"Survive the challenge at full health using the perk No Mither"
"Heal yourself 5 health states using the perk No Mither. Must be done in one trial."
-
Don't worry guys they were just placeholders.
Watch them make Tome 4 even worse.
-
Just finished it this morning a while after Tome 3 came out. And boy do I miss when I didn't know what the Tome 3 challenges would be.
-
I would go with Thana, Dying Light, Sloppy, and either Nurses, Ruin, or BBQ, your choice. Slow the game down as much as possible, make sure no one heals, and stab as much as possible :D
-
Going further into this, I want to mention this.
This game has one of the most divided communities ever. The two sides rarely ever agree on something, and attack each other every chance they get. For a more recent instance, the nerfs to Nurse, Spirit, and Balanced Landing. The nerfs to these cause killers to cry "Wah wah baby survivors can't adapt to two killers." While the BL nerf caused survivors to cry "Wah wah baby killers can't adapt to a perk." This is one of the few issues that both sides agree is terrible. If they don't at least make some change to Tome 4, I'll honestly be speechless. You know something is bad when both sides that are constantly at each other's throats can agree on it.

Yeah I can't really see myself paying for premium again if I can't get to the last tier either through the challenges or grinding. A lot of these tome 3 and 4 challenges are asinine.
It wouldn't be so bad if we were getting more Rift Shards as an incentive to do these, because BP just isn't enough. I've got 1,000,000 saved up already for Oni. If we got a bigger reward for doing these harder challenges it wouldn't be so bad and I could understand them getting more difficult.
-
OMG yes
Trapper
Side B - Summons one of the members of the Legion to dash forward. Any opponent hit by this will take damage over time.
Up B - The Nurse is summoned to teleport Trapper up. Can be used twice in succession.
Neutral B - Summons the Huntress to change and throw a hatchet. This hatchet can be picked up and used again after it is thrown.
Down B - Lays a bear trap down, similar to Snake's C4. When an opponent steps in it they will suffer from slower movement speed for a set duration.
Final Smash -
1. Summons the Entity to sacrifice anyone hit by it, instantly killing at above 100%.
2. Summons the other killers, each using their powers in various ways to pass the opponent to one another, ending in one final blow from all the killers together.
3. The Trapper performs his Mori, killing at above 100%.
-
Seems the new killers are getting unique chase music. It started with Myers, but hasn't come back up until Demogorgon came out, and now Oni has his own music I think.
-
Survivor: Plunderer's Instinct, Adrenaline, DS, BT
Killer:
Wraith: Devour Hope, Nurses Calling, BBQ, Brutal Strength
Legion (RIP my build): Sloppy Butcher, Dying Light, Nurses Calling, Thanatophobia
Plague: Thanatophobia, Dying Light, BBQ, I'm All Ears
Ghostface: Brutal Strength, BBQ, Nurses, Discordance
Demogorgon: Enduring, BBQ, Nurses Calling, Devour Hope
(Soon™) Oni: Infectious Fright, Sloppy Butcher, Distressing, Coulrophobia

Gotta' chime in here; #1 is not true. There are also statistics on the amount of people ranking up on each side. The percentage was significantly lower on the survivor side when the emblem system first came out. These days it's much closer to what it should be.
That would also invalidate #2, although it's pretty nebulous to say in the first place since different killers earn emblems at different rates. The Legion, for example, gets a ton of chaser score because of their fast first hits and multiple chases. Meanwhile killers like the Plague, Hillbilly, etc. only hit survivors once to down them, meaning they lose out on a lot of chaser score, making them harder to rank. If it was just a matter of emblems, a killer like the Legion would be doing much worse as some of the people playing them would rank up further than they should and drag down the kill rates.
Anyway, long story short, we actually don't balance around kill rates alone. Kill rates are just one of the many things that might show us where a problem could be, but we do our research first.
Any chance killers like Plague or Billy will have their power count for emblems? Plague's sickness damage and Corrupt Purge don't appear to count for emblems, and bringing a survivor from Healthy to Downed in one hit like with Billy's Chainsaw should count for two hits in Malicious. Makes ranking up and getting Adepts as these killers nearly impossible when using their power, I only got Adept Plague by completely ignoring her power altogether.

Hush, they'll come for Billy next!

Totally agree with everything here. The only thing I can't see getting changed is Shred's cooldown. It was originally 2 seconds but was changed to 2.5 as it was faster to use Shred to get around the map than walking.
-
I play killer most of the time but understand struggles survivors face, such as how and why Spirit, Nurse and old Legion got changes. I know it sucks to get camped and tunnelled which is why I avoid doing it as killer. And sure, I'm biased, I won't argue against that, but nearly every person on this forum is biased in some way. Is my opinion still invalid? You can only play one side majority of the time but can still understand when there are problems for the other side.
-
I wouldn't be for Legacy coming back, but rather another different type of cosmetic for people who want to go the extra mile for that specific character other than prestige.
-
The only change Ghostface needs is to make breaking him out of stealth a lot more smooth and consistent. He could be behind a wall and you can break him out, or he could be right in front of you, still in stealth
-
Kindred and Left Behind got some great QoL changes. Dying Light is much healthier for the game and much more useful for Legion and Plague. DS and MoM had it coming.

thats like the worst opinion
"we dont like it when survivors dc/suicide on hook"
but you expect them to just stay there and mash until they get carpal tunnel, because that's fun
nah, no thanks, move on to the next game. kill two birds with one stone if you punish camping pre-exit gate powered: fewer dcs, less awful solo surv experience, fewer campers
until then guarantee ill just suicide on hooks if i see a camper, surv queue is short, killer queue isnt, i can move on xD
OK so if I see all 3 survivors rushing the hook I should leave or I risk your feelings getting hurt and you suiciding.

New perks
Grandma ain't taking your ######### today: After being injured once, hut the killer with whatever object is nearby, including but not limited too: Golden Toolboxes, pallets, medkits, keys, and a flip flop.
Have a seat dearie: The killer works hard. Invite the killer and survivors for a nice friendly homemade meal.
-
Jeepers Creepers will probably never be in the game due to the original creator diddling kids. Would really like to see an Alien chapter.

They need to buff legion already
At this point I feel the only option for Legion is a complete rework. They are either broken and unfun for survivors to go against, or weak as hell and unfun for the killer to play as. Old Legion was broken, and now Legion has no slowdown potential, which was the entire point of their power now that Deep Wounds are getting nerfed. Devs flat out can't win with Legion outside of a total rework.

adepts are pretty god damn hard it's why I only have 3 of them because I got lucky
Adepts for survivor are a piece of piss. You just have to play like you normally would and escape. For certain killers, you have to completely change the way you play/use their powers. The worst example of this would be killers with 1 shot capabilities, like Myers, Billy, or Ghostface, because for some reason, downing a survivor in 1 hit doesn't count as the usual 2. This forces you to use Billy's saw only for map pressure, use Night Shroud for sneaky hits, and forces you to completely ignore EW tier 3. Another honorable mention is Plague. Sickness damage doesn't count for emblems, nor does Corrupt Purge, and everyone is constantly being downed in 1 hit, ######### your emblems to kingdom come. I only got Adept Plague when I didn't even use her power once during a match. Emblems are so ######### it isn't even funny.
-
I feel like we could take a Dr. Evil approach and give him a laser beam. The more he flops the more powerful the laser beam is.
-
I still don't see the reason they changed it from to second ranking cube.
1 kill = no pip
2 kills = safety pip
3 kills = pip
4 kills = double pip
This is literally perfect for killers. It would fix Adepts being bullshit, and the needless stalling if you want to pip. You are a killer, your job is to kill, not needlessly extend the game for no apparent reason.
-
Sure, we can take away Billy's chainsaw and make Padded Jaws basekit while we're at it too.
But seriously?
Freddy Counterplay
1. Being awake
2. Map awareness
Ghostface Counterplay
1. More general awareness
2. You can loop him like any other M1 killer
The solution is literally git gud.

@Triumvirat im not thinking its because of cosmetics youre assuming that
but im asking for reason why 7 killers in row dodged that lobby? because it wasnt 4 men SWF and if youre telling me every killer is checking profiles to check hours, why that is allowed?
SWF basically cheating XD dude its 1st time im using sth THAT DEVS BUILD IN GAME and was called cheater, get a life kid because i cant call it different
i main wraith and pig on red/purple ranks (depends on mood if i want to play with or without slowdown perk) and i never dodge lobby xd even obvious 4men swf or 4 items
Well good for you, congratulations on not dodging lobbies, here's a gold star. Lobby dodging is in no way as bad as DCs. If I'm playing a killer besides Ghostface and see 4 neon Nea's load in with flashlights, you can bet your salt I'm dodging that lobby. If I have to choose between wait 5 minutes for a new lobby to fill in, or go through 15 minutes of hell on a map like Blood Lodge, I'm waiting for another lobby. Unless the killer is REALLY skilled or playing Spirit, Billy, or Freddy, a 4 man SWF bully squad with purple flashlights/toolboxes with great addons is borderline unfair unless the killer camps and tunnels. I'd rather wait for a game where we can all have fun than play a match where I'm basically guaranteed to not have fun and get bullied for 15 minutes unless I resort to scummy tactics like camping and tunneling.
-
Because devs hate Legion and Legion mains. There are no upsides to their power at this point. Originally it could be used to down people, but was too overpowered and unfun to go against and was understandably nerfed. Then it shifted to slowdown, with perks like Sloppy Butcher really complimenting their power. Now, Sloppy Butcher and STBFL don't work with them, and their slowdown is even more nonexistent than it already was. You can't down people with their power, the slowdown is complete #########, and you have to eat a 4 second stun at the end. They don't have a power, they have the option to willingly handicap themselves.
-
I've seen some good concepts for Slender. Hits me right in the horror nostalgia feels everytime I see him. I remember being on my grandma's computer in the basement and being scared out of my mind, horror was truly simpler back then, relying a lot less on jumpscares and well made tension. I wouldn't be against his inclusion, and maybe DBD could do him justice after that god awful movie.

On oni.
Samurai times were different.
Offending a samurai was basically giving him the "right" to kill you.
Specially if you offend his honor.
"You insult me, I'll take your head as compensation"
Kinda like that.
So him thinking "I am a samurai, they are insulting me by pretending to be a samurai, they must pay with their lives" is more of a product of it's time than he being dumb.
Oof, now that you mention it, it does make sense. Forgot about how Japan was basically all about honor back then. Even says in his lore that he had to kill them for desecrating the Yamaoka name.
-
Almost got it as Trapper while doing the "Hook survivors in the basement with Agitation" challenge. Definitely going to require some scummy tactics and basement camping with a killer like Demo or Trapper.
-
Pro: Can be fun to play.
Con: Devs hate your guts and want you to suffer.
-
S for Smart:
Doctor: An actual neuroscientist, probably the smartest person in the Entity's realm. Although his brain might possibly be fried, you can't deny his medical knowledge.
Ghostface: An extremely deadly serial killer. Before being taken into the Entity's realm, he was able to kill dozens of people in both Roseville and Philadelphia. It takes some serious planning and strategy to pull this off, not to mention he managed to fool everyone he met, and was never caught or arrested.
Pig: After becoming John Kramer's apprentice, Amanda was seen to have designed dozens of mechanically complex traps. Granted, these were inescapable, but still, it takes some smarts to design stuff as complex as this.
A for Above Average Intelligence:
Clown: Another serial killer who managed to kill without being noticed for the most part. Although he was eventually caught, he also dabbled in chemical mixing, resulting in The Afterpiece Tonic, showing he has some knowledge in chemistry.
Nurse: She became a nurse, meaning she has to have at least some medical knowledge. Granted, I don't think Crotus Prenn was really picky about who they hired, so this might not be true.
Spirit: A prodigious college student who managed to get accepted into a difficult to get into college. Unfortunately her father had a bad day at work.
B for Basic Intelligence:
Freddy: A simple groundskeeper. Although he was able to get away with a few murders/kid diddlings, he was caught much faster than Clown was.
Micheal: Able to fake his death multiple times and figure out how to drive a car by himself. Also good at murdering babysitters/horny teens.
Legion: A group of teens. They were said to be delinquents, meaning they might not be the smartest in their classes.
Trapper: Shown to know how to work Bear Traps and managed his father's mine. The epitome of average.
Wraith: Wraith came from presumably a third world country, meaning he might not have the highest education. He knew how to work the crusher, but that was about it. Still a sad boi.
Oni: Killed farmers because he though it would preserve the samurai spirit. Goes into fits of blind rage over name calling. More of a product of them times as mentioned by @Weck. Kills because he wants to bring his name honor, and saw the only way to do that was kill anyone who was an imposter samurai, or who desecrated his name. Death before Dishonor.
C for Close to Dumb
Plague: A really religious killer. Granted, she is from Babylon, so education wasn't the best back then. She still knows her way around the world.
Hag: From a small village, Hag might not be the smartest or have a good education. Considering she is also a cannibal now, this doesn't help her cause either.
D for Dumb
Huntress: No human contact ever. Basically has the mind of a 5 year old. Only smart when it comes to the forest.
Leatherface: Clearly some form of mental disability. Knows nothing other than to provide for his family. SImilarly to Huntress, Bubba has the mind of a child.
Hillbilly: Trapped in a small room for most of his life, he was basically broken. With no chance to learn, Hillbilly is basically a ball of rage with a chainsaw.
Demogorgon: Demo isn't even human. It's a wild animal. It only knows how to hunt, kill, and eat. Granted, it is really good at what it does, it still has no human brain/intelligence. Still the goodest of bois.
Edit: Added Oni.
Edit 2: Changed Oni's position.

@Aven_Fallen said:
Thing is, his power is insanely strong. It does not take that much practice to use the Demon Dash, especially since you cannot collide with anything (other than Billy). So form the pure strength of his Power, he should get some Nerfs (and I am pretty sure he will get some).
However, the difficult thing is - he does not have his Power from the Start and he does not have its Power all of the time. If the Oni cannot find a Survivor fast enough, he might end up losing, because he cannot build up his Power. But, once he got it, he can have the whole team slugged in like a minute.
Furthermore, he promotes slugging. This is not because some players want to play unfun, it is simply how he works. He punishes for bringing people to the Hook, you are far better off when you slug as many Survivors as possible before hooking one of them, which is bad game design.
So yeah, I really dont know what they will do with him.
Oni, while fun to play, is really flawed from a gameplay standpoint. His power promotes slugging, which is unfun for survivors, and survivors can deny him of a power by hiding in lockers. Hoping for some tweaks, like making Blood Fury persist when he picks up a survivor at the cost of making Blood Fury either not last as long or by making it harder to get in the first place.
-
S: Spirit, Billy
A: Nurse, Freddy, Oni, Huntress, Ghostface,
B: Plague, Demogorgon, Myers, Pig,
C: Wraith, Trapper, Doctor
D: Legion, Leatherface, Clown
Z: Hag. Screw you Hag >:(
-
Doesn't make you any less of a dickhead for trying to ruin others fun.
-
I only slug if I can see the last survivor is nearby. Only other time I slug is if you've been really toxic.

Even the wikipage you put up support my point. Oni samurai was a group of elite trope back in the day and were human. DBD Oni is the folklore Oni, is a mystical creature similar to ogre.
I'm not sure about his lore, but I would believed that this yamaoka ancestor was a samurai who just happened to become an Oni later down the line. The samurai sword is a throwback to his samurai day, and symbolises that he was started as a human with sword that become an Oni with club after soaking in enough blood.
According to his lore, the Oni, Kazan Yamaoka, sought to uphold the samurai spirit, and felt that the best way to do that was kill "imposter" samurai, who were basically just farmers. He killed hundreds of farmers, taking "trophies" from each kill. People caught wind of this and started calling him "Oni-Yamaoka", basically calling him an ogre/monster, which Kazan hated, as it was seen as disgraceful to him and his families name. Seeking retribution, a voice in his head, most likely the Entity, told him to go to a nearby town and kill its lord, the person who originally desecrated his name. On his way there, he was stopped by a samurai, and after a tough battle, Kazan eventually wins, smashing the samurai's skull with his kanabo club. Removing the samurai's mask revealed his father, killed by Kazan's own hands.
This basically broke Kazan.
He left, roaming the land, hearing his father's voice in his head taunting him. Eventually he happened on an Oni statue in a forest, which reminded him of the lord. He went back to the lord's town, slaughtering everyone he saw. He found the lord in his palace, and after torturing him for hours, watching him squirm and beg like a dog, killed him by ripping out his tongue, so that he would never desecrate his name again. Leaving the town, he was ambushed by a bunch of farmers, who eventually overpowered him. Bringing him to an old windmill, they tortured Kazan as he had tortured their lord, eventually leaving him for the night. When they came back, the windmill was covered in a black fog, with Kazan nowhere to be found, spawning rumors of an Oni haunting the town.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/856127#Comment_856127
He could litterally be both a Samurai or an Oni. (Cause you know... Oni Samurais exist lol) All I am saying is if they made his color pallet kinda like the one I referenced then it would be more pleasing visually to look at. I didn't say the model ain't great. I just said the color needs to be tweaked.. and the hair definitely needs tweaking (especially with the menu's bad lighting) like dark blue and a dark red oni mask would be definitely better. And then have a slightly darker light blue for his skin.(kinda like Spirit's skin.)
That's all this post was about.
Not trying to criticize the devs for doing a Terrible job. Because so far I like this chapter. Just not his color pallet.
Have you seen the leaked Oni cosmetics? Because some of them look really amazing. Definitely going to be buying some myself when he comes out.
-
Making Oni more vulnerable to losing his power would be really bad. For example, if you got hit by a pallet in Blood Fury and lost it, it would hurt Oni's potential massively, forcing him to respect pallets. As I see it, Oni is only really problematic if the survivors are grouped up, if he has Infectious Fright, or if the map itself is small. I think that he is fine as is, maybe just a tweak to some numbers, like making Blood Fury slightly harder to get, or making survivors drop less Blood Orbs.

Oni can mean either of these. But the 2nd one in fact doesn't have a Katana. The Oni Samurai does.
But Oni carries both a katana and a kanabo, the club onis are known for wielding. It's clear that while not in Blood Fury, Oni resembles a samurai more, wielding his katana and not being able to perform any supernatural abilities, but in Blood Fury, AKA his demon form, he wields his kanabo and becomes a lot stronger, with demon like strength, making him appear more similarly to an actual oni.

I either hit it a second to late and regress the gen, or hit it a second too early and regress the gen even more.

Behold, Plague's vomit is now blue instead of green!
I like the idea though.
Trapper's Traps
Wraith's Wailing Bell
Hillbilly's Chainsaw
Huntress' Hatchets
Pig's RBTs
Clown's Bottles
Plague's Vomit
Oni's Kanabo
Could all get new cosmetics.

Only people playing Nurse now are the die hard Nurse mains. They still want to make Nurse work, and for the most part they do. The changes made Nurse a lot less beginner friendly, even more than she was already, which turned a lot of people who weren't die hard Nurse mains.

It took Freddy a year and a half to get his rework. Translate that to Legion time
365 +183 = 548
