  • @Almo said:

We did not change Deep Wound time just to "fix" Legion. It was an idea we came up with that could help with the Legion frustration problems, but then we evaluated it and the other ramifications it would have. We decided that it was a good idea for several reasons and went with it.

But no one has been complaining about Legion? After Legion's first big update that pretty much shut up everyone, and the reduced compatibility with perks if definitely a huge nerf, largely outweighing the small buffs to Legion's movement speed, not to mention these buff to Legion's movement speed don't matter while the HUGE 4 second stun still exists. Sure, it might be nice to move a bit faster as Legion, but the reduced compatibility with Legion's arguably 2 most useful perks that compliment their power, Sloppy Butcher and STBFL completely outweigh the positives. The main reason Legion's power is bad is because of the 4 second stun, and now Deep Wounds is basically useless.

Legion's slowdown potential had been completely eradicated. People haven't been complaining about being frustrated going against Legion since their huge nerf during the summer, I've only heard people calling for Legion to be buffed in any way, shape, or form. Instead we get another huge nerf to Legion, while completely overlooking the 4 second stun, which makes using Feral Frenzy more of a drawback than a power now.

As of now, there is absolutely no reason to use Feral Frenzy. Deep Wounds can be ignored and is barely a threat unless your action key somehow breaks, you can't down anybody with their power, the 4 second stun makes Feral Frenzy absolutely useless, survivors will get so much ground on you while you are stunned. It's faster to get hit with a pallet to end Feral Frenzy than ending it manually. Now that all of Legion's synergy with perks and Feral Frenzy has been removed, there is no point in using Feral Frenzy other than willingly handicapping yourself.

If you guys hate Legion so much, you know you can just tell us right?

    I am actually really curious

Also what does No Mither do with this?

I've heard that it still drops Blood Orbs at least, not sure if less though.

  • The problem isn't generator speed. It is many killers lack of ability to pressure survivors. Killers like Trapper, Wraith, and every other M1 killer aren't able to produce enough pressure to get survivors off of gens and keep them off. This is why Nurse, Billy, Spirit, and to a lesser extent, Freddy and maybe even Demogorgon are top tier. They can effectively traverse the map, while downing survivors at a quick enough pace to keep the pressure on, and keep them off of gens. A killer like Trapper, who has to go around setting traps, and Clown, a basic 115% killer has no help in traversing the map. If you break chase because a survivor is really good at looping or is at an infinite, guess what? Another survivor will just run to those loops/infinite. A killer needs to be able to counter loops/pallets and traverse the map effectively, something a lot of the weaker killers simple cannot do. It isn't the gen speeds that are flawed, it is the map designs themselves that are problematic.

I'm actually curious now about how do they create new things. Like, do they test it first? Or just do things on paper and launch it without much thought?

We know they don't playtest extensively. Take for example the Classic Ghostface Robes. The sleeve covers 25% of the screen for the killer, and the flaps are subject to all sorts of glitches. A single match would've caused the devs to have seen how badly the new robes work, and allow them to get a fix out. Same goes for perks like Mettle of Man existing for as long as they did. It was so ridiculous that it really only effected weaker killers, the ones who need the most help.

  • Inb4 No Mither hard counters Oni. Hope that at least the Hemorrhage Status Effect makes you drop more Blood Orbs.

  • Sloppy Butcher, Bloodhound, Infectious Fright, and Nurses Calling. Never let them heal and track them, once you have Demon Mode, slug and find everyone else with Infectious Fright and down them with Demon Strike.

  • @NullSp3c said:

The interaction with nemesis would be solved by making the deep wound timer not reduce at a fixed 20 meters, including in chase. It's not that hard to program.

Knowing the devs, I don't know. Don't forget Beast of Prey too.

  • I'm at around tier 23. Got back into ARK so that's been taking my attention away from DBD.

  • @UncannyLuck said:

The new killer power rubs me the wrong way because I remember specifically a dev here saying that Legion has to make a choice between using their power for map traversal and using their power for attacking.

Then we get this killer that... doesn't have to make that choice at all. Also, they 1-shot with their power instead.

Except you can't currently use Frenzy for map traversal, it is slower than walking in it's current state when you take in the huge stun at the end, and the funny thing is the Dev that said this, Almo, is also the one, who gave this really bad reason for nerfing Legion this time.

Now for once this wont be a #########-post on this account, although i am going to use this one to keep my account that i post on for genuine stuff private , because this is most likely going to be trash talked by certain people who don't want to hear this kind of stuff

HITBOXES (Still not fixed, been broken since 1.6.)

My current thoughts on the game have me honestly losing hope for it, at the current time dedicated servers have broken perks, (note it has brought some good things but here's some of the bad) , made getting hit through windows much much easier on green ping

    I.E. here's proof right here

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1_NFysTLpc19FKaHzOJtKfLHrvpAS5HpT/view , video wont post so here's a google drive , ping to the dedicated server was 60 for me pretty good! although hitboxes didn't seem to like it , my friends ping (person who recorded this) was 65-70, and i got hit through god pallet while the killer was on the other side but i don't use nvidia so it wasnt clipped.

    Killers (Characters, Not players)

Since spirit is getting nerfed pretty soon i'm not going to use her as my main point but nurse has been broken for years now, and she just got nerfed a couple updates ago, and spirit (i know i said i wasn't going to use her as my main point but this needs to be addressed) has been a low skill cap killer , yes i notice tracking comes into big play while playing her but considering most survivors are RUNNING in a chase theres scratch marks and considering it the survivor isn't using Iron will you can be heards so scratch mark juking isn't really a option since she can bump into you and hear you, and in the future update she is going to not be able to bump into you which is nice :)

    Killers (Players)

Now i'm not trying to discriminate as one side because i play both sides majorly survivor but i do enjoy playing killer, Killer is a power role which i do understand and survivor shouldn't hold the balance in the game although survivor is nerfed almost every update as killer gets buffed, Many perks have been nerfed, gutted, from what they used to be, This game is one of a kind and i wouldnt like to see it go away but almost anything enough killers complain about is nerfed, I.E. Meta perks isn't something that should be complained about these days You can barely survive with them, ######### survivor is literally someone living off of scrap from the scrap yard, rarely you get great things, sometimes you get ok things and most of the time you get nothing

SURVIVOR (Players, And feelings about the side)

Playing survivor at the moment most definitely is not enjoyable, and you can ask any survivor out there who is half decent that the game is going downhill atm for survivor, its really hard to enjoy a game with a semi decent killer , and with killer queues being so long you cant really find anyone trying to have fun, and its usually just the same build, Why use a fun build when you have a hour long wait time to most likely get bullied by survivors just because you want to have fun, survivor is honestly just annoying to play at the moment and i'm not surprised why killer has such long queues

General Thoughts About The Game ( My Thoughts )

The game is very very unfun to play as survivor at the moment, currently hitboxes seem to be worse then they used to be which is honestly kinda disturbing that you can break hitboxes this badly, killer holds all the power now, survivor have barely any chance to have fun,

    Queue time

Killer queue times take about 30-45 minutes , as survivor takes about 10, still pretty long just to get a 15 minute game, which makes it undesirable to use fun perk builds on killer, maybe sometimes on survivor but why use a fun build when you're most likely going to get bullied while using it then have to wait 30 or even 40 minutes to use it again?

    Conclusion/End

To end off this post, Dbd is going downhill atm for survivors, killers hold TOO much power nowadays, and survivor seems to get the ######### end of the stick, its very hard to even enjoy playing one game like it used to be. anyways that's it to this post, Thanks for reading it even though it will probably get drowned out by everyone who doesn't want to hear this :/

"Killers get buffed every update while survivors get nerfed."

    Nurse nerfed 1 update ago

    Spirit getting nerfed this update

Legion getting utterly gutted this update

Mind you, Spirit and Nurse weren't heavily nerfed, but Legion is getting gutted, meanwhile the only nerf to survivors is coming up with Balanced Landing.

Try Lithe its hilarious with Quick and Quiet mid chase when ur looping and have IW. You lose so many killers it's kinda sad.

Lithe, Quick and Quiet, Iron Will, and Dance With Me will basically guarantee you will lose the killer. This build is so disgusting I love it :D

    Nerf The Oni

    So it begins already?

  • His power looks really cool, he can absorb blood orbs dropped by injured survivors to fill a power gauge. When it is full he can activate it and gain 2 new abilities, Demon Dash, which lets him cover a lot of distance quickly, and Demon Strike, which lets him lunge forward and 1 hit down a survivor. He's basically a better Demogorgon, but watch Demon Strike get nerfed.

  • Really liking the looks of his power. Watch Demon Strike lose the 1 hit down, I'm calling it right now.

  • @TheRoyalOwl said:

They just decreased the mend time to 12 from 15. That's 3 seconds less for what increased speed, vaulting and certain addons are better.

I don't know why they decided to lower the DW timer but it certainty isn't a nerf.

The big thing is removing Legion's synergy with on hit perks like Sloppy Butcher. Hitting a survivor in Frenzy no longer counts as a basic attack, meaning Sloppy and STBFL won't activate. DW is already insignificant enough that nobody cares about it, but making Sloppy and STBFL basically worthless will really hurt Legion.

  • I've started playing ARK again so I don't have any progress on Tome 2 but I'm at around tier 22.

Can you give me a link to any videos?

    I can't find them :P

You could visit r/leaksbydaylight, I'm pretty sure they had a release schedule.

  • Ghostface doesn't need nerfs, but just needs his Night Shroud fine tuned. 50% of the time you look straight at him and don't break him out, the other 50% you look in some random direction and break him out of stealth while he's halfway across the map.

    1. Demogorgon. Really brings out the monster aspect, and those roars get me off. 99% of the reason I play Demo is because those roars feel so powerful. Definitely the most atmospheric killer 10/10
    2. Legion. Love how the survivors at least try to fight back.
    3. Ghostface. Say cheese!
    4. Hag. Liver = Yummy
    5. Clown. Big boi laughs. Finger licking good.
  • Disturbed Ward hands down is the most survivor sided building.

Haddonfield houses are strong, and downright broken is the survivor has Balanced Landing.

Ironworks is a loop that is really hard to mess up on. Unless you are Trapper or Hag, good luck.

Don't you think it should also disable when survivor with DS active does things that he shouldn't?

Like breaking totems, fixing gens, getting healed to full(I'm not sure about that one) or jumping in lockers

I feel it should only disable when working on gens. Because working on gens allows you to progress the objective without worry, whereas hiding in a locker, getting healed, and breaking totems aren't that detrimental to the killer.

    Ideally, DS should be

    • Once unhooked, a 40/50/60 second timer will begin. If you are picked up during that time, successfully complete a skill check to escape the killer's grasp and stun them for 5 seconds.
    • If another survivor is downed/hooked, the perk will immediately deactivate.
    • Repairing a generator during this time period will also result in the timer deactivating.

DS is supposed to be an anti-tunneling perk, and it is perfectly fine in that department, but DS true problems begin when you can just sit on a gen while the killer is coming towards you with absolutely zero repercussions. It should be an anti-tunneling perk, not a "I just got unhooked, you can't touch me for 60 seconds while I work on gens." Which is all because the timer for DS lasts way to long.

  • You just refresh the Bloodweb over and over, allowing you to get perks, offerings, items, and addons. Once you get all perks it is solely for getting new items, offerings, and addons.

  • For me it probably goes

    1. Yamaoka's. You can't track for ######### because Scratch Marks get hidden under all the grass and bamboo, and whenever I'm in a chase I always get caught on stuff I don't think I'll get caught on.
    2. Haddonfield. There are so many good pallets, the houses are really safe, and downright broken with Balanced Landing.
    3. Ormond. This once mainly goes to the really bad auras on this map. Scratch Marks blend into the ground, and gen and totem auras are really pale for some weird reason.
    4. Rotten Fields. CORN. SO MUCH CORN. I'M FROM THE MIDWEST AND EVEN THIS IS TOO MUCH CORN FOR ME.
    5. Blood Lodge. So many pallets, and you can't do anything as a stealth killer due how open the map is.
  • What do you mean? It goes Spooky Month, Christmas Month 1, Christmas Month 2.

    There's two main reasons:

    1. Loss of progress. There is an issue where early event cosmetics would sometimes disappear due to an error. We would have to manually re-apply them to each person one by one, which can take quite a while. Often times we would get a surge of those tickets and it would make a huge backlog of tickets, slowing down support across the board.
    2. There's no way to get them. Lately, we've started to make sure that things are available to everyone. The Hallowed Blight and Withering Blight events are a good example of this; you play, you earn event currency, you trade that currency in for cosmetics. Missed the event but really want a particular outfit? You can grab it from the store. This way you can earn it for free, but you're not totally out of luck if you miss the event.

The simple version is because we want a clean slate. We want to make sure that everyone has the same opportunity to earn them going forward.

As for legacy, we're not looking to re-release that because we have promised in the past that it wouldn't be returning. We don't want to go back on that promise if at all possible.

What about the people who have lost their Legacy? I've seen a few cases of people losing their Legacy, submitting a ticket, and getting no response from the Devs.

  • I agree that the paid Steam exclusives should be available, but everyone who was playing at that time had a fair chance to earn the Event cosmetics for free. Hoping they keep Howling Grounds and Summer BBQ event exclusive.

  • It's bad, but at the very least if you wait a few days for everyone to get back to their rank you can try for Adept achievements because getting them at red ranks is basically impossible.

  • You have to sacrifice the 4 default survivors, Meg, Dwight, Claudette, and Jake around 20-25 times I think.

  • Cat O Nine Tails for a BDSM killer.

You aren't understanding my point aha, with a mouse a nurse has more control of where she is teleporting, where she can't do that on controllers. So it would be easy for pc killers to kill console survivors because we don't go against as many great nurses or killers because it is harder on console. So if it all of a sudden had pc killers switch to go against console survivors not only will match making be longer but it will be unfair

I don't think matchmaking would take longer, but I do agree that PC players would have the advantage. They have access to better headsets, which would benefit Spirit players. They have better mouse control, benefiting Billy, Nurse, and Survivors, as they will be able to control their camera much better, allowing for better use of the chainsaw, blinking, and 360ing killers, as survivors and killers on console have much worse camera control, making it harder to avoid a killer/hit a survivor.

  • I'd rather have them refund Auric Cells with difficult challenges. The problem is, as the challenges get harder, the reward doesn't go up. Sure you get more BP, but you still get the same amount of Rift Shards as Tome 1. They should increase the amount of Rift Shards per Tome as challenge goes up. There's no point in allowing us to get our Auric Cells back if we don't have an opportunity too.

  • The thing is, I'm pretty sure they took the averages from all ranks, which is why killers like Trapper have a pretty high kill rate. At rank 20 Trapper is the most popular killer because he is the "default" killer so to speak, and at rank 20, killer is a lot stronger than survivor because nobody knows how to loop or run stuff like the Shack effectively, but the power creep starts seeping in as you go up in ranks, with survivors doing better and better, as killers like Trapper start dropping off, eventually averaging out.

The cloak covering the right of the screen I noticed immediately. Did not even realize all the other stuff.

I like this cosmetic a lot but the cloak blocking a quarter of the screen is kind of a big deal.

I also don't see much difference between the new mask and his base mask. Is it just more white? IDK I have p3 so I just got the body.

The new mask is just a bit whiter, hence it only costing 200 Auric Cells instead of the usual 400.

Devs have said the Ghostface in the DBD universe is pretty narcissistic. He's really upset about the new teaser.

  • I can't watch it because my school is dumb what happens in it?

  • David's default clothes aren't too good, everyone either uses his beard and jacket, or Shirtless David. Nea and Quentin are secretly corpses and their faces are currently decomposing.

  • Guys you got it all wrong. The new guest killer is from this little indie horror game called Dead by Daylight, its their mascot, The Trapper.

  • Wraith: My build is Devour Hope, Nurses Calling, Brutal Strength, and BBQ. I find DH more fun than Ruin and a lot more rewarding if they don't find the totem. Once you get 3 tokens people will go mad trying to find it. Nurses is useful because Wraith can move quickly around the map while cloaked, making it easier to find survivors healing. Brutal Strength is useful for the amount of pallets Wraith eats, and the quicker gen kick is an added bonus.

Demogorgon: I use basically the same build, but change out Brutal Strength for Enduring. Demo's Shred lets him break pallets, so BS is basically unneeded, so I run Enduring for challenging pallets as much as possible. Nurses can let you see people while you are travelling the Upside Down, You could arguably run Corrupt Intervention/Ruin instead of Devour Hope to set up portals early game, but I like to just set portals on top of gens, and steamroll with Devour Hope.

Demogorgon: The "I have a mouth and I must scream" build. Save the Best for Last, Mad Grit, only use Shred. Scream as much as possible, and break the survivors eardrums.

  • Phantom Hits always existed, isn't even a dedicated servers issue, it's a lag issue, I play on Xbox and experience them all the time because my wifi is bad.
