Phantom Chainsaws as billy
Does anyone experiences these more often since the servers are out? I know that they EXISTS BEFORE but when I did my billy daily yesteday I had 4 of them in 1 game, that is honestly really annoying and gamebreaking...
Phantom chainsaws are the weird hit animation you do when you are about to hit a survivor but nothing happened to the survivor, just like you didnt even hit him. But you still stopped with the chainsaw just like you would hit. I DONT MEAN WHILE THEY ARE IN SPRINT BURST ETC. No dead hard or other perk, just a regular chainsaw hit. Because of this you can lose a entire chase because the survivor has a plenty of time to run to a new window or pallet. I like billy but since the phantome chainsaws are getting even worse I am forced to stop playing him...
So my reason for this post is if you guys experience these Phantom saws aswell as I do?

Yeah seems like that, it should get fixed, Its nothing of the players issue and that prevents you to play this killer properly.
Yeah it happens a lot to me, that's 1 of the reasons why I started to take spirit instead of billy against 4 swf with key/toolboxes. Last game I played with billy I had 3 phantom chainsaws which cost me 2 kills.

Agree, I really like billy but I cant play him with this bug...
Unintended issue with dedicated servers I would guess, I doubt they'd add that on purpose.

When using the chainsaw you have a 15% chance of missing a survivor. It can be affected by luck offerings and perks like Up the Ante

Phantom saws existed before the servers are out, I had my first at spirit chapter.

Okey lets bring a 15% miss chance by dropping a pallet or vaulting a window or unhooking a survivor, would be great right?
Billy is probably overperforming anyways, it's better this way.

So you are fine that you get punished for playing the killer properly with a random chance? lol
I have not played much Billy lately, but Phantom Saws 100% existed before and they were annoying. But 4 in 1 Match sounds way too much from my experience, so it might indeed be a Dedicated Server-Issue. I got like 1 or 2 in 5 matches usually (which still is 1 or 2 too much...).
I keep getting it as Pig, pretty sure it's cos of dedicated servers.
I use the dash, they turn even slightly and it just ends prematurely. It's like it ends because on my end I hit them and then it corrects and goes "oh wait no, that missed" which is really dumb because if they do dodge against her ambush it's easy to correct while still holding M1.
I don't let go, I still CAN hit them, but it's just cancelling the attack as a miss.
it's not dedicated servers, it's been happening before dedicated servers
Phantom chainsaws also happen on PS4 and we don't have dedicated servers. It must be something else.
This is a bug since release of dbd. It has nothing to do with servers (they might made it worse, but the problem relies deep in the game code) and devs never adressed this.

Phantom Hits always existed, isn't even a dedicated servers issue, it's a lag issue, I play on Xbox and experience them all the time because my wifi is bad.

I never had a phantom hit in my life with 2,5k hours, only on billy chainsaws
I just get them because my wifi is trash.
It's not just Dedicated Servers, I play PS4 and I stopped playing Billy for a while cause I got tired of getting cheated out of a chainsaw.

Servers just make the random bugs from P2P more common.
https://youtu.be/C9y8UyuXIIgYou detect the hit and start the animation. The survivor's hitbox moves outside the chainsaws range and the confirmation check fails the hit.
Less likely to happen on P2P but add servers and it becomes more pronounced.
