See, i fully understand your situation. I run an ambulance build, literally specced for saving people fast, safe and effectively. I have done some saves i'm bloody proud of, and in the same games been ditched quicker than a justin bieber album in your christmas stocking.
It sucks. It's frustrating and it makes you want to reach through the multiverse and scramble #NoobSMakker158 with your ethernet chord.
Sometimes yeah, i think 'Well fudge you all" But the problem is, yes you can be utterly self serving and i'd honestly not blame you, but I can only see that making matters worse when you do end up in a match with one or two genuine decent players who understands that you really are stronger as a team. If they don't see you as a team player, you're effectively mirroring the people cheesing you off right now, and why are they going to risk their necks for you? A lot of games are sucky due to our team mates, but the ones that come together like a plan devised by the ATeam themselves...oh those games are worth their weight in gold dude!
If you choose to just say 'to hell with you all" i could totally understand and if nothing else you might have a few less stressful games. However I'd encourage you to keep at it for those worthwhile matches every now and then :)

A literal selfish and utterly biased interpretation of 'balance', not worthy of more than the laziest of eye rolls.

You are blind, indeed. This is in the game as long as I can think about it. The Survivor on the left is always the one you have currently selected and the others are picked at random. All of them in the Cosmetics you are using.
I are stupid... Still pretty cool, even if i am late to the party..
-
Ok let me see if i have this correctly.
The patch came out a few hours ago, 4 for me, not sure about everyone else. And you are telling us that in that time you have played enough games as both killer and survivor to determine that the SWF problem is worse and that there are no deadzones as a survivor.
Please, share with us this amazing ability to asses the entire playerbase in just a few hours.
Otherwise im kinda calling BS on this one and believe you were basically just looking for any chance to bash on SWF. I mean its okay not to like or agree with SWF, but your data kinda makes your claim seem silly.

Okay, I just tried to avoid speaking directly about it. Warning, it has nothing to do with the post itself, just some thoughts about teabagging in general.
We all get used to some things but you can't say for sure that nobody gets upset after being teabagged. It got me thinking, why the hell do people get upset after being teabagged? I'm not talking about DBD when survivor dropped a pallet on a killer and started buttdancing, that's another story. I talk about situations when your character is on the ground, no matter what game it is, and your opponent just sits on your characters helpless body. Again, it's a theory and I may be going insane here, but it's a way of showing dominance by imitating some intimate stuff. STOP, WAIT, DON'T THROW WORDS AT ME, I'LL EXPLAIN. You see, we are animals, yeah, so we have traits that we carry from our wild ancestors. And dominance was one of the things people needed to show back in time. There's a theory going on that overall forced sexual experience, aka "r*pe", may have been a way of sustaining the leadership over other members. I hope you feel that if one person deegly-doogeloos another person it kinda radiates top energy and makes you look more powerful in the eyes of your animal "tribe" because you overpowered other members. (Stuff like that still happens! When a "strong" straight man all of a sudden r*pes his "mere" male victim for no obvious reason. And considering that I've said the reason becomes more clear.)
But people evolve and build a society and the society changes us so much faster than the evolution does. We've learned that r*pe brings up a lot of issues within a victim, we learned that leadership is not about physical strength, which was important in the wildlife but not in our modern community, and we overall started treating each other the way we do now. We feel obligated to control ourselves in real life and don't do stuff that our animal part would demand. But, BAM, videogames, a place where you can be free (not really)! And here our subconscious ancestor crawls without being spotted. Online gaming, you kinda compare you "strength" within a group of people, your "tribe" rivals. You smack your opponent and, OMG, you teabag over their downed body. You don't feel like spinning, aiming, or any other things, you want to go UP and DOWN over his pixel butt cheeks. If you look at it from another perspective, you imitate some really nasty actions without realizing it.
I mean, it's just a theory, I'm not talking about all game experiences, there are plenty of examples when teabagging is okay. But I hope you got that I was talking about this specific type of teabagging. DBD doesn't really has one... Or maybe does but in very limited occasions.
You're allowed to slap me through my screen if you think that it's all a bunch of BS.
I mean....it's a theory? I could sit here and pick this apart and it can also be argued very competently as you just demonstrated. However i feel bad about hijacking a thread when what i really should say. If anyone with half a brain can understand the mental effect the mere subject matter might affect a survivor of the real thing.....why on earth would anyone bring it up to use in an argument in a video game.
I don't have trouble with the theory itself even if I don't agree, I just kinda find it icky that people are using such a subject to win at 'opinions' in a forum about a video game, and all because someone bounced up and down at you. Pretty disrespectful.

But, like, your answer doesn't even contain signs that you thought about them... You just wooshed my comment and just repeated what you had said earlier.
I read your post, and after I got over the fact that you actually brought up sexual assault into a conversation about a few pixels bouncing up and down, I had a think.
Here's the problem with your theory (as I see it, I dont speak for anyone else). Ok so if you look at it from what i think you are trying to say, stuff that happens in game can have a direct mental effect because of the physical implications of that action in real life. So why aren't the forums full of PTSD suffering survivors who just can't hack it because they get killed over and over again?
Ok that was a silly comparison but i could word it better and make it sound genuine even though most of us know its not true. You can theorise as you will but the fact is, it just ain't true unless we have some reaaaaaaal delicate flowers playing killer.
I've been gaming since before Teabagging is a thing. over 20 years. I've been T-bagged in every game you could possibly be teabagged in and not one single time have I thought "Oh no, I feel violated"
Also for your comparison to work, they would actually have to be teabagging the killer....with your theory in place, survivors are actually assaulting the ground....

The fact of the matter is that these guys were indeed swf. They all spam messaged me. And there's no doubt that swf is broken. Its easy to tell if people are solo rather than swf.
If it is easy to tell who is SWF, then please tell me why I still receive at least 1-2 messages a week accusing me of being in an SWF simply because 4 solos actually managed some semblance of playing together well enough to escape? I mean these killers actually send friend invites with attached messages to circumvent the fact that i turned actual messages off. So if you have some magical power to tell who is and who isn't an SWF indisputably then please let me know so I can teach it to the ones who apparently cant.
I don't use meta perks, unless We'll make it, Kindred and empathy are the new 'crutch perks' this week
I'm useless with flashlights so i dont use them.
I don't BM
Did someone put a 'kick me I'm in an SWF" note on my back?
Or is it at all possible that in fact, it is not easy to identify an SWF as people seem to think?
-
I could only see this working if killers were no longer allowed to see survivors in the Lobby. If survivors were not allowed to take teachables, their build would be highly predictable just by seeing who the survivors are. If you limit what perks can be used, you will very quickly see a 'survivor meta' in which only certain survivors with what could be considered the stronger perks, would be seen in games, making it even easier for the killer to predict and adjust their perks.
I'm not against balance changes, but you have to consider such things when it comes to trying to balance a new idea. I know for certain that info on perks is a big thing, thats why the spectator screen now blocks killer perks till all are dead, you can't really say it would be just as bad in reverse. Yes you will have 4 sets of perks, but chances are, as mentioned before, with a 'surv character meta' thats not going to be an issue.
So not against it, but some things would need to be adjusted on the killer side to compensate the information advantage.

And because of stuff like this, the survivor queue time gets longer and longer because who wants to play killer and deal with this?
I am really curious to see how things will change with this next patch
Honestly, i can give you a quick preview if you like...
New map changes arrive. Killers have the upper hand for a while as survivors get used to new maps and slowed gen times.
Survivors will adapt, using new perk combos to better assist them with the new changes. With adapting comes improvement. Survivors learn to survive.
New changes are dubbed not enough and new perk combos become known as the next "Crutch perks"
Next popular theory arrives "Nerf lockers"

I suggest then ban 3rd software they run behind the deadbydaylight.exe on pc... I don't mind they play SWF as long as they don't communicate...
ban also people who do trash talk... they are SWF and guarantee to win, but mock a try hard killer... 4 man SWF ( + chat application ) vs Try hard killer... and they do dare trash talk ??
And how do you propose they go about banning third party software? You would be asking them to invade peoples privacy, accessing their PC or console to see if they have discord / party chat, something I'm not entirely sure is legal. And if by some miracle they managed to get away with that, what stops people from using their phones? In this day and age it would be impossible to stop people from communicating.
Also would this ban for trash talk extend to the Killers that do exactly the same? Because I'd be down for that.
-
It allows you to get up only once, after that it's just a quick recover time perk. It's not OP. Especially since most slugging is done to use the survivor as bait, 60% of the time i see it used, the survivor is either slapped back down again 2 seconds later, or it's used to recover a 3 man slug. If it allowed you to get up multiple times I might see your point, but it's once. I also very rarely see the perk used by more than one team mate in most games.
Doesn't need a nerf.
-
If 2 or three survivors are at an open exit gate ready to body block for someone on the way to said exit gate, that is not a free escape. That is the survivors doing all their objectives and winning.
There is no 'deserved' in this game. You win and lose based on skill, tactics and sometimes just plain luck.Nobody should be suggesting big changes based on the idea that someone 'deserves' it more or less in an asymmetric game. That's ridiculous.
A survivor isn't entitled to be left alone just because they were recently unhooked, and killers aren't entitled to a free base kit NOED at the gates.
If you want to talk balance at the gates, then come up with an idea that works fairly for both sides, rather than suggest free insta hits because its not fair the survivors won and are using actual in game tactics to save their fourth member.
-
Nope.I'm starting to think 'Bullied' is now a new word for "I lost" or "Nerf this" or "This is totally unfair that someone is using in game mechanics, designed by the game developers, to be used in the game to win the game"
Works both ways of course but the result is the same.
-
Asking for balance in the game, by hobbling survivors even further in order for you to catch them, is not balance. You are asking for the game to be made easier for you. I'm not trying to be harsh but every time I hear people calling out for balance, its along the lines of "Slow this down, take this away, make them not able to do this" At that point your just asking for advantages for your side instead of figuring out something that works for both sides.

Its far worse than before
well since i wasn't 'selling' it, too bad. Other people have opinions. Don't want a penalty don't DC end of story.

I use kindred and empathy together when I solo. I can see who is being chased, when I need to get off a gen because they are coming right for me, and of course kindred lets me see 3 idiots running at a hook 2 seconds after the hook has occurred, meanwhile i stand there and sigh with my 'we'll make it" uselessly sitting there in my perk slot.
Whats worse you say?
When you have kindred, are hooked, the killer is barely a foot away, your team mates can SEE the killer is barely a foot away, and they still run in without BT for the pointz!

no wonder why you hate her, she say ######### you to your perks
Were you simply waiting in the starting blocks to be antagonistic, or did his post hurt you in some way? Pretty sure they just answered the question this post asked of them. The aggressive defence isn't necessary.
For me its Freddy. I agree he needed a change but i think they went too far out the other side. Even in KYF most tend to groan and just not have fun. But fun is a perspective thing so at the end of the day if people enjoy playing him, its a moot point. I just won't react with as much enthusiasm as i would when facing something like old nurse.
-
The whole point of the pigs trap is to waste your time. 80% of the time, people have time to visit all boxes on the map, unless they are being tunnelled. The pig was already solidly nerfed for reasons i really can't imagine, and if anything requires a buff. There is no earthly reason why the pigs trap should be narrowed down to two boxes.
If it wasn't possible, i might agree with you, but i have seen it dozens of times and experienced it myself. Getting the trap off, even if you have to visit 4 boxes, is entirely possible, even with the timer going. And so is getting it off first try.

You do know Killer is supposed to be the power role, right? Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with Second Chance perks. The issue is that almost all of them synergize super well, EPSECIALLY DS/UB. If they were just reworked to not be so strong combined things would be fine. I read a suggestion once that proposed a "loadout system" similar to COD.
There is a big difference between being the power role and just fixing things to your liking because they make the game challenging. Some perks might well need looking into. But the list of "This isn't fair" is way too long on both sides.
-
Call me crazy. But aren't both tactics a viable option?
Yes you can cleanse totems as you go. Plus side, you're potentially getting rid of NOED early in the game, you get points, you feed inner strength if you have it. Cons, you risk the killer catching you in the act, you have no knowing if other totems have been cleansed.
You can also memorise where totems are and cleanse it when NOED hits. Pro's, you spend more time on gens and don't risk getting caught in the open. The totem is lit and possibly easier to spot. Killer will likely camp hooked survivor and give you time to search while someone 99's the gates. Cons. NOED could be well hidden, killer might not camp and instead snowball.
Both have advantages and disadvantages and tbh i'll pick either one over doing nothing and then coming to the forums to complain about a counter-able perk.
Everyone has tactics that work well for themselves but might not be for others. Doesn't make it invalid.

The actual topic of discussion isn't the difficulty of playing either role, but rather how it "feels" to play one role in particular.
"players who...can't compete at any level..." is more of a personal attack and a disregard for the overall topic of discussion. But I really don't expect much else from you ;)
100% of my matches on Sunday were 3k w/hatch or 4k but "winning" isn't the topic "how it feels to play the game" is.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1225784#Comment_1225784
You already answered the question.
People keep talking about balance and how specific things affect their experience. What they're not considering is that balance should be applied in order to improve the experience for everyone.
The things people talk about feel unfair and take away from the positive experience of the game. This is what I'd like to see change.
I'm sure there are many things that you find frustrating in the game, and with one or two tweaks could make that thing less frustrating and more fun to go against or deal with without punishing the other side.
People like to disregard what I say and put words in my mouth, but my goal is a more fun experience for both sides through balance.
Whether that's what you hear from my posts and videos or not, is not within my control.
I'm aware, but I wanted the OP's opinion on what he would plan to do should all the things he finds distasteful be removed. The question isn't about whether balance should be applied to both sides, it should. But when someone is complaining about a VAST array of the other sides utilities, which this post is, and not offering a counter balance should they all be removed, i'm interested in seeing what they think might happen if all those stressful problems were just to suddenly disappear.
What do they realistically think will happen to the playerbase as a whole?
As for things i find frustrating in the game? I accept them as part of the game and adapt. I don't preach that my way is the right way, but neither will i wail and gnash my teeth because I got face camped or DS'd at the gate. I accept that this is the game and I am here to play it. Not prune it to my liking. Again, a personal opinion.
I don't tend to watch many DBD streamers anymore, it all comes down to eventually some bias showing, how can it not. Personally I'll stick to watching streamers who simply have fun playing the game.
And for the record, I would say exactly the same to a survivor sided post complaining about a large array of killer utilities. Again, I'm all for balance, but a lot of people simply think its a case of "Remove this, I don't like it"
-
@Zagrid said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1225662#Comment_1225662
I knew someone would just disregard them. You didn’t even look at the post.
And I did quit since February, but I want to come back. The game has potential to be fun again but it’s people who are complacent with these issues and survivors being the loudest voice with the largest wallets preventing those changes from being done.
Having read your post, it seems to be saying "Survivors should not be able to help themselves" You mention perks, items and addons that make killer life difficult. These are of course their intended use, as are killer addons/perks and powers. You made a single example, so I can guess that your list of complaints about perks/items/addons and tactics is quite a bit longer.
So. Say that you are offered exactly what you want. All 'second chance' perks removed. The ability for survivors to save their friends or themselves from being carried or slugged removed, or perhaps nerfed to the point where it has no 'stressful impact' upon killers. What then, will keep survivors in a game where half of their utilities are removed with no offered compensation for the fact.
I'm interested in your solution to this. Because you see, its not as easy as saying "Just remove these things". Balance does not mean "Better for my side only" and I feel BHVR would encounter some serious financial issues when survivors realise they have been seriously crippled with no way to balance it out. That is the issue i have with such posts like this. You want something for your side and offer no sensible balancing out for the other side.
The message i keep hearing here is "I'm not the power role, so this must go"
Perhaps that is not your intended statement, but it's how these posts end up sounding. And no, nothing in my post history suggests I'm an 'entitled survivor main' I play both sides, I'm happy for healthy balance changes, but I am also immediately suspicious of 'balance this' posts that don't offer balance for both sides. Just their own, and do so with a tone that suggests the other side is being unfair for simply using the tools the game have provided them.
-
I'm glad they removed hatch standoffs by adding the end game challenge.
-
Can't wait to find out what the next excuse is going to be when survivors adapt to the changes and actually manage to win games still.
Oh and i do play killer, I'm fine with the new changes as a survivor and the thing I find most amusing in all of this, is the killers who have gotten what they want but feel they need to stir up some salt in the process. I mean its basically you going "Nah nah" and sticking out your tongue.
It's adorable and sad at the same time.
-
I'll celebrate the ban system every day it's here, because I was usually one of 2 or 3 chumps who got saddled with the rest of the game because some delicate flower, found one among DOZENS of reasons to DC. For once, i don't have to enter a game wondering how i'm going to be f**ked over by my own team this time, since it was a solid 50/50 chance.
You're getting camped? We all get camped, take it like a champ and move on.
Got slugged, crawl around and bleed out, or crawl away from the camping killer using you as bait. Your team either figures out whats going on,or the killer panics and hooks you.
Either way, I am prepared to sound utterly heartless for once and say, I really don't care what the excuse is, bans need to stay because its the only way I, and many many others like me, can get a solid game where we aren't f**ked within 5 mins by susie survivor DCing because of reason A. B and C.
Sorry, but my sympathy died up around 200 DC's ago. (over two years, that is NOT an exaggeration)
-
Reward the killer for his camping.. Do all gens. Do any gen near the basement first, this means by the time he's lost his hook buddy, you guys are nowhere near the basement. Kindred is a win in these situations. But most of all...don't feed the basement.
-
If you want to be able to hand pick your opponents resources....go play a game with bots. Otherwise learn to get over the fact that players are going to play what they want when it comes to perks.

Okay. Thank you for pointing out the obvious.
Now. Why don't you tell us all how you would solve the issue without crippling the game?
Go ahead...we'll wait...

Ok to start off, yes I play killer. Yes I have been DS'd, and no I don't think a one time use perks need nerfing once again, even if i have never used it since it doesn't fit my playstyle.
Not everything is handed to survivors either when it comes to guessing what the killers using. Killer moves away from the hook without stopping to check around? Might be Devour hope. Killer beelines right to you....BBQ? Crap, i'd better hide in lockers from now on. Make your choice...nobody knows about that one till it happens. Iron Maiden. Trappers injury addons. Stridor. Spirit fury. And biggest of all, survivors never know who they are going up against. There are plenty of perks that survivors don't know about till they get hit.
And as mentioned before. There is no 'robbing' you of a kill you haven't yet made.

Dead hard is so predictable as a killer. If you are regularly getting juked because of dead hard that is honestly your own fault. Half the time it leaves you exhausted on the ground.
DS is dumb sure, but then again so are things like mori's, camping the basement, camping hooks with stealth killers and it's about the only thing that is going to get you away from those.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1215094#Comment_1215094
I play mostly killer. And I think it's a joke that you think people can find all the totems on map like Lery's without significantly hindering your team. Maybe you can run some garbage totem hunting build and leave yourself exposed to a killer playing really cheap instead? I think it's hilarious you can literally sit in front of the hook invisible with wraith and smack them straight back down for a free hook/kill if they don't have DS.
Errrr....plenty of people hunt down and find the totem, even on leary's. It's not a garuntee by any means, but it's utterly false to say it isn't entirely possible, especially if the person on the hook is on their first. At the end of the day you do you but I'll keep hunting down that shiny totem and negating NOED if it's all the same to you :)

I don't envy their position, either, particularly because I rarely come across Group 1. That's me, what you described at the end, "F*#$ this S$1* I'm out"
The quality of survivor (and gen speeds and maps) has gotten so high that killers all but rely on survivor mistakes in order to make any headway with little to do about rank. It's just not fun playing killer anymore and I used to love it.
It sucks for us too dude. I play SWF rarely, but when I do, I'm firmly in group one. We don't use meta perks. Communications usually go like;
"Arrrgghhhhhh it's MYERS!"
"Son of a-- you just made me miss a skill check!"
"HE'S GONNA GET MEEEEE"
"Haha, good luck noob"
And we're always willing to have fun with the killer.
I know this doesn't lessen the sting for killers who have to face four man survivor seal teams. But it does hurt us almost as much as you because you are right, we're becoming fewer and farther between, and we get thrown in with every survivor that makes a killers life hell with the constant BMing. We do exist, we are not the magical unicorn!
-
Of for the love of god, it's embarrassing to see other survivors still whine about NOED.
You do not even have to do 5 totems!!
Totems have a finite number of locations, some of them fairly obvious and you'll always remember where the well hidden ones are (I'm looking at you mr 'hidden in a log pile and a bush' at Dead Dawg). if you can work out looping spots on most maps, you can remember most obvious totem spots, not to mention you'll run into them in the game.
Gens pop, totem procs...uh oh, killer has NOED.
Most killers will camp the newly hooked NOED victim and even if they don't you can still 99% the gates, hunt down the LIT totem and break it. Killer now no longer has NOED, your gates need barely a sneeze to open and you can heal up and make the hook save.
It is not hard people. Yes there will be games where NOED will screw you over, but that is the game. It's not about what you think is fair or what you think killers should be using. It's about using your brain and understanding that the sky isn't falling just because you have an exposed status.
NOED is a risk for the killers to take, because if they are against savvy survivors, the most it can do is down one person. But if the players aren't on the ball, refuse to do bones or just run at the hook for a save...well you just handed the killer your butt.
NOED isn't going anywhere, better do what the rest of us do and learn to counter it. If you refuse to do the counters on principle...that's on you.
-
Self care has its place and always will, in clutch situations it can be a lifesaver. Yes, as someone who runs a lot of aura reading perks (empathy, kindred etc) it can be frustrating seeing someone self care in a corner, but that is their playstyle and you have no control over that.
I'd personally like to see more variaty being used when it comes to survivor perks, but I'm not going to call for DS, BT, Ubreakable to be removed. The truth is, you can be frustrated, you can see a better way to be a team mate with your perks, but you can't force people to play how you want the to, whatever you think of self care.
Personally I prefer solidarity or inner strength for the time saving it provides me when it comes to self healing.
If I were to ever ask anything of survivors it would be don't run all the way across the map to self care after I have unhooked you and you have a blue "We'll make it" buff symbol at your bottom right. I have given up on chasing people in order to get them quickly healed and back on gens.

Queues are so bad because killer players are leaving the role. More killers, more rounded MMR, faster queue times. It's only this last patch and the upcoming one that FINALLY something has been done to help killers (gen speeds not being one of them outside of the toolbox changes).
The killer role has been getting killed and it drives killer players (like me) away from it.
I don't believe I have disputed any of the above facts you have mentioned and this really doesn't have much to do with the subject at hand. If Killers return, great. Still doesn't mean they won't dodge the second they even 'suspect' you are in an SWF at the moment, nor will they refrain from doing so if an SWF was revealed at the start of the match. I'm not really here to wag my fingers at killers that dodge, that's their business. My point is, adding an SWF marker at the start, will never help que times, it would in fact make the que times worse.

They should reveal this information about SWF on the end-game scoreboard!
I really wouldn't have an issue with this, heck I've lobbied for a long time that facing an SWF should come with a little extra BP at the end. As long as we aren't falling into the "Punish swf by handicapping them" territory, because again, this would cause more issues than it would solve, especially with que times.

Everyone who is bothered can. You can see their profiles see who they are friends with and private profiles can be taken as swf.
Except my profile is private due to killers repeatedly sending offensive messages. I'm not in an SWF. In fact a lot of players on both sides do this to prevent having to deal with toxicity.

It would. Because if killer see swf killer will either prepare or dodge. What they do now? They check their profiles and dodge or prepare afterwards. Which like i said is only a waste of time. SWF mark would allow killers to prepare instantly.
Bringing mori hurts swf?
Here is the reality of the situation. Not every killer can tell an SWF, i get accused of it nearly every week while playing solo. So it's a falsehood to say killers can just tell. A very large percentage of killers WILL dodge swf if they get an indicator.
Suddenly que times are massive for survivors. Even if you don't care about survivor wait times, the devs now have a problem, people are already fed up of wait times as they are, add to it, and suddenly they are losing players. Meanwhile, the people who really want to circumvent this SWF marker, are dodging lobbies so they can get with their friends without having an SWF marker...que's now take even longer.
People can say that killers won't dodge if you were given an SWF marker, but since they dodge for items and sometimes even offerings, that statement is a fallacy.

Sorry but nerfing Thana is not necessary. We can counter it by healing, or just push through on the gens. Really isn't an issue for a perk that only does a certain percentage of slowdown effect.

The reason he isn't is because Hillbilly goes at a higher speed with little control, while LF goes at a slower speed with more control.
Pretty much this here. If his speed was lowered even more, he would be an utter nightmare to use. The one time I tried to play Billy outside of KYF silliness, I happened to get the Haddonfield map. That was a horrific match and I can't Imagine how awful it would have been if he was even slower when revving. Now put that speed decrease on red ranks with decent loopers and Billy is going to have a baaaad time.

Very true. But yet it just the fact that some SWF are just toxic like it’s ok if they are Toxic but it’s not ok if the killer is Toxic. Now I’m saying not all SWF are Toxic. It’s that those few who are. Just think it’s ok if they DC but it’s not ok if the killer DC you know what I am trying to get at.
You do realise this goes both ways right? Killers do it too. It's not a role issue its a person issue. You do not automatically turn into a toxic butt-hat the minute you log in as survivor, nor do you turn into an oppressed saint if you are playing killer. Both roles have the capacity to be highly ridiculous, it's just easier to notice when the ratio is 4 - 1.

These posts are so silly. Killers got this ego thing and can't realize that they're being run by solo players all day long. Everyone that's decent is a SWF team. Just constantly talking about how SWF is so strong. So broken. Yet playing today as a solo... I played a lot of matches. 3-4 people escape almost every game and we're solo. The only time people get killed is because NOED is super meta right now. And they usually get a NOED kill at EGC and camp the one guy for their kill. SWF isn't an issue at all. People are just really good at survivor. That's what will happen if you spend 5,000 hours running the same loops over and over again.
As a solo player without meta perks who constantly gets friend invites so killers can circumvent my having turned messages off, to tell me i'm an SWF cheater...I couldn't have put this better if I tried.

Ok let me explain why.
The killer has stopped you from completing all gens and from escaping through the hatch. He or she has been triumphant and bas stopped your best efforts. Do they deserve the 4k? Yes because they played better, but does that mean the survivor can't manage to pull it back? Of course not. There is always a chance.
Sorry but I still don't agree with the idea of 'deserves'. No survivor 'deserves' the hatch just because they did 4 gens but 3 people died. And no killer 'deserves' that fourth kill unless they make the fourth kill. The devs have literally stated that the game is not over untill all are dead or have escaped. Those are the parameters for winning and losing, not who 'deserves it'.
I've had games where i have literally ran around like a blue bummed fly doing gens, hook rescues, totems like a champ. 3 potatoes die because they rushed hook and got slugged.
Do I at that point deserve the hatch or a free run at the gates simply because i played well? I can guarantee most killers would say "Hell no"

Ban SWF. Everyone wins.
Not really. Whether you like SWF or not, there is no denying that being able to play with friends is a large part of the survivor attraction. You nix SWF and it'll make wait times now seem like a picnic. A huge bunch will move onto other games, while the rest will go back to lobby dodging to play with their friends.
I'm not advocating for either side here, 90% of my games are solo and my friends and i prefer to mess around in KYF. But you cannot deny that simply banning SWF will have a huge impact on this game and not for the better. Personally I'd like to give killers a chance not to feel so isolated by allowing 2 killers to team up against several survivors.
I think a lot of SWF forget that. When you screw up, have a bad game...you get to laugh and vent and mess around with your mates. Killer doesn't get to do that, they are stuck with their own frustration, and that just breeds bad feelings after a while.

If Billy could take turns without issue, i could see this idea as being ok. But Billy does not have Huntresses freedom of movement when he fully powers up his chainsaw. Even with addons, he can be a b*tch to turn and if a survivor just jukes to one side, that chainsaw is either missing or you hit an object, triggering a slight stun.
The reason Billy is allowed to rev, is that he has to pick his moment to full rev and rush forward. If you are looping him in circles or around pallets, he can't just spam it. So he'll hold half rev and wait for a moment where there aren't quite so many obstructions and not many circles for you to run him around.
I hope this explains a bit, though I am sure a Billy player can explain it better. :)

It's a stupid term used by both sides to justify being d**ks to each other, and justify copious cries for nerfs/buffs.
It's just another way for both sides to wail "It's not fair"
I don't mind the new changes, will adapt to them as i have every other change, but the whole mentality of "This is how the game should go for me and anything less is unfair" is just astoundingly ridiculous for a game that is supposedly populated by people over 18.

How lol?
You can go watch game play footage of survivors abusing map design.
Yes, because using the maps as they were designed, by devs, not survivors, is totally 'abuse'.
I'll make it very clear this time. I have NO issues with the new map changes, i hope they do improve the game and help simmer down some of this absurd toxicity and victim complex that seems to surround both sides.
My issue is the fact that ANY player will use what its most effective within the games design. It's clear the devs intended for all those looping areas to be there, that's why it has taken so long to fix, because nobody wanted to admit they might have tipped the balance too far, hence the bandaid fixes. I don't debate whether they needed to be fixed, with so much outcry it was clear what needed to be done. I take exception to the fact that people call anything, even intended game design, as abuse. That goes for perks, addons, powers, items and tactics too.
Did it need to be changed, yes. Were the people playing on the old design before that abusing map design by being halfway decent at looping? No, because the DEVS designed it, the DEVS left it in the game and that isn't a fact that can be washed away. Every player uses any means necessary and it isn't abuse to get better and better at one of few countermeasures available. The killers reached their breaking point and the devs eventually listened. Well done. I genuinely hope it helps. But stop calling everything a survivor does as abuse because it's getting silly now.

It's crazy how they created the EGC to minimize survivors taking hostage of the game wheb now, killers need their 4k that they will slug 1 survivor down ubtil they find the other so on and so forth until they either bleed out or get the 4k. IF 1 survives, killer gets hatch then like you said, gets to monitor the two exit gates that are ofteb close to eachother. What I've begun to do with my teamate instead of trying to finish last gen we just creep pn map until killer AFC or messages. If they want to take hostage of the game for a 4k then i will take hostage to survive.
Slugging is not taking the game hostage. Even as a survivor player I can understand the logic in it.
@Cheers said:
If the killer killed 3 survivors AND found the hatch first, you don't deserve to win. Simple as that.
This game is not balanced around who 'deserves' to win, it is balanced around two teams trying to outwit each other. The killer could find the last survivor first, they win fair and square. The survivor opens the gate and gets out, they win fair and square. The game does not guarantee
a 'deserved' kill just because you kill the other 3 or because you closed the hatch. Given that the killer is now at an advantage since the survivor only has one way to go, if the survivor outwits you and gets out, they earned it.
On the subject of hiding the light...not really a fan of the idea. Not all doors are next to each other or easily accessible to low mobility killers. All a survivor would have to do is partially open the gate, hide, rinse, repeat. The killer would have no idea where to go and in the interests of fairness when the endgame truly is 1v1 I don't see this as being right.
