Thanks a lot for your answers!

Hasn't stopped me. ¯_(ツ)_/¯The rule is basically that you gotta' be a good example. You're free to post as you want, but you also need to make sure that you're constructive and civil about it, because you have to lead by example.
Oh, that reminds me. A thing "I" (any mod) could do - that I saw in a zetetic forum, where the mods were also part of the controversial threads - is to differenciate regular answers from "mod" answers with a "mod" tag (between brackets, like a bold/italic tag) so that at one point people know what they can discuss without worry (because it's the player who talks) and what is a neutral mod answer with the purpose to calm down any derailed thread!
I think it's a good tip for anyone that wants to apply to be a mod but is afraid to how they should behave. But I guess, if they weren't banned yet, they already have a proper behaviour?

On a serious note. Someone asked if the forums will be harsher because of some mods behaviour. My question is the opposite: does being a mod prevent you to participate in controversial threads? It might sound silly, but I have the feel I don't see mods that often on steam for example, I know they are active behind the scene, but it's like they censor themselves on purpose to not give a bad impression of their team...

No, they don't need it. Making the Hag taller would break the lore imo (a girl that became a monster).Actually she is not that small, she is just curled up!

Unlike stated above, Ruin is far to be "mandatory" on her anymore. I play without hex at all in high rank and I'm doing really great. A lot of my mates dropped Ruin as well since her Cube. Hag has the most powerful snowball / control power, your goal is to kill as fast as possible, and you can do it with a proper strategy.
My high rank build is currently the following: Monitor & Abuse to hide my position, Agitation to reach some dangerous hook spots (very important, it's sometimes the key to victory) + speeds up the game + protects my traps, Make your Choice as a psychological pressure perk to slow down the game, last perk can either be Nurse's Calling to track or Save the Best for Last to be a kill machine. Enduring and Brutal Strengh are also good perks on her, I just prefer perks that directly enhance my power ^^ Devour Hope is a powerful perk but it is unfortunately a hex perk and will most often be destroyed after 30 seconds into the trial.
Hag is a pretty versatile character and a lot of perks work wonderful on her. Eventually you might find a completely different build that what we adviced and it's good, it's important to find your own way to play

Balance? How a bloodpoint bonus gives you a tactical advantage?
BBQ has a bloodpoint bonus to reward people for not camping, not ultra-tunneling. -
@DepravedKiller said:
Dude it's his first post!, @bruhtrain the devs love feedback but they are aware of camping and tunneling.They have said during the Q & A stream this is part of the game. The killer can decide to camp the hook or leave it.
No Changes in the near future to implement anything to counter it.However with that being said they might take your idea into consideration but they normally don't punish players.
From what I understand, they prefer to "reward" people for not-camping instead (BBQ, Make your Choice). I prefer this way of thinking, it's more positive. Either way you still have Borrowed Time if needed.
-
You need to downgrade your version.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=os-e5gdydioI followed this tutorial, and now it works perfectly fine for me.
-
Nurse, Hillbilly, Huntress. Braindead powers, but I guess that's why they're so popular.
-
I'm a chess player, so my first choice is obviously Hag, but Pig and Freddy can also do some interesting moves.
These times, I'm learning a very agressive Doc with a build I saw in Fungoose's stream, pretty fun, but I have trouble to pressure gens ^.^
-
@Khalednazari Amazing! Good job!

DS user ragequitted then complained on my profile about a "facecamp" (doesn't make sense with my Devour Hope stacks but oh well!) haha

Show me a hag main that manages to deal with genrush. Because no matter what I try, I cant do anythign against it.Genrush is a global issue for all killers, but if you mean especially: how to manage your time as the Hag, then the answer is: you slug A LOT. You have a power that slows down altruism, use it at your advantage!

Survivors may just as well run Déjà Vu.
-
They claimed they don't want to remove survivor's HUD at all. The Third Seal is still being discussed, though, as part of the Hag Cube.
-
You don't have to Prestige. You can still level up past 50+ to get more perks.
-
@MrDrakanator said:
in fact she needs way more buffs to her core power than she is getting.lmao x'D
-
No, it means it forces a phantasm to pop (trump Rusty Shackles) and you can't teleport to it at your will (trump Mint Rag). It should work with Waterlogged Shoe, since the shoe slows down survivors within trap's radius, regardless of it being triggered (it slows you down when you crouch within the radius as well).
-
+1, WGLF needs more love, or at least a rework to not make it a toxic sandbag perk, while buffing the bonus Bloodpoints.
-
@MrChills said:
The only thing on the hag that make get nerf is mintrag. Mintrag, with make your choice, and a red/green mori was strong( even without the moris) some of these changes with the right add-ons plus the exhaustion add on might make mintrag build op. if it does, mintrag will be nerfed. the only thing to worry about here is if you run mintrag often on the hag. Nothing will get nerfed but mintrag.Mint Rag is training wheels, it's good for campers, horrible for people experienced with her since it makes you less dynamic overall.
What is the "exhaustion addon" you're talking about?
-
Actually her speed buff would be faster than the most powerful combo we can do right now. Tinkerer + green necklet + yellow necklet is 2.9 seconds. Buff is planned to be 2 seconds!
-
Yes, he has the best learning curve / results ratio, and is probably over powered compared to the other killers. But compared to survivors, his kit is balanced ; in other words, we need overpowered killers to face survivors (who are overpowered in the current state of the game).
-
Even better: no timer at all. You block ONE window from the whole map, until you vault another one. I don't feel it's "overpowered" since you waste a whole perk slot for that.
-
You don't want to insta-lunge after a teleport, but to relocate yourself (see clearly the survivor, like the Nurse) then less than 1 second after you teleported, lunge. You need to build again your speed, teleport sets you back to 0 speed.
It also depends of your trap placement, where the survivor is looking. If they go back to you - you can lunge. If they are "pushed" away from the trap, use it as a way to catch up then you play like a casual killer. This is also why you need to work with bodyblock, "pulls away" traps and such.
-
I ignore the "clicky clicky" DS users, usually they will follow me around and I can just bait them. I learned with time they're not that good, they're even terrible when it comes to mindgame, because they usually rely way too much on pallets.
-
... Do you mistake speedhacker with... Sprint Burst?
I mean, 80% is a pretty bold assumption. Or your internet might be ultra laggy.
-
Training wheels Hag: Hag with Mint Rag and Rusty Shackles.
Bootleg Trapper: Hag with Scarred Hand
-
Male: Meg
Female: Amanda -
Play what is most fun for you. It's the most important, it's a video game. Besides it's not like you can only rank up with the holy 3 (which is pretty overrated imo, they're also popular because they are straightforward), I rank up quite easily with the Hag, and I'm pretty sure you can perform very well if you master Doc / Pig / Myers. And other killers - you will have a harder time sure, but it's not impossible, if you enjoy them it will be easier for you to rank up since less stress.
-
My eyes... THEY BURN XD
-
@Shadoureon Not SwF at all............. x)
-
Fun fact.
A while ago, I "designed" a Scissorman killer for DbD. The idea was basically the following: short killer, shorter terror radius, Hag speed, deadly in close range.
Months later, Leatherface came out, with the same idea in mind: a killer deadly if close to you. Well, execution failed, but the idea remained the same.
I'm totally up for Scissorman in DbD. One of the first horror video game, an iconic slasher as well.

omg .. i can't belive that killers now starts to ask for outfit redesigns. What else do you wan't? remove the ability to run?!Because using a character (and a set of outfits) because you know they will be invisible is skills, for you?

If survivors just wanna have fun: 12 minutes.
If they just want to play like intended (do the gens - escape): 4 minutes. -
Nice changes! I don't really think Bond needs a buff (it's IMHO the best survivor perk ever), I would like Distressing to change terror radius to a flat 40m regardless of the killer, that would make "terror radius builds" more viable on Myers and Hag, for example. It will also be neat on Freddy - you don't hear the terror radius, you don't see him, yet you have to deal with Coulrophobia and such.

When survivors give up on life because they have no way to win this game.

Survivor game. This one has a story: I was injured, Hillbilly was patrolling downstairs. He found me, I managed to juke him once. He found me again, I was stuck in a dead end, he was too greedy for the chainsaw hit but somehow I managed to escape this one, too. Juked him again with Balanced Landing during his stun. After several stressful minutes, I eventually found the hatch! I wish I recorded this game, the endgame was so exciting!
-
I only farm when there are 2 survivors on the map (DC), when I hook, I make big signs with my head, then go afk very far away, etc. I know I can win this either way so even if they are afraid, I cary them until gens are powered. Basically I just "play" with them while being sure they don't die in the process.
Though I'm not sure how you're supposed to farm, as a killer, in a 4v1. If you play the game like intended you should get a lot of points.
-
@No_Cluie_Louis said:
I can't believe there's a thread recommending camping and giving advice on how to do it. Unless there are people around the hook, camping makes it harder. I'm a killer main and i never understand why other killers think like this. Play fun, well and fair, not boringly, badly, and unfairly.You know, I tried some times ago to be "fair" and "fun". No meta perk. No Ruin. No NOED. No camp. No tunnel.
In the end? I'm rewarded with teabagging, spamming windows near the exit gates on the complete opposite side, or even better, game hostage (and that happened way more than I would have expected).
People don't want "fun" in this game.

Si, mais ce n'est en soi pas une "tactique" mdr. Si tu focus juste à jouer pour jouer, tu n'es pas supposé avoir de problème, c'était mon point !

Not sure how it is stupid.
The big difference is that it will FORCE the obsession to take hits in order to slow down the killer, which will put the obsession in danger in some manners, which is... A nice feature, for once.I have mixed feelings about the buff to the perk. On the one hand, yay, we're finally not slowed down after hitting them after they vault and be at a disadvantage. Not to mention you effectively counter body blockers now. But on the other hand, sooner or later you have to deal with the obsession, you can't just ignore them the entire time .
I really wish we had 5-6 perk slots to play with.
My strategy will be the following: I will just play like if I have 3 perks, STBFL will be a bonus. If I happen to hook my Obsession, I will try to camp to farm the max tokens before ensuring my Obsession dies. Not sure how I will do it, though, I'm terrible when it's about camping, I need pressure on the gens.
Camping is legit. Never feel bad about doing it or "tunnelling."
Lol, it's not about that, I actually don't know how to camp well. And it's quite ironic since I'm a Hag main. I think I panic way too much because I'm afraid to lose pressure on the map, so I take the first bait available.

It is not even a flat % reduction, it's a token system... They made that to avoid this perk being overpowered. I would gladly have a 40% flat reduction since the start of the game, but you know.

First of, urban evasion doesn't make your speed faster than your walking one. It makes your crouching speed the same as your walking speed. Also if you have make your choice crouching to save your friends is helpful for the hag. Often when a survivor triggers the trap near the hook, the hag teleports to it and make your choice doesn't activate. That way it does and a lot of survivors trigger the trap on purpose after the save which means easy one hit for the savior, easy hook.Yes my bad for saying its faster when due to low FOV making it seems faster, anyhow the main problem with Hag's rework is the addons
On this point, all downsides will be removed from her addons up to green with the upcoming update. For purple and pink: yes, most of them are awful, because they are (mostly) meant to be a "new game mode" like Scratched Myers. But hey, I don't mind it. I played with mostly brown addons for nearly one year, now I will be able to use green addons without worry, lol. One of our fellow is currently discussing with the devs to buff/rework some her higher rarity addons. Not the priority of her Triangle Cube, though.

Do you really think survivors have time to crouch the whole game?
Also, with the upcoming update, she will have her Tinkerer build in her base kit. No need for necklets anymore.There's a perk called Urban Evasion and it works extremely well, it's even much faster than as if you're walking. Putting traps near hooked survivors are useless. Survivors aren't dumb, they can just crouch and then save their friends
What does that mean? That means you have to camp with the Hag, the setting time should have been in her kit from the beginning.
The addon changes for the higher tier ones are still as bad. Rusty Shackles, Granma's Heart and Disfigured Ear is still as useless as always. and the changes they did with Waterlogged Shoe is just lazy. If they want to make a Killer viable they can't be just half-arse on this
Ultra Rare is meant to be powerful, not something that hindered you or put you in a handicap
Posting examples of successful Hag mean nothing, I can easily get 3-4 man as Freddy and Wraith, even he Hag too which is the worst killers, and if you look on evilcynthia all his games are games that were successful and 4 man Jones, I highly doubt all his games are like that
Yeah, I expected the Urban Evasion talk soon or later. You should really watch SpaceCoconut's Hag tutorial if you haven't seen yet. But I'll sum it up for you: Urban Evasion will never be an issue for the Hag. Never, ever.
If you urban evade / watch the whole game. You hinder yourself at a 56.5% speed, while the Hag can move at a 110% speed. That means you will take an insane amount of time to travel around the map, fix the gens, make rescues, while I can freely patrol between gens and hunt with my low terror radius. You just don't exploit Hag's most weakness, which is the genrush. Besides, by overly crouching, you protect her traps, that means: 1. she will down you really quickly as fast as she finds you 2. you save her even more time since she won't have to trap again.
Really, this is the worst you can do against a Hag. I remember playing with a cute streamer back then, as soon as she realized it was a Hag, she started urban evading anywhere. As soon as I hear a trap, she saw me leaving the gen to run everywhere on the map and locate her web.
On your other point. I'm a high rank Hag. I barely bother with the camp. I don't need to, because of the pressure I can put on the map. Hell, it's even the character I camp the less with. But either way. You don't want to listen to anything. We told us we don't have issue at all with the high ranks. Yet you just stick with your beliefs. Stay with them, I don't like stubborn people.
-
@Someissues said:
Yes, and did you forget why Hag is so weak? People can just crouch and ignore her traps. Even if it doesn't have a cooldown it wouldn't be as overpowered and it would make it a great addon. Many Hag mains doesn't use it and much prefer the trap setting time due to the fact that if you take this addon you won't be able to deal with pallet loops well. Nor will you be able to deal with jump loops and other issuesEven after the rework if the Devs leave the addons as is Hag will still be a weak killer
Do you really think survivors have time to crouch the whole game?
Also, with the upcoming update, she will have her Tinkerer build in her base kit. No need for necklets anymore.Now, I don't really like Mint Rag, because it forces you to face the right trap and makes you less dynamic overall.
The first part of her rework (because it is not finished yet) will make her really close to the Nurse in term of pressure and overall strengh. I will even completely remove Ruin from my builds, it won't be really needed anymore, I prefer perks like STBFL or The Third Seal that can snowball really quicky with her ability.
You don't realize how powerful these buffs are for Hag - machine gun build by default.
If you still have doubt about how effective she can be at high ranks, I suggest you to watch Evil Cynthia, Spectrobyss or myself. Her pressure is just insane once you master her.
-
@azazer said:
You are forgetting the part where not only is it unlimited range, you can teleport to it at will, not wait for a survivor to trip it. That is what brings the cool down, so that you aren't omnipresent.If I recall, they also plan to remove the cooldown of "teleport as your will"!

@Runiver said:
The reason is simple : the top tier killers do have more possibility than other killers, and they're not bound to the simple gameplay of chasing survivors 1 by 1 and hoping everything goes good for them.I can understand that, but the conditions of these perks prevent lowest tier killers to use them...
Take Pop Goes the Weasel for example. If you rework this perk so that: it applies the effect to the first gen you kick after a hook, but unlimited duration, everyone would have an use of this perk. Make your Choice is godlike on Hag, but really, really situational on other killers (they have to make it back to the hook, and find the proper survivor). If they buff this perk so that every survivor outside a 32m radius of you are exposed, this perk will already be way more flexible.
Like, I can understand perks aren't meant to have a synergy with every single killer. But when potential great perks are only really usable by the top-tier killers...
