I get that at low ranks its strong, but ranks 1-3 its simply a way to help you get some trackion.

I as a killer do not wanna sweat 2/3 matches against good swf with all their op perks completely untouched for years when the killer finally gets something to help early game at red ranks and its nerfed within 3 months.

The devs say they want something to help with early game... well you had it but all the bad survivors complained so you nerfed it into the ground immediately.

If they complain about something as simple as doing totems what the hekk are you ever gonna be able to do to help early game lol

Devs need to get a back bone, stop babying bad survivors and force them to learn how to loop in a chase.

not trying to be a prick, but it could also be argued that ruin/undying combination as it stands was babying bad killers too. Just saying a polarized perspective is not going to help at all. The reasons that drove people toward the combo won't be as likely to be addressed by themselves personally if they constantly have it as a crutch. It's more the perpetual message sent to killers that should anger them rather than the actual effects of the nerf itself. Also the fact they paid for the perk, and might feel bamboozled should be more important than the changes to the perk. Also, the main reason ruin was paired with it was because a perk like devour gained absolutely no benefit at all with the loss of tokens, which will now be carried over although the second time the hex is cleansed it will be lost now on the flip side. I originally thought about devour when I heard of undying myself actually.

TydeTime made a video on the combo recently which you might find pretty interesting, especially in seeing what you see yourself as gaining from the use of it and why you see those gains. It boils down to survivor mistakes, ignorance or laziness really. If you stayed on gens as he mentioned in the video especially when you Knew the killer was preoccupied and if run off the gen grabbed a bone otw to another before returning to finish gens rather than being permanently scared off of them then you would see while annoying the combo is not broken at all.

It is the survivors that were broken, by the fear of the combination of perks and their discouragement. You broke yourselves, the perk combo did not break you. Fear is the path to the chudside. Fear leads to lack of motivation, lack of motivation leads to hate which then leads into deflection rather than self-reflection. Resulting in chuds crying for nerfs rather than taking the advice they tend to han out to killers and git gud. If ruin/undying was so big of a problem, then it wasn't the combo that was the problem, it was how you played that was the problem. The game doesn't revolve around survivors contrary to popular belief, sometimes they're expected to 'adapt' to. Just like they're gonna be doing against lullaby, haunted or devour soon. This is gonna be funny.

They are selling out to those with the most money. That is the majority. The price is relative. That is a lot of money to some people and not as much to others, but clearly there are more survivor whales. It is the same as catering to anyone other social class in real life who makes them the most money. It is just virtualized and within the game environment itself. We have to 2 asymmetric classes here. One is treated well, one is bullied. Period.

Actually, most of the perks you Need as survivor in fact All of them are free perks now included with the base game and on meg, claudette, david and bill (jake if you want calm spirit but it's very situational and sabo is more for troll or coordinated swf while iron will is great against spirit but otherwise if you get hit by any other killer you screwed up already) and spinechill is a powerful perk with a bump to vault so even good for swf and does not need to be ground out at all in the teachable sense. DS is not Necessary, and I rarely have it actually put to use since I try to avoid the killer or am back on a safe gen rather than one in a killer's face after being unhooked. Sometimes I stopped using it altogether except for rough nights which were not very often that they got rough enough that I felt I needed an obsession deterrent or would actually need to proc ds or use calm spirit in the game and don't always have them in my loadouts any more. Killers do get doctor and hag/ruin on console, but otherwise need to buy most helpful perks or more mobile killers outside of specced wraith which is pretty mobile.

For a NEW player, the amount of dlc to buy is overwhelming, but they aren't gonna use most of those perks or killers and should look at which ones they'd really need and ignore the rest or buy the survivor appearance they prefer with shards if possible so that once they unlock their vital and free teachables they could then have the sharts for that survivor or a costume on it and then grind it up to level and get all those perks on it. The same with any killer they actually wanna use that isn't licensed at least, once they've unlocked the vital teachables. Which is more important for killers, to unlock only helpful teachables, and ignore ones that clutter the webs with no practical use. I was much more efficient grinding out my psn than my steam account using the knowledge of helpful perks and killers I preferred to play as. People can seek advice on that, look at the general consensus, and use the wiki to plan out the grind and dlc purchases and to see which could be gotten with sharts.

Selling out and discrimination. Catering to the rich and well off.

8 bucks on average, sometimes 5 sometimes around 13 or 14 every 3 or 4 months is not "catering to the rich". It is to the devoted, but to be devoted you don't need to be rich for that and likely are not playing or interested in other games too frequently anyways if you're staying constantly up to date on a grindy game. I used to subscribe to 2 eq accounts to use them together at the same time for almost a few whole years straight, but it was usually the only game I played most days outside of breaks for a few weeks for another game 3 or 4 times a year and I was pretty much often broke at the time otherwise.

They've killed demons, gods, dieties, and beings from other dimensions.

But have they killed 4 survivors in one game?

  • @wildcardyo said:

It's clearly demonstrated in how bullied killers are in the mechanics and balance.

The devs give all the fixes, attention and interesting perks to survivors, the majority of the population.

This game teaches you to gang up on those who are different and in a minority by giving you way more opportunity to defeat them than they you. It is so imbalanced you are treated like a 2nd class citizen.

Then afterwards it is permitted, if not encouraged for the chat to be toxic by belittling the killers after the game when they had no chance due to the oppressive game state.

The message is clear devs. You hate minorities and are encouraging people to gang up and bully those different and weird.

Very stunning and brave, you hit the nail right on the head.

Slugging happens easiest when survivors allow it to. If I down someone, don't keep working on a gen 3 feet from me if you don't want to risk getting slugged. Don't try to heal the downed person immediately in my face, and don't rush to unhook someone if I have a slug nearby until I have already picked the second person up.

I've had 4 different 4 slugs at 5 gens in my last 10 or so matches and every single time was because the survivors thought the best strategy to go against a nurse with a down is to dogpile on top of the downed person. You're not gonna have as much of a slugfest if you leave the bodies on the floor.

If it is a common problem outside of that, then there are perks to help. I don't like bringing DS every game, but I do as insurance against someone immediately coming after me when unhooked. If you don't like being slugged, then bringing a perk to overcome it is something that may be necessary.

let the bodies hit the ... FLOOOOORRRRRR

To clarify, I don't mean it should regress at 50/75 speed.

I mean any progress should regress beyond 50 or 75%.

So the survivors can still pre-open the gate, but only up to 50%. If they do it to 70% or 99% etc, it will start to regress back down to 50%. So they can 50 the gate if they want, but its not quite as easy as 99ing the gate, allowing them to go for saves, open the gate, and even have time for a cheeky teabag.

"The nice cool breeze flowed between his cheeky tbag as he poised himself for victory, and sprung to his escape."

  • @MeltingPenguins said:

It's not just the facecamping, it's bloodwarden.

People often 99 the gates if someone is down to prevent BW from progging.

One way to solve this would be to NOT have gates regress if BW is in play, thus also telling survs that it isn't and they can just get out. (Related note: move the threshold of the gate right behind the gate too to prevent the corridor shenanigans.)

That would make blood warden obvious and even more of a waste of a perk slot outside of purely troll loadouts

Please devs, I request this one thing. Please make it where you don't have to spam Spacebar or X on the hook. Please make a new option in the settings to turn it off. I have died so many times on hook, true I might spam it a bit too fast but I hope I wont have to spam it at all.

    • In settings tab, it'll say "turn of hook struggle".
    • You can still use perks like "Deliverance" and "Attempt escape" by obviously clicking attempt escape button.
    • This wont make a big impact at all, it'll make you concentrate on what your teams doing, a good buff to solos.

How do you escape with deliverance in the struggle phase? I've tried to figure that out but never used the perk often enough when it was charged in that phase to figure it out. I assumed if i didn't use it on first hook that was it for it.

If you use Steam in China without a VPN you literally can't use it during certain times of the night and only for an hour and a half a day. The government has really strict limits on video gaming there so I'm sure a huge number of people in China use VPNs just to play more than an hour and a half a day. If that means VPNing to the US or other closer places than I guess it has to happen.

lol an hour and a half a day, and probably not able to stack that time up from during the week and use it all at once on the weekends. I would honestly not see full priced games worth paying for if we had to deal with that bs since I'd never get use out of them or even realistically finish more than 2 or 3 a year and some longer games couldn't even be fully enjoyed or finished for years like tes or witcher 3 with expansions. I would have pirated the games since the restrictions would obviously be circumvented that way, able to play as much as wanted without feeling as if money had been wasted on something hardly able to be used. No wonder groups like 3dm existed over there, they were basically necessary over there. At least even if they paid for it just to be able to actually use what they paid for even having to ironically apply cracks to the games they bought lmfao. And our american politicians 'look up to' china (or enjoy the kickbacks), a dark winter indeed, a bunch of them to come some day probably. The day we get that sort of bs over here is the day I would never pay for a video game I played ever again. I would go full blackbeard including things like steam emu.

Yeah I kind of ntoiced that too a couple times the last time I played, even with slippery I wasn't making it out then a couple of times when I was about to hit struggle off I go and was thinking, "oh #########, they're gonna think I just BM them I better not get found again now or I might as well not struggle since they're not coming to bring me down again". We have the tendency for negative trends to seem more apparent out of just a survival instinct really,t o avoid danger, a primal thing. It's overall probably worked way more when somebody was Not coming to pull me down over the whole time I played, just the times theyw ere coming when it's happened stand out more to me because it puts me at risk of them getting PO and leaving me up there next time.

Yeah people don't realize how good it is. I agree it's probably too strong.

It is good that an otherwise selfish perk was given a way to be helpful and promote less selfish play (it also gave it utility to bring it up with bbq in being useful beyond bp farm), it just needs a little tweak in the boost to revive speed is all in my opinion.

  • corrupt is essential imo, whether or not you are playing against one of the more gungho swf, for the hag because you have to her traps up. That probably turns a lot of people off, along with having to develop the alertness and reflexes and quick judgement to get the hang of jumping to the traps well. Effective placement, and driving survivors to the traps is also very important with her and she requires more planning and thinking than a lot of people may want to deal with. I see a lot of the bad ones just spamming 3 and sometimes 4 (lmfao, no bs) traps around the hooks and not using them much otherwise. I imagine it's much smarter placing them in one thoughtful spot around a hook to direct the escape movement or slow survivors coming in for the save. some good ones place them not directly around it and wind up catching you or the other guy on the escape when not careful some ways off in places like between trees where you might try and creep or cut through.

Not gonna lie, I had a pretty rough time getting used to it the first couple of times I tried her for an older rift. I bet some chess players might really enjoy hag. I fought what felt like solos thankfully and only cared that I got my quest done and not whether or not I killed everybody or anybody lol. But I can imagine a lot of people have a very rough game the first time they try some killers like nurse or hag and just get turned off of them, not wanting to bother getting the hang of it (maybe drastically changing their playstyle) while dealing with rough matches and just go back to the kilelr they're already comfortable with. I'm surprised more people don't play doctor, since he basically gets a free perk slot with his power helping find anybody not using calm spirit or smart enough to avoid his threat radius until he's blown static. They do need to be able to catch people of course because he's m1 when the power is down, but he's a great killer to start out with imo.

  • @Blueberry said:

People still sleeping on WGLF. Nearly one person running it and slugging for the match is nearly nonviable.

When people complain about slugging it just shows they don't play killer almost at all. Slugging is required to win against good survivors.

Literally just pick up and hook time is more than half an entire gen..every time you down someone...let that sink in. Roughly 15 seconds for a pick up and hook x3 other survivors, that's 45 seconds of gen time the other survivors gained.

yeah the revive speeds on that are a bit too high imo, too many times I've used it when the other guys got slugged to get one or two up and keep the game going and it's probably pretty frustrating to deal with when a swf abuses it against them. I did that solo. I don't want to imagine how a swf would annoy somebody with it considering you can only hit one person down at a time unless you're leatherface (unless I'm forgetting another killer that can do that on a whim).

  • @Casanova09 said:

Like do I HAVE to run unbreakable? Cause I don't want to, but this slugging nonsense is getting old

my problem was often the only time I could actually get to use unbreakable was every time I switched it out for something else because I wasn't getting to use it lol. Same issue with calm spirit sometimes where suddenly I'd get plague or a doctor (or somebody using plague's perk) right after removing calm spirit after 4 or 5 games of it burning a slot for me lol. Fortunately, I have a decent idea of how to avoid doctor in match unlike some teammates I get which keep him busy while I can get gen points before looking for the hatch.

Rank 1 could be achieved by a caveman if you gave him enough time. An absurdly generous rank system doesn't give any excuse to ignore the glaring issues on console.

Console players are absolutely capped in how good they can perform in the game at base and with certain killers. PC killers undeniably have an advantage over console killers.

pc killers certainly have an edge on console killers, but you can honestly play survivor with a pad very well... including the '360' and as evidence somebody posted a video in another thread (iirc the thread about why killers dc and it was on the second or third page and they confirmed they play on console in followup post) where they swirly the killer two times in a row before raging one into disconnecting lol. As killers though, most specifically but not entirely (due to turn speed and Precision) ranged killers are just frustrating to play as. There's even been a good chainsaw billy I saw playing on a console (might have also been windows store though, but who in their right mind would buy dbd there imo). But yeah generally you'll have a much better time adjusting to mouse control as killer.

I've seen in the PS5 system settings and UI that there is an area with mouse and keyboard options, but the games need to have the support for that enabled unfortunately and those games are probably very few. And likely the ones you'd wanna use it would be among those not allowing it for obvious balance reasons, nobody would want a guy running around with a mouse and a sniper scope 360 no scope one shotting all the other guys playing with their pads lol. I wouldn't wanna deal with that either if I still played shooters and bought one on my PS5 rather than my pc, I'd obviously have gotten a console version so I would sweat less considering the way my left arms been getting from wear and tear.

  • I think we should nerf the clear devs bias in favor of killers, which they have been making much progress with lately with these much needed changes to broken mechanics unfairly in the killers' favor. But they have a lot more work to do. Like even the queue times are still in the killers' favor, which also needs to be changed.

  • @horrortale_sans said:

  • I think the real issue everybody is afraid to address here is the killers' white privilege, and it needs to be discussed if we are to figure out how to topple the systemic racism in this game's fundamental designs and ensure the equity in outcomes for the survivors that is necessary for the health of the game. It's not pc killer privilege, it's killer privilege. Whether on console or pc they all contribute to this unfair system that is designed to screw and unfavor survivors for the benefit of the few and console killers only support that unfair system. Playing killers on a console is not an excuse, it's simply looking the other way and expecting a pat on the back for it. You can fight this injustice, by not playing killers and instead queueing as survivors in solidarity. Just let the game sit if it takes too long, that's the man trying to keep you down and discourage you, just keeping your survivors in queue is a show enough of support. Don't forget to do it in the charity pack. Who's with me. Dwight lives matter. Don't let him hide in that locker alone.

  • dang the reds and blueballed ranks are doing this every other game too? definitely not worth sitting through the queues in this game any more lol.

  • @Dennis_van_eijk said:

    As the title says.

Tbh I never understood why anyone would change last second to a character with a key or just equip a key last second.

I can understand that you were afraid to get moried, but that has changed now yet I still see it happen.

Are you not certain about your playstyle in chases or something?

If any, when survivors switch last second to a key I see them getting tunnelled and camped most of the time.

By not have the courage to equip it right from the start instead of at the last second.

I am genuinely curious why this is still a thing.

I don't understand why somebody with fast queues actually sits and stares at the timer instead of doging the lobby. At the least kill the proces in task manager or the dashboard/xmb of the console on the oferings or at least loading when theyd o that to you and restart and requeue. If done during offerings I know at least you won't get a penalty. Survivors did it all the times for moris before they were removed which is why when you got into a match with 3+ pc players and the killer's offering was hidden the game often said somebody disconnected during matchmaking and threw you back into the lobby. When i decided to stay in a lobby that had 3 or 4 pc players in it, I was expecting either somebody to drop during offerings/loading or for the killer to have a mori which turned out to happen at least every few lobbies like that lol. I started doging them even as a survivor to save myself time.

After that, I just play with my dude, here and there on it now. Just isn't worth the heartache to see all of your progress destroyed by some #########.

I avoid that specific genre of games, but I can imagine it's one that would attract that sort of cheater to it. I heard conan exiles had similar problems too. in other games like dayz I heard about wallhacks and campers aimbotting and shooting from places like beneath the ground and stuff lol. The people making the stuff, I understand why they do it, they do it because people are willing to buy it and everybody likes more money. What i don't understand is why people pay for it. It seems like a waste of money to me, especially those that expect tot urn around and buy multiple keys for the same games due to bans. Which also has led some crappy developers to do little to nothing about cheats in some games. They wanted people buying more keys. Like the devs of a game originally called warz, the firsta nd last game of that sort I remember playing regretfully, it became noturious for being a rare game valve offered unconditional refunds for when they kicked it off of the steam store and my copy was from a website before it hit steam so paypal told me to eff myself lol.

Yeah this game is messed up enough without that kind of bs too from either side. And it ruins the ability to get accurate data to make changes based on, which they're already not good enough at doing in my opinion without cheats making it harder for them. One of the most annoying cheater communities I encountered personally was the souls community though, my god those people were set out to get the victims flagged as cheaters and to destroy their save states lol. Killing the blacksmith in ds2, flagging ppl, ruining the mob hp, using all sorts of impressively crazy stuff the game did not intend for them to do like machine gunning spells with all sorts of status effects it was nuts. I played those games while internet connected with legit ptsd and save backup tools

  • @Imagine_Milk said:

So the idea of MMR for this game is for "balance". The idea of MMR is helpful for the lower ranks, but when you start getting to higher ranks, this system becomes a problem. The overall problem is when you get ranked with the I guess the less inexperienced survivors along with a killer that is clueless. In my opinion, MMR will be a setback for this game for how poorly designed it is. If a more experienced player is involved in the match with inexperienced survivors, it will be stressful for them because some players might go down instantly. This will cause expierenced survivors to complain about the way the killer and survivors played.

This is the problem with the current state of the game already. mmr is meant to make that less frequent. The main potential issue with mmr is that once you hit your personal ceiling, you may reach a point where at least as killer you'd rarely get apotato survivor and as survivor you may feel little room to develop in knowledge and skill if you're facing the same kind of situations and the ideas and tactics of the other players stagnate. and at the highest elo, it will probably become even more of a nightmare for killers. I expect half a year or so after everybody hits their ceiling retention for killers will be low at the highest elo due to troll squads lol. Cause they'll know that's all they'll ever see and that restrictions invisibly will liekly be in place to ruin 'deranking' as any hope of a break from it on a kilelr they would actually want to use. I can't wait for those kind of threads by the end of the year.

  • @tippy2k2 said:

I had something similar happen a week or two ago where there were five survivors

Although the game never actually loaded, it basically did the "Killer disconnected during load" message but there were five of us in the "running" end game picture. It was neat.

lmfao, I guess the fifth wheel finally learned what the best killer in the game is. if anybody discovers how to make that happen don't do it, they've said int he past they will ban people they find through activity logs to be exploiting that. If it happens, best suggestion is to doge the lobby, crash the game (or homescreen close app on consoles) during offerings or loading, or dc if you only notice it happened in game. Because I do remember learning there were people that figured out how to trigger that and you never know what else they may be doing.

In dark souls games there were people specifically on and invading simply to get other people flagged by the bamco server as cheaters or to corrupt their save and ruin their playthrough like some dude that made all my mobs have 1 hp. Which basically ruins a souls game. I used to have save backup tools running set to every few minutes making backups specifically to rollback out of bs like that. Some ppl devote themselves simply to destroying others' saves or getting them banned (which is something even I won't do). In a game with a playerbase like this, you can bet they'll try that here too. Nobody should rsk being the guy pulled in witht he killer and the devs banning them too for it, cause competence isn't a reasonable expectation from these devs in my opinion.

  • @REL1_C said:

So the concept of MMR is to "balance" out the game and to match survivors with "same level" killers. This idea is great until you get to high MMR, your going to have 4 solo survivors equivalent to a swf. This is also a bad design on the behalf of survivor getting paired with 4 "newbie" survivors and with a killer who doesn't know how to play, you guessed it, camping. So my conclusion, if you play killer at high MMR it'll be stressful every game, if you play survivor at low MMR then it'll be unfair for a "solo" survivors because they might Dc, go down within seconds and go complain about any killer and the way that they play.

The only real downside to it is you shouldn't expect potatoes any more, which would mostly impact the kilelr side. But most of the more annoying swf, unless they intentionally throw after ten minutes of pure hell to maintain low elo (I can see plenty doing that), should face the sweatier killers over time (probably after months). I have no idea what "about your skill level" manifests as in a game like this though, it could become sweaty for kilelrs at all levels or it could generally mean a guy or two makes it out almost every single game but the killer always gets a guy or two and feels motivated to continue playing. That sounds pretty monotonous though, if it becomes that predictable, but on the bright side if most of the toxic swf groups face the sweatiest killers at least you would be truly dealing with very few of them as long as you knew how to throw a game every few as killer.

But red rank killers already were getting tired of that becoming more frequent for them judging from some of those kind of posts from time to time hear and elsewhere. So were they to be assured thatw as all they'd ever see, I can imagine killers drying up in higher elo with nothing that could (would) be done about it. Some have said event hought hey frequently can 4k, they just get tired of the sweat and that's understandable for anybody that came across those sort of groups. With dbd's matchmaking, even rank 15 killers have been coming across a few themselves in recent months.

When I came back to the game last year for pyramid, one of the very first matches after not playing for years was against 3 red ranks with somebody in the high brown teens so that they could get a guy who hadn't played in almost 4 years by then and screw with him with all the clicky clicky, block/revive shenanigans on one of his first matches back after remembering that was the kind of stuff that made hims top playing in late 2016. So don't expect high retention of killers at high elo if it works as intended. Even though they can handle it, they're not gonna wanna. And I don't blame them one bit. During that event going ona round ph release, the killer queue was ironically longer and I felt it wasn't worth sitting through it just to have a chance of more of that bs and I started playing survivor more lol. Survivor was far less boring now than it used to be in 2016, but some of that was abusing new perks I learned about, so over time I gravitated more towards survivor until the queues started getting longer more recently. Understandably so.

With 'proper' elo and the nerf trends still going on I probably wouldn't touch anything but survivor any more, and only even that if queues got down around or under 5 minutes again eventually. Backw hen in league matches would tend to last around 50 minutes on average for me (first few seasons mainly 2 and 3 especially 3 iirc), and a few times around an hour and 20 minutes in extremely close games waiting for the big mistake to make the big push, I still wouldn't have sat sround longer than 5 minutes in queue let alone in a game with much shorter matches like this one. The only exception I remember making int he past ten years or so was waiting up to around 20 to 25 minutes for guardians of middle-earth on the original console release simply because I love middle-earth themes and I kind of liked the loadout system and faster paced action focus of that game in spite of it's flaws (including in that loadout system like being locked into it all match when hard countered).

oh no i definitely do not HATE facecampers. I am genuinely curious about it. When i play killer i tried it out and that stuff is BORING as heck. If that's what they want to do they can do it. But this killer didn't start the match facecamping. she got an instant down and hooked 2 people then chased me for two gens leaving 3 gens up and she face camped me and beat me on hook. no I didn't taunt or tea bag so this was her genuinely salty about something. lol

just like some survivors have the most fun and get the most enjoyment out of frustrating killers or wasting their time/dominating them and their experience ... there are killers with the same needs and that is one of their methods of doing it from their side of the game. Just knowing that they're living in your head afterwards, on top of dominating you and your entire experience in the match, is satisfying enoughf or them sometimes. Some people look for posts like yours as part of the satisfaction and assurance that what they're doing is effective, whether survivors, killers, or it's the boards for other games entirely with their own methods of frustrating and wasting each others' time.

In hearthstone once in a while I used the universally despised decks with an almost assurance to win when the mulligan was right like patron warrior not because it was a quick way to farm gold in a couple hours of tv a night but because I knew the other personw as rolling their eyes and waiting to see if they should instantly concede at turn 6 before getting locked into animations. I think I was one of the very first people to figure out the ten minute shudderwock turn lmfao, I was doing it in the first hour that expansion. But typically my style was thief priest when it was good, or wall priest and wallet warriors while roping and watching tv to try and create the longest match possible.

Whether I won wasn't the concern, though I used decks I often won with outside of mirror matches anyways. It was having control over the other person for every moment they failed to concede and play 2 or 3 other matches in the same amount of time with a chance to win at least one of them (back when 3 wins = 10g and zero wins = zero, ziltch, notta) that I got off on. In mirror matches, or while trying 'gimmicky for fun' decks I'd just concede when I came across somebody like me. Playing like that in hearth Now though you're just giving them xp so I lost interest in the actual ccg and only play battlegrounds or let a bot trade concedes in wild with other bots for battle pass xp (battle pass in freaking Everything now I've botted 3 games I think now because of those annoying things when I used to just play them).

Some people have different needs than just winning or playing in ways a majority might consider 'fun' for them to play. And sometimes trying to understand the typical idea of fun can be as confusing for the troll as it can be for the victim trying to understand the troll's logic. It's just a different wiring is all. I enjoy wasting others' time and knowing they're miserable, more than grinding for miniscule gains even when I win in grindy games. It's the Instant gratification I reckon, while back int he 2000s I used to 'just play' games normally before grinds became a thing outside of mmorpgs (the only genre I really enjoy a good grind). I had to change how I gained satisfaction from games over the past ten years after the stingy grinds came. When I believe I ruined somebody's match, I feel like I won and don't need to do it for days or a week or more to get that satisfaction. I blame the directions the industry took in focus. I didn't always play that way as I said, I used to just have fun just playing the older games. Now there's just too many games and too much grind and power differences between players to do that any longer. I'm one of those people that every few matches needs to waste somebody's time or use the most annoying stuff I can.

I just dont get why they play form china on american servers maybe a time zone thing idk but its annoying to be out latencied not out played is all.

yeah that is probablys hady typically, but I have no idea what's like living under a government like china's (not yet anyway) so they might have good reasons for trying to play on other servers even if it just comes down to something like ######### graphical censorship or too much censorship on the chat or something else equally silly to be imposed by a government on games running servers there. For an american (or anybody elsewhere) to do that on non local servers though, without a good enough reason like you get matches two or three times as fast on s canadian IP over an american one, it's a pretty douche move and probably intended to be used as a softcore ('legal' or mild) cheat. I use american proxies in my vpn, outside of rare situations when I wanna view something region blocked (lol region block on the internet talk about governments and industries need to get with the times).

  • that's what their hit whatever thingies on the test servers are for. there are plenty of people who's vpns give some apps issues even when split tunneling is a function available, for example activision's launcher gives me ######### even trying to run hearthstone even when the vpn is set to only function on the web browser through split tunneling. as such I don't use it while I'm actually using the computer, and as such, I'm reduced to botting hearthstone if i can rarely play it. Since I'm not gonna shut down my vpn at some dev's whim. The government is demanding enough these days to let some suit executive or pissant developer tell me how to use my computer too. they can frak off and so can any game doing that unless theyw anna buy the game and pay for my internet for me. Half of them are probably 'socialists' these days anyways so it should sound like a good idea.

I found the source of the hacks and reported them today. It was a manipulation of the PTB files and reverse engineering, including a steam spoofer AND a name spoofer. The guy seemed really good but someone messed up and didn't blur out the full link of the github. Hopefully, it gets priority.

interesting, I know there were a couple of old steam emulators back int he day mostly pirates used them though. I think one was updated in the more recent past (meaning past two or three years) by some modder or cracker. That's the one they're probably using, and if they're doing that it means the accounts used are probably disposable too which makes them even more carefree about it. Meaning it's going to become more rampant as more find out about it or find it while looking for cheats. If left unchecked that would eventually become a fairly common problem in the game. But it would make for some pretty interesting livestreams I reckon.

Sometimes I wonder. I’m hiding someplace and the killer come straight towards me immediately after hooking somebody, not even looking at more obvious hiding spots. I assume he’s running whispers or some other aura sensing perk or add on and to my surprise he is running absolutely nothing of the sort. Makes me suspicious but nothing really to prove it.

I am not condoning anything at all, but in the current state of the willingness to play killers and the recent bias of the patches rarely if ever nerfing survivors instead of buffing them and kilelrs constantly losing things they relied on to not struggle against swf voip perk I can imagine why they are resorting to it if they are too addicted to muster the will power to just quit the game or cannot bear the queue times switching to survivor only. It's a sign of the state of the game and the lack of satisfaction if one side of the game is leaving in enough numbers to impact the queue and a growing number of ones remaining are actively looking for cheats and ways to bypass lazy anticheat.

Maybe while addressing this cheating problem the devs should also address the cause of the problem (why people still want to play but feel like they are only willing or able to continue playing if they can cheat) which in turn could partially address the queue length problem on survivors' side as well in the end. Killer players seem so dissatisfied at this point that they probably think of quitting as just a self-imposed ban so they shrug off the risk of actual bans. That shows a extremely high level of dissatisfaction when they either quit or don't care if they get banned trying to make the game more enjoyable for themselves. I've heard of a few reports of swf with insta revives and such, but those kind of reports seem rare compared to esp using killer reports (which honestly voip with a 3 or 4 man swf is basically, just dev condoned vocal esp so I understand why some kilelrs feel justified using their own esp once again not condoning it I'd prefer to see them all quit and clog queue as survivors and truly force some needed changes in attitudes at the dev level).

I've rarely seen games so imba they push a large chunk of the playerbase to quitting or rampant cheating through perceived or actual imbalance (and to perceive it at such a common and strong level by such a large portion of a playerbase it typically is real imbalance even when their idea of that imbalance or it's overall impact is a bit exaggerated in some situations). This is showing problems in the game's balance and mechanics on a fundamental level, as well as showing there is widespread distrust or contempt within a portion of the playerbase for the devs and also a lack of expectation and patience that the devs will make changes for the better for them. So the devs are partly to blame for four years of pretty clear survivor bias and building mistrust and resentment from killers (as well as insulting them in livestreams and in at least one clear case on a livestream getting owned to such a degree after talking smack it was pretty clear one of the guys didn't even play his own game), and are also partly to blame as a consequence for the current survivor queue lengths considering they're about to drive a few more killers even off of the game in the next patch even and don't care. The attitudes all around are horrible with this game whether it's players or developers. It's a magnet for everything wrong in both the industry and within humanity. And as such I really enjoy reading about all of it. Let the hate flow through you. lol

What makes you think I'm an adult? And I used to have EXTREMELY bad anger issues, now I'm super chill, and as long as I have fun, I don't care if I lose. I didn't rage bc I lost either. I raged because I managed to get legacy 2 on nurse, and all of that effort to get it didn't even matter, because I lost it shortly after, never going to get it back, either. Not saying what I did was reasonable, but if something like that has never happened to you before, I don't think you have the right to judge.

destroying an entire computer over a wiped save in a video game is a symptom of deeper issues that can impact you elsewhere in life. and knowing there's somebody out there in society that touchy and explosive could be impacting for others who caught you on the wrong day or in the wrong way is also troubling in these extremely emotionally charged times where people just seem to be constantly losing their #########.

I was around with my save lost a couple of times in 2016 on the original steam release and wound up banned off the steam discussions for telling somebody how to back up their save in the early months before ironically the mods started telling people to do it themselves by 2017. Although technically I do remember saying something along the lines of "if survivors dc and make you lose your mori you can also get it back that way" so I can see why I got discussions banned back then, but it also taught me about the survivor bias because they had no problem with them wasting killers' offerings even back then. I didn't fly off the handle once it was confirmed to msyelf through that and the many snarky comments from the goatsee guy on live streams though

I did the mature thing though, I played a little with nurse, lost interest, didn't feel like continually grinding the game over again and uninstalled the game and hadn't touched it until around pyramidhead came out this year when I heard they added the vault spam bamboozle effect and people couldn't abuse windows any more. I never destroyed anything, I just wrote the game off as trash and forgot it existed for about 4 years. Because the game is trash and not worth losing our heads over it, it's entertaining trash to read about though. I read about folks also having deleted saves a couple or few times in 2017 as well, and lol'd reading it was still a problem even a year later. It's like these devs are stuck in limbo at the student level of coding or something. Totally not worth letting it make me that angry.

Yep my dude, I stopped playing this game a while ago because of that.

    Not because of the company.

    Not because of the game.

    Not because of the unbalance.

= Because of how survivors behaved in every game I played.

It gets tiring, and eventually, the game is not fun anymore. And when a game provides no fun, you simply stop playing.

More and more killers are quitting, and survivors queue times will increase. It will get boring for them because of that, and this game will eventually, die.

It will happen exactly the same as it happened with Evolve 2. The same type of game, same destiny.

once enough survivors quit th queue times will improve and the devs would just have to settle for a much smaller playerbase is all

This is how the animatrix started, people abused bots, bots rose up against the survivors

BS. Ive played this game since release, but broke my pc out of anger when I lost my legacy. Now I'm on ps4, still maining nurse, and don't notice a difference.

you broke your pc over a video game's save file? I'd say you should have stayed awayed from the game that made you wanna do that. and maybe looked into figuring out how to better tell yourself to not destroy property over a video game as an adult (I mean yea many of us threw the controllers as little kids when we didn't appreciate the cost of things) and maybe figure out what's making you so impulsive or destructively inclined.

  • actually since crossplatform my steam has had longer queue times as survivor, it's went up and it's went down since but on average it's usually been longer since it seemed most console players were survivor

    Ormonds the only exception.

But new disturbed ward felt too cluttered as well with the new bush tile. I can see that map being a pain in the [BAD WORD] for killers like Oni, Billy, and Blight.

Father campbells looked like it opened up a little bit. But that may be because of how the burnt out houses are laid out.

lerys it was sometimes fun ditching killers if they weren't good at tracking people on the map, but I did kind of feel it got a bit easier doing that after it's updates for some reason. Although I seem to more often stumble across deadends (walled off doors or breakable ones sometimes) in there too now, but because of randomization that could be coincidence. Usually I found those before the killer found me though.

Yes every single one you don't show the ranks. You don't show the number of hours you have vs them. This concludes nothing, but you have skill and can loop a killer.

rank 3 I think I saw on the end game results screen in the vid

I get stunned at a pallet and tbagged by an entire team so then I say f it and slug for the 4K when I’m usually very chill then get called a piece of sh** etc. There’s so winning so just keep on keeping on and try to have some fun. Don’t be afraid to take breaks too.

funny thing is I noticed a killer's post with two censored words got mod edited (your own post), but the survivor that made 4 posts in a row back to back with profanity in some of his as well and was sounding like part of the problem with the game with his attitude had not a single post my eye caught that was mod edited. Basically tells me all I need to know when expecting whether killer is worth touching ever again myself. 4 more years away from dbd I guess, hopefully for good lol since I don't expect survivor queue time to get any less than 10 minutes which is 5 or 6 minutes too long already for me let alone when it pushes 20. Meaning, for me at least, unplayable game on either side when devs don't gaf about the fun on one side and the other side as a result is gonna have a queue at least as long when not double or triple the amount of time a match would last just to get into a lobby that might be dodged lol. No and/or pass.

I'll play survivor briefly during future bp events if I know they're going on, but won't go out of my way to keep on that info and once it's late in the year if I haven't seen more than 2 of those I'm just gonna spare the space on my pc and ps5 and permanently uninstall it. The attitude toward this game's balance hasn't changed in 4 years and thinking it ever will from this point after so much time is asinine imo. It's time to move on. Forums for the game have been entertaining me much more than the game for a while now which is always a bad sign about a game to me.
