Honestly the reworked maps just seem too busy.
They're trying too hard to fill empty space between tiles, making the maps cluttered.
newer ormond actually felt like it had a lot less in it to me, what I mean is a lot less to make me feel safe creeping around a few parts between the corners sometimes. there was a tractor though that I've seen on it after the update. I don't know if I saw one on it before that, don't remember seeing one there before the update myself.

The pig. That lady with the pig mask and the snowflake assasins creed wristblade, and most of all, those damned face traps.
I will admit I don't have a lot of experience playing killer, but i look at this one and i can't see any drawbacks that the others pay for their abilities.
Those traps are the big deal. When/if you get unhooked, you need to go track down the key for your trap, or you die. And thats not even guaranteed, yesterday i died to a trap, after finishing searching 3/4 of the jigsaw boxes on the map and not finding the key.
Usually i do find it though, usually the mask doesn't kill, that was just an unlucky day.But the much bigger deal is, the time it takes.
I could understand if the traps only killed you on leaving, but otherwise had no time limit, so you could take your time searching, do objectives and look for the key whenever you find some spare moments
I could understand if the traps had a time limit, but escaping would prevent it, because then you could try to ignore it and focus on objectives, take a gamble
But it kills in BOTH cases, so your one and only choice is to go look for the key immediately. Time you spend looking for a key is time you don't spend repairing generators, this is hugely powerful.
It also makes you predictable, she can patrol the jigsaw boxes and easily catch people trying to get their masks off. They can't even hide bcause of the accursed beeping
This seems far more powerful than the unique abilities given to any other killer. I'd say freddy is second place, but he still can't hold a candle to this. Pig doesn't even need to hook anyone, ever. She can just go around doing knockdown and mask all day
What does she pay for this ability?
I know she's got that wierd stealth attack, but that is clearly optional. I've had plenty of cases where pig just runs up and hits me in plain view.
She's still got the "higher than survivors" movespeed and can win a chase. maybe she's slower than other killers, but it doesn't feel like it's making a difference
Can anyone explain to me how the pig is not the most overpowered killer in the game by far. To such a degree that she eclipses all the other killers, and would presumably be played by everyone all the time if she wasnt locked behind a paid DLC
Entry cost aside, i can't see any drawbacks.
I recently created another post about Pig and i am successful with her. Her Trap pressure is amazing and survivors literally hopeless
I got bp while finding totems moving around between trap removers (for active traps) and got points off of the skillchecks for them as well as survival points the longer a game went on so it's all gud. You still ahve to catch them to trap them with her while a distressing doctor can sit around the middle of a map or within the radius of a few generators and just listen for the screams while screwing them out of vaults and saving perk slots from aura skills unless you wanted bbq for the bp (the main reason I ever used it on anybody). Overall doctor was my favorite to use. Hearing the shocks alone was pretty satisfying. And the cooky laugh. He had me at hello, which is kinda shocking.

aura at a distance to easily relocate, especially if it had a long lasting efect, on top of repair debuff from an 'ambush' hit would be annoying as hell to deal with for them probably and is a bit too much unless it was maybe an addon and did away with the repair debuff bit. the purple addon to see auras within what was it 12 meters or so? while cloaked, I liked that addon and it should stay as it is especially since I had a bunch farmed from 2016 it looked like when I came this year (on steam acc) and only used a few when I got back since I was saving them for a rainy day. I actually forgot about those until right now, maybe during the next bp event I'll use a few more, thing is I could have used those on my psn acc since I got my steam caught up on everything throughout last year when I started playing again and it's my psn needing perks now. But I won't grind killers on my psn lol. no way in hell I'm playing killers without perks and addons lmfao. and any bp from wglf went into survivors, and will continue to each bp event on that account

Absolutely, both doctor and bubba take a lot of timing and when their abilities are used badly, you simply fail to do any damage and the chase basically starts again from the beginning. Spirit has an ability with insane mobility so you're free to ######### up
and while using her ability and seeing the directions he faced when going into it you can walk around her the other way since she can only hear you and see scratch marks from running or fast actions during the power, and is more likely to check more obvious places you may try and go or hide while using the power. she's still a big pita, but not impossible to hide from or avoid. killers gotta have something to work with or you're gonna be relying on the devs making bots that don't play like they have downs to keep the queues short.
I can imagine them increasing her cd once the power is completely exhausted a little bit, but anything other than that is only gonna further increase survivor queue times. Gotta bring in the "you think you do, but you don't" line here about all these nerfs people want on killers constantly. If you don't instantly dc or hook suicide you get used to things a little bit after a while. Everybody gets the game they deserve in the end. If killers put up with their treatment and with working as an unpaid entertainer for behavior then they deserve to keep being nerfed into misery, and if survivors keep complaining about any decent thing killers manage to get handed to them for once they deserve long queues and spending most of the time not spent in queue eating dirt or being poorly stimulated by the afk wraith or killer facing the corner denying them any chase points and depipping them.
-
she's not plug and play, you have to adjust to using her in phase and when to phase. It's not as easy as people make it out to be. But, while I never played too much of her, she was a lot easier catching people with than a lot of other killers once I got a little user to her. The map plays a big role in it too sometimes. When it's easier to hide, less likely to have narrow spaces to bump into them in, you'll have to listen harder and do better guesswork on where to pop and catch somebody. Which can be fun actually. I still had a lot more fun on doctor shocking people with distressing loadouts. bgahh aghhh ack I just love the sound of shock treatment in the morning

Have you tried using Whisperes, Corrupt Intervention, Discordance, or Ruin?
Also, I do not recommend using the Shroud add-on for killers. This will almost certainly ensure 2-3 gens get completed by the time the first chase, Hook, and other survivor found.
That's gonna be a real hell for a new player to grind at this point, especially having to pay for at least half of it even if you get two for free as a console player that gets ruin free. I bet the retention is pretty low right now for new killers, or players in general if they switch to survivor and see the wait time lmao. Though to start fresh as survivor you only would be expected to buy DS, and it's situational enough you don't even need DS, and only need bill's perks and then david and meg's which are all free and david's make grinding the rest a lot easier. So most people probably gravitate toward survivor once they figure that out, which is gonna make the queues stay long lol. They're gonna have to start giving new players corrupt for free lol. Which would only be bait, since once they all got used to using it, devs would render it useless in a nerf lol. This is gonna be as entertaining to read about as cyberpunk in a month or two from now.

The worst case scenario with undying is it getting cleansed first. Now worst case scenario, is only case scenario. Doesn't sound all that great to me.
I would wager the trade off with tokens being kept will make survivors complain about devour hope. Leading to it being nerfed, despite it being a fair hex perk. They always have to have something to complain about, and I guarantee you devour will be next.
well they took out the moris so devour seems the next logical step even though you have to work pretty hard for it compared to the ebony mori. keys won't get done till next year (or the end of this year or if the Evil Dead or Back 4 Blood versus releases in the year seem to cut into the playerbase a little bit) and will still allow escapes at only 3 or 4 gens done I bet. I'm willing to bet a little bit of non-monopoly money on that.
Keys usually benefit organized swf more than solo players, in fact bringing it while alone can get you focused down without support and somebody hoping to steal your key. swf are the financial lifeblood of any game (even when the ultimate deathblow to it, devs or their publisher often make a killing in the shorthaul and can then reskin and start anew), which league of legends taught me, so they'll always be pandered to (which was why rito thought it was a good idea adding 3 to 5 man teams into the ranked mode at one point which was the last season I played that coming from a season 1 player of it). That is why I expect keys to still allow early escapes though moris can no longer allow early kills or level of the playing field against a toxic swf and expect devour to be rendered useless eventually.

I think that the undying nerf is a good thing because with previous ruin undying, you're basically flipping a coin for ruin to be up for a very short time or have it last the entire game and I think this change will eliminate that problem where your totem is either cleansed at the start of the game or the end. In my opinion, the undying nerf will make the ruin undying combo less hated while also being strong and more consistent, and being able to keep tokens of perks like devour or lullaby after being cleansed is also a nice bonus.
the entire game or 5 bones if everybody is looking for them, which can remove it and two perks lots from the killer before tier 3 corrupt wore off. mountains out of molehills, and survivors will once again wind up with what they voted for and blame it on killers lol. I've been getting more entertainment out of reading about the game than playing it ever since my queues got too long.

Well I would certainly appreciate you as a teammate. My solo mates seem to make the most asinine decisions.
I literally watched, had kindred, three teammates constantly go trade hooks until all three were in a pile under the hook to a facecamping Bubba, while I completed 1 genny. Just FML in that moment. Hatch game with 4 gennys left.
The decision making in solo q at times can drive you crazy. Back to killer for the night.
That was how some of my matches were the last times I played, seeing them dancing around the killer and hook and only finishing a gen or two before realizing it was time to go looking for the hatch. I would start gathering bones if I hadn't found a few already by then just to have some decent points afterwards in case they got me before I found the hatch or the gates were poorly spaced when it seemed smarter to wait by a gate until they close the hatch. I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to this game myself, and make plenty of stupid decisions, but some people just play in ways that make me wonder if they're just trolling or farming quick unsafe hooks off each other. Which would make sense during bp events if the queues were short, but otherwise is just plain stupid. Evenw hen I'm screwing around or trying to figure out fun or trolly loadouts and winning isn't my main concern, I still try and get out if I can usually.

Yes. And have you played solo q in awhile?
I was until the queues started being around 15 minutes for me give and take afew. When I would forget I was even in queue only to come back dead or see a dead person in the game already I realized it already wasn't playing any more with the queues being bad at night for me so I only came back for the bp event recently to screw around for a bit. But yes, if the queues were 5 minutes or less for me still, I would still be playing and did still play against it those times. I just looked for the bones and hoped everybody else would too except when the killer was occupied and a couple of us could slam a gen out preferably mid or a different one that wouldn't leave us confined in the end. Sometimes other people would take care of the totem I noticed, they 'adapted' as survivors like to put it to the killers.
If somebody can run the killer around for a long time, that's a great time to get them out of the way and then go looking for the bones once the killer catches them or abandons them. If you haven't been hooked and can finish a gen int he killer's face just do it and eat the hook too sometimes. It beats it being reset. there are decisions that can be made around it, and it usually beats being slugged and doing jackshit half the game after a ten minute or more queue. That's what would lead me to quit the game right there on both sides finally if it was nothing but slugs and hatch matches after unbearable queues. A "hatch match" in that dark time would simply be playing like a coward the whole game and not risking reviving anybody slugged, only doing a gen to get the hatch to spawn later after waiting out their bleeding lol. I wouldn't trust a killer if they got me in thats ort of a game to not leave me with the choice of bleeding out for four minutes or taking the 4 minute dc penalty and checking through compendiums only to play something else the second bad slug match in a night. I'll take ruin and light slugging over something more boring any day evenw ith quicker queues.

I'd argue that many campers felt comfortable camping because they had ruin undying.
No you will actually have to apply your own pressure, and not have a couple of perks do it for you.
Not you as in personally, killer in general.
when they're sitting and camping is the time anybody with half a brain knows it's time to slam gens against ruin, then go and find the totems once the killer is active again. ruin only does anything for a camper if the other survivors are brain dead or for some reason haven't figured out the killer is camping. If theyr eally balance the game around the most braindead players it'll definitely ruin the game in the end. Since anybody with two brain cells is going to abuse that until no one is willing to provide them entertainment any longer. I saw it happen to another game during the lockdowns last year, so event hat wouldn't save a game from one too many patches balancing around a game's downies. That's the most junk 'balance' philosophy ever and I'll never play another game that makes it's patch focus making the idgits happy again unless it's purely to abuse the imbalance to frustrate the other side for the entertainment value.

Mimimi just get gud, Jeezes. Nobody need Undying, hope Corrupt Intervention get a Nerf soon as well.
At that point, youw ould see nothing but undying/ruin/corrupt/deerstalker (or corrupt/pop/surveillance or discordance/deerstalker or overcharge) doctors so they wouldn't have to worry about finding survivors while using the perk slots for that sweaty combo and calm spirit would just make survivors need to drop a second chance would be their hope. meaning choose between unbreakable, ds, or iron will to fit in calm spirit. Or drop spinechilla nd it's vault and exit gate opening bonus. I wouldn't be surprised to see blood warden/noed start showing up either with potatoheads out of frustration. Nothing is more comical than "afk wraith we on easy street" just to get suddenly blood wardened on a couple or few guys. No matter how you try to spin this, thoughts don't change reality, it's gonna be a dark winter for survivor mains. If more killers drop it'll happen through longer queues, if they don't drop it'll happen through more frustrating gameplay after waiting on a lobby hoping it's not just to be the first or second guy they find. It might be time to give civilization 6 a try if you picked it up on the last steam sale. I hear it's pretty good if you decide you need to take a break from dbd

Hell yea. If i got a thought that the killer was looped by the hatch, im waitin at a gate
yup, if they see me around the hatch or I saw them in the hatch area I assume they saw it and I know it's a bust and wait by a gate. the smarter killers have checked around the gates too, a few even extensively which is why when I know the hatch is far enough away I keep a little distance and just plan the sprint to the gate since I know they'll be going straight to the farthest gate once they tire of looking for me. Spinechill is often the last bump needed to get them open in some situations lol. I didn't use it much the last times I played, and made it out of situations like that by the skin of my teeth and will probably use spinechill again the next bp event because of the behavior of teammates often making it a hatch match.
I was seeing 2 or 3 hooks between a minute to two minutes in as if they were dancing around the killer farming hook points off each other (not always literal farms,w hen I noticed actual farming I'd join in obviously). lmao. best thing to do is just farm those points too if I'll only be playing during bp boosts, but, when everybody else is doing it sometimes I got the best and safest points from getting all the bones and a protection hit or safe unhook or two and then trying to get the hatch or out the gate that way. With a gen or two of course. The game is a mess right now. At least the last times I played it, which were very few outside of bp events, so probably don't have a good set of examples to draw on I guess. Most of my escapes the last time I played during this recent event I think were through the hatch, or waiting at a gate as the last survivor.

I just laugh when it happens, thinking you sure must have been bullied a lot as a kid.
well in the current supply plenty of killers not belonging in the red and purple ranks will be getting there if they keep playing lol. When I would camp somebody it was specifically to either be an ass tot hem, hoping to get them mad about it, or to feed off of altruism or stupidity. When they stand there without insidious, or stealth killer, or they do it without save attempts they're either hoping to waste your time knowing it's funny that you waited ten minutes just to wait a few more on the hook for nothing or they don't know better. For some people the win is if they waste your time or believe they've frustrated or you or controlled your experience, and they don't care about gens or bp. Many people still logging on as killer are probably driven thatw ay, and with fewer killers even if their own number among them hasn't increased or decreased much lately you'll still be more likely to face them just because of the dwindling stock of killers altogether.

UE 4.25 supports ray tracing and I think it's enabled by default on a certain hardware.
I have an rtx and the last time I ran it on steam it wasn't for me. just because the engine version Can support, doesn't mean that every game uses it. Maybe it's used on the test server, unless there was a patch in january I missed, but otherwise it isn't enabled on the live version anyways.

Im on ps5 now. The game runs without the slightest slowdown. If I've had the system on for days, or if I've been on dbd for like 7 hours, I notice that when I switch characters in the lobby it takes microseconds longer than normal, but thats it, in game its still perfect.
I have it and been mostly playing it on ps5 too the last times I played it (since my steam has all the perks and doesn't need any) and have tweaked my gameusersettings on pc to look about the same as it does on ps5. I notice in certain spots on certain maps or directions faced around those spots there is a split second looking like it lost a few frames on both so it does happen just not too easily noticeable. The lobby thing also happens on the pc when it's been on along time, common thing to happen, I usually restart the game after a match if it annoys me.

They always look for the hatch, are faster, if the gates are far apart and on the map I think I have a better chance of going for the gate and hiding near it I do that instead. Not too often, but over time I've done it a lot.

It can happen briefly on ps5 and pc too, just part of the dbd experience lol. if you don't under tweak the gameusersettings and/or reso slider until you have at least 20% gpu usage to spare from the lobby that'll happen sometimes on some maps when it briefly spikes due to poor optimization. 20%+ sudden spike like that is basically no excuse but poor optimization lmao

With new mmr system there should be at least some sort of swf bonus mmr for your group. If your average mmr is 1000 it should count as 1500 for 4man 1300 for 3 man and 1150 for two people so swf will play against more skilled killers at least. Ideally sweaty swf should always face spirits and nurses
with surveillance and ruin/undying lmao...that was awesome when I tried it on spirit on ormond and the nurses should be louisville sluggers. they can have fun chatting about their smudged up screen and 2 nanaometer an hour crawl speed with their friends while bleeding it out. the killer needs to have fun with their friends too, their friends being leftie and rightie

Haha, I can relate when I'm killer. Hate playing "trap" killers such as Hag & Trapper because all of them eventually get called out before they ever got a chance to be useful.
I actually rather find solo more fun than being in a SWF because I'm not told whenever the killer is coming my way & I feel more accomplished when escaping.
I solo usually, but try to be mindful when I know where the killers are at and when I see them doing traps I undo the trapper's and if I have a fleshlight the hag's too. They wind up camping me for it if they happen to get me afterwards and it's around the area, at least after the second time I do it to them. If there is los and I finish the trap in it they get real mad sometimes, and I kind of feed off of it now. I consider it a win if I get them mad enough to throw the game. It gets tedious enough that you have to make your own games within the game. When I'm camped on my own terms and it was my goal, I'll still struggle. Otherwise as a power play I'm out and into a new queue lol.
Since it's gonna be a game where everybody is in control of others' experiences often more than over their own... I'm gonna be in control or I'll find a match where I can be. Which is why no matter how quick the queue gets I don't like killer any longer. I feel like some pasty nerds are sitting behind a desk thinking, "this is gonna be your lessened experience every other patch, and you're gonna learn to get used to it" and I'm like, "nope. survivor is the best killer frak you". Survivor even kills other survivors better sometimes.

If it's chronic and you have a history of very long dc queue penalties the devs will eventually permaban it iirc ... if you dc that much then stop and play a different game for a while. though it would take quite a lot to get you flagged that way. but eventually it is set up to flag your acc for review if it's literally a normal thing for you to do for a long period of time

Mickey Mouse, killer power is he buys then kills another franchise.

A better game died because it was themed around him and lolsuit threats emerged around jason, so, no ... Evil Dead gets a game this year though. Going with recent years of games, it'll be either crap or just get boring quickly if good. If Back 4 Blood captures what left 4 Dead made me feel though,t he excitement of it, and isn't too grindy then I'll wind up playing that one for years like I played l4d hopefully.

I'll dodge key lobbies although recently I discovered it's more fun to follow the key user and fail skill checks near them.
and this sounds like a good idea if I were willing to wait pushing 10 minutes when not more for a match still

when queues were under 5 minutes and before mori were removed, if I had too many lobbies that were pc in a night I'd start skipping them lol.

Cleansing dull totems instead of working on gens is slowly giving killer a chance to get more kills. Eventually if he does have noed, depending on the team's courage it's possible to find noed quickly and save the hooked survivor. tl;dr time is everything in this game, thus prioritize the main objective.
if you already see the team dancing around the killer, you might as well get totem points, try and stack wglf a little, then start looking for the hatch to be ready for the last guy

So this is just TOO GOOD not to share! Total "Karen" meltdown right here. You can see by the points everyone got chased, I switched targets regularly, nobody got camped, lots of hooks and escapes, 4 gens were done... I thought it was a good game. I personally got 3 iridescent emblems and a gold. Now keep in mind....I'm rank 9 playing a level 28 Bubba. She's Rank 1 and in a popular gaming guild (based on her name).
First, it was that I won because I don't know how to use the chainsaw on Bubba very well. Yeah.....okay. It is true I'm not very good with the chainsaw. Not sure how that's to my advantage.
Then it became the bad console players. Yeah....okay. Their score don't look that much lower than hers. If they're bad......then......
KAREN MELTDOWN for the win!

I've done 7 killer games at rank 1 and i was facing survivors with 50-100hrs, they were around rank 13. They had no chance, games over in 5m and 0gens got done.
Mmr is on there's no way it isn't, new players will drop the game and casual players too
If it was on, you'd never see a potato again after a few weeks to a couple of months, depending on how often you played and how often you got 2+k. personally, if I played a killer again, I'd only play them so far as that point and then even ift he queue was an hour for survivor I'd just not touch killer or the game until bp events free'd survivor queue time sup a bit like recently. Not gonna deal with sweat on killer if I even decide to play that side again lol I'd need to see at least 100k bp on average per game as killer to bother with it again. and even then I'd only Need to do that on my psn account, my steam has everything up to date except the twins perks, it has melodies though bought her with shards since I didn't like the killer and they would only ruin it anyways if it was halfway decent.
