    Bad power

    Bad perks.

    Just a toy for swf.

The perks are decent. Somewhat powerful in many build variations.

  • the hate on true is funny. more than half the time it's so unwarranted lol. he has a lot of great ideas. Otz is also a great streamer and fun to watch

  • The game has far too much imbalance in map design and outdates mechanics / clunky animations to ever be considered as a serious e-sport. It would take... so... much... to steer it. Any game can have a pro scene thrive if enough people WANT to invest and spectate... but the framework/game design would not favor this focus.

I don't think the devs currently understand how to make an e-sports game nor how to balance the game already. I am not saying they are not intelligent and worthy... because they are. I just believe they aren't (today) ready nor open-minded enough.

I never heard of FNAF untill this week

same lol. looked into it. totally not for me. not a fan like at all

  • Honestly, the ideal way for this game to be balanced is around more hooks. That would require an entire rework of all the systems... which would not happen. My idea of a win is a 4k. I'll take 3K and hatch because that stupid game design still exists. Sometimes can't be bothered to slug for the last guy. For me... a 2k is not a win nor a draw. It's a loss. But that's only because a draw doesn't register with me personally

I do think more hooks should be heavily rewarded along with actual chase. But of course, we have killers that would be hurt against the chase part due to their design... which is why hooks is the easier way to design around. Which would mean.. punishing proximity camping hooks and the recently unhooked. (within reasonable time)

For example, a hag placing all of her traps around a hook should not be encouraged. The unhooked should disable traps within a distance. But that's one of the MANY mechanics that would need to change. Then you have to tackle the point system.

  • okay, just got dced again. yea I am going to try again tomorrow and hope it's a server overload issue

Killers can use Ruin and it cant be cleansed. (I already lost interest).

Your opinions, cause it seems so stupid and typical Tru killer main as per usual to me. 🤣

You know what is weird? People shitting on someone that wants to do their own thing to see how the game feels for spectators and players given the concept of a "fair game." Your post just feels... like those 13 year olds that wrote in chat and didn't get a happy response back.

If you take a step back from your... strange place... you can what he is attempting to see. And it's worthy data. Do I agree or like every part of the plan? Surely not. But I am open-minded to a different take on the game as right now, it's a bore to watch

  • Damn, I really hope that is just a server issue that will blow over today. I haven't played barely at all since last patch... would hate to have DC be common

  • DCed first two matches now. And ban penalty. Weird connection error bug. Seems to be all over discord and forums

  • I was DCed my first game and was banned. Now I can load my game and I am stuck on a menu screen with no menu items. 3 restarts I have my menu back.

I've heard about the people getting a +pip only for it to be a -pip, so on so forth. But this hasn't happened to me in the game at all (As someone who does 12 hour+ streams of this game practically every day, I think I have some leeway here. If I depip, it's mainly because I didn't do well in a match).

To me it mostly sounds like people taking advantage of the clear Desync issues and other bugs that came with the most recent update and trying to find some way of blaming it on the game when it's actually just those players who suck or had a bug issues that game, and have that classic thought process of "Oh it can't be me because I'm good at the game, it must be the games fault I deranked".

If you want to pip up, the common rule is to get about 3 saves, a couple of heals, and work on 2-3 gens, with the main +pip being awarded for chases (Boldness) and escaping the killer.

I usually pip up every game if I do at least all of the above, and don't pip down unless I've done absolutely terrible (Even with the pip "bug").

If it was as big of an issue as everyone thinks, it would have been fixed by now. They fixed the custom games pip bug so quickly, so I feel like this would have been patched by now, it seems almost impossible that they haven't released something like this with the latest patch.

So it's mainly just the babies who play this game getting mad that they lost a pip (Even though you don't need pips to win the game, ranks don't matter in reality).

I think people forget that pips are rewarded to players who PLAY WELL. If you don't pip up, it's almost most certainly a you problem.

    It's broken.

  • @Shirokinukatsukami said:

Since we all know SWF isn't going anywhere and you can't do anything about comms, period, I think the developers can use one of the ideas from the Japanese tournament to fix the SWF problem.

SWF Rule: When in SWF, no duplicate perks are allowed. Or maybe only 2 of each perk.

Something to that effect. Player loadout of excess perks will b e disabled and they have their 1 minute to fix that. I mean they were probably queuing before getting into lobby so they had time to do that earlier. And come on they're SWF they are friends they can discuss beforehand who gets what perk.

The big problem killers face with SWF -- is getting hit by 4 DS in one match. When coordinated an SWF can really abuse a lot of perks to make life hell for a killer. The perk limitation on the SWF loadout should go a long way in alleviating problems with SWF matches.

Solo players in a mixed team will not be penalized, but anyone in the SWF party should not be able to have duplicate perks.

Designing the game around this just isn't right. There are many SWF who are a group of friends that are actually terrible at the game. Aside from that... to make a system where peoples are restricted makes the pre-game lobby a clunky mess. Especially for the SWF groups who do not comm. A system like this only works in tournaments because pre-made teams of pro players can establish a plan far before a match begins (days/weeks) to delegate who gets what and the best way to use each perk kit per player. That's why it works. Often times, SWF groups are duos/trio stacks which would leave randoms in a strange way, unless you only want 4 stack restrictions and that's just not good game design.

They are attempting to stop the 4DS problem with the new changes. This is the correct path to do. Not perk restrictions. Now, a player wastes time off gens, off healing, off doing totems... if they want to run around with their DS (as it will deactivate the moment they touch something)

(getting to the last part of what you wrote)

Simply, this is not a proper system and really only targets the "higher level" players. Perks just need to be reworked to not be oppressive (which is what they are currently trying to do with the new DS and OoO)

  • @fake said:

I generally agree with the rule about limiting duplication of parks. (But still there were restrictions on offerings, items and add-ons. There were also restrictions on killer UR and VR. That'd be SWF with brand new parts, syringes, hemostats, maps and keys, and the ability to use purple test potion/oak tree/coins together.)

But still, the use of voice chat breaks SWF for the reason that we can share each other's location, killer location, palette availability, and lots of other information without perks.

To address this issue, the game should be divided into a casual mode that can be played in SWF and a solo only ranked match mode that cannot be played in SWF.

solo mode is never going to happen. every game wants this and few every get it. SWF is very important to the population of DBD.

  • DH has never affected me as killer but a small handful of times. And even then it was deserved.

as surv I never run it

  • Well, to say it can NEVER be competitive is silly. (not to the OP, but other posters)

To say it isn't ready for it, I agree wholeheartedly. One of the worst balanced games I've ever played with the weirdest mechanics and plagued by bugs.

I do agree both sides do have the right to complain, but I just never thought I would hear the day that shadowborn is a crutch perk. This group was running 1 Object with 4 ds 4 dead hards and either bt or iron will with a misc perk of whatever.

No one should ever complain about shadowborn

  • I've always wanted a random Obsession at the beginning of the game. The fact that there is none if noone has a perk does lead to grooming players to behave a certain way.

  • Honestly, both sides do have legitimate reasons to complain as the poor balance and outdated mechanics in this game are starting to show strongly.

Complaining about shadowborn though? That might just be a new one.

And you see someone on last hook being chased, take the aggro!

I know this has always been a thing, but now when you can see how many times your team mates have been hooked, why are you hiding in a corner, when you werent hooked yet, and someone is being chased and they're on their last hook?

Hook counter for survivor is the same as kindred, it is supposed to help you, but a lot of times it will not, and will make it even more frustrating, because now there is literally no excuse to not be a bit altruistic.

Depends. Depends on the pressure going on. Depends on how close we are to escaping and what my role is currently. Am I 90% on the last gen? Did I witness that player being far too passive for me to care about? Do I feel like helping that player out?

There are many more variables to it. You seem to specifically talk about those who have not been hooked. As someone that intentionally bugs the killer into a chase, I'm generally a hook or two. But given that I haven't been hooked, I do have to weigh out other options as I really don't care if a killer is focus on a player on last hook if I am about to escape. Though I do love protection hits if I am in a good distance and don't have an active role in objectives.

I do my best to never BM when playing Killer or Survivor. WIth this update, I've had no desire to play Killer solely for the fact that I don't want to wonder which hits I actually deserved and which I didn't. Otherwise, I play Killer and Survivor equally. To be fair, I usually have TTV in my name because I'm a streamer. But something I've noticed since the last patch is that Killers have been much ruder and are more willing to BM than usual. I don't use the term "tunnel" lightly. But I've been quite legitimately been tunneled more often than usual since the Big Patch. I don't like using DS beause it's not a fun perk for me to use imo. But at this point, until it's nerf, I feel I'm going to have to use it. My main question is, is it just me who feels like Killers have been taking advantage of the desync issues and have been much ruder than usual because of it? Or have I just been getting unlucky?

No, killers aren't taking advantage of the desync because that's not on the killers. It's a massive problem effecting everyone and there's no prediction as to when it's happening because on the killers screen, it's going to be a hit. Killers and Surv are both the same level of troll/toxic/tunnel honestly. I just find the game FEELS more annoying because of the glaring issues presented in the patch.

I'm not saying it shouldn't be fixed. I'm just saying it's a nice little thing before MMR comes out.

I mean personally I don't find anything nice about a small patch breaking something so massively for many players. I'm not knocking you, of course. As you have your own interests in what you want from the game. I do believe the current system to rank needs a major rework so I'm sure we agree on that

Really? If you're going to be condescending you could at least count the full number of farewells.

Which seems to be just the one, which you just responded to. Before that it was the OP kindly asking you to stop, which you didn't, and before that was a big ol' nothing.

You too? This is becoming overwhelming. I'm flattered :)

  • @gendoss said:

We've all wanted a revision to rank in a way that would better match people of a similar skill and I think this is a good thing to tide us over until MMR comes out.

After we've had it for a week or so i'm a few pips into rank 2 and I think it's settled to the point to where i'm getting better teammates. A lot of people who were once red rank are now green and purple and it's helping me because I am finally getting people who actually deserve in red rank.

I'm not trying to offend or insult anybody who is in green/purple but this is definitely showing what ranks people should actually be in now.

This isn't perfect however, and there are some downsides I have noticed. People in lower ranks who were in red are now getting matched with the actual lower ranks and it's making much harder to rank up. I'm also constantly getting matched with purples and that may be because there just aren't enough reds to be matched up with especially because there aren't a ton of survivors now.

As I don't think this is perfect it is much better than the previous system and I hope MMR will be much better but I just wanted to make the point on how I actually like this bug.

It's not a good thing because it's something that is bugged and broken. You aren't playing with people that "deserver their rank" now. Because there are far too many players reporting not being able to pip unless they DOUBLE pip or only IF they escape. Which is not a good metric of skill. It's not showing what ranks people SHOULD be in because there are many players who are not having a pip problem. It's actually led to a lot of players in red ranks to simply stop playing because of the consistency of the system (I am speaking for those that care about pips/maintaining rank).

It's very odd that you would call this a "better" system when people are not being rewarded for their efforts. For example, you could do 4 gens / max alturism / max chase / and save a guy from the hook endgame and get hook camped... and depip because you didn't escape. That hardly seems fair? In fact, this system now rewards more passive end-game play. Which is not healthy.

I do see your points and you make some valid ones but the cons do outweigh the pros. It will also be fixed on the next patch (tuesday) so it will be right back to normal assuming it goes correctly.

This bug is not an indication of skill. It's broken in so many ways. Also, some are experiencing the double pip or else dilemma, which isn't even fair. Because they don't even black pip for a decent game. One guy on youtube showed now he CAN'T pip at all. Though anecdotal, all the data matters currently.

Correct, I'm responding for entertainment. And you're also correct, I have no power here, but I can indeed ask nicely.

If I just wanted confirmation bias then I'd be ignoring every other response here. But I'm not. I'm upvoting them and reading them on the off-chance I actually play Pig in the future. If I just wanted confirmation bias I'd ask my close friends who share the exact same opinion as me, but I didn't- I took the question to a public forum.

Though this is entertaining, this is the last of my time I'll give you. I have better things to do than respond to someone as oblivious and hypocritical as you.

Again, have a good day. I hope I never see you in the Fog. :)

I thought you were done responding to me three times now. Getting a bit weird. I think it's time to ACTUALLY move on this time :)

I doubt any of us 3 Pig mains do that. I would expect a 'main' to know better. Or rather, 'did' in my case, as I've been DbD-free for 3 weeks. But I digress.

Let me rephrase it. If you're routinely hardcore tunneling activated traps, then you're a Pig main in the same fashion as a facecamping Bubba is a Bubba main. You're not trying to play the character optimally. You just found a flawed game mechanic that allows you to annoy people, which is likely what you're after. Totally allowed play if you choose so. The difference is in the motive.

    Very well-said.

Still responding though, so clearly you want something from me. And you have no power in your thread. In fact, you own nothing here <3

If you can't handle conversations then maybe you just want confirmation bias. That's cute I guess

  • @Aneurysm said:

Yes this does need to be discussed because it's not even the "morality" of tunnelling that gets to me in this case just how completely dumb it is. If you're playing against a pig and she's not the brightest cog in the RBT, it's a pretty safe bet that she'll drop chases with untrapped survivors to go after trapped ones, and drop chases with inactive trapped ones for active trapped ones. So you can use this against them.

Best example I saw was a Laurie on death hook who had literally seconds left before brain went boom, and managed to get the killer's attention (who was chasing me, untrapped) and loop her for about two minutes before being downed and sacrificed.

Dear pigs, I know this killer is ofc completely op and broken but you don't have to hard counter yourselves in this way to compensate.

Pig is not OP or broken. In fact, pig is a bottom tier killer. Pig has many things against her...

    1. bad ambush mechanics. Sound triggers too late and the crouch into ambush is ungodly slow without add ons. Then you have your terror radius which takes time to disappear.
    2. RBT are extremely inconsistent. Most players have them off within 2 boxes and you are an M1 killer for the rest of the game. Which is why a lot of pig mains run endfury or other anti-looping builds because gen pressure is tough on this killer.

Tunneling and slugging is not countering yourself (though I do not think killers should resort to it) and often leads to the 4K with pig. Of course, bad pigs will 3rd hook a hat wearer... but good pigs know when to stop. The only gen pressure we have is the hats. You can absolutely win the game without tunneling/slugging more times than not, but generally most tunneling with good pigs is SURVIVOR induced. It's just funny because it's hard to complain against pig when you have game design like Hag or oppressive zoners like PH and Demo. Because other killers can CONSISTENTLY overpower a survivor team whereas pig is again, dependent on the luck of hats staying on. (in red ranks I can tell you head pops rarely occur against any semi-decent team)

It's pretty simple. If a killer wants to tunnel/camp just let them. Go power through gens. I can't tell you how many pig killers that aren't too good get the game over within 10 minutes when I and other teammates power gens and not try to save the person being tunneled constantly. Don't troll, body block, or leave objectives.

If I'm being perfectly honest, if I cared about what other people thought of my attitude half of my comments on these forums wouldn't exist. However, I don't, and subsequently can conduct myself in whatever way I see fit.

So how about instead of being sensitive... you just actually reply to someone breaking down a response to your question to pig players. Then maybe something positive can come from this exchange. If you want to be weird in the first half, let's go! But at least have something to say about the breakdown or explanation.

As for pig players that go for people with traps on, I think its Unfair and Unfun to play against but thats just MY opinion If you disagree I dont care my opinion cant be changed.

Uh, ew. I didn't have an attitude and your jokes seem pretentious. So no thanks on your advice ;)

Anyways.. addressing what actually matters in your reply... Oh wait... you didn't really say anything are clearly don't want a conversation. See ya

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

Yes, I'm referring to all 3 of you, with the except of one particular streamer because I already know the answer from him (spoiler: it's because he's a bad person).

Why do you all tunnel people with active head traps on?

Now, I'm not talking about being chased twice in a match tunneling. Nor am I referring to accidental tunneling where you've got so much momentum that you've lost track of who's just been hooked and who hasn't. I mean hardcore, will ignore other survivors bodyblocking you, level of tunneling. I mean going for nobody but you until you're dead level of tunneling. So, in other words, actual tunneling.

Like, from the perspective of a non-Pig main, it makes sense to chase other people, doesn't it? The people without active head traps will be the people repairing the generators, so why wouldn't you chase them down? Even if you just slug the person with a headtrap, you'd still get more value by chasing someone hat-less than one with a party hat, wouldn't it? You'd remove 2 people from generators temporarily instead of just 1.

And don't get me started on why they just re-hook you afterwards. Like, what's the point of the head trap if you're just going to ignore everyone else and only hook one survivor? The traps are there to help create pressure and slow down the game, so why are you killing the one person with them on?

It genuinely baffles me so if any Pig mains, or Pig players in general, can answer that question, I'd be very thankful.

    Thanks.

GF/Pig Main. Don't boop my snoot.

Starting your post the way you did... just is way too salty lol. There are a lot of pig players. And we play pig knowing she is massively inconsistent and bottom tier. Your comment about the streamer... weird. Word of advice... check your attitude before posting on public forums. It doesn't translate well.

I'll go ahead and say a lot of times I leave people with the hat running around... but I will also tunnel you. I will get you immediately on second hook, and slug you every time you are in my pathing or use you late game to keep people off gens or coming back for you. If survivors are "body blocking me"... I get annoyed. And I will hit them and continue to come for you cause clearly they will keep wasting their time (to heal and to save you). Much better for me

A bad pig will KILL a hat wearer... a good pig will use you for mind games or stall power. It's all we have. Given most get their trap off by second attempt.

I can get you to second hook, slug you, chase everyone else, and control the game just fine. I don't do it all the time, but sometimes against a really good team who THROW THEIR GAME to protect others... is when it needs to be done.

You may not like my answer, and I don't care either way because it won't change how I play. 7/10 times you will get a fair game given I am not being trolling... but other times I just want to play a different way. One you may HATE but one that is totally legitimate.

  • I do not like the part system, at all. I understand the idea and it's very interesting... but I see way too many things that would go against killers or turn survivors into more weird players.

The ping system is needed..bad. But of course, as mentioned, with reworked/tweaked perks.

It's one mans likeness for a particular popular player with many followers who makes some sort of income playing, that despises the current state of the game enough to leave.

The game right now is in a pathetic place. Sure, feel forced to defend it all you want... it is objectively buggy as hell. Balancing is an absolute mess and far too many outdated mechanics.

Regarding the status effects, this is something we're looking to change, but sadly it won't be ready in time for the 4.5.2 update.

As for the rest- and other posts in the thread, I've been reading them even though I haven't had a chance to reply- thanks for the feedback. I'll keep passing it on and see what we can do.

What is the best move... honestly... is a choice between vertical or horizontal layout. I say that because BHVR seems so headstrong about the vertical change, but most of us find it bad. Plus, nothing on the UI should affect the field of view for the sides. Adept portraits are WAY better, different skins and the overall aesthetic is weird with portraits.

Since the update I haven't been having a whole lot of fun. With depiping at twice the rate, went from rank 4 to 7 survivor in one play session. Kept having games where people would suicide on the hook, disconnect, or on the killer side be really really toxic (Either in post game chat or in gameplay. 4-Man SWF bully squads are no fun.)

Frustrated and tilted I kept pushing on because I'm an idiot that can't learn to just stop playing if I'm not having fun.

Managed to line up a 4-man Mori team which I would like to show off. This will become my DBD Magnum Opus, painted by the suffering of survivors who had nothing to do with my frustration or Yamaoka's murder. With this satisfaction born of mindless bleed letting I can finally rest. Time to play something else for a while.

Side Note: I commend the survivors for not DCing when they saw what I was doing. It was not easy to make a 4-man slug army with everyone on death hook simultaneously. They kept insisting on reviving each other for some strange reason.

"They kept insisting on reviving each other for some strange reason."

Yea... I wonder why survivors would do that...

I've never seen such a mobilization of the community because of something so small. Yes, nobody asked for a UI change. Yes, it's all over the place. But I've already adjusted to it, and that means pretty much anyone can. If you need to see the information quickly, make it bigger. The new UI allows you to change the size of things. It's easy to tell when someone's injured, deep wounded, broken, etc. My only complaint is the placement of the score events. They are way out of the way, and would be better placed above the perks or your item or something. But to say that the game is "unplayable", to say that it's "ruined", to say that it's "dead" because of a UI change is just ridiculous. Y'all are making the pushback against the Nurse nerf, the DS nerf, the bloodlust removal, the Balanced nerf, and everything else seem like nothing compared to this. If y'all were up in arms about actual important issues the game has instead of being petty and choosing sides all the time, I'm sure DBD would be much better right about now.

Entitlement at it's finest. YOU do not decide what is small. YOU do not decide what people adjust to.

When you have the majority of the community, their OWN sponsored streamers/team, discord mods, and others saying the UI is all over the place and not good... you can not come here and just think it's nothing. Cool, you don't care. We don't care that you don't care.

You can not compare this to Nurse, DS, or ANY BALANCE RELATED THING. This is the USER INTERFACE. This is something that can not be turned off or changed. It lives with the player every second they play the game. The complaints are legitimate. Stop making false equivalents for your lackluster points.
