I think I heard developers are already going to do another change, because they realize that, while they've added the new vial, they aren't incentivizing using it. There's no real benefit to an extra 10% speed boost that will also benefit survivors, when the clown is already 15% faster by default, gains bloodlust, and his purple vials already slow the survivor by 15%. As such, people won't bother using the yellows. From what I understand, they are considering reducing his base movement speed to compel use of the yellow vials. That, or they may have to either remove the speed penalty from the purple vials, or make them also impact him same way the yellow vials would.
The fk are you talking about? This is literally you making this up. And if you watched the recent streams from the devs on twitch... it is exactly the opposite of what you're saying. There aren't any plans for ANY change like this.

Well, as a rank 1 player on both sides that plays alot of pig... she does have map pressure. Problems lie more in how weak she is in a chase and keeping pressure based on RNG (as I have literally had hundreds of games where the helmets are taken off first or second try by all survivors.) Even so, it's tremendous pressure in other games if it goes my way. Generally keeping 2 hats on 2 survivors and constantly slugging 3rd hookers to bait their team.
Add-ons are pretty bad. Her saving grace is certainly NOT her ambush (though it's useful mid-loop)
I like your hint at a better FOV for her. Should be a bit wider for ambush. I wish it could grab people off gens for how little gen pushing with it works (but I understand that not being possible.) It's a killer I don't mind someone running NOED on her as her only real ability can be erased so easily and you're left with a very punishing super lunge or a basic m1 killer.

Watching dev on twitch said it's not intended

Its not about giving teammates hatch. People should be able to die if they want to whether it is because a game is hopeless, they don't want to be saved (Ex: Killer hard camping them at EGC w/ gates done) or an example I had just a few days ago where I had a killer who was using modded files... Or VPN/high latency killer which hit validation did not fix. If I play a Peruvian or Chilean with high ms I'd rather die on hook.
No, players shouldn't be able to lol. Tbat's foolish. And it's more often used by crybabies who are triggered or bad teammates that just want to throw... or coordination for hatch.
This archaic style of "gameplay mechanics" needs to die. Quick.

Discord is for communication. Its purpose is not only related to DBD or playing DBD or SWF. Putting a crosshair in the middle of your screen has a clear purpose: to help you do better as Huntress than you would normally. This is the textbook definition of cheating.
Uh? Did you read this yourself? Or no? Your logic is... hilarious.

Nighttime is always slow for SWF . I play a lot of SWF and we wait a good chunk of time. It makes sense. we come across 2 types of killers now and it is sort of sad
Killer a.) -Try hard Esport wannabe who tunnels/camps/slugs - We usually lose with maybe 1 to 2 getting out, but can easily get all 4 killed
Killer b.) Either newbie killer due to matchmaking or killer not running meta perks and not camping/tunneling, and we usually win. 1 out of 5 games, maybe 1 out of 4 people die.
1 game per week, is actually a close game, where we felt it was close and even, and actually really intense, but felt fair (why the ######### do we still play? too lazy to find another game since we have a group of 7 friends that rotate in and out throughout the week and its a pain to get everyone to agree on what to play next)
You.... Made killer A like... 4 different types of killers lol. Kind of weird to put tryhard esport wannabe as if trying hard in a game versus 4 others who have many benefits on their side... as a negative thing? What people say is tunneling is often not or is forced by the team, slugging is a completely fair tactic, and camping (face camping hooks) is absolutely not someone who fits all of those categories.
And if it's end game, btw... ALL is fair. Even camping a hook.
-
Yes you will probably get "oh he is easily countered blah blah" but there is a reason is the one of the dbd meme killers lol because bad killers just hook someone and face camp because they KNOW unless a team has BT... he can down multiple.
His entire design, honestly, is for a gamer who wants their hand held.

Okay I won't. A lot of killer perks aren't "counterable" either they can only be mitigated. They don't get touched either because they don't need to be. BBQ cannot be countered as you say only "mitigated" as you say. And its been that way for a lot longer than current DS.
DS and Unbreakable isn't invincible, what kind of silly argument is that. If DS+Unbreakable were invincible we'd have a 100% survivor escape rate.
I love when people talk out of their biased cheeks. BBQ has counters lol!! And also quote a distance for you to react on top of counters. DS is abused by players to bait the killer or in situations that leaves the killer no options. #########... even NOED has totems along with a good player being able to outrun. Whereas DS is an easy-mode undo button. What's supposed to be an "anti-tunnel" is extended into stupid skilless tactics and unhealthy gameplay

So basically cheat.
Honestly, in 2021... she should have a tiny dot lol. Btw, it's not cheating. And if it was, should EAC detect discord as well?

If you bring 2 keys, I am dodging. Don't care. It's my game and I will do exactly what I want as long as it allows me to do so without punishment. I Hate the damn key/hatch mechanic and how it makes survivors play this game. Absolutely no fun for me. 4 toolboxes? Yea, sure I may play it. Or I may dodge, depends on how I feel.
And anyways, it's about MY fun at the end of the day.

When survivors aren't chased by the killer during a match and escape, they still lose bloodpoints and may even cause them to derank.
For example, if the killer spends the whole match chasing another survivor and never start a chase with you, you're punished.
If you decide to be stealthy and avoid the killer to focus on objectives, you're punished.
You should not have to come in contact with the killer in order to gain bloodpoints to progress, the point of the game is to avoid the killer and escape.
It appears you don't understand the system. You won't lose rank if you "over" do anything. Heal past max, repair gen beyond max, etc. Honestly, what really shows me you don't understand is that the person looping the killer gets hurt the worst. If you loop the killer for 5 gens straight, you barely get any bloodpoints and are punished GREATLY for doing the HARDEST job there is.
If you ask me, gen repair and farming hooks (which many do)... rewards players too much. Chase should reward players way more as it isn't just holding M1 afk on a gen. I do believe gen repair is important, but to say you want less punishment for doing the easiest part of the game is wild to me.
"The point of the game is to avoid the killer..."
Actually, no it isn't. It is to play cat and mouse with the killer. It's not to hide the entire game. So of course, if you skip the "dance" with the killer you should get less points. Also, "escaping" depends on what you're in it for. Maybe winning to you is you escaping. Maybe for others... it is risking their game to get everyone out. Top level players should have looping skills. If you don't have any lack of reward for someone who avoids the killer, then what would be the point of any rank or mmr system?
-
Honestly, with the licensed killers... and if they can finally push out proper updates to refresh outdated mechanics... it can last another 5+
-
To be honest, only the KILLER should control where the hatch goes. Never the survivor. Keys and hatch escape promotes terrible gameplay and playstyles. Also, often times... a duo que will ditch their randoms to leave or let them die for hatch to spawn lol
-
I'd love to believe this, but I have a bad feeling it is just... not here. And that sucks.
-
As stupid as it is, I usually can tell. and if I can't, that's on me. And it's a laugh

It is intended to stop tunneling, quoting the devs themselves on ds.
"serves the purpose to protect you from being tunneled/ farmed"
source: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/48381/design-decisive-strike
Ah yes BUT the timer also stops slugging to a degree. It is far too overtuned

I play both equally. It needed a nerf. I think we need to see it play out.

Yeah, no. The problem lays with the entire "go back to Rank 20" reset. Somebody who doesn't have much time to play the game regurlaly but not often, will bearly hit high rewarding levels, while the ones that put time into it will. It's another grind incentive, that it's actually harmfull for players and incentives to unhealthy sweaty play, that makes you play more than you want to. And even if you won't be part of it, you will feel it. People will sweat for pips, especially close to the reset etc.
And it just adds. It adds more to stuff like challenges, Rift, login bonuses etc. It's just another grind added to the game. And it will work. Sadly. It will work to hook people and boost the player base in an unhealthy way.
I am willing to bet it will NOT affect the player base boosting in any way. Anyone who has played long enough and stuck around... will not care for the 250k BP. The same people that play now will the ones playing for every reason but that.

Step 1. Tunnel someone straight off hook, pick them up and find out they don't have Decisive.
It's impossible for the Survivors to come back from that early of a kill. Never lost a game where that happens it's comparable to having a green mori before they nerfed them.
You must not be very good at this game cause this won't work

I am a long time killer and I simply do not understand how so many killers can get upset about DS.
The devs won’t change it because the survivor can only use it ONCE. This means the absolute MAXIMUM amount of times a killer can be stunned by it is 4.
Just eat the stun. It’s really not that crippling. That survivor is now vulnerable for the remainder of the trial.
This mentality is the same line of thinking I feel the developers have. And this is a really poor take.
DS is abused by groups (or coordinated randoms) to bait you into the stun and loss of time. This is supposed to be an anti-tunneling perk. Yet it's mechanics operate in situations like running into lockers and at end gates. Also, this is more designed to be anti-slugging with the ridiculous timer that someone can pretty much crawl out of an exit gate from so far away before it runs out... or use unbreakable... or coupled with borrow time lol. It rewards too many errors. If four people run DS on the team... it's literally poison to any skilled killer.as now you HAVE to tunnel because you sure as ######### shouldn't have to wait out timers all damn game. Which forces you to slug while this SWF constantly gets each other up and resets. At this point, the game just becomes about taunting and offensive plays.
Survivors play with way too much in their favor, to be honest.
-
Oh god forbid there is any level of tiny skill for an ability that is so terribly abused and rewards lack of.
Supposed to be anti-tunnel, but if that's true, it should expire twice as fast (not work in lockers, and not work in exit gate).
-
Honestly, if it died yesterday it would have outlived most releases

Many have spoken lol.

To be honest, it wasn't even that powerful to begin with. You run the perk combo with a steady team and they will still eat you alive. It mostly served its purpose for solo Q plebs.
Then it is powerful. Because this game shouldn't be built around the "steady team" mechanics it's becoming to satisfy some odd desires for survivor-fandom. Now, I love playing survivor a lot but even I got to admit, I intentionally do NOT run meta perks because of how pathetic of a player you have to be to coordinate these perks to erase mistake after mistake.
-
absolutely needs to have permanent rewards for reaching ranks.

I don't understand why so many people think they will throw the speed boost at the survivors. The idea is that you throw between you and the survivor so you get the speedboost and they don't.
If you allow the survivor to get the speed boost you just f'ed up
depends. cause you get it too. and you can redirect them.

They made the Adepts easier by resetting everyone to 20. Now you don't have to derank for hours to do them without having to pull your hair out because you're at red ranks and I love that. I can just wait a few days while everyone's being ranked by the MMR and then go for the Adept.
I'm not sure how I feel about the new Clown and new Game yet.
Disappointed but not surprised Undying got nerfed and that it was the only thing that got changed from Blight's chapter.
I'm really liking the hook counter, Crotus Prenn's confirmed rework, and new Survivor crawling animation.
Well, from what I understand...
Even when you are reset to 20 in future resets.... you keep your "MMR." So you will be rank 20 playing against others who were red rank previously. So technically, rank number itself will be meaningless, well... even more so
-
I LOVE the idea of portraits tbh. Other than that, I hate the placement. And the color blind issue mentioned above is valid
-
@Star99er said:
Because DS isn’t a major issue. As someone who plays both Survivor & Killer in red ranks it’s pretty easy to avoid DS, the only time where it might be unavoidable is when the gates are open and you’re trying to secure a kill by going after the same person.
- The end gate and locker abuse of DS is unintended I am sure. The end gate especially needs to BE GONE. That's just stupid.
- DS shouldn't have such a long timer. It's to avoid TUNNELING, not SLUGGING.
- Rank 1 killer and surv here. It's stupid from both perspectives. And I am tired of survivors relying on it to do stupid #########. And I do like the "idea" of it, just not the way it is currently.
-
I'd be happy with just an animation that can be punished. That'd be nice. Would calm down the SWF all running to the hatch and waiting til you find them.. then instantly popping in right in front of you.
-
For a real ranked system to be "desirable" the amount of BP earned per red rank would be bonus. So depending on your play time... you can either not play and get little... or play a TON of red rank games and farm as much as you can. (maybe 15% per game)
And a permanent reward for rank 1 would be nice. Maybe a counter for each reset you reach from this point forward?
-
Love the LOOK of the new UI.. portraits/hook. What I do NOT like is the placement. Keep the same look at the bottom please. I don't want visual clutter when I am looping whether kill/survivor

Probably for the same reason killers hate DS/UB: They're crybabies who want easy games. Just like 9/10 of killer players on this forum.
As someone who plays and enjoys both sides. This is stupid. Like... really stupid. DS is used too offensively and for cheese plays to erase mistakes or abuse mechanics with no punishment (end gate.) It also should NOT be able to be bait for a locker.
Unbreakable... I honestly have zero problem with.

These "buffs" will not even take them out of the low tiers. They still will be unviable against decent survivors.
I can't agree. I think Clown now has better play potential and reload speed is big for the time. Wraith buff is much better than people think here. I like the trapper nerf/buff.

The game rules (https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/kb/articles/139-game-rules) say that the following is a violation:
Using 3rd party software or other tools to gain any kind of unfair advantage that wasn’t intended by the game, except if they have been whitelisted by us.
A crosshair overlay gives an advantage (for example on Huntress, Deathslinger). Having a crosshair is not intended by the game. It is an unfair advantage because you can not get it in-game without using 3rd party software or other tools. The software is not whitelisted. Therefore using it is a violation of the rules.
Did I go wrong somewhere? Using that kind of software seems like "textbook" definition of using a cheating tool to me.
Except a dev themselves said it's not bannable on a stream. You can't ban all crosshairs, most are using it with the build in feature in MANY monitors. Also, there are old fashioned ways to never get caught. Big streamers admit to using a crosshair, so not much to be done there.
-
The rewards are bad. It should be more bloodpoint reward percentages per game based on rank. Would encourage the grind. #########, people would love some sort of rank REWARD in the sense of a counter for how many times you've been 1. But that's just a quick weak example. We want something... permanent.
-
Whrn is this patch?
-
I hate this entire idea. I agree there needs to be change, but NOT this one
-
oh the hitboxes are really bad. not going to lie. like... atrocious and there to give bad players the upperhand. Sucks when someone skilled abuses how bad they are
very skilled at both killer and survivor. It's annoying to go against and it's funny when I know I shouldnt have hit something
-
a good ghostface or pig can be really fun to play against if you ditch info perks. I personally love it
-
You know to be honest... SWF is ANNOYING at times but it is not the problem. It's the broken mechanics around it. The DS and other meta perks make it unbearable at times (key coordination, DS at exit gates and other baits, borrowed time swaps with hook blocking while 2 guys point a flashlight in your face lol.) Many things just are overwhelmingly unpunishable when a team carries spine chill + kindred or Object of Obsession and can constantly reveal your location at ALL TIMES.
It's a little unfortunate that the "horror" part of this game fades far too quick as you either have comms or perks that alert you and give so much info, plus offensive perks that erase your mistake constantly.
My own example today is a 4 man ttv squad. Finished the game after 4king them (all red rank but they just kept slipping up with my pig traps so RNG pretty much was in my favor for once.) But I knew they were a toxic SWF, so I had to tunnel... hook 2 next to each other... periodically hit boxes to slug a ticking hat wearer, and really just be annoying.
So I go to the stream of one after to rewatch the footage to see if I can learn something. And 3 of them HAD EACH OTHERS STREAMS OPEN so they didn't need info perks. And bragged/laughed about it. Thankfully, again... the horrible design of pigs RNG played in my hand lol.
There are major issues on BOTH sides (killer/survivor) and when you play against a decent SWF... it is amplified and ruins your perspective of the game. This game is in need of major balancing/tuning as well as updated mechanics. Til then we get charms <3
-
So being someone new to the game, how does it work with these guys? Do they just pick one map and release an update or is it both? And how soon would a mid-chapter patch be with some changes to the game?
