They do have red rank devs (though admittedly I watch them go against purple and green ranks often... and red rank means VERY little)
The game is survivor sided in many ways. I agree with most of your rant but the energy of your message just seems entitled and toxic... and won't go well here <3.
Sure the devs annoy the ######### out of me with their weird directions for the game and odd changes, but they do play their own game (a few are quite decent.)

And btw I'm rank 5 and I'm facing red rank killers so yeah
uh... yes? You should be fighting the next rank tier up at rank 5

Ignore what I said, I thought it was from the perspective of the killer. :)

edit

So I brought this up to the devs on twitch the other day, and they said...
"it is being discussed currently internally"
Let's be honest... it's not immersion and it's not necessary anymore. It's just outdated and tedious for no reason. Also grooms players to give up on hook
-
You know what the problem is? Too many players think they have to save everyone... they will literally blame a killer for running NOED as their friend is hooked and they can do little about it. How about this? Noed happens, you accept it. Open door, leave?
Killers lose an entire perk spot to run this, and the only possible nerf I "could see" is a limit on when it procs depending on how many players are alive. However, I honestly think the perk is fine. As someone who plays survivor a lot, I went from HATING this perk to understanding the many reasons it is there. And if I am hit by NOED.. i want my team to leave. If I am being camped with NOED, I do the shirty thing and let go off the hook to spare my team from just being picked off (solo q vibes)
-
Literally you can't ban it lol. I can adjust my graphics card or monitor settings and there will not zero possible way enforce any ban on that. It won't happen. This is not some pro eSport game, so it's not even necessary to care all that much.

I wish everyone that blames the killer for tunnelling can actually realise most of the time it’s their teammates’ fault rather than the killer, just like you
I mostly play as killer, so when I play as survivor I can see that most of the time it is my teammates’ fault.
Hope you have a great day playing this game.
The amount of people bombing hooks for the stacks or just to have altruism cause they didn't do ######### else is... sad. And often forces a killer to return to the hook because it's done 2 seconds after they leave or right in their face
So many players cry tunneling, which can obviously be valid, when it's a perfectly reasonable killer call or isn't actually that. If I know one particular survivor is leagues better than the rest at looping, I am going to tunnel that mfer. But many times in a SWF they will do all sorts of stupid and cocky plays to rescue their friend or flashlight/hook bomb without BT... OH YEA, you are getting tunneled. Why? Cause the group is trying to abuse all the bad game design (when they can just wait 5 seconds when I leave) to save you and now I just want to ruin your fun and the team vibe. Plus hey, I need to make it a 1v3 so I can actually enjoy those kind of games

@QwQw said:
How about no? Ds is way to abusable, and that fact that so many people complain about it highlights this fact. The absolute last thing the devs need to do this perk is buff it. Also, it's kinda hard to for me to take you seriously when you when you complained about Corrupt Intervention that one time.
This is a bait post my friend

so if someone is struggling or enters into phase two causing the end of the game, it's just as easy to award full struggle points to them and still end the game right there.. there is a maximum amount of struggle points why not grant it because the game requires the end early.
Because I don't want to bandaid a system that needs to be reworked. Forget those 900 points. There is more issues with hook states and the mechanics that should be addressed. It's a stupid reward, as well as unsafe unhooks.
-
@Almo Regarding this clip, it really does feel like one of those "one day in the coming year or years it will be changed." Understandable to a degree (marketing) but I do wish there was a better connection to the playerbase of this long-running video game. It's a work of art in many respects, but also has so many glaring problems. Decisive Strike is an anti-tunneling perk. Is that all it is? Well, no. But it should be. Right now it is used in conjunction with other perks to create extended spans of invincibility. It's used to bait the killers (lockers, end-gates, running straight into them). It erases not only a players mistake far after a "tunneling" period... but it can completely erase mistakes of other players.
One DS stun can literally take 20-40 seconds of a killers time to recover from the moment. You are left with odd alternatives... Strange ones that create very clunky and unpleasant gameplay. I love playing both sides (survivor maybe a little more) but also a good bit of killer. I see what my friends do with it and I also clown them for being less-skilled players relying on abusing this perk because a killer outplayed them. I see how it grooms other players to play the game as more of a "gotcha" moment than a dance with the killer. It does feel these days you are fighting against perks and not players.
I'm sure your team has 10 iterations of the perk laid out by now. The wording in this clip is a tiny bit disingenuous to the many skilled "top level" players that work very hard against full-stacked SWF to even just random good survivors paired with multiple DS everywhere. This perk needs to be changed in a way that allows it to have more longevity depending on scenarios, and less if player is left alone. I don't feel it should be used as bait anymore (or offensively, which causes players to forget the game in general and just abuse the perk because it leaves the killers without much options.)
Anyways. I did enjoy Scott's idea to have this perk timer cut down to 30seconds and the timer stops if being actively chased off hook. I'd love to see it disable in lockers/end-gate area (as much as I would LOVE to see Hag traps disable around unhooked survivors). I think it's time to really start redesigning anything in this game that "allows and encourages" players to treat the killer like it's not a killer.
-
Can't blame the killer... sorry
-
@JordanMalicious said:
I know some people don't care about struggle points, probably a lot of killers, probably even some survivors, but it's still points we can't get because the second you are unable to be rescued, you get killed on hook.
May not seem like much, but it's still BP. Would be nice to get them, or an amount equal to what would've been earned by struggling on hook.
This is where I hard disagree. Game needs to be OVER if no one can save you. What they need to do is get rid of the stupid Struggle mechanic in place of a system that doesn't groom players to be toxic by throwing the game or giving up... or losing to a bug/connection error where it doesn't register. Forget the pathetic 900 bloodpoints that can't even get you a brown item.
Rework struggling to not require constant button tapping because it's more annoying than engaging.
-
I have personally sat by a hook to be hooked with some killers if I did enough in the game to not care

Never said I don't think she needs buffs because she does. A killer can be mid tier and still be on the lower side of mid tier. She's definitely not on the higher end of mid tier. However to say that she's only m1 if survivors are even half coordinated is incorrect. If you play her super well then you should know how to mindgame loops and get hits with her dash. It doesn't always work, but it works more than you'd think.
Rank 1 both sides. easily. I play her very well. She is certainly low mid-tier if we are going to call her mid. I'd place her in low tier. Her ambush is actually quite trash, though can be used mid looping. The poster above this nailed it, her consistency is far too pathetic to be considered anything but low to low-mid. You can win a game with ANY killer with great game sense... but you have to have some objective things to talk about.
-
@ChurchofPig said:
For those who understand how to use her ability PROPERLY they understand that she is a mid tier killer. However those who don't know how to play her (constantly crouching at unnecessary moments in the game/tunneling those with a trap on) believe her to be low tier since they don't understand her power. At least that's what I've learned.
Disagree. I mainly play pig. I find her to be low tier. Purely RNG based and any half coordinated team turns you into an m1 killer easily. Do I 4k and win a lot of games? Sure. Does that mean Pig is good? Hell no. Pig is in serious need of buffs/rework

And man was it fun. It was a rank 3 and we had to rush the gens. Wish i recorded it. Photo finish literally. Palms sweaty. Heart pounding. I dont usually play injured but there was no time to heal.
Someone brought a key and 2 people jumoed through hatch as i lay on the ground. A felix came back for me and we dodged the one hatchet and booked. Finally found the gate and she went after me but i was downed quickly. Felix led her on a chase and i got my unbreakable.
She downed him as i pulled the handle to the gate. Luckily it was mothers dwelling. Got to 99 when i had to dodge her throw. Made it out with about 5 seconds left in egc.
Felix didn't, but i will remember and honor his sacrifice.
That was an intense game and all around fun experience. I know iri head is going to go bye bye at some point, but that was literally the most fun i have had in months.
Just thought i would share
Games like that are always fun. The iri head, while bullshit and in need of a nerf though I abuse it, is fun when you make it out because the huntress wasn't that good

@ShamelessPigMain said:
Look, I'm a killer main but I can recognize that there's usually a purpose to this. Leaving will remove you from the equation, so it essentially abandons other survivors who may not be at a gate. If they're all just waiting there, then they're just trying to assert dominance and there's nothing you can do. It's not always toxic either; sometimes, it can be like what soccer players do after a match. I get item donations if survivors feel I played well too.
As for teabagging at the gates, that's half the reason I run NOED and blood warden.
oh ######### someone actually notices the donations hahahaha. I will ALWAYS give an item up if a killer either was nice to let me go, played really well and waits at the gate head nodding us leaving. It's really a gesture of "hey thanks for the game" than it is toxic
But I am also toxic too. and i want to dance end gate. I give you an extra hit but really I just want to taunt you. Usually if you tunneled someone or kept going back to hooks. Sometimes I just want the timer to go down to if I felt the killer was being toxic as well, and I will make you wait the game out. :) Don't care about wasting my time in that scenario, I enjoy being a little toxic at times
-
Well, as someone who solos to rank 1 so easily, I might suggest you either
a) aren't as good as you think you are
b) don't understand how to PIP up
Yes, I agree... matchmaking is awful and you will have many bad games. But your luck seems... like... maybe you need a break or to re-evaluate your skill level. And at rank 5, you SHOULD be fighting red rank killers.
-
I HIGHLY doubt there will be Alien lol. Not sure why this is a running idea
-
favorite: Gideon, Ormond
worst: swamp, macmillian, autohaven
-
I never ever see Doctor. Like Ever. I see spirit, hag, ghost, bubba
The occasional Oni
-
Oh it is common... but reporting it? Why lol? Often times the surv just has an unpleasant pathing that happens to lead into a teammate.. or is last hook and is trying to get this killer off when others aren't attempting to.

I see a lot of killer mains for lack of a better phrase and let’s be not everyone gets a trophy brutally honest, crying on here about how Hurd it is. They only got an average of 3 kills out of 5 games. My suggestion for the legions of killers crying about keys, crying about being looped, hatched, that this perk is op and that one is op, but BBQ is fine and apparently no killer is op but 1/2 the survivors are, spend some time as a survivor. Learn to get used to being killer fodder...
Bait lol

How are you supposed to do that if you don't know that you will play on that map? I'm afraid the changed brightness will look bad on other maps if I would change.
What you do is lift your gamma in your card settings and it keeps every map looking fine.
-
Maybe $30 total with sale DLC and one Rift
-
Killers can not hold a game hostage. Only survivors can. You can argue slugging all players is, but you'll eventually die out. Thing is, the twins have so much wrong in their design (no victor chase points, body blocking, weird hitbox with victor)
So honestly, as much as they want to save you, you just got to eat the loss at times. The game rewards behavior like this and there isn't much you can do. It sucks but it is what it is

I’m a red rank survivor and for the past 5/6 games I’ve been in lobbies with brown / green ranks. It’s horrendous. Why is this happening all of a sudden?
Myself and 5 other friends have noticed this. As well as watching Otz and another streamer, their games are full of rank 12-20 with one red rank mixed in. I'm constantly paired with low ranks as a surv, and when I play killer there is usually 2 people who are completely clueless as to how to loop.
-
@Blueberry said:
I don't seem to have these same issues with Spirit at all. She's quite out playable.
Honestly, depends on rank in this matter and whether or not the killer wants to bring specific add-ons that make going against her insanely unfun. Sure, everything is outplayable at anytime... but then you have consistent problems. Now, if you try to tell me you are Rank 1 and outplay Rank 1-2 spirits easily, then I would have to call your bluff.
-
Eh, if i notice a claudette crouching wround trying to abuse camouflage or self-caring all the time, I tunnel her ;)

Oop I'm sorry I didn't see that, nor do I watch Scott Jund
If you think I've stolen your idea sorry, but I didn't do it on purpose, great minds and all
Oh I don't think you stole anything because it's hardly mine, but I typed it less than 10 minutes ago lol
-
I literally just typed this example in a recent thread lol. Like... exact. Not only that, I got the base of my thoughts from Scott J. who pretty much already laid out a very similar fix.
-
To me slugging is completely legitimate and fair for a killer. Sure, hate when it happens to me... but I respect it. Take a killer like hag, that excels at slugging. I could never be mad then, so I won't be at all.
-
Reduce timer to 25-30 seconds. Deactivates when another player is hooked or touching gen. Cooldown stops if being chased. So if a killer tries to hunt you off a hook fresh, your timer can be 100 seconds if ypu continually loop him, but 25s if he leaves you alone.
If killer slugs you, then oh well. Blame your teammate for the unsafe unhook for their WGLF stacks. :) but seriously, this is why I think 3s borrowed time should be given to all players off a hook (wheras the perk can extend thar time to 6 or more)
-
@HelloAgainMr said:
My friends keep giving up on second hook because they say that their input always drops. I barely have this problem myself besides early on when I was mashing too fast.
My theories for what's causing them to die is they are either:
A: Mashing too fast
or
B: Not actually hitting the key or something
Any recommendations?
Yes, many people lose on 2nd hook due to an input error. It's common. But a lot just give up for whatever reason. It's sad this mechanic still helps groom toxic behavior like this and also just in general.. is quite outdated/silly at this point.
-
Solo survivor is not as bad as many make it seem. It's more just annoying often. You got mind gamed by a pig pretending to be nice. pretty funny imo
-
I maintain rank 1 easily solo. I bounce back and forth as rank 1 doesn't have any real staying power, but always maintain. Rank 1 isn't really about being the best teammate, to be honest. And it's also playing around other teammates habits.

Hmm, the more time passes the worse The Twins are conceptually, mechanically and so on.
I understand your take and actually totally get it. For some reason... I LOVE the idea behind them just not how it actually plays out. There needs to be a lot done to make it actually fun to play against or play. Victor's slugging power and quick constant release is stupid, but my main gripe atm is the lack of points/value dealing with him.
If he jumps on my head, I literally just run across the map and kidnap him. Just out of boredom.

The devs have stated its design is not first and foremost anti-tunneling. Its an offensive perk.
It is not an offensive perk. I'd like you to show me where it's been labeled as such. And even if so, it's still TERRIBLE game design the way it currently is.
-
Lol.
-
@Orionbash said:
You know what else is unfair? Getting camped and tunneled. Stop camping/tunneling and DS wont be used as often. Simple as that.
Oh please. Like the perk needs to be 60 ######### seconds. That has nothing to do with camping or tunneling. Neither does using it as locker bait
Good perk, bad design. Drop it to 25-30s seconds and it's anti-tunneling. Remove the use in end-gate area and locker abuse.

Nothing wrong with that shot. The Huntress was able to thread their shot between two objects where any other huntress would more than likely miss.
There's also many instances where hatchets blow up in thin air. It's up to the players to find where they can throw and where they are vulnerable.
Absolutely false. If you slow it down and watch it, that is not what happened. Like at all. For one, I had already passed that mark a good bit ago, and two, my head is not visible at all in that spot it registered. Please don't make things up

Thing is,they can't touch hitboxes of anything because it could seriously mess with the entire game.
They are ok for the most part,it's just lag/ping related issues that make hitboxes look super awful sometimes.
They certainly are not okay, but I agree that if they attempted to adjust and fix them... it would absolutely break the entire game. And it's not just lag/ping. That only exaggerates a bigger problem. The devs want people to be very easy to hit. Just annoying I guess

The game would feel overall worse if they made survivor hitboxes smaller. Not to mention how out of wack muscle memory will be for killer lunges.
for one, I and many other players do not care for the muscle memory of lunges if the game is improved. I am killer and I also know when my hits were BS and it's a good bit of time I wish there was a higher skill ceiling.
-
@Endorb said:
I mean, the survivor hitboxes are a little bit taller than the model, which can indeed lead to some unfair-feeling ranged hits. Though, when it comes to people talking hitbox shenanigans I find more of them can be explained by lag than hitboxes themselves being an issue. Would love to see the hitbox visualization. The PTB accidentally gave survivors the dev aiming reticule, so we'll see lol
Yes I agree with all of this, but I also do think they are probably way too wide and too tall. Especially given that you can run down a hallway and get hit by a hatchet with a VERY forgiving margin (same with lunges and same with gunslinger). Lag / bad hit registration is for sure a reason for a lot of this, but I think a good bit of it is just archaic game design
-
Dead Hard (as someone who plays alot of killer) is not OP and i punish it 70% of the time. It's very little an issue for me even in red rank.
DS and even spine chill (as a pig player) are the only horribly designed mechanics that ruin the experience. As a survivor I won't ruin any perks that are "meta" but that's just for my own personal goal.

To add on to this they said rank will NOT be spread across killers and killers will have their own ranks differed from other killers
Misinformation. That is not what they said. Like... at all.
Your rank (which is meaningless anyways, just more so now) will be the same. Your MMR across killers will be different. So you can be rank 1 with higher MMR on one killer, choose another kill you don't play (or play well) and be rank 1 fighting lower skilled survivors.
But your rank never changes by killer. Just MMR. (internal)
-
Honestly. This is a great thread that won't get noticed. The stealth killers have such a charm bringing the horror element into it. Things like spine chill (which in red ranks is ran by ALOT) give so much warning even for non stealth... but really do impact gameplay negatively when stalking already forces your early game to make all the difference requiring gen slow downs to stand a chance by any half decent team.
I would love to see a spine chill adjustment that takes into account all the time you lose getting around as a stealth killer. A major range reduction of the perk for undetectable statuses would be amazing
-
Yea it was a big part of the chat, asked like 10 times. And he assured it is NOT meant to be that way and will be fixed. Now, will they fix it in time for release? I sure hope so. Because the amount of bugs that I saw in his stream was... really... sad
-
It's really that it's more annoying to play killer, honestly. There is little fun for me personally at this point. Thankfully I play both
