No - Stop punishing killers for playing the game

    It didn't work for camping

    It won't work for tunneling

100 times over it didn't do anything for camping it just makes killers double down on it once they know they're at the point of no return and if anything it made the issue worse.

dezzmont pretty much said everything else that needed to be said about the issue.

Pretty much since I was fairly young I have the mindset if I know I'm gonna get in trouble for something I didn't do especially, but even if I did do it, either do it or do it even harder and make it worth it. lol. Also i think they banned my IP address on these boards since they justs topped working and giving errors without turning on my vpn extension in the browser. smooth move exlaxes

  • You should change the tunnel to "Should Titling be Rewarded Through Depipping and Avoiding the Most Annoying SWF More Often" I had worked out how to have fun and make some solid bp without pipping, and would just afk a game or two in a row when I screwed after playing killer once it was back down toward 20 to keep a pool of easier survivors. Since I couldn't derank at those ranks, I would just avoid pipping enough to rank up was all. And had fun doing it. The matchmaking has been a mess for a while though so obviously that doesn't matter any more so I hadn't played killer for a while. hue hue hue

It’s funny that people actually defends keys.. after the mori nerf

Both of them was considered the most broken thing in the game before mori change. But after that keys are fine now? Really?

Before landing into a lobby with a key or two or a map with them as a solo had me looking for the hidden offering from the killer to know if I had to play super stealthy that game and also worrying a survivor was gonna crash it on offerings with a hidden killer offering (hypocrites lol) and make me have to queue again. Naturally the swf did not want the killer to be able to ruin their cheese with a mori so they wanted moris gone, and they are gone now without a chance for the killers to enjoy them while they still could unlike the with the keys.

So now, survivors don't see an issue with keys since a solo could follow a swf around and jump out the hatch with them (not a common thing ata ll, but I have done it myself once in a while as a solo survivor that landed in with a duo or 3 man's lobby that weren't toxic to me) and they also know the guy with the key if he doesn't hide it in a chestw ith an item swap is gonna probably be the first one the killer goes after. and the swf can look out for each other on comms while they work throught heir plans with their hatch offering not even needing a map to find the hatch quickly any more. So of course survivors are okay with it, and killers queues were so fast they probably got a kick out of dodging key lobbies and imagining how long those groups were waiting there for a killer. So some of them probably stopped caring too since they didn't expect any changes anyways I think.

If you have time to heal, then you're not being tunneled. I think it should count as healing or healing someone else a full heath state though, so that way your teammates don't accidentally start healing you.

    That's a very good point.

  • I've used distressing/insidius/monitor on camping invisible wraith before for the lulz, I've also used those and did not use invisibility on the camping wraith for the same lulz

  • I haven't played yet, but I don't believe so. It has been confirmed you can still use a locker after a bad unhook which is good. if somebody uses that to troll just ignore it and let them waste their time. most people that weren't trying tot roll with the perk shouldn't have their gameplay feel different in most situations since if you went to a safe gen and put some time into it byt he time the kilelr found you again or during the nextc hase it would have worn off before anyways. I stopped using it outside of real bad nights or trying to troll with it once I looked at how often I actually got to use it to stay alive longer. It was only truly helpful combined with unbreakable, which took 2 perk slots and was an annoying combo for a killer to deal with since they had to micromanage survivors' own perks constantly.

  • keys should not work until either the gates are powered or you are the lasts urvivor left alive, so that they can reopen a closed hatch while the egc timer still goes down even then. anything else is not on par with mori, you can't get killed early, you can't escape early. hopefully the survivor queue time stays bad just a little bit longer to get them to do that fair change. those queue lengths are the only reason they finally put the needed conditions on ds and are even considering looking at object.

Exactly cause following the turn wasn't possible for some. Seems like players have had to compensate with play styles for a number of features.

just saying it's not like console players are all handicapped or naive lol, they'll figure things out.

  • spine chill is still the one to worry about for stealth killers since the proposed new object only activates once a minute on average iirc, while spine chill is constant but doesn't give directional queues like the aura would briefly. I suppose combined they might be a powerful combo sometimes, but, they also burn two perk slots out and limit the rest of their options.

  • It needs to be, to help with bad unhooks. This way the perk when used properly you shouldn't feel muchc hange from it, and it won't hurt solo survivors. If somebody uses a locker tot roll you they're wasting their own time unless you let them waste yours too by paying attention to them.

  • @Ivaldi said:

"The Devs just said that Keys aren't as big of an issue as keys because even though it might seem like there are a lot of issues there aren't that many hatch escapes via a key"

PLEASE... Stop relying on stats. The reason you dont see a lot of key escapes is because IF YOU BRING A KEY.. YOU GET TUNNELED. As killers we aren't just going to say "Oh you got a key? don't worry.. I'll let you survive till end game". So just because they don't escape, doesn't mean it isn't an issue.

they're probably gonna dump that key during a swap in a chest if they're in swf , only franklin's really helps against anybody with a key in a group lol. and could also lead to you catching somebody because they're not gonna wanna easily let the key go heh. if the killer you're using doesn't have franklin judge dodge the key lobby or any where somebodyd oesn't ready up

  • @DwightFairfield said:

I honestly would've preferred it if the timer was shorter but paused if you were in a chase, you can run out the timer while being chased and then lose on the perk that's supposed to protect you from tunneling.

    Overall, good changes

pausing during a chase would not address the swf problem though, and long swf queues are the reason it's even been addressed finally. it's received the necessary changes. It looks going byt he tooltip as if you can make it to a locker if there isn't a close pallet still if somebody pulls you down in front of a killer and you aren't down again already. And when you are down againa lready it'll still work for you if they pick you up too soon.

This is a good way to not hurt the solos but still address the issues the perk had. By the time a unhooked person made it on a safe generator and had put some second sinto working it, ds would probably have worn off byt he time the killer found them again or shortly intot he next chase anyways. So anybodya lready intending to use it properly shouldn't feel too impacted by it once they get used to it. And it should shave about 5 minutes off of evening survivor queue length within a few days. Coupled with this change, and the lunar festival especially if they did somehting about object too by then both roles should be enjoyable for me again between killer being fun again and survivor queues being fast again.

Finally.. killer experience is getting better for a change... I have been waiting this for ages, and now I’m so excited!

When will be the update? And where to look for more infos about this?

You have bore witness to the power of long survivor queues lmfao. That and A Way to be Dead seems to be coming out with some very interesting mechanics that could possibly compete with dbd. https://cogconnected.com/2021/01/way-dead-offers-multiplayer-guts/

  • @landromat said:

Locker DS can still stop you from slugging unhooked survivor which sucks. Sometimes you can't find the unhooker so slugging unhooked survivor is the only option you have

I noticed that in the tooltip and assume they kept it in there for bad unhooks, which is reasonable. If somebody is still jumping into alocker to troll they're onlyw asting their own time unless the killer lets them waste theirs too.

  • @DemonDaddy said:

Finally cleaning up the horrible looking ankle breaking turns. Besides that only works on new killers and players on systems with slower turning. (Pc has instant 180 capability, console doesn't)

console killers just stepped straight backwards and swung anyways once they got used to it

  • It's the swf queue times that did it, and object is only something they're considering and not a certainty yet, so keep the queue times long for survivors until it actually becomes a done deal.

  • @Ryan489x said:

Almost every topic I've seen save one about the Object and DS changes have left out one very important detail in red at the bottom.

The Object change is an Idea in early concept, it could change or not even happen, and they're welcoming feedback. They're showing us the idea super early so don't mess it up or we may never see an early idea again.

They're probably being open early about it to keep the killers they got left hangin on like kim wilde lol.

  • Long survivor queue times are godly, that is the only reason they are finally doing these long needed changes, behold the power of lengthy swf queues

  • Bear witness to the power of long survivor queues to bring about long needed changes. It's about time. Going byt he tooltip you might still be able to jump into a closet and use it, but if you wanna waste your time, I'm sure the killer is gonna be fine with that. Though it isn't a bad idea if somebody literally unhooks you in the killer's face and you can make it to one. devs can't fix your greedy or naive teammates they have to nerf themselves. Probablyw hy they still will let you do that, since you're only wasting your own time if done tot roll and to help on unsafe unhooks which makes sense.

how's the queue lengths tonight? Is it worth downloading this again yet?

  • how much chuck could a survivor chuck if a survivor could still chuck

  • I never used ds that way, and stopped using it unless I had several bad matches in a row on a night once I thought about just how odten I actually made use out of ds outside of saving it a few times to assure I got out the exit gate as long as I hit the skillcheck. I prefer iron will or calm spirit in it's place or once I start (if I start depends on if this picks up the queue times) playing again maybe bt to go with wglf. personally I usually got more use out of unbreakable than ds and I didn't even feel I got to use unbreakable often enough to justify the perk slot, until I removed it and wish I hadn't removed within the next few games heh.

  • points from hooking them again, also pips for those that care about their rank, it affects one of the medals. some also wanna feel they're enjoying the gameplaya nd playing a full match, and they find thatd iscouraging. much like you do when a teammate does it I reckon. I'd take the kill though since I preferred to not pip if avoidable while still getting a fair amount of bp once I saw it was more fun for me to avoid the sweatier groups appearing as much

  • Thank goodness I am still on there as independent since I don't support either set of liars lol. I don't vote since I see it as cartel 1 versus cartel 2 arguing over who gets to steal from us. That's scarier than most dbd killers though, maybe AOC should be the next licensed killer. She got dem crazy eyes. wooooshooosh snap... crazy eyes. If I saw that in game I'd probably drop the controller the first time. whether it's through jump scare or laughter I couldn't tell you yet, I just know it could lead to me dropping the pad.

Eh. I play against tournament sweat squads in KYF every other day. Honestly bored by the games I get from queueing regularly.

not everybody wants to deal with society and then that too. But at least you use KYF mode for what it's there for. so thank you for that.

  • @Ivaldi said:

With the nerf to DS if anything it just promotes tunneling or aggressive survivor gameplay even more.

    Lets paint a picture:

Survivor gets unhooked by an injured teammate and they decide to try and heal near the hook and the killer comes right back; now DS is gone.

Survivor gets unhooked and tries to use their medkit to self-heal and the killer comes right back; now DS is gone.

Killer hooks another survivor and then hooks you.. You deliverance off the hook and try and go for the save. You get the unhook but the killer immediately shows up 2 seconds later and downs you; now DS is gone.

Survivor gets unhooked and tries to run away; killer runs back to hook.. They're still being tunneled.

Now if i'm a confident looper or an aggressive survivor why would I risk losing DS in those 60 seconds by doing an objective when I can get better value out of it by abusing it?

deliverance is entirely under your control once you proc it, if you unhook yourself unsafely you have no one to blame but yourself. Also Kirkylad is absolutely right, if they wanna runa round and do nothing for a minute then ds change will be as good as ruin to them lmfao. the survivor defeating itself for them. even talking about changes like this and object is a good signt hat enough killers losing interest to noticeably hurt survivor queue times is an effective strategy. It seems from looking into the game's history the only way anything is really done to balance survivors instead of constantly nerfing killers every other patch. Good work guys lol killer might become enjoyable again.

Killers often don't pip even with a 4k. Survivors have multiple ways to pip, plus they can do next to nothing and still pip from an escape.

I mean I spawned the opposite side of the map to my 3 teammates 40 feet from killer. Literally game started and 5 seconds later killer has already spotted me and initiated chase. Worst part is, its deadzone central for pallets vs Bubba. So, that's pretty wizard I guess. 🙄

don't dc in those situations especially if you're experiencing the longer queues many are, just get as many chase points as you can and then hook suicide so you can set up the queue and then go watch a 7-13 minute youtube vid while you wait. Obviously don't do that if you manage to geta way fromt hem, you said it started you next to the killer in a deadzone is why i said get allt he chase points you can then hook suicide, which is what I have done when it's started me that way before. Queues weren't bad at those times though, now days, I'd probably close the game and play somehting else so it would look like a dc lol. But idc about the penalty myself when I'm done for the night or the week anyway

  • Swf would be seeing STARS if it was nemesis with a rocket launcher and they thought the body blocking was gonna be hampering the killer. But I'd rather they not get that license since I know they wouldn't do anything good with it. Capcom itself can't even make re asym work lol.

  • @SMitchell8 said:

Burned make for a decent status affect. Only can be fixed by medkit (burngel) or maybe a body of water on the map which would counter a fire killer. Burned could cause survivors to make a noise of pain when interacting with something.

probably too complex without redoing the game for them, they have trouble with new mechanics depending on what's done I think not a knock on them just how the game is. I thinkt he easiest way to handle a burn mechanic would be if you can nail a survivor with a power the next time they touch agen they scream from the damage on their hands. But that would just be a variant on an already recent perk from blight you just place it on the survivor and not a gen, so it's more of a variant or repeata nd kind of dullt hat way. But what would make the most sense from that angle would be akiller can heat up a generator and make the survivors touching it scream and face a great only skillcheck (with regression like old ruin if they don't hit the great check) on their next skillcheck with a 120 second cd on it as a perk. They would scream again if they stop repair on it and begin again after the skillcheck while it was still heated, but would only face the skillcheck on it once per survivor per use of the perk on the gen. That would be something fresh. Instea dof regressing the gen that would apply on the next kick after a hook or something, so it couldn't be abused by combing with pop to draw games out too long. I mean instead of instant regression, normal decay should still start after the kick.

Maybe give it a minute to last on a generator it's used on (or 45 seconds they would have to run it on the test server obviously and not just take potatoe's word for it) to make up for the long cd and to allow time to maybe get some actual use from it or deter repair of it long enough to matter in a match. Maybe make it 180 second cd if it would be too much of a problem. If they o the skillcheck successfully and stay on the gen they wouldn't scream again, untilt heys topped repairing it or another survivor came and had to got hrough the routine too. The skillcheck wouldn't be a problem since it would only occur once at the most every 2-3 minutes per survivor with those cooldown times and not be a constant thing. If they would still complain about that I don't know how to help them since they clearly won't help themselves.

I was thinking along the lines of something like SCP-939 but less animal more sentient. The Thing will be fun to see though!

There is a game, with up to 16 player sin amatch I think, with thats ort of mechanic called unfortunate spacemen and it's a free game on steam. It also has different modes than the generic asymm killer mode, but I don't think I tried the other modes. Instead of generators the spacemen have to get their ship going and call for help iirc, and the kilelr can jump, climb, and go through the ventilation system on their ship or space station in alien mode and copy the colors of a spaceman they kileld temporarily in spaceman form. I guess youc an sort of once you've seen it visually think of it as among us done like DBD. It's sort of got a lot of touches to it like from Alien even. You can use traps that are like some kind of egg as the killer too iirc. I played it briefly when it came out last summer and I was worn out from a different asymm, before hearing about the removal of infinites and the bamboozle effect and coming back to dbd with somebody from the assym I tried out spacemen after.

I know a lot of killers have left. Killer gets old after awhile. It is a constant dog fight. I myself am just trying to stop my 4k obsession and play a little more relaxed. I still enjoy playing killer, I like the challenge, and you get to experiment more with different powers. Something that is not available to survivors. But, there are a few of us old killers hanging in here.

yeah 4k is way too serious an expectation, iirc it used to be the way to gett he achievements actually (seen people complaining about ratings and getting achievements since I came back so I assume it's different now probably to make those easier ironically) so it wasn't intended to be a very common one thing once survivors figured the game out enough. I've seen a lot of people complaina bout the hatch, but it helps a player that lands on a ######### team not to mention int he horror movies it's common somebody makes it alive to be traumatized lol.

That's funny because survivor cue times are consistently horrendous during both battle passes and updates.

It doesn't just suddenly flip around cuz of updates and battle passes. A game should be good enough to be playable without a battle pass. The game never did have one so that's totally wrong.

Less killers is the only logical explanation. There's more people playing survivor then killers. The reasons for that are pretty obvious to.

He is right to a degree, I noticed that but generally it just made the difference of about 3 or 4 minutes in the worst cases for myself personally before crossplay. But the past few periods I played over the past months or two, it's just been too long for me to not forget I was even having the game on and come back dead when I finally remembered or see that pushing 15 even 20 minutes at least once (at least once I recall for 20 minutes, it commonly pushed or hit around 15 minutes) it was still in queue. I play at night which is probably, why since a few times I did see the faster queues in the morning during the week that others mentioned. But either way I deleted it monday night from my ps5 so I could finish god of war and try the 60 fps patch (finished it last night) before getting around to checking out the control ps5 port (good thing I didn't buy that during the sale a few weeks ago since I just got it on ps+ lmao). I got nioh complete collection remastered preloaded so dbd ain't going back on it for a while unless I decide to remove gow for lunar now that I finished that finally (hadn't played for a couple of years just before the baldur fight lol). I don't need bp on steam, so if I don't decide to grind dbd lunar on ps5 I'll have no reason to play still.

Definitely! I was playing against a 2 man Russian SWF team. The other guy and myself were playing solo.

The Russians both had Breakout and did no gens the whole game, just followed each other as they went down and taking hits, making them go down merely a few seconds later. I kill myself on hook, cause I didn't wanna play that game and spectate. The second solo survivor was being stealthy, but had done 2 gens by herself (I did 1 and the two other 0), one of the Russians died and was clearly telling his partner where the solo was, cause he kept leading the killer to them, killing himself and the poor random survivor at the same time. In endgame chat they said, "the random deserved to die for playing stealthy".

"The random deserved to die for not wasting time dancing around the killer and being one of the only two doing generators trying to escape" and they wonder why nobody wants to play with them lol.

These guys all depiped. So it is possible that they were all rank 1. They chose the map and they brutally lost without completing a single gen. If you're playing this game with a strong killer, killer is easy.

not everybody wants to no life dead by daylight of all games. I'd rather no life everquest again.

Since killers get to see the survivors in the lobby I don't see why they don't add an SWF icon on top of the heads of anyone in SWF. Might help the killer choose to tunnel those instead of the poor Solo Qs.

Whatever. I don't mind giving the killer more info. I also want to make life harder for SWF players so I rather they get outed in game.

Every time I see a strong reaction against it I can't help but make the logical assumption they at least sometimes play swf, I can't think of any other reason to have a big problem with it. Just look at it as a learning experience, don't worry about kills if you are new and learning how to play and leveling up the killers perks. This game has a steep learning curve at first, but you will get the hang of it quicker than you might expect.

Since Pig is from SAW I've always thought the idea of adding the ability for survivors to take a permanent debuff for the rest of the trial to remove Pig's trap immediately a fun idea. While removing the trap you could hit a specific button, your trap pops off, and then you're locked in a mini screen where you have to select one of four randomely chosen debuffs that are permanently on you for the rest of the trial.

    This could be stuff like:

    • Permanently exhausted
    • Broken
    • Slower gen repair
    • Slower heal speeds
    • No item usage

Stuff like that. SAW was always about making a sacrifice to get through his trials. This would not only align with the movies, but fix the RNG issue by allowing survivors to remove the trap at a penalty.

something like that would fit the theme and not be a bad idea, but it should also make them immune to future traps in the match since they "passed the test"

OMG and people complain that one side is screaming for nerfs, and all the forums are crying about SWF.

Look, not all SWF is that good. 4 optimal solo survivors will play just as efficiently as a 4 man swf. Probably better because they won't be overly altruistic.

Secondly, this is two fold. IF, you are facing a majority of SWFs, then that indicates the majority of the player base prefer to SWF, meaning it won't be nerfed. If you aren't playing a majority of SWF, then why cry about it.

Look, every red rank killer deals with SWFs daily. They are not all tournament level players, and often are quite predictable in their altruism.

If you are losing as killer, more than you are winning, well you are doing it wrong.

what red rank killers? enough have decided to stop playing at least for a while that even rank 15s are having their solos at least and sometimes event heir swf groups thrown at them almost as soon as they're below 16 and in the general pool.
