I thought I would come back for the halloween event after taking a break. What do i get? A hook camping GHostface. A Nemesis who slugs me and forces me to wait out the timer. A bully squad when I just wanna play some chill killer rounds. Constat hate messages from survivors. Well, I guess it is good to be back, huh? Can't say I missed this bs. DBD players really are the worst. Back to Overwatch, I guess?

I never get these things and when I do its rare. I guess some have very unlucky RNG and im sorry that it happens to you :/

The concept is amazing but he just doesn’t have a good kit. He is the so easy to dodge and break free from and is the pure essence of a M1 killer. He can’t vault hit like huntress or spam like trickster. His add-ons are basic and his expose add on has a hitch that they have to be twelve meters from him. The maps almost all have so much junk that he will get his chain broken.

Just feels like he isn’t useful compared to the other ranged killers.

(I was forced to do his daily so I just had four annoying matches as him)

I can promise you that he takes practice and that is all. He is not a top tier killer but he certainly is really good when you can predict survivor movements.

I play usually the side which has the bp bonuses. Probably killer/survivor 30/70 now. Before BBQ nerf I used to play probably both sides almost equally.

I think most players play just survivor and maybe little bit killer if the player ratio is anywhere close to 4:1.

Still 50/50 for me depending if I have challenges or not. I enjoy both, was curious how many others did also. But yea those BP bonus's help pick for you lmao

  • @GolbezGarlandGabrant said:

I play both but more survivor. I feel like it's easier to chill playing survivor than killer.

I wish I can agree...sometimes I stress playing both but im Solo Q half the time lmao. I still enjoy myself though.

I'm not in a bad mood. Dude literally bitched at me in end game chat for being sweaty when he wanted to farm which I never saw an indication for.

I solely posted this topic to vent and I just finished a good game.

Not you. I am talking about the other guy lol

  • @Crowman said:

I put on a gimmick build (botany, self-care, desperate measures, and bite the bullet), ran the killer around for a bit and pallet stun him once at shack and then he decides I'm being "sweaty" and slugs me out til I'm about to die and then hooks me while repeatedly hitting me on hook.

Not really sure how I slighted him, but god if only reporting these people did something.

I wouldn't take it so personally tbh. Person could of had a bad day also lol though I reccomend not playing DBD or any other online game when you are in a bad mood. Play how you want!

  • Omg this is the first time I heard this one before....

To my fellow Hellraiser fans, and fans of Pinhead and the Cenobites:

The new Hellraiser on HULU is worth the watch and I THOROUGHLY enjoyed it. I reccomend.

I know it is likely complicated and would be a bit of a reach, but it would be so cool if we got new cosmetics from this movie.

What do you all think? Did you like it? Will you watch it?

I am so for this <3

  • Survivors and killers can both be toxic....its sad to see, but it is sadly reality.

People sleep on it because its objectively not a good perk. Very valid reason.

I've escaped with it many times...

  • @BenOfMilam said:

There's functionally no benefit to running No Mither over Unbreakable in terms of picksies upsies, but No Mither is still a fairly strong stealth perk (if you don't get caught)

Yea people sleep on no mither. But you have to be VERY sneaky lol

  • @Renfear said:

Just had a match against a Pig. Surveillance, of course, at RPD. She was just running around downing people, almost never hooking. We got 4 gens done but I was downed so many times that I bled out, and I wasn't the only one. That... is a really ######### experience. And too many killers abuse slugging to the point where the matches aren't fun. Not that matches are ever fun anymore regardless, but still. Maybe this will help.

Well I got good news for you...

  • @darkcloudlink said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3185592#Comment_3185592

Well it’s just a Doctor specific interaction that would need tweaking, that’s all. No nerf needed. In fact, I think it needs a buff in general. Since it’s only once per gen, I think something like a 20% regression for failing/leaving and then blocking for 30 seconds would be justified.

I'm one of those people that is down for anything lol sadly you cant please everyone. But it is an online game and usually I just go along with what ever they do haha.

  • @Zen_but_not_Zen said:

It's crazy annoying but does make gen simulator more interesting. You're not alone, i miss it every time and any survivor near me usually starts nodding ha. Thankfully, very rarely come up against it.

I think they made it after people said they loved the yellow glyph challenge so much lol which I am guilty of.

  • @darkcloudlink said:

I don’t struggle with skill check builds on anyone, Doctor included. The only time I start to struggle a bit is if there’s 5 stacks of Huntress’ Lullaby with the backwards displaced skill check, but I never let it get that far because I always cleanse the totem. It’s really just Merciless Storm I think is a bit much on him and maybe needs a tweak to not be affected by madness.

That might be tough without gutting the perk. Depending on how it is all coded of course.

  • I love DBD...I dont understand why people would play a game they don't love lol

  • @darkcloudlink said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3185560#Comment_3185560

Oh totally, but DBD is a game where seconds matter. You may think the 20 seconds is nothing, but if you fail the QTE at all 7 gens, the killer just got 140 seconds of free gen blocking during that match. That’s not insignificant at all.

Now hear me out, I don’t think Merciless Storm is busted or anything. I just think it disproportionately benefits Doctor and only Doctor compared to any other killer. I was just curious to hear how people felt about it on just Doctor specifically. I think it’s way too hard to hit backwards, displaced Merciless Storm skill checks, but maybe you have no problem with it, I just wanna hear what you think about it!

As someone who enjoys doctor, I think skillcheck builds are his strongest! I dont see a problem with that because it is part of his power. Believe it or not though? I dont use that perk much shockingly lol it is good on him.

As the title says, it’s beyond baffling to me how this has not been nerfed. Every single 3 seconds or even less chains spawn like crazy, and they not only slow you down and mess up your inputs but also interrupt whatever you’re doing meaning it will stop your healing/fixing/unhooking/cleansing/blessing/etc. etc. and on top of all, when you go out of your way to solve the puzzle to get rid of it, guess what? the chains still interrupt you (with that one addon), and it will give Cenobite the ability to teleport to you, it’s a lose-lose situation.

This is even more painful when you realize DbD is the type of game that has a “casting time” meaning it will take some seconds to do most actions (mainly unhooking), which chains immediately interrupt, it destroys the flow of the game.

Any nerf to it is entirely welcomed with open arms, this is has to be the most bs and unfun ability to go against for survivors.

I think it is a fun mechanic! Yes I play both sides lol it can be easily stopped. My only complaint is that you should be able to solve the box easily once it starts.

  • @sluc16 said:

The amount of times the perk just doesn't do s***t is ridiculous. Half a secod is stupid, just a little bit of latency completely screws you up, no matter what perfect timing you have when activating it, just nothing will happen and you still get hit, dummest perk change ever.

I get a lot of value out of it, if you use it at a pallet. It's a very strong perk in the right hands.

  • @Thusly_Boned said:

In all honesty, if I had the hypothetical choice (in the killer mindset) I would choose to revert everything but DH rather than revert DH but nothing else.

DH needs to stay as it is now, it's perfect.

I actually love the M1 killer buffs, but I think something needs to be done about Nurse tbh. Maybe Blight? Eh....just his addons. I think Blight is fun :D

  • @Keirat said:

Have you ever seen dead by daylight devs reverted anything they made?

    They never reverted Freddy :/

  • It will go back to normal :) sure you wont win every single game, but that is just a normal match of DBD no?

  • @AvocadoPablo said:

Been through every meta, from sabbing every hook on the map so killer only has basement and was forced to run iron grasp (hooks used to not regen), to the last stale meta of dead hard and DS.

I am a high level player so I've always been able to hold my own, even with the current changes which are terrible by the way. But the casual player has absolutely been destroyed by this latest update.

I play with several casuals including my girlfriend and they very rarely escape now. Maybe once every 8-10 matches when SoloQ, and a little more often when playing with me. Killer has been made way too easy to play. 9 year olds on xboxes with no headphones and all yellow perks can easily 4k lobbies now with minimal effort. Surely this was not the intended effect of the patch? It shouldn't be this easy for killers, and it definitely shouldn't be this difficult for the casual survivor. This is a big blunder by this dev team, and I can guarantee will result in shrinking player numbers over time as more and more casual grow tired of getting wrecked in almost every match they play.

Again, played since day 1, seen every meta, and this is unspeakably bad. This is going to kill the game if not addressed. The casuals will not continue.

Me and my friend have been escaping almost every game, unless we are against a Nurse or blight. We personally love the fact that the game is harder on the survivor side now :) but that is just us.

  • @Buffy101 said:

Does anyone else feel really uncomfortable when the killer is being nice? Ive had some nice matches when they are friendly but I usually just keep to myself and try and just do generators. Ive seen matches where survivors are goofing around with the killer while Im doing Gens all by myself and once I have completed them all (Alone) the Killer hooks and kills them all! Luckily I manage to get out a few times either hatch or gates because everyone else is now in a frenzy because the killer is out for blood. It makes me so uncomfortable because I always feel its a jerk who loves to fake it and just kill everyone at the end. I dont mind loosing but that just seems so shady.

Sometimes when I play killer, I remember we are all playing a video game. If the survivors dont trust me? I get it lol

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Killer mains for the longest whined about second chance perks, but now have even more second chance perks to help them.

The killer meta was always slowdown and the devs in an attempt to "shake up the meta" have made slowdown even stronger lmfao. They only changed the meta for survivors.

Slowdown perks are for killers who wanna over commit brainlessly to one survivor and still win without having to worry about gen pressure. You get a second chance on all that lost time you spent chasing someone with slowdown perks that are now a staple of every game.

Thana, PR, deadlock, ruin etc. the list of slowdowns and slowdown stacking is ridiculous.

Endurance stacking was an issue, but there's nothing wrong with slowdown stacking? 164 second gen?

There needs to be a hard limit on how much you can slowdown a gen and an increase in the sacrifice timer while on hook, 60 seconds does not account for new killer action speeds and how much easier it is to catch survivors now. There needs to be a stronger punishment accessible to survivors to counter camping and tunneling. OTR and basekit BT just do not make a difference in a killer who wants to camp and tunnel.

"Just run overzealous and deja vu forehead"

Don't even get me started on how strong tunneling and camping is now.

We could just end the Us Vs. them thing and come together and help make a better game for both sides no?

  • And yes I know it used to lol

  • @OneGoodBoyDemo said:

BHVR look what you did !!!!!

Now that DH has been nerfed everyone is using lithe. How is it fair that survivors get a speed boost after vaulting, this way i will never be able to catch the survivors as lithe allows them to go from one loop to another.

You guys nerfed an OP perk that hid another OP perk and now this new OP perk is broken.

Lithe is not fair and should be deleted.

( If you took this post seriously you should be tunneled)

I am happy to see people using Lithe. I was gonna say lol

  • Sometimes I escape and sometimes I don't. Feels the same to me.

  • Way too soon to say. So far though, killer has been a way better experience.

  • @Marik1987 said:

Yes, Thana-Buff seems too much, but playing killer is much more fun now. You can feel that you are no punchingbag in some matches anymore. You have at least the Chance, even against really good Survivors.

But: lets see how the next weeks will go. Chill!

Now hopefully it stays that way lol im sure they will balance, certain killers now also which is fine. Looking at Nurse. lmao

  • @Godhandkm said:

When I don't tunnel, don't do camping, don't play the strongest killer, don't use meta perks (which i have) at the end of the game I get insulted for not getting 4k... Then they complain about the nurses... :/ i try have fun... (sorry for the bad English)

I lost to a SWF yesterday, and they had the audacity to tell me how I am a baby killer when I was purposely not hooking anyone to get my legion challenge done :') I don't understand survivors sometimes.

  • @TheycallmeLix said:

The meta change is really unnecessary, why did they do it like 6 years later and not something in the beginning of the years of DBD? Many of my friends are gonna uninstall/stop playing after the update, and it really makes me feel sad about them leaving the game when we used to play a lot! They completely nerfed all perks to garbage and they want us to get used to new perks.. like after using the same perks for 1-2 years, they are forcing us to new perks which we all don’t like. Many camping and tunneling after the update which is gonna be really annoying.

What are your thoughts about it?

I think that no one really knows what they want in this game. Everyone complains about the game being the same, and then when they finally change it? Rip.

Honorable mention to the person who came in and told me "you're exactly what a nurse player looks like"... Still trying to figure out what a nurse player looks like and what that means. But apparently I look like that

I feel like people dont understand that this game is PVP. Asymmetric PVP but still. I never jump into my games expecting to win every single one 😂

U can literally deny oni's whole power by not getting hit which means instadropping and holding W. Executioner is kinda the exception ig, but u kinda survivorship bias it at this point. Just because 1 killer cant be bullied doesnt mean my statement is false

I haven't been buillied as killer in a VERY long time. And it is me and one friend and we do not bully anyone :) stop listening to every single streamer that tells you what to think. Wanna note that I do not win every single game 🤣

  • @INoLuv said:

the killer is fun when easy to counter by holding w, being a m1 killer, vulnerable to crutch perks and braindead loops

I'm curious as a Plague main, what makes the difference for you on if that player is fun to go against or not?

There is a mean way to play her, by just slugging everyone on the floor and letting them bleed out. I don't particularly run into a lot of toxic plagues, but it does happen.

Cenobite is F tier against as a solo survivor. Legion is the worst unless you enjoy 30-minute mending simulator matches.

I should note that I play in a SWF.
