  • I agree, it´s a hell of a mixed bag. I´ve met some of the nicest players here, as well as the most douchey ones (mind you I played League of Legends up to Diamond Elo back in the day, so I had my share of online player toxicity).

What bothers me, especially with this forum, is that whatever topic is brought up, someone will throw a different topic into the mix as if to "defend their side". It seems they fail to view the game from a broader perspective, and everything discussed has to include x/y/z too as to not feed the whataboutism trolls.

Another problematic thing is the "shaming". Before DBD I haven´t encountered a gaming community where so many tools/abilities were frowned upon. So many people here are butthurt snowflakes about Moris/Ds/Iri Head/OoO( I´m guilty of this as well regardind Object)....the list goes on. I wish there were seperate game modes, one as we know now,and one in which no moris/items/UR addons were allowed and survivors could bring every perk just once, but I digress.

I love what they did with the recent tournaments, hexys and into the fog, and our content creators give me some hope for the community, especially Otz and Paulie. Not gonna drop names in a negative way, but I´m sure many of you remember Oc***o and the content creator that is facing a tournament level squad every single game he plays, then has a fanboy post a video here to "prove" the imbalance of DBD.

Those people provide a negative influence that we don´t need. It´s bad enough in many cases with entitled, whining, shaming wannabe Bullys.

Shoutout to everyone that has a passion for DBD and spreads positive vibes, it´s much appreciated!

  • It´s a neat perk especially on Bubba.

    • Platform : Steam

    • Description of the issue : I keep getting crash and disconnected while I am playing the game. I am using Feng Min and Nancy, in some new map and old map I keep getting crash, freeze, lag and disconnected. Before it update to new character and new map, i feel its fine and not got the crash or disconnected. But now I keep getting disconnected like always.

    • Steps to reproduce (if possible)

    • How often does this occur : like always, whenever i play one or two games, it crash and disconnected.

I attached the Dead By Daylight.log

please help me and fix it, it's really not comfortable and annoying, because I love this game so much.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/QSAPDDKW3VP4/deadbydaylight.log

Apparently reinstalling the latest driver for my NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1050 resolved the issue of crashing. Unfortunately, with the new update the graphic card is pushed to its limits and struggles with overheat (even in game lobby).

  • I have the same issue. Despite the game having better fps since the update, what you describe happens like every other game.

Most killer addon provide effects of perks like aura read and haemorrhage. You still want a 5th perk on top? I wish for one day they would revert the live build to how it used to be in 2016-2017 so maybe some of you scrub new killers could actually see how much killer has been buffed and survivor hammered to the ground

Yeah, it totally was not riddiculously unbalanced and a total ######### show back then. Git gud you new Killers!

  • Guess this thread is about to be closed, as people just seem unable not to talk shoot about tru3talento.

Can´t blame em too much though, as his....questionable statements and his supreme ability to make excuses make him such an easy target for riddicule.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

    • The aura reading of Kindred (not the killer reveal, but the survivor reveals) should be basekit.
    • Survivors should have a totem counter on their HUD, like the generator counter.
    • Teammates' loadouts should be shown to the survivors before the match begins

Not perfect but 3 suggestions that'd make solo-q life actually enjoyable.

    Then, naturally, we'd superbuff killers.

    Neat, I like those!

Except maybe the shown loadouts, bit too much imo. After all there´s the period before the start of the match with the oppurtunity to call out BT or the likes to the other Survivors.

  • Nerf NOED, Gens go too fast(which actually can be an issue but it is far more intertwined with maps, killer chosen etc. so it has to be looked at from a broader perspective), NERF DS, Nerf Spirit...it´s every day. It is so tiring and makes it harder to identify legit issues imo.

  • Jason Vorhees and a full F13 Chapter. The roster of icons isn´t complete without him imo.

Guess I will if I were to ever buy into conspiracy BS. Projecting much, aren´t you?

  • That´s a real insightful contribution to the topic, didn´t think anyone would be that thoughtful. Well done!

  • I´d really like to see a WWE skin for Trapper, preferably Undertaker or oldschool Kane.

Apart from that maybe a Myers skin from the 2018 sequel.

  • @Kilmeran said:

So, couple years ago, I purchased DbD due to Myers. Of all the slasher Icons I grew-up on, he was always my favorite. I put him down in early to mid 2019 due to burnout and moved on to other killers.

Anyway, been trying to pick him up again and having a lot of trouble getting any type of pressure or even a snowball effect (Purple rank survivors).

Any tips from current mains out there? Because at this point, I'm about to shove him into the toy box and just play Ghostface.

SInce you´re not a noob Killer, the best advice I can give you is to really be on point in the M1 game, abuse the small TR if the map allows it, and pop EW3 as early as possible. Even if u "waste" it and don´t get a down, every pallet in the first chase will be dropped super quickly. Windows don´t work as well on T3 Myers for obvious reasons, so there´s that.

I tried Otz´build and found it can work quite well, but changed it a lot. My go-to build for a standard Myers game (no tombstone, mori or mirrors) would be BBQ, Corrupt, Pop and Brutal Strength. Maybe change your perk setup to fit your style better or to lessen your weaknesses.

In the end, he´s not among the better Killers unfortunately. A 2k against a very good team can be a good game, even if the entity is displeased.

  • @Kilmeran said:

This isn't necessarily about stealth as then Pig would enter the mix.

But as far as general play at the green and purple ranks, who do you feel is the better stalker Killer, Myers or Ghostface. They both have their strengths and weaknesses.

I'm actually torn on this one, so looking for thoughts from y'all.

I´m also kinda torn on this one. Myers was one of the main reasons I got into DBD back then, huge Halloween fan.

I think Ghostface has more potential in advanced play, but I can win more consistently with Myers. Love both though, so I can´t really judge here ...

  • You should use insidious no matter what, as it can help prevent borrowed time saves. I´d add NOED as well as Agitation (easier basement game) and the 4th perk really is up to you. If they brought strong items, Franklins Demise might rob them of their item even if they brought a white ward.

Beware though as this....playstyle will harvest so much salt you won´t believe it. It also won´t make you better at playing Killer, so if you aren´t interested in fun, engaging matches I´d say go for it!

On the other hand, once or twice every couple of weeks I´m guilty of using this or similar builds to goof off a little.

The only information you get on a stealth killer like GF or Wraith from OoO is an indication that they are looking in your direction within a 72m Radius, assuming you're the obsession. It's like spine chill at that point. Making it work well requires strong map and tile knowledge, and knowing how to juke the killer.

The requirement for the Killer to be looking in the Object´s direction has been changed quite a while back. As of now, to activate the Survivor has to look in the Killer´s direction, so the Killer has no input on the perk whatsoever.

Yet if no one is getting chased and the perk icon keeps lit up in the same direction, it´s safe to assume the undetectable Killer is moving in the Object´s direction, so I agree it can double as a budget Spine chill against stealth Killers.

I agree though that newer/more casual survivors don´t pose much of a threat if they use OoO in this way. The main complaints against Object are more directed at the SWF abuse anyway.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1589066#Comment_1589066

It's situationally OP. If you're playing a stealth killer like Ghostface, they don't get an aura read but the killer gets a free read. At yellow ranks, it's not likely to be as detrimental but in purple ranks? You're asking to be taken out early.

Depends. I can´t speak for yellow or purple tbh, but decent survivors will even turn this downside around since the perk icon will still light up, giving away the general position of the Killer despite being "undetectable". The only stealth Killer that can get something out of it is indeed Ghostface, I agree, but on the Flipside there are Killers that get completely annihilated by this perk alone unless the survivors really, really suck.

Freddy, Trapper or Hag come to mind.

  • I´d argue the same applys for casual survivor players, just not to the extend casual Killers are affected.

There´s also this ongoing trend that requires Killers to play around every possible perk the Survivors can (and do) bring every trial, something that isn´t nearly as prevalent the opposite way, while having to micromanage every step, hook states and gens.

Don´t get me wrong, I appreciate Killer being the harder role. DBD is tough to get into, something I like to tell newer players I somehow get matched with to lessen their frustration, but newer/casual Killers need something to catch up.

  • @MrLimonka said:

Literally no one apart from sweaty SWFs run Object of Obsession. And the player running object there does not mind getting tunneled, because he is the best looper in the team and will waste a lot of your time.

In other posts there were actually quite a few people than came forward, announcing they were running this perk as a solo player.

It is strong as solo and the most op perk anybody could bring in a swf. Nothing a Killer could bring perkwise comes even remotely close.

You can´t argue that it isn´t op for the whole team to know where/who the Killer is and what the Killer is doing at all times, starting from the first second of the match.

There´s tons of quesitonable complaints on here, like DS (by itself) is overpowered or that NOED has no counter, but to me THIS is the one perk that HAS to be changed asap. I´ve even seen die hard survivor mains admit it´s broken.

  • Neat idea. They definately should consider adding this or a similar mechanic to clown.

  • I´d also appreciate if they had a more unique appearance. Just a slightly changed model without any new animations or sounds (looking at minotaur oni) is NOT enough to justify such a hefty price.

that's disappointing to hear. looks like dev thinks OoO is fine

Considering there has been quite a number of posts regarding Object and why it´s so incredibly broken I also find it strange that the DEVs won´t touch that topic. I´d just appreciate an answer from an official, whatever it would be.

If they realise what kind of potential Object has there´s no way they could be contend with the way it is. I know many people like to bash the Devs for their decision making. I usually don´t, but if their take on Object is that it doesn´t need changes I´m losing an enormous, gigantic chunk of trust into their balance department.

As of now, the only silver lining for Killers is that not every SWF runs OoO, I assume out of pitty.

  • Pretty much, yeah, unless I confuse the Marked Map with the Adress book again^^

  • If I had a bad streak or feel burned out from the game, I take breaks. Sometimes weeks/months. Really helped me hold on to my love for DBD.

  • I´d LOVE an archive Tome dedicated to him. His background offers so much to form interesting storys around.

Really hope he´s next. Or clown.

  • It´s a common occurence to already have lost the game if the first survivor chased is good and has strong tiles at his/her disposal, regardless what the killer does afterwards.

This is especially true for newer/casual Killers. Not only can they not reliably determine whether the tile setup allows for hits in a timely manner but neither can they be sure the next survivor they find is bad and in a bad spot.

In my experience, at a certain level it really comes down to which tiles spawn and if they allow to make meaningful decisions to outplay the other side. As of now, most pallets are still 100% safe and unmindgameble (some before or after they have been dropped).

It´s good advice to drop a bad chase, but as someone else said, it´s lose-lose.

  • BS man. Using a perk doesn´t translate to not having skill.

Would you argue that survivors using (insert x/y perk) in red ranks dont have skill either?

I wonder if the average player will eventually reach a skill level where they won´t complain about NOED anymore. It isn´t even a good perk imo.

  • Neat idea. I agree that it IS silly...sometimes the ordeal of kicking a gen is undone so fast the only way to tell they done it is the missing sparks.

  • It´s really hard to argue a point on this forum. There´s always people who add ither topics to the discussion, leading it astray.

  • From the Killers POV, it´s just infuriating. From the Survivors POV, it´s extremely funny^^

It might be because every second the Killer wastes translates to 3-4 seconds of gen time completed. It´s the clock.

  • I´d like an emote to point in opposite directions with each hand, signifying to split up.

  • I think a lot of the frustration comes from people that played mainly/exclusively Survivor for a long time. They are used to chases being easy to prolong and now that the game moves in a more balanced direction they feel robbed because it isn´t as easy as back then anymore.

With Spirit and to an extend Deathslinger you make a fair point to a degree because it gives a taste of how it feels like for a huge bunch of the Killer cast in chases. Usually the Killer has no reasonable chance to outplay the Survivor but has to wait for the Survivor to mess up.

Yet Spirit and Slinger definately don´t provide interesting chases for the Survivor on high levels. Their kit feels unfair and it sucks. I´d rather have the DEVs make Tiles more fair for both sides and nerf these Killers.

As a Killer "main" I WANT interesting and tense chases. This is nothing one can get from car loops, debree loops, long wall Jungle gym or Ormond tiles though.

  • Sometimes I do. Never against people that obviously have enough experience, but when I get matched with newer players. It´s so unfair sometimes.

  • Vice versa, wouldn´t it be hillarious having some Killers switch to survivor? Imagine Oni trying to hide in a locker for example, or Clown fast vaulting^^

"1.) And why was Ruin run in every game? Because games went too quickly at high levels. The reason WHY it was run didn't matter when Ruin was nerfed, so why should it matter here?"

I dont see that much difference since Ruin got nerfed when it comes to game length. Not in my Survivor games at least (I did not run it as Killer, since I dislike Hex-Perks, they stress me).

"3.) It is a bad thing. I, for one, do not enjoy being slugged on the ground for a minute when I am not even running DS. It is such a huge threat that the mere possibility will change the behavior of other players."

I mean, it is totally better to be back on the hook immediatly than to be slugged for a minute, totally...

In the end, whatever they will do with DS, Killers will have won and maybe be free to tunnel. Yay. Because that playstyle is already present, but it will just be even more prominent. And this thanks to people who decide to make stupid actions with active DS, so that players who use it normally get punished as well. Really looking forward to it.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1576381#Comment_1576381

""Most of them tunnel" is an experience I don´t quite share, so I kinda feel bad for you."

I mean, in quite a lot of games I dont get my DS to activate. A few of them are when the Killer is chasing me and slugs me or cannot catch me (and I dont run Unbreakable). But I once did not use DS for a whole evening and I got tunneled every game.

In the end, it is whatever, Devs are changing their mind here and there, they also said that you should not expect to have all 5 Gens left after two minutes, still they want to impement something. So yeah, dont worry, they will give DS the MoM-Treatment and Killers will go for the next Perk. :>

I get your frustration, I hate getting tunneled as well. It seems you´re so bitter about the topic.

There´s so much salt on this forum and too many people just rant because they don´t like x or y. I´m guilty of this as well in my campaign to change Object of Obsession, but we should try to stay reasonable and present our arguments in a manner the DEVs may accept.

There IS an issue with DS though as it is too easily exploitable. At least in my opinion. Can you acknowledge that there are things Survivor "mains" won with and won´t shut up about?

Ruin comes to mind. Prayer beads, forever freddy, Insta and crack Billy to give just a few examples.

As a Killer "main" I´d say these were good changes for the game. In case of DS and tunneling we need an incentive NOT to tunnel since as of now it´s often simply the best play.

  • I suggest going into a KYF match with someone and just practicing it. It´s hard to describe, but GF has to be in the centre of your screen (doesn´t matter which direction the Survivor model is facing) and at least 2/3rds of his body need to be visible if I´m not mistaken.

Once you got the hang on it, it´s really, really easy to reveal him. I haven´t encountered inconsistencies in quite a while.

I mained him for a while and if you struggle especially against him, run Spine Chill. It´s an underrated but super strong perk, will help you against most Killers and hard counters GF.

  • I fell for it too....so without mentioning how sexy Kate and Jane are, lemme tell you I´m thirsty for a release date too.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

"1.) DS is run in a majority of games. I am not saying that everyone runs it, I am merely observing that it is likely that at least two people will have it in every game."

Well, thx Killers playstyle. I would love to run a Perk which might not even be of use. But if there is no Obsession, the Killer will tunnel. And most of them do regardless. This is why DS is run.

"3.) If there is an obsession (say someone is running MoM for some reason, or the Killer is running STBFL) Killer's will respect DS even if they don't know it is in the game, that is a HUGE amount of passive pressure without even having to activate the perk."

You say that as if it is bad thing when Killers dont go right after the unhooked person...

IF the Devs decide to rework DS another time, it should be a true Anti-Tunnel Perk. It can have restrictions, but if the Killer decides to go for the Unhooked Person, they should get hit by DS, regardless what they do. No slugging or whatsoever.

DS is NO Anti-Tunnel Perk. If a Killer chases me for more than one minute, they still tunneled, but my DS is gone. If the Killer slugs me, they still tunneled.

And well, opening a Thread with a video from this person who does not even play Survivor (like, never) is not helpful.

Your statements regarding Killer playstyle comes off as low key shaming for playing efficiently. Against better Survivors the Killer simply can´t keep up if they decided to play the 12 hook game, 2 hooks each before someone gets sacrificed. This can only be done against potatoes or if the Killer is a godlike Nurse or Spirit.

"Most of them tunnel" is an experience I don´t quite share, so I kinda feel bad for you.

I don´t enjoy Spacecoconut because of his strong bias, but @Pulsar makes a fair point: The Devs reasoning concerning ruin is not applied to DS for some reason. I´m always red ranks and I can go for weeks and not have a match with less than 2 DS.

I get hit by it very rarely but simply by existing it forces the Killer to play intentionally worse. Kind of like the threat of Noed forces Survivors to not play optimally but to do bones. (Haven´t run Noed in well over a year outside of meme builds though, it´s so useless).

  • Oni is my guilty pleasure. He´s such a powerhouse and it feels great zooming around and clubbing everybody down mercilessly^^

  • Living the dream, I envy you!

  • I gotta give you credit for your creativity and effort, well done!

Still I hope FNAF won´t ever set foot into the entitys realm, sorry.

  • @FrostySeal said:

DS is a ANTI MOMENTUM perk, not a ANTI TUNNEL perk, and its not 60 seconds of invincibility.

Not on it´s own unless the gens are done, but if paired with unbreakable it leaves the Killer the choice between camping the slug and throwing the game or ignoring the survivor and throwing the game if the other Survivors decided to equip both of these perks as well.

I like both UB and DS as survivor but it is really obvious how strong the combo is with no downside, or isn´t it?

  • Disclaimer: Although frequently labeled and used as such, DS isn´t just an anti tunnel perk. I think it´s fine as is btw, with two exceptions: Paired with UB to form the uncounterable combo and in Endgame where getting unhooked within 150 yards of the gates means you escaped no matter what.

Gen speed can and can´t be fine at the same time imo. It depends on the Killer chosen, the tiles that spawned as well as the map, and the willingness of the survivors to hold m1.

  • I had a similar experience the other day. Ormond offering, Key, 2 flashlights and a medkit. How lucky I was having chosen Legion with only their own perks.... 3 get out t 1 gen. Of course they felt the need to talk shoot post game. It´s those groups that drive players to do all the stuff Survivors don´t want, namely playing efficiently and ignoring the rulebook.

100% the only real survivor perk that is actually an issue

Thank you for acknowledging this. You so often seem to argue in favor of the Survivor side even if it seems questionable, so getting that from you is a further indicator of how f*ed up Object is and raising my respect for you.

  • I also made several posts regarding Object, why it´s broken and how it could be changed. Unfortunately none of the DEVs responded. Maybe this thread will get a response from them, really hope so!
