Pretty much this. I’m fed up of playing the weaker killers and having survivors burn BS maps, having killers that are underpowered against unbalanced maps and a billion second chance perks. Just the other day I won a game on haddonfield but had a 4000 hour twitch streamer bragging how they could “loop me for days”, I mean I broke chase a few times but I was using an M1 killer and they just ran safe pallet to safe pallet to Myers house. Like what do you expect? So long as you’re on the opposite side of a loop, pallet or window the M1 killers cant get a hit. Its the design of the game.
Aside from dailies which are painful I mostly just play Pyramid/Spirit now, two killers that don’t feel cucked by all the second chance perks or ultra safe loops and pallets.
Yeah it´s so dumb boasting about having the upper hand in chase. Most Killers can´t do anything about a good looper, especially at the start of a match when all 30 pallets are still up. Even worse, it´s 2020 and so many tiles don´t offer any possibility of gameplay other than run around it 3 times or more, move to the next tile, repeat., and that´s not accounting for strong windows.
Saloon, Hawkins and sometimes Springwood have nice setups. It´s actually possible to have meaningful input as Killer there. I´m referring to M1 gameplay of course, since that is the core of chase mechanics for most Killers.
-
Since we already have a full Silent Hill DLC and a legendary skin, my guess is that this chapter is closed in the DEVs eyes. Apart from maybe a skin or two for sheryl and traffic cone head I don´t see them adding anything SH related. Bigger franchise licenses haven´t gotten anything more, either.
-
To me crossplay is a great feature. Qeue times are so great, with Killer always being under 30 seconds and survivor mostly under 2 minutes.

at least youre not on console laggin on ormond
Oh man.
It's gotten worse on pc too. Before the update I could comfortably play on max settings with really great fps. Now I have to play on low/medium and hope my graphic card doesn't melt.
-
Many of the things "entitled survivor mains" try to enforce on Killers are just good plays.
Unless you're a literal god or the survivors really don't know how to play slugging at the right time or eliminating someone before 3 or 4 gens pop is a requirement to win.
In essence there are still many people that don't want Killers to make the right calls so they can teabag them at the gates and tell the killers to kill themselves. They will also call everything the Killer does "camping and tunneling".
You don't have to play by their rules. They sure as hell don't care how you want them to play.
-
Gettint Ormond against good teams too frequently or having several mori matches in a row.
-
Too many Killers have either very, very few useful addons or addons that are basically mandatory to run (bags for trapper, power recovery for Ghostface for example).
I´d even be happy if it came with low trade values as long as I could get SOMETHING out of the many, many useless or bad addons.

All those ideas are fine but wanna make newbie killer experience miserable too? Becuz we know devs wont add so big changes to solo and killer at the same time and newbies will be facing coordinated newbies on a game not made for comms.
Valid concern. I think it would be a neccessary transition phase towards a better future for DBD though. For the time being new Killers would suffer harder than they do now but if those tools were provided to buff solo survivors the vast majority of Killers would recieve buffs to account for that. In the end, everyone wins but SWF teams. They don´t need any more improvements as is.

My take is that we should nerf Nurse, Spirit, Hag, and Freddy along with a buff to the killer side in general. Same result, way less work, and way more time for other needed improvements :)
As for the keys / moris discussion, I think moris are just in a different league than keys. I see Moris as the single most OP thing in the game, while keys are strong but borderline fine.
- Killers can prep for keys in the lobby (unless someone's switching them in at 0:06, but people almost never do that in my experience), but survivors can't prep for moris.
- Keys take up an item slot, meaning you have to forego items with much more utility for most of the match to bring one. Meanwhile, Moris are in the offering slot where most everything else has almost no tangible impact on the match.
- There are many counters to keys: Franklin's, Moris, tunneling and/or camping, pressuring gens so the hatch never spawns and slugging for the 4k, etc. There are no real counters to Moris other than so thoroughly outplaying the killer that they never get a second down (or get it late enough that it doesn't matter).
- Moris are much easier to use that keys, available counters aside. Moris you just need to down a survivor twice. You should be able to kill at least one survivor early in almost every match you play if you want to. If you're not tunneling you're just being generous. Keys require surviving and keeping your key until the hatch spawns and finding the hatch before the killer can find and down you.
- Moris are much more common in bloodwebs than keys, especially for killers like Huntress that don't have the normal amount of ultra rare add-ons.
- Keys aren't useful in the majority of matches. If you're the last survivor and find the hatch, if you're able to open the exit gate, or if you die early the key isn't really useful.
- Last but certainly not least, Moris drastically alter the course of the match while keys generally don't make a difference until the very end. Moris just about guarantee a 4k or 3k + hatch if the skill of the killer and survivors are comparable. If you're using a key usually the main thing it changes is the amount of kills the killer gets at the end; the game progresses as normal up until the point where a key is used, so both sides get to have their fun as normal.
For all of these reasons, keys don't really bother me while playing killer. I wouldn't be sad if they got nerfed or reworked, but I also don't think they really need to be. 3k + hatch and 4k feel about the same to me. As survivor, though, Moris are definitely a wet blanket.
Sorry for the novel lol
So at least in regards to the buffs to Killers, we seem to be on the same page regarding who needs them.
As for Keys/Moris: I understand your reasoning. I agree that Moris are a bit more impactful than Keys, too ( I think Killer tools should be more impactful than a single survivor "equivalent" tool), but at the same time an argument could be made that Moris are harder to use sometimes (unpopular opinion).
To be able to use a mori, you have to beat a survivor in a chase at least 3 times (not accounting for instadown Killers). In my opinion this is more challenging than completing a gen or two.
If you bring a key you are almost guaranteed to escape if you manage to remain undetected for long enough or you´re the last survivor alive.
In any case I stay with my statement that both feel unfair. Most Killers don´t have the ability to pressure the gens properly (kinda map dependant though) if the Survivors split up and don´t deliberately throw.
At the same time, if Marth were to return to DBD and go all out with his Nurse and adding an Ebony on top of that...would be way overkill.

Disagree with 2 somewhat and 4 extremely. It makes no sense to individually buff almost every killer even if you think the game balance is skewed towards survivors. If almost every killer were actually that weak killer as a whole should be buffed.
Darn, I really was genuinely convinced that no one would arue against these.
I disagree though that Killers should be buffed across the board. We have Nurse, Spirit, Hag and Freddy that would benefit too much from that, so I left them out.
Care to elaborate why you think Moris and Keys don´t feel unfair?
-
Awesome! Nice level of depth, too. Seeing how badly Myers aged in DBD I think we can agree he is due to some changes.
Those are great ideas. I´d throw one more on top of them : Reduce the stalk penalty when stalking from range a bit. It´s too harsh, imo.
I also want to point out how creative you were with the new addons. They fit well into his theme of having huge diversity.
Hope they read it and maybe take something from it!
-
This is true and has been discussed before, rather extensively.
The DEVs reasoning behind it being that since Survivors are basically just skins and play all the same way it doesn´t matter.
They are still working on implementing Killer MMR and changing the qeue for Killers back only to be set back to what it is now seems unneccessary work in their eyes.
It kinda sucks though that last second switching is unaccounted for. We just have to suck it up.
-
I sometimes give hatch. When I stomped a team a bit too harshly with Oni I do it quite often actually to make up for all the slugging a bit.
If a team has an obvious baby survivor they often get hatch too.
If a Survivor falls victim to a bug and I realise it, I give them another chance, often costing me games but who cares^^

Myers because he´s my favorite Slasher of all time for many reasons and offers lots of playstyles. He didn´t age well in DBD though.
Oni because roars and smashing everything is always fun.
Trapper because outwitting Survivors with such a weak Killer is satisfying af.
-
1) DBD has a LOT of optimisation to do, PC and Console
2) Moris and Keys feel unfair
3) Solo needs buffs
4) 17+/21 Killers need buffs
5) Style and Art Design of DBD are great
6) DBD has gotten WAY better in many ways over the years
7) Jane is Thicc
8) Git gud

i'd like to get more info on my team in the lobby.
their ranks, their builds, etc.
igame aswell, i think a basekit kindred (heavily nerfed ofc, so no killer reveal and maybe only reveal survivors doing actions (repairing, healing, etc) to others - just giving kindred as basekit would be too strong imo) would be cool.
a totem counter should be added to Small Game aswell. again, basekit this would be a little too good, but when they bring a perk for it its defenitely okay.
The addition of a totem counter tied to Small game is something I can get behind. Basekit counter would be too much.

WWE - Undertaker Trapper, Big Show Clown, Ray Mysterio Ghostface, Triple H Oni, The Iconics Kate and Zarina, but these are just from the top of my head^^

Give killers their matchmaking protections back and this problem will resolve itself.
I agree and I feel bad for newer/more casual Killers. Something has to be done to prevent smurfing and the likes as it will prevent newcomers from wanting to continue playing.

The issue with buffing solo is you can guarantee some SWF will keep lobby dodging until they're in with their mates.
Not so much if the buffs to solo consist mostly of informational gains, like Kindred basekit. Why would they do that if they´re on comms already?
-
Imagine pipping with camping. Sometimes I don´t even pip with 10+ hooks 4ks xD
-
@Zender said:
Nothing to solo queue, just make it so for each person in your SWF group you get to use one less perk per person. (2 = 3 perks, 3 = 2 perks, 4 = 1 perk). There are countless videos online where no perk 4 man SWF win like 80 matches in a row. Even if you think those guys are the bee's knees of DbD we can all agree that SWF gives you at least 4 perks for free.
I don´t think this is the way. Yes, SWF play with 10+ perks basically, but please bear in mind that it is paramound that Survivor gameplay is fun too. If you take Survivor tools away for the sake of nerfing them we might see a reappearance of lobby hopping to avoid the repercussions.
I think buffing solo is better than nerfing swf.
-
I play both but consider myself a Killer main. I´m also pushing for Kindred basekit. Solo can be pretty miserable at times, and I think solo Survivor deserves some love.
I´m against totem counter though. With the recent meta shift I expect a lot more Inner strength/ Stakeout/ Small Game anyway.
A good team of solos can come pretty close to the performance level of a premade, I think we need to tread carefully whilst buffing solo survivor.
-
I have it on. I love having instant Killer matches around the clock :)
-
I do have fun 9/10 games as Killer at rank one. The 1/10 is really miserable though, as the only Killer from my roster that isn't limited to m1 attacks is oni.
-
I think the only way to know for sure is to have Scooby and the gang tie him up and remove it. It would be so shocking if it were the lighthouse keeper!
-
It´s true. Oni gets his power easier, more often and his power is way stronger. Unlike Myers he can use his ability as often as he likes to, as Survivors can´t run out of blood, but out of Evil. Myers is due to get some serious buffs in, saddens me to see him way down in the meme tier.
Not to mention Myers has the worst early game out of any Killer - given the current pace of games, most games are decided within the first minute or maybe two.

Okay, I looked it up and heres what I found.
A couple of twelve year olds with undiagnosed mental issues went online and found stuff about slenderman.
They wanted to worship him and thought the best way to do that was to kill someone.
They lured their former friend out to a forest and stabbed her 19 times.
Luckily the girl survived and both the kids were arrested an sent to an asylum.
Thats all I could find, one attempted murder. Pretty sure that happened with Saw as well a while back.
Oh my. Thanks for taking the time!
-
Given the theme of the game there are loaded issues already- the whole Killer clown trope for example was kicked off by John Wayne Gacy, a notorious sexual predator and serial Killer. Or Ed Gein by whom (very, very loosely though) the TCM franchise was partly inspired.
I think I heard somewhere that Jeepers Creepers won´t be added to DBD for what the license holder is, too.
Can you elaborate on what went down with slenderfans?
-
If this is true, BHVR better send their best agents and make it happen yesterday!

what do you think? the ineficiency solo provides is the reason why good survivors join together with other good survivors. if u give taht weapon to solos by default they would be able to make better decisions without breaking the game since SWF already do it since 2016, and the fact that pretty much killers STOMPS solos without any issue most time (if they are kinda decent) but without breakign the game since is only when they are hooked not in the rest of the match like
" Guys Guys is doc and is with me on shack rush demn gens at the other side" or kinda stuff like that... i think would be nice tbh.
I´d LOVE kindred basekit. It would most definately be a good step forward in the right direction.
I disagree with your statement that Killers STOMP solos :D it really depends. A good squad of solos can be quite challenging!

-"Why is it that it is obvious from the forum titles which role the person primarily plays?"
This is the feedback forum. I'd assume that if you go out of your way to read/write forum posts, you're probably in the higher ranks, which is easy to achieve as soon as you put some X00 hours in.
Playing survivor on red ranks is easy, as long as you don't get people that disconnect ... which ... sadly happens a lot.
This is why there are some threads from survivors giving their feedback about this topic.
Same with NOED. Survivors hate NOED. Survivors hate Camping. Tunneling. Slugging. Moris. Threads like these sometimes pop up.
But even though you might agree with some of these points, the game's balance is still in your favor of the survivors, that's why there isn't much else to complain about from a survivor POV, resulting in not that many threads.
Killer on red ranks however is a stressful shitfest.
You're expected to lose on some maps, because they are just badly designed. (Too big. Ormond/Red Forest).
You're expected to lose with certain killers. "You played well but you went with Clown".
You're often matched up against truly unbalanced perks. (DS overall, DS + Unbreakable. MoM back in the days).
Keys.
SWF. (This is a big one).
Gen Speed.
You either play fair and most likely lose and get ######### on, or you play 'unfairly' and most likely win but still get ######### on in the post game chat.
I agree a bit with Scott Junds perspective that killers cry about too many things. There is a lot of stuff where they just blame survivors for their own lack of skill. But at the end of the day as killer main you'll STILL get the ######### stick from behavior and get picked on by the 4 people you are supposed to hunt, which leads to a lot of negative feedback from killer players.
-"Like you realize survivors run into bs way more than killers but killers run to the forums immediately after something happens once to them."
No they don't. Let's just take the toxicity as an example and assume that as much killers are toxic as survivors are.
Let's say 1 in 8 players are toxic and try to ruin your day after the game by insulting you.
As a survivor you'll run into 7 good killers and have 7 good games, until you encounter 1 toxic killer.
As killer however this means, that every second game you'll have someone contacting you insulting you telling you to k1ll yourself.
This is just a numbers game.
-"You guys need to get into survivor more"
I call myself a killer main but I play both sides.
I can listen to music while playing survivor and typically talk to my buddies (who aren't playing) over discord.
Playing killer however stresses me out sometimes.
I know the other side. It's boring and easy to me, aslong as noone DC's.
-"so you can see how toxic your side can be"
What would you call toxic killer behavior?
Because Camping, Slugging and Tunneling isn't toxic if we go by definition, since you are following your objective to kill your opponents.
I guess a t-bagging ghostface would be toxic, or a killer insulting you in the post game chat, yes.
But most killers don't have the tools to be toxic. If they had, they would use them, don't get me wrong. At the end of the day survivors are just as toxic as killers. Survivors just easily get away with it and are able to express it.
-"but when a killer gets annoyed their fun needs to be prioritized"
It's weird because this is usually the other side arround.
"I don't want to get camped, because this isn't fun for me!"
"I don't want to get tunneled, because I can't play the game that way!"
"It's not fun if the killer doesn't respect the 4%!"
"It's not fun going against (input any killer here) with (input any perks/addons here)."
You know why the 'survivors rulebook' became a funny meme, right?
I don't see killer asking for some guidelines that survivors have to 'respect their totems' and don't cleanse them for the first two minutes, or else we get angry.
We have to destroy 25+ palettes per game. We have to deal with totems spawning next to survivors or visable next to gens. We have to deal with giant maps.
But as soon as we manage to find the same guy twice it's tunneling, toxic, we get insulted and we aren't play fair anymore, because the survivor isn't enjoying his match anymore.
So I see a lot of posts, suggesting to nerf/buff perks so killers can't camp/tunnel/slug anymore.
You don't seem to recognize them.
Guess at the end of the day all we are allowed to do is play perkless trapper, M1 and be completely happy about it.
Meanwhile those guys turn arround, queue up with their SWF team with 4 meta perks but cry out loud as soon as the killer starts tunneling one of them to slow down the game, to have a chance.
But at the end of the day it's just about the survivors fun.
-" I recommend proofreading your posts better in the future to promote healthy discussions"
You didn't do it. Why should someone else do it?
You are calling killers stupid crybabies and are praising survivors who are so much tougher but you want a healthy discussion?
Unbelievable! How dare you take so much time to pick this post apart!
Very well done, thank you. I´m in the same boat btw, Killer "main" but play lots of Survivor too.
Posts like OPs just feed more to the endless cycle of whataboutism and adversity between "mains". Maybe he will realise a thing or two with more experience.
-
I´d like that. Either Rins father or even Renjiro might make nice additions, although the latter might share too many similarities with his son. Lore wise they both are grief/tragedy stricken enough to attract the entitys attention for sure.
-
It seems this kind of lower tier horror characters (this isn´t meant as an insult, but just compare say slender or springtrap with the likes of Myers or Freddy Krueger for example) has a rather dedicated fanbase. So yeah BHVR might add some of those.
I would kinda mind it though as I feel they would drag the quality of DBD down a little in terms of what is included, and what not.
I wouldn´t rant or cry on the forums though, just grind the achievements and never ever touch the character again.

It can be a nonissue and still have loads of delusional killers who think that it IS an issue and that every loss is due to the DBD boogeyman, SWF. The amount of times a red ranked killer has gotten stomped out by a group of SOLO queue survivors and instantly blamed SWF is hilarious. I don't get the mentality. You DO miss a lot of things when you can't communicate with other survivors but it's not that hard for good players to have some sort of coordination with each other.
I play SWF with my boyfriend and two players who have around 150 hours each in the game. We lose WAY more than my boyfriend and I would lose if we just duo queued with two randoms at our rank level.
But most killers think "SWF = dodge at all costs", despite the fact that a majority of SWF groups are just a bunch of trash players or good players being held back by their trash friends. SWF still farm each other, give each other false/bad info, make HORRIBLE plays, etc. Maybe not so much at red rank... but it's not like SWF changes would only apply to one rank. And if it did, there would be nothing stopping survivors from purposely depipping to avoid any red rank SWF repercussions that could be introduced.
Anyways, I don't think that BHVR will ever, or should ever, punish friends for playing with each other. I think the best they can do is figure out match making so that it's easier for higher skilled survivors to be matched with higher skilled killers- but at the same time, I still think what they have now isn't too bad. You can be rank 1 as a killer and get sweaty squads, but it's not like it's constant- you still get plenty of lobbies with potatoes who are easy to defeat. At least, that's my boyfriend's experience as a rank 1 killer, I guess I can't assume it's universal.
But it is an issue. Don´t get me wrong, I think SWF is a core feature that definately should stay. I also think that the innate ability to communicate and coordinate in a game that doesn´t account for that in regards to balance causes a tremendous balance shift in favor of the survivors. You don´t have to be a tournament team to call out where the Killer is going, if shack pallet was used, when it´s safe to safe or what´s going on in general.
If I were playing in low ranks or vs potatoes all the time I wouldn´t mind SWF. That´s not what people complain about mostly. It´s good players teaming up, gaining like what, 6+ info perks for free? So they all can use DS+UB+Exhaustion+Flex (but really flex is almost always SC/BT/ADR/SC) and still have more info than a solo player equipping 4 info perks.
As someone who plays solo only I sometimes envy SWF players for effectively having 10+ perks. Some don´t even know how good they have it. I agree with you though that 4 good solo players can be just as challenging as a rather mediocre SWF team.
You can´t say with a straight face that this is fair, neither for solo players and especially not Killers.
Highlighting who is in a premade in a lobby is propably the wrong way. Most matches have at least a 2 man anyway. It kinda evens out that the Survivors don´t know which Killer they´re facing beforehand. But something has to be done, as in red ranks, swf have too many unfair advantages.

"Almost completely mindless."
You do still have to remember how to use her power (in short bursts and only at loops or for mobility between chases), but other than that Stridor just takes away any guessing and tells you exactly what you need to know because you can just hear survivors breathing. No mindgames, no prediction, just phase to the right side of the pallet/window and slappity slap.
In my case it´s highly likely that it boils down to lack of practice and most notably lack of talent playing spirit. Seriously, I´d rank her as the hardest Killer to play, but that´s just me xD

Jason, chucky, and that´s about it as far as I´m concerned with licensed Killers.

Predictions for combos that would be nerfed/banned:
Ruin + Surveillance. (Too much tracking)
NOED + Blood Warden (Too good in endgame)
Enduring + Spirit Fury (Lets you ignore a pallet stun)
Unnerving Presence + overcharge (No more 3-gen doc)
It sure is funny but we can´t be sure whether that might actually come I´m afraid^^
-
Ormond, nothing comes even close to having 35+ safe pallets and no scratch marks.
As Surivor...dunnow, I don´t feel any map is particularly bad tbh.
-
Nurse in particular is considered that good because her power allows her to bypass the usual gameplay loop (pun intended).
In the higher skill bracket balance is in favor of survivors in the sense that M1 Killers can´t do much against a good looper.
I recommend you watch a tournament or two to if you want some examples of this.
@MadLordJack said:
Nurse has no counterplay, the fastest chase time, and decent mobility. Spirit is a close second, in all of the above however she is easier to play, and Stridor Spirit is almost completely mindless.
I also have no idea why people think you have to play strong killers to rank up. All the ones you listed get pips left and right regardless of how well you do.
Completely mindless is a bit harsh...I´m constantly rank 1-4 and I main Myers, Trapper, Clown and Oni. However if I try spirit I get rekt really hard even using stridor and a 110 Euro headset -.-
-
They will never implement an indication of SWF. Many people claim SWF is not a balance issue, or not a huge one, despite being convinced that if given the chance basically every Killer would dodge them. Can´t be much of an issue if everyone wants to avoid it, can it? /s
-
When DBD started out it was famous for being the most unbalanced game out there. It stuck with it for a very long time.
As of now I think the game has come a long way. It´s gotten so much better overall. Of course it still has issued, but even compared to 2018 (not to mention 2016/17) it´s almost two different games now, that´s how much it has improved imo.
On a scale 1-10 balance wise I´d give DBD a solid 7 now.

@ClickyClicky said:
I ain’t even that fussed about DS when I play killer. You can play around it. Exhaustion perks are the worst perks to go against imo
Sprint Burst and hold W in a chase and you just got 20+ seconds of gen time for free, no skill required and no counterplay. Of course you probably already got your route planned and you’re gonna be holding W to the strongest loop on the map which is going to waste so much time against an M1 killer.
Same for Dead Hard for distance. If you have an M1 killer chasing you and you know you’re going down at the window you tap E for distance and you make the window which are often quite strong and again you just gained a lot of free gen time for your team. No counterplay. Its funny Iike to play PyramidHead because he can actually deal with this with his ranged attack but then survivors start the tears about no counterplay.....yeah you didn’t have an issue when you did that to my Pig or Myers who had no counterplay to your DH for distance.
^ this. I´d like to add that if the M1 Killer were to chase the Sprint Bursto Survivor the team would gain 20(not sure if this number is correct though) x3 seconds of gen time ;-)
Had a similar discussion recently. The 5 second stun of DS gives the Survivor 20 meters of distance. Assuming the Killer is fast (115% or 4.6m/s) he would gain 0.6m/s. So to make up for the 20 meters granted by DS, the Killer now has to chase for 33.333 seconds to catch up again. This of course translates to 33.333x3 seconds of gen time for the other Survivors.
I love exhaustion perks though, they certainly deserve a place in the game. Maybe some of them could be tuned down a little.
-
Dude, you have that many issues you deem unfair? come on. I play solo exclusively and it´s fun most of the time still. Of course experiences differ but it is extraordinarily rare to get "facecamped" (doesnt exist anymore, when will people realise?).
My biggest issues with solo are really bad teammates at times and moris, but that´s about it.
-
Not on blight, but I get a J. Myers memorial every 4th or 5th Bloodweb on my P3 50 maxed Myers. Memorial flower is also bad, just not to that extend.
Guess you and I are just unlucky TBH, but I have a nagging suspicion that the distribution of certain addons has recieved a shadow nerf.
-
David and Yui maybe. Both have this competitive drive.

As much as I´d love that I can´t imagine that BHVR would engage in negotiations for her License when they already have a version of Ghostface in their game. I´m convinced in their book, the case of Scream is closed.

Just...no. Currently there is a plethora of ways (perks) the Survivors can use to negate Killer play, we don´t need more of those.
I agree though that solo should recieve some buffs to bring them closer to SWF. As someone who has never played as SWF before I know the ins and outs of frustration that comes with it, but getting tunneled off hook is more often than not the correct play for the Killer. This is why DS is so popular, as it forces Killers to play suboptimally.
Qeueing as Survivor you have to accept that this is a possibility, just like getting slugged or Moried.
Qeueing as Killer you have to accept the possibility that you will be forced to run around a car 12 times before the pallet is dropped, you could be sent to Ormond and hence be forced to kick 35+ safe pallets, that hooks will be prevented via flashlight, sabo or bodyblocking, that 4 Survivors use DS+UB and hence rendering you with basically no options, etc etc.

Evolve, whilst also being asymetrical PVP, has a totally different style focus. I would have loved to play evolve but back then I didn´t have the hardware required to do so (love monster horror also).
DBD has a unique ensemble of great characters. Most of the great (humanoid) horror icons are present, not to mention they also created awesome original characters with interesting abilities and backstories. The atmosphere, the setting, the lore, even the sound design and music, it all ties in to an intriguing package full of thrill and pleasure. There´s nothing like it.
