For 1300+ hours you should know the killer matters and I am really confused how "Jump through the window, run back in, jump through the other window, run back in, jump through first window, rinse and repeat for minutes" happened and you give zero explanation. As I said after the 3rd jump these windows should've be blocked which takes way less time than minutes. You either did something terribly wrong or the blocking was bugged which is a bug.
If you´re still confused I don´t know what to tell you.

Not related. The only people that want a reduced timer on DS are tunnelers and entitled killer mains. The nerf to POP won't even affect anything, it just means you have to POP the gen instead of downing someone else and even having time to hook someone else. Nobody needs 60 seconds to POP a gen. Tunneling and slugging is a huge problem and they would be silly reducing a timer on DS to make matters even worse. If anything, they should buff it so it doesn't count down while being chased or when slugged.
Yeah, but it's the others that are entitled and totally not you....
I agree tunneling( which is a very loose term) can feel ######### but slugging? Theres tons of stuff to combat that and in the higher skill brackets a much needed tool for the Killer to create pressure.
And if you think only tunnelers get hit with DS, think again.
-
I actually like the change, but I play both Killer and Survivor (still far more Killer though).
WGLF getting better seems only fair to me considering how superior the Killer equivalent of BBQ is.
Being another anti slug tool is great too as it will further lessen the complaints about slugging.

Yeah that makes sense, unfortunately that specific match someone fed him quite fast and we had only done about 2 gens at that point lol. Thank you!
You´re welcome:)

Honestly it shouldn't pop into permanent tier 3 so quickly - I had a match tonight that went similarly with the other 3 survivors giving meyers free stalk that upon looking at me as soon as I solo popped the first gen he went T3. So with basically 4 gens remaining - the meyers is running around stabbing people because 3 potatos including the obsession (because that was the stalk addon meyers was running) decided to teabag infront of meyers instead of abusing LOS to stop him from getting there. Bad teammates are going to throw games for you - just gotta live with it since its a 4 vs 1 game by design. It's like that single survivor who cleanses and gets reinfected 6x before he even gets broken within the first 2 minutes of the game... then wonders why we're getting infinite corrupt purges rained on us for the rest of the match.
Given your description it shows that it´s less of a balance issue but a clear case of "git gud" for those teammates. Rest assured, few players keep feeding Myers like that as they become better.
-
Unlucky. Adept sure is hard sometimes. I still have Nurse left...gotta love looking at the ground for half the game.
-
"Myers Main" here.
If he manages to get to EW3 before you have 3-4 gens popped, you´re likely screwed.
It´s largely dependant on how much Evil the Survivors feed him up until then. Oblivious teammates can really screw you over on this one.
If however the Survivors are aware (usually a Myers only stalking and not going for chases is a dead giveaway) and manage to break LOS as much as possible it becomes really hard for Myers to get to that stage.
-
I think your paranoia has gotten the better of you on this one. I run it on Clown too, i´m sure you know why yada yada.
The difference (I alternate between my standard Killers quite a bit during sessions) is very noticeable.

Happens to the best of us. I don't see how either of those examples disprove my case though. Like it or not it takes time to stalk and down someone, and having 15 extra seconds is incredibly useful. Is it necessary? No. Is it helpful? Yes.
As a regular GF player can confirm. I say let´s see how it plays out though, I don´t mind the Pop nerf too much. As with many others, the reasoning behind it and the obvious double standard is what irritates me.
-
I agree. In the end it´s up to them though. I´m disappointed, too. What I wrote still holds true I think.

Pop's duration is being reduced because we found you could spend too much time doing other things and still have it available.
I find the reasoning behind the nerf understandable. It´s not even THAT much of a nerf tbf, it´s still good.
The outrage is rooted in the fact that you guys do not apply the same logic to DS for whatever reason despite it being in a whole different league power wise. Why?

but when you dare to point out that his setup takes way too long and suggest him having his traps available from the very getgo (as literally every other trap based killer in this game already has), you are called a lunatic, because that would be "super overpowered"...
i would like to humbly disagree on that part where you said he was weak even with a setup. his traps a deadly af, the only problem is that the mechanics for how they work are extremely outdated - imagine traps not being RNG and instead having a set, relatively lengthy, escape time to them. that alone would make him infinitely better than what he currently is, give him all traps in hand at the beginning and nerf how certain survivor perks affect his power (as they did with Slippery Meat just now) and he could be quite a scary presence to encounter.
he doesnt need a whole lot, but he definitely needs something.
regarding his map reliability, there isnt a whole lot you can do about that tbh, thats just the way his power works - generally speaking, given you dont get an indoor map, he can be played at least decently on most maps though.
Thank you. Seems I failed to address my point clearly enough regarding his setup strength.
I´ve been a trapper main for quite some time, he was my go-to Killer if I really wanted to win at rank 1. Until I had a very nasty streak against Object teams, currently on a break from Trapper
I´m well aware that his power allows for incredible snowballs, those are some of my fondest DBD memories ever.
I appreciate your ideas and I agree - it´s not that much that had to be done to make him more viable.

Sure, if it’s a well coordinated SWF that’s on a competitive level, but for most, if not all of solo games that is not the case
Balancing perks based on coordinated SWF teams isn’t the right way to go.
You don´t have to be a tournament squad to sit on a gen. But I agree, it´s not much of an issue against afking survivors or people that explore the maps in awe of the great art design.
-
Remember that every second a Killer loses by getting DS´ed translates to 3 seconds of gen completion since 3 Survivors will be working on gens. In Scott´s pretty conservative example: 1 DS equals 120 seconds of gen time(400 are needed to finish them all).

So I'm not sure where all the toxicity comes from, because I have a few hundred hours in the game and have NEVER received a toxic message. Not one. I haven't broken past level 15 Killer, but I also tend to run NoEd because I'm a dumpster fire Killer that whiffs hits CONSTANTLY.
I guess what I'm getting at, is it more toxic the closer you are to red rank? Am I spared all that because I'm a Baby Killer?
In my experience it´s a little different. Most of the little shits that engage in such talk hover around green-purple-ish ranks as far as I can tell.
It´s a little more chill in reds in that regard, which is why I rush there every reset in the months I play.
-
I think Surge is underrated. It saves time you´d spend on kicking a gen. It pairs well with Surveillance.
I use it on Clown pretty much as a staple and occasionally on Myers and GF.
The additional regression to me is just a bonus. I use it primarily for information gain and time efficiency.
It´s kinda dumb though to slap a CD on it with such a weak base regression and radius limitation.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/193906/psa-crotus-prenn-asylum-still-has-an-infinite
I read few times what you said and there are few problems I have with it
First there is no such a map as crotus prenn - that is a realm name with 2 maps but I assume you mean the chapel map right ?
Information is critical to help you dealing with your situation and you did not provide much of it which kinda make your post sloppy which should not be the case when talking about loops. It is a serious problem sometimes but I have a feeling it is not really the case here for you.
So you mentioned the speed of the killer but the important part is what killer did you actually play. Because killer have powers. And we don't know if you did use them properly. Many killers have powers to deal with loops. For me you sounded like you pressed W and you asked why u never catched the survivor question mark ...
Also "No entity blocker too".Mind to explain that too ? Did they really not get blocked after the third loop ? If that is true you just experienced a bug obviously and this entire thread is pointless. Report a bug maybe ?
I know there loops can be good but I have to say this map is RNG as someone else mentioned. Sometimes you get absolutely nothing and to be fair I like it that way cause you have to pay attention what is up on the map and not just learn every single spot if they are not RNG. That would be pretty boring.
You are right. The map in question is the Disturbed Ward. I reckon for most readers the description should have been enough to identify the layout rather precisely, I apologise if the way I described it wasn't sufficient.
Does it actually matter which Killer it was though? Or should Killers like Myers, GF, Wraith, Bubba, Pig, Oni in basemode or Demo just not be able to gain on a running survivor?
Being in chase uninterrupted there for as long as it had been there even without Bloodlust I should have gained at least some distance on the survivor.
Mind you I have 1300+ hours and I'm fairly confident in my ability to run loops. There are no shortcuts there. Jump through the window, run back in, jump through the other window, run back in, jump through first window, rinse and repeat for minutes. The window in the shattered, roundish area is slightly alleviated but seems to not cause a stagger when vaulting as survivor. If it weren't for the fact there were only 2 Survivors left by the time I engaged in the chase I wouldnt even have considered giving chase there.
I hope this sheds a bit more light on the issue for you.
-
Licensed characters aside, Oni for Killer and David for Survivor
-
It completely depends on my mood tbh. If they slip just a little I´ll turn their ######### against them if I feel like doing so. Sometimes I either ignore it or do what @Kebek said.
It´s totally baffling though, I played League of Legends up to Diamond league many years ago but the "Kxs" BS was nowhere near as prevalent as it is among DBD players when they play survivor.
-
Slugging is not only good but in many situations the only thing the Killer can do. If a Survivor that got unhooked less than 60 seconds ago manages to get downed again the Killer has no choice but to slug or eat the DS, for example. If a survivor got downed with another Surivor in sight it´s the right call to leave them on the ground and chase another one to create more pressure.
I don´t get the complaints either. Don´t like getting slugged? Just use Unbreakable and/or Soulguard. With so many totem builds nowadays SG will provide nice value pretty often.

How do i adapt when michael only goes into his other tiers by stalking you just want me to never go into ew2 and ew3?
This dude despite being a douche about it actually offered nice advice for people that never played against SC before. The main complaint is that the alleged counterplay is goofy, dumb and way too punishing considering the survivor has to literally do nothing to profit immensely from the perk. This holds especially true for the stalking Killers since one of their main strengths, the element of suprise, can easily be negated by having it equipped.
In over 2 years I haven´t had a single Killer get the jump on me when I had it on.
Btw I managed to get my adept Myers at rank 4 back then. It´s a tough one, I recommend double stalk speed addons or J. Myers Memorial + Hairbow. Might take you quite a number of tries, maybe don´t do it in red ranks. You´ll get it eventually, SC or not.

lmao. They nerfed a harmless perk for no reason and removed a debuff from another pathetic perk that barely sees any use as is in exchange for a (guaranteed to be) negligible qol change. I'd hardly call those things buffs.
Furthermore, they made Pyramid Head even more of a laughing stock than what he already is.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1643171#Comment_1643171
They're meaningless because, first of all, hook suicides are counted as deaths. Second, both the Depip Squad experiment and the most recent tournament hosted by that famous streamer whose name I can't remember, completely contradict those laughable stats.
They contradict BHVRs overall stats because in the lower and medium skill brackets survivors get slaughtered left and right.
I´m sure mostly everyone with enough experience in DBD will agree that the balance shifts more in favor of the Survivors the higher the players skill becomes. This is why in competetive play you will hardly ever see an "M1 Killer". Those just don´t have the tools to combat strong loopers efficiently enough.
In my optionion the DEVs are caught between a rock and a hard place. If Survivors were nerfed too hard across the board it would get even worse for the majority of players. If they don´t, the dedicated killer playerbase will continue to suffer in the high ranks.
Maybe if they one day finally manage to implement a working MMR system we can chill on that topic a bit more. The sweat squads will get an adequate challenge by facing great Nurses and Spirits back to back while the rest of the playerbase can have their relatively balanced game.
-
They nerf him bc he´s f*ed up at loops. He gets a hit either way: You vault/drop the pallet? Unavoidable range hit inc. You don´t vault/drop? He cancels his power and you get the M1 after a 0.2 second delay for cancelling the Power.
Yes,the map pressure is garbage, but it´s like that for every Killer but a very select few.
The main complaint is that he doesn´t offer reasonable counterplay, and I agree. 70/30 Killer/Survivor player btw.

You obviously can't. Maybe hide better? Plenty of times my SC will light up and stay lit up and I look around like "######### where is this dude" and by the time I see Myers or GF peeking out from behind a tree they've already gotten plenty of stalk progress.
You can also stalk them while they run away, FYI. And if they are crouching around trying to avoid your LoS then that means they won't get much distance as you close in on them. Position yourself better.
Sorry that SC sometimes makes it so you can't completely fill your meter in one, uninterrupted stalk session, but that's why counter play exists.
Thank you for your condescending advice. I wish it included something I wasn´t already well aware of though.
-
I think the ToT buff might be a bit too much tbh. PGTW nerf doesn´t seem too bad, at least it will lessen the tiring complaints about it.
For the others I´m really looking forward to trying them out, can´t make a quick judgement before testing.
-
Seems some people here like to look over the fact that unless the Killer pushes a Survivor off a gen ruin does literally nothing. Don´t stack on gens and let the Killer chase multiple Survivors at once - bam, ruin does nothing and in most matches I´ve tried tinkerer (it´s most likely not find a way into my builds) 3 gens give the notification in a 10 second time span sinceI´m busy chasin the first Survivor.
-
Billy: Skitterish little brother with too much energy
-
Yes
Mostly due to the fact how lackluster DBD is regarding optimisation. Games with far better graphics take up less ressources.
Btw the way your post is worded seems a bit contradictory^^
Edit: There´s also an option to create polls, like this one :
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/193850/how-long-would-you-wait#latest
-
It´s a strong combo, especially on Killers with above average mobility. I strongly disagree with the brain dead aspect. This build only works if the Killer is already good at applying pressure and the Survivors don´t realise they have to actually look out for the Killer instead of browsing reddit while sitting on a gen :P
Regarding "do more bones": I think we will (in fact I already do) be observing a meta shift that will include anti totem perks more frequently.
Detectives Hunch, Small Game, Inner Strength. The better players are already adapting since good players using for example ruin+undying can be kinda hard to deal with otherwise.

Thhe diference between Dont play the game and being face camped is that your Gpu is at 75 degrees and other is in 50
If you find Survivor that stressful, let me give you a quote of our Head game director with a slight adjustment:
"Maybe try Killer. Or Civilisation 6, I heard it´s a great game".
No but seriously, qeueing as Survivor you have to accept the fact you might get "facecamped" (which doesn´t even exist anymore lol) or slugged. Like as Killer you have to accept getting looped or blinded. Come on man, grow a pair, these are core game elements,

I do.
I walk sideways. And it’s bloody annoying.
Not only is the "counter" annoying af but in many cases you will miss what´s actually going on for looking at the tree while approaching a gen. You won´t know if they noticed you and moved away. You won´t know if there were other survivors.
I still hope someone can give me an answer though on how to reliably stalk survivors as Myers and GF without looking at them, hence completely negating my advantage of being "Undetectable" and, by extension, my power.
-
Neither camping nor slugging are toxic. They are game mechanics that contribute to achieving the Killers goal (with varying degrees of effectiveness). In fact, slugging is borderline mandatory if the survivors dont suck.
So yeah you are the toxic one if u trashtalk someone for just playing the game.
-
Getting good with Oni is a journey. I´m at a point where a bad team will get utterly destroyed but facing really good survivors I still struggle to get them in certain tiles like LT Walls or long wall jungle gyms. As the others have said it´s all about practice, I have a feeling certain tiles aren´t even worth trying to dash in ;-)
-
@TheClownIsKing said:
I do think it needs some sort of adjustment or cooldown. Things like free vault speed for nothing during a chase is BS, and a killer shouldn’t have to 100% always move sideways never actually seeing where they’re going.
^this. Given the nature of the perk maybe a token system with a cooldown between the consumtion of tokens would be more fitting. Imagine something similar to how PWYF works token-wise.
-
I too have a weakspot for clown - he´s a staple in my roster so I´d love seeing some tweaks to buff him.
I hope they´ll have the updates for the MacMillan realm ready. I expect a Killer update too. But which one?
Could be either Trapper, Clown, Myers or Huntress. They are due for changes.
Oh and I really hope they nerf Object so hard that the MoM nerf would seem like a slight adjustment in comparison. Fingers crossed!
-
@TheClownIsKing said:
I actually find solo survivor quite chill, but that’s only because I usually use at least 1 aura reading perk (usually bond) so I can always have an idea of what’s going on. I still get frustrated sometimes, but it’s usually at other survivors rather than the killer.
For example: last night I was on a first hook on Wretched shop with Kindred. A Claudette started getting chased on almost the opposite side of the map. A Feng who was closest starting making her way over to me to unhook me. The Claudette was leading the chase with PH right back over to my hook. By the time Feng reaches me and unhooked me, Claudette and PH had reached close proximity. Of course PH broke chase and targeted me. I stopped running after 2 seconds and gave up. Let him downed me, and didn’t bother struggling on hook. I wasn’t mad at PH. I was furious with that troll Claudette.
Can relate. Nowadays I nearly always run Kindred, it really helps. It also kinda shines a light on teammates being little shits since everyone can see who is too lazy to make a safe.
-
Tonight I had a couple SWF that went for the achievement that requires all 4 to escape via hatch.

Yeah but the rest of the map is entirely rng. I've had no jungle gym spawns and the infinite is the only good thing. They need to remove the infinite and guarantee two jungle gyms.
I´d happily make that trade unless it´s double longwall into LT walls or something ;-)
-
Moonwalking can work against SC. I use it on Survivor but have never ever seen a killer actually do it^^
Btw I experience the same stuff. It´s strange how often you get SC against GF. I switched back over to Myers as he suffers less from the perk. Still no workaround for these two if you want to use your power.
Apart from these two the perk is fino imo, but man it´s so op against stalkers.
