Eh, P3 is hardly noticeable on hag. One of those is real, one of those is fake. You can't really combine it with anything other than this outfit either. It's impossible to not camp with hag if there are 2+ flashlights in the lobby, unless you want to be a 110 killer with no power. She is made for it, so if you like camping, hag is for you.

@Poweas You know I love me some Haggy. I know people don’t like her but I honestly wish she was played more often, it a novelty just to see her.

Random question but what is your main cosmetic set on Hag? I used to use the Mud Medusa set but I’ve grown to really like the blue cabbage Hag.

Why run anything except tryhard stealth hag?

    Tryhag.PNG

Blends almost as good as claud.

I hope more people don't play her because she is one of the lamest killers killers to go against, unless you are urban evading around or in a flashlight SWF. Who doesn't love a hag with 10 traps around the hook?

People: Rank is literally meaningless, any potato survivor can make it to rank 1

The same people: Bro you're rank 8, try playing against rank 1 survivors. And if you 3 or 4k against rank 1 survivors it's only because those were the boosted ones

But it is meaningless. It's constantly being reset, so it's never a true indicator of skill. How easy it is to pip varies wildly depending on what killer you are playing. There are massive skillgaps between different rank 1 survivors. Some just hide and do gens, and that's enough. Other can kinda loop, and rely on 4x second chance perks. Others are complete gods who are borderline untouchable at certain tiles unless you want to lose the game chasing them through it.

So coming in and saying genrush doesn't happen when on average even a rank 5-6 killer will hold W at me in chase, never mindgame, respect pallets hard, and is still relying on NOED for kills is kinda silly.

  • @Blueberry said:

You need to get higher rank to see them.

That's about right. Any decent genrush SWF will probably all be rank 1-2, considering how easy it is to pip as survivor. Do 1 save, do 1 gen, run the killer for 30~ seconds....ok you pipped as a red rank survivor.

Almost every game feels like a genrush to me at red ranks, where survivors spawn in and all 4 immediately start to work on gens, and won't move until they are finished. 1 gen for 1 hook at the start of the game is pretty much standard, even if the first chase goes extremely well.

If you claim to not have been genrushed in the past 20 games, then you are probably winning them all and are not at the rank you are supposed to be near.

Guess what, there's also perks and items for survivors that highlight the trapdoor and remove the RNG. And keys, that you can plunder with... Wow, guess what, I'm saying it again: favourable RNG. And another thing? The survivor could have just got to the hatch before you did because you were checking all the other spots it RANDOMLY SPAWNS IN. Or maybe you were in a Swamp map instead of springwood?

Why even mention Whispers? It's a perk. It won't be in every match because not every single killer devotes a slot for it in every single build. Just like not every survivor runs Left Behind. Why mention Springwood? Why create a favourable scenario at all, instead of looking at the situation at its most basic and common form?

I'm not saying it's not RNG. But you can take steps to mitigate it. Or, you can slug for the 4k if you like wasting an extra 4+ minutes every match. Personally, I don't care that much.

I mention springwood because it's a great example of a map where the hatch spawns in the same 3-4 spots almost every time. There's other maps with similar situations. I don't even think Swamp is all that bad for hatch spawns, but then again I have played the game a ton so I know where to check.

I mention whispers because it's the best tracking perk in the game for how I like to play. Guaranteeing kills after closing the hatch is just a bonus. It's also the best perk in the game for slugging for the 4k, but I don't waste my time doing that usually.

I don't think comparing left behind and whispers is fair. For them to be the same, all 4 survivors would have to be running it. And only 1 of them would (maybe) get any use out of it. Whispers helps you the entire game, left behind only at the complete end.

Keys? Well, mori's are so much more powerful than keys I don't mind survivors having them. SWF with a key is overpowered, but most of the SWFs I see prefer to use flashlights to bully the killer instead. Survivors can plunder keys, but killers get significantly more BP than survivors and can also buy a plethora of overpowered add-ons to bring in as well.

Why are you pretending that RNG isn't a factor? 'EGC certain death?' It's also a completely free escape if the doors arent touching each other, theres certainly no skill to the current exit strategy for either side. Killers patrol the gate, survivors part-then-fully open it. It's entirely RNG as to where the trap door spawns, so it's entirely random as to who sees it first, it's entirely RNG as to where the doors spawn, so it's entirely random as to whether or not the killer will be able to interrupt the survivor by patrolling.

It is amazing the number of people that think they are skillful or that they earned something that was essentially a roll of the dice.

Killers have a way to guarantee nobody ever escapes out the doors, and it's called whispers. You can run it if you want. It also makes you finding them before they find the hatch significantly less likely in the first place. There's only a set number of hatch spawn locations on each map, with some of them being super predictable. I think I could check most spingwood hatch spawn within a minute tops.

I only agree with the DC being bs there, the rest, again is irrelevant because the hatch is the only solution to the issue that they currently have which is solo survivors being screwed over by their teammates and it prevents them holding the game hostage. If you can give me a better solution, that's fair to both sides, I'll agree with you. And tell me, what would you switch it for?

I would never play solo Q survivor if the hatch did not exist. I'd only play in SWF or as the killer. Solo Q is already super painful sometimes, and having no hope of escape when somebody suicides on first hook after going down in 10 seconds, DCs, or manages to get themselves killed at 4-5 gens left, would kill my enthusiasm for the game.

Bad solo Q teams are a thing in every game, but in most games you are on even grounds with the enemy team, so at least you can do something about it most of the time. Here it would be "well your team is bad, you just get hopelessly massacred", which is already going to happen for at least 2/3 of the people remaining.

  • I think it's fine as it is.

It's great for making sure you get at least get 2 hooks a game, because in solo Q if you are one of the stronger players chances are you are more likely to make it to lategame without being hooked. And lategame is where you are most liable to die on your first hook, when the team can get 2-3 man slugged and someone is already dead.

Nothing is worse than scraping to endgame, getting 1 shot with NOED and then dying on your first hook while everyone else ditches you. That's where deliverance really shines.

  • Monitor + infectious to start a 3-4 man chain slug chain easier.

  • Corrupt intervention so they might be herded closer together when it pops off.

Whispers so you will always be nearby someone when it pops off.

Make your choice so you can start a chain of 1 shots off 1 hook.

NOED so if you only get 1 hook off it and lose the game because it's half your build, you still get a free kill at the end.

Anything else meta for a plan B.

  • Play Ace with iron will. Push E to outplay. Hide with Spine Chill.

Fair play, really just depends on the survivors and what they do. What they did was high risk low reward from a team stand point. Their time would have been better spent breaking totems in case of noed and doing gens

Not really, considering if you care about your rank, you are forced to go for those saves. You can do all the gens, escape, and depip if people were dying on their first hooks and you never even saw the killer. From a pipping and points perspective it's way more worth your time to go bomb the hook with BT.

What bothers me is that you managed to hook a survivor in the basement, they made the mistake of dive bombing the hook, and somehow according to you is a problem with the game? All you did was point out how stupid it was for them to dive bomb tge basement. If they saw you camping the upstairs of the basement they should have worked on gens. They could have had 3 done by the time she died (assuming she struggeled). And your emblems would have tanked. Its a 4v1 game, not a 1v1. Yes, its "unfun" for the person on the hook, but its also unfun for the killer if no one shows up to bomb the hook.

When did I say anything is a problem with the game? I was just proving to that guy that you can pip in purple ranks with 4 hooks. Because for some reason, he didn't think it could be done. "THE MATH SAYS ITS IMPOSSIBLE"

So, by the fact that you can pip in purple with 4 hooks, it's not hard to reach red ranks. You could also just spam legion and pip or safety almost every game no matter what, even if you only kill like 1 person.

  • Survivor.PNG

Prolly my favorite for solo Q:

Spine chill for the best information in the game

Iron will for the best stealth perk in the game

Lithe for some power during chases

Left behind + key for plan B, when the team is getting murdered or you get someone ragesuiciding at 5 gens left

  • I think it would be overpowered if he could just walk over his own traps and carry them all at once. Hag is basically that, and she is the trapper on steroids.

Trapper is definitely easy to play, in that your map knowledge is more important than your mechanical skill. A good trap lets you just walk over to a survivor and push spacebar for a hook. It doesn't matter how good at looping they are at that point. I almost never step on my own traps, and when I do I usually think "damn, that's a good trap".

Although once you get into the highest ranks, it is hard to set unpredictable traps unless you have the tar bottle. The tar bottle lets you set them basically anywhere, allowing for very high skill expression since you can trap loops without grass.

    Isn't it past your bedtime?

As far as the topic, it really bothers me when killers abuse hooked survivors. They don't get any points for it, so why do it? Is it because they're bad(mad) at the game and want to take it out on hooked survivors? It makes no sense to me. I wish that they could be penalized for that, but they won't.

Pftt, man it's a video game. That's like asking why survivors will teabag me at 5 gens left. You do it for the disrespect.

  • I do it if people teabag me. The only killer ill do it without reason on is clown, because I want to hear the clown laugh.

  • @LordGlint said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1282294#Comment_1282294

no, because survivors will call ANYTHING camping and you claimed to camp 4 hooks and still somehow have a chaser emblem.

Because they were poking at the basement and I was hitting them and then going back to it, as well as getting tons of hits with save the best when they rushed the basement as a group. And as I said, I was not getting penalized for camping hooks even though I was walking around the top of the basement for the majority of the game. It might not count the penalty through walls.

  • @LordGlint said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1282273#Comment_1282273

for your next screenshot where your claiming on camping the hooks, show your chaser emblem.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/847/20190713042847_1.jpg

    example here...

The survivor tears in the endgame chat are not enough evidence? "Worst camping i've ever seen" "Next time try using skill" etc etc.

  • Nope2.PNG Nope1.PNG

This was literally 5 hooks, and I didn't even 4k (because of a kobe into an unbreakable into key hatch escape).

I tried to keep it at 4 but someone bum-rushed the basement with BT. I was standing at the top of the staircase all game and got no penalty at all to my emblems. "The worst camping i've ever seen" according to one survivor.

So 5 hook 3k pipped me, and you are gonna tell me 4 hook 4k won't? What's the ~math~ on that?

  • @LordGlint said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1282123#Comment_1282123

No, you really cant. Your chaser emblem would be completely gone if you camped that much and youd only get at most a gold for devout. Your malicious would probably suffer, but for the sake of making a point...even if you get iri malicious and gatekeeper at that point, you still wouldnt pip. This would grant you 11 points total which isnt enough to rank you up in purple ranks.

Well that's funny, because I have literally done it twice today.

  • Well that's probably why. You need to play pretty much perfect as deathslinger within high ranks. All the loop stopping shots are quick-scopes for the most part. A few missed shots can be all it takes to lose, and at 110 there is no plan B if you are missing.

  • @Rivyn said:

False. Even if you get a 4k with NOED at the end, they won't reach red ranks, since they were unable to do anything else during the match. Even consecutive 'wins' with NOED won't matter. You need solid chases, a lot of gen/pallet busting, and multiple hooks.

That isn't to say killers don't get lax in red ranks and devolve into NOED users. With the rank reset as it is now, they could have struggled hard to get to red ranks, then just gave up. Which is why I don't like the current rank reset system.

Also false. You need to do all those things to climb in red ranks, reaching it is another story.

You can pip in purple ranks by camping the basement and getting 4 kills with 4 hooks.

  • Doesn't help that the survivors are so overpowered in that game that the only viable option is to play turret spencer. Let's nerf that but not the completely invincible tank survivors who can literally stand there getting melee'd by the bio-weapons and not care, permanent stunlocks, or the jill rocket launcher on like a 2 minute cooldown that clears out 8+ zombies at a time or basically 1 shots the bio-cores. Actually, let's just give the mastermind a rocket launcher now too.

  • I usually think something along the lines of "Hmmm, should I use a mori next game?"

    The entity:

    Lulmori.png

Then I think, "Nah, probably too toxic"

    @riotangel

If the SWF team doesn’t know how to play the game comms mean nothing.

Comms in very little situations become strong, but again if the player doesn’t know what to do with that information it doesn’t matter if they are SWF or not.

You gotta be nuts. Having 4 people on voice comms is like giving every survivor another 4+ perk slots. You get bond, empathy, after-care, kindred, etc all for free. If an object user is involved, which alot of the top teams have (if they just all don't have it).

"Hey, the killer is X, he's at Y location"

"He's chasing me guys, go work on gens"

"He left me, 1 person come save"

In very few situations is that information useful.....

  • @riotangel said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1281381#Comment_1281381

Since the hatch is kind of like a "last survivor" feature, I also question whether a key should let multiple people though, especially more effective with a SWF group. A better balance could be to reduce the key into a "ticket", per-person entry. If everybody wants out through that avenue, they must have their own keys.

That just means keys would screw over solo Q players, who already leave their teams behind with keys sometimes. SWF with a map and a key is probably the easiest thing in DBD, but most people prefer flashlights since SWF is so OP to begin with that screwing around with the killer all match is way more fun.

Gens can get done in 3-4 minutes. Cut that requirement in half with a key. But survivors will still cry about camping and tunneling when they can bring 4x second chances into a 4-5 minute game. Is nerfing mori's the answer to that? I don't think so.

  • Well, at high ranks I see keys regularly. Maybe in 1/4 to 1/3 of the matches. So if the survivors get 3 gens done I will lose the game. That's 80 seconds with the team alive, with 1 survivor urban evading in a corner of the map.

Assuming you spawn into the match, find someone in 20 seconds, down them in 30, that's already half the match over when a key is involved. I have games where 2 gens pop before corrupt is even expired.

So I think mori's are fine as they are right now.

Reward does not mean that it is gonna be reworked.

I highly doubt that it is something big what players, who prestiged their characters, will get. I guess the Main Reason to prestige will still be the Cosmetics.

All the cosmetics are not created equal though. Hag, you can hardly tell the difference between her P3 and some of the red skins, especially the hair (for P3!). I think the majority of older killers have better cosmetics now for shards or cells than the P3 clothes. I think the only one I use regularly is ghostface's P3 mask, beyond bloody weapons.

I started plsying without pop on stronger killers because i dont want to be reliant on it when it gets nerfed :/

Ive found thrilling tremors to be a pretty dope replacement

Really? I see thrilling as more of a support perk than anything. It pinpoints which gen to go kick with pop after you hooked someone, with more accuracy than BBQ.

The strongest killers I usually am loaded up on tracking perks instead of slowdown perks. Whispers is just so good for instant pressure within the first 20~ seconds of the game starting. I know it's not needed, but it's nice to not spend more than a few seconds searching empty areas of the map. Especially when it's not uncommon to lose a gen within the first minute of the game starting (which I time with corrupt), you need to be in a chase right off the bat. Here's probably my favorite 'strong' killer build:

    Spireh.PNG

The next best slowdown to pop is probably sloppy butcher. New ruin is OK on high mobility killers as well, but suffers from the same problem as old ruin (dying in the first 30 seconds of the game).

  • I don't even think it should have a cooldown at all. Safe pallets get kicked instantly. The most use I usually get out of it is throwing down the shack pallet at the start of the match in front of my team and then resetting it.

  • I like it, just because you are always doing something. You are constantly making decisions about where to go next, what to do, or are inside a chase.

Survivor usually has too much downtime for me to want to play it for a long time.

Will this may be changed someday? It is a really cool cosmetic but i wanna make sure this will be patched. This would be awesome!

Wow, I actually didn't even notice how drastic the difference between medium and low with it is because I only play on low to make tracking easier.

I'm all for evil masks though, so i'm still using it regardless. Getting chased by bane instead of a schoolgirl seems alot more appropriate for the overall theme of the game. Enough to actually make me play some spirit again.

I went up and down in pips all night, and stayed at rank 5, whilst I saw rank 3,2,1 survivors.

I jumped on, did a couple tombstone games cause it's rank reset. Then I get this object SWF I had eboni'd as ghostface ~2 days ago.

It doesn't really matter, you get matched with the same survivors at rank 6 or at rank 1. The reward for hitting rank 1 is salty survivors going...

"Wow, rank 1 and you have to camp"

"Wow, rank 1 and you have to tunnel"

'Wow, rank 1 and you have to slug"

You're not breaking anything to me. That was a pretty big jump getting to that conclusion, which makes the insults and sarcasm even more unnecessary.

Where did I say that I thought killers had to be morally justified in anything they did? As I recall, what I actually said was that tunnelling when you have no other option is slightly less morally justified than choosing to tunnel. I did not say that killers shouldn't tunnel, nor, for the record, that tunnelling was morally unjustified.

I actually don't think anyone should be expected to do anything that isn't in their best strategic interests for the sake of the other players' enjoyment (although it is certainly nice when they choose to do so regardless), and I would never put someone down for employing a strategy like tunnelling, regardless of circumstances.

Next time, maybe take a second before you jump down any throats and make sure you're responding to what the person actually said, not what you mistakenly read into it.

Implying something is morally justified is also implying that the killer is doing something wrong, aka morally unjustified. It doesn't matter how you try to disguise the implications.

This is true, but it’s not really how new people play. They see a character they like and level them. Or they try out some perks, enjoy Technician or Urban Evasion or whatever and unlock them ASAP. New players don’t know or care about the meta, they’re just excited and want to unlock stuff, especially stuff that helps them as a newbie which may not be something they stick with in the long run. This is half the enjoyment of being new and the insane grind chokes the fun out of it.

Then that is their fault for not doing their research. I have seen survivors at red ranks with less than 100 hours played running the full meta combo and keys. It takes maybe 30-40 minutes to check on youtube how to level optimally. Another 1-2 hours on youtube to get the basic game theory down.

  • @Fibijean said:

I'd call it tunnelling in either case - one scenario is just slightly less morally justifiable than the other.

I hate to break it to you, but tunneling a good survivor will usually lose you the game depending on what map and killer you are playing. Especially if they have crutch strike.

The ~killer~ needs to be "morally justified" to kill the survivor, what a joke.

Just 12 hook the survivors when gens can get done in 4 minutes and every survivor has 3-4x second chance perks.

If you play billy, spirit, nurse, or oni you are trash though. Git gud.

  • I do find it odd that after leveling deathslinger to P3, before prestiging, in my inventory I would have like 3-4 ivory mori's and probably like 25+ ebony mori's. It also feels that way while just buying bloodwebs on other killers. Significantly more ebony than ivory.

But I would not say they are more common than green add-ons. You probably just notice them more.

Though, as someone who loves using mori's, I can't say I am complaining.

If youre the last Survivor, the Killer is just going to stand there & hit you the second you get off the hook. He has nowhere else to be at this point in the match, and you have no way to actually avoid dying, so what's the point?

Not always. When im the killer I usually wander off and look for the hatch in the meantime. Or go kick a pallet or gen for more points. I've had a few games where I was making borderline suicidal plays because I had deliverance up, and then my team all leave out the exit gate before I get hooked and I never get to use it.

But if it was exclusive to deliverance, it would be too telegraphed.

  • 2/4 survivors will have crutch strike at high ranks. Sometimes it will be 4/4 survivors with crutch strike. There is no need to justify yourself.

  • I call survivor perks crutch strike, crutch hard, borrowed crutch, crutchenaline, and uncrutchable

Because you should be able to make as many mistakes as possible and get rewarded for it

  • Perma tier 3 can almost just be NOED, depending on the survivors you get. If you run both at the same time? People will just get into a locker and that's that.

They used to be alot more powerful when ruin did something for low mobility killers.

  • Because with BT/DS, you can get unhooked, go finish a gen in front of the killers face, tank a hit while injured, and then hop into a locker and there's nothing they can do about it except lose the game standing there or give you a free escape.
