That still doesn't answer anything I asked. Because even if there is an imbalance somewhere, I've never seen it nor experienced it to the degree that people claim it to be.

Then you don't play the game enough to realize it's flaws. There's some extremely imbalanced characters, perks, add-ons, offerings, and items.

However, survivors will typically complain about anything if they lose. You can win with perkless, addon-less wraith and still have survivors telling you to off yourself. It is rare to get a GG for performing well as a killer, at least in my experience.

You can put 3 people in the basement at the same time, proxy camp it, and still get salt for camping that even though it is the optimal play. Survivors typically complain about not being enough chances enough though they can equip them as perks. But at the same time, there are incredibly cheap killer characters and add-ons that will down you as a survivor for doing almost nothing skillfull.

Retribution and haunted is a meme..sacrifice half your build for 2 downs on a good proc? No..and ruin only hurts bad teams..period..its value ismt enough even with killers like freddy..just hop on the gen again if hes not after you..or the totem will explode instantly

You can win the entire game as a killer off a single down, or two downs, playing scummy enough. Basement trapper would like to have a word with you.

I'm not bragging I'm getting kills. I'm saying Legion brings out survivors stupidity more than other killers and I'm having fun because of it. By all rights, I should not be winning all the games I have been. Survivors tend to do really stupid things when they go against Legion and it's pretty funny to watch.

Bodyblocking with Legion is very similar to Wraith Bodyblocking. Unless you're caught out in the open you can sometimes get to a window or the other side of the pallet as a survivor. If it's an unsafe pallet then you're dead anyway no matter what had happened. If you drop the pallet and he vaults over and cancels then just run around to the other side, you get plenty of time with the stun. You know what most people do though? They try to revault the pallet and just stand in your face or they just run in circles before going down. Hilarious to watch but definitely not the play.

Again, he does get easy early hits and then what? It's like going against Plague, don't overly heal and do gens and he's going to get destroyed because he is very loopable. Not only that but as long as the team stays apart like they should anyway, he'll never get more than one hit with his power in the first place. Heck even if you're in range, just running in a straight line away from him can get him to use all of his frenzy without getting a hit off. You know what most people tend to do though? They group up allowing easy chain hits, try to hide in bushes or lockers, and mend in your face or out in the open letting you get easy downs. All very bad ideas.

Spirit Fury/Enduring being borderline impossible to counter in what world? It's good for one surprise attack and then after you just drop pallets slightly earlier. The Perk combo is now dead to rights.

We seem to have very different opinions here on Legion. I think he's weak but fun while you think he's strong and braindead. I'm willing to debate more on this but it might be better for us to just agree to disagree as I don't think were going to find any common ground in each others opinions.

You can use the spirit fury enduring combo on every single survivor. Only those who see you have enduring, and then expect the possibility of spirit fury can "counter" it by dropping pallets early. But alot of people, including myself, run brutal along with that as well, so early pallet drops mean little as well.

You also discount the capability of the killer to snowball off a single hook by proxy camping. One shot killers are especially good at it, since if you catch anyone going for the save, pre 3+ gens done, you can slug them and camp out the kill for an easy win. A slug and a hook is plenty to hard/ face camp and still win the game unhindered. Borrowed time / DS won't even come into play with a one shot killer using that playstyle.

You also don't recognize how spirit fury can be built on one survivor and then used on another, offering absolutely no counterplay as they drop a pallet on you and then get murdered.

If it's 2 survivors left the hatch will still open in case one escapes

If there are 3 survivors, 1 escapes leaving the 2 other survivors to fix 1 gen

2 survivors to fix 1 gen is a very, very, long time against a red rank whispers-using hillbilly. Borderline impossible. Even getting 20 seconds unhindered to open a door is a struggle for 2 survivors left.

  • There's plenty of very unbalanced things in the game that people are right to be upset about. But people will also get mad just for losing as well. With enough experience you should be able to distinguish the two.

  • That would be incredibly toxic for the survivors remaining in the game.

You can already ditch your team with a key if you want, but now they can't even try to follow you?

It would be a death sentence for the survivors left against any high mobility killer.

  • @YEEHAW_Main said:

Keys may be endgame but they can make a killer easily lose a kill or two that they need to pip! (And also I was slacking on matches today, I was on a asarov map where a claudette got a hatch escape.) If it was you, I didn't see the key, I would of took the shot if I knew LOL

It was a game on rotten fields, with no DS, where the entire team got out because of two keys, while you(?) desperately tried to camp out a kill after all 5 gens were done. The endgame chat was "I hate keys" or something similar. Or maybe it was another deathslinger.

Anyways, all 5 gens got done without a kill that game. Do you think it was keys that were a problem or how stupidly strong a camping killer is? I think there were 3-4+ more hooks made, more the entire of the 5 gens, while the survivors tried to get everyone out.

If there are no keys, an ivory mori lets you murder someone at 5 gens left. Effectively ending the game for at least 3 of the survivors, 4 if you are willing to slug for 4 minutes. It is especially bad on stealth killers who can ignore BT and smack someone down for the mori literally a second after they get off the hook.

  • @YEEHAW_Main said:

So we are not gonna talk about keys? (Also Im a killer main since beta and think ebonys should be changed to 2 hooks instead of 1.)

I think I beat you earlier with a key today.

Fact is, keys are endgame only. Even an Ivory mori can end the game at 5 gens.

So what's your complaint then? He's OP? Normally when people complain a killer is braindead and easy it's about Billy. You get early hits with Legion and some map awareness and after that he's no different from any other standard killer. He can be looped for days and Spirit Fury is easily countered by dropping the pallet earlier.

Legion is not that great a killer but he is good at making people mad and getting them to screw up more than normal.

He is literally like a perma tier 3 myers, but you get a speed boost he can just match if he wants. Good legions will bodyblock you during the unfrenzy animation.

Billy is super easy as well, but at least you can dodge the chainsaw if you telegraph your moves and then make a juke.

Legion has no counterplay for the first hit. You have to bait him, which is a massive outplay, because he can just vault over pallets or window straight after you for it.

You are injured the second he sees you, or when he sees your team and you are nearby.

Then you throw on spirit fury / enduring , which is another borderline uncounterable perk set, and then brag you get kills with it?

  • The new ruin is still obnoxiously strong if you are playing to it's strengths. Find and tunnel one survivor the entire game, and it is a nerf. Shove people off gens with a high mobility killer or sloppy butcher? It is annoying as the old ruin.

Devour is so strong that all the other hex totem spawn locations need to be based off of it.

Lullaby used to not come with a notification and I think it was just frustrating for noobs who did not even know the perk existed or what it did.

Retribution is insane when combined with haunted grounds. 60 seconds of 1 shots along with 10 seconds of wallhacks, must be a bad perk because you don't know how to snowball off that.

Legion holds W to hit Survivors.

Survivors hold W to get away.

    It's a simple formula.

You can't avoid the first hit, without some ridiculous outplay like baiting him with sprint burst or a locker. It is literally like you are exposed the second he sees you. The fact people consider him weak is laughable.

  • Solo Q survivor is so much harder than killer, for veteran players. Extremely experienced players can get up to 95%+ win rates as a killer, but still get dropped as a survivor.

Why? It only takes 1 weak link for the killer to exploit to completely destroy a team. You can be an absolute god at looping / running object of obsession to get the killers attention but it doesn't matter if your baby kate without DS is getting tunneled into the floor at 5 gens left.

If all the survivors are good players, it is a cake-walk. But that is rarely the case.

  • @ohheyitsbobcat said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1180834#Comment_1180834

It's comments like this that make me love playing him all that much more. <3

I just want to point out how braindead and easy it is. There's plenty of other killers who are much worse, but keep playing legion.

  • I don't believe the variants increase your chances of getting the map, but it is in my opinion the strongest survivor map that exists. Pretty large, loads of easy to use safe pallets, along with an infinite window.

The good thing is, even at red ranks, survivors will still throw the 2 best pallets in the entire game (the 2 school pallets) like they are nothing. But a seasoned survivor could loop you for 3-5 gens with those 2 pallets and the window alone.

  • Wow, you get a free hit with legion and then a free down with spirit fury? F tier killer, injuring the entire survivor team in the first 30 seconds of the game is terrible.

  • You know, in a game like league of legends you can't just leave the game because you died early and got tilted.

The game says "death is not an escape", but it really is.

If you get downed in the first 20 seconds of the game, get tilted, #########; you ruin the chances of survival for every other player in the game. DBD is unique in this aspect.

It is not balanced as a 3v1 game, and I cannot count the amount of times I die by default due to a salty survivor.

  • @Deadeye said:

Not every third. If you are lucky and have no SWF, you can at most get every survivor once, then they will drop pallets early. Also before, you might need to kick more pallets before you finally manage to eat one

Edit: wasted on Clown for same reason you mentioned, wasted on Plague as it cancels her power, and only works on Legion well if you combine it with the pallet breaking ultra rare addon. Other builds are simply stronger. It is only really a viable combo on M1 killers, preferably insta down killers, reducing it to GF and Myers. Chainsaws and Demo also excluded, as they can break pallets anyway, so two perk slots wasted for a minor speedboost

Spirit fury is pretty much the best killer perk there is for chasing down competent survivors. They will be running the loops so tight you will have no other option except to be eating pallets. If they drop pallets early you have brutal strength. Even if they drop it on your head with no spirit fury, brutal + enduring shreds it so fast you lose minimal distance during the chase. That means they are much less likely to get into a good position at the next loop, forcing the next pallet drop even earlier. Add in some mindgames, zoning them into bad directions, etc, and you will be downing people very fast.

Using it on someone like clown means they will be burning pallets at an unsustainable rate for them to survive the game in many cases, if you know to protect gens in the areas you have carved out dead zones in.

Plague never gets to use her power, so just having everyone as a 1 shot all game with the build is super strong. That's basically the same idea with legion, if you see someone, you collect your free hits then run them down with the build.

I don't see what else to use as a killer. I always run corrupt. Anti-heal builds, Infectious fright, save the best, pop, etc assume you will be getting lots of easy hits; and against really good survivors that's not going to happen unless you are playing an OP killer like hag or spirit.

    @Exiled1990 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1180315#Comment_1180315

I respectfully disagree that is one of the best builds, and putting them all on is gearing yourself up to be hindered in your other areas that you have to think about when playing killer (pressure, information, and other enhancements.)

In comparison putting on DS, BT, Unbreakable and Adrenaline allows you to play around poor mechanics ('tunnelling' being determined purely by time and no other variables, DS proc'ing by jumping into lockers, Unbreakable forcing DS to be used, and Adrenaline allowing all that time wasted to accumulate into you getting healed up.

The problem I feel is not that killers do or don't have second chances, it's that their 'second chances' come at a big cost in other areas of their gameplay, whereas survivors get a nice bump around the board - especially when they cheese game mechanics when they 'play optimal'

Adrenaline is actually terrible. It assumes your team is good enough to get to the lategame in the first place, and even if you do, you have to be injured in which case just healing is mediocre and something like botany knowledge probably would have gotten you way more value all game long.

It's only good if you are directly being chased by the killer when the last gen pops, and in theory that's probably only going to be 1/4 or 1/3 of the times because there's going to be other people who could be gettting chased; or the killer might not even be in a chase at all. I never use it because I never get consistent value from it. It's nice when it works, but that's a very small percentage of the time.

DS/BT/Unbreakable can be abused but proxy camping, slugging, and tunneling are one of the strongest strategies a killer can employ, with little counterplay on the survivors end if your team is not extremely good or running those perks. (Less so for slugging, if survivors are getting chain slugged that is usually their own fault)

But sometimes your team gets you killed as well, and those perks are about the only thing protecting you from getting farmed or situations like getting caught out by infectious fright when the meg camping the pallet at the jungle gym you are at goes down while still wasting it and now you are stuck in a total dead zone with your location revealed.

Sitting in a locker for DS is also the best way to deal with a tunnel mori, the most BS thing in the game, especially if you get unhooked in a dead zone.

  • @Exiled1990 said:

Except that Spirit Fury tends to require Enduring to ensure it is a 'second chance perk' aka two perk slots for perhaps one, two, or if you're lucky three proc's per match.

NOED requires totems to not be cleansed during a match and for the RNG to be in your favour when the lucky set of bones gets picked.

Perks such as DS, Borrowed Time, Dead Hard, Unbreakable, and probably a few others I am forgetting do not have many prerequisites, and tend not to be used for their intended purpose (because you know, people will bend mechanics to their devious plans when given the chance.)

I understand a couple of the perks I said aren't strong on their own, but the problem comes when paired up with other perks. Whilst to get a 'second chance' as killer often requires weakening yourself in many other areas, survivors typically get stronger by incorporating multiple perks for their desired playstyle.

And enduring lets you swing through every pallet to collect your free dedicated server hits you might otherwise miss, and then with spirit fury you are ignoring every third pallet entirely?

With brutal added on as well you basically ignore pallets and cannot be looped, and I think those three combined are one of the best builds in the game you can run right now. Toss on corrupt or pop too so your game lasts more than 3-4 minutes.

It works especially well if you are on a killer who one shots, gets totally free damage states (plague, legion) or already stops looping to begin with (clown).

  • @hex_genrush said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1180046#Comment_1180046

I mean by second chance as a opportunity that can help you turn the tide and win the match

How about just mindlessly swinging through a pallet and the survivor getting punished for making a good play? Many times I get hit with spirit fury the killer had built it up on someone else, and I was doing my job extending the chase as long as possible instead of just camping the pallets.

And if it's a one shot killer that might end up being the end of the game for you, as the rest of your team goes down at the same time and you get 1 hooked after being one shotted after a spirit fury pallet.

  • He's bad, but fun. You need to be pixel perfect with the shots, and im sure there's plenty of dedicated server action going on with them as well.

Meanwhile huntress just lobs a hatchet in your general direction and gets a hit.

The only such map that comes to mind would be that big nurse map. As for other map its not that big of a deal in my opinion.

I see so many variations in almost every map. The only map with super static pallets seem to be the indoor ones.

Take the Thompson house for example, or even a killer-sided map like wreckers yard. I have seen some absolutely disgusting set-ups one time, like multiple jungle gyms into the cow tree into shack, and basically worthless set-ups in others; like some empty windows and short wall pallets.

  • PWYF / Nemesis is only good on one-shot killers. It's not worth spending 45~ seconds building up the stacks for a single down. You may as well just bloodlust for that and not waste the perk slots.

  • @elvangulley said:

Noed is about it and survivors are hell bent on getting it nerfed

Rancor is up there. You can literally loop or hide from the killer for the entire game, get a lousy door spawn and if you don't have someone else to open them for you; get 1 shotted and mori'd.

Spirit fury is pretty bad too but at least that takes your whole build to really use well.

  • Why would people think tournaments are valid in a game with RNG map layouts? One team can get pallet galore and the other can get empty fields.

  • @PigMainClaudette said:

They're probably confusing "add-on rework" with "nerf" considering the community perception of the Nurse add-on changes.

Happens a bit whenever anyone mentions killer "changes", even if they are truly better for the game.

Consider for many of the new killers, the majority of the add-ons are pretty weak. Meanwhile some of the old killer add-ons are completely outrageous still (huntress doing a 90 second exhaust when they won't even give doc an exhaust on his ultra rare anymore).

Id say killer add-on power is trending down. Less from "I win by putting on this add-on" aka Iri heads; and moving more towards specific scenarios in which the add-on increases your power, like the Oni ultra rare making people scream when you miss your dashes.

Sure, call me a bad baby killer noob who can’t apply pressure if you want but NOED is standard now on most killers.

Multiple games as Wraith last night where I found someone almost instantly, surprise hit and quick second hit. Repeat for each survivor and still 5 gens pop with no one dead.

The math just isn’t in your favor to actually 3-hook people before gens pop. And no I don’t want an ez 4K but I very clearly dominate and outclass the survivors I should at least get 2-3

If you "clearly outclass" the survivors.....you won't even get to endgame to use NOED.

NOED is free kills for noobs, who go into games expecting to lose. Nothing more. Get some doors that spawn close together and you are practically guaranteed a kill or two just for equipping a perk.

I will use it when im learning a killer, but that's about it, because I know it is a crutch.

    @Blister987 said:

Have you ever seen a killer so bad that you thought that he has NOED 100%? Now compare it with the times that you saw a good killer and thought that he has NOED. Yeah, the second case is inexistent because they don't have it . You're trash for running, no one blames you because running low tier killers is a death sentence, but you're still trash.

This times 50. When I see a killer (probably using a default skin) performing terribly I am like "this dude is gonna have NOED 100%"

I am usually more shocked when it turns out they don't have it.

29 is a bit much but im a decent killer too.

The problem is that theres a huge difference between rank 1 survivors and rank 1 survivors.

Lets say the game would actually measure skill with ranks.

Then I should be like a rank 4 killer (top 20%) I dont know everything about the game, but I have understood what does what. Im able to mindgame etc.

There are survivors that you cant win against with certain killers. And I had a streak against people like this. Youll get send to haddonfield etc.

Its just frustrating. You have a game against potatoe survivors or a game against a super gen rush squad. Both games are not fun the first one being to easy and the second one unwinnable.

Also I play on PS4 at night. which is the best time for hardcore squads.

Do you really care about your rank? It means nothing at all. If you want rank 1 you just spam legion and stab everyone and pip even if you don't kill anyone.

Me? I am sitting solidly at rank 4-5, because I use mori's / tombstones / basement builds / etc every game and it's way better than trying to play nice so I can pip up.

  • Do people really get mindgamed by a 110 killer? Anyone competent doesn't go down to a 110 killer unless they are using their power.

I will stack passive phasing add-ons as a meme sometimes to spook the noobs, but using something like power recharge / power duration / extra speed is infinitely better.

  • @InTheBushes321 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1170488#Comment_1170488

Yeah, that's the problem. That 3 gens can get done in 80 seconds. That a game can theoretically be done in 3-4 minutes. Do you understand this? Too difficult, maybe?

Yes, by facecamping. And that isn't even a guarantee. If the killer got a kill normally, and not by being dirty, then your team is objectively bad at the game, and the fault is on your team of survivors.

And a killer like billy or oni can down the entire survivor team in under a minute with infectious fright. A tunnel mori can be done within the first minute of the game, especially if you are cheesing it with a stealth killer.

  • I used to always use pop, but I find it bad now. It was only super useful when stacked with old ruin. These days it's only really good on ridiculously high mobility killers like freddy, who can use whatever perks they want anyways.

It's worthless if you are not quickly downing survivors, and if you are doing that, you are going to win anyways. It usually needs a secondary perk like BBQ or thrilling tremors to locate the best gens to hit, both of which are a waste of a perk slot.

The gens go so fast that in many cases they get finished before I can even get to them with low mobility killers. I get significantly more value out of straight chase perks now, like spirit fury / enduring / brutal strength.

Corrupt is just straight up better than it. Survivors spawn on the gens it blocks and it gives you some breathing room that any low mobility killer is going to need.

Pop is only godly if you are in a 3 gen situation, and if it's down to the wire you are probably going to be slugging because there will be no time to hook people.

  • Noob killer, bad build, what else is there to say really?

Run into a game with greedy perks like BBQ and iron maiden and expect not to get stomped by (what I assume) is a SWF who do the gens instead of dull totems and chests?

Just another example of why corrupt intervention is the best killer perk in the game currently.

What does gen speed have to do with avoiding, mitigating, or countering Freddy’s power.

Sorry but that’s what you have to choose between against Freddy: powering through gens, or bettering your odds of survival during a chase. You can’t have both, and in the case of Freddy one of those choices doesn’t mutually benefit the other like against other killers.

And 60 seconds in DBD is actually a long time with the fast paced nature of this game. And if you find that too short, use the Alarm Clocks. Keeps you awake for 90 seconds.

And what about when freddy is camping, and your alarm clock is right next to the camped survivor?

You can't save, you can't wake up, and you don't want to watch your team die at the same time?

BT needs to be proximity-based just off the fact that a facecamping freddy is so damn overpowered.

    Deathslinger is better.

    1. No hum. Adding Monitor drags the terror radius right down so you can pretty close unnoticed.

    2. No need for lockers to reload

    3. Harpoon is so much easier to hit with than hatchets

    4. Better perks

I've enjoyed DS so far. Only negative is having to reload the gun after every shot.

Easier to hit than hatchets? You gotta be nuts. The hitboxes for hatchets must be at least 4x bigger than the harpoon.

Overall, I find him to be totally garbage. Probably the worst killer in DBD. I am gonna refer to him as memeslinger from now on. I feel better on clown than this guy.

It's a high skill, low reward power. Half the time you hit an injured survivor with it you can't even down them because there is a box or something in the way and that's too much for the memeslinger to handle. Probably the best thing i've been able to do with it is stop an injured survivor from unhooking but someone like myers would stop that by just murdering them in 1 shot before they can even get close.

The hitbox is tiny and it feels like the harpoon is just going through them half the time without doing anything.

I've only gotten 4k wins with him against good rank 1 survivors by playing cheesy AF.

His perks are just awful too. Especially gearhead. "I can find what gens survivors are on after 2 attacks AKA downing someone". Gee, so thrilling tremors or BBQ? If you get it by basic attacking 2 separate survivors then you already found half the team.

Meanwhile, what do survivors get? Instant medkits back into the game.

Let's remove instant medkits because they are OP and then add them right back a few patches later. It's good nobody has caught onto the fact you can use the new perk with a styptic yet, for an effective reusable instant medkit if the killer doesn't find and force the syptic pop.
