SURVIVORS SURVIVORS SURVIVORS
KILLER MAINS KILLER MAINS KILLER MAINS
MY SIDE YOUR SIDE MY SIDE YOUR SIDE
Can you for the love of god discuss things like normal people instead of resorting to straw men every other ######### post? It's getting tiresome.

So why's your example of a streamer doing 50 wins in a row but my example of streamers doing the same on the opposite side is invalid?
I never said that, that is exactly my point. Streamers win streaks are not a great way to measure game balance.
-
@tester said:
"once killers figure it out most will cut back on full slow builds" - lol, that's not how it works. Just search youtube for "dbd 50 win streak" to understand that people will continue stomping if they are allowed to stomp. Next up: a barrage of videos "dbd 100 win streak"
Edit: or even better, tell me how it's a balanced game with fair matchmaking that allows 136 wins streak?
There are literally streamers with 500 escape streaks out there. Your example does not prove anything at all.

Demo or blight
My first thought too, their powers are very good while also offering a ton of counterplay, when facing a good blight or demo it pretty much always comes down to looping skill. Overall very fun killers to play as and against.
-
My idea is that they make any survivor within 16 meters or something of that generator suffer from the incapacitated status effect. It would make sense considering the perk is basically implying you are putting a bomb in the generator.

This is mistake.
They just should stop play lol, like me.
Numbers will down, they will make less money. And then they will give some love to survivors.
It is mistake to reward killers with free kills.
You are proving his point.
"If I throw a tantrum then the devs will listen to me and they will give me my perks back"
It really isn't better than the "killer mains oppresed" crowd, you are just acting like an entitled brat because you can't play exactly the way you want. Grow up.

@OnryosTapeRentals said:
"I am a main killer so i will not lie, i might be kinda based"
Can killer mains stop giving their unwarranted opinions on an issue affecting SURVIVORS.
We're telling you solo queue is in a bad spot and you're responding with "Well actually as a killer here's all the reasons it's not."
Do you not realise how biased this is?
You are acting as if "the evil killer mains" don't play the same game as you do.

For Killer? This patch is great, it's like the reverse 1.9 patch.
As Survivor? Oh boy is it painful.
Please don't give me mid animation stun PTSD, that was probably the game's lowest point.

It's the same as always, getting screwed by lack of coordination.
-
They have always been boring. Either recolors or mediocre skins, not sure why people keep buying them. And charms... Let's be real, does ANYBODY actually notice other players' charms when playing?

If you go by actual time efficiency, then those 5 seconds are more than all what killers got combined.
Not really.
5 seconds of potential value is not the same as 0.2 seconds of absolute value. To win you NEED to hit survivors, and so you will get an attack cooldown and survivors will get a boost. To win you NEED to break pallets and breakable walls in most of your matches, and so you will need to break pallets and breakable walls. To win you DON'T NEED to tunnel every single match, so you don't have to go for the same survivor over and over.
When you hit survivors, the distance they will end up losing compared to pre-patch allows you to end chases much quicker, and chases are a core part of gameplay. If you tunnel, survivors have a window of about 20 something meters to reach a safe spot, but those 20 something meters of distance do not matter if you simply don't go for them. Problem is: Those 20 meters are usually not even enough to reach a safe spot.
To put things into perspective: One change was made to mitigate the issue of running in a straight line after getting hit so the killer can't catch you, the other to reduce tunneling and camping. One is working, the other one is not. Can you guess why?

Remember when BHVR said that BBQ was only used for the bloodpoints? Yeah turns out that's not exactly the case. Which would be obvious if they even played their own game. It's obvious when someone has bbq because they always come straight at you even if you are just off a gen coming in for an unhook. I bet the pick rate of bbq barely even moved after the "nerf". So since we are supposed to change the meta and all can bbq get a real nerf now that people are realizing which should have been obvious? BBQ is an insanely strong perk for anyone with movement and even killers without movement.
My man here really asking to set the corpse on fire.

A mixture of this game having not a clear objective and BHVR needing fast qeues so that the game doesn't die.

and why do they want it everywhere ? like the cosmetics now, why would anyone want that?
I get it cartoons are nice, you have fun watching them, etc. but I would hate for bhvr adding DuckTales or Bravestarr or Biene Maja Cosmetics to the game because it doesn't fit the game,
it's the same with all the anime stuff ... Jesus will I be chasing Survivors in Pokemon Costumes next?
To be fair stranger things isn't much of a horror series and it still made it to dbd.
-
Just let us choose the music. It can't be that hard can it?
-
Team 2 because I really like both Sadako and Pinhead. I alsoo like nemesis but not as much as the other 2, and plague... I hate plague.
-
Jesus christ just suck it up, it only lasts for 1 (one) minute and you can still see at a reasonable distance to be able to correctly loop. I have no reason to put up with your tantrums and yet here I am having to play with people like you who give up because they can't take one match against a killer they don't like.
-
Pyramid head was both implemented better than Nemesis and has a better power than him. I enjoy Nemesis but I wish they did more with his power, he feels too underwhelming.

so I keep saying this perk on every killer…. And with the exception of legion and plague.. it’s not really great for the others. Had a Sadako have it as their only slowdown. She got 1 hook, and at no point was more than one person injured if at all.
I think people are hearing others complain about thana and think that’s it’s great for their mains but aren’t understanding who it’s best for and why.
That Sadako was probably not playing particularly great, that or she went against medkits and boons which almost completely nullifies that kind of build.

Does playing Legion with Feral Recharge add-ons help?
I really don't know, sorry. I completed the challenge first try with Oni against survivors that were not particularly great.
-
It's really, really annoying, the visual effect is just a mild annoyance but the sound effect is ######### grating and it doesn't go away even after you have hooked 6 survivors. It's bottled tinnitus if I could describe it one way.
-
@GoshJosh said:
The real question is: is Deathbound used in any match outside of Adept Executioner?
(No.)
I use it a lot on Oni and Blight, it's actually a pretty fun perk. I just wish it gave another status effect like exposed or exhaustion. Then it would actually be a pretty interesting pick.

Whats going on is Valve thought killers were too weak and buffed them. After people stop throwing they will get some number and adjust those changes accordingly.
For what its worth, a solo survivors worst enemy is other solo survivors that just dc on first down or suicide on hook. Nothing the killer can do even comes close to that level of effectiveness and since the update, those kinds of players have been rampant. Like every 3/4 games. The other 1/4 games that survivors actually try to win are very enjoyable.
Damn didn't know Valve developed dead by daylight, this is the moment trapper became an engineer gamer.

hey i appreciate the tons of information :))
seems ill be picking up persona 5 and im sure thats also coming to switch right?? i just remember a huge announcement and i think i saw multiple persona games but i could be wrong. ive only played a little of 3 but i sold it years ago :(
seems like each game is self contained so i like that.
DUUDE ive been eyeing SMTV for a while now... i dont mind also if the main character is like 18 or so (judging from trailers of SMT5, she looks 18) i just dont like when its like a pokemon game where its a literal child. but i checked the eshop and the only SMT on there is 5 :(( and im unsure if i have the console for the others

Yeah, Persona 3-5 are coming to basically every single platform under the sun in the following months. Persona 5 is probably going to be more expensive than the other two so I would keep that in mind.
- i dont mind also if the main character is like 18 or so (judging from trailers of SMT5, she looks 18)
Oh boy, the protagonist in SMT V is actually male. Two males in fact. It's funny, don't worry, everyone got confused at first too.
- i checked the eshop and the only SMT on there is 5
I am pretty sure SMT III is also available for the switch, look it up in the eshop browser as "Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne". If not it is also available on Steam and Playstation 4 if you happen to own one.
- im unsure if i have the console for the others
That's the tricky part. SMT: Strange Journey, SMT IV and SMT IV - Apocalypse are all 3DS exclusives. Strange Journey is also available on DS, but it was remastered for the 3DS. The rest you will probably have to emulate, ATLUS re-released the rest of the SMT games in the switch amd only for nintendo online Japan and there seems to be no plans of localizing them any time soon, but there are a couple of really good fan translations out there. To be honest by the point you are playing the original SMT titles you are already invested enough in the series not to care about that.
You can also try the devil summoner saga, I personally haven't played any of them so I can't really say much about them. They are technically not SMT titles but I have been told they play pretty much the same.

Yeah, but you also have to consider that Tome-Challenges for Survivors are basically almost always "Do something else than Gens", while Killer Challenges are for the most part "Play the game".
Considering that we know still have a Slowdown-Meta and Killer got a massive Buff, Challenges which force you to use a weak Perk only should not be the case anymore.
I mean, it's probably meant to be that way. Completely altering your playstyle when playing killer is way harder considering you will not have 3 other people to split your objective with. For instance: The twins challenge where you had to get a hit from 12 meters away was absolutely painful because usually you don't go for long hits with Victor, so you were basically required to throw the game to get it. With the "dead hard only" challenge at the very least you may rely on not having potato teammates SOMETIMES.

They are probably not made by the same people who also balance the game.
@Topic:
The DH-Challenges obviously need changes now. Surviving while only using Dead Hard would be another one which is not really appropiate.
It's perfectly doable, just harder. It's in one of the later tomes for a reason.

Killers have been complaining for as long as I remember because the game has always been survivor sided. If survivors were not super loud right now, you woud STILL see killers complaining because the game is still heavily survivor sided.
My man, how can you look at the current state of the game and say it is unironically survivor sided. At this point it's just disingenous, sure, the game was awfully survivor sided in the past and map balance is still somewhat skewed in the survivors favour, but we have reached a point were you can get consistently good results with any killer in roster.
-
I think the mori rework will come with a Myers rework too. It would make sense since his power is the only one that allows you to mori survivors with add-ons (PH and Sadako moris are basekit features and are different from the normal mori)
-
Jonah's story just comes up as imperialist white washing. The CIA is not good, even if they are employing the son of poor hispanic immigrants.
-
It should be buffed to 150%, in it's current state it's meme tier.
-
Oni, his add-ons imply he had a disabled son. There is a lot of potential to explore how his family relationships impacted on him becoming a monster.
Deathslinger too, I would like to see some cowboy adventures.
And Yoichi, because he basically is an OC from BHVR. It would be interesting to see how he copes with losing his parents.
-
Yeah I have noticed the same. Solo is still pretty painful as per usual but people aren't disconnecting as much anymore and matches are no longer a curbstomp, I have finallly had some pretty challenging killer games as of late, probably due to the spike in MMR I got from the first days of the update where I was winning every single game.
-
@Carth said:
"Typically survivors will spawn near the gens farthest from where you spawn. Once you find any survivor, relentlessly tunnel them until they are down and on first hook."
How on earth is it tunneling when they are the first survivor in the game you encounter? Is it now tunneling if you hit a survivor twice in a row?
tunneling is when the killer does stuff, and the more stuff the killer does, the more tunneling it is, and if the killer does a bunch of stuff at once, it is camping.
-
- You need to time it, it's not just a "press X to get out of jail" card
- Killers with ranged attacks can straight out ignore it if good enough
- It doesn't give I-frames so you can't use it as a dumb counter to literally everything in the game
In short; It actually requires some level of skill and it offers some serious counterplay. It is a good perk, but not as annoying or unfair as DH.

Assasin's creed & stray is on my list also!!
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3089941#Comment_3089941
ive always wanted to get into persona but i dont like the young/ teenage main protagonist... i prefer them older like in RE & SH.
however Persona 3 is on my list for switch!!
I personally don't recommend getting into Persona 3 first. Don't get me wrong, it's an excellent game in my opinion and it possibly has the strongest plot and characters of the bunch, but the gameplay is pretty outdated; it can get unbearably grindy and repetitive and I don't see ATLUS (the developing company) updating much for the switch version besides some bug fixes.
The version of Persona 3 they are re-releasing (portable) is missing the epilogue chapter and ATLUS probably isn't adding it. But to be honest you are not missing much, it is a very disliked addition by most of the community, although playing it may be necessary to understand minor plotlines and subtext in some spin-offs.
Persona 4 is better gameplay wise, but I also don't recommend starting with it for similar reasons. It can get tedious at times, but the story is also pretty great and the characters are really relatable.
Persona 5 is usually the recommended game for beginners, and it shows with the amount of tutorials and guides available in game. It is overall a great introduction to the Persona series.
Although, nothing is stopping you from playing them in whatever order you like: All Persona games are pretty non-linear and you can pick whichever you like without worrying about continuity issues - You may miss a reference here and there but nothing beyond that.
If you end up liking the games, I can't recommend getting into the mainline SMT series enough. The subjects and characters are more mature and the gameplay in general is way more challenging, SMT III in particular is infamous for being very beginner unfriendly. Still, no adult protagonists except for Strange Journey.

I have been somewhat busy so I haven't had much time to play. On my free time I tend to play Persona 2, but I am advancing at a snail's pace. I suck at dungeon crawlers.

Yeah, an unfun "strat". That it's valid does not mean it should not be subject to changes.
-
It has definetely changed. If you are seeing the same perks it's probably from killers that are not aware about the changes made this patch.
-
The chase music is cool tho.
-
@Chocolate_Cosmos said:
Why would you nerf "Okay" killer? It's fine, let him have some strong addon. It seems like half of his addons are meh anyway.
How? He possibly has the best set of add-ons in the entire game out of the non top tiers, they compliment his power really well. The worst aren't even bad, just gimmicky.
- Common and uncommon add-ons that drastically change his playstyle for the better or add flat buffs that really help him on the long run.
- All of his rares are good.
- Possibly the best set of very rare add-ons in the game: Only Tilling Blade is mediocre and even then it allows you to play a very interesting game of hit and run.
Only his ultrarares are mediocre, but that is to be expected. Compared to other killers like Billy, Twins or Nemesis who only have one or two good add-ons, Dredge has got it pretty good.
-
I think people are missing the point of the thana complaints. It's not the extra 2%, but the added 10 seconds of gen time that came with this patch on top of the slowdown. 115 seconds of gen time is indeed pretty painful, and even if you take into account that you need all 4 survivors injured to get the most value out of it you can't forget other perks that also increase gen times even further. I don't want to bring extremely specific perk combos that might help me mitigate this massive slowdown when the main attractive of the game is the actual chase against the killer.
