Yikes and here you had me thinking the forums were any better than reddit, you guys can't just drop the us vs them tantrums for a minute can you?.

A crutch is something only for survivors if a survivor use a perk too often its a crutch.
But if killers rely on things like perks or addons it's completely fine because they need it apparently. :)
Basically it's a double standard insult directed at survivor
If you are using NOED I will also call it a crutch. It's no double standard.

The thing with GoJ is that there are some really powerful loops/pallets, but there's also a lot of dead zones (similar to Haddonfield rework). There's a lot of pallets, but only a couple of them are really strong, whilst others can be won with one mind-game.
The worst maps by a country mile are The Game and Badham. Badham is beyond broken: it has four god buildings (the school, the main house, the smaller house with the basement, and shack), as well as a bunch of really safe pallets and loops. Not to mention it's really big and convoluted.
The Game is way more manageable now that the hold W meta is severely nerfed and pallet breaking speeds are better, plus there are some killers with pretty strong antiloop that can mitigate the strenght of a lot of the loops there. It's a pretty boring map but it's definetely better than Haddonfield or Garden of Pain.
But yeah, Badham is absolutely busted, big as belgium while also having some of the strongest loops in game.

"Ok, we have this game about serial murderers that must hook innocent people (except for that one guy that worked for the CIA and aided in bombing an independent republic that tried to break free from the US with zero regrets and that other that killed an innocent civilian thinking he was a zombie after breaking into his house), amongst which there are two child murderers, the spirit of a teen that was killed by her dad and is borderline nude, a further 2 women that were tortured and whose deaths are very graphically described in game, a torture-porn icon and a female genitalia looking monster. What brand new feature should we add into our very 18+ game?"
"Add a very restricctive in-game chat censor, it may traumatise the young people playing the game"

This is what i don't understand. being annoyed with changes is perfectly understandable, but review bombing is straight up throwing a tantrum. Both sides have certainly had their share of dark times and game breaking bugs, but this reaction is peak entitlement. Reviews are supposed to be based on your overall experience, not a current state of a shifting game. You can include that information in a review, but thats not the same at all.
Yeah it is pretty petty to say the least, even if I agree that the balance changes may have gone a bit too far this time it really isn't any excuse to be acting this way.
-
Buff basekit borrowed time, either revert the gen time increase or nerf existing regression perks, and revert the DS nerf. With how fast you can get downs now increased gen times really aren't necessary.

In the past 2 days the positive rating on steam store for this game dropped from 83% to 79%. Pretty sure there's a reason for that.
Jesus christ, is this community really review bombing the game because of some balance changes? If killers did that every single patch with nerfs this game would already have very negative reviews.

How the hell was I supposed to time dead hard for distance.

A really cool idea i saw on the forums was that if a survivor uses a tape to remove their curse it spreads 1 bar to all other survivors.
Only way to break the curse is to spread it and stuff.
Also the amount of time to get a bar of condemned while holding a tape should be 24 seconds for fluff reasons
24 seconds 7 bars, cmone why wasen't this a thing
Damn this is pretty cool too. But I could see it becoming either too weak or too strong on certain maps, you would really rely on how fast you can get survivors condemned to make them actually grab tapes.

BHVR team that works on DbD is relativelly small.
Behavior does a lot of outsourcing if i'm not mistaken so the mayority of their employees aren't working on DbD and those who do are split between normal and mobile.
I could be wrong about this but i think that's the gist of it
Wouldn't surprise me if the budget they are allowed to use would also be relattively small
900 people is not small.
-
I have a bunch of ideas.
The no brainers:
- Exposed when fully condemned
- Increased speed boost after exiting a TV
- Reduced TV teleportation cooldown
- General add-on rework
Some more unorthodox suggestions:
- Survivors get a 1% movement speed reduction for each stack of condemnation
- TV exit time reduced by 1 second (it would make getting stacks and doing cool plays mid chase easier)
- One survivor gains passive condemnation at double the rate and must retrieve the tape to pass the curse to another random survivor.
- When Sadako teleports, survivors are camera locked to the TV (similarly to how hag's traps camera lock you when you trigger them) if they are within visual range of it, and suffer a slight movement speed penalty.
Personal pet peeve of mine:
- Inexorable stare rework so that it is more akin to Ringu (the whole "static after death" is more a thing from the american version)
-
Rancor and Pain Resonance: No brainer. She projects all her past trauma on those who watch the tape.
Make your choice: Those trying to help the people afflicted by the curse suffer the consequences one way or the other.
Surge/Jolt: She manages to use her psychic powers to affect nearby electronics.
-
Hag, hag, hag.
By far my least favorite killer in the game, even the ones I don't find particularly fun I can tolerate. But hag, I just absolutely despise playing as and against her.

Ooooh I am so scared getting slugged for 2 minutes ooooh nooooo the killer is tunneling me again, I am so scared, this is indeed peak horror.

No overheat or heavily toned down overheat, so you can actually do some feathering.
Improved animations so I don't get a headache each time I play him.
Reworked add-ons (80% of them are useless bloodweb clutter and the other 20% range from meme tier to decent)

You're definitely a new player and don't understand this game's matchmaking. Ranks were far better than mmr. Mmr doesn't even work.
I don't know if we played the same game but ranks didn't work neither, everyone was complaining about how they were always going against people way below or way above their rank.
-
I literally only know AoT through memes. One of my friends advised me against watching it because he REALLY disliked the ending, which he explained in detail but I don't really remember much besides the whole reeincarnated bird thing.
-
The "go ahead, heal your teammates, I dare you"
Sadako running well drawing + either iri tape or tape editing deck
Dying Light + STBFL + Franklins demise (so they can't use medkits) + Shattered hope (so they can't heal themselves with CoH)
I have found it to be oddly effective even against coordinated teams. You really don't want to be injured against Sadako but neither do you want to heal others when she is running well drawing. It is absolutely devastating on indoor maps, but she is already pretty good on them so that is not saying much.

Curve Billy is a rarity to come across, but I absolutely love facing them. And as someone who plays Billy a lot, I seem to get a lot of positive feedback (with the occasional negative comment or message). And I wanted to get some feedback as to how the community feels (especially after the perk rework, since a lot of perks that hard countered Curve Billy, most notably Dead Hard, got changed).
I don't even see Billy players anymore, when I do it is someone either new to the game or completing a daily.

Since the patch dropped i have been running a good number of perks that make me difficult to find: Distortion, off the record, kindred (to get a heads up on the killer incase they come in my direction after hook), lightweight, iron will (even after the patch), lucky break, etc etc.
I propose that survivors that are "hard to find" can now, on average, waste more killer time than looping. What are your thoughts and opinions?
Small note: I do run Lithe in case I end up in chase.
But that is boring. I don't want to hide, I want to test my skill in chase against a killer.

yes, they were successful at removing Dead Hard as meta.
now, nobody uses it anymore, and killers are now getting free hit.
good job making a good perk now a TRASH.
even with change, its still buggy as fock.
"free hit" lmao. The killer wasn't getting a free hit, you were getting a free health state, dead hard is dead as a crutch for bad survivors and that is a GOOD thing.

1). Without DH, tiles can no longer be greeded without fear of going down.
2). Going down is way more impactful due to increased gen times as people are forced off gens for rescue...obviously more impactful if there are multiple solos in the lobby.
3). Presumably, downs will occur at a more frequent rate, compounding the time/pressure crunch of the above point.
4). Pallets are considerably more valuable as a resource...Looping etc is business as usual, even with the killer buffs, but once pallets are cleared/dead zones created, the impact of these buffs becomes relevant.
5). As a result of this, resource management is way more important than it previously was, as throwing/removing pallets early enhances the impact of break speed/weapon cooldown speed buffs and survivor on-hit nerf.
6). As expected, downs will occur even faster once resources are deplenished, leading to more time off gens.
Just some theory crafting....
Feel free to discuss/contribute!
Yeah pretty much, punishing mistakes is far easier now that the injured boost got nerfed and recovery speed got buffed. Survivors that grew comfortable with uninteractive hold W gameplay and dead hard users will be forced to learn how to loop correctly now, which is a skill that was sadly lost with time. Overall I think this patch is pretty healthy but some changes like DS being made borderline useless now and basekit BT not lasting very long are making games overbearingly tunnely and campy.

hah, remember 4 TL's that could spawn in the middle of old azarow, now it's back here ?!
It's always been that way, especially suffocation pit. It all boils down to RNG.

What you mean is : whipping a survivor gives a lesser speed boost compared to when you attack them normally.
Yes

I played ~500 games of Nemesis during the cake event. I can tell you that the whip does not cause a tiny slowdown. It gives survivors a mini speed boost. The funny thing is that most people get outpositioned on a loop when you whip them. Since it is not a full speed boost many people go right back to the loop (most of which just get whipped again in round two). What makes being whipped hard for people to manage is that quite often they do not expect to be whipped when you "sling" your whip around corners/pallets.
Just for the sake of clarity - imagine if whipping a survivor made them move at 3.8m/s for 1/4th of a second. That would be a slowdown.
Yeah, it causes a tiny slowdown within the speed boost. It lasts like a quarter of a second and slows them down 20%, which only makes them lose like 1 meter of distance. Not much but it can be really gamechanging in some niche scenarios.
-
No, it's only for basic attacks. Shred and Nemesus whip are not affected, however, you can consider them kind of buffed given how the speed boost after hit was reduced to 1.8 seconds. It is REALLY noticeable, especially with Nemesis' whip causing a tiny slowdown.

She is, and she is awful to go against. 3 games I have had against her and those 3 games were unbearably sweaty.

When was this game skill based to begin with? It's always been filled to the brim with broken crap and awful map RNG.

Why? I think it's better that way. It removes the chances of people targeting specific players for dumb reasons

Survivor: Only Tapp, Ace, Ash, Cheryl, Yoichi and Haddie.
Killer: Everyone except Hag, Plague, Doctor and Pig.
If the update releases today I might not be able to P3 pig. Which is a shame because she will be the only one in the row without the fancy red background.

Not true at all with slinger, a good player will do the same you do against curving billies, not hug the loop when the killer is about to cut a corner, paired with the horrible sensibility in ADS, slinger will miss or you cancel his shot and you can cut the corner safely, not really hard.
The terror radious is a big hit yeah, but the time it takes to pull up the redeemer also affects the reaction time of a survivor, making it impossible to get sniped if you are looking behind you.
I agree with you for the most part except the "don't hug the loop" part. I personally don't have an issue with that, if I see a survivor doing it once, it's mostly a matter of guessing correctly the next time you find yourself in that situation. But yeah, you can't really go for long shots anymore against really good survivors.

"Now 3 years after the rework and a nerf most are left wondering if they should have really reworked him"
How?
How do you get that so easily when so many others do not?
How do you understand it right off the bet?
Who are you?!?
I used to main Freddy before his rework, he was pretty much my main from the time I bought him (which was like 2 months after getting the game on PS4) to the time he got reworked. and from the beginning I knew people were really sleeping (no pun intended) on him. I won't deny he had a lot of issues especially on some pre-rework maps but his passive phasing when making survivors fall asleep in order to get some neat mindgames + his map control through aura reading were exquisite. The class photo + red paint brush combo made me had some of the most fun I have ever had in any game. I was really disgusted with how he played, they turned the dream world into a joke and made him into generic "anti-loop and map mobility killer" number 6. They could have kept his power and spice it a bit, but nope, they had to go all out and make him completely unrecognizable. What the ######### even is micro-sleep?
I think old Freddy had the issue of being a good killer on a time where only busted killers could get consistent results.
-
"Buffed" Freddy was always bad. People just took some time to notice it because at the time there really weren't many killers that could transport instantly, had some admitedly some busted slowdown add-ons and he countered BT. Now 3 years after the rework and a nerf most are left wondering if they should have really reworked him. His power is just unbearably boring.
Deathslinger didn't really change besides from terror radius nerf which forces you to run stealth perks, he was just made clunkier. Survivors still have next to zero reaction time on short loops and you can start aiming from behind a wall in order to not get noticed.
And Billy... What the hell where they thinking? The only possible explanation I can find to his nerf is that they didn't want such a powerful killer being free, but then again, nurse is also free and she is absolutely bonkers, not to mention they gave her 3 blinks and omegablink back when billy only has 2 mediocre revving add-ons and another one that is borderline unusable.
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
If you think that 10 seconds per Gen dont matter and that 5 seconds BT DO matter...
To be fair, it's 5 seconds of BT and haste plus and actual BT buff. I do agree that I should be buffed to something like 8 seconds, 4 seconds (taking into account the fact that you take 1 second to get of the hook ) gives you roughly 17.12 meters of distance from the killer, or the size of the shack and half, which honestly does not sound bad but will probably not be very great at deadzones.

there's absolutely nothing unique about sadako she's the most basic killer in the game even more than trapper. there's not a single thing she does that others don't already do and far better.
you guys really need to stop with these delusional arguments.
and your suggested playstyle would take ages to accomplish anything or it wouldn't even do anything in the first place since survivors don't bother to take the tapes when it's actually better to let her use the tvs lol.
you're dedicating your whole gameplay hoping for her near impossible mori to happen i Don't see how most people would wanna play like that when there a lot of other killers that don't require such effort to have a chance to win.
That's what makes her fun for the few people that seem to be enjoying her, she isn't a typical "haha anti-loop/map teleport goes brooom". You have to dedicate quite some time to get used to the way her TVs and condemnation works to be able to strategize properly and read the survivors' movement.
It's just that in the current meta, and I agree with you on that, if you don't have tools that help you end chases quickly or give you great mobility, your killer will probably require time and effort that the average player can't bother to learn properly, especially with different, more attractive alternatives.
But well, call it delusion, copium or whatever, I will still enjoy her playstyle regardless.

yo,

Condemned ? .... just a Gimmick
Of course there are killer and survivor maps, we know that and that´s ok, but especially the Badham 1-5 (especially 4) Cowshed and Eyrie of Crow give her extra trouble. As if Sadako did not have enough problems already...
I just have no motivation to play Sadako right now because she just doesn't feel good.
Is this the same for you guys?
If you are playing a lot with her and not once getting survivors condemned you are most probably playing her wrong. Using TVs as a means of teleportation and expecting to get survivors condemned passively will not get you any meaningful stacks.

Doctor and legion for the simple fact that snapping out of it takes precedence over mending.
