it's easier to navigate. I can't think of any particularly annoying loop now that most of them were nerfed. So overall I am not that annoyed by it. It's still a bad map but that is pretty much the average for DBD.

It's out. It's finally out. And it's just sad to see. It's a waste of a license just like the first time. I hope it flops but obviously it won't because gaming's BIGGEST horror game franchise's name on it. People shouldn't spend money on it though. It tell them we want more of this just... Badness.
I saw the skins. They look bad. Wesker's looks weird, Leon's looks terrible, Ada's looks good, Rebecca's looks fine, and Jill's looks fine. Carlos and Sheva look fine. So does Hunk. But then we get trash like Feng and Felix? Why would you make those? It's insulting because first off, absolutely no one is buying Feng's because you made the genius move of also releasing it on Jill at the same time, and second, Felix's is insulting because why is that just not on Chris himself? You spent precious time making crap instead of something that makes sense. I don't think anyone is buying those. The look bad. Especially Felix's.
Hunk shouldn't have been a killer skin. This is just stupid. Sure he's not a "good" person. Sure he works for Umbrella. Ada also worked with Wesker though and obviously she shouldn't be a killer. Hunk doesn't fit the killer DBD role. He's not the same as a Wesker or a Nemesis. He should've been a survivor skin. It's just dumb. Looks cool, but makes no sense to me.
Obviously, finally, Wesker's power eats toe nails.
Me when Wesker's hair is slightly less blonde than in the RE:5 spinoff: Weskin Time deluxe premium ultra edition featuring dante from devil may cry (literally unplayable)

Can we make OTR and DS consistent with NOED, Remember Me, Blood Warden, Save the Best for Last, Rancor, etc..?
I don't want to be the breaker of news, but OTR and DS are not end game perks and don't require any build up.

Have you actually played Wesker? He's got an absurdly long cooldown for the occasional benefit his power gives you.
Occasional benefit? Dude has mobility + slowdown + loop denial + some anti-loop in a single tentacle strike. He is REALLY good.

@Biscuits said:
He is fun to play, but he feels weaker than he did on the PTB which was already high B low A tier.
Literally how. I found myself getting hits I couldn't before, especially on esctructures like shack. He can get some really nasty hits on windows now.
-
I disagree
- Reassurance does exactly what it is supposed to do. It absolutely crippled one of my games because I attempted to proxy camp near some generators, it ended up buying up enough time for the survivors to finish one generator and leave.
- If you don't want to adapt to the new meta, that's entirely on you. There are a ton of fun builds you can try that can help mitigate some of the issues solo qeue has.
- Too early to judge him, but he is nowhere near blight or nurse levels of good. His power is pretty restrictive, but strong if you are accurate.
- My brother in christ, the endurance effect after getting hooked got buffed.
-
I really hope my baby girl gets her very deserved changes. And also hoping for a Myers rework, because the chapter should be dropping around the time halloween's final part releases.

I don't like the fact that he doesn't have different sounds.
-
Vaulting over pallets and windows is pretty nasty, I think it's okay the way it is.
-
The fact that I don't really have nearly enough time to invest on survivor. I can only play around the time when qeues are awful for survivor.

Anything Spirit related is automatically amazing.
I agree, filicide is epic.
-
I agree. I unironically rather play on Eyrie of Cringe than swamp maps, they are unappealing and looping on their main structures is a snoozefest.
-
I mean, 20 meters is barely anything, you can easily wait them out.

Okay, so if you know the Big 4... Nemesis is basically Anthrax and Wesker is Metallica. Metallica is so popular that people who do not even listen to metal listen to Metallica, and those types have never even heard of Anthrax. Okay, maybe that is a little unfair. Maybe Nemesis is more like Megadeth. Either way, my main point is that even non-Resident Evil fans love that dude and Nemesis made DBD peak despite being pretty meh by RE standards.
In anime terms, Nemesis is like Naruto... Shippuden and Wesker is Dragon Ball Z, baby! He is so much bigger than Nemesis. And while Nemesis is relatively strong, Wesker is almost certainly going to be better. Lots of people who do not care about the IP will play him just because he is pretty unique, fun, and powerful. Things most of our recent killers have not been.
Wesker is going to be YUGE and Slayer is actually the best, by the way.
To be honest I didn't even know who wesker was until I played resident evil. Nemesis, however, I was fully aware of because whenever people discussed the franchise for some reason he was always one of the first villains mentioned alongside the lickers.

Before its many massivre nerfs and buffs and buffs and nerfs, I found the grind good, challenging, I found it more of a game I could attack and climb at. Now.............................now here we sodding well are. I don't like it.
People nowadays be like "nerf this, nerf that". I just want to have a chill game of 5 blink nurse and old DS for gods sake!

Currently running a pretty basic but effective build on Sadako, I am unlocking everything again so I have only prestiged myers and her.
Jolt + STBFL + Dying Light + Deerstalker, add-ons: Ring Drawing and Cabin Sign. Absolutely devastating against most teams, the amount of times I have seen them completely collapse from the extra stacks ring drawing gives me is precious.
-
Complete add-on rework. That and make it so that his power actually resembles nemesis in any way.

Abstract thinking and macro-gaming are not a very common skill in DBD players, at least the ones I've seen.
what is macro-gaming?

It's gonna be super OP for PC survivors, and not so much for console people like myself who get screwed by an unoptimized port and/or unresponsive controls for the skill checks. I can only dream of hitting great skill checks 90% of the time.
I actually just learned that skill checks on console have a considerable input delay. When I was hitting them on PC it felt super weird, which is frustrating because I had already learnt how to hit greats on console.

Hyperfocus's interactions with toolboxes and stakeout have worrying implications for the project W patch. I know it has been said, but I still see some people disagreeing somehow.
I, for one, have been really enjoying the diversity in killer builds since 6.1. My kill rates with more "creative" builds have steadily risen since the perk rework, and that is awesome. I am a pyramid head player. Before 6.1, I was running ruin/undying/discordance/pain resonance. Post 6.1, I've had the time to find success in games with stuff like STBFL/dissolution/I'm all ears, and then throw in something like lethal pursuer just because it is good. Enduring/sprit fury, blood favor, crowd control, dissolution, even distressing/coulrophobia. These are all perks I've been able to experiment with WITHOUT having all gens done in 3 minutes post 6.1.
Now I know there are some killers out there who went from pain res/dms/corrupt/ruin straight over to call of brine/overcharge/eruption/pain res. But if hyperfocus becomes a problem like I predict it will, the creative build loving killers like me might be forced to load up the full regression builds again. And I don't want that.
My two cents on the discussion about the perk is that it won't make much of a change. It will be a treat to sweat squads, sure, but for everyone else it won't be that appealing, your average joe will look at the perk, use it for the adept and maybe a meme build here and there and forget about it like the other 90% of perks on the survivor side. It's not a particularly easy perk to use too, so baby bully squads will probably glance over it.

It's an unfortunate necessity
If pig or ghostface had a bug like this I'd be sad but accept it, same when clown got put in prison for having extremely potent antidote
The Sadako society (all 3 of us members of it) pledge not to abuse this bug until it is fixed.

If anything the recent patches prove the devs are upping their game, even if they still make dumb mistakes. Remember when we got a patch were the only significant change was removing bubba's alternative head cosmetics just about one year ago? Or how absolutely horrid Nemesis' and Twins' updates where? Now the devs are picking up pretty quickly on the complaints in the community, the latest dev update at least does an attempt at understanding the key issues the community had.
Comparing what we had a while back with the most recent patches the game is definetely heading in the right direction.
-
-
Holy ######### #########, grow some thick skin for once. The upcoming patch consists mostly of killer buffs as well except for the meagre 5 extra seconds of endurance.
-
At this point I have almost completely stopped playing survivor so I am not sure how I would fare in the current meta, but I think I am a pretty decent killer. Not a SWF stomper by any means but I have no trouble against most teams.

Ive only played 5 matches with her with the wonderfull build of mad grit and agitation cause I dont have the 3rd and 4th perk slots quite yet. But Ive had either a DC or a suicide in 4 of those matches. I thought sadako was a fairly well liked character. Am I just getting unlucky with the lobbies or do people hate going against her for some reason.
They just can't handle the Sadako style.
-
Midwich, small and locating gens can be a pain. Plus it's really good for most killers, especially now that the hold W strategy has been diminished in it's effectiveness.
-
Me seeing the hundredth "your side OP because youtuber has a million winstreak" post of the week
-
I really don't get the complaints with hug tech blights. It adds an extra level of complexity to playing both as and against him.
-
Yeah, me getting Haddonfield 6 times in a row while playing blight, a killer I barely play, can't be coincidence.
-
Good luck.

I am pissing and shitting myself, how could BHVR completely forget about one of the most iconic lines in all of gaming history. The moment when Chris confronts him, and then he says his iconic line:
"STAND BACK EXCELLA, I'M GONNA WESK"
And then he Wesks the uroboros all over Chris and Sheva. Truly a moment of videogames.

Why pick her when Dredge does the same thing, just infinitely better?
People that found Sadakos concept fun are most likely currently playing Dredge, because, unlike her, it has much less restrictions on its teleport ability and an actually usable chase ability.

Pinhead would like a word. Yes I agree Hag is awful in solo queue, however I'd argue Pinhead is just as bad. In solo queue you have to assume whether or not someone is going for the box. More often than not, if you aren't going for the box no one is going for the box. So the options against Pinhead becomes, you have the box, you deal with chain hunts, or Pinhead has the box. That is straight up awful and annoying. Maybe it's only my experience against Pinhead in solo queue, but I'd rather face Hag than Pinhead any day of the week if I'm in solo queue.
Pinhead is not too bad if you decide to be the box jockey. Once you learn the appropriate times to get rid of the box going against him become much easier.

Old Mettel of Men.
Legit third health state, no dilly-dallying or beating around the bush.
To be fair you could kind of play around it if you had some sort of good M2 or instadown, not to say it wasn't broken but it wasn't as bad as OG DS. That ######### was absolutely busted and had some of the dumbest counterplay known to man.
-
He should have an ability similar to Wesker's lab photo that allows him to chomp down pallets and breakable walls when on TIII without losing distance.

Never, fun is illegal in DBD. Now go enjoy a very fun game of Hillbilly on Garden of Pain.

Reassurance - you serious? This will be the best anti-camping perk in the game.
Off the Record - New better DS. Nothing to complain about here.
Dead Hard - It's much stronger in right hands but also useless in some situations.
Off the record is far from being a better DS.
-
It depends on how bad I am losing and the loop density around the hooked survivor. In an average game I won't even bother.
-
@jesterkind said:
I'm not sure why you would compare those two, considering they don't play all that similarly whatsoever?
Nemesis is an anti-loop killer, and Wesker is actively shut down by looping around dropped pallets, they play pretty significantly differently to one another. Wesker definitely doesn't have better anti-loop because he doesn't have any anti-loop, not in a way that's useful outside of very specific structures.
Basically all they have in common is an infection mechanic, which means we should be including Plague in this comparison chat lol
True, I think I am trying to compare Nemesis with him because they come from the same game. My real issue then is how accurate DBD Wesker feels to his RE5 counterpart compared to Nemesis, the comparison between both is abysmal. Wesker got both his hyper speed and uroboros mechanics implemented way better than whatever they were trying to do with Nemesis.
-
That map is buggy as hell on top of being a disaster. Had a game the other day were two survivors abused an stop where they couldn't be picked up.
