  • The only issue I'm having on console is the issue with Surveillance which has been reported many times even by me and still nothing has been done about it.

when the gens reach zero regression on their own, they're not supposed to turn yellow as if a survivor has stopped them.

and before I'm told to move something like that to bug reports it's there already

  • When I thank anyone especially killers I only crouch twice with a slight break in between. I don't do it in the middle of a chase, or after a pallet stun or a DS hit. I do it at the exit gate and then leave.

We as players all know that the majority of the time it's meant to insult and upset another player. Any excuse we come up with for doing it is just that an excuse.

  • It's, bitching! It's complaining! no look it's Sluzzy!

    faster then a huntress hatchet.

more annoying then then the doctors laugh

able to Piss off half the community in a single post.

    🤣

  • I have Pig, Freddy and Michael. on PC I have trapper too.

Michael was by far the hardest for me to get at this point.

I'll been trying to get Pyramid head but it's been quite annoying. I'll get the adepts when I get them. It would be far better if they had it as a 4K with a killer with the 3 perks. but they changed that with the emblem system

  • I play on console mostly. I have a PS5 so I don't have any of the framerate issues that so many complain about. however I do know when I'm outmatched because someone is on PC. This happens especially when I play killer. The moments survivors make are insane and you can tell they can't be done with a controller. The one thing I wish they would change would be to even out movement speeds with console and PC. it's very easy to tell when you're being outplayed because of the platform you're playing on.

  • It's streamers and the lack of good stable competition. DBD is the only game of it's kind out there right now so it's doing great.

The licensed characters help too of course it's cool being able to play as some Iconic killers and survivors.

  • I don't see a problem with it. it fits nemesis pretty well. also it's a counter to the shrouds people play to all start all together.

it also has a lot of good perk synergy.

I understand the dislike for it don't get me wrong, but having tried nemesis it really only gives you a idea of how the team starts the game.

  • I'd like to see some Amanda lore. next to the legion she's the most human killer in the game. I'd like to see what brought her here and what she thinks about being stuck in the realm.

  • I'm about to 3-50 him too

  • Michael Myers

    last week.

    it doesn't.

Some addons are just one of their kind.

Some addons on one killer give 1% increase by "slightly", others give 4,5 (9% previously) by "slightly'

Not even talking about 'moderately' or tremendously, these are so vague that it's pointless.

this right here. I would just like to what the add on actually does. not just an idea

I’m gonna be honest only really petty players are going to report you for using certain perks, downing survivors, or playing certain killers. What a lot of people are going to report for is camping and tunneling for obvious reasons

The only time I've ever reported players is when I know they're doing something to cheat or break game rules. I don't report when I've had a bad game.

  • I could see a lot of abuse of an auto ban feature

no, actually a friend of mine suggested at killer perk that put you into the broken state if you were hit when all the gens were done. and I though hey what if NOED did that?

  • or you could just leave them alone

I feel if you survive better than the rest then you deserve a reward befitting your effort. For me they have to survive the other ones and outplay me multiple times ( that may sound hard buuuut play me once and you'll see it aint) then you get hatch and if u wanna ill let you smash a couple pallets over me (had a couple survs who had a challenge for that and I let them complete it). Not a bad reward for such good survs if you ask me.

that's fine. but the ghost face in question did this while I was still alive and was actively blocking gens so I couldn't help fix them. and this person that "outplayed them" they had many chances to hook them, they chased them and did nothing. they even led the other person a a gen I was working on and forced me off of it so they could finish it by themselves.

that's not being outplayed that survivor teaming.

  • @PureDoctorMain said:

I like to give survivors who genuinely out play me more than once hatch if I can. But I guess thats more of a personal thing.

Well at least your rule isn't "If you outplay me I will let you finish the last 3 gens by yourself and actively block the other survivor from helping you then kill them and let you out the exit gate"

I had that happen in a game against a ghost face once. they even admitted that's what they were doing. good thing I recorded that :)

  • for me it would be Wraith, Plague and Doctor

  • don't forget there are 4 separate versions of coldwin farm and Autohaven.

  • they'll deal with things like that when they start dealing with cheaters that claim they can't because of EAC or that they're on a console and are clearly. lying.

I do what I can when I can catch it but it seems to be getting worse right now. no matter what side of the game you play.

  • The issue is more the fact that they don't really work until there is more then one of them. Plus with the slight sound Dsync with what's happening in front of you they don't help all the time. I find flying crows hard to spot honestly. I use my ears to track survivors and a lot of the time not even that works.

Yea, I had few games with them but everytime I went into their stream after the match to say GG and drop them a follow, they were still in the middle of shittalking me. Im not saying all of TTVs are like that but many are and I stopped playing vs them altogether

some friends and I went up against a rank 1 TTV killer. we didn't realize it until after the game though. 2 of us got out because we found a key. we went to check them out after. They spent 30 minutes complaining that Plunderers instinct was BS and that keys were BS. Saying things like if we didn't find that key we would have been dead and that he should have killed us ect.

  • yeah it's not like the rank 18 killer VS Rank 8 and 10 survivors like I get put up against most of the time. It doesn't matter what time of day it is. the matches I get are always a crap shoot and 9 times out of 10 I get stomped. I still try to have fun the best I can.

  • @Gaffy said:

Every second game is either a 3 or 4 man console/pc who sends me to autoheaven or coldwind. No matter what I actually try to do to defend gens everything just gets done anyway and my experience or skill just doesn't matter. Why should I ever leave hooks if I get nothing from it other than lost pressure and time wasted. I'm about to just start running franklins/noed/lightborn every game because I'm so tired of getting nothing done and being ridiculed in the exit gates or end game chat by people who clearly didn't deserve to escape and were just saved by gen speeds and dead hard. When do killers get a perk that just reverses their mistakes during chase, because that's all dead hard is, just a free health state with zero counterplay followed by a pallet stun and tbag. Nearly 1.5k hours and it means nothing because it literally just depends if I bring the right perks or not. You can't bring anything that isn't meta/3 slowdown perks or you lose. I love how half of my build has to be dedicated to just making the game longer and not by 5 minutes. I'm also considering deranking so I can finally have "fun" again but I doubt that would accomplish anything because the ranking system would just pair me with these squads again anyway.

The game itself is getting pretty rough on both survivor and killer sides since the rank reset was so messy it feel like no matter what side you play on there are game issues and people just trying way too damn hard

  • I think the game needs to be torn down and rebuilt. or at least shut down for a bit for maintenance. The game is coming apart at the seems right now and cheating and lag switching is running rampant. The balance is way off too.

I know it really doesn't address the solo que issue. but it's crazy. Things keep breaking emblems, hit boxes, stuns you name it.

  • My first impressions were, it's cool but the maps seemed boring not to mention all killers did was put you on a hook and died that way.

It was no Friday the 13th. Curse that rights dispute for killing it too quickly.

Later on I felt the maps got more interesting. I don't like the loop running idea of the game. I much prefer hiding but the game doesn't let you do that. I understand why don't get me wrong it would drag games out too damn long and the game isn't built like that so I accept it. Those other games are structured in the fact that if you were caught you were dead. not if you're caught you have to be downed and then carried to a hook placed at random spots throughout the map.

Now I think the game can be fun but it feels like it could use a little more variety in many areas. too many to name.

I agree. I just miss the few fun interactions I had on PC. I played against a Michael once. and I just yelled his name in end game chat. The response *tilts head*

I also went up a killer named Rusty Shackleford. My response "Well Played Dale" and they said "At least someone gets it"

I miss the little interactions like those. The trash talk I can do without.

I'd recommend to get tips from videos for killers. Remember that your not gonna win every game and that's fine! Pick up your bearings from that game and head to the next one with a mind set of, I got this. Maybe you should switch up your killer too or just a brake even. There's options all around.

That's a really good piece of advice. I don't play killer to win every game and sometimes I do and sometimes I don't. I get how frustrating it can be. But I keep at it sometimes if one roll frustrates me I switch to the other one. If they both annoy me I take a break.

    @Altarf said:

I don't think I've ever received hatemail from a killer player on PS4. Pages upon pages upon pages of hatemail from survivors, (none of which is warranted, I don't play sweaty or scummy) but never one rude word from a killer. And I play both sides equally.

Killer is a lot more fun when the survivors have empathy and see you as an actual player than Toxic Noob Baby Killer #23. I just play for those matches, rather than the ones with the P3 Claudettes and Noob3 Neas.

You're right. when I play survivor I sometimes send messages out of frustration. However most of the time it's just for some interaction.

The other day I was playing Jeff and we were up against a legion. I sent them a message that the group could keep our bands van but could they at least return the weed? just got a stupid response.

Oh but as killer. I get messages all the time from people just laughing and calling me trash. and I've even gotten GGEZ from people. It would be so much easier if the console version had an endgame chat but yeah the majority of the ######### talking comes from survivors in my experience I've done it done it too sometimes.

  • He throws knives/kuni at people. and you can hit them enough to put them into a damaged or dying state. If you play it right and combine it with his base attack he can have some interesting takedowns. His main event is bad but he's still fun to play.

we can read, a lot just choose not to rise to poor bait attempts like yours.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/250619/there-are-no-topics-about-survivors-admitting-things-are-issues-on-their-end

I hate myself so I'm going to go through all of these points one by one.

Old DS used to be overpowered. the nerf has toned it down. (not including original DS)

You said it yourself, it's been substantially toned down and it's in a good spot right now.

Dead hard is pretty much a third health state, not many survivor players will admit this but that's what it's used for.

Dead Hard being used a third health state isn't the issue. Doing so is incredibly inconsistent and a lot of the time will buy you simple seconds. The primary use is for loop extending without much counter which, I admit, pretty bullshit to deal with. However if a survivor is using Dead Hard to dodge a hit like a third health state, they're doing an exceptional job at predicting or the servers just liked them that day.

The end gamer collapse is pointless since survivors just wait out the timer at the exit gate just to teabag the killer.

The existence of the EGC is to prevent hostage situations and ensure the game can end. It was never meant for lethality, and the devs have confirmed as much many times. It works as intended and does it's job well.

survivors do things for the single goal of just annoying the killer and have no respect for the other person that's controlling them.(yes this goes both ways for killers too.)

People will be dicks, I guess. It sucks but that's what being anonymous does to people :/

99% exit gates are far too common when no one is on a hook. This can actually get teammates killed because the killer is after them and they're running toward a closed gate that could be open.

The timer itself can severely limit time for making plays and resetting, however. 99'ing gates is the smarter move and prevents situations where you could've rescued a teammate if you had just a bit more time. The cases where 99'ing has gotten someone killed are substantially less than the cases where pre-opening has forced the team to sacrifice a mate for a 3man escape. The benefits outweigh the risks.

The game already has things built into it at the survivors advantage. The sound mix is so bad that certain sounds overpower other ones. Fire barrels are louder then gens and sound very similar, gens are louder then survivors grunts of pain.

This one I agree to. The sound design and sound effects are amazing, the implementation leaves much to be desired. There's still the issue of slugs making little to no noise, which can be pretty frustrating. However, in the same vein as this, some terror radius (hey slinger yes i mean you) are also drowned out by everything. Mostly a survivor issue but certain killers aren't immune from it too.

the sound lags behind the action being taken. you can take off from a gen and the killer will still here the sounds of it being worked on for a second and you're long gone.

I've never heard of this happening, nor had it happen to me in approxinately 3.1k hours of playtime. Probably a bug, or someone's connection was being very dodgy.

when a gen is finished the bubble that comes up blinds a killer and they can't see you leave even if they're right in front of it.

Same goes for the scream when someone is hooked, you can't see the killer coming towards you. That's more an issue both sides face.

There are 100% safe loops for survivors if you keep the pace up and don't make any mistakes.

This one I'll agree to. Some loops, such as Suffocation Pit's good window, Storehouse's main building, Saloon (depending on how they run it), all of Gideon, Preschool, etc are really strong and could probably do with toning down. Imo they need to make loops better than those on Hawkins, Midwich, or the centre of Badham, but not as strong as the low-wall loops on Macmillan or Autohaven.

All killer actions have a cooldown with perks to compensate. missed attack= cooldown. Hit=cooldown. pallet break=animation lock. survivors can pretty much stop doing anything and run with no delay and are protected during some animations.

And how would you suggest changing this without uprooting the very precariously placed balance we currently have in place? If you gave a 0.3s cooldown after doing something into a run it would change the entirety of DBD, for example.

survivors can unhook form any side of the hook; front, left or right. the killer can only hook from the front and at a set distance. This allows survivors to body block and prevent a hook killers can not prevent an unhook at all.

Bodyblocking has been confirmed as a legitimate strategy by BHVR, provided it isn't done for a hostage situation. There already exists a hook vacuum in the game provided the space in front of it is empty. Also, omni-directional unhooks was implemented to prevent proper facecamping, where the killer could stand in a way to prevent the Unhook prompt appearing. I fail to see how this is an issue on the survivor end.

Add Borrowed time to that and there's no chance.

It'd be nice if BT gave the unhooked survivor no collision so I can go after the unhooker like I really want to, but asides from that I don't think it's too much of an issue. Very strong perk, yes, but also with the amount of killers who have decided that overcommiting to a chase, being looped for 4 gens instead of chasing any of the other 3, very obviously weaker survivors, is a good idea and will then camp out of spite, it's a necessary evil imo.

Survivors can also move in a way that throws off the games very bad aim dressing. The killer swings and you move one step to the side and the game thinks they were aiming at the rock next to you. that's a huge miss.

Aim dressing is only really an issue when ping goes wonky for half a second or you've decided to, for some reason, play Nurse from my experience. It's not as awful as you're making it out to be.

So when we play survivors we need to realize that we are more powerful then we give ourselves credit for. If people truly want to balance the game we should look at both sides not just how killers are too powerful and need to be nerfed to make survivor games easier.

If we want to balance the game, we don't need to point blank nerf survivors. We need to buff solo queue to 4man on comms standard, buff killers and their mechanics to compensate, and if further action should be taken continue to buff killers or nerf survivors. However, no killer buff or survivor nerf that's too drastic can be taken when solo queue exists in the shambles it currently is.

Alas, as shown in the most recent changes to Small Game, BHVR really don't care about solo queue.

And to those who only play one side of the game, Try the other one. sure you may not be as good on that side but you will have a far better idea of happens on that end. I used to be the same "Killers are OP" "killers suck" then I started playing as them and realized that they really aren't as powerful as they appear especially against a well coordinated team.

    This.

This one I can agree to, completely wholeheartedly.

I used to be a hardcore survivor main, and I think a lot of my opinions on the game's balance still favour survivors somewhat (though usually I argue from a perspective of fun nowadays). I used to think NOED was a crutch for bad killers (still do ngl), Ruin was/is a crutch, existing on the map is a crutch, DS was fine, as was DH, old BT, and killers that complained were just crybabies. Then I actually started playing killer and my opinions shifted. Currently main killer but that's literally because survivor isn't fun rn else I'd still be a 60/40 player.

But yeah, play both sides. At high ranks. I implore people.

That is a fair response. I wasn't trying to rant or start fights I agree with a fair amount of your points. there are a few that I don't but that's how discussions go.

Outside of that, I've been regularly hitting 28-31k on other games as well.

you might be able to do that but it feels to me like I'm getting less points for the same amount of work I've always done in a match. I've had 3 gold and one iri emblem after a game and I'm still only just over 10K in total points. sometimes below it.

  • One of the things I would like back is the ability to switch between survivor and killer without having to back all they way out to the main menu.

you used to be able to do that. I understand that at that point the killer was the game but it honestly felt better then having to back out of a selection screen just to go right back into the same one just for the other side.

    Very strange indeed

And emblem system with pips is even stranger.

Had some survivor games yesterday. 10k points safety pip, 16k -1 pip, 22k double pip, 28k +1 pip and so on.

I never played when pips were based on BP earned in the game but wasn't that better than current emblems?

I did play a bit when pips were based on blood points in game. They changed it soon after I started. The one negative with that was that I'd play on teams that would steal all the blood points away for actions because they "Have to keep their rank" With that style you would have some people doing everything and not allowing others to do anything meaning people barely got any points or rank progression.

The emblem system helps with that but but it came with it's own drawbacks such as having to figure out what actions went toward which emblem. Now with all the glitches and "Broken Emblems" that don't add up properly it's annoying in a different way.

  • no it's not bugged, I finished it no problem. However that could have changed with their latest bug fix. (irony alert)

Nuff said, take some of the difficulty on killer and put it on survivors. Make them the ones who have to struggle and try harder. make killer still take skill (unlike survivor), but make it harder to be a survivor and actually have to try as a team to win.

I agree with this but I don't see it happening. I'm just tired of hearing people complain about how OP killers are and how unfair the games are when in reality survivors are powerful in a different way that makes the game annoying for killers. Survivors in some cases are given a lot of hidden advantages that killers don't have.

I've had games where I hear a gen being worked on and There's no one there because they're already long gone.

the sounds don't sync up with the actual actions.

not to mention the sound mix is so bad that fire barrales blend in with gen sounds. there are a lot of things that are built into the game to make it easier on survivors. any issues with the game have been addressed with perks.
