  • Considering the skins they released, it doesn't seem to be planned.
Just look at the clown's extra outfit that you can see from the opposite of the map and through most cracks in the walls (which is an actual huge debuff), along with Hag green bright skins and such.

Devs probably do not realize being hard to see needs to be a factor when doing skins.

  • If you call me a PC snobb (even tho I'm not), I'll just call you a console peasant.
That's just fairness right there tho.

    Just sayin'.
In any case, it sounds like a bait thread more than anything else. Complaining toward a small part of a population while not trying to adress anything won't do anything whatsoever.
I could create a thread saying "Nea's players are toxic", what would it even change ?

  • Sloppy butcher will be decent against people using self-care extensively to make them overly safe.
Which is a good change overall because it will make SC to be costy to these players, rather than a free way to safety.

  • Not sure what you expected from this game.

This game is about memes and taunting for the most part. Fairplay and competitivity is not part of the vocabulary except from very few decent folks that you may get surprised to encounter at times.

It's mostly not (only) pêople's fault. It's also a dev's will for the game to stay to a meme level.
I just talk to devs on a daily basis, and they're just HUGE memers.

  • imo it's random.
    As simple as that.

I didn't notice any consistency, even tho at some point I Played 4 full months of killer only.

  • Trapper.

Others are just either cute or annoying to me.

  • Throw a "gg wp" and leave is the solution.
Don't allow people to spill their salt on you.

  • Showing survivor's name also promotes non-grieffing.
"Taking revenge" can also be karma for being an offender.
It also can make people to dodge players they do not want to play against again (mostly because of a grief)

The "revenge" factor does not come from nowhere is what I actually say.

I just liked the consistent 32 meters more.
Now they're turning a strategic perk into a finding perk, which is weird.

Tho I suppose it will make casuals Happy, as they do not like perks that are not super straightforward.

exactly my point thats the issue. at least at 32 meters i could track the whole area till i find them. now its every 8 meters yeah more time consuming and a chore. if they do make the perk like this people will realise this is a nerf and probably not like it. more than likely hate it lol ..... butchering the perk pretty good job so far

My main issue about this change is pretty simple : they are changing a perk that is already good and balanced, while more than half of the perks could use a rework.

The reason is simple : the top tier killers do have more possibility than other killers, and they're not bound to the simple gameplay of chasing survivors 1 by 1 and hoping everything goes good for them.

I can understand that, but the conditions of these perks prevent lowest tier killers to use them...

Take Pop Goes the Weasel for example. If you rework this perk so that: it applies the effect to the first gen you kick after a hook, but unlimited duration, everyone would have an use of this perk. Make your Choice is godlike on Hag, but really, really situational on other killers (they have to make it back to the hook, and find the proper survivor). If they buff this perk so that every survivor outside a 32m radius of you are exposed, this perk will already be way more flexible.

Like, I can understand perks aren't meant to have a synergy with every single killer. But when potential great perks are only really usable by the top-tier killers...

Do you mean actual killer perk buffs ?
    That's cute.

    But not happening.

  • The reason is simple : the top tier killers do have more possibility than other killers, and they're not bound to the simple gameplay of chasing survivors 1 by 1 and hoping everything goes good for them.

  • Being able to apply bright yellow skins to survivors while not being flagged by anticheat would be weird.

I saw a Huntress : 1 kill by camping when exit gates were opened
I saw a LF: 1 kill by camping when exit gates were opened

Sorry. I think it's entirely on the Survivors at this point to stop rewarding the behavior. If they wouldn't feed the Camper, it wouldn't be justified to do it anymore except situationally. If I as a Killer can expect 1-3 Survivors to crouch around and wait while I'm camping their teammate, I'm going to do it. That relieves pressure on me and puts more pressure on them once their teammate dies. If they do not do this, and instead do generators, that puts all the pressure on the Killer.

Survivors are the ones rewarding Killers for doing this. It doesn't need fixing, Survivors just need to stop feeding the hook. Plain and simple. If they feel it's necessary to YOLO save someone, or crouch around the hook area for the entirety of the death, that is 100% on them. Noone can fix stupid, and that's what a Camping Fix would have to do. It would have to fix the idiots who waste time trying to be a super hero instead of doing generators.

If you change anything about the hook with regards to Camping, it puts even more pressure on the Killers because they've now lost a tool in their arsenal. It won't be campers, it'll be 100% slug games. Then once everyone is on the ground, Deerstalker over and hook them all. Killer gets a 4k with all their hook stages.

If you're getting camped, help your team out and struggle the full timer. It happens to everyone. Once Killers are getting punished for Camping by the Survivors, and not some "fix", this strategy will stop being used. Until that time though, expect it to happen with every hook.

On a side note, this is why I stay around Rank 10. Most of the Survivors there are smart enough to take the wave-off hint and go do generators. I've seen Killers get punished hard for Camping, but not enough people are doing it properly. When that becomes a thing, and Killers are getting a depip with maybe 8k points, Camping will stop except as a situational strategy.

AGAIN THIS IDEA WAS IF THE GAME WAS BALANCED AND I SAID A CHANGE I WILL MAKE TO THIS IDEA IS IT TAKES NO AFFECT IF THE KILLER GETS INTO CHASES AS THAT'S THE SURVIVORS FAULT FOR STANDING NEAR THE HOOK. STOP HATING AND MAKE USEFUL SUGGESTIONS

With "ifs", you could put Paris in a bottle.

man its forum, i was just making a fun idea for a scenario, i didn't expect it to blow up and i didn't expect to get so much hate for it.

Dude, do I have to remind you, that you created a thread about camping ? Not to mention it's a suggestion that have been asked, tested and rejected several times ?

I wanted 2 things from this post, people to actually improve the anti camping idea rather than doing what the devs did early on in the games life and just make a rushed change that didn't work. Please don't lose hope on a fix because all we need is a group effort to think of a way it could work. I also wanted people's advice on how to improve it, not people telling me i'm #########.

The fix is already in game. They increased the hook time.
Just look at yesterday's tournament if you're not convinced that survivors are just plain broken against most killers.

    Message for the Devs.

I'm sure you are aware it goes without saying but right now at least 2/3's of your community is upset with the lack of console updates, already talking about the mid content patch when consoles have yet to receive the patch to start, PC only tournaments ect ect.

I got it, you can't speed up the certification process. Here is what you could do however. Implement a temporary patch that removes the bloodpoint and iridescent shard caps for the console users only. Give us something back by allowing us to earn enough bloodpoints while waiting for the real patch so that when it does come out we can at least try to get the clown and Kate leveled up to the point where PC players are.

You can do that, it is the right thing to do, please do it.

Not sure where you got your numbers.
I'm pretty sure 2/3 of the community of dbd console is just casuals that just play the game for fun and are silent in here, while a minority is impatient and going apeshit about an update that will come in due time whatever they try to say.

Mostly because I don't want to invest in survivors anymore.

  • @guest602 @Lowbei It was in the old meta (notice the pink perks) where people where focusing on doing hooks (without respawns) so you had no choice but to slug.
The fun part is that the respawning hooks are mostly due to survivors complaining about either getting insta-basement'ed due to IG/Agi, or because of the "slow slugging death" that were too long for their taste.

  • Here's the change I'd like for Hex : Ruin :

Keep the skillcheck part the same.
Improve the totem placements (already in progress)
Add a buff/debuff function. The totem destructor would acquire a 30% repair speed buff. The others would get a -10% repair speed debuff.

What would it actually change :

    • An actual competition to destroy it, which means people would actually move around the map more to hunt for it.
    • Being forced not to be spotted when you break it, unlike you want to risk to get killed, which would force you to be stealthy and sneaky as you break it or you would just penalize your teammates.

Aka the "SB" nerf, that is more of an exhaustion nerf, that is not adressing the issues of sprint burst a single bit, and giving a penalty to all exhaustion perks even when it's not deserved.

With Sprint Burst, it won't refresh while you're in a chase. So if they can loop you for what, 40 seconds, they won't get another burst to continue the chase. While ambushes might still get left behind with sharp-eyed survivors, I think it will still have an effect on continuing to evade the killer. It's at least a step in a good direction, right?

If you loop, you're sprinting, so the cooldown was actually closer to 80s, let's round it up to 70 due to the fact you stopped at some point.
Additionally, was it really necessary to apply it to all perks ?

They were not sure about the exhaustion for the other perks.
So this might not make it into the final version. But for SB, that´s a good step in the right direction.

I wouldn't call it a step in the right direction, I'd very sideways, trying to nerf blindly without understanding and adressing the issue that SB is causing.
The current "nerf" will not stop the Ambush free dodge, the last second Wraith dodge, the SB dodging hits and chainsaws at last seconds, the "I gtfo instantly after getting unhooked", the "I repair until the last second, then SB away to the nearest safe spot", along with other issues.

The only thing it does is nullifying the fact it's coming back in chases (which was a decent reward for the survivor, and usually allowed him to escape, since if you didn't manage to catch him in due time, he probably die really well), and possibly make it so they use it less often overall (which is decent, but not very consistent)

I don't think people read where i said this nerf would be ideal in a future where the roles of survivors and killers are balanced, and not in the game in its current state.

That ideal future isn't happening before 2-3 years of patches, when the game will very likely be deserted.
I mean, just to implement a very few changes to DS, it's gonna take a whole 1 year and 9 months~
I doubt making plans for the "future" is a great thing in this game, unless you plan a long term relationship.
