Sturdy Rope: A rope that has resisted the pass of time, just as tight as its first day. The chainsaw is tied to a rope, making the attacks an area of effect of 8m around the killer. Hitting objects does not reset the chainsaw attack.

I remember reading that post a while ago. Nice post, people can take some things away from it Though this is an incredibly contradictory statement & makes me doubt if the poster is actually what they said they are:You can’t control that, or change them, so accept it as a certainty. Try not to read into why they do things - accept them for what they are – like an Evil Dwight. There are evil survivors that just want to loop: accept them as evil loopers and rationalize their gameplay style as an effective one, and rationalize over a new strategy. If the strategy fails, the strategy fails, not you.
You can't say other someone & describe them as "evil" (which is very black & white and VERY othering) and also rationalize their effective gameplay in one breath.
"Evil Dwight" is a meme. It doesn't truly mean "Evil", just check it out on google. There's a steam guide about it.
In any case, a decent read, as a psychologist myself, too.
As a matter of fact tho, it's not entirely right. You can also lose due to yourself, not solely to the strategy. Rationalizing through lies won't help you to get through things, especially if you're very aware that you're part of your own failure.
My advices are pretty simple :
- Play according to your mood.
- When things are turning badly and you get overly emotional (Aka raging after not being able to catch a survivor, failing an earned hit, failing a chainsaw, and such), stay calm and do the best thing you should do in that situation. I personally loved to play Huntress and her Lullaby in that regards, which helps a lot to re-focus on the game itself rather than on your emotions.
- Don't let the addiction get to you when you feel stressed. Even tho there's not definite rule about this, the way to go is usually the following : if you hesitate to stop, you probably should.
- Don't forget that quitting is an option. Not to be abused, obviously, but if you feel like stopping the game, you should definitely do so.

If you "somewhat" make signs that you want to farm with the Survivors, but then still chase them down and hook them. Do you honestly expect any Survivor to trust your motive?I'm asking this because the last Killer got unbelievably mad at us for not farming with him (he played a Bloody Party Streamer) after he did just that.
I'm generally wary of such Killers and ignore them, seems my team mates did the same.
I just repair and exit, as survivor, whatever the killer wants.
I farm at times when the round is getting funny/trivial somehow. -
He's really good.
I'd give him a way to have slightly more map pressure tho if I could.
His current power for chases is definitely fine and really strong. -
Since the last time that question was asking, nothing changed :
Billy, still the most fun killer in the game. -
Source : dude, trust me.
Hope you guys still get that DLC quickly tho.
-
Devs actually wants to do the opposite : they want to give the same advantage, overall, to solo players compared to SWF players. They stated several times they wanted to reduce the gap between these two, mostly by boosting solo player's perception.
-
The blood stains on skins part have been asked, and community managers already answered it's not gonna happen, sadly.
I'd still tell you to use the prestige outfit as they're harder to spot in general overall tho, but that's true, apart from a few better items in bloodwebs, prestiging has lot a lot of its point.

I can't believe there's a thread recommending camping and giving advice on how to do it. Unless there are people around the hook, camping makes it harder. I'm a killer main and i never understand why other killers think like this. Play fun, well and fair, not boringly, badly, and unfairly."Fun and fair" is very subjective.
Let people play however they want as long as they do not spew toxicity and abuses. -
It's simple. Other survivors did not get their part of fun in this round, so they'll try to force it out of you.
Worst case, instead of calling what they did "bad plays", they can just blame it on you and insult you to try to make you to feel bad about what you did.In any case, for some reasons, people oftenly prefers to die running around rather than escape when they can.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B14yD9UZ20M&feature=youtu.beThe rule is pretty simple : always keep a bait in a match if you can, at all times. That's how you freely win rounds as killer. And yes, they're stupid.

Sick of waiting ?
Dude, you're definitely playing the wrong game then. This game is all about "wait until next patch to get a better game" since day 1.
It gets better tho, baby steps are taken, slooowly. -

The gist I have gotten from mods(Peanits)....is that any and all things that alter/create game files are subject to scrutiny. If you do such things and you break your game, get blocked, banned, or whatever....you did so at your own risk, and they WILL NOT HELP YOU.
Those survivors abusing this is still playing, so why are they not banned in this case?
The devs could have easily fixed this by limiting the input like they did with Wiggle so it has a max threshold, this wouldn't be hard to implement at all
@Outland said:
Macros have always been considered bannable. As far as I know. This was asked in Reddit with majority of people saying its not bannable and is a game mechanic
Reddit is full of survivor mains tho. (Who would have guessed, with the majority deciding what goes up/down in a 4v1 game)
Just sayin' -

Hey look at it a different way, by the time we get used to the new content when it comes out another killer and stuff will be right around the corner. If that was only true...
The next mid-chapter patch is probably in 4 weeks or so. We're far from there. -
There's nothing you can do atm but report with the in-game report system.
Even mods themselves told me they were very frustrated about this. They were supposed to make a new report system. They told us so 2 months ago that is. We're still waiting.
As usual, the word of the day is :
SoonTM.And guess who's dealing with the pile of ######### in the meantime ? Actual players of the game, as usual.
-
Not sure how it is stupid.
The big difference is that it will FORCE the obsession to take hits in order to slow down the killer, which will put the obsession in danger in some manners, which is... A nice feature, for once. -
From what I've understood :
you can stun the killer in place, but you do not drop. I don't think the killer will be able to turn or adjust his vision. -

I think exactly what I typed above.
No more, no less.Aka, all 3 are cheesy.
SWF with BNPs got extra cheese on top of their cheese to, similarly to a 4 cheese pizza.

Good luck. I still use these drivers, and they work fine on all the games I play so far.
And yes, the sliders are awesome. It's actually the same script than reshade. Reshade creator got hired by Nvidia.
-
Artefact of the old times, where devs though it was a great idea to give it to killers because it could possibly make killers harder to see (but it mostly make the SURVIVORS harder to see, for obvious reasons)
The fog used to be great when stacked to make traps to be hard to see tho.
Now that they reworked it, it is pretty much a survivor only advantage. -

Confirmed, works perfect in WoW. DBD specific error. I HATE old drivers@I told you, you need older drivers.
The recent drivers bugged it on most new games.
390.77 is the newest version to know to work with Dbd/PUBG and such before it went buggy. (maybe it was on purpose tho.) -
It's probably only for consoles.
We all know they hate console players (because... reasons) so they give them less rituals. That's why you won't get the DLC anytime soon. -
Doubt it will be ever happening for 1 reason :
They actually nerfed Thrill of the hunt back then "because it was too strong and made totems too long to clean".Yeah.
Obliviousness, once again.
Not to mention, these were the old totem placements when the nerf occured:

It's in the rules. So it's bannable, yes.
Now, to prove it is hard, unless someone truly admits it. -
My though is pretty simple.
You should buy pidgeon poop wraith skin (aka Candle Wraith) and get ready to get shat on while you climb the ladder. On a more serious note, I personally use :
Ruin, Enduring, Brutal Strength & NOED.He's a pretty basic killer that needs so much things to be viable it hurts, hence, the basic build.

Even tho I understand what you say, I'll tell you one thing :
Don't ask for an aim assist to these devs. Unless you like hitting walls and windows. Because the last time they did try to get us one in game, this is what actually happened.
The current "auto-aim" is already very discutable in that regard :
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=thaP5Gecj-II think the origin of this 'auto-aim' is the grab function. The survivor is clearly injured and the game seemed to want and go for a grab instead of a hit. I have this issue too sometimes. Maybe if we bring attention to it a little more they can look at how the grabbing mechanic can be tweaked to prevent this. But this doesn't really have to do with the aiming of the hit.
It has been reported to devs.
It's either a grab issue, or a hit detection issue.
The hit detection in any case is rather faulty at the moment and they're working on it. The issue is well-known, and coming from the fact that the actual hit is delayed compared to the hit detection.
Basically, when you press a button, the game detects if there's a survivor around, or not. If it does, it locks the camera on it (to make it feel like you actually hit him, aka the chainsaw hit is the more visible about this when it comes to that camera shift), and 0,3s later, the hit happens.
If anything happened in that 0,3s frame that makes the survivor to be out of reach (aka sprint burst, a faulty bug like in the previous video, and such), then, you simply miss. -

I totally agree with all of this, even tho I mostly didn't get what it even means. They're pointing out bugs in the current version of the game. Most caused by new cosmetics clipping into the camera during certain animations causing the screen to be covered etc, some other bug report suggests the clown's bottle having a rocket-like smoke trail that goes straight across even though the bottle is thrown at a different angle, and so on. Pretty valid bug reports, but Google Translate ruined it all. This also belongs in the bug report forum.
The "rocket" clown bottle have been reported to devs already.
About the skins, details would be nice to have which skins are affected. (Why did this even go untested... It's not like it didn't happen back in the past)Oh no, the "QA team" did not playtest a thing before releasing a new update!
It's almost as if they don't have a QA team, just a bunch of money moochers slacking off at their jobs. Most of the bugs reported by OP would have been noticed right away by spending 5 minutes spamming random buttons as killer, but of course somehow the "QA" team didn't notice.
Are you trying to say that Jeff is slacking off?! I'll let you know he's a true memer and deserves the upmost respect.
He's not part of the QA team tho. Still a true hero!

I'm colorblind myself. I use a software to help it out.
It requires :
To have a Geforce type of card.
To install older Nvidia Drivers (390.77) and Nvidia Geforce Experience
To enable the Nvidia Overlay and the Nvidia Beta Features.Once you did that, you unlock an overlay allowing some graphic adjustments, called Nvidia Freestyle.
It includes some colorblind modes, along with some other stuff you might like.It is not bannable whatsoever and whitelisted, at the moment, so you can use this without risks.

This question has already been answered by @not_Queen.
The answer was something like this:
They are not thinking about it right now, because it would require doing additional designs. They want to spent their time on balancing the game.Source:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/5046/forum-q-a-june-18th-2018(The second question)
Very weird answer, since they also said on the other forum that the design team and the balancing team are mostly independant.
Tho I suppose the design time has to do a few animations for the future mecanics, so it may be true. Still... Weird ? -

Maybe I'm thinking about this wrong, but if I'm self caring myself from 0 to 100, and I'm at 50% healed or beyond when another survivor shows up, with the proposed self care changes, it's actually slower for me to stop and let them heal me than it is for me to just keep self caring myself? That seems as though it'd have a negative impact on the altruism emblem over all, which could be a problem.
Maybe include a brief grace period of a second or so before the self care heal vanishes?
So for one second my progress to the next health state stays at my self care percent. If during that 1 second grace period someone else starts healing me, my progress doesn't get removed and they heal me from where I left off (exactly as it is in game right now). If in that 1 second grace period I instead try to self care myself again, the previous self care status resets instead, and I'm starting from 0 once more?
You already mentioned you're planning to differentiate between self care healing and outside healing, so I assume this kind of thing could be possible?
Or is it intended as part of the self care nerf to encourage less altruism between survivors?
Just keep self-caring ?
Also "self-care" having a negative impact on altruism ? That sounds legitimate. You're SELF-CARING.
-
@chickenman12365 said:
Just the way i see it right now, you could be 90% healed and the killer could find you or someone could lead the killer to you. Having the progress reset to 0% wastes all that time you just put into healing, and if you try to finish before the killer hits you, then you're most likely getting hit again, if they're close enough, also resulting in you wasting that time. This is the whole point of the nerf. To make solo heal more unsafe than group heals. And also to make the killer to also make you waste your time healing yourself by dropping the chase, and coming back from another angle to force you to interrupt your self-care if you choose to use a strong juking spot to heal, instead of going to hide.
This is all intended, and fine features. At the moment, you can just force a killer to go through strong juking spots and heal yourself there if he doesn't follow, to make yourself relatively safe. Now it can eventually be wasting your time, so you'd have to stop hugging pallets and strong vaults, and go into some other place to heal yourself.
It's also a good way to stop people from healing in front of the killer, or to make bodyblocking into self-caring 20 meters away a "viable" alternative.Taking a hit shouldn't be trivial. And that nerf for SC would be entirely justified.
-
The incoming possible nerf is far from making the perk useless. It will even be probably still meta and the most used perk in game even post-nerf.

The reason they kept whispers in its state was because end game was SO broken. The thing is they're changing the endgame. It's the same reasoning for the changes to tinkerer, or brutal strength. By slightly reducing the effectivity of the perk, they can make it so it's bearable to play without it in the first place. BS is less effective than it was, yes, but now you don't have to run it. It's still useful, it is and was a good perk, and maybe it didn't need a rework at the time, but the change was a huge QOL difference for killers in general. With the tinkerer change add-ons will simply be faster as a base effect. They couldn't do this before because tinkerer would be totally broken. Similarly, whispers will be less effective, but it will no longer be a necessity to have a remotely enjoyable end game either with the changes that are being made. Totally needed the rework and will help open up end game possibilities imo.
I don't think so. I'm a whispers user for 2 years now, and even tho it's strong lategame, I mostly use it for the early to mid-game to have a good intel of where people are at/where they went and which areas they AREN'T.
This change will just make things more tedious in some cases, and will make it easier to find people due to the lower radius.
Whatever tho, we'll see at the next PTB. I'll try to voice my opinion, but so far I don't think I managed to have any impact whatsoever, and these devs do not seem to change their mind from their original ideas.
Its getting better for early-mid game though. You have to step in a little bit more, but the intel you get is much better. I think its getting out of the niche that BBQ has put it in. No idea how they're gonna handle the endgame, but i hope its gonna be like deathgarden with perma aurareading or noed to prevent trolling
Debatable, especially in big maps. We'll see tho. I'll probably swap up that perk on my Billy once it's released anyway for something like BAmboozle or Pop the weasel.

Sloppy butcher will be decent against people using self-care extensively to make them overly safe.
Which is a good change overall because it will make SC to be costy to these players, rather than a free way to safety. The change to selfcare + all the ways to make it more difficult to heal with it is going to be a indirect buff to Thanataphobia aswell. Harder and longer to heal will mean people injured more often or not healing at all which if thats the case Thanataphobia will be doing some good work.
Thana will still suck. Numbers are just too low to be worth it in any case.
At least in my opinion, it will never be worth a perk slot. You'd better get something to actually help you snowballing than an unsignificant debuff. -
