The legion would put surv with his power on incapacitated status instead of deep wound.

then survivors would never be able to heal or work on generators… what kind of a question is this?

What actually will happen with the perks after they remove the DLC from the store? Will they become default perks for everyone?

No official news yet, I think. But they will probably be like how Bill’s perks used to be on console before they ported him - generic icons with no relation to the license.

I know plenty of players who compete just fine on native against players on 900x1080. As someone who plays on native and 1440x1080, the advantage is massively overstated by those who don't actually use stretched.

The reality, and I know people don't want to hear this, is that the default 3rd person FOV is unacceptable to many players by today's standards. The devs can fall back on "balance considerations" all they want, but the FOV was bad in 2016 and it's worse as time goes on and accessibility has become industry standard.

Seeing over loops is not “overstating” the issue. The current default FOV for survivors is fine. If anything, it’s killer FOV that needs improvements.

  • Run Lethal Pursuer and Corrupt, you’ll change your mind about Oni being weak.

Last 2 perks are your choice, but infectious/sloppy/BBQ/tinkerer/pop/ruin all work really well.

  • The amount of people actually thinking DS and BT should be basekit is appalling.

Kindred (without killer aura) would be the only perk worth turning into a basekit mechanic since it helps solos and doesn’t really improve SWFs.

  • A one-time block AND he took the killer on a chase while you got safely unhooked and still escaped?

I see no major issue here.

  • Doesn’t matter. It gives an unfair advantage and requires edge blockers - whether the current users of it just like it as performance mode or not.

I wouldn’t even play Spirit if that happened. It would be too easy and I find it enjoyable and rewarding tracking survivors without seeing them.

The funny thing is that’s basically Wraith’s power but with a camo effect instead of full invisibility.

Waaah! I'm a human being that wants to be able to enjoy a game I bought, so I should stare at the killers face for 2 minutes as another human completely prevents me from playing that game!

Your role on hook if the killer is camping is to provide a distraction so your team can complete the generators. No, it may not be “fun”… but it’s also your fault for getting caught.

  • Make Tinkerer a token perk, lets say 6 tokens.

After a proc (same requirements as before, 70% on a gen) you will lose a token.

That way a killer can’t have unlimited procs with Ruin and Pop regression.

Ill put it this way. If you've ever made a killer force you out. And you've wasted their time at an exit gate. If you've ever stayed on hatch until they found you. Just because Mr.Killer has to watch you leave. Which I'm sure has happened. Then you're behaving no better then the actions you're calling scummy and condeming

Again, that has nothing to do with the topic of this thread. Stop derailing it.

  • @BrokenSouI said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2464562#Comment_2464562

I play both sides. And they're the exact same scenario. So it's somehow ALL on the killer to control the situation ?

Yet somehow survivors can CONTROL leaving. But they choose to waste time.

You can force the survivors out by hitting them.

Survivors can’t force themselves to bleed out faster.

  • @Red_Beard said:

I think they should give a huge blood point bonus to survivors that hold on as long as they can. This would an incentive to the survivor for staying in the game as long as they can to help the team without being a punishment for the killer that chooses to camp.

You already get struggle points. Survivors on hook don’t need additional points - people should just learn to not be entitled…

”Waaaah! I’m hooked first so I’m going to kill myself on hook!”

  • @BrokenSouI said:

What I find hilarious. Is letting a bleed out happen is "scummy" because it's boring. Yet the amount of survivors that stand at the gate and tbag until you push them out or they take the 2 minutes is astonishing

Clearly people have no issues with wasting everyones time when they take their good old time leaving.

Two completely separate issues, buddy. Also, his thread isn’t about t-bagging. This “Whatsboutism” mentality is the downfall of the community.

Objectively speaking, forcing a bleedout (when you have the option to hook and end the game) contributes nothing to fun gameplay.

thats a shame, hopefully they can change that for you guys!

Well now that this thread has been moved to “Feedback and Suggestions” it will die off without being looked at.

  • Slugging for pressure is fine. Slugging for the 4K is technically “fine”, but it’s ultimately a boring experience for both sides (killer being a tryhard). The only positive takeaway is that slugging has a max cap of 2 minutes.

Slugging on purpose to force a bleed out when the killer can easily hook to end the game is definitely scummy, though.

Oh yeah, it takes a metric crapton of time don't get me wrong. I just don't mind the investment personally and is something I don't mind grinding out bc of where I am in the game- I have like 8 Survivors at P3 50 and 4 with nearly all perks (Not counting ones from the DLCs I don't own and have been waiting to come onto the Shrine, so p much all the perks I have unlocked.) And my main Killers are P3'd with decent perks, so I really don't mind something extra to grind out. (Still though, the grind for new players is extreme and I wish they would reduce the grind overall.)

I’m content with all perks on every killer, while only a couple of my main survivors are P3/AP. Some of my killers are P3/AP as well… some are P2 or P1 because I thought I’d grind for each one but I quickly realized I wouldn’t 😅.

BHVR needs to either remove perk tiers, increase bloodpoints gained per match, reduce bloodweb sizes or a combination of the above.

  • @Dustin said:

The addition of more generators would probably mean we need to adjust the times of each individual generator so that the overall time for 6 generators is the same as 5 generators. The main purpose of a generator is to keep a survivor at a location for a set amount of time. It takes time for a killer to travel to these generators also. Ultimately adding another generator without adjusting times will be too much in the killers favor. However reducing the times even with more generators actually benefits the survivors as there's less time to patrol each generator for the killer preventing the survivors from being forced in one location.

Overall I don't see this being a good idea regardless of intent. I feel giving more additional objectives would be a good idea. Optional objectives that have a huge incentive to complete for each side would also be favorable.

I agree with this overall assessment. Here’s an idea for an additional objective:

Add a mechanic (key, switch, whatever) that activates a specific, multiple or all generators on the map. Survivors have to find this first before they can sit on a gen at the start of the match. Hell, highlight the switch’s aura after 10 seconds but make sure it spawns as far as possible from the survivors at the start of the match.

This is similar to Scott Jund’s trial warmup idea - the purpose is to allow the killer to generate some pressure before a generator or two pops.

  • Spirit: I absolutely love Lethal Pursuer - haven’t lost with Spirit since using this perk in my usual build with BBQ, Ruin, Undying. Let’s me identify where I need to juggle so I can get quick pressure.

  • Lowering Chase Music on the killer side would be a huge plus. It’s almost impossible to chase with Spirit while a chase is “active” - can’t hear ANYTHING.

That argument only works if they're... you know, actually fixing bugs and balancing the game

To their credit, they do come out with patches pretty often. Do they balance some things? Yes. Are some of the changes good? Sure. Are some decisions questionable or atrocious? Definitely. But they ARE actively updating the game (albeit slowly) even if we don’t agree with some of their changes.

Can't relate, I love prestiging characters. If it's a character I like and they have a good P3, I want it. I really like the P3 heads because of how simple they are yet how much they stand out.

It’s not about me not loving the look of prestige or “not wanting to do it”, it’s about the time bro.

If I dedicated myself to prestiging I’d be wasting tons on my personal time - I don’t play video games like I used to for hours on end. To P3 all-perk someone you need like 10 million or more blood points, no?

Well before work starts for me and seeing my mates regularly this is my plan lol. I don't play as often as I used to, just stick on bps builds and play a decent amount of games on one night and achieve a lot of progress so it's fun

I don’t have many online friends that are good at this game so I’m pretty much SWFing with one player if I’m on survivor.

That means it’s really tough to consistently earn high blood points as survivor for me.

I'm not gonna prestige them all lol just the ones I main or really like their prestige and majority of them I don't play as lol.

Good choice. With the perk tier system it takes an ungodly amount of time to prestige/all-perk every character…

  • @BabuDweet said:

Congrats! I personally prestige certain survivors I main or I just like their prestige to give me extra objective.

I currently have Ace, Quentin, Dwight and nearly Cheryl all p3 fully perked.

I wanna perk out everyone eventually but I still haven't fully decided who I definitely want to prestige or not.

It’ll be the biggest waste of your life if you prestige every character in this game, don’t do it!

Every perk on every killer, sure… on survivor it’s pointless.

  • Use your anger and hatred, Anakin. Makes you strongah!

  • Clarification:

Each rift requires its own progress, NOTHING you’ve done in a previous rift or tome will count towards the currently active rift.

Also, the free and premium tracks on a rift share progress.

  • The fall only needs to cause “max stagger”. It doesn’t have to be from a super high drop like Ironworks top floor.

  • @Artick said:

"might not seem like much"? You are asking for nearly permanent wallhacks.

How does a one-time aura reading of 3 seconds equate to nearly permanent wallhacks?

I personally agree that Territorial needs a buff, but maybe a simple one:

Each time a survivor enters the basement, you get a notification and the survivor’s aura is revealed for 15 seconds.

Survivors should rarely be chilling in the basement so the perk would serve its true purpose without having an unnecessary cooldown or distance requirement.

  • @GayDwight said:

There is a constant desire to play with another unusual build on my characters, just for one or two games, but the thought that I will have to look for each perk again and put it up makes me sick, and after that I play with my meta perks again. I am sure that I am not alone with a similar problem + this at least partially solved the problem that everyone is constantly in the game with meta perks.

I think that a couple of pre-saved perk slots for survivor and a couple of slots per killer would be a good idea, Gay Dwight.

Don't get me wrong, I completely agree that the only way to get better is to play against actual human players, but if you're trying out new mechanics or you're a new player, going up against people far more experienced than yourself doesn't make for a great learning tool.

Agree to disagree on the last point. Sometimes you just have to learn through trial by fire lol. For example, if I played chess against 3rd graders all day I’d probably get good enough to beat 3rd graders consistently. But if I took that experience and tried to play against a Chess grandmaster I’d get rocked obviously. Now, would I get better/good enough to beat that Grandmaster by going back and practicing against 3rd graders? No, I have to start playing against higher caliber players.

    Bots are like 3rd graders.

Many people (myself included) don't have a big group of friends that play DBD. If you do then that's great, but for people like myself I have to practice while I compete, and trying to test out new mechanics against players who are in it to win it, makes for a very lousy experience. This is precisely why a bot mode has been a long requested feature.

Bots are exactly that though: bots.

”Testing” a build on non-human opponents in game like this would be a lousy experience. Zero mindgaming, just tons of shift-w and generic pathing.

There's a difference between a swear word and a "######### you stupid useless [slur of choice]", and rather unfortunately the latter was rather present.

I will agree the execution is incredibly flawed, but the actual premise of "People cannot say slurs" isn't a bad philosophy, regardless of game genre.

I wasn’t talking about slurs, more so “swear” words - which people also get sensitive about. It’s okay for Ash to say he defecates in tall grass but I can’t in chat? Thanks, BHVR.

I’m on console so I don’t even see the in-game chat but people still use Xbox Messaging to send you colorful messages. Xbox is pretty consistent and fast about banning specific words/phrases though.

The developer update specifically mentioned that the offline bot mode would allow you to test everything you can in an online match without the pressure that comes with playing with other people.

Playing against bots is a feature that is pretty standard with almost any game these days. Hell even DBD mobile has it (how nuts is that?)! Sweating while you practice shouldn't be a requirement, and with matchmaking the way it is, that's exactly what you get

Sure, it’d be cool to have but custom games already exist. Just get 4 (or less) friends to test your build with.

Devs should focus on more pressing matters, imo.

Also, Mobile and Regular DBD are different teams.

  • Maybe it’s to “keep things civil” so as to not hurt people’s feelings. Because God forbid you use a naughty word in an M-rated game.

One of the reasons for the game being rated M is “Strong Language”, go figure.

sufficient Tutorials? Have you played the Tutorial? Please show where does it teach about looping, loop types, Mindgames, Totems, Obsession Mechanic, Status Effects... You can't even select character or perks in Tutorial. What updated Tutorials? the only thing updated was the visuals, which is what BHVR ever does, update visuals and keeps everything else the same.

    Yes, I have.

Tell me why the devs should devote more resources to an offline mode over fixing game-breaking bugs, balancing, or new content?

Yeah, maybe they should do a better job of explaining details like status effects… but you can learn that stuff while playing the game. Or look it up online. But playing actual matches is the way you’re supposed to try out your builds and killers.

If you REALLY hate pub games and don’t want to sweat, play a Custom Match with 4 other friends.

Oh yeah and any of the adept achievements on instadown killers. Gold chaser man....

In The Void is actually pretty easy if you make survivors think you’re farming.

  • Offline mode is really a low priority and BHVR should not devote meaningful resources to it, in my opinion. I’ll explain why.

Listen to this… you can already “test” the builds you want to run in ONLINE mode. This is an online 4v1 game, you are meant to dive into the multiplayer matchmaking - don’t be afraid to test your addon/perk combos in a live match. Also, we have sufficient tutorials available for new players that want to understand the mechanics beforehand.

Also, and more importantly, BHVR should prioritize fixing bugs and meaningful content updates (balancing, reworking killers, etc.) over something that doesn’t provide value to online matchmaking.

I was wondering about something like this, actually. But between trying to make it still make sense lore-wise, have it not feel forced, AND then making Pyramid still maintain a unique variant of it, and some other elements even still...

It's hard to think of how to do it.

You’d still have to go through the hooking aspect of it - Pyramid would keep his unique “bypass hook process” - so survivors could still do saboteur plays, flashlight/pallet saves/etc… but then killers would not be able to camp a hook.

The flip side is that the killer would get guaranteed pressure by removing a survivor from the game for a set duration.

After the set duration the survivor can land on a random hook (aura invisible to the killer) so perks like BT and Deliverance would still work.

  • They could remove the hook aspect of it and make it like Pyramid Head’s power in a way…

After a hook, the survivor goes into a “waiting realm” (the duration of one hook state). Once the real duration is over, they spawn on the map far from the killer and need to be “saved back” into the game but the killer can’t see the aura (like PH’s cages). This also has a time limit - if the survivor doesn’t get saved they go into their second hook state / waiting realm for another hook state duration. If they don’t get saved a 3rd time then they die like how it is currently.

This pretty much removes the camping hook aspect out of the game entirely.

  • Just bring healing perks or medkits, I guarantee you will be able escape consistently versus Wraith unless you have awful teammates and/or get a trash map like RPD.

  • When? Who knows.

But they should do it soon. Map is so boring to me, on both sides. It’s not well designed either.

1 … 14 15 16 17 18 … 30
