Imagine survivors having one, unnerfed iridescent left in the game and Killer's cannot handle it, despite it being extremely infrequent in comparison to the number of times you see their multiple iridescents used in matches. 🙄

Also, you saw that person come into the game with a key. An advantage only the killer has. You could have come better prepared to deal with it.

Flip the roles around and you get moris. : D

I remember playing Hag on xbox, she actually felt weaker on it, idk, but on console, some of the R1 teams were far stronger than the PC R1 teams I've faced since switching. It's strange.

    It depends on the team.

  • @Poweas said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1288241#Comment_1288241

I don't think she's THAT strong, Spirit and Oni are certainly stronger than Hag so it's unlikely she'll get nerfed, plus, she's not played a lot so she's considered bad and people don't complain about her at all.

She is my go to against tough teams because:

    1. Nobody knows how to counter her.
    2. She can deny loops way more efficiently than those two killers can if played right.
    3. Xbox players don't expect her (which is my platform).
    4. I love mindgames where it looks like a lose-lose for survivors. : D
  • I actually like playing Hag, but I dont say that too much because I don't want her getting nerfed like Nurse.

  • My only issue is with keys, not the hatch itself. Keys are just way too common for the power they hold.

If the survivors are good, you are definitely doomed. But that's how it is with other killers as well.

I gave a counter: Set up an area, and defend it. They will have to come up with them.

Your response: It doesn't matter, tactics dont matter against a good team.

My new response: Tactics give you a better shot at winning than you would normally. So set up an area you do not want to lose. Play dirty. If they will have no mercy, why should you?

  • It wouldn't matter if it was added due to the pure existence of discord and console party systems.

Still no answer for my argument. You dont need to see the targets, just see the red marks and listen. Also imagine bringing stridor, thats a party pinata for your side. I didnt need perks or addons to kill everybody in games. Just takes no skill in my opinion.

I also dont understand the people4 that cry about the bump nerf on spirit, it was an idiot way to kill someone with even less skill.

Not to mention the people that says the nurse is not the same as the old one. All they did was putting a 2-3 sec cooldown on her power. I dont see a huge difference here lol.

Your argument was: Spirit is easy.

My rebuttal: No for these reasons (the base mechanics of spirit are a massive hurdle).

The only thing you say that is a dispute to my rebuttal is: That Stridor Helps.

This is not always the case, as Stridor can throw off people who don't use it, as well as not always working (silent survivor bug).

Spirit was fine because people just never mastered how to play against her. She got nerfed (not as bad as nurse) and now she suffers for it. Nurse was always bad on console, and now it is even worse because stacking cooldowns isn't fun. I don't play deathslinger to be hit with 4-5 slowdown/cooldowns, I play deathslinger to outmaneuver people with the Redeemer. Nurse needs her blinks to move. Adding a cooldown essentially limited the way she is able to move around the map.

I must have heard the info I had from before then, since I've been playing for a little bit now (not a hardcore veteran though)

No worries, just trying to clear up confusion.

  • @Mister_Holdout said:

Legion tends to get gen rushed pretty hard. So, I recommend a heavy slowdown build:

    Corrupt Intervention

    Pop Goes The Weasel

    Thanatophobia

Discordance (survivors like to group up and do gens)

Don't forget to use Defaced Smiley Pen for the mangled staus effect (60 secs). Filthy Blade is also decent.

Basically, you want to slowdown survivors as much as possible.

If the map chosen is smaller, you can actually be somewhat succesful with Legion. Of course, if the map is large then you're doomed.

You are not doomed with a larger map. Just know what gens to give up for more success later!

  • Here is a fun couple. They both use the Iri Button for the map-wide TR:

    Healing is fun!

Addons: Iri Button + one of your choice.

    Perks:

Colorophobia, Sloppy Butcher, Thanataphobia, and Unnerving Presence

Why? Colorophobia and Unnerving both are affected by Iri Buttons TR, and Sloppy and Thana slow down healing even further, making it a really tedious process. You could replace Thana with Nurses Calling if you wanted to.

    Don't do gens...

Addons: Iri Button + Ruler of your choice

    Perks:

Pop Goes the Weasel, Overcharge, Unnerving Presence, and Surveillance.

Why? Pop and Overcharge have natural synergy, similar to Overcharge and Unnerving. Surveillance is just to keep track of the gens in case they do not fail the Ridiculously difficult skill check of Unnerving Overcharge.

    I'm a survivor!

Addons: Ruler + whatever you want.

    Perks:

Dark Devotion, Dying Light, Pop, and Corrupt.

Recommended cosmetics: Suspended Julie or any muted cosmetics.

Why? This recreates the Legion from the trailer. You will be going from obsession to non-obsession constantly. Dark Devotion does not proc on frenzy hits, however, this can mean you can control it far more easily than most killers. Dying Light encourages for you to hook non-obsessions, so going back and forth between them is quite good. Pop and corrupt are to help you get a snowball.

An interesting note about Dark Devotion: it will Transfer your KI readings to the obsession, which means, you will be able to know if anyone is near the obsession while it is active. It is something that will throw you off if you do not know this. Doc can take advantage of this build too, since it transfers his static blast to the obsession as well.

The muted cosmetics are to bamboozle survivors. The smarter ones will notice you are a legion when they see you, but if you disguise yourself, it can get you a free hit much faster. You would be surprised how many confuse Legion for another survivor when they do not have a TR...

You're correct, I've seen that a lot. I haven't played console firsthand but I can say I've seen many people say it. Another bit is that while Bill is shown in the perk icons on PC, I believe on console the person in the perk icons is just a generic guy, similar to what you see in No Mither or WGLF.

Also, if we were to have Adam be between Louis or Coach, I'd say Adam is totally more of a Louis kind of guy.

Bill is on Console, he was added a while ago.

  • @EvilJoshy said:

I don't even think console has Bill at all. His perks are automatically in the bloodweb for them but Bill is absent. I think they got the rights to use Bill for PC only because back when they got him they had no intention of crossing platforms.

We have console. We didn't for the longest time, but we have Bill now.

I have 2 other questions . if I damage a gen regularly , but have the surge perk and put someone in the dying state with the basic attack and the survivor is in the range of the generator I just damaged but no other generators , would the perk still activate since it would not be damaging the generator ?

and would it be better to damage a generator regularly or by using the perk surge if the was an injured survivor who I could down withing the undamaged generators radius of the surge perk ?

    1. No. It will not activate because it was not used.
    2. If surge is on cooldown, kick, if not, just down. Surge really isn't great by itself... I would advise trying to combine it with a perk like Surveillance, which lets you know if a gen is regressing or not.
  • Killers already have to deal with a lot of survivor BS. No need to give them another thing to hate.

  • This would be great. It could combine with the Shrine of Secrets so the builds include perks on there to encourage people to get them...

Or... maybe it could randomize after you do a game with them (there is a DBD perk randomizer out there. Something like that could spice things up). Does not have to be a weekly thing, but it could encourage survivors and killers to try perks.

Survivors: Use 4 random perks to escape the trial... after 1 successful escape, you can get more builds for more shards.

Killer: Use 4 random perks to kill 2 survivors (without a mori). Success is met with a new build and more rewards.

This would give killers and survivors reasonable goals to go for and allow them to see new perks so they can find ones they like instead of being slaves to the meta.

Since when does spirit require skill? You press a button and dissapear, just go through red marks, listen, and there you go! On my first spirit's games, i did 4k and sometimes with 5gens left with no perks and addons! I was streaming, and a friend told me to play spirit for the memes, knowing i hate her, and the survivors couldnt do anything! Im rank 1!

Spirit cannot see her targets. Spirit cannot bump into targets, and it is about predicting where the survivor is (or, if you have good/attuned hearing listening for where they are).

Playing against spirit is different to playing against a normal M1 killer. Most survivors do not know how to play against her. It takes time and dedication, and since a lot of people play Doc or Billy at the moment, there is not a lot of time to learn those counters.

  • @DudeDelicious You called it ahead of time...

Yeah, you're totally right! That's a great idea! Why not only play as a certain small selection of killers to counter a basekit non-ability that all survivor have access to in a game who's main draw is a wide array of cast members! Why didn't I think of that before?

Run [BLANK1] to counter [BLANK2] is not exactly good advice.

Or you can use Discordance, BBQ, Spies, or any other killer detection perks. There are multiple ways to find them. Or, you know, get gud. Use Doc to learn how survivors hide, then stop using them.

I have learned how to hear the signs of them, grass moving, breathing without Stridor... there are ways to find people without using certain killers.

So much for me trying to be helpful.

I see you have never had to deal with immersed survivors. It's real fun never finding anyone because stealth is so damn easy. Who tf needs second chance perks if you just rush the gens.

Just Play Doc or Legion if you have a tough time with finding people...

  • Head On, Inner Strength, Aftercare, and WGLF is my build. Helping the team, getting those WGLF stacks, and messing around with Head On... I find it fun. And it does not matter if you escape or not, since you will get a ton more points than normal.

  • @LetsPlayTogether said:

Most killer players cant play without ruining the game for others, cause theyre that bad. And devs still ignore those "legit strategies". Killer players are the reason that this game is more frustrating than fun.

Tunneling, Camping, and Slugging are all legitimate strategies, and the Devs have defended them (you cannot report someone for doing these things, and if you try to you may get banned yourself for false reports with malicious intent).

I am amazed you are still on the forums with how vitriolic you are against killer players in general. Every time I pass you on the forums, you are saying something horrible about them (some players might apply, but you apply the minority to the majority)...

  • 20. I usually stick to killer challenges unless I have friends.

  • Less Fengs, Neas, and Claudettes. They are usually toxic.

More Tapps and Jeffs because they usually play like decent people. I knew a Jeff main whose username is MyNameJeff. I try to let him escape.

  • Plague. Even though she is better than before, I do not see them as often.

  • I hate to say it, but dont be at rank 1 for adepts. It makes the goal very, very difficult to attain.

Yes, mori’s should be a stylistic choice.

Or mori’s should spawn new assets as an alternative to hooks for a survivor to be carried to in order to be mori’d.

The hooks wouldn’t be removed, just additional map assets in a small number scattered around the map where a mori can only be performed in those specific zones. The stronger the Mori offering, the more numerous the Mori zones scattered around the maps.

As for keys/hatch, keep the whole “last survivor” has hatch option regardless of how many gens are left (we don’t want to return to holding game hostage scenarios), but make the hatch spawn requirements much more restrictive for 2, 3, or 4 survivors alive. Perhaps include a new additional map asset that’s the “hatch lock”, hidden somewhere nowhere near the actual hatch spawn. Survivor must use a key on the new map asset in order to manually unlock the hatch.

Making moris more ritualistic/cinematic gives them more weight and keeps it in line with the Entitys will. I think that would be a fine change.

And the Hatch lock thing would be great. If killers know where the hatch is, they would make it a race to the hatch and survivors would have to look for two things instead of one.

  • I had 3 gens pop while changing batteries which my Xbox hadn't warned me that they were dying. So I just gave up and facecamped the fool who found me in basement, minding my own business. You want to genrush while I am busy? Fine. I will make you pay for it.

  • I like to play them all (except billy and nurse because they are tedious and boring), but I'm a Legion main who likes Deathslinger as well.

  • @AvisDeene said:

It is a breath of fresh air when you get a chill killer who only uses their Mori on death hook. Those Killers get a lot of respect from me. Using it after first hook shows me that you don't want to have a fun game, instead, you want to make your opponents miserable. I respond in kind by becoming one with the bush and doing my best to drag the game on as long as possible and never letting them see me.

I like those kind too. They don't get the benefits from hooking people (Pop or BBQ), but still want to use a mori.

  • @Squirrel_Thicc said:

If the dev's do anything, it's buffing killer's constantly. We literally haven't seen a survivor buff in such a long time so I don't really understand the point.

That is because of the inherent strength of the survivor role. Go check out 2015/16 gameplay and tell me the game isn't even more survivor sided than it is now. The game is not perfect, but it is more balanced than it was before.

    Here my thoughts:

Wraith's rework: Better add-ons, boosted him quite a bit.

Trapper's rework: Still missing certain stuff, but he got massively boosted. His add-ons are really well thought out.

    Freddy's rework: Definitely a success.

Legion's rework: Load of dumpster fire, could have been handled way better. At least they have realised how much of a mistake this rework was and they have slowly reverted these changes one by one.

Nurse's rework: Another failure. Despite wanting to make add-ons that dont mess up with muscle memory, they still created more. They added an unnecessary cd on top of a cd. Neglected all the bugs she got. Still has a large amount of useless add-ons.

Doctor's rework: Another success. Made him a lot better. Still some stuff I disagree with, but at least they fixed the important stuff.

Overall, I would say its most of the time an improvement. One comforting thought is that at least low tier Killers will always end up better, which is why Im looking for to whatever they do to Clown.

They love their cooldowns. First Nurse then Deathslinger. : P

  • Underwhelming and contradicts itself. Thanatophobia is the fear of death, yet dead survivors don't count. This perk should encourage survival at all costs, otherwise there is a consequence for it, but that isn't the case. A wasted opportunity if you ask me.

  • My only issue with it is that the regression is not enough for the benefit. I would increase it to 10-15% instead of just 8%.

Thanks so friggen much!! I actually am curious now that I've met a Legion main, any perk set ideas, I know Thanophobia (probs spelt that wrong) is good, but what about the other 3?

Well, I find thana unreliable. Don't get me wrong, it can be good on them, but I think it is overrated.

Legion can have very different builds based on what addons you want to use. Want to use Extra range addons? There are builds for that (Dark Devotion, Dying Light, Corrupt Intervention, and Pop is a good one). Want to use Legion Pin? There is a build for that (Thana, Blood Echo, Pop the Weasel, and BBQ). Using the Iridescent Pin? There are at least two builds for that (Unnerving, Pop, overcharge, and Surveillance for an anti-gen build, or Colorophobia, Sloppy Butcher, Blood Echo, and Spies for an anti-heal build. They both take advantage of the map wide TR).

Builds only work in you understand how to use each perk, though. And about seeing what works.

Also Map Offerings. Which are all green, and there's a ton of them.

    That too.

    1. First off, pick a killer and stick to them. Learn them as best you can: their nuances and tricks for looping and maps. Deathslinger is very different to Legion, which is different to Hag... you get what I am saying. Learn one killer so you have a fall back plan when learning others. See what your playstyle is, as that, in combination with the killer, will help you have the most fun.
    2. You will probably fail... a lot... most likely due to bad match ups/RNG, but try to see what you can do better later in the match or in the next one. Try to find enjoyment where you can. If you get nobody, fine, at least you are trying and learning. If you get a 4k, great! You beat them.
    3. Monto, Otzdarva (he uses his account Not Otzdarva), and Farmer John are all decent killer players. You can watch them on Youtube or Twitch. Spacecoconut is the best Hag main I know, and taught me a lot about her. They can give you tips about almost any killer (although most streamers do not know how to play legion well. If you want tips, I can give them to you as a legion main).
      1. int3r4ct has guides on every killer, plus detailed breakdowns of their abilities, strengths and weaknesses, and some good perk builds in his series: Entity Education.
      2. I, personally, would never take anything Bricky says seriously. He does not play DBD on the regular and fails to see the potential in certain killers because of his bias.
    4. If you want a decent killer, get Oni (or Hag or Doc if you are on PC. Hag + Doc comes with Console basekit wit decent perks. Huntress is also really good in the right hands). Their perks may not be great (with exception of Nemesis), but Oni themselves are quite good.
      1. If you cannot buy any licensed killers, wait for their perks in the bloodweb and get those asap. You can get non-licensed characters in the shop for Iridescent shards at any time, but you can't with licensed characters, nor will their perks be easy to obtain from the shrine.
    5. The DBD Wiki is another great source if you are looking for something in particular:

When you have their perks, just have fun messing around. You'll find a build that works and is fun, and you'll be a good enough killer by this time where you can make the most of every aspect of killer.

    I hope this helps.

  • I like it most of the ideas, but I have been called a dirty killer main more times than I can count. I like the idea of the Entity being more involved, but it raises some questions... like how would Ruin, Surge, and Surveillance behave with the changes? Is there a way to go back past 50%? Unnerving would essentially become old Ruin again.

On top of this you completely miss the problem of keys. It does not matter how many gens they get if there is one key in the match. It allows them to escape even if the hatch is closed.

Removing Moris is another issue, as they are something used to balance out Keys and SWFs. You can't just remove one without the other. I would agree with making the requirements different for a red mori: That everyone needs to be hooked before you can use it, but removing them carelessly would be a bad idea.

  • This is because, when the bloodweb spawns, there are a few slots reserved for each rarity. There are only 3 red addons/offerings for Nurse, so chances are you will get a mori with a few of them, while there are far more common addons that compete with each other. For every slot taken by a green addon, the less spots there are for an Ivory mori.

  • I prefer the killer ones, but that is because I am more skilled at killer than survivor.

  • Think about it for a moment, she can phase practically anywhere, and get within close range, where guns are useless, and even though she can take pallets, I think that was a limitation added by the entity. If she didn't have that limitation, I think she could single handedly win a war.

My second choice is Huntress for obvious reasons.

I've heard people saying that based on the fact that the actors for both Pinhead and Candyman are credited on DBD's IMDB page, but that means about as much as if they were credited on the Wikipedia page. I'd be quite surprised if they released two DLCs at once, and honestly I'd rather they didn't, because more likely than not both of them would be kind of half-assed if that happened. 3 months is a pretty narrow timeframe for developing one killer, let alone two.

Wikipedia has a very tough vetting process. It is more likely to be true than IMDB.

I would agree with that, but you still need to have the ability to use every single Jigsaw Boxes you find, it's just that one randomly is highlighted to you everytime. Until a generator pops when you need to see all of them (because time is ticking)

Rule set never stopped you from using them, just that they aren't immediately shown to you. It makes them waste more time, is all.
