Scratchmarks and blood are both designed to be unreliable as hell. Scratchmarks indicate an area, blood easily blends into the ground. That means you can slap on Iron Will and, due to the moronic Chass music change they made, you are literally undetectable and the killer has to make a pure guess, while you can often both see the killer and hear their overloud footsteps. This allows people like me to just not even bother mindgaming and simply run away while the killer screws themselves through no fault of their own, but entirely due to the fusion of a moronic change and a bugged perk (and it is bugged).
Iron Will is supposed to be a stealth perk, not a chase perk like it currently is.
People will skirt around the reasons it is used, but it's not used in so many builds 'Just Because.'
Most sites that collect stats from endgame usually list it in the top 5 (granted, its exact position varies by site).
There's nothing wrong with using it - It's one of the best perks in the game.
-
Iron Will is in the top 5 used Survivor perks for a reason.

As you want my friend, a video... even Lerys <3
His power is pretty fun on Haddonfield, too.
I don't see a lot of other people shooting through walls, but it's actually one of the better qualities of his power.

Wraith is considerably better than Oni and Tinkerer's Undetectable status is a non-factor whenever talking about that perk and Ruin. Seriously, it means absolutely nothing and doesn't actually contribute anything.
Wraith doesn't chase and you cannot defend against him, which is why he's so hated (he's only visible for about 3 seconds before uncloaking and lunging you due to his speed). Oni gets locked out of his power. Ruin/Tinkerer on a killer as fast as Wraith is broken.
Not bothered by what happens in the video, I just don't like it when people undersell that harshly.
I was typing out the same points - Beat me to it, friendo :3
I've had games like this/have been in a swing state where I'm tossed between really hard/tieable/winnable games.
It doesn't bother me at all, tbh. I have fun and enjoy the varied spikes in difficulty.
-
His chains have some pretty neat uses like hitting survivors through walls in the Haddonfield house basement, etc.
He's not super great, but he's not as bad as people are saying, either.
-
People should be able to play whatever role they want.
Good players, however, usually play both roles.
-
Pinehead has really been tearing up the Sheltered Woods.
-
Key escapes can suck, but it's just RNG.
Happens to me all the time against players I'm already struggling to keep pressure on.
I'm a pretty good killer, play them all, etc, but I don't feel entitled to any outcome in the game.
Play to win or whatever, but like map selection, vault spawns, totem spawns, presence of DS/NOED, etc, it's just part of the game's RNG factor.
The whole game is based on RNG and huge momentum swings - May as well be mentally prepared when you queue up.
Keys are on the chopping block, but for now they're in the game as is.

An analogy can't be crazy, technically, because they're an analogy. They're not meant to be taken like it actually happened.
And secondly, the fact that it's based in real life doesn't make their point any less relevant. Again, they're analogies, generally used to clarify or explain things in better detail or on another angle. In this instance, it's using a hypothetical scenario to expose the absurdness of a certain line of logic that they're arguing against.
So what did you have to say in response to that? A statement that just says something so boring and expected as what you posted.
They certainly didn't ask for a half-[bleep] response. You could have at least tried to debunk them.
I was going to tell the tale of my time on the bomb squad - There were 5 wires....only one of them was live, but I certainly appreciate your reply :3
Ah, I'll tell it anyway.
My Detective's Hunch kicked in and I did the totem next me - Some people said it was letting the perp win, as I was wasting time on that totem, but it turned out to be connected to the wire - Had I left it alone, the device would have detonated.
I realize it's not as thrilling as comparing gun violence in a real life setting to a video game perk.

In a game like this, pretty much everything is team reliant. Say you don't break any totem, like you are suggesting, and the killed has NoeD. Ok, which totem has it now? Is it on the other side of the map from where you are? Will the randoms on your team open the exit gates while you find and cleanse it, or will they hide forever? Will somebody else the hooked guy while you find and cleanse it, or will nobody do that? Will YOU be the hooked guy that gets left behind, because people are not going to help you against a killer who needed to rely on such a thing?
What you are saying, basically, is: I see someone carrying a gun in the metro, and there is a police officer next to me. But he still hasn't shot and killed anybody, so I don't need to warn the officer yet. Once someone is dead, which might as well be me, then he can be warned.
LOL
Crazy real life analogies don't really help your point.

No, because if they're being fed downs, they'll get more hooks. It's not uncommon for these killers to tunnel/camp someone out of the game too, making a snowball very likely with NOED. Note that this is as solo survivor where Pepega results are expected (from both sides). Usually it'll end up with Brutal killer, which still secures their rank, but the strategy I just mentioned is applicable by any moron with a controller/keyboard and can be reliably applied.
These killers also have sweaty builds that drag the games long enough to get a few hooks and many 'chases' in, which help the score and make gatekeeper gain in value since the game lasts longer via slowdown.
I see.
Thanks for responding.

Instead of getting entity displeased against the team of Pepega solos they can't keep up with, because they're not in the right rank, they instead get Brutal Killer or even Ruthless if they managed to score a kill or more. It's not uncommon for uncoordinated and silly solos to feed kills to a NOED killer. They'll still sometimes depip if they perform particularly badly, but most of them manage to get just enough in to secure a black pip. Which is all they need in a meta full of ruin/undying/tinkerer or any other heavy build combined with NOED.
Make no mistake, the vast majority of killers I face that have NOED I can call it. They tend to have a similar playstyle which is often devoid of game sense. The times I'm wrong are usually 1 or 2 perk Andies that are learning a killer.
Wouldn't Brutal or Ruthless require them to have an adequate number of hooks and other scoring events throughout the game?
-
@DeliciousFood said:
- Semi-Frequently, depends on the hours and nationality (yeah, some regions have more toxic gaming cultures than others). I would say 1 every 5 games as it keeps bad killers in the ranks that satisfy their egos (red lol).
- Not too often, mostly because I won't feed a killer dumb enough to run it outside of some gimmick build I noticed. I'm rarely the first hit.
- If I'm running a build for it, yeah. Otherwise? No, it's a waste of time in solo queue, and time is precious when your idiot colleagues might fall to an equally stupid killer. If I don't run a map or small game, I can't keep track of what's been done and I won't comb through god awful map design to find them. Nor can I rely on my teammates to do the same.
EDIT: I also don't cleanse because I make mental notes of where some totems are in case the NOED happens. I will say there is nothing more amusing than breaking a dumb killer's NOED and just remind them why they need it so much before I say goodbye at the exit gate.
How would NOED keep 'bad' killers in the red ranks if they are playing poorly throughout the entirety of the trial?
-
@Alice_pbg said:
1. How often do you see NOED in your games?
1 - Can't tell. But it's very rare
2. How often does it get you killed?
2 - only when it activates on me and no one can get me or the totem. Otherwise, if I can't find the totem I just leave.
3. Do you cleanse totems?
3 - whenever I see them. Inner strenght gang baby!!

I went against 2 hacker Dwights this morning who was duo together in dbd. Before the game started they kept changing their names in the lobby knowing what killer I was with harassing names. They had infinite health states, infinite DS even without hooked, infinite healing others and was doing every single action faster.
When the game ended, they was like "ez baby killer" and was saying "imagine being racist" and changed their steam name to my name and spammed racial slurs and said they reported me. I reported both of them in game and did make 2 tickets with clips of proof but I couldn't get their steam links because they changed it before I could load it. Will I get falsely banned because of this?
Sorry, I get super paranoid when hackers are in my game.
I'd usually say no, but given that hacker now have a way to change their names/player id number data in the end game lobby (while also making themselves unreportable), I don't know what to tell you :(

Searching for NOED is not doing nothing.
It's anecdotal, but I play mostly solo queue - NOED has little to no impact on my escape rate.
If I see a totem when I'm repairing or en route to a gen, I'll do it.
If I bring my Detective's Hunch/Inner Strength build and I see a couple of totems left when the last gen pops, I'll check them if it's practical and/or someone goes down to NOED.
If I'm not running anything and can't find the totem after a cursory look (assuming the killer is camping), I'll leave - I don't care if all the other survivors bite it.
I escape a lot solo and usually pip (almost always safety if not) if I die.
-
4K's with 2 Gens done.
"Oh boy, here I go losing again"
:(
LOL
-
They're good if you save them for the late game / to break up a 3-gen.
They're bad if you just jump on the first gen you see and blow it (sometimes this is ok on the 'central' gen).

I have wanted to get good with Plague for a while now and want to know if there is anything I am doing wrong with her.
I would prefer other Plague mains to help me out here since no one plays plague lol.
As why I chose to go in with no help, I play without perks or addons when learning a new killer to force myself to really learn their power.
(It is okay to be brutally honest btw, I know I am not the best and it is recommended you be as harsh as you can lol)
Stuff like breaking the Ormond wall asap, puking on shack window before getting there, puking on stuff you know will be dropped/used in a loop, etc are all dece plays - It was nice to see.
I really only watched the first video, but aside from the long chase at the end (you could have just hit her with 2 M1's [imo] in the length of time it took you trying to infect) - It cost you a solid tie (possibly win).
I think it's pretty clear that you were having a blast, though, and that's what it's all about >:3

I am not going down a rabbit hole of what is and is not enough for everyone. I did not provide proof. Believe what you want to.
I think the rest of the post is useful. If you disagree, thats fine.
GL in your games.
Also, yellow clown bottles have potential! I don't get the hate for them tbh.
They definitely do, for sure - I picked up some stuff watching Otz get some wacky hits with them.
The person in question mentioned them and their applications non-stop and people wanted video evidence because they could not emulate what was being said/may have been doing the techniques incorrectly.
Those people are now skeletons.
I did take a look through their post history to see if I could find the specific topic (there were way too many), but I did notice that there was one there that said they were looking for players to make a video guide - If that video was actually created, then I am wrong and that person actually delivered - I'll take the L.
I did see a topic complaining about the lack of Hag counterplay, though, that was quite popular - Figured I'd mention it because of your own thoughts on Hag counterplay :P
In contrast to their topic, and in your defense, I've previously said that the information you posted was valuable/helpful. On top of that, it's easily identifiable in game and can be emulated by most skill levels in a match - being able to explain things in a clear, concise, and relatable manner is a talent, for sure, and definitely helps your readers.

I asked for proof, got nothing, and decided to leave the thread (that is until, this gem caught my eye - joy!). Of course, I always enjoy these sorts of responses from people trying to make a ton of assumptions about me based on nothing other than asking the op for something tangible to go on. Video proof, specifically.
Outrageous claims, outrageous proof. Winning all your games for a year straight is borderline impossible, and if you were actually embarking on such an ordeal, why not document it? Seems bizarre to go through all that effort just to make a post claiming something you cannot substantiate. But hey, logic and requiring reasonable proof is being self-important I suppose.
Thank you for being an example of why this community is seen the way it is. Much appreciated.
Most people would be able to tell after 5-6 R1 games whether it's a godlike Hag or not.
This reminds me of that Clown guy that kept talking about how great the Yellow bottles were/are - The threads are probably still kicking around if you search for them.

And Like I said, in order to be able to see over the jungle gym when you normally wouldn't be able to, an incredibly specific positioning from both you and the killer is required.
The only spot where he could see the killer and couldn't see on native, he had to be standing at the T wall while the killer had to be a neighboring tile. Were the killer in the same tile, this means you can see the killer when you otherwise wouldn't in such a specific scenario that it MIGHT be able to help you in a situation that you are lucky enough for a generator to be at one of these very specific angles. If the killer was any closer to the gym, you know like the momment at which its important to actually see the killer, the gym will either completely block the killer or the killer will be visible in both FOVs, it can only ever increase vision of the horizon under specific conditions.
What does killer positioning have to do with survivor viewpoint?
You also state that "it can only ever increase vision of the horizon under specific conditions," but the extra details visible at the menu screen alone shoot this down.

You are free to believe exactly what you want to. You can discount everything I say based on whatever criteria you want to.
Other players can do this, but it makes for very boring content and not very fun games. I have absolutely no doubt players like Michi who almost never lose (while using no add-ons and meme builds) can do this but why would they?
Either the info in the post is useful or it is not. I hope it is.
I cant prove I won the games, so I expect people will not believe me. All I do is play Hag. I don't play any other killer. I have only played maybe 5 games as another killer since starting the game.
If you find anything in the post, besides the winstreak, that you want to discuss/object to. Let me know.
I do hope you read the post and try it out, though.
gl
Once again, I do need to state that I don't believe any other player has ever made such a claim or demonstrated a winstreak anywhere near this caliber.
IE - If Dowsy's 199 is S-Tier, your 700 (possibly +, as you said on Reddit you didn't want to overestimate) would be SSSS+.

gl out there.
I get teams in solo queue that destroy Hags that are quite good/use their perks/trap setups quite well.
Additionally, some of these Hags use better add-ons, as well (ie shackles).
I know it's anecdotal, but, well, we're in this topic.

Most of what you're sharing has also been discussed by other users on these very forums, as well as other streamers.
Granted, there is nothing wrong with compiling what you know in one place, but there isn't really anything new or exciting being brought to the table, either. Things like positioning camera before popping traps, harassing traps, perk choice, etc are not really new info/tech.
