I stated that:
1) Being able to play with your friends helps keep the game alive.
2) Crossplay adds to the player pool and keeps the game alive.
3) Licenses with cool characters help keep the game alive.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You replied with:
"Crossplay restricts DBD design, because consoles cannot do that which PCs can. Lowest common denominator.
SWF is a cancer. Voice comms directly circumvent the design of this game and render entire swathes of Killer abilities and perks moot.
Licenses are paid for by us."
Pretty hard to give you a reply when your answers aren't even related to whether or not said things help keep the game alive.

Its clear you have a lot of time invested into this game, and this board with your 4710 posts here.
But that puts you in the position of vested interest.
Perhaps you should listen more, and step outside your "comfort zone" to understand that you arent the deciding factor, and that even if you are perhaps making money off streaming DBD, you dont actually matter in this anymore than anyone else that buys the game or dlc, and there are valid concerns beyond your personal purview.
I'd much prefer that you explain why you think that:
Being able to play with your friends does not entice people to play/bolster the player base (keep the game alive)
Being able to do so regardless of platform, along with access to these players when playing solo, does not entice people to play/bolster the player base (keep the game alive)
Having access to licensed content with horror icons does not entice people to play/bolster the player base (keep the game alive).
It'd be a much more interesting read than some pseudo-conspiracy nonsense about me having a vested interest or making money off the game.
This account is currently 1258 days old - That's not a lot of activity at all.
I also have A LOT of posts stating my displeasure with the game and its handling of various things.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Strawman aside, the only reason I'm keeping the conversations going in this topic is to see how all of this broken logic is defended and to observe the replies.

Lol, your argument is "DBD doesn't have a high player count, and sources that prove me wrong don't count because I know better."
Cognitive Dissonance

What did I say that was false?
Your reply did not contain any reasoning as to why you think DBD is as successful as it is, only your personal opinions on the things that I believe are keeping it alive (without any actual refutation).
If you do not think that these are the things keeping it alive, I'd like to hear the alternatives.

I stated raw facts.
There was no bias in what I wrote.
Deal with reality.
What do you think the game owes its success to?

Regardless of your biases, objective facts are objective facts.

Active player base is active playerbase, doesn't matter the genre. Nice try, try again
Yeah, my bad.
I guess the most popular/active fighting game in the world, what with all its tournaments and sponsorships, is dead because its active player base is 1/100000 of that of the most active MMORPG.

Thats hardly an accoalde for this game.
Crossporting was arguably a mistake for most games, yet DBD perhaps has "best" configured it, but that has also made this game in many ways "simpler" so as to accomodate console based native restrictions.
Crossplay, SWF, and major Licences are the things that keep DBD alive.

That is not something to flex about just a FYI even if we GUESSED Console users it would still be below 1million.......Have you never seen MMORPG #'s?
Yeah - I usually see them brought up when the topic is MMORPG's.
Logical fallacy, btw.

I don't like the movement and camera view of killers to be honest. It bothers my eyesight. It's not the same when playing cod or re. >∆> I also told my bf to leave ttv out because that's why he gets tunneled. Lmao I never put ttv on mine.
Shadowborn may help if you do not like the Field of View - It costs a perk slot, though :(

If you're going to be rude, go else where. I shouldn't have to know bout PC population. I'm stating what I see going on outside of this forum since mods/gaming developers aren't in those other forums and groups.
If you're talking about a game dying, you should know how its population is distributed in order to have an estimate of the size of its playerbase.
The game was given out for free at various points on every major console (aside from switch), and is also currently on Game Pass and Stadia.
The game's active population is huge.

2 weeks ago on steam we were 75k, Saturday, same time.
So it's negative 15k in 2 weeks only on PC (-20%).
Let's see in two weeks, it will continue to drop, the experience is awful atm.
Population always jumps during the release period of new content before normalizing.
Information you should already know when you're talking about the state of its population.

That's on steam, I'm not a PC player and most of the groups im in isn't PC players but console.
The PC community is this game's smallest.
Information you should already know when you're talking about the state of its population.

All I usually see on these forums is when someone puts a discussion forward or something then trash talk is resorted to. Why is beyond me people can't be civil with a simple conversation then why are you even on the forums. Sorry but it's true. Mods please delete this post it's unreal.
I take it you are not familiar with cognitive dissonance.

When the original post contains trashtalking, it's generally a hard 'no.'

You may not want to hear this, but you know how chains break at the weakest link? It's a popular Killer mindset, tunnel and get the weakling out first to hurt the entire team. Not saying you're weak, but the rest of your team might be really good.
Coming to the forums after rage quitting 'because' you were being 'unfairly targeted' (tunneled) for one game does not really display a position of strength in any regard.

The embarassing behavior of a large portion of the community has little to do with the game.
These people make everything they touch trash and most likely need some type of mental help and/or therapy.
Most times such behavior is a coping mechanism for other problems - it's often observable in the posts of various users, here, too.

I would have rathered a simple nerf to no scoping / just the ADS nerf.
He'd still need to commit to shooting, M2 chase spam would be dead (he can still do the animation but it's not as impactful with the charge time), Iri Coin would not be buffed, and his TR/stealthy style would be intact.

The fact that people are dismissing being able to heal from injured to full in 5 seconds with 2 perks and a green medkit is wild.
Just bless a totem in a main building/structure and BaZOOnGA - Easy heal station that is usually disadvantageous for a killer to repeatedly chase at/return to/cleanse.

Sorry Slinger mains but he was extremely unfun and oppressive as a killer and killer designs shouldn't keep being that. This change was a healthy one and in the right direction.
The problem with this change is the fact that he was EXTREMELY 1v1 oppressive, but EXTREMELY weak in the 1v4, like lots of the killers they keep making. They made his 1v1 much better to face, but now he is still weak in the 1v4. I hope he gets some sort of buff to help compensate for that now. This new change was for sure a good one, but his weakness is going to shine brighter now. I don't have an idea for it now, but hopefully the devs are thinking of something nice.
Personally, I'd say the real problem is that he's now a 110% killer w/ a 32m TR (which I'm assuming means his TR add-ons are remaining the same...I hope) that has no way to deal with vaults effectively and loses the majority of his 'quick shot into pull survivor around an obstacle for m1" ability - He's not oppressive on any kind of loop/vault/chase now, gets super wrecked by Dead Hard(like Nurse), loses quick shot to deal with Lithe/SB, and is most likely going to be worse than Trickster in terms of viability now :(
I don't particularly like using/playing against him, but these changes are a bit bananas, imo.
These changes may fly if they make him 115%, but I doubt that will be an option.

I think Zubat was showing few times those amazing 'mindgames' - running and spamming M2 until survivor takes a bait and uses Dead Hard, or you just catch up.

Not a fan of it reducing the lengths of the times Exposed perks - Most of them will be pretty useless if/when it comes back into the meta.

What site is this that's cool. To what you actually said though it does hardly work. I know most people just use it for the distance because I do a lot of the time too. Though the perk tells you it can let you avoid a hit if I remember the description right. That part of the perk hardly works and if you watch devstreams they themselves said it doesn't work as well as it should and that's why its getting the coding change. I don't need you to tell me that i'm ignorant because I'm well aware and I also never said it wasn't used a ton. That'd be silly to say because I always use it and if I don't have it I don't play the character until I've gotten it.
I made a direct correlation between you stating, "just get good and read the perk its so easy," and your level of knowledge.
If this is incorrect, it's my bad.

Could call your whining about a perk that hardly works a whiny killer post 😂. Just get good and read the perk its so easy. It needs no change The only change it is getting is a coding change so it can work as it should with dedicated servers in mind instead of the peer to peer coding it works on.
If you think it 'hardly works,' you're ignorant as to how it is used optimally.
There's a reason it is picked so often.

Me too actually, i've been getting way better matches as killer and survivor.
My killer queue times have gone up though, but they're not that bad, it's usually <7 mins. I'm thinking more people want to play killer now that they have individual MMR.
Even though sbmm has gotten a lot of complaints i think that's just the vocal minority. They decided to push it to live after multiple tests so clearly a lot of people must have liked it.
My queues are long as killer, too :(
@GoodBoyKaru - Sure, so long as you take the queue times, too.
