We best not waste our time more, killers want us to stop complaining about NOED, but they think its ok to complain about dead hard/boon totems and now i notice a complaint post about iron will 😂. I am surprised that new vigil or built to last aint complain on YET but i wont hold my breath for long.
I think NOED is fine, personally, as do the majority given straw polls here and on Rediit.
Boons - Too early to tell, but I think they're fine aside from some totems in some already bad structures for killer. I honestly think that if Thrill kept its notification (with an added loud noise or aura for Boons) that all complaints would be null, as it would allow a universal perk to counter them if people constantly encountered them.
Built to Last - There have been a few complaint topics, but they're generally referring to the problem of overtuned items rather than the perk itself.
Vigil - Haven't seen any real feedback on it, which probably shows that the buff is fine/warranted.
With regards to Dead Hard...
1). Pre-Validation - If someone used it against a Pig Ambush, I could let the Ambush continue or do a 180/360 spin to hit them, depending on how it was used....now it eats the Ambush, requiring me to go into cooldown and recharge....Also eats Hillbilly saw.
2). Nemesis Tentacle vs Dead Hard Validation at a pallet does not get a hit OR break the pallet, requiring me to go into cooldown.
3). Survivors can use it to bodyblock/eat projectiles instead of having the projectile pass through them and hitting their friend. I've already experienced this a couple of times as Huntress and it sucks super hard.
....aside from outliers like this (and eating STBFL stacks if that's a thing) the perk is ok/the same in its current state. It's just unfortunate that it seems to punish certain skillful/mechanical actions on lesser played killers.

that might also just have something to do with the fact that the Claudette face is the only one of the four where you can actually tell that he is wearing a different mask than his standart one.
you're out here claiming its racist that the mask exists, but wouldnt it be just as, if not even more, racist to exclude Claudette from this series of unlockables just because she has a darker skin colour?
i have been playing this game since long before Bubba released and i have never met even a single person wearing that mask because they were trying to be racist or anything like that - including me, as i too like to run that mask.
thats just an assumption you are making that has absolutely no ground to stand on.
so whats comming next? calling every non japanese player racist for picking Spirit or Oni?
dont you see how ridiculous this topic is?
You're arguing with an alt/troll account, in case you were unaware.

To clarify, DH hit validation is fine in most cases, but being able to 'body block' various hits/projectiles with it for 'free' and being able to 'eat' certain powers that could still allow for a successful down depending on the DH timing should be addressed as it is 100% unfair.

what about this @MandyTalk, is this intended?
People talked about things like power whiffs/fatigues from day 1 of hit validation being applied to DH.
"It's fine" seems to be the response from most players/community.

I think Boon:Chocolate Milk would be a better idea.
While this Boon is active, all players can enjoy a glass of chocolate milk 1x per match.
Alternate versions will be available for lactose intolerant people BUT ONLY ONE KIND OF MILK CAN BE ACTIVE AT A GIVEN TIME - THE TYPE IS A MYSTERY UNTIL CONSUMED....MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

Honestly I feel like dead hard needs its own wind up sound like the grunt when huntress fully winds back her hatchets, or the metallic ring when deathslinger full aims down his sights.
I don't think that would work, as the intent of the perk is for it to be an 'instant action,' as opposed to a delayed one.

@glitchboi said:
A perk that practically gives you an extra health state and the ability to extend a loop is not fine. As I said in the NOED question, I would gladly rework both perks.
Not gonna lie - Your reply was kind of the inspiration for this topic.
Bless your Demo heart :3

There were talks of a survivor 'Husk' being left behind on a DC so killers can still get whatever stacks/hooks and survivors heal/unhook points, but it never materialized.

But so much topics are of complaints about boon totems though lol. its never a win, I think everyone wants us to run small game/detective over boons. But am sorry if am getting a way to heal myself for free and counter bbq and chili why should I run small game/detective over boons+maps?
I am sure that everyone is going to go for what is strong and not a joke of a perk, its like telling me to use no mither, and my god dont even get me started on people who run that perk, fun with swf but random queue. Yeah umm I rather not with that match.
Most perks are better in the hands of a better player, some up to the point of overkill as others have mentioned.
Boons + Map are a solid combo that can help deal with NOED if necessary. Bonus points if that's what you like running as it has double utility :D
Either way, don't let anyone else tell you what to use or how to play - they're not living your life or experiencing the game through your eyes.
-
NOED is fine, particularly with the existence of maps/anti-totem perks and Boons (that synchronize with the former).
Someone that is good at the game will do good with NOED....or any other perk, really.
Using this as the basis for an argument advocating for a change is not strong ground at all.

Thanks.
Always fun to see some positivity amidst the constant vitriol.

Not even bleeding them out for 4 minutes while you headbang to #IceNineKills ?
When people ready up, they're committing to any non-bannable outcome.
-
I've had everything from blood wipes to power fatigues.
If there aren't supposed to be any wiping animations, I'll edit my post, as that could have been some other weird latency issue (I've only played 3 games since patch).

Nah, I like to know just how robbed I was. If it just pretended I missed, I would be more disappointed.
Yeah. It's really nice to know that they're getting the Dead Hard distance + any additional distance they get from holding Shift-W while you're cooling down :D
If your ping is inferior, it's like they have a mini Sprint Burst ( or however much distance gained as speed is still 100 after DH dash).
-
Hit validation forcing killers into attack cooldown along with any additional penalties (ie losing stacks/fatigue) is pretty demoralizing.
Perk would be fine if the survivor just phased through as intended or the attack cooldown was cancelled as soon as the game realizes a hit didn't occur (would actually be a fair/consistent way to deal with hit validation on killer side)

Topic. Going down to 0 counter frenzy. Legit the only 0 counter within the game. Would rather verse old spirit which everyone complained had no counter when in reality old spirit had far more counters than this legion addon playstyle.
No I understand what I said. Killers should have counters no matter the skill cap. I do not care if it's hard.
But as it stands its impossible to counter legion like this. You will always get hit and go down.
No loop, vault, pallet, playstyle, perks, map etc. Can stop this. Meanwhile legion runs at a high speed, can vault all things as fast as you including pallets with 0 skill required other than being able to follow as a very fast basic attack killer.
Old nurse and spirit actually has more counter than this and actually required far more skill.
Does this mean I want everything nerfed? NO. In fact most killers needs buffs, but there should always be some form of counter or gameplay involved.
I dont get why people cant seem to read or grasp the issue. Yes legion is weak, does not mean he should have addons that make him 100% uncounterable like I described.
So yes I understand.
Cool.
Why didn't you complain about it previously when the only difference was an additional 2s on the DW timer?
This tactic has been in the game for a very long time - the only difference right now is a slight reduction in the number of actions you can take/ be forced to take before you can be downed with FF.

Each hit removes an extra 2seconds or something. People also dont understand your timer goes down if you do an action. I'm just saying its S*** to go down to something you cant do anything about...
Just not fun, I'm pretty fair and like a challenge hense why old spirit didnt bother me. This just has 0 counter play. Nothing you do, or read you make can help you.
You will 100% go down, no matter how good you are or bad the killer is
Only Stab Wounds Study was buffed.
What I said is correct.
It seems like you made this topic without understanding what is actually happening.
-
You could do this before unless I'm mistaken.
Now they just get 1 less action before you down them.
-
It's borderline busted in its current state - It's definitely a keeper O_O

Here is the thing, I actually agree with you that killers should take it easy if someone rage quits. I know I did not communicate this in my post.
But I do heavily disagree with the way you are acting here, you are insulting every killer that does not do what you want as selfish, tryhard and toxic. When it is actually you that is being selfish and toxic.
Are you being nice, empathetic and good when you are complaining and projecting all the responsibility of your fun to the killer?
Have you considered that maybe the killer in question has circumstances where they want to get into the next game quicker?
Where is your empathy that the killer might only have time for one or two games this week and wants to get done with a challenge that requires them to hook four different survivors in one game and when one survivor rage quit that was completely ruined?
Context matters.
Most people that have stopped replying have most likely already chalked op's tirade up to self-projection and a deficiency on their part.
Your analysis is certainly poignant and will hopefully cause them to pause for self-reflection.
Anecdotally, I've been destroyed on stage at various fighting games during my career - I've been teabagged/taunted in between hits during infinites in MvC2/3, popped off on when I can't burst during Overdrive in BlazBlue, etc.
After the match/tournament, I was usually buddy buddy with everyone, having a laugh and slamming drinks with these very people, while also being invited to side tourneys/cash games, movie hangs, etc.
Being unable to disassociate someone's in-game actions/persona/rp(in some cases) is absolutely a deficiency in mindset and understanding of reality vs fiction that only serves to limit your interactions in any community.
-
TIL that wanting to spend as little time as possible in an unfun/unfair/lopsided match to get to a better one is toxic :(

Is this an issue I should worry about? Are there actually hackers destroying consoles roght now?
I wouldn't worry about it without any real evidence.

Real shame that the killer wanted to complete their objective and try to kill everyone.
Hopefully, this gets fixed in the future with bot killers.
In the meantime, at least you have enough spare time so that crawling away and bleeding out for 4 minutes w/o UB/SG isn't detrimental to your free time.

Mineguy at least provided a better description of what happened to him but to me it's not clear if they're the same event (i.e. they're the friend of the other one and they were in the same game) and neither has been particularly communicative past their initial posts. Guaranteed they're upset and likely contacting customer support and getting their warranties in order and trying different solutions or whatever but right now we have 2 isolated cases with limited information. You'd think this would be a tad bit more widespread.
So what're we all gonna do? Freak out instead of getting information clarified apparently.
Way of the world, unfortunately.

You ever seen how most people submit their bug reports? People here are very inattentive.
I'd like to see hard evidence as well.
There are apparently multiple people on here with the same issue - Shouldn't be too hard for at least one person to provide a video with the error message/code/nothing/etc.

STBFL on any Killer can win games thanks to the reduced cooldown on both Hook and Exit Gate hits.
It also serves to slightly shorten chases and, sometimes, can even function similarly to Dead Hard by allowing a 2nd hit before the survivor can get to an unused zone/pallet.
It's generally praised as one of the best killer perks as its only downside is having to avoid hitting the obsession, which many killers have ways to circumvent. (Trapper, Billy, Plague w Corrupt, Huntress, Legion can FF for pressure, Pig, Demo, Trickster, Cannibal, Pinhead with Fang for pressure, Twins, and so on).
It's not hard to use, but if you don't see its immense value/clutch potential, you're probably not playing with it in mind.

I mean, I guess I expect more than what I view as the bare minimum of community care from a content creator.
Not knocking anyone who finds enjoyment or insight in his videos, and I'm not saying much against him as a person - we just don't jive, and that's okay.
I don't subscribe to or watch Otz a lot, but I've seen a lot of nice things when I do catch him/someone links me to a video (like in the OP).
He's helped other users gain their own followings, raided channels doing charity/fundraising streams for various causes, hosted said channels, done 3+ hour videos on multiple topics to assist new/struggling players (ie explaining how every perk in the game works), etc.
What is your definition of adequate community care?

Perhaps. Or perhaps they'll say that 'There's still no blockchain technology in the game and you can't trade NFTs in DBD' as an attempt at weaseling their way out. They're chatting up Epic Games on twitter apparently, so they might be fishing for a contingency plan.
For some reason, I don't think they'll do anything to risk their multi-million dollar IP.

Seems like DBD is unphased.
