  • Additionally, I don't suppose you'd be willing to stream some of your own Hag gameplay.

At 700+ wins, I'm sure there are lots of people that would love to see you in action/how you play to add it to their repertoire.

This would blow me away lol. I would love to hear what any of them would have to say / answer any of their questions.

I know Scott has been pretty nice about responding to stuff here as of late.

I believe he recently made a video based on someone's request here, too.

I don't always agree with his actions/opinions, but that was a super rad move, for real.

Yup! Dowsey had 199 4Ks in a row on Twins.

His win condition was more stringent than mine, as a single key escape ended his streak, but I allowed it, as I say in my post.

I think a lot of streamers could win for a year, but it would make for very boring content. Same build on the same killer, sweating every game for a year? Who is watching that?

I am not better than Dowsey or Space Coconut or Michi or Otz. They (and a lot of others) could do this easily and probably with more than 1 killer.

I do not think they could do it easily at all.

I'd be interested to see what some of the streamers on here think.

@ScottJund @Michi @CoconutRTS (these are the only three people I know of here that fall into said category) - Any way to get a weigh-in/opinion, please?

Could be an interesting topic of discussion/pov.

    My bad it wasn't a 800+ win streak but a 800+ killstreak

He's at 100 win streak here:

    https://youtu.be/MhpVbC9Oy0g

Then 200 here, but there's no gameplay just MMR issues:

    https://youtu.be/gRdk2RLwTBw

    No problemo.

I thought this was what you were referencing - He's a solid player, for sure.

IIRC, he was blown up in MMR because he had to get one of his pal's comp teams to queue or it matched them against said team?

    Thanks for getting back!

  • No one that argued in favor of stretched res was ever doing so thinking that it did nothing.

People that used it/knew what it did.....used it and/or knew what it did.

The highest winsteak I've seen, which is 3-4k, is like 800+ on Twins so I'm not surprised someone could get one Hag who's better than them. Glad I could learn something a killer I never play or go against.

Who performed this streak? I'd like to take a lookeroo.

You are commenting a lot in the thread and on Reddit, so I figured I would answer you, finally. I am not trying to prove I won 700+ games. I did, but that is really not the main takeaway I want people to have.

I don't mind at all if you think I am lying about the games. I just want people to read the post and learn how to play against solid hag players.

Exploits, keys, RNG, etc all affected my games, but I stayed on top of the news and made sure I played extra nasty when I suspected people of trying to abuse them. I ran franklins almost every game to deal with items, too. I did not need 3 gens very often as survivors rarely got to the last gen.

I get that you will absolutely not believe any of this, and I don't care to argue about whether it is possible. There is no proof that I can give you that will satisfy your skepticism and that is fine. I address this in the post itself.

I posted from a new account, I have nothing to gain or lose from this post. I learned a lot about this rarer killer and want to share what I know with the community.

I do not believe it at all.

I am also well aware that, on the internet, people can be prim/polite/proper while still being dishonest - There's a very obvious reason that your thread is not gaining any steam on reddit.

Either way, I hope you continue to enjoy and support the game.

I'm taking this as Hag is OP and deserves to be nerfed. 700 games is a long win streak for 1 killer so it proves everything to me.

Thanks for proving this to me 😁👍

I doubt there are any players in the game that have won 700 matches in a row on either side, regardless of character/loadout used.

To further clarify, there are scenarios, bugs, exploits, etc that have come up during the past year that make such a claim virtually impossible.

In addition, certain maps also make this claim straight up impossible as it is not possible to control a significant enough area unless RNG blesses you with a 3-gen.

  • I'm sorry you have to deal with all the people that don't know how simple and easy it is to string together hundreds of wins and thousands of kills in a row.

It was still pretty easy with the Breakout bug and when chests were bugged, giving an overabundance of keys.

Just had to know how to counter it - This is where the hidden knowledge comes into play.

  • @Clowning said:

And on top of that you've managed to type 7 000 words without saying anything of value. Incredible.

You're just jealous that you're not on their level, obviously.

The knowledge that flows from their words is insanely valuable.

Stuff like use CI on a trap based killer and MYC is good on Hag isn't something low tier players understand.

This guy/gal might even be as good as me, someday, but 700 wins in a row on one killer is pretty weak and easy, not gonna lie.

I noticed you made this account at 3:15 PM Today and then you posted this at 3:16 PM. Seems a little SUS. But I reckon this is a troll post.

    I believe them, 100%.

I'd show you my personal 11,200 kills in a row on DBD stats, but I'm opting not to because of all the killer hate for us 'flex mains.'

I can, however, provide you generic information on your killer of choice if you need counterplay tips and/or perk advice.

Sure, it may all be commonly known, but I think my 4 years of 4k's (I only wanted to do it for 4 years because it matched up with 4k, and was WAY harder than the 3 years of 3k's challenge that has been floating around for a few years) more than speaks to the weight behind my words.

  • I won all my killer games for 4 years straight.

    4k only.

Played all the killers, too - You know I like a challenge.

  • Nurse Gen teleport is surely a huge issue, being that it doesn't exist and all.

  • You seem to have done quite good that game, especially given your incomplete perk build and add-on choice.

  • -Exposed Meat-

Cannibal - Hex Undying/Devour Hope/Haunted Grounds/NOED - These perks, combined with your saw, make it pretty easy to down people in 1 hit at all stages of the match - Also allows snowballing with HG/DH/NOED.

    -Speedy Feet-

Nightmare - Pallet Add-On w/ Gen Sound Add-on - Fire-Up/Brutal Strength/POP/Lethal Pursuer - Get into a chase ASAP and burn through as many pallets as possible. Fire-Up/Brutal/POP all synergize.

censorship is rampant everywhere these days, and part of the effect is when nothing is seen, well, they don't notice the censorship. With Evil Dead coming in february and them being unwilling (even having stated it many times in the past) to balance the game for sweaty matches while introducing a system that will eventually make most matches feel sweaty once a player reaches their personal 'elo' I won't be surprised if they start deleting anything that threatens the bottom line like the pinhead changes thread that got closed so fast it only had time to get two replies that somebody made. (removed it's link to remove one potential excuse but another will be made up anyways if they wanna hit this post).

They said nothing "out of line", it simply got closed because they wanna sell pinhead to killer players next week. And they won't be including a survivor with him to still give people an incentive to buy a killer that received some nerfs before his release (SWF WILL abuse the box changes and some killers will see practically nothing but swf after mmr) when he actually needed some buffs from his test server state instead. So they have to rely on only killer players to buy this one, at another bad point in the game's life for killers (I assume they couldn't license a survivor, or else they would have if 'the price was right' since it would have been smart to not exclude 4 out of 5 potential buyers). If any post does get hit of mine, it'll likely be this one because of talking about this when they're releasing him next week. But some other reason will likely be given as an excuse so that it couldn't be something obvious and screenshotted to be posted elsewhere drawing ire. heh.

Given all the games that have tried to compete with DBD and died (including F13), it'd probably be a smart move to wait until someone gets their hands on the game (Evil Dead) before making any assumptions.

Given your user name and previous posts, though, I doubt you will.

Either way, I hope the game is enjoyable for everyone upon release :3

Not too bad from my experience either.

Just my Billy- and Nurse-games were strange. I tested those two specifially, because I am bad with Nurse and Billy was bugged during basically every test before.

With Billy, I got harder Matches, which indicates that I faced too weak Survivors before. With Nurse, I got Baby Survivors, so I am most likely at least better than those with her, lol.

But all should adjust over time.

I had a similar experience with my Billy games.

I think it was due to lack of data/previous tests being bugged, like you said.

I had a lot of interesting Cannibal and Trapper games, though.

Some of them were 4 man escapes, admittedly, but the matches were super interactive and it was totally possible for me to 4k if I had made different decisions - I think matches like this, wherein you know/realize what cost you/won you the game, are a pretty good standard to strive for.

Ah yes. So because your experience did not match mine. That means what exactly ? Let me tell you what mine was literally ALL weekend during the test. Miserable sweat fests with SWFS slamming out gens in 4 minutes. But you know "just play better" I must of just magically forgotten how to play killer and run tiles. I watched otz and other killers with 8000 hours get dunked on. I guess they forgot how to play as well 🤷

My issue is the fact that they're implementing a bullshit system before fixing the balance problems of DBD.

My issue is how strong most maps are for survivors to even abuse them. My issue is they're doing nothing to fix gen speeds before this system

My issue is BHVR is notoriously slow. My issue is how miserable killer will be for potentially years before they "get around to it"

I've seen them have good games as well, depending on who they used - The archives are publicly available.

Additionally, you realize the skill gap and time investment between yourself and people that play for 8-10+ hours a day?

You're probably not on the same level at all.

If you're not happy, there are lots of other games to play.

    Have you tried Civilization?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2468568#Comment_2468568

I assume it's going to work the same as you do. Here's the thing

Maps and gen speeds are such bullshit. It doesn't reflect true skill.

This system is going to fall in to 2 categories. Killers constantly getting dumpstered by survivors who know how to abuse broken map design. Then the second half. Which is they derank so much they face baby survivors who don't know how to.

What exactly about that sounds fun ? Getting broken maps used against you over and over and over again ? Finally having ######### enough matches that you get babies ? Then stomping a few babies until you get the survivors who can abuse maps again ?

Weird how that doesn't reflect my own experiences with the system (or the majority, from the posts I've seen).

It's pretty disingenuous to speak using only the two extremes of the system without acknowledging the huge zone in-between.

Seems like your issue is with people knowing how to play the game and/or the game itself, moreso than the matchmaking.

  • What's the issue, then?

You're not going to be able to perform well enough with certain killers to constantly face/remain with teams of superior caliber, unless you know something I don't about how it works.

  • @BrokenSouI said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2468515#Comment_2468515

Yeap. Nice and "fair" matches with 4 hooks and all gens being done... Balance

If you can't keep up, you'll get bumped down.

If you're doing well enough to reach that tier, you most likely are playing an appropriate killer/have a playstyle that can keep up.

Seems you don't really know how this thing even works.

  • I'm just going to play how I normally do and have fun.

    Shocking turn of events, apparently.

  • NOED? Remember Me? Blood Warden? No Way Out?

Either way, you sure destroyed them - It will be a grand tale to tell The Entity as you float off into oblivion.

  • *Wraith reads letter*

    *returns to sender as is*

  • You are not obliged to do bones, just like killers are not obliged to run NOED.

I know it is shocking that something in the game may be left up to both RNG and player agency (a first in DBD, it appears), but you're free to do whatever/play however you like.

  • Cleansing totems has never impacted my solo survivor games very much.

If I see a totem/hex en route to wherever I'm going, I cleanse it.

If I'm running my Hunch/IS build, it's not unusual for me to get 3+

  • I use Claudette/Feng/Steve and play all killers.

I used to run alert all the time and it never showed this for me. Either it was a bug that got fixed or its a bug now that it shows...

The perk says it only shows auras when killers use the "Break" action (IE pressing space in front of a gen/pallet)

And Stalin was a dictator that liked to kill Russians.

Just because it's in the game does make it good. It's a low-skill tactic that highly rewards a player which is just flat out bad game design. It also prevent another player from being able to play the game, which is also bad game design.

Please seek help if you think minimizing tragedies like this is in any way acceptable.

  • I enjoy playing both sides in their current state.

I don't really find either role particularly stressful or difficult.

Sometimes I'll get blown up, but it's pretty rare.

The things that make matches interesting on either side for me are never knowing if person A knows that they should do X in a particular situation and/or stuff like expecting someone to do X and they do Y, even if it's an insane or risky play.

I treat the game like a fighting game, in terms of mentality - it's up to me to open the opponent up, and they can use whatever they have to prevent me from doing so / to do the same to me.

I don't want 5-5 matchups every game. Give me a 6-4, give me a 9-1, tunnel me, face camp me, whatever.

If every match was the same regardless of killer/loadout choice/solo/swf, the game would actually die - it would be boring.

The fact that the game still experiences growth should indicate that things are moving in a positive direction.

Well the thread is partially my opinion, based on my overall experience and observations, so I don't see why I can't.

If we only used cold hard facts to judge DBD literally nothing would be changed because the game is so RNG dependent and the devs drip-feed us the actual numbers.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2460468#Comment_2460468

I've already said this already but I think you can do the same with Sprint Burst with less drawbacks.

Again, I'm not saying Dead Hard is a bad perk, but I think people overblow just how good it is and write off the many scenarios in which it does absolutely nothing.

    Congratulations!

You never forget your first Sluzzin'!

  • @TGB said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/275933/dead-hard-is-overrated-and-overhated

Alright, let's see what we got in here. I'll respond to the OP first, then go through the thread and see if there's anything else.

    Responses to your listed downsides:

    • Yes, consistency in DH timing to dodge a direct swing from a Killer is rough. However, I view this usage of DH to be Plan B. Ideally, you are holding DH to get to that obstacle you aren't otherwise going to reach. This can buy you at least one additional loop rotation, if not a total escape. That's Plan A. So the inconsistency of using DH to hard-dodge a swing isn't much weight in my eyes.
    • It is less distance, but it's on-command nature has a lot of effective weight to it. Gaining 3 meters to reach a window, versus gaining 6 meters to do nothing, seems like the superior path to me. That being said, Sprint Burst is a preventative measure, and is a lot of effective weight when used right. However, the downsides of Sprint Burst seem too great to me. You either shackle yourself to walking in order to have Sprint when you want it, or you free yourself of those shackles but won't have Sprint whenever you want. There is, of course, the medium zone where you plan things well, and wouldn't NEED Sprint during the times you don't have it. But you can't plan for everything, and this requires a HUGE skill ceiling anyway.
    • This only applies to Plan B. With Plan A usage, it doesn't matter if they know.
    • This is kind of a repeat point you make, but yes, again, this only applies to Plan B.

Would I say Dead Hard is overrated?

I wouldn't personally say so, however if it is technically overrated, that doesn't necessarily mean it ISN'T the best exhaustion perk, either. Something can be overrated while still being the best.

In my opinion, the only competition is Sprint Burst, with its pros and cons that I think I already described. Additionally, I'd say the only point that could bring Sprint Burst above Dead Hard is the fact that Sprint Burst could prove more useful in games against Killers with insta-downs. But you can't know that beforehand, so, I dunno. Maybe if that's what you struggle the most against, it could be your pick.

But for general use, and even against Killers with insta-downs, Dead Hard is generally more useful, because it's ALWAYS useful. And the only downside is the injured requirement, which I'd say is far less than Sprint Burst's downside of being attached to the run button.

Thanks for taking the time to reply to my tag!

  • @TGB You may find this discussion interesting based on your previous postings.

Yes, but also, if you happen to be in a dead zone, you might as well use it and buy the team another second...

    ----

Judging anything based on poor usage is silly. Dead Hard is very obviously the best exhaustion perk, barring facing Killers that will insta-down you. (Which, I guess could raise a fair argument, I suppose.)

Being an on-command distance maker lets you control how it's used, which I'd say only Lithe shares (however, Lithe is way too map-dependent). So yes, as mentioned, you use Dead Hard to reach an object you weren't going to otherwise reach. And that's huge.

While Sprint Burst activates whenever you run, which gets clunky and promotes more walking than you may want to do.

And Lithe, as I said, is map-dependent. For example, it's basically an empty perk slot on the Stranger Things map.

Balanced Landing is nice but also very obviously map dependent, and would probably be a better perk if it wasn't an exhaustion perk and simply always muted big fall screams and made you land better... (No speed boost on it.)

And the locker one, what can I even say?

I'll tag you in a thread that you may find a good/amusing read related to your viewpoint.

  • Doesn't bother me - I realize it's all part of the game and that players have their own agency.

  • The reason many people run Dead Hard is that it is the best exhaustion perk in the game that provides the best chance for survival when used at the proper/optimal times.

  • @Yords said:

How am I skipping a health state exactly? They still have dead hard, that is pretty much a free health state. Also you are being unreasonably rude for no reason too.

It's most likely a defensive mechanism to cover for their weak argument against something that's universally known at most levels of gameplay (further exemplified by stats, content creators, majority of normal players in this topic, etc - basically every metric used to determine such things in this game).

As embarrassing as it is, you may as well take it as a sign of concession and stop wasting your time on such toxic and ignorant behavior.

  • His buffed movement speed is innate and immediately accessible, so it allows players of all skill levels to pressure gens and find survivors faster to initiate chases.

He has an audio queue when near (snarls - cannot be removed), a visual queue when near, and an audio queue when using his power (can be removed/manipulated but snarls still remain).

He also has counterplay in both windows and pallets, and doesn't really gain much time/distance trying to use his power in chase due to the time sinks of cloaking and uncloaking.

Cloak mind games are also not terribly strong due to pallets and windows, while also costing him additional time trying to bait/position the survivor when they do work.

His universal access and ease of use is a problem for some as they view him as low skill and hard to counter, although there are counters to his stealth such as Spine Chill and general situational awareness.

I really think that most people have no issue with Wraith, if we're being honest, and I doubt anything he has will be changed or addressed in the near future.

Overall, Wraith is great at getting to the survivors, but weak in chase. I'd imagine that most of the complaints regarding him come from players that don't like the disruptive nature of his play style (hit n run) coupled with his ease of use.

For everyone else, he's just another mid-upper mid-tier killer that, at the very least, provides interactive gameplay and decision making on both sides.

  • NOED is the flavor of the month, followed closely by Blight, then Dead Hard.

  • @Johnny_XMan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2458145#Comment_2458145

I mean, the same thing can be said about Lithe, SB and BL.... "Oh there is a window there, I just remembered they had Lithe", "Working on a gen injured, Oh yeah they have SB, so they are going to commit".... etc etc. None of the exhaustion perks fall outside of that question you just asked, none. The only thing you are changing is the scenario in which they happen at.

You mention ranged killers, which the same rules apply. You can dodge a Nurse hit with DH, just as much as you can with SB. In fact, with SB is far worse because you can do it through 2 blinks.

You are never going to 100% know if someone has SB or not. Like the example above, this perk doesn't require positioning, because you can be in a very dead area and get to a safe area before the killer is close enough to get a hit. Something which DH doesn't have.

I also don't understand the notion that DH is "too" good on good survivors, but if the survivor has more experience with that exhaustion perk, that would....make sense? Some people despise being chased, so they hide well and they opt to have SB instead. Some people like to be chased more so they choose DH over any other perk. The logistics for exhaustion perks are very different IMO. So we can sit here and chat about scenario A/B/C/D/E and which one would be a better option. What I am not going to do is fault someone for being "too good" for a perk.

The reason many people run Dead Hard (contrary to popular belief) is because many people like to engage in a chase. Because that is where they find fun in this game. They don't want to be the player holding M1 and hiding all the time. It is the only perk that efficiently works while looping, because if there were more I can guarantee you they'd be used as well.

The reason many people run Dead Hard is that it is the best exhaustion perk in the game that provides the best chance for survival when used at the proper/optimal times.

There's nothing wrong with this - It's ok to use whatever you want.

exhausted on the ground is a meme at this point

why are you acting like i'm the first person to claim that dead hard is inconsistent?

Being exhausted on ground doesn't really factor into the optimal/most consistent way that competent players (in terms of Dead Hard usage) choose to use it.
