By all means offer your own skills to BHVR to fix resolution scaling and stop it.
Is it my job to provide fixes for the problems that have been discovered and acknowledged for years?
Is it my job to provide tech support for the game that I AM paying for?
Stop being ridiculous please.

@not_Queen confirmed in Tru3Tal1nt's stream a while back that it was. I cannot find the exact VOD but there's a forum post about it form that time to back up my point of it indeed existing.
Please do not go and comment on, or necro, this thread. Its simply here to back me up that it did, in fact, happen.
They said that the team "want to deal with it" but "there are more important exploits to deal with first" according to thsi Steam Forums post here:
https://steamcommunity.com/app/381210/discussions/0/2278205083637089099/?ctp=2
Is not_Queen a suitable dev or would you like me to get someone else?
So it's been a year since the exploit was acknowledged and 4 years since it's been discovered by players. Brilliant.

Although I'm not a dev or mod, it is an exploit as it's an unintended mechanic that can be abused by altering something outside of the game, similar to the J flick.
I need a direct confirmation from a dbd team member

In 5 years, knowing bhvr.
knowing bhvr in 1-2 next patches, since it's a killers tech.
At the same time, stretched res still remains unfixed for years.
-
They should just add "no same perks" rule for survivors and allow them too see each others perks.
-
Funny thing is how devs didn't do and won't do anything about stretches res exploiters.
-
I started to exploit colourblind setting because seeing blood with them is so easier
/s
-
I won't be against a rework or buffs.
My personal hopes for:
Either infinite evil cap on survivors OR evil slowly restores on each survivor
Memento mori basekit (similar to PHeads memento, maybe it'll allow to kill survivors on death hook who you have stalked for a certain time)
-
I don't even understand how people can complain when playing against trickster at all.
Even if he was using pre-nerf mories, he is just so laughably weak that winning wouldn't be too hard in any case.
-
But we all know devs won't do a ######### to address stretched res.

When you fill someone's laceration meter any one else with any amount of laceration has it immediately removed/healed.
I noticed this in a game where I was at 6 hours after running the killer for a while and he switched and knives another survivor and she became injured quickly and I no longer had any laceration.
It's pretty dumb.
What?
It can't be this ridiculous...
-
Because whenever killers discover a tech it is instantly called an exploit by survivors.
However when survivors discover a tech they do their best to protect it and say how different it is from an exploit.
Seeing this happening over and over for years just makes me sick tbh
-
Yes
-
People camp and tunnel because they don't get punished for that by survivors.
Literally 9/10 matches where I decide to fully camp/tunnel to have different pace I see survivors literally dying to make me stop chasing/camping one particular survivor which predictably ends up with a disaster for them.
The greed is like the second biggest problem survivors have after arrogance.
-
This perk has more counterplay than old DS and DH combined.
It's totally fine.
Only time there could be excuses of not being able to deal with it is when you're dealing with ultra try-hard spirit/nurse/blight, but even in that case you just leave/die while team leaves.
-
Don't care, I stopped buying characters for money since Twins.
If it's licensed, I'll wait till week after live release at least to buy new character and I'll buy them only if there's nothing wrong with them.
Although that would be the case if I even reinstall the game in the first place

@RPGWolfGamer23 said:
Isn't Trickster default speed (110% m/s) during Main Event though, or is that still bugged from PTB?
He definitely runs slower.
Also, even if he does run 110%, running around a rock still counters him as he needs direct LoS on survivor which can be tricky to accomplish when running around the rock since survivor moves by a smaller trajectory than the killer because of smaller hitbox.
-
I never saw any problem with stridor spirit tbh, you just stealth against her.
I also never saw any problem with iri heads because you're just playing against ordinary huntress with 2 less hatchets and no chance for mistake.
I never saw any problem with J-flick, since it's not difficult to dodge, but it adds more depth in gameplay.
-
Played for 4 hours, 1 hour was playing for adept (got it after playing literally without power against potatoes), had the worst experience possible despite my huge experience on other killers, including huntress, plague and deathslinger.
Is that enough to give feedback or should I waste a literal month before saying new killer's power is dogshit?
-
@PubStar87 said:
Except there's no humanly possible FACKIN way to deal with it. Just dead, instantly, every time, to these cross-play PC jerks with 360 no scope mice setups. Super fair.
The same thing you do against normal huntress with an exception you can take one less hatchet and she has 2 less hatchets?
I never understood the problem with iri heads tbh. It is strong, yeah, but there's nothing impossible. Just play more careful and that's the same huntress you know
-
SWF comms still exist
Keys still exist
DH for distance still exists
And many other things still exist.
Iri huntress isn't more often than an occassional key. Deal with it.

@Ghoste said:
No Way Out maxes at 42 seconds, by the way.
Also, getting Blood Warden to proc will be unlikely since you need the gate to be open already, which your other perks aim to prevent. They kinda contradict each other. Maybe swap it for something like Bitter Murmur so you can guarantee a down or two with NOED when the gens pop.
Oh, yeah, thanks, I forgot how to count I guess.
-
Keys just need two simple fixes:
Can't open hatch until exit gates are powered
Can't open hatch if it was closed by the killer.
That's it, all key problems are fixed. Even key midchase is less notorious than survivors getting a free way out in a situation where they didn't earn their victory.
-
@HealsBadMan said:
Swap NOED with Rancor- you want the Obsession dead so they can't quickly open an Exit Gate. It'll also give you info throughout the match, so you can find Survivors more easily and get those Remember Me and No Way Out tokens.
Yeah, I thought about rancor too, though it means only one quick down.
Although if I slap it on a killer like Oni or Myers, it'll work just fine.
-
Funny enough I got it in like 3 hours after chapter release.
I played for like an hour and then uninstalled because that killer was just too much.
-
Dude, that would make all exposed/instadown powers useless.
No, bad idea.
-
@tactic said:
Why should we endorse an unfair feature that takes away a big part of a character’s counterplay, that needs a specific setup to accomplish meaning it isn’t available to most players?
I’m a killer main but defending j-flick as a balanced feature is a new level of bias - Blight is already good enough
You can counterplay it, just make not a 180, but a 360 juke.
If anything, it making playing as and against blight even more skillful.
Without that flick, blight's lunge become hilariously easy to dodge.
-
@vacaman said:
Its funny because people were making fun of me when i said exactly that on PTB and they were saying that he was op and Spirit 2.0 and i was a crybaby for calling it to be mega buffed.
I called him second legion.
Too bad I underestimated how old legion'y he actually was

@BioX said:
are we just going to ignore that trickster has a waaaay easier time hitting their opponent and that survivors can go from wounded to slugged in no time flat?
Just as easy as pucking on them, with an exception that neon knives travel bigger distance.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/238991/imagine-plague-that
Well plague is super strong, but nobody uses her because most people don't like that type of killer , they need to make it so infections very very slowly puts you in dying so you can't just not cleanse
>super strong
>suggests buffs for her
I guess even you don't think the problem is her playstyle.

@papabear2009 said:
It boggles my mind why they released him in this state....like an OP killer is gonna sell better so what the hell were these devs thinking.
Yeah, but then comes nerfing part :( It always feels bad even if it fixed really op things.
Although considering their pace of releasing updates, that might`ve been for the better.
Just imagine that we're stuck with current trickster for likely 4,5 more months (till next-next midchapter, since that's when devs are supposed to take a look at trickster).
-
j-flick allows to somewhat deal with that stupid thing where survivor just makes a 180 juke to dodge your hit easily when you lunge at them.
Removing it would really hit playing blight against people who know that his lunge is hardcapped and extremely easy to dodge.

It’s kinda a problem that console players can’t do those things since with cross play it means they are at an inherent disadvantage
Console players are already at huge disadvantage when playing against PC players, so what?

This it being called a risk vs reward perk. If no one's getting hooked, I get no stacks but that means we're winning anyways.
I really hope you don't find noed problematic

@Seraphor said:
Why would you uninstall it now, when the other 23 killers that were there two days ago are still there today?
Guess you don't see that the reason I deleted the game isn't just because the new killer is bad, but rather because it is pointless to play it if it keeps going the worst direction possible for the last 6 months
-
@Seraphor said:

...why not?
Seems like a pointless argument of futility. "They haven't bothered to do it yet so they never will you might as well give up."
In which, case, why are you here?
Just get lost, I'm not going to bother arguing with you since it's pointless to prove something to people seriously thinking that if devs promised something 4 years ago and still haven't done anything to fulfill that promise, then they will do it later.

I don't see anyone defending stretch. Pretty sad to wish that in a video game.
Should've read the thread more carefully to see people acting like stretched res isn't bad.
-
So sick of people attacking jflick (something that actually takes skill to use despite not being an intended feature) and defending stretched res at the same time.
Wish the worst for such people.

I really cannot believe how arrogant this community is.
No, we don't know what goes on inside the developers' heads. The only prideful thing here is you assuming you know what the developers are thinking and that they're oh so complaisant.
Developing a game is a hard task. Especially because BHVR is a mid-sized company, and DBD is really their first experience with a serious game, it can be difficult to operate with such resources. Plus, especially with COVID, I think they've been a bit on their toes with their release schedule, having to coordinate everything between departments in a timely fashion. They already had to delay trickster; they're clearly working on a time crunch.
Moreover, it's hard to take "community feedback" because who represents the community? Oftentimes, it's the minority who speaks the loudest. Not only that, but they still have to adhere to their rigid schedule of releases. They'll probably buff trickster some day, but they clearly didn't have time now. It's not arrogance, the only arrogant thing here is to assume that BHVR's ego is the problem. It's just that they have too much on their plate, with the 3-month release guarantee.
"midsized company"
that earns millions and that easily gets extremely famous licenses.
With the amount of cashgrabs they've put in the game since 2019, they must deliver the best content possible yet they ######### their pants with every chapter release.
Also, covid isn't an excuse. There's a vaccine and the threat is gone.
-
Visuals are good.
Gameplay is awful.
Well, a step forward from a bottomless pit binding of kin was. There was no gameplay and no visuals
Maybe next chapter would be both visuals and gameplay, but I guess I'm wanting too much from BHVR
-
Dude, money grab is something people are willing to buy.

In the slightlest, release Legion couldnt be avoided at all, if he stabbed you once you were going down no matter what you did, pallets did nothing, vaults did nothing, there wasnt a single thing you could do to stop him unless he messed up.
That was the only strength old legion had.
Trickster on the other hand lacks this strength, but possesses all and even more weaknesses
-
@Seraphor said:

And penalise people for playing with their friends? Nah.
Buff solo survivors instead, then buff killers accordingly.
- Allow survivors to see each others perks and item loadouts in the lobby, so they know the capabilities of their team mates.
- Allow survivors to display short, preset messages in game that appear next to their portrait. Things like "Killer is here" "All clear" "Help me" and "Leave me". Give it like a 30s cooldown so it can't be spammed, but it remains on screen for ~10 seconds. Maybe even has a direction indicator when it goes off so you can kinda tell where they are without Kindred/Empathy etc.
This will allow solo's a greater ability to coordinate with each other, bringing them closer to SWF levels.
Once SWF and Solo are closer in ability, then better balance can be achieved and you can see what needs to be buffed or nerfed. Likely gen speeds or early game objectives.
This solution isn't working because it's been 4 years since devs promised such and nothing has been really done

That's a bit flawed. The biggest complaint with Old Legion wasn't that they were weak but that they had no counterplay and were the killer equivalent of nails on chalkboard. Trickster has so much counterplay it's not even funny, which means that his biggest complaint is that he's weak.
I repeat for the last time, their similarity is that they are both the easiest killers of their kind who have to land a lot of "weak" hits on a survivor to empty a "second health bar" to deal damage. That's their main mechanical similarity that makes them alike and different from other killers.
As I also said, that was and is their main problem.

*laughs in oni whos power forces him to slug since it cancels on pickup*
It was like that on PTB when he also lost a good portion of it.
On live it just deactivates and keeps all remaining charges, so if anything it forces you to down a survivor and pick them up to have quicker access to the power later, with an option to spend it all for slugging.
-
@Phasmamain said:
That would probably encourage you to slug a lot more which isn’t really fun for either side
Just revert the overheat dissipation rate nerf after the patch
Or just get rid of the overheat.
That mechanic is just a handicap for good players.

When I think "Old Legion", I think "zero counterplay/weak killer". That doesn't describe Trickster.
When I think about old Legion my first thought is an easy to use killer who has to land a lot of hits (shots) to do damage and who's weak exactly because of that since he can't really end chases fast.
I guess that's because I almost never used the exploit or the notorious frank's mixtape.
-
@MadLordJack said:

Trickster has the exact same counterplay as Huntress. Legion had no counterplay at all. They are incomparable for that reason alone
You can't deny they are very similar nonetheless.
