Otz recently posted a video where 70-80% of all survivors he went against for a few day span ran dead hard. How are the devs, notoriously focused solely on data, able to justify not ######### nerfing this perk? Are they going to let the player count reach zero? That's what it's looking like.
Remember when they said new killers would get touched up during the next mid chapter patch? What happened to that? What happened to the key/mori change? What happened to the bloodpoint change?
So if DH nerfed, whats next?
I guess every survivor perks needs to be absolutely useless and killer mains to get 4k all the time.
-
Feng Min, she is the cutest.
I barely play killers, not enjoying the role at all
-
Its a lie spread by streamers.
Every year march-april is the lowest player numbers in dbd.
Nothing to do with state of the game.
Dowsey just want a game without mmr so he can 300 games in a row with 4k, like used to when there was on mmr in the game.

killer mains had NOTHING to do with keys getting nerfed.
like everything the devs test, survivors abuse them until they are forced to nerf them.
The main issue was that with one key every survivor could escape, the nerf was so extreme now that the whole mechanics are useless.
Survivors now only has medkit nothing else. Every other items are useless

I see at least a mori every day. But I haven’t seen a key since devs killed them
If you find a key in chest, thats like finding trash. Good for nothing

Yep, they are pretty useless now and that’s not a bad thing. I’d rather just have them deleted altogether because I never use them as survivors. When playing killer, having 2-3 survivors escape without completing the gens was one of the most frustrating things in the game and I’m glad that’s gone. I’d be fine adding something else to make the keys a bit more useful, but free escapes for multiple survivors was BS.
Once every gen is done, hatch should spawn
I played like 10 games and never saw hatch spawn, endgame collapse almost finished, and still several survivors stay.

Introduce the ability to turn in game chat off and on. BOOM. Problem solved. it's not like DBD has voice chat, you don't HAVE to listen. BHVR doesnt give the proper tools for players to make their own decisions.
Yeah its like if you dont like the content, just disable it, but nope.
Today the solution is to remove for everyone, and censor for everyone, just so others dont feel bad.
Nothing to be done, have to accept, this is how works now.

You dont want to hurt anyone feelings in 2022. Thats the world we live in today.

I've got this advice so many times recently, "don't go for a 4k. Let one, two or even three survivors escape always so your mmr stays low and you can actually have some fun playing killer" Is this how you play killer in dbd now? Lose the match on purpose so your mmr doesn't get too high and you can actually have fun? Basically just be afraid of mmr. Who came up with this awful matchmaking system which is so crap that it makes players wanna lose on purpose lol.
This is what I do, I get very chill games all the time as killer, I destroy survivors, but let them go therefore I can receive bad survivors as opponent all the time.
This is how you game the system. But in truth everyone wins, you as killer fun game, also survivors can escape so everyone is happy

I've done it more then a few times even on suspected cheating.
But The hoops we need to jump through to try and stop cheaters are very annoying.
I'm just glad that I don't run into too many that I can proove at least.
I'm venting I know but it's how I feel dammit
The game coded such a way that impossible to have inbuilt replay system.
The best way to imagine the current game system is that your games like nothing ever happened, the only way to have proof is if that you took a recording.
To change this, dbd 2 needs to happen, which as we all know wont ever be
-
Spirit Detective (same genre like dbd, killer is stronger than survivor at highest level)
Hearts of Iron 2(grand strategy computer game about ww2, my fav before adulthood)

Also tournaments banning several perks and addons. Nothing like real game

I might be wrong, but shouldn´t survivor be the stressful role? After all, someone wants to kill them and they have no way to "fight back".
According to dbd forum every killer needs to have counterplay even though the game is 1 vs 4.
So any decent survivor can waste so much of the killers time that playing as killer stressful because survivors controlling the game, and as a killer you can only react to their plays. Survivor = true killer in dbd
-
@Katzengott said:
Killers need survivors doing mistakes. The less mistakes they make, the harder it gets for the killer. (welcome to high MMR, it su**s)
But still, every killer has counterplay, some are just harder to counter (like nurse or old spirit).
Don't you see the problem?
Killer only reacting to survivor gameplay if a team plays well most killer can't do anything. So killer rely on other player input, survivors controlling the games.
But pre nerf slinger is unfair in your eyes because survivor couldn't counterplay, if killer won't make mistakes he should win.
But nope that's unfair, but survivors dictating everything fair.

You would max everything with 1000 hours in any online game. But in DbD, even 5000 hours players still have problem with grind? It's shame, they still did not rework grind system.
Coming in 2025

It definitely felt like something was up. My friend and I played it two games and logged off. Teammates were beyond bad. I'm about over the game at this point. It feels like there was no point in even logging on half the time due to matchmaking.
Killers now can have easy 4K.
The solution to play in 4 SWF, then you will win most of the time

But that's not a balance issue. Just teammates that rage quit. Which should be punished just like DC's.
Devs could buff survivors all they want, but there would still be people that rage quit because they lost a chase or are matched against a killer they don't like.
You cant communicate with your team that's balance issue
-
After the Stridor nerf she became unplayable for me, only to bullied by iron will users. Useless now.

@Tiufal said:
With this logic coms would been an issue in any koop-game. Like, go play some BR games you can play vs random groups or vs teams on comms. But no other game ever made an issue out of coms, but dbd players are crying like hell. Its obviously an issue on player mentality here.
And @DragonMasterDarren how about not telling lies about swf being unintended in first place. It was always an intended feature. This was already told thousand of times by BHVR.
Its clear that 4 SWF is the intended way to play DbD at least for me worked lot better than killer or solo survivor
-
Devs won't split the playerbase

In reality we will never get a new mode in dbd, too risky for devs

To hard to learn, you can play others who are very easy to learn and can perform almost as well

I think a system like this would be fine. When I want out of a match now, due to real world obligations, impossible to win (1 dead, 1 dc, and 5 gens left, etc), or RPD map, then I just run straight to the killer and then lead them to a hook where I wait.
The voting system even in the hands of a swf, would work like a resignation in chess. You lose graciously, admitting the other player is going to win. Grant the other side 10k bloodpoints to make it worth the time, and end the match immediately, and let everyone get back to more fun matches.
I think bonus bloodpoint bad idea, could be abused.
But yes this is my point if everyone want to surrender, should be an option
-
Surrender should be an option, for example of survivors are losing and they vote all for surrender, then game ends, and they lose and killer win. That's fair

Playerbase has started to decrease just after the SBMM release. It is the only thing that has changed, and it is the only thing that could cause that especially because the last chapters have added great IP : Pinhead, Sadako, Nemesis.
The game has just became unplayable, for both sides. As a survivor, you are facing campers every trials, every ######### trial it is a camper/tunneler. As a killer, if you play fair well, you have a hard time.
Its seasonal, always goes down till march April, then goes up. It already start to happen
-
Short story: Solving requires the game to be rewritten, dbd 2. Thats why wont happen. No anticheat can defend the game since its written such a faulty way, not suitable for multiplayer. Also for players this isnt big deal, for start most of still playing dbd, also the other half enjoying the cheats. Streamers said that on high mmr, up to 50% cheats in some way
-
Hoping yes
Expecting NO
-
@Plsfix369 said:
Just practice Nurse for a couple of weeks and you'll wreck teams in no time.
At high mmr, 50% of survivors using some kind of cheats, many streamers experienced first hand, you know those who playing the game for living.
At very least seeing every aura is the bare minimum cheats that cheaters are using, subtle speedhacks, faster gen repair etc so many cheater
-
The chat should be removed
-
@Posh_xp said:
I personally believe the devs should add information mechanics to bring solo que up to par with swf (seeing teammate auras when someone is hooked, an icon for when someone is in chase/repairing a generator, etc.) Then balance the game off of swf, this hopefully would allow fairer matches.
But the question remains why isnt that happening?
What could be the reason for the imbalance remain for so long?

Well since like 90% of the player base are survivor mains they will always favour survivors lol. The devs won't do anything about it except for a buff like "we decreased Legion's power cooldown by a whole 1 second"
True.
They are only buffing killers because the matchmaking so bad, the game needs more killer player.
But of course they cant nerf SWF or buff killers to SWF level because survivors would leave the game

That feels unfun for me though, like i should be rewarded for my hard work and not 4 survivors clicky and t-bagging at the exits. I'd rather not play at all.
Well here is the thing survivors refusing to play games where they arent favored.
Every other asymetrical where the power role is killer failed, due survivors refusing to play.
DbD's success is that the game caters towards them, recently killers got several buffs and the results survivors leaving the game
-
There is a way to enjoy killer, you play normally, and after you got 2 hooks on everyone you let every survivor go.
Your mmr will be lower, and can enjoy playing killer.
Thats how I did when played killer.
At high level survivors can play then you have no chance outside of using nurse or blight with best addons, and training thousands of hours, even then cheaters are rampant so may mean not much
-
Well in dbd the whole game mechanics working against killer, you really have to work if you want to kil a survivor, your only chance if survivors are clueless.
Thats why the game is so popular, and since getting harder for survivors, they are leaving the game, but the truth in SWF the game is joke
-
@ThiccBudhha said:
Because the game is killer sided and they are obsessed with holding killer player hands. It is known that killers often blame perks for their losses, so they stopped making good ones.
Thats why the game losing so many player, turned it comically killer sided. Solo survivor should be disabled, why even the option is there when is unplayable, and probably killer main will demand even more nerf.
The sad thing that SWF wont care and the game will become even worse for killers too, once every solo survivor leaves the game, and switching over to SWF or becoming killer mains.

Ahh dont you dare to say that. Don't give them ideas. We will see a flood of threats about how op legion now is soon enough. So shhh
Legion is the worst killer in the game, deserving buffs
-
Well most devs force console players to face PC players, so dbd isnt an exception.
Otherwise everyone would cross out PC players since out of 100 cheaters, 99 on pc

Ah yes, put words in my mouth. I just said that everyone has the option to play intelligent, cooperative and learn how to play the game unlike the Claudette or meg or whatever in your example, aka "the option to play better" and not "play in a swf".
A group of 4 highly experienced solos can be indistinguishable from a normal 4 men swf on comms.
I thought you know that i don't have to hide my opinion that swf is just an easier way. I made that clear several times on the forums and don't hide behind innuendos.
So are you saying that 4 streamer without comms(on solo) would be able to achieve the same results like if they had comms?
I remember something like that and they had very bad performance without comms

It's mind blowing to me how this is still happening and it's getting progressively worse.
Almost no server side checks.
Peer to peer game in 99%
Extremely easy to cheat
-
For example if every killer would be equal in strength with Blight
-
@GoodBoyKaru said:
Remember when dedicated servers were gonna fix lag switching?
The problem is that dbd remained mainly a client based game, there are almost no server checks for anything
-
They can't do anything about it.
Accept the fact that this game will be always heaven for cheaters
-
It will take a year before dev adjust it
-
The mode would only work with 2 m1 killer without any power

I would not call this a rant, it's actually pretty interesting that they removed.
But for Propnight, the game is not a big game I believe, when I look at the Steam charts Propnight peaked at 2500 players in March while DBD average at 34000 players. I remember trying the game and the queue times was insanely long. This might've been a reason for them to remove it.
Then again, good for the player base if they are happy with the change.
In last 30 days average players 1090, so yeah a super niche game, no way comparable to dbd.
DbD has a very big casual playerbase and mmr is best for casuals.
Its bad for streamers who earns money playing the game, but for most very good
