At low mmr its very easy to run the killer whole game, most then die because want to stay at low mmr
-
In short with simple terms :Cheating is rampant because the servers blindly accept packets from both sides and even worse the info in the packets calls the shots without any challenge from the server which is why you see cheaters flying, throwing endless streams of hatchets, tombstoning without stalking, instantly doing gens, getting up from downed state, instantly healing any survivor and doing anything else they want or can think of including ignoring end game and so on.
As user you are god, you can tell anything to the game and the game will believe you, you can fly, you can insta repair, you can see everything.
In other games the server checks everything, if it is possible to something like happen. " I want to have all perks" DbD server: Okay. "I want to have all perks" Server sided games: "Impossible, you cant" etc.
No anti-cheat can deal with that because I don't think there has ever been another multiplayer game ever made in recent times that would do something so foolish.
The only way to fix is, making DBD server sided, as it is now, the game almost completely client sided which allows rampant cheating.
-
At low mmr almost noone using DH
-
Its the spaghetti code.
The simplest way I can explain to you that dbd almost entirely client sided, next to nothing on server side. What does it mean?
It means that client is the king, there are no server validation for almost anything.
As a client you can tell the game, "now I am flying or run at 500% speed, or do the gen with one tap", in every other game would be a server check, " is it possible, is it valid action" , and the game wouldn't let it happen. There are no such checks in dbd, dbd is the exception, whatever the hacker tell the game it will accept it without question. There you have it, this is how hatchet ghostface was possible and might be still.
This is why dbd so weak to cheaters. No anti cheat can protect this spaghetti code.
Fun party game, dont take it too seriously
-
Could work, each hooked survivor grants +1% speed, so the maximum is +4%.

that'll just end the game at 5 gens when played at low mmr. lets be honest
Yeah thats why wont happen

There isn't anything you can do other than hope the survivors are bad. She is a bottom tier basic m1 killer with no redeemable qualities.
Oh, but she can teleport!... If the survivors don't turn off your tv's
Oh but they risk condemned!... what are you smoking and where can i get some?
Oh, but she has stealth!.. Does she? I always knew she was on her way when i played against her.
Remember when coco played with Iri addon and said Sadako is S+ tier, aged badly.
Sadako is also nice enough to warn survivors with lullaby... so much for stealth.
Her power can be turned off by survivors anytime.
She is extremely weak, maybe even legion better

the game is so survivor sided it’s not even funny
If a survivor learned to play then most killer has no answer. It's like 2 killer viable against good survivors.

Remember when challenges was designed to throw the game as survivor, its one of the reason why solo so bad.
Back on topic, I agree but the whole game is excessive grinding

Too many issues in this game,I will drop it once a better games of the genre comes out.
Just not worth dealing with BHVR refusal of properly fixing their game.
The problem is that nothing can compete against dbd. The licenses, and the survivor bias too strong.
Propnight? 1.3 k peak players
Home Sweet Home Survive? 400 peak players
Spirit Detectives? 100 peak players
F13? 150 peak players
Last year shutdown, Deathgarden shutdown.
Upcoming games?
Vhs? Servers are down more than a month, still closed beta, hype is dead(viewers on youtube like 100-200)
Evil Dead? We know nothing, expecting it to die like Resident evil did.

And you're certain that's the only reason people don't play killer as much? There's a social aspect to survivor that isn't there for killer. The gaming with friends aspect isn't there on killer. If I'm just looking to chill and game with friends in the evening, I'm certainly not clicking on killer. Doesn't make killer weak or even hard 90% of the time. Just means I want to play a role that doesn't require my undivided attention at times and lets me play with friends.
Yes, I have never played an asymmetrical horror which was more survivor sided than dbd.
The game popular because of survivor bias, but the killer role is so weak I have no words.
Actually maybe VHS could be even worse, the monster there is the worst joke I have ever seen.
HSHS buffed the killers, survivors left in thousands.

Looks like I have to look into that then. I'm litterally tired right now of it and It should make it more easier.
I played lot of other games like dbd, and hands down the worst solo survivor exp is in dbd, for one dbd you cant communicate, (like in other games, having comms, or having stickers(doing objective, looping, ping killer location etc). So you are alone in dbd, cant make a plan at all.
One bad teammate and the game is frankly lost, now after the dead hard nerf I suspect the solo xp will be even worse.

I have to think that I should actually find a new swf group. Solo q is tiring me.
In SWF the game is very fun, but its really hard to match time to play like that, most of my friends no longer have time for games, married kids etc.
So I switched to play as killer, even at worst, killer lot better exp than solo survivor in this game.
-
You should play in SWF on comms, sorry to say but solo exp in this game the worst. You are asking for it playing solo survivor

Keep in mind: When MMR works (mainly in peak times only), your mates are just a mirror of yourself.
Also your opponent mindset the copy of yourself.
Want to escape all the time? You can bet the killer want to 4k every time. etc

I never thought of it like that.
The problem is that at higher mmr not only your games will be very frustrating, but many subtle cheater is present there, so you wonder what have you done wrong why u couldnt catch the survivor as if it was little fast, when in fact just so many cheaters playing, and mostly at high mmr.

I don't get it . Why is everyone focused on mmr / sbmm ? Play the game enjoy the chases and good plays and just simply ignore mmr/sbmm . HAVE FUN that's all that matters
Dowsey's problem that he wants 4k all the time, now he has high mmr, and he has to go all the time against survivors who want to escape all the time.
In the previous system he went against all kind of players and he could play any killer, he had like 200 games in row with 4k, its no longer possible with mmr, Dowsey plan to restore the system which favoured him and the streamers, while 99% of playerbase suffered from it
-
Real football involves real money, think about the gambling, many betting which team will win, and win or lose can have meaning on people life.
While dbd is just a game, In my eyes a very good and fun PARTY game. Thats to say you are playing for fun, there are no stats, no ranks(which other people can see etc) so its a very casual xp, of course winning or losing doesnt matter that much

That’s only if you want to be friends with them, which is not what everyone wants to do. It’s called playing the game. There’s no easy way to play the game by being nice to Survivors.
Well you can still kill them if you are finding your games became too easy, and there is a good chance that other survivors will kill them for you. Like you hooking a survivor, and teammates just let the survivor to die, even though you are miles away from the hook.
-
@DangerScouse said:
This is the problem with this game. Nicey nice killers giving free escapes.
Play the game with grace and respect, sure. But just giving free escapes is feeding the entitled survivor mindset even more, and setting expectations on all killers.
It's "Dead By Daylight" not "Kumbaya Simulator".
This is why mmr so great, if you let survivors escape you will get nicer survivors to play against.
If you 4k all the time or most of the time you will get serious survivors who will do anything to escape, so everyone can find the company they want. Want to take the game very seriously sure, want to just chill and have fun in a party game, again great
-
I am very merciful.
Usually only doing 1k or 2k, the last 2 always free to escape.
Btw in high rank I seen subtle cheaters like every 3rd game, since I playing like this, never seen a cheater, and survivors bringing fun perks, I also stopped bringing gen slowdown, its casual fun. Survivors are chill just like me. Perfect.
Killing them would only make me to go against very meta focused groups and tryhards, so no, wont happen

Its also kinda funny how one of the most currently balanced killers, Demogorgon, got removed from the store so now new players cannot obtain him without 3rd party websites.
Demo is at the weak side, survivors love to play against demo because easy to play against and to counter.
Even when demo was in store, I seen a demo like every 100th game, only the twins and oni were rarer for me

I started hate this hockey meme so much.
Actually Dowsey want to shape the MMR the way that benefit him the most, like hooks should count towards MMR and not kills....
What would happen I would kill every survivor with 1 hook, but according to Dowsey system that would give me low MMR, also Dowsey obsessed with 4k every game, thats why hates mmr, because have to play against other sweats. And making memes targetting DBD's devs, to blackmail them into changing mmr to dowsey's needs.
I am glad that devs arent falling for his demands.
-
There are no communication at solo, nothing at all, no stickers, no chat, nothing. Without communication insanely hard to play well, I believe even seasoned teams would have problems in SWF without communication.
And the game almost balanced around SWF, solo is an outdated way to play survivor, I mean you can play, but dont expect random players have enough skill to survive, expect to die over and over again, you almost have no impact on games alone

Nah, sbmm just makes me not kill anyone. I'm going against 4 baby survivors thanks to that. Good system.
Yeah, I started to let everyone live, getting lot more casual games since then.
The way I see killing a survivor is bad karma, because the killer will fall into high mmr hell, full of subtle cheaters and SWF death squads.

Eh...
I'd say that Billy and Blight are on par with Nurse, with Huntress only slightly behind.
Nurse is actually very easy to understand. It's all mechanical skill and gamesense.
Billy and Blight have curves, which require an entirely new system of controlling your system and incredible knowledge of tiles.
I value mechanical skill above everything else, you need hundreds of hours practice with Nurse to be playable at all, the other killers are very easy compared to her. Blight is Nurse lite though, still he lot easier than Nurse
-
Nurse should be a tier its own, nothing come close to her

That’s just not true. Wraith could only dominate new/bad survivors and he struggled vs good survivors as he was easy to counter with a bit of experience.
Well I had the highest killrate with pre nerf wraith his lunge was like Myers with unnerfed coup de grace, only god or very good survivors stood a chance.

@OpenX said:
I will say, the pecking order of DBD is as follows:
SWF > Killer > Solo Survivor
I play like a total wuss in solo Q and I have thousands of hours too, lol. Why? I have played the hero enough to know it usually just gets you killed. I will play altruistic in a SWF but for Solo's? Nah, immersing for hatch is a better strategy.
I still do gens but like I have people complain to me for stopping gens when the game is 100% lost and it's just going to a hatch game. Crazy that I will get the hate but not like the people who DC or suicide or go down in 10 seconds making the game completely unwinnable.
Solo survivor is unplayable, the game almost balanced around SWF
-
@Chilli_man2400 said:
People were complaining about wraith cause they thought wraith was to easy to use. Survivors considered him “braindead” cause he could counter almost any loop with his lunge and speed. They said he was new Freddy in terms of gameplay. Him being braindead to play as and against
Wraith was like Pre nerf Stridor Spirit and Old pre nerf Freddy, way too easy to play and dominate against 99% of survivor playerbase, you played a game or two and that's it already master
-
Yeah I noticed too.
There isn't enough killer playing at night, so new killers drafted against veteran survivors. BTW also won't play killer at night because getting survivors that way better than me, but only at night
-
Sadako is a mix of other killer powers, but all of her powers are worse version.
Condemn < Pigs slowdown
Tv teleport < Freddy gen teleport, Demo portal teleport
Stealth killer with lullaby < Wraiths stealth
Tv speed boost < Wraiths lunge
The finishing blow that Sadako has nothing that helps her in chase. A killer without anti loop is doomed to be low tier.
Her design is very nice, but gameplay extremely lacking, m1 killer with weak powers.
Her mobility useless because can't convert into downs. She doesn't have map pressure, she has map presence big difference
-
I mean Wraith was overpowered before the nerf.
I only started playing wraith after the buff, and my killrate with wraith was higher than with any other killer. Very little mechanical skill was involved, just picked up and performed better than anything else without effort.
After nerf stopped playing wraith.
Also I don't deny against god survivors he was lacking even without nerfs, still he needed the nerf
-
Blight needs nerf before that.
As for Nurse, most of the playerbase can't play her well yet, but eventually she will be nerfed.
-
@Percival_nxs said:

same here, well except work is taking most of my time nowadays, but i play one match of survivor and its always been a boring experience with nurse, blights, and bubbas. i'd rather watch the game than play it now
Playing survivor are really boring, the only skill expression is looping and the most used killers are ignoring the mechanic.
So it's very dull and pointless
-
@TheSubstitute said:
A large issue I see is that, many times, a match can be decided at the killer selection screen. Most killers just can't compete against very skilled survivors. Then, once you lose, there is a fairly significant chance the survivors will rub your nose in it.
Once that happens, your only real choices are just blow it off (much easier said than done), switch to a more meta killer, or camp/tunnel until your MMR hits a point that's no longer effective and you're back to being BM'ed at the exit gate.
If weaker killers were buffed more then there would be greater killer variety. Unfortunately, balancing doesn't seem to take into account things like certain killers are newbie stompers but fall apart after or how killers like the Twins only have a decent kill rate at high MMR because their players are really dedicated to them.
It's simple really.
Majority of playerbase doing well with a killer over 60% killrate (Freddy used to be) or high killrate at low levels(wraith used to be) or once mastered very high kill rate (twins used to be) will get a killer nerfed.
If a killer has like 80-90% killrate but only very few percent of players capable to reach that level then they get a pass, won't get nerfed. Nurse and Blight in that category.
However I do suspect eventually Blight will be mastered by more player, and once the number high enough, Blight will be nerfed to ground.
-
It's better than doing nothing for years, I would be extremely surprised if they do reduce grind in 2022.
-
@PerfectlyPink said:
Yeah, killers like wraith were nerfed when they weren't even good to begin with. People just accept that nurse and blight are super strong since they're hard to play.
Honestly I've been getting into nurse on PS4 and love loading into a map or seeing a gen pop or hearing a boon and not going "Well #########"
Simple to use killers aren't allowed to be good in this game.
Freddy and Wraith was in the simple to use category, that's why they had to be gutted.

I am having lots of fun as Sadako. Sadako is not Wraith, Bubba, Myers, Billy, Freddy, or Doctor, all of whom I've also been playing (some for dailies, some for memes, and Billy for the archives). And as you know, if you see a killer that isn't using 4 meta perks, it's obviously the time where you BM, yell slurs in endgame, and overall be a dick to someone daring to try and 12 hook instead of immidiately tunneling someone.
Also I got Eyerie of Crows as her quite literally 9 times yesterday, so I'm afraid of playing her because if I get it a 10th time I will genuinely uninstall.
Moreover, notice how I said "players" not "survivors". You, I'm sure, can empathise on the solo queue experience (except tonight has been quite bad on the slur front). Because survivor is a genuine hellscape filled with nothing but anger and all my friends have quit because of it leaving me no choice but to solo, I'll be returning to killer and playing Nurse and Pyramid Head.
Sadako doesn't have all perks unlocked, after all.
I would argue that lately the game became really killer sided, as a solo survivor against meta perk Nurse/Blight you have no chance.
The lost players are probably survivors are leaving the game.
Dont get me wrong m1 killers also in bad place, and that also wrong, survivors demolish them.

But we should be able to. That's why we bring this up all the time.
I agree but those who play m1 killers are part of the problem. Devs can just say see they are still played, so fine. One should play nothing but Blight or Nurse, at very least Spirit or Artist
-
Don't play m1 killer
-
Play Home Sweet Home Survive, there is your stamina bar.
In dbd won't happen, the meta same for years
-
At least Clown should have given a stronger base kit. My guess is that killers with simple powers aren't allowed to be good in dbd.

@ukenicky said:
You can't make Condemned easy to accumulate without being incredibly careful since it's a straight mori regardless of hook states. It's a balancing nightmare tbh due to how it works.
The problem is how do you rework condemned in such a way that it forces survivors to do the side objective but does not make for such a potentially premature mori? It's difficult, the only idea I have is usually not very well received by most so I won't share here unless you'd like to hear it.
Aside from just Condemned though I think she could benefit from some improvements in other categories. Bloody fingernails really needs to be base kit and the cooldown on TVs could be lowered a bit if you ask me.
For each condemned stack a survivor has, a debuff is given.
1 stack = Killer Instinct appears to The Onryo when near the TV she comes out of.
2 stacks = Survivor becomes Blind
3 stacks = Survivor becomes Oblivious
4 stacks = Survivor becomes Hindered
5 stacks = Survivor becomes Exhausted
6 stacks = Survivor becomes Exposed
7 stacks = Survivor can be killed
