Nope. You were in a chase, and idiot went towards the hooked survivor.
Smart survivors run FAR AWAY from those hooks.
-
Maybe it's a SA/WA thing. I rarely see a 3-gen, not healing is more of a PC thing, but I've also taken to running Resilience and try to 99 it, but there's no communicating that.
As for the hook bombing, I only do that if time is limited and you're about to go down a phase. I hate doing it, but sometimes it feels like the only option available.
Bubba, tho, I just make sure to NEVER GO NEAR THE BASEMENT.

Fair enough. If there is a dc or two and the dirty filthy survs respectfully approach me and boop, then there can be farm-like shenanigans.
Prolly let em both go if they're cute enough...
I'm very similar there in that 1 DC = 1 Escape for the other survivors. Usually take the match less seriously and won't go anywhere near as hard.

Yes! That's why I hate playing against Tombstone Myers and love playing against Forever Freddy. Against Tombstone Myers everybody needs to genrush before he starts moring everybody which most of the time results on everybody escaping and gaining a safe pip, but against Forever Freddy everybody will probably die but win a ton of points, everybody wins. 😣
Forever Freddy is a bit of a different story. I don't feel like I had a chance once a Forever Freddy gets going.
-
Biggest thing that everyone ignores about gen-rush is how much it hurts BOTH sides. If the best you can hope for is a safety, then you are clearly playing the game wrong.
I'd rather have a long 20 minute match, where everyone double-pips but there was 3 or 4 kills than a 5 minute safety only because there's interaction with both sides.
-
It's a typical response designed to shut down conversation because they don't have a legitimate response.

Even though I don't take this game seriously, I still want to try.

There’s nothing to “yeah, nah” about, as the DC’s I’ve been experiencing have also been from different platforms. So it can’t be an issue solely with PS4 as that’s my platform and the DC’s in my games have globes next to their usernames. 🤷🏻♀️
My guess is that it is PC players, because it is easier to yank out an Ethernet cable than whatever a console can do. DC's were extremely rare for me before cross-play and became way more common after.

The funny thing there is that I've seen it lead to tunneling the bad loopers out of the game. Like the killer will still ambush/hit the good looper when they get the chance or pressure them a little to get them off gens but they don't ever commit to chases.
It was a bait comment to see if people would show a massive double-standard. That and there are actually tunnellers who do it anyway.

To counter this, I’m a PS4 player and I’m seeing more DC’s now from people with globes next to their name. I know for a fact a lot of them have been PC players because it’s sometimes really obvious with the usernames they have. The rest are either XBOX or Switch.
I suppose the point I’m making is that every platform is experiencing DC’s.
Also, I’ve been running into a lot of TTV survivors and killers since crossplay. It’s really fun being able to watch my matches back and see things from somebody else’s perspective. Although one guy was shouting abuse at us because none of us replied with “GG” even though we were on console and couldn’t see the chat... 🤦🏻♀️😂
Yeah, nah. I've had more DC's come from other platforms, so I'm in the same boat as CheeseAnton and they have said that they're basically on the orher side of the planet.

Then stop referencing to BACK THEN ... God knows how long it was or how you've been performing BACK THEN....
That still doesn't change the fact that even if he's in bodyblock range you can dodge him unlike other killers. He has to aim.
BACK THEN, he was probably the only viable killer (except nurse), nowadays there are plenty, Billy is in crap position right now. You seem blinded by the hate you had against him BACK THEN and it still persists...
I do hope you like versing Freddys, Spirits, Deathslingers and Pyramid Heads and definitely more Bubbas since his rework was a successful one and he's in a better position than Billy. Also Huntress with her trucks...
You would hate the sight of a killer too if it was basically all you versed for 3 months straight! And Nurse was always viable. Just not on console.
I wish I WAS versing more Freddy, Deathslinger and PH. Hell, give me a Nurse once in a while!
-
As someone who plays both sides, they deserve whatever comes to them. Or at least that's how I feel some days after being on these forums.
If the INDIVIDUAL in front of me is respectful, I will be too. If they aren't, then I am going to call them out on it.
-
Killers should really stop being so aggressive. I've seen so many won games literally threw into 3/4 escapes because the killer took one chase and didn't call it off when they should have or tried to tunnel the wrong person. People should learn that not everybody can be killed.
And now I wait. Let's see how the double standard plays out. Not picking on you, Justalittlepeeck, just half the forums.
-
Well, it depends on what you want to do. I like stealth and options, so Pig is a fantastic choice for me. Crouch, Ambush and the RBT's are perfect for how I play.
Just remember that some killers are what you'd call "different", and I place Pig, Legion, Hag and Trapper in this sort of category, because you aren't doing the usual killer thing of just chasing survivors. There's more to them than just the chase.
-
I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Reverse Bear Traps are a fantastic solution to those two perks!

First of all, if you're getting body blocked in a corner by a Billy, your chances of survival are almost null, the same goes for any 1-shot killer or any killer for that matter.
Second of all, Loops and Jungle Gyms? If they hold it for that long, it's their fault, they're either making a mistake or trying to learn. If you honestly get downed by a Billy at a Jungle Gym it's entirely your fault, let's be real here. That place is by far, one the safest things in this game against Billy. If the killer has a power, what's stopping him from trying to mindgame with it at a Jungle Gym / Pallet with it? I do it with Freddy, Doctor, Demo. Billy, Bubba, and pretty much every killer that's not trapper. Or you're saying the best way to get a down is straight up using the M1 ability and not rely on their power?
If you're getting chased by Hillbilly and he's directly on your arse, YOU CAN STILL spin around him. Do you make the same argument when Oni is in full power and he's readying his one-shot? Because that thing, god forgive me, has an awful god damn hitbox, worse than Hillbilly's chainsaw but you can still dodge it, just not as reliable.
You said you were playing a Stealthy Claudette. How is that my problem? When you run straight forward and not even bother to juke for your own god damn survival, desperate times call for desperate measures. Of course he's gonna easily 1-shot you, then... WHY would he use his hammer? As someone who plays Billy at high ranks, I ALWAYS keep my chainsaw up for 1-2 seconds before I use it, because I expect people to juke me. Some survivors gave me a ran for my money in an open field, and I was made a Fool because I was missing easy hits. You know why? They were actually trying to dodge.
All claudettes who play immersed, almost never try to dodge an m1, juke, dodge or do anything for their survival and especially go down in a matter of seconds, because all they do is Hide and don't learn anything from getting chased. You seem to fall under that category. Do people honestly get a rush for adrenaline when they hide? Does it feel rewarding? Wouldn't dodging or juking the killer feel more rewarding when you're getting chased?
I can live with the thought of people playing differently than me but I have trouble understanding them. Never understood how some people get a rush from hiding.
I can easily dodge a Billy even if he holds his chainsaw for years. The reason why, I play him and know what to expect and how it works.
I USED to play that Claudette, I couldn't run very well THEN. I couldn't exactly juke them THEN.
Bodyblock RANGE, not actual bodyblocking. Yes it is their fault, but it still feels terrible.
I never said it was your problem!
Stealth, not immersed.
And again, back to that first word for my biggest hate of Hillbilly: overexposure. I have versed so many of them, I am sick to death and want to DC whenever I hear that chainsaw.
You asked why I hate Hillbilly and I answered. We could have just left it at that.

How does one end a chase much quicker with an M1 when the survivor is healthy when you're Hillbilly? You essentially let them get distance on you if you do that as Hillbilly. Unlike other 1-shot killers that m1 and Bubba which takes -10 IQ points to down a survivor infront of you with a chainsaw, Hillbilly has to aim the chainsaw and you easily juke him. If you do it succesfully, you'll 100% make it pallet / loop / window. Now Billy is FORCED to M1 you.
Hillbilly needs more skill to down a survivor in an open field unlike other m1 1-shot killers like Myers or braindead killers like Bubba. You know why? Hillbilly has to aim and you can juke his 1-shot. Please juke a myers in T3 in an open field, or an Oni charging at you full speed in an open field or Bubba, or any 1-shot m1 killer for that matter.
What I'm getting from you, is the fact that you stopped at a somewhat average Billy level when you were playing and didn't explore what other options you had as Billy and only used his chainsaw to down survivors infront of you and not mindgame or use any of his techs for that matter. Of course that would be unrewarding for you, if that's all you know.
hillbilly has a weapon as any other killer sure, but what about Bubba? He has one too. What About Myers? He has 1 weapon, but his lunge is greater when he's in T3, can vault super fast and can instantly one-shot you, unlike Billy which has to charge his chainsaw first, which then again, you can juke. If you can juke his one-shot, Billy will either suffer from the fatigue, has to charge the chainsaw again, aim or if he runs into an obstacles he has to suffer an even greater fatigue and you'll be long gone by then.
What about Demogorgon? He has his claws for weapons and his Shred. People are more salty about them getting downed from 15 meters away than getting 1-shot by Hillbilly's chainsaw.
Yes, a power can replace a weapon... Best example being Huntress, followed by Demo.
Loops and jungle gyms. I have actually had people hold it for THAT long. I was also a stealthy Claudette, so my running wasn't as strong as it is now.
"Skill" also isn't required when you're in bodyblocking range. I'm also on console, so flicks aren't a thing, or they weren't at the time.
You also misunderstand what I was doing..... I was the SURVIVOR, specifically a default jacket Claudette who got to purple by stealthing it and getting unhooks, heals and generators. Not by running. When I did pick up Hillbilly, months later, I tried to use his hammer more than the saw to see what the fuss of playing Hillbilly was and if Hammer-Billy was a viable thing. Long story short, after a few games it was and I hated it. There was no tactics to it, or if there was it was nothing like Pig. I could bait pallets with the saw and that's where majority of my saw downs came from.
Never said that I like Tier III Myers, or GF's Stalk, but I recognise that they have ACTUAL REQUIREMENTS to pull off. Same with Lig's Ambus, Demo's Shred and Huntress' hatchets.
My line was also that it SHOULDN'T replace their weapon. Even on someone like Huntress, but I reserve that more for Iri Heads in bodyblock range.

It's good on him? I got that like his third bloodweb lol
It's "good" on any killer, but it is still a Hex and ultimately subject to cleansing. Probably wouldn't have it in some of the higher ranks, but if you can pull it off, being able to reel them in and pop it off does feel incredibly rewarding, the only instant down that I actually enjoy.
-
Well, yeah sure it is tactically superior, but for some people, like me, the respect of those around me is worth more than any win. Do I want to win? Yeah! But I'm not in the business for screwing people over for something like seeing 4 skulls at the end of the game.
If I was playing for a cash prize, then sure. Getting that injured guy with an RBT suddenly looks a bit more appealing. But I'm not. I'm playing for fun. And to test the survivors and their resolve.

If everyone isn't a God at dodging shots, he s really fun. Especially with Devour Hope and they don't know that the tokens are there yet.

also can you elaborate when you said that the "overheat mechanic was made for people like you." ? in your first post?
Unlike Billy, Bubba takes 0 brain power to chainsaw a survivor near him, on the other hand, Billy has to aim and survivors can easily juke him. What problems you have with Billy? I'm wondering
Overexposure. When I hit Purple for the first time, pre-Ruin rework, 95% of my games were against Hillbillies, and a lot of them had less room between me and them than could fit the engine block of the saw before swinging it at me. That is my main reason for hating Hillbilly so much.
As for what I meany by "people like you" was those that use the saw so much, and only use it on healthy survivors, rather than ending the chase much quicker with basic attacks. Hillbilly has a WEAPON just like every other killer, and a power does not replace a weapon, apparently unless you're Hillbilly or Bubba according to these forums. It feels so unrewarding to me, for BOTH sides, and the only enjoyment I've had from it are accidental half-map snipes.

Oh, believe me, I hate Bubba more. I just don't go there much because he has nothing else and is an uncommon killer.
I don't hate Leatherface, or his inclusion in the game, but I hate his power and what it represents in the game.

it's still see survivor- rev saw, only now it is so slow and the maps have been littered with so many pallets and windows that they will always reach safety before you can do anything.
Billy is dead, and removing his ability to use the saw at loops was the nail in the coffin.
Again, if people didn't rely on the damn thing, we wouldn't be in this mess. Hillbilly players only have themselves to blame.
You also don't have it anywhere near as bad as Pig. I have not seen a single buff to her in all my play and I still play her. Adapt, overcome and survive

i dont feel like billy was easy to pick up and learn at learn not his curves.
I feel like the time wasted attempting to land mutiple saws at a loop makes up for the bypassed 2 hits.
If you played vs billy enough you would learn how long he would have to rev his saw before it would land and just had to time your dodge to it.
He definitely needed addon reworked but the over heat mechanic is just stupid.
I had a bad game at first, but being a console player certainly helped learn how to curve the chainsaw.
There are a lot of Billy players who just go for the saw anyway. Yes, it takes longer but feels far worse.
Back when I did verse loads of Billies, they all had various charge add-ons. And most of them went for a point of basically body-blocking before actually using the saw. His arms extended THROUGH my character model at that time.

I have SO MANY threads I am tempted to steal this for!
But back on topic, DS is FINE and killers who eat it every match need to tone it back. As the Primarch of the Raven Guard, Corvus Corax once said, "Strike and fade, then strike again." It is OK to spread out the hooks, and it makes survivors a lot more afraid to go for an unhook when they're down to death hook.

"Fighting through" two health states? I mean, yeah him and Bubba can instadown at will but that's because they have nothing to help them in a chase except mindgaming with the chainsaw, Billy more than Bubba. There's a reason why so many Billy players run enduring, spirit fury etc. Because they need to be aggressive in a chase and they don't have anything to help slow survivors down or shut down loops like demo, Huntress, Spirit, Hag, Nurse, pyramid head, clown, Freddy...you get the point. But what Billy DOES have is great mobility, which is why good killers won't run slowdown perks on him because frankly they're overkill and not needed, they can run other more fun perks and perks that help him in a chase because like I said, he's not very good at it compared to most other M1 killers
I would argue that ANY killer needs to be aggressive in a chase, with the exception of Huntress. Doesn't mean that I'll be slapping Enduring/Spirit Fury on my Pig any time soon.
My biggest complaint about Hillbilly is just the alarming regularity of which Hillbillies just throw around their saw for an instant down, with zero real requirements. At least if someone like Ghostface gets a stalk on me, I know that in most cases I could have been more alert. Hillbilly has none of that for me, even now that I can start dodging saws more regularly.

What I am saying, as I always have, is don't replace your weapon with your power, quit playing on easy mode and learn the game LIKE THE REST OF US.
If you are going to misinterpret my statements, please make it somewhat believable. I have been over this argument about Hillbilly several times and my opinion will forever remain unchanged at this point, since I have faced so many Hillbillies, and especially ones who rely on the old insta-saw add-ons.
At least now Overheat will make people think about when to use their power more than just "see survivor, rev saw".

His power is easy to dodge/counter. If your doing an unsafe gen and get insta downed then thats your fault.
Myers, bubba, billy, oni ect all have the option to instadown you if your caught working on an unsafe gen.
And idk what billys you been playing but i dont know any skilled billys who hold their chainsaw for a full minute, maybe a couple seconds to get into position on a loop for a curve but no ones just holds his chainsaw.
If your talking about to prevent a camping billy then okay but honestly if someone wants to camp there just going to use bubba as he takes zero skill to face camp and its impossible to miss both targets.
People complaining about missing his charge time addons were billys riding on easy street.
The billys who are complaining about this jank over heat mechanic are majority good billys
How is it my fault if the game only has those left? I also find it easier to dodge now than before, but there are still some GENEROUS hitboxes with that thing.
Yes, all those killers do have insta-downs, but at least Oni, Ghostface and Myers have to actually do something to achieve them. Not just exist.
Full minute is an exaggeration, but it's the constant revving through loops or the rev and down then rev again around the corner. Xbox, Aus Sydney area if you must know. Literal tirade of them when I first hit purple before the Ruin rework. 95% of my games were against him then and it was a nightmare.
All campers are something to be addressed. I don't care if they claim tactics, if you're not doing something like kicking a generator or pallet, then moving on should be what the killer does.
So many people who claimed that Billy was dead have now moved to Spirit, they are the people that I have indeed called the bandwagoners. True mains stick with them even after a slight tweak. Hell, I stuck with Pig even after the EGC nerf!
No, I don't believe that "good" Billies were the only complainers. There would have been some indeed, but everyone who used the saw to bypass the two health states, like the OP, contributed to the problem that lead us to the Overheat mechanic. Yes it does suck for some of them, but if we're honest, he was way too easy to pick up and do well with.

Smart survivors who know how to play against billy know how to force the m1 just like they do when they play bubba.
If you dont put yourself in a bad position billy is easy to juke and personally one of my favorite killers to face.
The over heat mechanic didnt do anything but limit billys skill cap since it just takes extremely long to learn his chainsaw now.
A good billy is going to get you with or without this stupid over heat mechanic, its just annoying to have it over heat when your trying to curve someone on a loop.
Makes him unfun to play when you have to wait for his saw to cool down so you can curve someone.
If i wanted to play a killer where i just m1 people ill play trapper or legion or doctor i mean all the killers are just m1 killers.
Billys ability to curve and traverse the map with his saw is the reason people play him because its fun not because they want to use their m1 cause their saw over heated from getting across the map.
Rip billy
Ok, yes positioning is a thing, but as I have said in so many other threads, there are commonly games where at least 3 generators are in "unsafe" areas, and a power SHOULD NOT REPLACE A WEAPON.
And you know what's unfun? Having someone rev their chainsaw for a full minute because they don't want to commit to an actual chase!
I'm GLAD that Billy is now in the dirt in the eyes of a lot of people because they were bandwagoning on easy street! There. I said it.

Well, I'm going to be this thread's "that guy" and say that the overheat mechanic was made for people like you.
If people like you actually used your hammer more often, then people would be more accepting of Hillbilly or at least hate him less. You will also have a very sharp drop in overheat issues. Just saying.

Wait you mean they deleted console optimization threads? No way they cant be. That makes them look extremely bad.
PC vs. Console threads.
Console is FINE! Geez. Never thought I'd actually want to go back to the endless "Nerf X" threads.

No I seen em but the mods have the audacity to close posts about console optimization.
There have been a couple of them that were shut down and there is always the possibility that they were outright deleted, like I have seen with some threads.

Yeah, I'd love to just have my build of Self-Care, Resilience, Spine Chill and Lithe to just play the game, but then some genius will tunnel everyone into oblivion, so back on goes Decisive Strike. I'll have a game or two then we'll get the 4-man slug and I remember why I was working up Bill, so I'd have Unbreakable available, and the GAME becomes less about me trying to help everyone else and be a proverbial thorn in the killer's side and becomes just "Oh, great. I have tk run this in order to NOT get completely screwed because they don't want a game, just 4 meaningless skulls at the end screen."

That really doesn't surprise me. The Devs team are probably sick to death of seeing it and don't seem to realise that "we're working on it" got stale years ago and now people genuinely want to see some actual progress.
Well, to be fair, I'M getting sick to death of them too. And I'm a console player!

The two topics I hate the most are:
"Blah blah Spirit blah blah rage!"
"Blah blah DS blah blah blah!"
That's the same thread but for the other side of the game.
