oh because i have been playing red ranks since i was rank 20 only maybe 3 matches they were worse than green rank. Im currently a purple rank and face all rank 1's and 2's. I almost never get worse than a 3K but i dont only play pig. I also play Huntress Plague Freddy and Legion ALOT. Before i strictly played Pig but got fed up of having so little Ambush and crouch add-ons that i started playing a more diverse range of killers. Im thinking of playing more Bubba and Trapper because i have played them both after leveling them and loved them. I should mention that i started playing around February or March 2020 took a break from the game from June 3rd to August 2nd so i slipped from rank 9 to 20 again and now im back to rank 8. I am fairly new to the game but since the beginning i have watched Tofu's and Scorpionz's streams every time they streamed all the way through and have gotten great at killer.

I have destroyed teams of 2 reds, a purple and a green before as a rank 16, but I am als I assuming they are solo.

Co-ordinated SWF will still screw over a Pig pretty hard.

I also think that Pig solves a lot of the "Secind Chance Meta" problems of today, but In dkn't see anyone else talking about that.

  • Solo survivor is miserable, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Random survivors are always the death of me, especially when paired against killer who's a higher rank than all of our team. The game then becomes about who survives longest and a will they, won't they about hatch. Not always a bad thing, bu I am sick of it being EVERY SINGLE GAME at Red ranks.

It's also funny because I do WORSE in an SFW than I do in solo, according to the emblem system at least, so I don't normally group up.

ok i will try your build but i used ruin before and used sloppy over corrupt and ruin got broke in 15 seconds-1 minute so i was always left with 3 perks and with your build your pretty much down to 2 perks because surveillance really isnt very good by itself as the only thing i like of it by itself is the louder gens but that isnt good enough for a whole perk slot but i will try it

I should also mention that my killer rank did slide down dramatically lately due to several games and WORK demanding my attention, so I get easy slaughters at lower ranks.

I do alao play differently to a lot of killers, focusing more on generator defence than straight kills.

Yah But there is better gen perks than surveillance to run especially on pig and though both are good make your choice is better on alot of killers(Mostly high mobility killers)Also quick question what's your build because this is the 2nd discussion I've seen you on,mine is BBQ Nurses Pop and Corrupt.

Ruin, Surveillance, Nurse's, BBq. Same since pre-Ruin rework. Preferred add-ons are the Dash ones.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1598240#Comment_1598240

Make Your choice is a great perk but Hangmans Trick is horrible. You did say your fairly new so you probably don't have alot of teachables so what I'm gonna say is upgrade some other killers and get some perks then come back to pig then she will be great. I dont know if your willing to buy other DLC's to get perks but if you are you should get BBQ & Chili, Nurses Calling, PGTW, and Corrupt Intervention or STBFL. All great perks on pig. I agree that the addons are fine but don't go off a killer based on their perks to decide if your gonna play them because you should look at powers that suit you best and play with them and upgrade other killers for Bloodpoints and since you are fairly new you should look in the shrine of secrets every week to see if there is a perk you want there. But Make Your Choice is a better Perk with Surveillance unless you run Surveillance with Ruin but if Ruin gets broken your just left with an eh perk.

Disagree about Surveillance. The fact that it gives you easier and further detection of repair noises is actually makes the perk much better than a lot of people give it credit for.

As for the OP, I've made it to purple with her with a bit of trial, error and more importantly, practice. You can't think of Pig as anywhere near the same type of play as other killers. Forcing survivors off generators and keeping them locked down is priority. Hooks and RBT's are nice, but not something you should risk generators for.

If you have concerns about survivors quickly getting RBT's off, then the Gears add-ons should be something to look into.

  • Return of the healing meta then? Also, by how much and what would be the point of running Resilience then?

  • Stop caring about the game, attempt to dk Archives but get denied because of red ranks, go back to one of the alternate accounts you have for playing with the scrub you know who never plays and want for the main to drop to low green.

Or just equip No Mither and watch the killer question everything.

Tbh when i play survivor and ruin is up i stopped trying to find it because it a waste of time the killer cant chase 2 people at the same time so if one stay on the gen while the other one is looping the killer ruin is useless.

You've never versed me by the sounds of it. Forcing survivors off generators is my bread and butter!

  • G'day! Just don't take anything that people say on here personally. If they're calling you trash or an entitled X main, it just means "I don't have an actual argument, but can't admit it."

Exept ruin reward is not that high if we compare to pgtw

Depends on how tou use it and how long it's up.

  • Love it. Cuts out some of the unnecessary wait between the hook and the kill. Looks amazing too.

  • They won't because they'd A) have to LOWER it's effectiveness and B) change a HAG TEACHABLE to a non-Hex which theh have already stated "no." to, so they never will.

As I said in other threads, these days I'm actually playing with 0 effort and just chilling, just to derank a bit.

It's hilarious, because the moment I reach rank 5 or 6 again, I start seeing variety and more fun matches. When I hit Red ranks the fun ends, it's a curse.

I've got a mate who almost never plays, and only plays with me. Those rank 20 games are the best. Can't stand the barrage of rank 1 killers and 3-8 survivors that I'm in on my actual account.

  • @sad_killer_main said:

I could say the same about survivor. My favourite matches is when they are willing to actually play the game, interact with the killer, loop, hide and seek etc etc etc.

If they just want to gen rush and escape is just disappointing.

Yeah, I keep playing to find more of these matches. Part of the reason that I am about to try and drop my rank by quite a bit.

    @PigMainClaudette said:

So, as many of us know, Pig currently has quite possibly the worst set of add-ons in the game, with half of them basically acting against you with certain effects. What I've done is had a go at changing some of these add-ons to help make them more beneficial to the Pig player and have more viable options than a 3rd of the options.

If anyone wishes for clarity with my design choices, or what my though process is with them, then please let me know but be civil about it. If there is one thing that I cannot stand, it's being given no explanation when people tell me that "I'm just wrong".

One thing that I should also say that would be good in addition to these changes is removing the "Great" result from the Skill Checks.

    Brown

    • Workshop Grease - Slightly decrease the time between the Skill Check warning sound and the Skill Check*

    • Shattered Syringe - Slightly increases the Ambush Attack speed**

    • John's Medical File - no change

    • Combat Straps - no change

*similar effect to about two stacks of Hex: Huntress Lullaby

    **movement speed of the dash

    Yellow

    • Video Tape - no change

    • Utility Blades - Survivors caught in a Reverse Bear Trap suffer from the Mangled Status Effect

    • Razor Wires - Change the Skill Check of a Jigsaw Box to a Difficult Skill Check*

    • Last Will - no change

    • Face Mask - no change

*similar to Decisive Strike or Snapping Out

    Green

    • Slow-Release Toxin - Successful Ambush attack applies the Exhausted Status Effect for 20 seconds

    • Rusty Attachments - Survivors caught in a Reverse Bear Trap suffer from the Broken Status Effect

    • Jigsaw's Anointed Plan - no change

    • Interlocking Razor - no change

    • Bag of Gears - no change

    Purple

    • Tampered Timer - no change

    • Jigsaw's Sketch - no change

    • Crate of Gears - no change

    • Amanda's Secret - Successful Ambush attack activates Killer Instinct for all survivors within your Terror Radius for 6 seconds

    Pink

    • Ruleset No. 2 - Reverse Bear Traps activate after a survivor is unhooked

    • Amanda's Letter - no change

So, the main things that I wanted to change about most of these add-ons is how the Jigsaw Boxes and their skill checks are a minor inconvenience at best, and helpful to the survivors at worst. Making them harder should help make the RBT something that players fear, and NO I AM NOT SAYING BUFF THEIR LETHALITY. I'm asking that there is actual panic, and not mild annoyance.

Certain add-ons also just seem counter-productive, such as the Slow-Release Toxin giving Exhausted to TRAPPED survivors. I'm sorry devs, but even if you say that tunnelling is a "legitimate strategy", I'm not chasing someone who has a trap as they are predictable and will be in one of four (or 5 or 6....) places and not working on generators.

If you have any ideas or improvements to my current designs, then post those too as I was having trouble coming up with solutions for some of these such as the Interlocking Razor and Amanda's Secret. I'm also torn about Face Mask as Blindness can be really painful, but aura readings are kinda rare and one of my brothers said that Oblivious would be too powerful for a yellow add-on.

Here ya go! Things to note are that I have been playing since Darkness Among Us, and while my highest rank was 8 one season, it is purely to lack of devotion to killer. I'm also constantly in red ranks on survivor, so this is in a way both as an experienced Pig and what would scare me as a survivor.

  • @AhYesIPlayKateAndPig said:

The traps may need a rework now that im thinking about it. Personally, i use pig for her Dash Attacks not Traps so i dont normally run any Trap add-ons except for the occasional Rules set no.2 and TT. Normally i use Amanda's letter and Video Tape but just anything that is a ambush add-on most of the time(not always though)

I think that her traps are fine and Pig is an add-on pass and a few number tweaks away from being ine of the best killers in the game.

I did also do a full post about how I'd change most of these add-ons and even saying that the skill checks for the boxes should be replaced with the Doctor's Madness checks.

  • @AhYesIPlayKateAndPig said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1597686#Comment_1597686

so i force them to gens they with it basekit they get the gen activate the trap and go to another gen but they die from the trap so i trade a gen for a kill(yes i know traps are for pressure not kills)

Bat that is the exact opposite of what you want as Pig! Those RBT kills are both exceptionally rare, and costly. Not to mention that they're one of the few truly effective methods of slowing the game and avoiding Decisive Strike.

I'd rather see RS.2 work just like the original RBT worked in SAW, the first one, it activates when they get off hook in the same manner that Amanda's trap activated after she got off that chair.

  • No RS.2 base kit. It will force survivoes towards generators.

Hey just need to make the boxes harder for the box add-ons to actually work. As it stands, basic skill-checks with no modifiers allowed are too easy to hit and the existence of the Great result is a further detriment.

I can already see this developing into a long, drawn out confrontation, so I'll just share my bottom line and leave it at that:

Your claim that your side is the obviously correct one and that everyone else would reach the same conclusion if only they thought about it demeans your opposition and projects a "smarter-than-thou" personality.

I will not be taking further questions.

I never claimed to be the correct one. I just presented my thoughts and what I have heard, people challenged me, I defended my position.

If that's "self-importance" or "smarter-than-thou" to you, then maybe an internet forum isn't the place for you.

  • Interesting results.

There are several variants that seem to be missing here, however, especially the number of hits that survivors have taken over the course of a round. As a Pig who slugs tactically, I have noticed a rapid spike in that emblem, plus the extra stall.

I know exactly how to break a human body and how easy it is for anyone to do so, and have a deep fascination with horror and all it entails.

Also, I main Pig. I am 100% willing to torture people (in games) to get what I want.

I am NOT out there, however, to make people outright miserable. Unlike those completely toxic survivor hit-squads that do indeed exist.

  • The warrior form Xenomorph from Alien would be sweet! You could even have Amanda Ripley as the survivor and do an Alien: Isolation chapter.

As usual console is holding the game and pc back

Ummm. Hasn't stopped Blizzard with Overwatch in the past.

And thanks for insulting my preferred platform based on a lie. You've also missed the point of my request. We can't have a PTB because of their updates, not patches.

To repeat the important part: SMALL NUMBER TWEAKS OVER FULL REWORKS.

  • If anything, I would like to see more regular, but number tweak balances, rather than huge and sweeping full reworks.

Map, cosmetics and all that aren't that big a priority for me.

  • Lower ranks tend to have HEAPS of campers and tunnellers, especially those who play Wraith.

  • @NursesBootie said:

Even if major part of community says that selfcare is not effective, it is still very popular top 10 perk. I see it pretty much every game on red ranks. But I personally last time equipped it 2 years ago and I don't miss it.

This build should be good for looping and information and healing. So it should be your playstyle for this build to help. No exaustion perks, no stealth perks, no second chances. You've got to be good to compensate this.

Just heal up to 99% for Resilience, then pop it to full when Spine Chill activates.

  • Swap Botany Knowledge for Lithe and that is literally my build.

Skins might as well be a form of power as well as items.

Ever heard of a Blendette? Someone could go fun Ash with the puppet to bloody Ace.

That's the point being made here, and I totally agree with it.

    Devs really are survivor sided.

Well, the original post states items, not stuff like the Blendette.

Yes, I am extremely familiar with them, I did main Claudette until Cursed Legacy, hence my NAME, and there are easy ways around a Blendette.

And if the devs WERE survivor sided, then we would still have old Freddy and Doctor, vacuum pallets, permanently sabotaged hooks, infinite loops on just about every map, Borrowed Time would affect BOTH users still or camping and tunnelling being bannable offences. So, yeah. Pretty survivor sided.

  • Survivors have to be ON the generator for it to explode while Ruin is active. If I am remembering correctly, Surge is undamaged generators only, and Ruin auto-damages.

    What self-importance?

Just because I can explain how I reached a conclusion and actually try to think how others might, not to mention the part where I said "going off what I have heard".

sure just skins one may have 100 keys while others dont. The items are their powers so if a person is a blendette main with all perks and a ton of broken items such as keys and bnps, they go in as a different survivor and a swf decides grab a key lets get hatch well hell i dont have any on nea.... you see the difference in possible outcomes there? A survivor with keys vs one that has none..

    @supersonic853 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1594493#Comment_1594493

The problem comes from for me though and some others why would you use franklins if no items and lightborne with no flashlights. The killers supposed to use those perks if said items are coming in to give them a slight edge or their useless. Last second switching goes around that. Oh noone has items ill take off frankins then. *Last second 1 key red map and 2 flashlights* great.

Why do forum killers always focus on bloody keys? They're harder to pull off than a mori, and WAY less common. Not to mention more expensive over all and on the side that has tremendously less BP gain!

Look, I'm going off a combination of what I've A) heard from others and B) logically deduced by trying to think like an employee of bHVR. If I can come to that conclusion in all of 10 seconds, then it can't be that hard to understand. Item switching is a scummy tactic, but then again both sides have their fair share. If I am honest though, the survivor ones are usually more predictable because items can be seen.

  • Survivors are just skins, and it was introduced with MMR because your individual killers had their own modifier on your MMR. They feared, and rightfully so, that people would cheat this by loading in as a killer they perform terribly as or never play, then switch to their main killer for easier games.

There are no unique survivor powers so there isn't really a reason to do it, since swapping perks isn't locked either.

  • I'll say the same thing about this as I do for campers and tunnellers:

"I can't 'git gud' unless I have half a chance to practice, and I can't do that with your sorry ass camping/tunnelling/DCing on me now, can I?"

  • @Justalittlepeeck said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1594369#Comment_1594369

Somehow "unique" gameplay didn't stop BHVR and majority of people agreeing that "unique" gameplay of freddy needs a rework.

Pig is boring. There is nothing (at least for me) that is even remotely fun which happens on regular basis while playing Pig. You find a survivor, you put a hat, survivor removes a hat and you either say a curse word if he removes it instantly or say nothing if he wastes 2+ minutes on that.

And when facing Pig you are having regular frustration that you aren't going to be able to search a specific box because killer is patrolling that area or irritation when you've just removed a hat and get a new one.

Also, can you tell me where her gameplay is so specific and unique, that you can't call it "playing like any other killer"? Or are you implying that the killers like Nurse is less unique than Pig, which is not correct.

I could tell after TWO GAMES as Old Freddy that he needed a rework because his power was counter-intuitive. It actively harmed him by existing. Similar story with Doctor and how his Static Field was only strong in the lower ranks. I also said playstyle, not gameplay. Different fundamentals and mindset to begin with, not just her power.

Pig is boring TO YOU. I personally love playing her, and I think that her toolbox kit is fantastic since you have options for how you will deal with survivors. Not just "do thing in chase" like most of the killers have. Also, don't SPAM the RBT's, save them so that at least one or at maximum two survivors have one on. Their purpose is to essentially eliminate a survivor from the pool of survivors working on generators. If you can't secure a down between hooking the trapped survivor and them getting the RBT off, then I'm sorry but that says more about your play as her than the quality of her kit.

If a Pig gives you a second RBT, then they must really like you or they're terrible as her. Patrolling a box should never be a priority, or even an idea, for a decent Pig. The only time I have ever done so was unconsciously as it was a part of a 3-gen, as in literally in the middle of all 3 generators.

And again, playstyle is different to gameplay in this aspect, or at least it is for me. Pig has more to her than the usual "Find survivor, chase survivor, down survivor, hook survivor, repeat" type of gameplay that most other killers have. Yes, they all accomplish it in different ways, but at the end of the trial, they are all chase-centric. Pig is a toolbox stealth killer based around map control and seeding chaos. You can't play Trapper like he's the Deathslinger, and you can't play Pig like the Nurse. Trapper, Hag, Legion, Doctor and Pig all break the traditional styles of killers and require a different approach. So, yes, Nurse is less unique than Pig because all she does differently is ignore terrain and all Blinking will ever be is another chase-centric power that occasionally doubles up for some mobility. Pig has OPTIONS with crouching, ambush, the RBT's for mindgames, map pressure, stealth for easy first hits and general game stall.

You cannot compare killers to each other on such a small level. Yes each killer is unique, but a chase killer is still a chase killer. Everyone also finds different killers enjoyable. I personally despise Hillbilly, Leatherface and Hag, but there are people who love playing as them but you don't see me asking for FULL REWORKS because I don't like to play as or against them.

  • Pig. If you know what to do, and don't go up against a fully coordinated squad, the sheer chaos of gameplay is just delightful.

  • @TheClownIsKing said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1594287#Comment_1594287

Clown is fine. He just needs some minor tweaks, and for players to learn how to use him properly.

Same with Pig. You just can't play these killers like Billy, Nurse or Spirit.

  • @Justalittlepeeck said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1594292#Comment_1594292

So you are saying that the killer whose power is:

    • the most inconsistent in game
    • not even doing what it is supposed to do well
    • is under full survivors' control
    • enabling possibility for the scummiest strategies in game (yeah, RBT tunneling, no counterplay apart from lucky hatch which is least likely to happen than non-toxic rank 1 blendette)
    • the worst stealth ability in game, which hinders you more than helps
    • barely helping in chase and requires a lot of practice to get any profit

does not need a rework? You sure?

She desperately needs a rework, especially after a few patches that butchered her

Yes. That is exactly what I am saying.

Pig's current kit is now one of the most important in the game, because it helps deal with so many issues in the game. Her add-ons are also a major issue for her, and she's just a few number tweaks away from being one of the strongest killers in the game.

So, ask me again, as a PIG MAIN, does she need a full rework? No.

You cannot play her like every other killer, she has a more unique playstyle than "Find survivor, chase survivor" like most of the killers, she is the type of killer that you have to plan ahead for and focus way more in GENERATORS than hooks.

  • @Justalittlepeeck said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1594278#Comment_1594278

These killers and Clown don't need "just" an addon pass. They need a full rework.

Pig does NOT need a full rework!

She needs half her add-ons changed and that it is. I can count about 10 useful add-ons, with half of them being in families.

  • All I'm getting is rank 1 killers with rank 3 and below survivors. I'm so over it because the games aren't fun. It's just a slaughter and seeing who can survive longest.

Like realizing that you're the only healthy person and therefore you're the designated unhooker. Or knowing what gens not to do so you don't 3-gen the map.

Yeah, it can be like that.

But it's also using perks like Spine Chill and Bond to tell who's near and if the killer is coming after you, or Urban Evasion, Dance With Me and Iron Will to dodge a killer during a chase.

  • For me, it's based around the information that you are given and how you use it.

Being able to hold your own in a chase is also important, but information does still play a huge part in that.

Oh yeah, I don't know why people are talking about emblems, this thread is only in regards to BP

Most of these discussions are focused on emblems, and how they 4k'd and only got Brutal Killer. Or how they should be given "double" for emblems to equal the difference.

Overwatch also has a different sword over its head: the Overwatch League. You have investors paying 20 million to 60 million a slot, and the League not generating even the low-end return they were sold on. Plus, it's the brainchild of Robert Kotich, the CEO of Activision-Blizzard, and he was personally involved in recruiting investors like Robert Kraft in the beginning. So, Kaplan and team very likely also have to make sure Overwatch is fun to watch for the viewers.

Notice that the DPS nerfs on the most recent Experimental Card didn't happen until the season was over? Wanna bet they get buffs in time for the 2021 season? DPS equals flashy, entertaining plays for viewers.

BUT OVERWATCH IS TERRIBLE FOR OBSERVERS ON A FUNDAMENTAL LEVEL!

At least bHVR don't have that to worry about.

  • 3 hooks and DISTANCE+UNHOOK.

Devour Hope also feels like I could have actually done something to deal with it. NoED appears and makes me die a little inside.

The issue I have is that the "Moba" elements sold the game for a lot of folks. The market is flooded with FPS with powers. I could go play Apex Legends or Valorant or Hyper Scape or Rogue Company, or even several other options.

The core issue is, he stated that he considers Hog to be the benchmark for where he would like tanks to go. So . . . DPS with inflated HP pools?

What is the development vision for Overwatch anymore? Ironically, it's the same question we're now asking of DbD, too.

    Sadly this is true.

I don't think that DbD is anywhere near the point of Overwatch yet, but it can get there very quickly.
