I promise you survivors do not care about you or your fun.
And vice versa. Killers do not care about survivor's fun.
That is just dbd in a nutshell.
No, see. This is wrong. Not every last killer OR survivor is like this. I'll quickly agree that yes, it's a lot... And it's sad. But I'm literally never playing to be mean or to try hard anymore. I want everyone to have a good time, and if I can tell you only want to sweat and not have fun - I just do whatever I want in my way. Everyone should.. It's a game after all. 🤷🏻♂️
-
It's not like everyone is going to abuse it as often as other perks.
It'll get old after so long and people will stop doing it.
I personally thought it should've been base that survivors get extra wiggle progress when a killer falls with them.
I mean it's just logical, you fall from a high up spot with something heavy it's not going to be fun getting down.
I'm a killer main by the way so I'm not being biased towards survivors.

Or...well, anyone else that wants to try this.
So, this is what I'll be doing - in an attempt to both improve my game and also as an interesting experiment. A little challenge that should work for anyone from the lowest to the highest MMR.
It's designed to:
- Improve my fundamentals.
- Get better at chasing, gamesense and skill use on all killers I own, not just my favorites.
- Give me and my opponents a more varied experience.
- Improve my tracking of hook states across all survivors.
- Give everyone a more 'fun' game.
The rules:
1. I can play as hard as I like early on. However, I am not permitted to kill any survivors until *everyone* is on their death hook. If I accidently violate this rule, I must let all remaining survivors escape on 2 hooks. Suicides and DCs are not my fault though.
2. No camping unless all 5 gens are done and all four survivors remain.
3. I'll be starting as Trapper. I have to play Trapper until I 'win'.
4. After I win (note: a win is defined as sacrificing a minimum of 3 survivors. Games with a DC, suicide or AFK do not constitute a win) I have to switch to the next killer I own, proceeding linearly along the list, from left to right and from top to bottom. When I win as the last killer on my list, I go back to Trapper.
5. All perks and addons are acceptable.
6. Slugging is only permitted if it's to move directly to another chase, or to prevent DS/flashlight saves etc. Mass slugging is not permitted.
At the end of the lunar event, we all post our rough experiences in this thread. What was our win/loss ratio, and how survivors reacted to this playstyle, particularly in postgame.
Who's in?
Huh...I play like this everyday. Except I usually let everyone go on death hook no matter what - unless again BM means safety off - and just sweat at the start. If they keep sweating I just go the exit gate and wait. I ain't got time to get my day ruined by try hards. 😏

I think it happens when you switch your bottles to quickly and try to immediately throw one after switching.
It's pretty annoying tbh.
I feel it's then and when you switch while you're still in an animation of any kind.
Hopefully this will get fixed soon because it's more embarrassing than annoying to me. XD

there's WAY less DS in the survivors builds, they still run unbreakable which is fine but the fact this combo is pretty much gone feels so good, I don't tunnel more than I did before, but just the fact it happens way less than it did before feels amazing, my killer experience improved since the nerf, I don't play like a ######### and tunnel every survivor, that's not how you stay rank 1, but just the fact it'S way less likely to eat a DS because you down one hook one come back find the unhooked when it's the only one you saw and not get a DS feels good.
I had a Nancy actually use the "nerfed" DS on me, it was the end game and I just got through hooking a Bill; she popped out of nowhere and scared me so I knock her and my instant reaction is to pick up.
She hit me; gave Bill BT - Bill bodyblocked for Nancy.
They both got away, and I as a killer player was actually proud to see it used properly.

Bro have you seen the Trickster? Cause 4k was definitely not on their minds or at least I hope to gawd not.
No, never. I never intend a 4k, most of the time I don't even let it happen.
You actually don't have to full kill ANYONE in order to rank up too; as long as survivors don't do gens at the speed of light - you can get relentless.
Either way in my opinion playing Trickster is the same as playing Clown; you're really just there to have a good time.

Why is there a mechanic that basically does the job for the killer? I remember when this did not exist and killers were forced to hunt survivors and actually put in effort to finish the game.
I have been noticing a pattern for a long time that no matter what you do the killer always and I mean every single game will hook the 3rd survivor and immediately go straight to the hatch, close it and watch the gates for an ez win. Isn’t games supposed to be challenging? There is literally nothing as a survivor you can do to win in this situation at all. There is no hope when a killer sits on 3 gens and then wins by closing the hatch every time in this situation. It is not fair.
Before this mechanic was added, killers had tension in either watching the hatch or not. As survivor at least you had an opportunity to escape by either doing the last gen or finding the hatch if the killer didn’t know where it was at. There was actually hope in trying to escape. Now there is not any at all and it really baffles me how this is not discussed more.
I have an idea to fix this grossly imbalanced mechanic and add a little hope and make the killer not have an ez win for free. Why is kicking a hatch closed actually locking it? This is the major flaw in its design. It should be closed but NOT locked! The survivor can still open the hatch but instead of it being immediately opened as it does so with the key, the survivor has a 3 second struggle to open it. This way the killer is not getting an ez win by watching the gates and the survivor can open the hatch and get out if he leaves it.
I open the gate and shove everyone out.
You know what's really annoying?
When survivors stay right at the exit and then dash away like a little turd.
There's literally no point in you being there except to, again; waste the killers time - just like when there was no end game collapse.
A lot of your posts have been horribly counterproductive, there literally just there to complain about something that's not making the game be easy for you.

Playing a few games at red ranks has reminded me how overpowered killers can be. Doctor and overpowered Bubba with his 1-shot that lasts forever. Before I reached the third game, it was a slugging overpowered Huntress of course. You can’t play long without seeing Huntress because she is so overpowered with an unfair advantage. At one point, one was on the hook, another was slugged, I tried to make a save before they reached death stage and she played proxy camp and got me before I could make the save. 4 gens was still up and survivors are helpless.
Killers moan about that one loss, but there is no question 4K happens too much. A coordinated SWF is the only possible way to somewhat slowdown killrushers. But most SWF don’t win either. Killers have been buffed too much and survivors nerfed too much. Way too many tracking and gen perks making it too easy for killers.
A mid-chapter buffing survivors and survivor perks like they gave tinkerer would be a refreshing change. Where is the survivor’s NOED? It doesn’t exist. Constantly nerfing survivors and buffing killers is making the game unfun.
It needs to be looked into how much killers win.
Pfft-
As soon as I touched rank one as killer I got troll SWF over and over again; never did I have a fun one where we all just played non-douchey and normal-esque.
You may think that EVERY killer is a constant winner but I've very rarely gone try hard in this game after rank one; even while I was still in red ranks I would just start playing for challenges or fun.
If you looked at how often I lost you'd probably be sick; and I KNOW it's not me either. I just get really sweaty people when I'm not sweating anymore.

@Sluzzy said:
How many counters does a perk need? Since killers didn’t know how to play around the perk it will now have the most ways to disable itself than any other perk in the game. Pretty much paralyzing the survivor to keep it. As difficult as it is for the survivor to complete objectives this is a huge set back. Most matches there is little hope. Killers have nothing to do but one objective while survivors have to do several and on top of that punished for doing anything where killer perks completely changes the game. Now survivor perks punish for playing the game.
A perk “Nothing to be afraid of” is really the opposite now. More afraid of losing it and needing it when a spirit phases all the way back and tunnel. Was it forgotten that being a survivor you should try to heal yourself if you are injured? What benefit is it to have good med kits? It should be fair game to try to heal yourself and not worry with losing a perk. Not to mention trying to help your team. Now Bubba will be stronger in the basement because BT does nothing to him, DS you could maybe unhook someone and have a chance for only one to get out. An unnecessary buff where Bubba didn't need it because there is no counterplay to killers like Bubba.
It was nerfed way too much to benefit only killers and make their game easier than it already is with nothing added to it to help survivors. Like the least that could have been done was to stop the timer if someone is being chased or slugged on the ground. I thought 1-time use perks should be powerful, not very weak and catering to the other side so much. Undying was a busted perk and it won the killer the game, yet it still got huge counter buffs when it was nerfed. DS is only a 1-time use perk and it can really only be used by a facecamping killer now and that assumes that they don’t slug. It is ridiculous decisive strike will be so situational and only useable if killer plays a specific way and can still prevent it from being used by slugging. Lets be sure killers can abuse it. The decisive strike nerfs were rushed and for only to entertain killers.
Pfft. LOL
As a killer player that almost NEVER camps or tunnels, DS was unfair af.
I would go get someone away doing a gen nearby me after I bothered to walk away because they had a fat crutch they could lean on.
This DS is becoming what it should've been a long time ago.
-
There's been one single time I was toxic in a game..
They trolled and t-bagged me because they knew at that time I was fairly new and enjoy Ghostface who simply stabs.
So I had Rancor and t-bagged the obsession while the rest did the generators.
He had adrenaline and tried to run; bit knock and Mori him only to get an " F*** you " after the game.
Just a friendly reminder that the nice killers CAN be bad; but that's up to you and your actions in my games at least.
I'm not religious but I do believe to treat others the way you want to be treated.
So they must've wanted to be treated like garbage because man; it takes a lot to get me stirred up.

Also while we're at it, can we just take self-care out of the game? And urban evasion? They are okay perks for good survivors, but they destroy most solo q games. I normally play with friends, but it is disgusting how many people who refuse teammate heals to self-care
Nothing better then watching your rando teammates waddling like a penguin through the whole map when the killer isn't nearby, or watching randos run to the corner to self-care against no-ed.
Rants over
I never play survivor. But I have a full understanding of what they go through when I play.
Do you do the same for the killer? Probably not.
You want them to think about the survivors like they're just players; well I'd like the same for killers.
But because we're "killers" we're awful people that MUST want you to suffer. (Sarcasm)
I have never thought I needed a 4 k unless I needed to rank up - which I do now simply because I'd like to face off against my favorite youtubers.
There's plenty of rude and mean killers in this game that just want it only their way; but not all of us. :L

Just had a match with a rank 4 killer playing pig. I was able to loop her well and she had given up on the chase multiple times and decided to just tunnel two of my other teammates. ( the minute one was taken off hook she would go straight for the injured one) I had only been hit once, never hooked. I managed to do all but one gen when the time came and I was the last one alive. She immediately closed hatch and found me and one hit down me with NOED. Honestly I’m not the best player but even I knew she wasn’t that great, at least with Pig. It sucks that I did pretty amazing that match and got screwed over by a perk a lot of people use to get a free kill. It feels like my efforts were undetermined very cheaply by this perk. I’m not saying get rid of NOED but perhaps if there’s only one other survivor left then NOED shouldn’t activate. Like to me NOED is used as a last ditch effort when all the survivors are still alive endgame and the killer hasn’t gotten anyone.
I just have one thing to say...
The perks name.
" No ONE Escapes Death "
That should include you.
Because I might want that last person gone when it's a lengthy game and I know I deserve the 4 k for once in my life.
Just like survivors claim they do enough to leave when hatch spawns.
It's silly that keys or Mori's, the killer gets the bad end of it all and displeases the Entity with a derank. It just makes the game short af.

You don't need BBQ to kill survivors.
Learning how to track survivors is more important. You always find your first survivor without BBQ. Apply that kill to each survivor.
You know, people could just say get better; practice more.
Git gud makes you seem like you really don't care.

So long story short, I bought Ash, unlocked Flip flop and prestiged Kate cause I want to do a wiggle build on her with Unbreakable, Power struggle, and boil over. The bloodweb is refusing to give me Flip Flop so I can complete it. I keep picking up every yellow perk because by logic, I should get it eventually right? Wrong! I have enough yellow perks to fill up a whole selection screen. I even made sure I had it unlocked. I'm like, 70+ levels into kate now but Flip Flop refuses to show up. It's been 3 days of playing please game, I beg you. The amount of games I could've survived if the bloodweb just gave me it sooner... I have no idea how many perks I have left to get but I hope to get it by tommorow.
EDIT: I just leveled up the bloodweb and it gave me three green perks with one yellow and it's not Flip Flop but balanced Landing. I'm too scared to level up past this point now cause Im scared the game glitched on me or something and that's why I haven't got Flip Flop yet. Guess I'll see when I wake up tomorrow...
Pretty much what everyone is saying - it's just bad rng/luck.
I always level up the perks fully- even those that I don't want - just to get them permanently out of the way; just so you know.

I don’t want them to increase gen times tbh. Gens are boring enough as it is. I think they should make it where survivors can’t immediately spawn on top of gens.
And maybe make it actually a bit of a challenge to find them? I feel like that would make for good gameplay.
Most people already know where they are, and the ones that - don't get to see the tall heads of gens ( excluding stuff like The Game ) and find them easy.

Just had a match where everyone was constantly grouped together and the minute I hooked someone they would unhook. Of course most of them had Dead Hard except one. They kept trying to bodyblock and would never leave the hook so forced me to camp. Finally downed the one who didn’t have dead hard and killed him. Everyone else escaped. Think they were a team cause I could never find them for the longest. Also I’m low level Killer 13. Getting ranked with sweaty tryhard reds. The one I killed messaged me accusing me of tunneling and I need to get skills. It’s not my fault they all hovered around the hook and I couldn’t leave. I seriously wanted to DC cause it was the swamp, everything was dark and all everyone do was crouch. I only get one kill and I get hate for it. And of course these survivors were toxic. Constantly tbagging and such. I managed to hook and chase others so I wasnt tunneling. I mostly camped the dude during endgame cause they were constantly around me. All of them.
It made me feel like a loser honestly. They had all the advantages in this match and I had practically none. I was the Huntress. I can throw a hatchet....yay. Honesty doesn’t make me want to play Killer anymore.
No one can blame you for feeling this way, but you played fair from what it sounds like they did as survivors.
Usually the killer role can be stressful because sometimes you want both sides to have a good time, but it almost never happens.
But when it does - those moments are great.
Some people are butthurt, and some are here to have fun - it's up to you to decide if you want to keep on in this game and no one will blame you for leaving.

This is a slight improvement but why do they have to insist on the vertical stacked placement of the character portraits? It still takes up most of the left portion of the screen.
That's a great point and I haven't even been able to try out the recent changes sadly.
But you don't usually try to look for survivors right underneath yourself so it should be much better having it down low than to either of the sides.
I am definitely happy to see the actual survivor specific icons, as I get tired of bothering to keep names with characters in a match.
Much easier to differentiate Bill from the Nancy that was just being a toxic little turd.
-
@Eareland said:
Everything on the screen is spread out, character icons change was unnecessary, and they look way too "out-of-place", also they're a bit distracting, exhaustion icon outline color is bad, so it's hard to tell when your perk is ready to use again. Also, please, get rid of those small button icons on your item or killer power, because that is some tutorial stuff. Make better and longer tutorial where you teach all that stuff.
Game is from 2016 and it has very few in-game options (compared to game file options). I have an option idea!:
Revert back to old UI
And this has been posted tens of times already:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/JVP8JLGS9K9X/dookie-5b1-5d-5b1-5d.png
Thank you.
I sadly can't try this out yet because my Xbox died.
But it looks so good; I don't see the problem?
It's a change, and that's why no one likes it? Because it's something different?
They're also trying to get with the times and make their game look even better for next gen consoles and such.
In my opinion, there needs to be an option to have the old stuff on or new.
Because I really feel I'll love this update, and others will too; but plenty can't stand it for some reason or another - so they need a way to be catered too as well.

I've never understood the term "fair killer". I will allways tunnel and camp when i think it will give me the best chances to win. Usually camping is terrible as they just do gens and tunneling is also bad because you know they might have ds, so it does discourage tunnelling in most cases. Even if i get hit by ds it might not allways be a good idea to tunnel that guy if you have better targets.
I would say that for killers like me that just want to win the game DS is very healthy for the game and it really discourages me from tunneling people.
I guess I'm the definition of a fair killer.
I purposely use ebony Mori's for two reasons - to keep track of who is on final hook; and/or if they were really rude/trolls to actually use the Mori as intended.
I don't care about my ranking or whatever it's called now; I just want a fun game. My definition of a fun game is just normal gameplay ( looping me, me hooking and hitting WITHOUT tunneling or camping ).
To me I just think about if I were in their shoes playing survivor and they're actually a good group of players that aren't super sweats - how I would feel about losing; so I enjoy making others feel happy. Getting brutal/ruthless is fine with me, it's just how they act that makes me feel like I shouldn't be the "fair" killer anymore.

You will have to forgive me but I don't think you will be any harder to kill loading up on the so-called Meta Perks. I'm not sure how this myth got started, but the common Survivor Meta Perks don't ensure your survival; more often they don't do squat for you. They only become really strong when spammed by a SWF. You shouldn't let one bad match tilt you. It is the wrong attitude to have in this game, and it will diminish your fun.
You should probably stop using the word "toxic" and ignore anyone who throws it around willy nilly. There is no such animal. There is just what is legal under the rules and what isn't legal. You got tunneled? So what? It happens to everyone now and then. To some people, it seems to happen all the time. Weird; I don't know what to say to that, except that the only common denominator in all those matches is the guy/gal getting tunneled. Perhaps they should own up to being a factor in it themselves.
By all means, play as hard as you want. I never understand people who aren't giving a 100%. Just keep silly statements about codes of honor and that to yourself. That is just pathetic, passive aggressive nonsense. The only thing one has to do to be a "good sport" playing Dead by Daylight is:
- Don't cheat, either by hacks or lag spikes.
- Don't disconnect; if you start a game, finish it.
- Be humble in victory and gracious in defeat.
And for the record, getting tilted and ranting about toxic players isn't being gracious in defeat.
No, there are toxic players; just not as many as people conceive.
I dunno who thinks there is no toxicity in games but there is, no matter what game you play.
You'll eventually run into a troll that is just nothing but rude and clearly uncaring of the others feelings.
If you think that DbD is special and can't have bad eggs, you're horribly wrong

Idc anymore. Im sick of it. So now its whatever. Your opinion of me doesnt bother me. So keep the insults to yourself or not idc. Lol
Good job, you gave in to your own petty desires.
I never play survivor, and I'm a really good killer player; I never like to tunnel or camp.
I've played for over a year and half now, you just need to go to a different game if you can't handle any of this.
Killer or survivor you deal with BS everyday at least one game. You're never going to get a day away from it unless you go play other stuff.
But I can say that there is a point to go back and be toxic, and that's when you can TELL mid-game that the person isn't a fair player.
I played Ghostface for the first time and I get horribly trolled and T-Bagged; I usually never stoop to their level but boy when I Rancor'd that awful troll I just opened the gate and made the rest leave. It's fine to do it when you KNOW that person is just... Undeserving of the game they're playing.

Neither side is hard. Extremely frustrating depending on several factors. But it's never hard.
Uh... Survivor IS hard for someone like me.
I only play killer because the few times I try to play survivor I am just too jumpy to do ANYTHING properly.
All I'm good for is distracting the killer until I finally die.
That's the bad thing about the post that started all this - they grouped every kind of survivor together but I've had PLENTY of fun games where I use an ebony Mori to keep track of hook progress; and I let everyone go if it's a fair and fun game.
But if you troll me I'll just Uno Reverse Card your butt.
-
I'm honestly glad I stopped playing so seriously.
It's just way too much already as is to try against a team of any calibur for killers that just want fun instead of a sweaty game.
I literally never use this combo unless I have to get challenges done; and if it's getting changed - now I have little to no help simply doing daily stuff or even low tier Rift challenges.
This game turned from fun to try hard and it makes me sad.
I'll just say again..
Casual mode & Competitive mode? Instead of giving insensitive to be even more try hard since higher ranks will possibly soon give great rewards.
Still sad that my Xbox has died and I can't come to play this wonderful bug of a game, no matter what.
I'm odd.

I bought the game this Christmas and played as a killer only once.
As the huntress.
Throughout the game, I could not find the survivors. I only found one survivor when they i had only 1 gen left, he was injured but managed to ran away.
When the exit was open, everyone stood there, pressing Ctrl and leaving away as I approached them.
I felt pretty sad. I couldn't find them, I lost them pretty quickly in the chase and at the end of the match they gave a kind of gesture that says "You're really bad, we're already out."
Since then I have stayed as a survivor. I have always loved this role, but at the same time I also want to be in the second role, with the power.
I watched videos, read questions that were all related to the killers in the game. And I came to the conclusion that the they are getting hate.
I want to play as a killer but a nice killer, who gives an easy "life" to survivors sometimes. but I'm afraid of the attitude I'm going to get from the survivors. because I'm not good as a killer.
I want to play as The spirit and The legion, but to tell you the truth, I have no confidence to play as killer because of what happened.
I know it will probably take me a lot of games until I get used to it and find survivors. But until then.. how do I deal with mean survivors?
Take it from a person that's always in the end trying to be the nice killer.
I honestly start using ebony Mori's now to know when someone is on death hook and don't kill them.
What I do when I notice that I have teams like you described - is just ignore them and go look around at the map; enjoy some time to yourself.
That way you're not losing whatever points you might've made and you aren't being the jerk in the situation.
Never feed the trolls kids; and those that will consider what I'm saying " gives them what they want " - I say bull. If they're being mean then they clearly want to make you suffer. Just ignore them and get some ideas of how to move as certain killers around maps. As huntress too, I'd be practicing my gen shots. ( Get a long good angle and hatchet someone on a generator. ) It's pretty funny.
Otherwise; I suggest not playing killer. I've had way too many rude games - but I still tried regardless. I will always try for those that just want to have a good time.

I can kinda agree with the factor that if they're using an Iri Head that they're not as good - I'd know.. :D Hell, even when I use it I usually don't bother to until I find the really good player in the team or if I know I need to instead of just hitting. Then again I'm one of the few killers just trying for a good time.

So I just wasted a massive amount of BP to get a Gideon Map to do a little Spooky Myers (also known as Jump Scare). As most of you know, statistically you don't get Gideon, Hawkins, Lerys, or Midwich near as much as the larger, outside maps. I played Survivor all day, introduced some new people to the game, and felt I had earned a little R&R. So obscene amount of BP exhausted and map acquired.
One Survivor quits literally in the first twenty-five seconds right after catching a glimpse of me from the floor below, through a hole, to where I stand upstairs. I guess a Myers traumatized him/her previously. So now I have a choice, cut what good wood I can out of this deadfall and stretch this game fifteen or twenty minutes, effectively torturing the poor remaining group of Survivors to make sure I at least get a Pip and maximum points out of my BP expense, or be nice and let them farm. It is the holiday season, so I let them farm.
What the hell; I mean I don't enjoy matches where they have little to no chance. They got lots of points and I got out with a Brutal Killer. It was a long process, however, and not the R&R I was hoping for this evening. So let me stress something to all you pathetic, wannabe quitters who simply can't be bothered to finish the games you start. There are other games out there where you don't inconvenience other people. There are lots of games for those of you who just can't stand the heat in the kitchen. At least if you go and play those, you won't reveal yourselves to be the joke you are in fact when you disconnect here.
Do I sound tilted or triggered? I am, a little. I'm annoyed at my own inconvenience; yes. But more I'm angry for the three Survivors you left to rot. The Killer you left them to die with might not have been feeling generous. Do you know just how miserable an experience you left them to face? What kind of coward are you? Put on your grown up pants and take responsibility for your actions. If you start a game, finish it. Play it to the bitter end. You might surprise yourself and win regardless off the Killer and map you pulled. Even if you don't, you will learn something. You will stand for something.
We all have games which go south. I've been on the receiving end (just like everyone else) of being tunneled and camped and spending most of the match on the ground and a hook. I struggle as long as possible to buy the others more time. If I know I'm going down I run to some remote, pain in the rear spot on the map to even further help the others. This is a 4v1 and some of us aren't getting out. Take your lumps, because someday you will want someone else to do it for you. You shouldn't have to be in a SWF to do right by the other Survivors. So I'm going to get off my soapbox, my spleen vented. Play the game, or don't play the game.
This is totally my mindset when playing.
It's really hard to have a good time as killer when that one person either I quits or kills themselves on hook, and I'm not one to up and rage quit, I'll at least just go to one of the exit gates and open one only to block the other. ( If I have negative players in my game anyway. )

So, instead of trying to balance out bad map layouts that allow exhaustion perks to be so popular, you want them to be more DETRIMENTAL, i.e. making people play the least optimal playstyle, immersed. You ask, "No I never said that, why?" because you slowed people down, which doesn't make sense from a balancing perspective.
I don't disagree with a key change, they need to get on that ASAP, but then you try to defend old Moris, which, NO. You're points are both wrong:
1) Pips don't matter, you'll get survivors around the same level of skill each time unless they're on comms
2) People get bullied for using keys, too. It's just one person over four.
The fact that you think one shot makes killer immediately viable shows a lack of playtime, imo low hours = less skill = ranting about "unbalanced" things that are balanced.
That about covers your entire rant, it basically says instead of survivor sided it should be killer sided.
P.S. You can't fix comms, there isn't a way.
I only have one thing to say to this post and that's - if pips don't matter then why do I mainly get new players?
I have a low rank now because I left the game for a month and half or something-- 16. I've been red rank before, 1 even.
It's rare that I see survivors that are of my knowledge in the game, it happens but ranking is just awkward anyway.
Always has been.
-
We really going to say it's not a thing?
It's really only ever done by players of high ranks/playtime who simply know the map and how to avoid the killer the best way possible.
But my version is that - but you NEVER interact with the killer; you play DbD like it's Hide'N Seek and don't bother to come out.
Other than that yeah, you just need to play more and get better - or as the rude childish trolls like to say..
"Git Gud."
To which I say I am; now stop playing hide and seek.
PS: Not EVERYONE is a sweat that uses headphones; they're trying to have fun. Which is literally the concept of the word 'game'. But the definition of fun varies so you can't go based off people that just want to have a good time - which sucks.

Half of my hatch escapes are while being chased. If the killer has 1 more second, I would die.
If I had to go thru a animation, I will die next to hatch which happened many times before.
You don't seem to grasp that it isn't going to truly matter in the end just like the Mori change.
I do nothing but play killer, and I watch plenty of high skill survivor play just to get into the minds of them.
If you have this much trouble then you're just screwed - or you need to stop playing solo and get a team together; otherwise no matter what you do you're not going to have a good game.
Especially if you depend on the hatch in most games, then you just need to stop playing solo or just get more used to playing that way to the point you can almost always get a guaranteed out; which is most likely never.

I may be bias here, but I really like keys. I am a solo player. I have no friends. I get killed by the killer and bullied by swf teams. I really need the keys. Plz don't nerf.
LOL
No I get where you're coming from - I truly do. That's why I never play survivor.
But I think an animation isn't really a nerf like what they did to Mori's.
Though I already waited until last hook to Mori anyway.

There’s nothing fun about a red rank SWF managing to dodge every single one of Victor’s pounces and crushing him micro seconds later.
It makes using the Twins entirely pointless if no matter what I do, no matter how carefully I track or wait, the moment the pounce is activated they simply step right or left and avoid it (or they’ve managed to reach a tight loop like a tree that’s impossible for Victor to deal with even with toy sword)
Then all I can tell you is you're screwed dude.
It's gonna happen, it's literally inevitable in every game unless you're a literal God.
Just like in any game that requires aim, you will miss at times; and you either have to just get over it or practice harder.

The keys don't need no fixing. Just you and ppl who are upset cuz of mori nerf.
But I really like your idea of the mori, as oppose to what the devs came up with.
It's not that they need fixing as much as at least given an animation that takes up time; if you're taking away the only way killers can make awful five minute or less games like survivors with keys do then it's of course going to cause controversy.
But hell, even without keys survivors can make those short and awful games.

Please zombie Jesus, how are you minimising missed pounces on a controller?
It’s becoming infuriating against red rank survivors that anywhere from 50% of the time in a match, to 100% of the time in a match that survivors dodge pounce all to easily.
I’ve tried tips like moving backwards a bit while charging to stop losing track of the irritating zig zagging survivor, but they’re often able to side step last second, and then kick. And this also doesn’t work around small loops either.
I’ve tried other suggestions here from those claiming pounce is easy to land, but I’m suspecting most of these claims are coming from PC players with M&KB.
So are there are Twins players on console that have figured out a reliable way to get around this BS survivor tactic?!
Please, I’m starting to wonder how I managed to get their Adept, and just totally give up on them.
I love playing them on my Xbox, and the best thing I can tell you is to treat Victor like a Hatchet and wait a moment; most of the time they just keep moving and it gets predictable.
But I think everyone just needs to calm down and have fun with the Twins instead of trying so hard - I have a much better time and at times I win.

God I swear some of you just want to complain and are insecure with your own abilities! I know DAMN well there are lots of you guys on this forum who can ABSOLUTELY DESTROY swf and key users and some of you honestly suck. Thats how a game play base is but just quit acting like this mori nerf reflects anything. IT DOES NOT!!!
Jesus Christ we all know keys and Moris are too strong but keys are still weaker and need more changes. It isn't showing a double standard or survivor sided devs its simple freaking math. Oh you have like 15 issues needed to be solved and then you have 2 issues you WANT to solve? Well one of them requires half the time to fix all those 15 bugs and the other requires a value change. AND YOU HAVE limited TIME! So please get your guys head out of your rear and quit being belligerent. If they pushed back the updates you all would be upset and this change if it was warned so soon we all know killers would use Moris dont act like there is a double standard over a simple choice to pick the easiest problem for a limited time frame. The true double standard is complaining about how unfair it is and how everyone is using keys when you would do the same if it was keys changed first.
Also keys arent that hard to freaking deal with. I have made it to rank one like everyone else and the fact people lose all the time like they say is laughable. At least on MY servers I am am among the best survivors that I have PERSONALLY met. I can't even play solo without people dying or playing like noobs. Hell @azame can even vouch for this but most red ranks are trash and if you lose to them you have to get better. Some times the game throws unfair maps or what not or maybe an occasional good swf but its not all the time. And I have BARELY had a key make a difference survivor or killer match. And I am not even a freaking killer main. If you think you NEED a mori or key to win you are NOT good. If you think you need a mori to beat a key you are not good. Only when its a actual good swf or immersed survivors where its a major issue. Hell even moris aren't that bad to deal with if you have good teammates but its stronger and will always be. Moris are a more pressing issue but yeah the change should have happened at the same time but it didn't and don't act like the game is hopeless now. It makes you seem Like you're new to the game.
Also little PSA if you know where the hatch is there wont be 3 escapes and if 4 escape with a key you already lost before they used the hatch. Aint now way 4 people should live to all escape through the hatch. Grow some integrity and admit when you aren't that good or when your miss is your fault. On a lighter note, I like this forum and its members even if it is filled with toxicity and idiots. Some people are just really genuine or helpful and some are funny. All of you guys play this game like me and understand some things are wrong but I have faith in all of you I think that all of you can overcome these issues so please quit making the same threads and making this community worse just grow as a person and a player please
You may be right but geeze dude, rude beginning.
Seems more like you're complaining about others' complaining.
But to whoever is for some odd reason complaining about the Mori change and you're survivor - #########. If you're killer; it's literally the same - you just don't get to make quick games like most survivors do - with OR without a key.

I've noticed really good players will actually just hold their aim still with Victor and wait for the survivor to move back and forth INTO their pounce.
I find it next to impossible to reliably escape Victor as a survivor unless the killer messes up big time with the pounce. Usually if the latter is the case, Victor is flung so far that I can't get to him in time to crush him so he can just try again (And I've run right up to him making for an easy pounce lol).
Also let's be real, Victor comes back quite fast even after being crushed. Yes if he gets crushed it's a major blow to the killer player but I think this downtime on Victor is exaggerated a bit at times when the cooldown really is quite forgiving.
This is the post everyone should be looking at right now; such facts.

Its good that this Change comes out of nowhere. Otherwise the next days would be mori-spamming nightmares.
Regarding Keys - they will get changed as well. Someone will come up with it, but Devs said in one Livestream that Keys and Moris might not be changed during the same Patch.

Arent you someone who was defending Moris for the Animation? Thats what you still get - an animation. So nothing to complain about from your side.
That last part is exactly right.
I already used Mori's like how they made them now, so I just tried a game with one to see if everyone would stay.
I got an instant DC because I was smart and used Charlotte to block the pallet-less side of the shack while I ran around with Victor and downed them.
I feel like it didn't really matter and that people would still DC but geeze.

It only has one entrance but the survivors can run around you at it, there's 3 lockers the survivors can hide in, and a chest.
The only way a killer can make use of the basement is if they are camping so they can do it to multiple people at the same time.
Simple, to create better pressure.
The basement is much more out of the way than a hook above ground, so it's a time waster for them.
That and Basement Trapper. Mmm that's good.

That’s the problem with the Twins. Their power is so bad and so poorly-constructed that if you’re not sweating your ass off, you’re getting kicked in the face around every single corner and never allowed to even play the damn game. You either play the Twins like a scumbag, or you don’t play the Twins because the Survivors said no.
I don't really sweat and most of my games are going fine; maybe two matches a day where they're just being trolls about it and just rushing through the game.
But if you're constantly getting people with higher knowledge of the game - some are even ranked poorly - then yeah I can see every game being a sweat game with this killer.
But I've had more fun games than sweaty since the actual release. But that's just me.

Newer players get better..thats inevitable , so the devs needs to understand that..I went through it..everyone before me went through it, yet we are still here, people don't need to be hand held at the expense of dedicated players..its not right
That's not completely true, not everyone gets better.
I am a killer main simply because I CANNOT play survivor. I'm a coward and that's something I cannot get through and over - I'm a jumpy person, so I will just be a liability to my team because I'll be solo. There are surly others out there that feel the same and cannot just simply overcome how we physically/mentally are.
I'm starting to just not play unless I'm angry anymore, I used to play this game for fun but because everyone always wants to win instead of having a fun/good time. Winning should be a bonus and not the objective, but people will play the way they want; and in my 2400+ hours I've had about enough of everyone only doing what they want and not thinking about the other party. It makes for really unsettling games.

Announcement of freddy changes has been made..and yet I think its a terrible decision to be making..despite his kill rating nobody worth their salt as a killer views him as top of the pyramid, the issue we find ourselves in a situation i worried was coming..the severe lack of competent matchmaking has created a mix of players at all levels , this hereby resulting in teams of random survivors being handicapped by less experience players, combine that with the killers emblem system requiring more effort to keep up, so even when the matches are all red ranks there are many that don't belong there seeping into them
This all pools into creating unreliable stats and in game experience which is only going to inflate the bad experiences of higher tier killer players beyond what they already can be Because the game isn't properly equipped to handle teams with intimate game knowledge and skill..I forsee this freddy change heading to disaster and when they finally get real numbers for higher levels of play it'll result in a bigger backlog if they overlap freddy as im very worried they will..I think they need to wait and focus on the games low points rather than shoot themselves in the foot
I agree and totally understand it affects the people with more TRUE experience in this game - but they have to try and think about the new player base as well; which is why I really think they need to have separate game modes and proper banning system to go with it.
Another thing I had in my mind was that every killer they have come out with ever since Leatherface has been intermediate difficulty or higher - they haven't given a new killer that's easy to handle in a long time; I feel that's for the others that have played since the start but I'm not settling that in stone just yet.

If you block off the pallet as Charlotte, the Survivor can camp the window and never get Entity blockers, wait for Victor to screw up a pounce, and then kick him.
If you block off the window, it's the same except the Survivor has to drop the pallet first. Break the pallet as Charlotte? They'll run to the next one.
If you block as Victor, you're still a 115 Killer with no abilities needing to deal with a pallet or window.
And then there's dropping the pallet on Victor to kill him, or dropping it on Charlotte to force you to play as her, and then kicking Victor. And then there's running around corners to counter Victor and holding W to counter Charlotte and... yeah, it's got a lot of counters.
Still not that good at anti-loop.
And yes, I read what you put up. You said they have good anti-loop; I said they didn't. Simple as.
I didn't say that they had GREAT anti-loop potential either.
I know that putting either in the direct middle of a pallet either wakes Charlotte or kills Victor, if anything they're only really useful at the shack with anti-loop, but you could still do it, you just won't be as optimal.
Again I'd like to say, this is from someone who wants to have FUN and not try so hard I possibly sweat my skin off. So playing like this is really fun for both sides so long as you aren't anal about losing - which it seems you don't like to do. But I don't care to lose, I just care when my game is being stomped on by rude trolls - which in most my games of 2400+ hours have been trolls in high ranks treating you like garbage for having fun.

It’s really not. The hitboxes are terrible and it takes way too long to charge. You will absolutely run around a wall Victor can’t clear before he can pounce.
And then, of course, you miss ONE pounce and the Survivors have all the time in the world to kick and kill you.
The anti-loop really isn’t anything special.
You clearly didn't read what I put up.
I just talked about the bad experience I had looping ONLY as Victor and have yet to try and place Charlotte at a pallet, window, etc. - to body block while I try to see what can be done with Victor. Blocking cuts off a solo pallet and shortens a shack chase especially if you leave the window open to let Victor jump through.
But I agree that if you miss it is a bad blow to your chase time - but I don't try hard to win and do perfect plays; I'm here to scare and have a good time.
And I have a crap ton of fun with this killer, even if I get brutal all the time; I truly don't care.
-
Ah yes, I literally just had this experience.
It was painful - but the post they put up is true; it's pretty anti-loop if you have the patience to do it.
I think I'll try it next time.

I find that the opposite is true. For example after rank reset, the games are so simple and easy that I just feel bad for the survivors. At high ranks I feel like I've achieved something and I've been challenged. If I ever get so good that I no longer feel challenged in this game I'll probably quit.
But again they're not talking about how hard the game is.
It's not the GAME at all, it's the survivors that scream bloody murder when you don't give them their fun game but act like complete children just because they know what to do.
That's why I took a break and I'm back at rank 18 from being rank 1-4.
But I still deal with sweats/trolls even then which makes me really sad.
So I just mess around in every game instead of trying at all. Pointless to try, just have fun.

I'm a Rank 11 killer.
I just played for an hour and a half and every single round had at least 2 red ranks, at least 1 purple rank, and if I was lucky, someone actually near my rank. It wasn't fun at all. I've been playing for like a month. I don't even have any characters to level 50 yet.
Not to mention they always seemed so pleased as punch to have an awful killer. The constant BM was so disheartening. I wasn't playing toxic. I avoided tunneling and camping, I didn't hit on hook, I didn't do anything but try to chase them off gens. But every single time was a million flashlight clicks, exit gate teabags, pallet teabags, etc.
I seriously don't understand. I'm new. Why am I being paired with these people? It wouldn't even be that bad if they would just take the win and leave, they're determined to drag the match out and make it hurt. It's not even a learning experience at this point.
To be clear, I'm not judging them for using certain perks or anything like that. I'm a firm believer that every perk is fair. But man, I'm just so annoyed.
Sorry for the useless rant.
What really sucks is you can't go on break and come back to try over again; I used to be red rank and got tired of it so I took a break and now I'm at the lowest rank but still will face red from time to time.
I dunno what to tell you other than to try and take a break and hope it isn't the same for you like it was for me.
