What is the project here BHVR ?

I mean, creating killers that you can't counter at all.

    • The Hag
    • Gunslinger
    • PH
    • Stridor Spirit

Every other killers are fine but those are impossible to counter, nothing is working. If the killer is decent it's a 4k all the time without even using mindgame.

The only counter is gen rush which is not really the way i like to play the game.

I was gonna say they can be countered but you got it.

Nice to see/know someone that doesn't enjoy a five minute gen rushed game.

So there's been a lot of hardship for survivors when it comes to getting into a match. A lot of people want to blame crossplay and it has certainly added to the wait for sure. Nothing worse then waiting forever for a match. Then you have those days where you wait forever, the match finally loads, then as you wait on that load screen it takes an abnormally long time which usually means someone disconnected. As a player of both I've had days where I want to play survivor and instead do killer cause I know I'll actually get some matches in lol

So heres my idea! Why not make a survivor queue list~ Just have a option to view 10 random survivor queues that have two or more people that you are able to join. Much of the time these long waits happen because of SWF. However I feel SWF are great, get to try and survive with your friends and get some real good challenge for your killer skills. All good stuff. I think nothing needs to be done about SWF, yeah when they get cocky about it that's a bit annoying but nothing can be done about that and sometimes that leads to them dying by getting too confident.

So just make a list of incomplete queues where survivors have the ability to select a match and join in. Don't display any characters being used, ranks, or levels so that people won't base their decisions around this, maybe just show connection strength or something of the players. I think this would be a fine solution to the sometimes terrible queue time for survivors. I'd say Killer could have the same thing but let's be real, killer queues are considered long if it takes a whole minute to join a match lol Any thoughts or additions for this idea? Maybe you have a completely different idea that isn't based around getting rid of SWF or crossplay?

I've tried to get people to listen to the idea of having a casual mode and Competitive one.

I know not everyone will stay where they should, troll try hards will go into casual and be rude as they already do anyway.

But I feel like that can sort itself out especially if the devs bother to give more consistent and rapid bans for those that deserve it.

The toxicity and "bullying" problem would just get worse tenfold with a casual mode. Also the devs probably don't want to split the playerbase. There's already problems with queue times at peak hours in certain areas.

I just said in my post how there will be people that don't stay on their side of competitive or casual modes because there are trolls.

But THAT could eventually work itself out, since this is just made to be competitive the people like me wanting to just give a good scare or survivors that just want normal scary games like they advertise.

I didn't come here expecting to try so hard almost every game, I came to have a fun time. But with them giving the mindset that this is Competitive makes it to where anyone that's a fun player won't want to play - especially if their first game is complete and utter garbage.

You're acting like this only applys to killers. When I first started as a survivor way back when I was going against deranking meta build Hags and Hillbillys. Know what I did? Learned to play.

When did I ever try to mention a survivors side?

I'm a killer main but can't play survivor. I can admit I'm literally too jumpy to play that role in this game so anything of mine you see is going to be 90% killer oriented.

And just saying " learn to play " isn't really a good thing to say back. They're trying to learn - killer AND survivors.

But they can't because plenty of people are already smurfing and starting up SWF at low ranks/rates.

  • @gibblywibblywoo said:

Nice evidence. Btw people have been saying this game is "hemmoraging killers" since I started. Game still hits new all time player peaks every few chapters.

And a few days after dealing with super sweats that have played since the beginning they will leave - especially if people have false ranks and make them seem new to the game - end game can be so annoying even for console players.

We still get end game messages when we don't give survivors what they want all the time.

I've been here for 4 years now, I have no plans on leaving. These new killers that are leaving are just unwilling to learn to play better. They want their wins handed to them. They wouldn't last 5 minutes in 2017 DBD. If they're actually leaving out of "frustration" when killers have better perks, less pallets, and shorter loops than they ever had than DBD just isn't for them

There are still imbalances in this game, mainly perks and map design, but if thats enough to make you actually quit the game... sorry, but this game isn't for you. The devs ARE making strides to make non-viable killers stronger. Look at Leatherface, spirit and freddy. all killers that sucked when first added. But its a understandably slow process.

People were literally crying and screaming about leaving when the devs announced a BL TEST. A TEST that they specifically said was for 1 weekend to gather data. Too many killers regurgitate this toxic "killers are victims" mentality that is propgated by certain content creators that I cannot name.

You literally refused to even play the game when BL was disabled showing you don't even want to try to contribute to the devs attempts at making this game more consistent. Dont @ me

Good for you sport, but it's not all about the people that have been here since the beginning and know how much it's really changed.

They need to start thinking about the new players too - once again I'd like to consider modes; Casual and Competitive.

No not everyone will stay on their side because people are trolls but it'll still do so much.

Not everyone playing, survivors or killers; want to play competitively. I've played only 2400 hours or something before I said screw it and went to play Destiny 2 because I just can't have fun in this game hardly anymore; and I'm sure plenty of others agree.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

You know what a "no DS"-weekend would do? Killers would tunnel the ######### out of Survivors, meaning that it is quite clear that a Perk like that is needed.

We can also do a "Anti Slowdown"-Perk Weekend just to see who gets carried by slamming on 3-4 Slowdown Perks because pressuring Gens without is too difficult? :^)

But on a more serious note, I am always for reasonable tests like the Bloodlust removal. It is an outdated mechanic.

And you know what this no bloodlust did?

Made a lot of killer players quit because it actually DOES help against higher ranks.

2400+ hours in and have been to red rank before "ranking got fixed/removed" - I'd like to think that you saying this shows you aren't thinking of what killer players are going through - but you want them to give a crap about you and your game.

Really uncool, and that's why I'm on break and talking on the forums.

  • @EqMonkVeeshan said:

how about they do a no perk weekend.

Hello How is everyone? I took a small break from the game, one week and had 3 matches in a row with the following setting: 3 flashlights and 1 key, Now, before someone tells me "look to a wall" or anything like that, I did 3K in two of the three and 4k in the other. Now you're going to say "bruh, why are you complaining then?" and I am not complaining. As nurse I couldn't care less what they bring into the match or if they t-bag, spam their flashlights or anything but... they indeed tried to bully me. Now, as some people know and this is not about me, I had troubles with someone trying to kill me in the past, those days I was having a very hard time dealing with anythiing. Why I am telling you this? Because I think you need to acknowledge that the killer is a human being, a human being that could, I don't know, try to forget their lives for a second, a human being that could be literaly have the worst day in his/her life., a human being that perhaps have some problems to move their hands due to a bad formation in their body. I am not saying let him/her win but. Be nice? It cost you nothing. And if I recall correctly there was an user on here that also has seizures so it's a medical condition as well.

This is not a post "complaining" since as I have said, I don't care what YOU do to me, but I have been taught to treat others the way I want to be treated so, be nice. If you don't want someone bullying you, then don't bully him/her. At the end of the day we are all normal human beings trying to chill and have fun.

In summary. T-bag or anything is not toxic, you as a human are toxic. So. Why not trying to have fun in the normal way? Or do you really feel that bad about yourself that feel the need of making fun of other person worse than you to make yourself feel better? And no, don't tell me "play overwatch and [insert name here] and you will see that smurf is normal", xenophobia in my country is normal. Should be tolerated? No.

Have a good weekend and I hope you enjoy it.

This might give me a bit of hope to come back and play.

I've kinda thought this ever since I hit high ranks and dealt with sweat after troll.

The killer is a person just like you - if you want respect or to have fun.... Well show it!

Even through all the horrid games I've had I try to make it funny in the end for everyone.

Except that SWF where everyone had OoO and my sorry A.D.D. butt can't handle it along with extensive trolling - they can get T-Bagged by Ghost Face & Rancor'd.

The only time I don't regret stooping to their level, and I have mixed feelings about it.

I shouldn’t be having to wait 5-7min to get a survivor match at 11am. Matches flow like Willy Wonka’s chocolate river around this time. They’re instantaneous up until around 4-5pm. Switching over to killer and I’m getting lobby’d-up immediately. This is all highly irregular and only noticeable this “Testing” weekend. It begs the question, “Coincidence?”

    Seems doubtful that it is.

Killer mains (or frequent killer players) aren’t beating the system by sitting the majority of this weekend out of their everyday killing duties by switching over to survivor.

Devs aren’t feeble and stupid like many are making them out to be.

They collect excessive amount of data, even in mass forms we aren’t aware of.

The info they receive on a regular basis will show the influx of survivors and drought in killers this weekend, amongst other irregularities, to help form proofs for their “test.”

If anything, the players intentionally opting out, or flooding a side they rarely play with all the time they would have put into playing killer are potentially shooting themselves in the foot if they were hoping for a victory in their “Preserve Bloodlust at all Costs” cause, should this really be happening.

Needless to say, it’ll be interesting to see how this all plays out.

It's like that because killers get bullied on a day to day basis.

There's never a entire day where I've had fun and not dealt with super rude trolls.

Yeah it happens in survivor as well but it just happens WAY too often as killer.

You have fun and people belittle you and call you bad at the game - but for killer it's harder simply because they can kill and survivors can't. ( They will with the next killer though lol. )

How is it going through life miserable posting rants no one cares about except to read and say wow people whine about this ? Me and people we play and have fun. We win it's fun we lose it's fun some people on this game and forum are insufferable. I'm really pleased with how much love the devs give this game and the fans. These rants are pointless and just make the ranter look petty , pedantic , and toxic. We don't need more of this in 2020. Play the game have fun. If you don't. Go play what you love and let others enjoy without having to hold the hands of those who can't cope with others enjoying something you're not lol. Wow these forums I've never seen a game with so many babies lol

You say have fun and I just laugh.

I try to have fun and you know what's there even in a low rank from purposefully staying away from the game? Trolls and try hards.

So don't say " Have fun or go play something else. " When there's no fun to be had anymore.

As a killer with only 2000+ hours I'd like to say you're full of it - or you're just trolling in a big post. I shouldn't have to struggle in a game to have "fun" but yet here we are.

People TALKING about this isn't saying they're a baby - it's saying " I tried your way, and I'm sick of it. "

If you really think stuff like this is pointless it just means you aren't here to have fun, you're here to win. That's what these kinds of posts are about but I guess others that have a better time playing and literally never thinking of the other side other than " I have to get away. "

If you want fun it shouldn't be that, you'd be wanting to act out and be silly - but you want a win or loss.

I don't want either, I just want EVERYONE in the game to have a good time - but trolls galore says otherwise.

  • They take it away just because the survivors say killers don't need it and I quit.

Bloodlust DOES help in certain situations - most for me because I deal with five minute games almost everyday I try to play.

This game is already getting more survivor sided.

Hell, even the new killer is survivor sided - I don't see it getting use at all.

Just for fun - and not enough people playing this game want to have fun, they want to sweat and win.

  • And now when the devs see this video they will keep bloodlust off.

Like most of the comments - this wasn't a great example.

Though I feel if you'd actually never bothered to Shred that the Steve might've gotten hit and a pallet used.

But then again he may be a feckin' God.

  • Pfft--

Funny, but not helpful to the conversation - just saying no says a lot about a person as well. :s

  • @greekfire774 said:

@xenotimebong I hate to tell you but, that's not how competitive balancing works. You have to balance at the top tier of play and then the lower tiers have a really high ceiling to improve on and reach over time. Every single competitive game balances around their most skilled players and by default it balances the game for the new players and anybody in between. It also helps seperate the different skill gaps better. As much as I hate being that guy, they should take no consideration of new player experience when balancing. If they do it right, the new player experience will be fine from any high tier balance changes they make.

Then I'll be waiting for the game to die down with it not going to have as many people staying to play the game and buy the items so they can further their game.

After a while of many new players not wanting to play because they might not have a buddy that's played since the start - and literally has no clue what to do besides what the tutorial shows. ( Which is mediocre at best. )

I came into the game maybe a year after it had been out - maybe more - don't bother to remember really. I just know that Stranger Things got me interested and then I fell in love with the rest after.

But 2400+ hours in.. I don't really know what to actually tell you; I can't give high input - just what I feel.

  • @Maperson said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1760370#Comment_1760370

They should balance around high ranks, low ranks don't know how to play well, they don't know how to mind game, use loops, good perks etc etc..

And then you'll never get new players to help fuel the game - because it's too much for brand new players.

    Again.

This is why there needs to be two modes - Competitive for people like you and Causal for people like me.

I used to be red rank killer and took such a long break that they deranked me to rank 18 and I still get try hards when I really just want everyone to have a fun game and not a sweaty one.

  • I don't see why--

Killers already have little to nothing; now you want to take something important away as a "test"?

It's just ridiculous, it sounds like they're running out of ideas to me.

  • @megswifey said:

.... shouldn't matter! I have seen so many posts about 'toxic' players and such, but I really think it's okay to play your way. I personally dislike being camped, tunneled, gen rushed, and flashlight spammed, but at the end of the day it's just a video game. You are 10000000% allowed to dislike something, I just think it's wrong to call people toxic or bully them. Debating is always great since some people are able to come to an agreement or even switch positions, but saying stuff like 'stop being so soft' or 'that's a toxic thing to do' isn't fair. As long as you are respectful and play well, I'll be happy. Yeah, I can depip and not have fun, but it beats arguing with someone over virtual murder lol! I guess what I want this post to be about is being kind and enjoying dbd for what it is: A game! You can urban evade if it works for you as long as you're being a good teammate, you can use DS, you can pack a mori, and, most of all, you can play your way!! I love playing competitively, but I think that competition and rage are very different from one another-- You won't always win, and being angry won't change that. I have gotten upset over matches, but all you can do is move on and hope for the best. So, get out there and have fun :)!!

Also, I don't mean for this post to be 'humble af' or anything of that nature, I genuinely love this game and the community, I have just seen a lot of 'so and so is toxic!' or 'this perk is bad and u suck!' kind of stuff, which I just find to be counterproductive, haha!

    Pft. Sorry but no.

As a killer player that has over 2400 hours in this game - it does matter.

But not really play style as much as your attitude.

But the attitude contributes to the play style, if you're a troll that loves to make others days horrible - you gen rush, bully, etc. then that's not wanted at all by anyone.

No one wants to be bullied anywhere - ESPECIALLY a video game where we try to have fun. But yet I deal with that almost every game now, even though I'm rank 18.

Other than that yeah, play style shouldn't matter - but your positivity/kindness should. Even if it's a game about killers vs survivors - YOU'RE the one playing and making the others feel that way.

So even through most bullied moments I plow through with kindness and try my best to make them know I'm not a bad guy - that I want to have fun. Not rage.

  • @Aneurysm said:

I know these issues are pretty much known to everyone but since starting to play on steam as well as ps4 you get a much better idea of what they're supposed to endure. Apart from a few matches where I've been matched with noobs I'm going against red and purple survivors with 1000s of hours, and full perk sets -which is fine with me, obviously a bit more engaging than killing beginners although ideally I'd have something a bit more to throw back at them apart from tier 1 spies and tier 1 bloodhound-

but how many new players drawn to the killer role are going to stick around if they're just going to be a punching bag match after match? I get that matchmaking is probably always going to be terrible, possibly even with MMR. But give new players something. A more advanced tutorial, a training area (everyone wants one and if you could try out new killers and perks there you'd probably increase sales), a warning or BP boost when their lobby is full of reds, a way to unlock some free perks from the shrine, idk but you should give them something.

    Not all heros wear capes.

Never get to see a post like this anymore where the killer is actually cared about.

It hurts game after game to have sweaty try hards that treat you like garbage but want you to make their game fun.

Talk about entitled. That's what I deal with everyday - even after coming from a long break and going to rank 18 - try hards and trolls galore.

Hopefully they can bother to do something for killer players instead of replacing them with AI.

  • @Pennywise said:

The quality of the rifts have got progressively worse, now I'm not even trying to complete the challenges. The effort isn't worth the pay off.

    I can kinda agree.

This recent one I only want the Legion skin which is ironically on the free track so I'm not buying it this time.

That and the epic amount of troll survivors in low ranks now makes me not want to play anymore. :<

  • It's for support mainly.

In almost every game I play I get some kind of cosmetic because it'll A: make the game more fun in ways & B: it's supporting the company.

It's always funny to see kids/adults complain on Fortnite skins but they keep playing the game and love it; just stop complaining and either buy stuff if you like the company or don't if you don't. Pretty simple really.

  • @troy99 said:

I don't want to sound like seeking attention. I'm aiming to tell my reasoning with this little rant so if you wanna give some time to it, maybe you can relate to some of my problems with the game.

First off, I started playing since March 2020. I saw Bill's trailer on YouTube and I love L4D2. I also bought Dying Light for the same reason, the idea of a crossover game with many franchises sounded super cool. First times I was scared, it felt like a legit horror game. I also tried killer once but at my first game I faced with absolutely toxic survivors. I was playing huntress in haddonfield, one match that i could never forget. Eventually I learned few things and it started to not feel scary anymore. it felt like a frustrating competitive game. But is it even a competitive game when RNG is over the top? Just because of the high rng i think the skill matters to only some extent.

    • Latency is very frustrating. My hatches won't hit, my dead hard's won't work and i get exhausted on ground. i can't have fun with a badly programmed game. Now I don't know whether if i should blame dedicated servers or the community for asking for dedicated servers for this, but it is my biggest problem with this game.
    • They fix ONE bug, which brings at least FOUR more bugs. Sometimes I just think they're making up bugs just to tell they're bugfixing all the time. One thing I liked was Spirit's sounds during phase. I considered that as a shadow nerf but they fixed it. Can't even have good things accidentally.
    • Very few content. I can't explain how many times i went back to survivor tutorial just to get my running vault work properly. This game needs a practice mode where you can set scenarios, practice with the situations, and map exploring (especially for The Game). My friends do not play this game so I can't use Custom Game. I'm only limited with ranked matches and i keep going against red rank swfs when i'm just a green rank killer.
    • Complaining about toxicity doesn't but it's still a problem for me. Being an *sshole and mocking the opponent is something i don't comprehend. (t-bags, hook smacks, facecamping (which is a ######### strategy IMO), etc.) it's not f*cking funny c'mon.
    • Meta never changes. I really don't like second chance perks even if they're powerful. Map awareness and detection was always more important to me since I'm a solo Q, but the odds of using underrated perks are so low. IMO the meta BT, DS, DH and Adrenaline/Unbreakable is very clutch and boring. OoO is broken in certain maps. (Can't we ever have a MoM buff?)

I think this game has a great potential but currently it's in wrong hands. I'm not sure if it will be better with different coders but I really can't enjoy this game anymore. If you could relate to some of my problems then I'm happy. Thank you for reading my topic and i wish you good games.

I say this with plenty of PvP games and this is why I don't play them as much as PvE - the game can be great but the people can just stink. That includes you devs, no one's special enough to leave out.

I play from time to time now but definitely not as often - I play a lot of Destiny 2 now and it's just more fun simply because with the PvE part.. it's not about stressing out while trying to have fun.

But plenty of killers and survivors in this game just care about their experience and never think of the other party - especially survivors towards killers. It's like they treat them like real killers and it's just ridiculous.

So yeah, no one can blame you; but I've been playing a bit longer and I'm still kinda interested - I guess while I took a break it got worse.

    Go figure.

  • @ALostPuppy said:

Just get hit through pallets. Although even when I try to do that they take a solid 5 seconds to realise that I'm not dropping it and holy ######### just hit me through the pallet why are you so scared of being stunned stop worshiping these pallets

I never respect pallets as killer, but I know they do it simply because it CAN save time - though it doesn't always do that.

I don't know why no one's talking about how gen speed should correlate to how many survivors are alive. If all 4 are alive gens should go fairly slow but when only one is alive the gen speed should go just as fast as if 4 people were on it to compensate for the dead teammates. It would definitely help with solo queue. This is also coming from a killer main who thinks solo queue is extremely easy and people overexagerate how hard it is.

This would make start game gen rushing not happen so fast and end game go a little faster as they will have a chance to repair gens and open exit gates instead of playing hide and seek until the killer or survivor finds the hatch.

    You're a genius..

I mean this seriously by the way, this idea would really be helpful.

Hey there guys! Some weeks ago, I posted asking for advice on getting out of the limbo I was stuck in (Rank 12-10), and I've finally managed to move forward, now jumping in between ranks 8 and 7 :) I'm very grateful for all your advice as it has really helped me improve.

That said, it's becoming more and more common to be paired against Rank 3-1 survivors, and even though now I usually get "Brutal Killer" at minimum, I still find it hard to progress and do better, mostly because I still haven't settled on learning a killer good before moving forward. I felt comfortable with Legion, but I really struggle using him against higher ranked players because Deep Wounds isn't a menace at all and besides stabbing someone to see who else is on the map is about the only thing I can do with him.

I decided to go for some of the stronger "meta" killers, but I have problems with every single one of them:

-Hag: As I've gone up in ranks, keeping up with survivors working hard on multiple gens has made playing her harder, my traps trigger all around the map, usually on different edges, and I can't chase good enough.

-Billy: Chasing while using the chainsaw dash has always been impossible for me.

-Oni: Same as Billy, I can't seem to make any use of its power; dashing makes me lose sight of whomever I'm chasing, and I can't for the love of God hit anyone with the club lounge.

-Nightmare: I've found much more success using him than Hag, but the use of his snares is tricky at best, and I still feel survivors just aren't afraid of falling asleep, and it's the same thing: survivors just spread around the map doing gens very quick, my teleport will let me keep tabs on two at best, but even then that's not enough. The only games I manage to win with him are where my NOED wasn't cleansed, just to be called slurs on chat, more often than I'd like to.

-Nurse: If I can't hit people with Billy and Oni, you bet I can't do anything with Nurse.

-Huntress: I have terrible aim. I can't do anything in PvP shooters, let alone here that hitboxes are so wonky.

-Executioner: Out of those I'd say this is the killer I understand the least...

So, I know I'll have to stick to one of the stronger killers if I want to become better, but I'm sure my dumb self must be overthinking (or overlooking) something about them and at least one of them might be easier to use and understand than the rest. I'd like some advice again :( Thanks for your help guys, and have a beautiful day!

I say keep trying with Freddy because he is the easiest to learn/play. I recommend ( if you have them ) Tinkerer and Trail of Torment.

I get a lot of gameplay from those two with him, and also Billy; don't chase with the chainsaw. Just use it to get back and forth until you find someone and then start practicing to use it up close and personal.

Trust me, Billy can be A LOT of fun.

    Survivor - 2

    Killer - 9

Simply because I don't really play survivor anymore and when I do....

I'm one of those people that just can't help but get scared really easily - so I'm just a burden as survivor. :<

Killer I can do very well, most of the time I'm actually just a good sport and happy with getting Brutal most of my games.

  • @brokedownpalace said:

Almost every single time I watch the last survivor in the game and the killer does this, they either A) pull them off the gate, B) down them right before it opens or C) down them right after it opens. The killer then hooks or moris the survivor. Sometimes they go so far as to let them crawl until just before they can escape before hooking or killing them.

Yes there are occasions when the killer is genuinely being friendly but they're so rare that I gave up long ago. I don't struggle, recover, try to open the gate, or move. I'm not giving anyone the satisfaction of pulling one over on me and the potential reward is 5k bloodpoints.. I'll pass.

If they drop me ON TOP OF the hatch of course I'll take it. No way I'm crawling to it though 😅

Keep your blood points, Entity, you're not getting an ounce of hope from me!

Same here except I'm a killer player and get BS survivors that know way too much in every game; even after I got deranked from red back to 16 in hopes I could get into a somewhat normal game.

Because of the garbage people that play survivor in the meanest way possible I can't play killer, same for you except it is killers.

I just don't see anything coming to the game to make it fun again.

Unless they actually LISTEN and think about Casual and Competitive game modes.

Looping isn't toxic, nor Is emoting. Tbagging is part of any game. Dbd community has misused that word so much that it has no real meaning now.

You're the second person I've seen with a blocked picture so... I don't think I'm going to care about this too hard.

No, you can't tell. You only know if it's a dull or a hex, but you don't know what hex it is.

Thank you for being helpful. It's nice to see.

You do realize the devs are coming up with an early game slowdown,

    Right?

You do realize they do look at the forums? That's why they exist. They need feedback and this is the best way to get it. If you don't like forum posts like this then don't comment on them.

    Your name is Toxic Myers.

Ngl this sounds like a you problem. If your games are lasting 5 minutes due to 'genrush' consistently, then you are doing something very, very wrong.

    No, not really.

I have plenty of long games with high ranks/players that know what they are actually doing as survivor.

Then I get a metric butt-ton of games of just really rude Hide 'N Seek gen rushers.

Usually it's that they never do them and hide; now everyone is using Dead Silence and Urban Evasion all over again.

Yeah it sounds like a me problem but guess what - it's happening to plenty of others right now. So remember that there are a lot of people with the same bull.

Nice strawman dude. I am not talking about survivor perks or add-ons here. I agree that some survivor add-ons could use a rework. I actually think BNP is fine unless it is a 4 man team who ALL have BNP on their toolbox.

Either way, take your argument onto a thread that it relates to. I'm a killer main, I'm not some butthurt survivor main crying about ######### I know nothing about.

I've played both sides and it is my opinion that iri head or the add-ons that typically get run with it DO need tweaking or something.

I just don't see the point in messing further with killers in any way when it's clear how little there are of killer players anymore.

To the people that ONLY play killer, this just takes away a lot of fun games.

And I can use Iri Head without being a jerk. But the problems in this game imo are in the community and not the game itself.

If I thought the game was great, I'll either sacrifice myself or get their attention to leave a high value item with them, as a sign of thanks. I had a swf team that had ormond, I'm a rank 18 killer and played as plague, and they were amazing at evading and running away, so I just let them have the win. They would not leave. They waited until the timer was almost 1/4 away from egc and I was standing in the far corner waiting. I was bitter, but that was mostly due to the fact that I am a high rank and I suck lol! So, in short, waiting at the gates just to tbag is not very polite, but if you want them to see you to give away items or just let them know you're playful, do 1-2 speed vaults and if they don't come, just leave them be. We are all here to have fun, but I'm sure they have had bad experiences by the gates. Kindness goes a long way <3!!

It's nice to think about the fact there are good survivor players that truly want to just have a good game and do that - but it doesn't happen enough sadly. The world is turning into a selfish cesspool.

  • @piggypablo said:

Maybe 1 out of the 10 most recent games I've played, has the killer approached the exit gate. Even then, it was only with like 15 seconds left on the timer.

Because we know over half of you want to be rude.

Sorry to those few that are actually good sports and let the killer get a hit in - plenty act like they will and then just run out like their ACTUAL life depended on it.

Literally, it is the majority of this games survivors are just garbage trolls that care nothing for the other player - the mentality is probably " They're a 'killer'; why should we care?" But yeah... You want the killer to care about your game.

I took a break and came back to being a low rank - I'm seriously just helping people learn to play and not being a man child.

It'd be nice if everyone else could act their ages - this game IS rated M guys and gals.

I've only had ONE killer be nice during this event. A Spirit wanting to get her gen challenge done.

I've wasted so many petals and Y4 cakes... not wasting any more.

If only we could end up in the same games together instead.

I'm that kinda killer player, but I get bullied for stuff like that in most of my games so I'm taking a break. Maybe wait until the Hallowed event is over.

It's hard to find anyone fun anymore on this game.

  • @SweetTerror said:

One of the things that I've been saying for a while now is that DBD on mobile has a far better setup than the main game itself has. They've been using bots for awhile now, and it's through those bots that they've been able to implement a practice mode.

Otz was bewildered that BHVR hasn't been heavily promoting a feature like this, because he acknowledged that this is something that should exist in the main game as a lot of people are too scared to tackle killer. A lot of gamers don't want to compete while they practice, and a training mode is the perfect solution for that. He also acknowledged that the only way to get better is to compete against actual people, but at least you can get your bearings straight with a practice mode.

    https://youtu.be/MQupNMTGNto

That or we simply get two modes.

    Causal and Competitive.

Just give the people that play Competitive really good stuff and they'll want to play instead of being rude trolls that go play causal and sweat.

  • @TheeclumsyNinja said:

EVERY F*****G KILLER IS JUST TUNNELING, CAMPING, AND SLUGGING BY THE HOOK CAUSE THEY DONT CARE CAUSE THEY GET A SH!T TON ON BP ANYWAY... only thing keeping me playing is double bp.

Im sick of the “just do gens” crap, ITS NOT FUN GAMEPLAY FOR ANYONE.

I dont play killer anymore cause its dumb af at high ranks and survivor i only play cause of friends... we didnt need graphical updates, or minor changes to useless perks making them still useless.... make the game play good, change the meta, add somethings to the game to add some variety to the game play for survivor cause its the same boring gameplay once you get good at looping and time management.

As a killer player that tries his hardest to play fairly, I deal with survivors of the same survivors all the time.

So really it's just either take a break/quit or ignore the bad have games.

I personally took some time off; now I'm like rank 17 when I used to be 1 at some point so now I get noobs and one good player.

Think you guys did a pretty good job so far? I don't; I hope it can get better sometime. I love this game but people can ruin it so easily.

Just make Competitive and Causal modes already why don't'cha? I mean it'd be great for literally everyone.

  • @JordanMalicious said:

Iri head is fine as is, even though it takes no skill to literally run up on a survivor until you're literally touching them and 1 hit down them with iri head. It does take skill to hit a long shot, regardless of what add-ons are being used.

However, infantry belt gives a total of 3 iri heads (I'm sure everyone knows this) which makes it absolutely busted and dog crap to run against.

Bhvr, please just consider making iri heads 1 hatchet limit a trump to everything else so it cannot go above 1 hatchet even if they wanted to run infantry belt.

I'm sure I'll get flamed in the comments by some people, but this is how I feel. I see a lot of frustration with this add-on pairing with infantry belt, I'm voicing my frustrations after giving myself time to reflect on my own gameplay. I feel like it needs to be looked at and have something done to it. A range instant down is annoying as is, 3 attempts at a ranged instant down is a bit busted. Pair that with most huntress players I run into just waiting until they are right behind you and the beach ball sized hit boxes of the hatchets, and it just, it's hot garbage.

    Lol no.

Killers get to keep their OP stuff as long as BNP exist.

Survivors can gen rush without them but WITH them makes an annoying give minute game.

So don't ask for killers to get nerfed in ANY way until the gen speeds are fixed. Though it won't surprise me if the devs do it anyway.

They don't care about their killers that actually want to just have good fun games.

  • @DBD78 said:

There are four times as many survivors as killers. They have to make the game survivor sided or they would lose players and money.

And that's why they're thinking about putting killer bots on all the platforms.

It's just sad that people that want to genuinely have fun and make sure that the survivors have a good time too are going to quit because there is just TOO MUCH sweat nowadays.

That's why I think they at least need to simply make it into two modes - Causal and Competitive.

And give the people that play Competitive REALLY good cosmetics, BP, Shards even - stuff that MAKES the try hards want to play the mode.

But again, never gonna happen; and I'm too much of a jumpscare coward to play survivor so I guess I'm done with this game for the most part - might come back to play a little - definitely want the new Legion skin in the Rift; at least it's on the free track. I honestly really dislike this Rift. Not many good things imo.

  • I don't really think about you not bringing a certain perk.

I just don't want that one team where there's the guy/girl being rude with OoO and when you ignore them only to have their team mates hiding so hard I want to cry.

I never get a proper game anymore - I used to be a red rank Xbox killer and ever since crossplay I've been trolled non-stop.

I don't like survivor mentality of " killers have no feelings" so they make really boring hide and do gens games.

I had to take a break, now I'm rank 17 and I'll feel really bad for those few games with newbies - not my fault though.

  • @BenOfMilam said:

I just came out of a game as killer where the survivors hid the entire match and never did a single gen, so obviously they all got sacrificed. However, to get the win, I had to play a game that was very boring and over an hour long with only a "brutal killer" ranking to show for it. If I wanted to leave the match and move on, I would have been given a DC penalty. How cruel. (although, without DC penalties, matches have a problem of being ruined every other game)

This is far from the only time this has happened to me, and it happens as survivor too. The killer first kills two or three people. Then, repeatedly downs the last survivor(s) and picks them up and drops them until they are no longer downed, then downs them again. This is so the three minute bleed-out time lasts much, MUCH longer than three minutes.

Matches in DbD are usually 10 to 15 minutes, with the rare lengthy match being about 20 minutes. Endgame Collapse was an amazing step in the right direction (and is what got me back into DbD after a multi-year hiatus due to matches being 2+ hours without it), but we need a timer before then to prevent matches from being 30 minutes long.

My suggestion is that after the 30 minutes are up, the match simply ends, and no players in the match get bloodpoints and everyone de-pips and is given a matchmaking penalty. There is no way to tell who is doing the hostage taking, so scorched earth makes sense (even though I am fully aware it is HIGHLY abusable). In addition, players should be banned for repeatedly drawing matches out to 30 minutes and can be unbanned via manual review. This way, if people that are often targeted by harassment, like Twitch streamers, are repeatedly held hostage, they can appeal to BHVR and get unbanned.

Although, a less foolish option would to remove any and all DC penalties after a certain length of time passes. For example, in addition to the match ending at 30 minutes, you can DC at 20 minutes and keep bloodpoints and items you earned that match. Again, highly abusable, but better than the nothing we have right now. I just want to play the game, not run in circles for literal hours waiting for the 4 Claudettes to do a single gen.

    At least you get brutal.

I get people that do their gens but also do their absolute best to never interact with me.

Crap like this is why I would quit, I'm sick of getting trolled every other game.

  • @MadLordJack said:

Uh... So you want to discuss your own extremely sweaty build? Or are we gonna ignore that and jump on the anti-SWF bandwagon?

It's okay to bring strong stuff on both sides. I see no problem with anything in this screenshot, except maybe the exceptionally high gamma. I'm not attempting to justify behaviour but we only have your word for it.

But that's the reason he has the build in the first place is because almost every game for someone that's played a lot of hours on killer especially will get almost nothing but sweats that are complete trolls or boring people that literally only hide and do gens; they don't want to interact with me they just want an easy win.

Just to hope for a normal or fun game as killer - and I wouldn't doubt survivor at times too - we have to bring sweaty builds; but killers get bullied.

Survivors literally just get killed/griefed - only really trolled by Ghostface if any.

I'm not anti-SWF but I would like a competitive lobby and a quick play/causal lobby so every one can go do what they want.

But the devs just drink our sweat to sustain themselves - so I'm done for a while. Have fun - I'm gonna go grind Destiny 2.

Just had a couple of games that very much ended like this:

Due to match making I (rank 17/16) got a few high ranks (upper purple and red) as Deathslinger. I'm in no way good, but in all these matches I got several hooks in and at least one of the high ranks kicked the bucket.

And each time due to one very odd thing:

Their unwillingness to change their tactics.

Now, we all already knew that's the issue, but today I had the most bizarre experience:

Red ranked Kate, I chase after her (one of the wrecker maps, the one with the small house), she tries to loop me. I'm not having it. I know what I can pull off and what not.

So I turn away. Usually survivors go on their merry way then... but the kate came after me. Very much demanding I chase her.

Again, I wasn't having it. I knocked down a jake, hooked him, and the kate stood there not helping (another jake got him off the hook)

Long story short, I hit her when she came close, shot and hooked her. She suicided on hook after I walked away (dunno if she tried to unhook herself or not).

It really seemed as if she was offended cause I didn't let her loop me.

And judging by the forum and twitter, the playstyle like that kate's is what people deem 'fun'. Why?

Well as a killer player with a LOT of hours in this game and taking a break - it truly is fun to loop as certain killers and for the other side as well.

But when people go to "god loops" or anything of the sort yeah, I'll go away too.

That person's definition of fun was to troll with a loop - and that's one of the reasons I'm on break.

That and just as survivors want a fair killer, I want fair survivors that don't only hide and do generators - I want SOME interaction; that's the point of the game for EVERYONE involved.

But ever since crossplay as a console player - I've gotten too many troll games; I used to be red rank and now I'm back to brown simply because I'm not a total try hard. I just play, normally.

  • It's just not gonna happen. I want it to, but it's not.

You'd think majority of people that are toxic and want to ruin people's fun are the killers - plenty are but after playing killer for so long and fairly at that - it's sadly survivors that are much more toxic.

A killer can just Mori and camp places, a survivor can endlessly loop - tbag - point and wave - they know what they can do and they will do it and not care for your feelings at all because you're "a killer" and apparently killers have no feelings.

I can admit there are PLENTY of actually good teams that can beat me and not be toxic - but most people that know they can beat you in ANY way will take advantage and be rude to you.

Until this game is fun, I'm only going to randomly play when new cosmetics come out. No matter what I'll love my boy Ghostface.

  • @sluc16 said:

Seriously, the main thing killers need to get good at is tracking survivors, the doctor completely eliminates that need. Plus of course he can block you from vaulting, dropping pallets and using items. Waw so much skill needed

Yeah, but there's tracking.. Then there's hide and seek - which I'm not a fan of.

In my opinion Doctor exists to deal with the cowardly/unfun survivors that ONLY want gens done and don't want to be in chases at all.

That's why I'm done until they let me opt out of crossplay - for some reason they locked it and ever since then I've got gen rush after gen rush - never a fun game of Cat and Mouse anymore.

Hell in this game it's literally Tom and Jerry. Killers Tom, Jerry Survivor; half the time he can't get the smart little mouse - but at least Jerry puts up a fight.

  • @ASurvkillivorer said:

Does the hatch close on its own or will it remain open until the end of the match or the killer kicks it?

It goes on its own after a while.

In my opinion only the person with the key should be able to leave - hatch should close when that person uses their key/dives into the hatch.

I'm a killer main and I can even say to either remove Ebony Moris or do something with all of them to make them fair; I'm fair with them unless it's a really toxic SWF.

Then yer all dunn. But no really, make this game fun again so I can come back.

  • @Hoodied said:

I am seeing posts complaining about Undying/Ruin/Tinkerer, and I am gonna share you all the counter

(FUN FACT: if this is a meta build now, that means devs made Jeff's perk "Distortion" meta now as it hard counters Undying)

When a totem resets, Undying stays in the same position, so you want to find atleast 2 dull totems before cleansing any hex perks if this build is in use. Upon finding the 2 dulls, cleanse the hex you found (Make sure you activated Ruin first) and after cleansing, check the 2 dull totems you found and if one of the 2 dulls is lit, that means Undying is on the map somewhere so now you have to go and search for Undying, upon finding it cleanse undying and go back and cleanse Ruin, now both Undying and Ruin are out of play

    Summed Up Version

    1. Check a gen for Ruin
    2. Find 2 dull totems
    3. Find a hex and cleanse it
    4. Check the 2 dull totems to see if they are lit

4A. If one of them is lit, continue to step 5

4B. If none of them are lit, check a generator for ruin, if its still up look for both Ruin and Undying (As now know the location of 2 dulls and cleansed 1 hex, leaving 2 hexes remaining) and Cleanse both of the totems, after doing this check the two dulls to see if you cleansed Ruin first or not

5.Leave the new Ruin spawn alone and search for the Undying and cleanse it, then return back to ruin and cleanse that

(Explanation for the Fun Fact: Undying detects auras for 4/5/6 seconds when getting near a totem while Distortion hides your aura and scratch marks for 6/8/10 seconds, so if you find a totem your aura will be hidden from the killer, making Distortion become a mini smallgame, allowing easier cleansing and discovery of totems)

I only played killer - Can you actually tell what kind of totem you're breaking?

Because if so, that's just stupid and more of a reason to not come back to this game.

This got the Sea Of Thieves treatment where it's a great game but really crappy people can ruin the fun of it all.

  • @Madmanslime said:

Before I state my issue, let me clarify what I mean by "excessive survivor hiding". When I say "excessive survivor hiding", I do not mean survivors with stealthy playstyles. When I say this I'm referring to survivors which:

    1. Don't work on generators.
    2. Spend entire games hiding behind rocks and in lockers.
    3. Generally waste everyone's time.

Alright, with that out of the way, here's why its a problem, and how I would go about fixing it.

This is a problem because, as killer, I've played games which have lasted upwards of half an hour (simply because I couldn't find anyone). This is largely due to stagnant survivors hiding in lockers for minutes on end. Behavior HAS put measures in place to help prevent this from happening, but they nearly aren't effective enough to have an effect on this playstyle.

For example, one measure Behavior did put in place was to add stillness crows (for those who don't know, stillness crows are crows which fly around players camping in one position. These crows cause noise in a radius of increasing size as time passes, eventually plateauing at a maximum size*), However, these crows are largely ineffective because the killer has to be within close proximity to the player to hear them. This means that if a player is camping opposite all of the generators, the only way for the killer to even have a chance of finding them is by leaving their patrol route, potentially throwing the game.

An example of how I might go about fixing it is as follows:

Beginning a minute into the round (to prevent divine intervention from becoming OP), a 2 minute countdown timer starts (visible only to the survivors). This timer is paused anytime someone is working on a generator and only ticks down when all generators are abandoned. The completion of a generator will reset the timer. If the timer hits zero, the entity becomes enraged. While the entity is enraged, all survivors who aren't actively working on generators will have their auras revealed. The entities enragement doesn't end until another generator is repaired (resetting the timer to two minutes).

I think this would be a good change because not only does it curb survivor camping, but prevents killers from camping hooks as well (in order to run down the timer). While you could buff the survivor class to help compensate for this change, seeing as DBD is generally survivor sided, I don't think it would really be necessary.

My idea is likely flawed, but I wanted to give an idea of how one might go about fixing this issue in a more nuanced way as opposed to implementing a hard deadline, (ie. 15 minute timer, when it's up, you lose) which I've seen floating around in numerous killer forums. I wrote this more to get the conversation started, rather than to suggest a working fix. I understand that DBD has a high learning curve for new players, but I think the trade off of addressing this issue would be worth it.

*Unsure of what this is, but it's relatively small.

I love this idea; but I actually have problems with survivors ONLY doing generators and " professionally " hiding the entire game.

  • Until you give me an in game mechanic that helps with me getting five minute gen rushed almost every single game; I think DS is good where it is.

I literally have to hope for good people that want to actually play the entirety of this game instead of JUST generators.

And I rarely get them so...

I feel like this thread/forum thing is pointless. I'm not really seeing any fixes coming from here - just talking that Devs rarely acknowledge.

  • @darklinks said:

I don't know if it's just me, but, I just find Doctor really unfun to play against. Anytime I'm in a game with one, it's just the most boring or annoying games I play on DBD. Anyone else feel the same?

I kinda feel like most survivors hate doctor because they can't hide from him, which most do now a days.

As killer of any kind I get nothing but five minute gen rushed games unless I play Doctor or bring anything on another killer that gives me info; so I can finally find these babies hiding all game.

So real question for you; are you annoyed by how you can't hide and only do gens or are you just sick of him laughing at you?

He's probably laughing because he knows you can't hide.
