  • Because I started this discussion to see if more people are experiencing a lot of games where survivors either unhook in the killer's face, or the moment the killer turns around to leave, but hasn't even made 5 meters of distance, which then has the killers tunnel the unhooked; and no I'm not saying that that is a bad thing or shouldn't happen. I'm just wondering wth is going on with the survivors... But the conversation has taken a different direction and has become an us vs them thing

  • Ghostface = Ghosty

    Nemesis = Nemo

    Legion = Mending Simulator

    Plague = Vommy mommy

    Wraith = Rayray / Bing bong

    Wesker = hotty

    Myers = Klickle -> This ref is very niche lmao. Once had 5 games in a row against Michael's it felt like that episode of the Good Place, and Derek going Michael Michael, klickle, klickle ... so yeah he is klickle now lmao.

    Bubba = booba xD

    Demo = Demopup <3

    Huntress = HOP HAA

    He is constituted out of the remains of the people who once inhabited the Garden of Joy, some 8 peeps if I recall correctly, so a Tommy, Phillip, Greg and Karen might have all been part of the crowd.

    Didn't that turkey also murder Maurice? πŸ‘€

  • @ Mods Can this discussion be closed s.v.p.?

  • I was quite opposed to it at first, but it synergises greatly with DH, so I'm fine with it lol. But, before everyone raises their pitchforks to come at me, I only use that combo on Leon and Claire, because they're loud AF. Otherwise I don't really need to use it.

    Combining it with other exhaustion perks is a bit more difficult, like SB and Overcome. I reckon it'll also be fine to use with Lithe, Balanced Landing and Head-On, in those instances you're usually in mid-chase anyways so being 75% more silent doesn't always matter.

  • Depends on the chapter, its characters and perks!

  • This ^ to so many of the responds here....lmao, people are once again reading what they want to read instead of what's actually stated.

    public forum mate. You don't want people talking to you then don't post anything. Thats how forums work.

    It's also common knowledge and forum rule to respond to the topic of discussion :) MATE.

    Anyone else being disconnected when swapping load outs on killer in lobby?

    Yes, a lot! Whether you're switching characters in the lobby or changing your preset perks... :/

    I actually have noticed that, from the killer perspective- not sure why the sudden uptick in survivors deciding to get their teammates killed, it's kind of a problem.

    Granted, it's not too bad if the unhooker is still there to try and body block and take aggro, then it's more of a regular ballsy play instead of just a terrible decision.

    Exactly! Usually you see survs doing it a lot when they have Deli, but now it's just almost in every game...

  • @Meathammer said:

    I don't play by the survivor rule book.

    Who cares? That wasn't even my question.

  • @Archael said:

    I know its hard role to play, you have to deal not only with a killer, but 3 other guys who may not be as usefull as should... but

    I play mostly killers. Im quite mercifull (unless doing challange). Im trying to hook someone 2 times before start killing, and even this is rare, mostly i let survs escape after some intense game and chases. Sometimes i lost track of hook count and sacrifice someone unintentionally (I just realize that iri memento mori is best tool to track survs hook count... if i can do mori with it, it means that person is on its last hook... this information should be available to all killers.

    But sometimes survs are just bad... and its nothing wrong to be bad, its time to learn and play. I hooked everyone of them twice, and because i had challange i had to kill them all, better - this would lower their mmr and let them play with some worse killers. I let them finish 2 gens before first kill, and another one before rampage.

    A the end screen, when I said "gg", they said: "i hate you killer" and this made me sad :(

    It goes both ways. Sometimes I'll type in EGC sorry I'm doing a challenge otherwise would've given hatch or whatever.

    But you'll go against a lot of players that bring baggage from their previous game(s) into the next one, so regardless of what you say/do they will say x/y/z/ in chat. πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

  • They also have Hunk for Legion and Nemi. I'd love for them to add even more lol, like Ethan, or imagine having Lady Dimitrescu! Bela, Cassandra and Daniela could be her AI helpers or something

    Spies is so good. I've heard some people say it's bad and I'm like what? It's an amazing perk

    And makes it almost impossible to properly shake the killer if you are unaware of it.

    Try pairing it with Starstruck, it's absolutely golden!

    Survivor- I love doing Power Struggle or Head on builds. Unfortunately they both require more than one perk

    Killer- Mad Grit is fun but I also love Nemesis/Rancor combo

    Have you tried Mad Grit on Ghosty? xD

  • Survivor: Distortion, it's SUCH a good perk, especially after its rework. I love it so much and use it chronically now xD

    Killer: Snitch-crows! Forget about Whispers/I'm All Ears/Stridor, Spies from the Shadows works so well at every point in the game!

    Hello everyone! We always talk about toxicity, and while it's nice to have a good balance of goofing around in a "toxic" way, I think it's just as important to talk about small ways we can make DBD a better place. Let's go!

    Giving hatch to the last survivor usually means a lot to them, especially if there was a DC or throw during the game. Having just a little mercy is typically no big deal on the killer's side, but it can still make survivors very happy!

    If you close the hatch, it's still not too late to let the survivor leave through the exists. If you're feeling particularly nice you can let them leave through the gates, especially if they leave you an item, which brings us to...

    Leaving items for the killer is a sign of humility, or gratefulness. The killer may not keep these items, but it shows you care.

    Respecting challenges is also a small way to make survivors happy. Even if you kill them in the end, they helped them reach a goal, so if you see a survivor interacting with a glyph, just pause chase for a moment.

    Lastly, be nice in end game chat. Sometimes killers especially feel bullied, so it can mean a lot to go out of your way to be sympathetic and wish them good luck. You can have a "toxic" game and still have wholesome interactions in end game chat. Tell the other team how well they did, or perhaps you see something in common.

    At the end of the day, you can play any way you want, and you shouldn't feel pressured into doing a certain thing because it's courteous, this post was just for people who care about this kinda thing. GL!

    I do all of that as killer. Especially if someone DC's, which I get pretty often just because they see that I'm a Nemesis... I just hook everyone twice and let the other 3 finish their gens, whilst I go around punching or body-blocking my own zombies/breaking walls xD

    I had one game where I was mid-chase, kinda lost eyes on the killer, but spotted my glyph... so I stopped to do it and got found by Ghosty... and he just stood there looking at me and my glyph and just meme-ing, it was the funniest thing ever, so I just crouch-walked towards him and told him to hook/kill me, I had my glyph and couldn't care less about escaping lol, and he just let me go... love those interactions man πŸ˜‚

    Inspired by Pixel Bush's recent statement and the response it got, but informed by a now long history of debate on this issue. People say that the new survivor is clearly tailored to be drooled over to the point of ignoring his actual history and origin in favor of modern fashions and so on, that Haddie's relative failure means BHVR is now entirely focused on making survivors that people want to have relations with, and that it has gone beyond the isolated environment of the spinoff to now infect the main game, destroying what little semblance of horror aesthetic is left. Also, characters like Claudette get outfits that don't at all fit their reserved personalities.

    What do YOU think? Do you still want more daddy Ghostface, David, and revealing Kate skins? Or has it all gone all too far? Post your favorite Feng bikini cosmetic ideas as well.

    No, I play them based on their perks and their loudness, although I'm quite biased to every single RE character because I just love RE.

    I think the matter of viewing a fictional character as something that has sex-appeal is very subjective. Also, I think that BHVR just makes characters that are appealing, like of course they want people to actually want to play someone they have worked so long to design/create.

    In previous posts on the forums a lot of people were asking for another male and/or non-binary character that looks different from the average we have atm, and it seems like BHVR has delivered on some of those demands.

  • I've had the same with several of the Reverent challenges...

    Revenent.png

    I thought that it might've been because I Mori'd two instead of hooking them a 3rd time.

  • I have the exact same, in a previous game I Mori'd 2 survivors, those didn't count at all so I hooked all 4 in the next, and got 3 out of 4 as well.

    Edit: played 2 more games, and sacrificed all four survivors, I should be at 12 kills right now, but it's at 9.

    I have a buddy that once we get a map 3 times in a row, or 2 maps in 4 straight games, he will play a map offering every game for the rest of the session (different every time) just to make sure we get map variety.

    Its pretty sad when you can go a whole 4-6 hour session for 3 straight days and not get your favorite map.

    I actually tracked it a couple times and was pissed I played like 30 hours between getting Ormond, and once over 40 between getting Dead Dawg Saloon

    This is exactly why I put in an offering... like 4 times in a row Midwich, followed by 5 times Azarov?? How is that rng working xD

  • The word "hope"is censored but KY isn't. What is this censor even?

    People are literally cussing one another out with diseases, and it's okay for the censor but the character names aren't??? what a joke

  • @Grigerbest said:

    No, I still don't want some random guy from a lobby decide on which map I will play.

    Let the RNG decide.

    It would be lovely if the map "RNG" actually worked though. The number of times over the years I've had the same map games in a row, without an offering has been astounding.

    I was playing doctor for a daily and I got 4 spicy survivors. 2 brand new parts and an insta heal.

    The survivors were Zarina, Ace, Claudette and Meg.

    I hook Ace, I go for Claudette. Ace gets unhooked as I down Claudette and something interesting happens. Meg unhooks Claudette right behind me. What do I do? I go for Claudette again since Meg did the mistake of unhooking right behind me for no reason. I hook Claudette again and this Meg unhooks her once again right behind me. I go for Claudette again and kill her.

    The next one I find is Ace. I down Ace and (guess what?) Meg did the mistake of unhooking Ace right behind me. I go for Ace again and kill him.

    At the end of the match when all gens got done, I hook Zarina and Meg escapes. I got 3 kills out of this.

    In end game chat I got called "serial tunneler". I told them several times that Meg was the real killer but they only knew a few words. "Tunnel no skill" and some personal insults towards my family members and that's where I reported them for hate speech.

    Moral of the story: don't unhook right behind the killer if it's not needed and don't blame the killer for going after you for your teammate's mistake. Thank you for reading.

    Yes, that is tunneling. You could've gone for the Meg, or even hooked the Ace. Regardless, you'll always have those farming survivors who will those type of things, it's up to you how to respond on it. If I was the killer your match, I would've tunneled the Meg, just to make a point :)

    @CBT137 said:

    It is tunnelling but survivors usually think β€œtunnelling” is this magical barrier that prevents the killer from touching them at all after an unhook.

    That magical barrier is called BT! πŸ˜‚

    That was initially supposed to happen this year IIRC, but then the devs told us (I believe just before and after the release of patch 6.1) that they were pushing whatever changes they wanted to make to soloqueue back. The new ETA is 2023-2024. You could probably find their timeline thing to confirm.

    yea, they said something like that a year ago as well :) I'll take a 5 year break from this game, maybe then it'll be fixed lol

    The devs have stated that they are in fact going to at some point modify all survivor passive sounds so they are equivalent. Soon everyone will be as loud as the survivors you named.

    Sounds like their promise to fix soloq :) 'at some point' great!

  • @Ayodam said:

    Jeff, Bill, Jane, and David are also quite loud. Idk. It’s to help killers find them easier because killers have historically complained about struggling to find survivors.

    I know they're loud as well, that wasn't the point of my post. Rather that everyone's audio level should be equal.

  • I understand the frustration, but I'd still rather go against all the Nurses and Blightyboys than Pinhead and his chains.

  • Maybe try to play it a few times with friends or with bots whenever that update drops? Once you learn the map, it's a lot of fun to play on!

    Unless you're a rare Billy Main... but BIlly's have trouble on most indoor maps πŸ˜…

  • @Brimp said:

    If you crouch on the lower side you can 100% still be hit. On the side thats higher up the nemesis has to angle it a bit more.

    THIS explains why I usually didn't get hit, but during 2 or 3 games all of a sudden did. I thought that the angle didn't differ for the hitboxes...

  • @Rulebreaker said:

    To our knowledge, it has always prioritized survivors though with that narrow hitbox it usually hit pallets any way

    @Objectively_speaking said:

    If not infected it almost always breaks pallet first if survivor crouches at it edges. Otherwise if standing or infected it will priortize hitting survivor <From my experince with playing Nemesis>

    Aah okii, good to know, ty! ^^

  • I've been having a lot of fun with the combo of:

    • Wiretap
    • Repressed Alliance
    • Blast Mine
    • DH

    Though the activation button for all of them is the same πŸ˜… so sometimes it's a surprise which one you'll get lmao

  • They're not doing anything against the cheaters it seems. I keep encountering them, blatant ones at that as well. This has been going on for months now.

    Maybe BHVR can spend some time and money on securing their game and their player base instead of constantly adding new "limited-time" only skins and wasting that time/effort on that.

  • @jamally093 said:

    What I mean is end game starts and your at the exit it full opened by the way so why not just leave. Everyone is alive and healthy your all at the exit so why not just leave oh I see because your teabagging...okay then why are you not being punished for not leaving or not doing anything. Simple if a teammate is injured usually you heal at the exit gate for bonus BP but why aren't survivors punished for not doing anything at the exit gate just standing there flashlight spamming or teabagging I would like to know why. A killer is punished for standing next to a survivor and not moving standing at the exit gate and not moving is basically the same thing so why aren't survivors punished for it a killer loses BP for it so survivors should get the same or something else.

    There are some survivors that want to give to killer a last hit or w/e for the bloodpoints. What I personally do when playing killer is, if that happens, I just don't give them the satisfaction of showing up at the gates. I just tab out and do something else lol.

    I've had one game with a brilliant Ghostface that tried to bait me and a teammate to stay and goof around, he was moonwalking, hiding and so on, so we stayed, and apparently, he had 99-d us both, downed my teammate and hooked him, so I stayed to get him but there was Blood Warden. I've never laughed so hard at an EGC, that GF is my absolute favourite player!

  • I've had this happen to me 3 times between Leon and Sheva, definitely a bug.

    Considering no other licences are in hooked on you and its basically finished with the 5 as it is

    probably not

    maybe, someday.... 🀞

  • That sounds unfortunate! I think they mentioned in one of their streams that they were going to add bots, at some point.

    Can't you play it with friends for the moment?

  • There is a time to solely focus on doing gens and not healing, but to do it always can come with a couple of consequences.

    This is also why I chronically run CoH. Teammates with this mindset make the game a 1v1v1v1 instead of 1v4. And in 90% of the lobbies I've been in teammates like you don't get unhooked, no one will take a protection hit for you even if it is very much needed, and if it comes to end-game no one is going to wait to see if you make it to an exit gate, everyone will just leave without a care in the world whether you make it out or not πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ GL with your gens :)

  • It's almost as if the devs are humans.... not AI's.... so odd!

  • It doesn't make sense to blame people for not doing generators when generator time has increased. It doesn't make sense to blame solo queue teammates when survivor perks have been nerfed. It doesn't make sense to blame people for quitting when the game has become completely unplayable and not fun at all for them.

    It does make sense. You know that gen times have increased thus by clicking 'Find match' you're doing it knowingly and meaning that you want to play the game regardless of that. The same goes for the perks people used to use, nerfed or not. If you don't like it, don't play the game. Don't ruin it for 4 others that DO want to play the game, despite w/e issues anyone might have with w/e aspect of the game.

  • Yes, it happens. Maybe they've had a 'moment' earlier in the game or the killer found them a good looper etc. I wouldn't take it personally, some players just play like that for w/e reason.

  • Pinhead's chains 😀

    If the game itself kicks you, why do you think it'd be able to detect that and not give you a penalty? The game kicking you wouldn't be an issue if it could detect that it was doing it.

    That's literally what I'm saying! That it would be nice IF it could.

    Not possible because people can just pull the plug. And if you have bad internet to the point you're DCing from games, you shouldn't be playing.

    Uhm no, it's not as if DC-ing is always due to faulty internet. You do realise that sometimes it's because of the servers or in-game errors, right? It can also happen when someone gets DDOS-d for example, which has nothing to do with the player, but anyway, that's a whole different point.

    My point was that it would be nice if there was a system that could differentiate between all those separate things and react accordingly πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

    @VikingDragonXii said:

    If you look it says they can DC against cheaters if they have proof so more than likely when they DC they are probably contacted by a staff member that asks for the proof

    Someone put up a video of the streamer, and it didn't seem like he had to wait or provide any proof. Though maybe it was done prior to that part of the recording IDK. Tho I highly doubt BHVR has so many employees at the ready to remove the timer every time they get messaged by FW's when they DC against a cheater.

  • What would be interesting about this, IF it's actually true and not just hearsay, is that it implies that the system they have can distinguish that it's a diff type of player therefore the DC penalty should not apply. If it can do that, then why not try to apply the same to people that get disconnected due to game/server errors and those who just simply leave the match for w/e reason? Penalise the latter and not the former, considering people have 0 control over that.

  • They're going to add bots in the future anyway. So if DC's still happen you'll get a bot for a teammate :)
