  • 5 minutes? That's nothing, mine has been between 10-15 minutes. I wish it was 5 :/

  • it's clear to me NOED being nerfed to the ground has played a MAJOR role in it

Lmao forum comedy festivals are at it again! Yes, the majority of the survivors are complaining about not being able to get downed by NOED, there is no issue with SoloQ or anything 💀 give me a break.

Thats what we had to read from survivors before the patch.

Despite knowing how much of a nonsense reaction that is and how it feels when people said it to killers, you're going to do the same to someone else? Great attitude dude, really mature.

  • Unpopular opinion: but if survivors aren't allowed to stack Endurance perks, neither should killers be allowed to stack more than 2 slowdown perks 🤷‍♀️

  • the game is over before the day is over its a genrush

    🤣🤣

But yes, those people still exist. I've seen players say that with 3 slowdown perks... like you can either apply pressure and defend gens or you can't.

Also, they got 2K so that's a balanced game, so why complain?

I don't want to play Solo Q anymore. I got tired after few days of awfull games more than ever.

This!! I used to play Solo for hours before because it was fun. Now after 1 good game I just close the game and leave it on a good note 😂 Why look a gifted horse in the mouth ya'know.

  • I'd truly consider changing your title, considering this has nothing to do with the majority of the player base albeit killer/survivor.

What happened to you guys is terrible, I know how that feels. I hope you can somehow report them still and enjoy the game for all the fun things the game itself offers, and not what some lame person does to exploit it/cheat and ruin it for others!

  • The first day/two after the update yes, some people were throwing/DC-ing.

However now? No, they're not at least it's not any worse than it was before the update. I've had a lot of games with 3v1 (due to 1 person getting tunneled to death at 5gens, being face-camped or not being able to loop for long) and as a team, we were still trying to get the gens done, do hook-rescue's, heal and loop the killer. Even when it was obvious everyone was going to die, people would do everything to at least get as much BP as possible.

Preset text callouts would be good.

Even if for the ability to spam "Repair a gen" over and over again.

Really hope this won't be the case. An icon that would just indicate what they're doing would be so much better than people constantly spamming texts. And there are going to be people who're going to be spam things just to spam.

  • What I find worse about the grind is how it's also taking way longer and so much more BP to get the items/add-ons you want on both roles. I'm barely getting any green add-ons on my killers, let alone purple/iri ones 😕

  • @Bwsted said:

The problem with his take is that he literally plays this for a living and he just memes around when playing survivor. Some of his self-imposed challenges made him that kind of survivor very few would like as a teammate, if you know what I mean.

He goes in there with a mindset completely different from the casual gamer who's investing their free time for leisure. While definitely no one deserve to win without effort and knowledge, every player would at least like to have a shot at an enjoyable experience.

It's also a completely different way from how he approaches the game when he plays killer, where he actually tries to win, even when he tried challenges.

Secondly, his take about soloq is just shy of ignorant. Saying soloq was miserable pre-patch (true) to downplay the sentiment that now it's even MORE miserable, just completely misses the mark of why people are upset. Imagine you get beat up barefist by someone every day, but you push through it. Then, one day they show up with a baseball bat. Are you gonna say you should put up with the latter just because you did with the former and because both are miserable anyway? That's the essence of his argument.

Thirdly, the problem is not tunneling by itself. The issue is more complex. The problem with survivor gameplay is that most of what you do post 6.1.0 feels inconsequential to the outcome of the match and the interaction with the killer is flimsy and predictable and the remainder is to hold down a button.

There's camping first, where no one literally gets to do anything but hold m1, hang on hook, or 1-for-1/get grabbed. Then comes the actual tunneling, that most of the time doesn't translate to chase interaction as Scott tried to suggest, because of either overly oppressive antiloop or simply getting easily bloodlusted. In either case, the tunnel doesn't add gameplay. It's just a rehook simulator. And finally, there's the actual gen repairing that with the bloated repair time and with the plethora of regression just feel like an inane exercise, while someone else gets camptunned.

Finally, unless I understand what he said wrong, or the perk is bugged again, but Overcome is the single worst exhaustion perk you can pick if you want to avoid getting tunneled. You literally have no exhaustion after getting unhooked and as soon as the killer realized that's what you're running in your first chase, that paints a giant bullseye on your back saying "please, eliminate me."

    Perfectly explained!

Also to Scott's point, yes being chased can be fun and in the long run, you will learn from it. However, when this is happening games in a row because this tactic is now very easy and common it ruins all the fun. It's no fun leaving match after match getting face-camped and then being tunneled to death, with the killer literally ignoring the other survivors. Nor is it fun to have the absolute bare minimum of BP's because you spent getting chased all game long and barely did any of the other side objectives to earn as much BP as possible.

  • Luckily I haven't faced Legion that much since the patch, just Nurses and Blights. But I'll take those two over Legion any day 😁 Although I do wonder why so many people seem to be facing the same type of killer many games in a row 🤔

  • I see the same trend. You'd think playing killer being so easy a 12yo could do it and get a 4k would make this less of an issue. But it has only made it worse. It's as if killers were the side that got a major nerf and had their perks turned into useless ones 😂

you sir are 100% wrong. I literally just played on Erie of crows as wraith 1 of the survivors wasn't running ANY perks and they still destroyed me not because i'm bad. 1 of them literally ran around the main building and jumped through the window with the breakable wall and I lost sight of him and bloodlust even dropped. I only could get 1 hit on him then i couldnt catch up while his other team mates were on gens and they got 2 and a half gens done during that time. And I just did it once I didn't over chase him. clearly a map design fault. ORmond and now Erie of crows. there are more maps as well. I don't need to explain much to you. People have been literally complaining about maps for a VERY LONG TIME

Read the first sentence I wrote again.

It's called "Common sense", you should try it sometimes.

When I start playing some game, I cannot beat the endgame boss right of the bat (unless I'm super skilled and/or beatend this game numerous times). Using cheat or exploits would be crutch.

I cannot compete against world class MMA fighter, unless I'm myself. But bringing shank or gun to a fight would be a crutch.

I cannot enter the university if I'm not educated enough or not educated enought yet. But my big-pockets daddy could grease some hands and I'm in - that's a crutch.

The problem is that crutches are allowed in some areas, intentionally or not. So yes, crutch is a crutch. And I can decide what crutch is, just as a member of society and human being. Who are you to prohibit me of speaking my mind? People can agree or not, but that's my point, you can argue, but definetely not point me where is my place. Ain't that arrogant? Definetely not your place to do that.

First of all, no need to be rude. You misread what I said.

You said: Cheesy tactics, some exploits, abusing some imbalances, etc.

Using exploits/imbalances are the game's fault, not the player's. What if it's a new player and they have no clue as to what they're doing/getting away with is due to an imbalance/exploit? You're generalizing. If someone is consciously deciding to use exploits, then yes, you'd be right. But to think that applies to everyone is ignorant.

Using cheats is a whole different subject that you yourself didn't even mention in your post, so IDK what that's about. IDC what definition you give to the word crutch, because that wasn't even my point. Either actually read what I'm saying, instead of reading what you're thinking I'm saying. And if you're not going to then fine don't, like I care. 🤷‍♀️

  • Agree with your last sentence.

    @EvilSerje said:

A crutch (in games) is something that allows you to do things you don't deserve. Cheesy tactics, some exploits, abusing some imbalances, etc.

Who here is deciding what someone deserves or doesn't? That's such an arrogant mindset. Even if the majority thinks that still who cares? Opinions aren't facts.

If it's an issue of something actually being imbalanced then it's on the game, not the person using the tools they got.

  • I still like it, especially because it incentivizes to move away from a hooked person. Though I really do miss the extra BP that came with it.

That's how it worked in Friday 13th, gather parts and then someone with guts had to try and install them whilst stopping Jason.

Oh, maybe that's why they didn't add it, would've been too similar.

  • I mean it would help to not take game mechanics so seriously. When I give survivors hatch they always do a one-time crouch move, which I see as a courtesy bow 😂 because that's how I mean it myself. Same with when someone heals me, I always give them a thank you crouch, because what other form of communication do you have?

  • Whichever killer that has any bit of personality. So usually Ghostface, Executioner, and some Bubba's.

  • @MilManson said:

Why do they close their game capture when you mori them? One of them I went against even said "I'm just going to put up my mori blocker now so we don't watch it."

Maybe they find it too gruesome for their audience? Not every streamer has 18+ viewers. Though IDK why they'd stream a game like DBD if that's the case.

  • Instead of going through 40 perks, adjusting gen-times, and overall buffing every killer's basekit, they should have reworked on balancing the maps and removed infinite loops.

As for survivors they don't have that many recourses, let alone "really powerful ones". If you're still having that much of an issue to hook a survivor after the patch on a map like Ormond, it sounds more like a you problem.

  • The killer queue really is long, and I'm not going to wait 15+ minutes to get in a match.

Nobody said they’re game breaking. People are not having fun, simple as that.

”But killers haven’t had fun for a while!” And that’s valid. But we don’t need to drastically swing the pendulum.

Solo queue is notoriously bad as is, and it’s just gotten worse. That doesn’t make every complaint a boosted survivor throwing a tantrum.

Before this update, I actually had a lot of fun as killer. 95% of the games were really enjoyable. SoloQ however was a 50-50 then and it's worse now.

  • Enough with the negativity already. Find a new subject.

  • Hahah I was thinking more along the lines of grinding like in Rust/ARK, but Mingus will do as well IG. Maybe that's why the Entity lifts survivors up, to float them into space 💀

  • Whilst that might sometimes be the case there are also killers that like to meme and goof around a bit; for example, GF and Demopup.

  • I always wondered why repairing a gen didn't require you to search for components across the map and then actually have to fit them in the gen accordingly, connect wires etc. instead of staring at a progression bar and hitting skill-checks from time to time.

Add the snake game from the indestructible Nokia 😂

  • Since the patch dropped the amount of overall negativity in posts and replies has been very noticeable and quite tiresome.

Sometimes it seems like some people on here forget that they're speaking to other human beings. That you can express your opinion without either attacking the other party or being downright rude, it's just so unnecessary. IDK if it's because some are just young and their emotions might be getting the best of them at times. Or too many frustrations. The heatwave?

Whatever the reason for each individual and no matter what specific thing has made them feel a certain type of way, we really need to remember that this is just a video game. It really isn't worth nor healthy to get so worked up over it.

  • Are you sure that that's a can of worms you want to open? 👀

Just had a roughly 46 minutes game against a legion with thana, scourge hook gift of pain, hex plaything and pentimento. Spoiler alert: all of us died at 2 gens still remaining. Second spoiler: Map we played on was Azarov's resting place.

    Now let that sink in

    *gives hug*

That is absolutely insane. Didn't Peanits say that no game should go on for longer than 30min and if it did it counted as being 'held hostage'? I'm paraphrasing here and I'm not 100% sure tho, but I think he/they said something along those lines.

I don't want to let that sink in, I'd rather turn my PC off and go touch grass 💀 I hope you have a wonderful day despite that!

  • As a Leon main, I miss IW SO DAMN much. Guy's loud AF 😥 It would've been fine if they had nerfed it to just the 75% loudness, but not working when exhausted? Makes it utterly useless. Or heck even kept it at 100%, but have their breathing be audible.

DH should've stayed at 1s without the weird animation because some of us are being put in lobbies with killers with ping from another galaxy.

    Agree on the rest.

The problem is still apparent. Even off the hook, killers are still whacking people right away which, yes, activates the purpose of OTR. But when they come back straight to the hook majority of the time or proxy it, it defeats the purpose of no scratch and grunts when you're either getting hit immediately or being chased for 5 seconds because they think you might just have base BT. Regardless, with the killer chages to lowered attack recovery and decrease in time it takes to get into bloodlust, anti tunnel ######### is still just as pointless as it was

Mhm, I agree. Here's to hoping it gets changed.

  • I still love using this build on Nemesis and hasn't let me down:

    • Corrupt
    • Jolt
    • Snitch Crows
    • Starstruck: this one depends on what the survivors bring in the lobby, if it's for Medkits then Sloppy.
    • Add-ons: Dep. Ink Ribbon & T-virus sample

I don't bother much with finding survivors at the start of the trail, instead, I slap the zombies asap then go for a survivor to get to T2 pronto. That's what Corrupt is for.

    On survivor:

    • Prove Thyself, CoH, SB/Overcome & Flashbang

The only fun thing about this build is FB, everything else is survival mode.

  • It's a combination of too many changes at the same time. They were supposed to 'change' the meta, but they only managed to truly do that for one side; the survivors.

As killer, you still have a lot of very good stackable gen-regression perks at your disposal. But god forbid survivors get to stack anything. Camping wasn't addressed & tunneling got incentivised more so due to 1 perk that gave a survivor a slight advantage aka OTR. But also because it's overall easier to do so thanks to all the base killer buffs. As for their plans for SoloQ, it was all talk & no show.

Let's not forget that game is soon going to be on sale and a lot of new players will be added to the bowl. With MMR "working" as it does, Solo is probably going to get worse.

  • No, I don't think that would be fair to killers or other survivors at all.

The best things to buff soloq with are the things BHVR has already mentioned themselves: basekit kindred and HUD info on who's doing what during a trial.

  • @Lecruidant said:

The amount of Killers trash talking people that used DS. Not DH. Because DH was understandable. But DS? You're trash talking people using a perk designed and intended for anti tunneling, that worked well for them. And you're happy that it's gone so you can tunnel efficiently without fear of losing out on said tunnel kill. It's honestly sad. All from people who can't pressure the map and camp too no doubt. And when you point it out, they say you're "Crying". It's mind boggling how that works.

Those types of players say the same thing about most other perks as well. When what it really comes down to is that it is easier for them to blame others for their own shortcomings and mistakes. They're doing it now with OTR, because that as well is an anti-tunneling perk 💀

  • No. There is a time and place to maybe give up, but it's almost always in your own and your team's favour not to.

    @GannTM said:

I’m sure anyone that has passion for this game doesn’t want to have to leave because the devs didn’t know how to fix solo queue.

I think they know exactly how to fix it, they probably don't see it as anything that needs prioritisation over all else.

  • @Mooks said:

Keyboard is better. Buttons not registering on point is something also happening on controller, and I would argue it’s worse there.

killer have a big disadvantage on controllers. aiming, flicking and even just controlling your redlight for mind games is way more precise on keyboard/mouse.

survivor it’s not that great of a difference, but i would still argue looping and turning is possibly faster on keyboard/mouse as you will be able to run around assets and change directions faster and M&K.

it would be great if advanced controller settings such as deadzones, response curve and different sensitivities for aiming would be a thing in DbD.

Ah thank you for explaining! Was really surprised to see so many say that M&K would work better as killer and controller for survivor.

I really wish the key registrations were on-time...

  • Only if we get Jujutsu Kaisen next! 😎

  • As someone that has been waiting forever for some new RE cosmetics, I feel ya!

  • A vaccine that will cure Nemi's zombies and turn them into teammates.

But joking aside it would be nice if you could place mines at doors/vaults that would explode when the killer passes them and give them the Knock Out status effect for 1.5s 😈 With the same restrictions and workings that Flashbang has. So you can hold 1 at a time and have to work on a gen to create it.

  • @Gary_Coleman said:

Proposition: I run Lethal Pursuer, Floods of Rage, BBQ and I'm All Ears. I have seen people try to stealth, i see everything. I see the little dust particles in the sky. I have witnessed events so tiny and so fast they can hardly be said to have occurred at all. But you, Dwight, you're just a survivor. The world's stealthiest survivor poses no more threat to me than does its best gen jockey.

A single locker (which is near most gens) counters all of that. Good luck chasing dust particles in the sky though! ✌️

  • @Tostapane said:

you aren't unlucky... remember what i said to you before: just because a single perk was changed (iron will), you won't see spirits for the simple fact that this killer is bad aganist survivors with a modicum of brain... sure she can still be annoying with her strongest addons, but:

1 people don't have unlimited strong addons (expensive and rare, especially now that the reworked bloodweb will gave you more brown and yellow items rather than green, purple and red addons)

2 she doesn't have any form of antiloop (her power is based only on her MS, she can't do nothing aganist pallets or windows and she can still be easily spotted if you aren't deaf)

3 people will probably prefer killers that aren't addon dependant

As an old Spirit main I have to disagree with you. I mean yes, it can be that way if the player makes it so. However, if you can generate map pressure and play tactfully, she can be a force to be reckoned with. I never had trouble going against survivors with IW, even though I never used Whispers/Stridor. Once you get the hang of how to play her, you really don't need to rely so heavily on one aspect to locate/down survivors.

The biggest issue are just some of the map designs, and that has nothing to do with any of the killers really.

SBMM's goal is to provide you with the best matchup out of what's currently available. The devs have talked about this - if it had to wait for the literal perfect match, you'd be waiting all day. There will naturally be variance in terms of matches and outcomes, but I'm pretty confident in its consistency at this point even though it took a lot of time & effort to tune to to the point that it's operating now.

Yes, but there are many more games that have a properly working MMR system and none of those have too long of queue times.

What you're writing in your main post is just one aspect out of the many that are influencing the game atm, and it certainly isn't the biggest factor. It will always be a mixed bowl of soup.

  • Kate's cosmetics are beautiful! And I love how the Dredge kinda looks like Jack Skellington.

Why isn't Adam in both instead of Trickster, he really deserves some love :(

  • @Mozic said:

    Howdy folks,

I'm not here to antagonize, but to contextualize. Killers just became stronger - Survivor's best survival tools in the game just got nerfed. SBMM doesn't know this - and is pairing survivors and killers as though nothing has changed. The calibration is off because it needs to intake match outcomes in order to observe and adjust matchups accordingly. Corrections are painful and frustrating, but there's fun matches on the other side.

This sort of thing would happen to me all the time, particular with the grade system pre-MMR. I'd have some good luck one day, and then the most absolutely unfun string of discouraging matches almost as a "punishment" for those good outcomes the next. (Fortunately, since SBMM was implemented, these whiplash moments have been almost nonexistent!)

This isn't a remark on anyone's actual capabilities - everyone still has the game knowledge they had before this patch. I'm just saying play it through. Once SBMM has adjusted to what survivors and killers are now capable of, the matchups will be more appropriate again.

Let's be honest, that's assuming SBMM works as intended at all hours of the day, on all regions and servers. Which is a highly improbable system to maintain for every single match. Edit: especially when you take the fact that the system prioritizes shorter queue times over skill into consideration.

1 … 18 19 20 21 22 … 26
