Solo Q was already a challenge, it didn't need to be made more boring, annoying and frustrating than it already was.
If the devs really want to boost kill rates by sacrificing solos, I'll give them what they want. Legion/Plague with thana? it's a suicide on hook for me chief. No one thinks pressing m1 for more than 2 mins is fun sorry.
Honestly maybe just wait until mid-chapter to play solo again. Maybe then they'll add their HUD-info idea or w/e.
I'm not touching SoloQ even if I got paid for it. I'm going to let this patch and all the crazy perk builds simmer down, let the killer mains have their "revenge" and come back when it's less hectic and tiresomeπ
Or just play killer.

I stopped initially after 2. I had every killer at level 50+ with every perk at tier 3 but only 2 we're ever prestiged before yesterday. I Hurried and hit the prestige node last night on the rest (except a few I was using for bp to finish off a couple survivors to lvl 50). Now ALL the killers I rushed to p1 last night are only p3 the others that I left at p0 (accidentally) are much higher p levels. I knew prestiging would cost my item/add-ons/offerings but my issue is if I had not done it, all my killers would be much higher p levels (i know this because I have MANY MANY more hrs on some that I did p1 last night).
That's so odd. BHVR said that you wouldn't be losing anything by leveling up and prestiging that the system would be a catch-up one.
Does this mean that your P3's from before the update are P9 atm, and your P0's are P10 or higher?
-
@voorheesgt said:
I stopped prestiging characters after 2 killers because I realized the grind it would cause (before new system of course). Yesterday I see a "if you haven't already, do this NOW" video. He explained that if you had just grinded and not ever prestiged a character to prestige them now so you'd get p3 with the 2 gift levels. Well... I did so except with 5 lvl 50 killers I wanted to use for bp (to finish leveling a few survivors) before the update. I forgot to p1 those killers before bed. I thought this morning I'd see those 5 being p2... Now ALL my killers are p3 but with no add-ons or general (non teachable) perks except the 5 killers that I left un-prestiged accidentally.... Those killers are between p5 and p12 with all add-ons and perks retained.
I feel like this advice mixed with the confusing way the catch up rewards would work actively screwed me out of thousands of hours of gameplay. Anybody else follow this advice based on the update release info?
How are they P12? BHVR capped it at 9, or did you prestige them after the update again? π€
Also, I had some killers at P3, and some at P1, and they haven't lost anything after the update. Have you restarted your game to see if it's not just a bug?

I had a match against a Blight last night. The first survivor hooked dc'd right as I was unhooking them. Then I just ran at the Blight for the rest of the game. The other two survivors hid while I chased the Blight. Eventually they did the remaining gens and the three of us escaped. After the match I pm'd the killer and apologized for getting in their face and I said I did that bc I got so frustrated with my teammates dc'ing and playing scared. The killer responded with a laugh and said they figured thats what was happening so they ran away from me bc the situation was so funny. Luckily, the killer had a good sense of humor. That game made me want to keep playing. Although, most of my other games didn't go so well last night.
I love when you're vibing more with the killer (not farming) than with your teammates.

Well I would like to ask...
Would you prefer they leave you to die on that hook because they don't have BT, or would you rather they unhook you and pray a) they can body block, b) you have DS, or that c) the killer is merciful?
I sympathize with your post, but you cannot complain about "being unhooked without BT." Not everyone runs BT, and it is entirely possible no one in your lobby has BT. Cry all you want about being left to die on first hook, but when push comes to shove you need to be grateful someone is even attempting to trade their life for yours.
If I have BT, I know I'm the only one with BT, I can see on Kindred that the killer is camping, and I'm working on a generator across the map, guess what? I'm not running across the map to save you. That doesn't make one iota of sense--it is more time efficient for me to finish my gen, and trust the closer guys to decide your fate.
---
I have 2.5k hours in this game. My experience has taught me that our collective chance of escaping is higher if 3 gens are completed while a survivor enters Stage 2, than if 0 gens are completed and the survivor is unhooked during Stage 1.
Yes, I'd rather die and move on to the next game than get saved at the last possible moment, and have the killer down us both when there are still 4 gens left. You're missing the entire point. Ofc I don't expect people to go for unhooks when the killer is face-camping or proxying, I meant when he is clearly patrolling gens or is chasing someone else.
I'm not "crying or complaining" about people not having BT, that's an example of how it goes when the very few people (lately) that do go for unhooking, do it at the last stages of the 2nd hook stage. My main point was about the matter of the majority not going for hook rescues at all. When it clearly is safe to do so.
-
@The_Krapper said:
If you're gonna play solo it's a good idea to bring kindred so that way when someone is hooked you know who's doing what and when it's YOU hooked they all can coordinate better and see what's happening, unfortunately that's all you can really do as a solo and even that won't fix scared or unintelligent teammates
Honestly, atm I feel like that would be a big waste of perk slot. Because I've seen how the other teammates play when someone has Kindred, I still have to be the one to go for the unhook, whilst they're just standing, crouching, or opening a chest... I already have 1 chronic perkslot for my teammates by equipping BT, I'm not going to waste another one π
-
@Mekochi said:
Ikr! I was playing solo queue last night, that way I could finish getting my bill to prestige 3 before the new update, and I did 3 gens, was unhooking everyone, and helping to heal my teammates when I wasn't working on a generator, and I was elected to die on first hook because the other two teammates that were still alive were too scared to get me. Killer didn't have NOED or anything.
Don't even get me started on the teammate the disconnected when they were dead on hook, instead of just letting themselves die and still getting blood points, instead they wasted my time going all the way across the map to unhook them (this was when they were on second hook) and proceeded to go down within 15 seconds of me and hooking them (killer waited out BT).
Can't imagine how solo queue is going to be after this new patch, don't get me wrong, the BT being base kit is nice, but just playing solo queue now is a pain, because no one wants to go for anyone, even if you have kindred, that's not going to help you, I learned that the hard way.
It has exactly been like this! And every time I got 1 match of adequate teammates, the next 3 are worse like I have to repent for that 1 good match π
-
If you're getting frustrated by pallets and whether to break them or not it kinda sounds like you might need to take a brief break from the game. Maybe until after the update goes live. Or hey, maybe play an anti-looping killer?
I understand where you're coming from but I personally would either mind-game survivors, break the pallet, down them with bloodlust, or in the worst-case scenario equip Spirit Fury. But I mostly play Nemi nowadays so I don't mind pallets/windows at all π

Streamers aside, the Killer should not be able to see names and profiles in the Lobby anyway. Gameplay-wise there is 0 reason to show those in the lobby, they just promote dodging, because the Killer might dodge due to SWF, a Survivor who has more than 5 hours in the game or god forbid a private profile.
So names and profiles should be removed from the Lobby. Regardless if someone is streaming or not.
Agree with killers not being able to see profiles in the lobby. The same should go for everyone in the lobby really.
@ OP, I don't mind seeing someone's name being a TTV, because I instantly know to dodge the lobby altogether. I didn't sign up for my gameplay to be seen by x amount of viewers, whether I'm having a great or horrendous game. And I've never been happier that I'm on Epic and have no profile, what with all the onstream doxing that sometimes happens.

If no one cares, then why are you making an entire post about it? If it's a bug then report it as such.

If you have a good reporting system and record game logs, you don't even need a crazy coded system to catch them. Let the player base do it for you, problem with this game is subtle hackers, it is very hard to tell if someone is only wall hacking.
IDK what system they're using but it is clearly lacking hard. These people I get paired up with aren't even subtle hackers. They're obnoxious and in your face about it and in end-game chat. From getting pulled into several matches with 2 killers, all gens popping after spawning into a map to being held hostage in the game to be hooked/unhooked nonstop.
And it's very frustrating because I'd gotten out of lower MMR hell, and now I'm probably dropped back into it.
-
I'm bringing this topic back because there's been an influx of cheaters in the last 2 weeks, and if I'd have to DC every time that happened I'd get penalised for 24 hours.

ive hidden in plain sight and have killers not see me at all. trust me my method works and also i walked into the room so my scratch marks wouldnt be seen so its pretty sus how he knew i was there
That's a P3 Myers, the average killer with experience will know where to look anyways and not fall for 'hiding' survivors.
Aside from that aura reading perks are plenty, he could've spotted you with BBQ/Scourge Hook: Floods of rage. Or it could've been Scratched Mirror Michael. Even Stridor or Whispers could've been giveaways. But time management is essential, when he is hooking someone that's a great time for you to do gens! The one you were at could've even blocked your aura in case of BBQ.
But that bit at the end seems very sus, he'd have to have moonwalked a bit, for you not to see his red stain and then go all the way around.. if that's the latency oof.. games are going to be really rough. But yea, camping/tunneling are a bit of a thing atm.
-
I wholeheartedly disagree if you're talking about doing all of that and it being okay at 4/5 gens. At 2/3 gen? Tunneling and camping are fine, but before that.. that's just having bad map pressure.
When I play killer and notice an obvious skill difference I will def go easy on survivors. I'll hook everyone twice, maybe kill 2 but let 2 go. I don't miss out on any fun doing that.
As survivor, I absolutely love killers that show any bit of personality and aren't just your average 'killing-bots'. Killers that will stand beside my hook when the entity takes me or Ghostfaces that goof around despite still playing the game (e.g. getting hooks/kills) will always make me smile and enjoy the game more. Same for nodding Demo pups <3

Buffy: a tombs map would be quite cool and Alien: a creepy spaceship or something

About a year ago they changed the way certain characters look. I had purchased cosmetics for some of them, and worked to unlock others during events. The point is, if you like the way they look right now, you should consider the fact that they can change that look on a whim. The RE cosmetics were excellent on release, and something that they did during the same time frame actually made them look worse.
It's up to you, but I personally will never trust BHVR with cosmetic purchases again.
Ooh really? Well that's good to know ty!

What is it lately with all the TTVs in lobbies being the most toxic people imaginable? It doesn't matter whether they win or lose, they'll post all kinds of horrible things in the post game chat. Then, if you go to their streams, you'll see them saying just as bad or worse things about you the whole time. Do they think this makes anyone want to watch their streams? Is there a better way to report these kinds of streamers, since they might be people's first exposure to the game?
I've noticed this lately as well, and have seen a few even dox players' profiles on stream. I just report them on Twitch when the latter is the case. Preferably I dodge their lobbies altogether, but that's a bit difficult to do when they're the killer π

Actions not registering.
Whether it is to hook someone, to drop a pallet, to break it, vault, DH, and so on not registering when you actually press its button, instead you have to spam it for it to actually work. Which is on both sides killer/survivor just as frustrating. And it's not always ping related or due to hit-validation.

Buying Skins is also a great way to show continued support for the game. If you for the most part enjoy playing the game and plan to keep playing for a while, it's always worth it to invest a little bit of extra money on skins and DLC to help support the game and watch it continue to grow. π

It takes a moment to get to know the lay-out of the map well, but once you do it's a great map. It just takes a killer that can generate a lot of map pressure and they can absolutely destroy.

Just ignore them. It's nothing personal. They don't see you as a person, they see their idea of 'a killer' and what that should be.
Some people just like to take everything out on others, thinking that might make them less miserable (it won't).

No, every time I do that even now the killers play sweaty AF. So there's no point really.
It's going to be playing with sweaty SWF's only.

You can't fight fire with fire.
Honestly, just move on to the next game or play at a diff time of day! The difference that the latter makes might really surprise you.
-
Crutch for whom?
For a lot of killers to whine about, even though 9/10 times it could easily be baited?
Yes, good survivors know how to use it well but if you're chasing a god looper you're already losing the game, regardless of DH's involvement. The average survivor DH's for distance often into a wall/tree/whatever inanimate object. And if they do manage to get into the next loop, jungle-gym T&L, you can mindgame them.

If it's down to 3 survivors and it's a Nurse then yes. Otherwise not really no.

From the 1-100 levels, you get varied amounts of Iridescent Shards, getting a smaller amount in the earlier levels and getting more in the later half. This is because it takes a smaller amount of match XP to get earlier levels than later levels. It ends up working out to be about the same amount of shards per match though overall, as you can see by the Shards/XP ratio on the right side of the below table.
