Hey fellow hags in the fog,

I have been playing hag in purple-ish ranks for the last while and absolutely loving her. I usually run nurses, sloppy, monitor, and ruin, but have been struggling with gens flying lately, especially on larger maps like coldwind and red forest.

I keep on hearing conflicting advice about corrupt intervention: SpaceCoconut, a big hag main, claims it hurts hag, and Michi, arguably the best hag player I've seen at least, uses corrupt every build.

What are your thoughts on corrupt intervention on the hag? Should I be using my 9000 shards on plague?

I'm conflicted if I should be getting this perk from plague. It seems like a lot of the time the survivors get super agressive when corrupt is in play and harass the hag in the early game so it is hard to set up traps. Or 2 gens still pop in the first two minutes, regardless of corrupt is in play.

Would love to hear your opinions about this perk, and any strategy for trap placement you use if you use it. Thanks for helping out a baby hag!

I've had extreme success with sloppy butcher, ruin, undying and surveillance. If you find a survivor early, try for roughly 10 seconds to get them injured with sloppy. If you can't ignore them and focus on your trap placement. Ruin and surveillance are godlike as long as ruin is up. I never trap near hooks on first hook. Try looking for choke points and paths you know the survivors are going to take to your hook. I'd say roughly 10 -15 meters from the hook. Try to be unpredictable and remember that hag is a defensive killer with almost no offense. Don't chase survivors! Hag is most dangerous when she has a hooked survivor.

Now I know the killers have to be "op" to a certain extent for them to be able to win against 4 other people. In the case of leatherface and the doctor they are overpowered to a point where it's not fun to go against. Which I am many others can probably agree means they need to be toned down a bit. For example earlier today I had a leather face who hit me when I went through a window and was about 10 feet away from it. Now part of it was probably lag but still that's pretty insane. Now with the doctor I know his whole game play is structured around slowing down and annoying the survivors, but he really shouldn't stop you from doing action for a couple seconds after he shocks you. For example I've had many doctors shock me right before I used dead hard, and whether your in a dead zone or not your basically dead. So I propose that Bubba gets a longer cool down on his chain saw attack not much longer but longer. I also propose that the doctor doesn't stop actions like dead hard or vaults and only slows down the survivor for a few seconds. Please let me know if anyone thinks this is unreasonable thanks you for you're time.

You lost me at OP. Learn to play at a high level and stop begging the devs for changes

The most boring meta that we had so far will be annihilated from existence in 3-4 weeks from now. Like it or not, undying needed a nerf, let me explain why.

The roles of hexes are simple: have a unique powerful effect that can be countered by breaking the specific hex totem. Undying gave free aura reading, in most situations you'd simply have an aura revealed completely randomly because they happen to pass from a totem, and it amplified the rng factor by reviving the hexes on other dull totems. The survivor game would go like this: the killer has ruin, you find a lit totem, so you cleanse it. But you're still cursed so you know it's undying. So you have to spend precious gen time, with a huge risk of being discovered by the killer, to search the whole map to find another hex totem. And it's literally 50/50 if it's undying or ruin. If it is undying you'll have to search the whole map, yet again, to find ruin. If you find ruin you have to do the first step again until you eventually cleanse ruin.

Does this really sound fun to you? Please don't proceed to whataboutism, because there are plenty of unfun things in the game, which the devs try to fix.

Do you know the snowball effect? Basically, if you hook a survivor another survivor has to stop doing gens to go save them. If you find a different survivor they are forced to not do gens. So 1 person only does gens. With ruin undying, in this situation, 1/4th of the team already doesn't do gens, so basically no one is doing gens. You get free pressure for nothing.

Soz yeah undying needed a nerf and shouldn't be reverted

People are complaining? Or surprised? Look at the track record of good killer perks! Not surprising in the least. Meanwhile OoO and ds are still running rampant

  • @TheBigBingus said:

The fact that they have, once again, REFUSED to change DS or OoO is ######### outlandish, and yet not even 6 months after release undying got nerfed into the ######### ground just shows that they don't care. They need more survivors to play the game, so they refuse to fix things that killers have been complaining about for years, because they just don't care anymore. Keys are still a thing despite moris being nerfed into literal uselessness, and there is no update on when or IF keys will be changed. Yes, ruin undying was too powerful, I agree with that. but guess what else is powerful? Medkits, DS unbreakable, OoO with SWF teams, gen speeds at the state they are at, map offerings, keys, dead hard, borrowed time, and so much more. I honestly don't care at this point. I've just given up hope that this game will ever be balanced, so I now no longer feel ashamed of playing like a #########, because if I actually play nice and take peoples fun into account, I'm going to lose. Also, this joke of a clown rework and wraith buff is just sad. wraith needed a movement speed buff along with the invisibility, and the "afterpiece antidote" seems incredibly underwhelming and not helpful. the reload speed buff is nice though. I'm sorry for ranting, I just feel like I have lost hope for this game at this point. I love this game, I really do, and seeing it go the route its going makes me so sad.

The devs suck dude! You should be like me and Join the idgaf club and play something else. This game isnt worth it buddy. Not spending another dime on this shat

  • Garauntee if they made pro killer comments more often and took tbagging away this game would lose so many survivor mains. **** this game. Ive wasted too much of my time and energy on it for nothing to show for it. This game is so badly put together after 4 years, they still dont have leaderboards...oh well theyd probably screw it up somehow and it would go unchanged for 2 years

  • @Antrapace said:

This was said towards the very end of the newly released dev files by Guillaume, a game developer...

This is why ive grown to hate the devs and their game/community. They say these things tryiny to be funny but they come off as sounding dumb. Honestly **** the dev ethan. They need to get rid of him

  • Its the devs dude! Theyve been letting people get away with cancerous behavior for 4 years! Imagine ignoring your literal best player base and letting the trolls and bullies run rampant. Not a good look. Its why ive taken many breaks from this game. Its simply not fun anymore for me

  • @QwQw said:

After getting three bully squads today it's safe to say I will be taking a long break from this game for the foreseeable future. So my question is, why?

Does it bring you satisfaction to humiliate and ridicule others? You don't know what the killer is going through. They could be playing this game to escape from what is going on in their life, but you don't care. Do even the realize the killer is an actual person? Or do you see them as a bot you can bully to no end?

The harassment doesn't even end after the game is over. Because you feel the need to berate them through the end game chat or in messages.

As Marguerite would say, "Are you ignorant? Or is it that you just don't care?"

Dude play hunt showdown. The devs there actually listen to their community and theres little to no toxicity. Well therre cant be any from the enemy if you put a bullet in them lol. The game is so dope and did for me what dbd did for me the first time i played it. Dbd is dead in my opinion. Its been the same game for 4 years and the devs here play us for fools drip feeding bad content. Im over it lol. I just come back to see if the community changes every couple months or so. Spoilers it hasnt. Still full of adult children

  • @Harrington said:

I'm not sure how to feel about it right now because moris have been rendered basically useless and I don't know if I should spend blood points on them.

People still use moris? As a killer they make the game boring and as survivor seeing a mori makes it instantly unfun. I say just get rid of them and make a better gameplay design. But i know they wont. They cant. Theyve already proven they suck at game design lol

  • @Zaytex said:

As someone who mains Bubba and Demogorgon, I firmly believe they are the most underestimated killers in the game.

As for Bubba, people underestimate just how lethal his chainsaw is. You can't loop it anymore since his rework and have to drop the pallet, or you just die. He punishes survivors who stick together and is obviously amazing at patrolling or camping. I think people have yet to realise how strong he is since his rework.

Demogorgon is often seen as a trash killer and I am quite stern on defending this cute boi. He has insane map presence with his portals, that offer awareness of where the survivors are (killer instinct, placed near gens) and can be a slow-down mechanic (12-15 seconds to cleanse a portal) if survivors cleanse. If they do not cleanse, he gets even better mobility, but cleansing can be countered by placing two portals at the gen (one active only) and prioritising defending particular gens. His shred is a strong anti-loop tool, destroys a lot of structures and is only unusable at very circular loops. He has everything a killer needs to be good, but seems to be slept on for some reason?

    Thoughts?

Legion is my go to after losing my 3rd game as trapper lol

I haven't watched anything since the ptb nor have i came up with all my counter arguments from others, everything is from my experience with and against the twins.

I have literally been joining KYF lobbies to see what others think of him and so i can test out some of my own strats and the conclusion i have is that they are weak when the survivors play well and know what to do in situations against the twins.

Survivors playing well will do that to any killer besides maybe pc nurse lol.

that is not true dude take a look at the ptb, it is NOT worth not having a power for just 1 survivor to be injured unable to do gens but still do saves.

that kind of logic is how old freddy won games, by having at least 3 survivors asleep and at least 50% less repair speed across the board while occasionally getting an injure when a survivor enters dream world, charlotte is weaker than that ffs and she definitely doesn't have that kind of antigen with just victor.

Also freddy juggled survivors constantly keeping survivors asleep because if you forgot getting a skill check was way less likely so it was hard to wake up. the twins also try to juggle survivors but she can't do it better than old freddy.

Ive Done it myself dude. Why are you talking about the ptb? Its released already. Strategies have been formed. Think for yourself instead of just watching videos on the ptb. Be somebody

  • @AChaoticKiller said:

that is if you can get them injured and slugged, literally the counter to your play style is not taking victor off and keeping your team healed, good luck slugging if even one of them has wglf or unbreakable.

Even in games where i didn't get any bugs or noticeable ones that affected game play the survivors destroy me by just playing well they didn't even need to crush victor or hold him hostage they just did the usual of always have 2 on a gen and keep everyone healed.

If they want to leave victor on them let them, its a 3v1 at that point and actively go for the rest. So easy. Its almost always worse for the survivors to keep victor on. Playing killer is about adapting at this point. The devs have already shown their survivor bias earlier this year with the doc changes and how they worded the notes in terms of wanting survivors to have fun

  • I thought survivors cant crawl out the gates anymore

  • @zackdaylight said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1779498#Comment_1779498

But if they down you at a pallet and then pick you up you won’t be able to get to 25% wiggle progression to activate the perk. Even if they leave you slugged there. So no, it’s not stronger than DS

Just run both like a god. Power struggle ds unbreakable and any exhaustion perk/spine chill.

  • @piggypablo said:

To test this theory out, I ran Windows of Opportunity in the last 10 matches and dropped every pallet on the map. In only 2 of the games did the killer bother to break the pallets. The other games they just ignored the pallets, knowing they could catch up easily. It's rare to pull off a pallet stun, unless you are going against a baby killer. This begs the question, why are pallets in the game at all? I propose a nerf to bloodlust or an increase in movement speed to survivors/decrease in speed to killers.

Yeah keep nerfing killers so we can all be done with this game. Good idea genius

We all saw the posts, the "I'm not playing Dead By Daylight This Weekend As A Killer Main", "Bloodlust is needed" etc etc. So I would like to pose some questions to those who have been experimenting with it...

    1. Was it really as bad as you thought?
    2. Is it a mechanic that you think could be changed now due to the state of the game?
    3. How would you change it?
    4. And finally, how was your week? :)

They Keep everything to benefit new and experienced survivors while killers routinely get shafted. Experienced or not. Bloodlust is needed. Just another reason why these guys need to fire their balance team and get the fog whisperers in there to get their honest thoughts on the state of the game

Not really. You can just turn off the endgame chat. You can turn comments on your profile off or set it to private. I haven't played on xbox in a minute but im sure there's probably some way to disable incoming messages from random people.

Me? I think the salty comments are funny. I never complain about the killer when im playing survivor, nor do I DC, which is why the constant DCs and super salty survivor comments when I play killer make me laugh. Bunch of whiny crybabies.

You cant turn off chat on xbox. Theyre the worst survivors on there because theyre able to spam you before the march is even over with party invites and messages, potentially ruining your experience because of their poot sportsmanship. I just wish they werent allowed to see your gamertag until the match is completely over

  • @HittingOnHook said:

I talk from experience when my lil sister said "no, no, what are you doing kicking a baby?" even when he is a killer

He is Charlotte's brother so what? he still looks like a "baby" and a survivor kicking him seems too much!

Devs try to lessen the fact of a "kicked" baby with the "crushed" terminology lmao

This is a horror game snowflake! #########? Lol people get chainsawed, split in the head by an axe with the huntress mori, get their tongues ripped out before getting pummeled by a club, hung on meat hooks but youre tripping over a virtual deformed killer baby getting smashed? He comes back to life....its not like youre killing him for good

  • Stop. This is a horror game. Silly goose

  • @MeltingPenguins said:

I'm not judging things, but having this happen in about every other match I really have to ask: Who thought that a good idea?

I've never seen it with Billy, but with Bubba it's a regular occurrence that he'll chainsaw into a group of survivors (upon unhooking or healing) and insta down everyone within a certain radius.

I've seen groups of 2 and 3 go down, and heard tales of all survivors falling in one attack.

How is that not a broken mechanic? His attacks cooldown is irrelevant if no one can run anymore.

first of all what rank are you? cant be high if its happening every other time you go against him lol. should never happen to be honest. Use the environment to your advantage. youre more nimble than every killer. you can change directions on a whim. stick near windows if youre healthy. Just try to get better at making reads. Yeah i never see that happen at rank 1 unless the survivor makes a bad save, but thats the survivors fault ,not the killers

  • @Flawless_ said:

So basically since this combo is so prevalent I'm forced to always equip Small Game or DH. So in addition to being very oppressive you have no choice but to bring a totem perk every game if you're solo Q plus DS since everyone tunnels like crazy lately...that's some great balancing right there.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1724833#Comment_1724833

You're telling me that every time you run this build survivors complete most if not all gens and two or more of them escape? Come on man. Unless you're swf most solo Q games are pulling teeth agains this combo + high mobility killer and everyone here knows that but doesn't like to admit it's extremely easy to win with these perks. Even if they're cleansed relatively early you will have enough momentum to carry a win if you have one braincell.

If thats the case its about time we get a strong build that survivors have to adapt to. Im tired of killers always having to adapt while survivors have been playing the same game with the same busted perks for 4 years

I'll start with what I want:

    1. A month or two without DLCs or content for you to fix as much BUGS as you possibly can.
    2. Listen to people and what they want, instead of focusing on RECOLOR SKINS work on changingthings and adding killers and characters people have been asking for years, for example the Werewolf, reworking keys and moris
    3. Pay attention to killer's needs, I'm saying this as a rank 1 survivor, they need attention, almost no one wants to play killer and new players get discouraged cause of it.
    4. Keep reworking maps, we need that.
    5. Matchmaking needs to be adressed, too many unfair games where I, as rank 1 killer, face yellow or grey ranks...
    6. Give us worked skins, not recolors... For example, the Minotaur skin for Oni is AMAZING, but where are the bull noises or new animations for it? It can be done, take female Legion as an example.

Feel free to add anything you'd like to ask the Devs for. Remember that upvoting this thread and/or commenting on it can get the Devs attention

I Mean its not like the default oni sound doesn't fit. Sounds fine with kni noises. I can see why its not a priority but yes I'd like them to focus on balance before graphics

Seems like my next vacay from Dbd is fast approaching.

They keep buffing maps for survivors with breakable walls and the new "killer shack" is totally survivor sided even more. One of the new worst tiles is on suffocation pit, one of my fave maps and they fixed the main issue by adding a door next to the ramp but for some reason every tile has a pallet or window near a breakable wall or a breakable wall in a completely nonsensical location that will grant almost no value to a killer who kicks it

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/198691/0-16-gens-done-on-average-per-match-new-stats-are-likely-wrong

None of those stat blocks really mean a whole lot without context behind them and without the criteria for counting them, cause this would mean that out of 10 games played in dbd only 1 and a half gen are done which just shouldn't be possible under normal criteria since anybody above rank 15 will know that at least 1 gen will likely pop before your second hook minimum.

    @Crythor said:

The new stats posted by BHVR show that on average 0.16 gens are done per match. The stats are likely wrong, which means, that the kill stats are likely wrong too.

Why do i post this? Because people will now keep sharing the likely wrong stats and should know that the stats dont make sense.

How do i come to 0.16 gens on average?:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1687393#Comment_1687393

50627522 survivors died, 6765882 escaped. Total number of survivors is 57393404.

57393404 divided by 4 (because there are 4 survivors per game) now you have the number of games: 14348351

2272978 generators were repaired, source: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1687378#Comment_1687378

Now take the number of generators that were repaired 2272978 and divide it by the number of games 14348351

Now you get 0.158413.... so roughly 0.16 generators beeing repaired per game.

This dosent look like their stats are correct.

p.s. Thanks to @Madjura for first showing me the numbers.

Their Problem is that they include all ranks and so they might be right but just skewed because of bad players. I want to see their actual playerbase and not the survivors who hide in the corner of the map for 90% of the match

  • camping is not bad unless you're leatherface with 5 gens. But the problem is, surviors call everything camping. Imagine if killers had such overused terms that survivors had to hear after every match.... lol

Found a survivor less than 20 seconds into the game, and finished the chase in less than a minute. Yet, three gens popped by the time I got the survivor hooked and I would be able to use PGTW. In the end, I only managed to net one kill using NOED, and that was only because the person let go on first hook. Furthermore, in the endgame chat, I was flamed on all sides by this obvious swf for using NOED, despite them all using tier 3 meta perk builds. I was also accused of tunneling, even though all four of them were running near identical Claudette cosmetics. Three of them had brought maxed out toolboxes, one of which with a BNP.

At this point, why even try to play? The game is in a horrible state right now.

1 You weren't even pressuring gens.

    2 the claudette seemed bad

    3 youre on Ormond

4 clown has no map pressure to begin with only tile pressure

My advice run discordance or a gen slowdown perk and focus gens. If a survivot seems strong and good at wasting time, get them to drop a pallet or 2 and leave immediately to pressure gens. Prob the hardest thing about this game is knowing when to not chase. Just picked up blight recently and omg he has extreme map pressure with tinkerer. Its a perk that tells you which gens are being worked on for crying out loud! How is it not meta? As soon as you hear it notify you. Immediately run to the gen. Hillbilly is probably 10x more terrifying than blight and does everything blight does and more. Im going to try billy when I get home with BBQ, tinkerer , ruin and undying. If not ruin undying then discordance and noed. Havent figured out which perk combo is stronger yet. Prob ruin undying. It'll get nerfed into the ground soon though. Its better than old ruin.

  • @Golden_spider said:

Possibly due to the fact it's a perk for a Licensed Character so they can't just immediately go messing with it (excluding the chance it has a bug/glitch associated with it) without some sort of approval.

Thats not the case at all. Bbq, play with your food, save the best for last, probably way more but im on mobile and am too lazy to try to find more examples. Point is they all got nerfed. Not to mention liscenced killers, remember freddy? Because I do

  • @Lazerboy88 said:

Nah, you should be punished for missing.

no you shouldn't lol. At least not that harshly. The perk already has steep requirements and there are 4 survivors with 4 perks each.

  • @Moundshroud said:

I prefer Surveillance to Discordance. If you keep solid Gen-Pressure up, always pushing them off Generators, Ruin kicks in and you get immediate color-coding of what is regressing and what suddenly stops regressing. It doesn't require there to be two people on the Gen.

I actually think discordance is the all around better perk. It shows the location of 2 survivors a lot of time at spawn or shortly after spawn and with legion, you always want groups.

You can't just run that build on every killer you have. Plague or Hag wouldn't really be benefited from that kind of perks.

But overall it's a very simple build that works well on most killers.

Yeah you can. Plague actually wrecks with this build and hag can run any build she wants and still have a chance.

    Nothing special about your build.

4 out of 5 perks you suggested are the current meta.

    Thanks buddy move along.

inb4 I'm all in for strong killer perks but I, for one, feel like certain combos are straight OP at the moment.

also inb4 this is not against the Ruin change specifically, but rather how Undying combos will negatively affect the amount of fun in the game. As a survivor because it has the potential to be extremely oppressive. AS a killer, because it is completely rng based so essentially if they find Undying first you lost your build and possibly the game.

So basically the devs did a full 180 on the fun premise and made totems twice as hard to find. It's already a pain in the neck when these potato teammates can't find Ruin (or any other hex totem) once, and now you expect people to do it 2, maybe 3 times?? RIP solo queue, now on half of the games no gens will ever get done and when they do 3 people will be on death hook. Expect more DCs and people killing themselves once Devour Hope kicks in. More braindead NOED killers? Woohoo sounds like a blast. How is that fun in any way especially for solo players?

I honestly don't understand Behaviour's logic with these new perks. Yeah they're really strong, great but at what cost? Hopefully they'll balance things out once the new chapter goes live unless they want their player numbers to keep nosediving like they did this month.

    Here we go

As an Evil Dead fan, I was excited to see Ash Williams added to a console video game after so long.

The last time we saw him on a console game was back in 2005 when Evil Dead Regeneration came out.

However, I personally feel the Evil Dead content featured in DbD is lacking.

Similar to how content with LeatherFace (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre) and GhostFace (Scream) are lacking.

Though one could argue that since DbD's Ghostface isn't technically any of the killers from the Scream films, therefore there is no need for an iconic survivor or location from the franchise, characters like LeatherFace and Ash have plenty of content from their respective franchises that could've easily been used for DbD.

I personally feel as a hardcore fan of The Evil Dead franchise, that the ball was slightly dropped with bringing in Ash vs Evil Dead (AvED) content.

Now, I do understand that perhaps somethings weren't possible due to licensing issues, or because the powers that be behind the franchise may not want anything that can clash with the upcoming video game that they're working on, but assuming that the content that could very easily have been implemented into the game is accessible and unrestricted, then I fail to see why certain things weren't added to the "chapter".

I feel Ash Williams and AVED content as a whole was heavily shafted in comparison to not only just the original characters and content of DBD, but even in comparison to other licensed characters/properties/chapters.

AVED got a itty-bitty little trailer that as an announcement trailer goes, was awesome: It featured Bruce Campbell himself doing what he does as an entertainer, and showed a bit of Ash in the game. but that's all we got. We never got any other footage showing Ash in the game doing anything other than just running around, being on a hook, and fixing a gen. We never got a spotlight trailer showing off who he is as a character and what his perks are (don't even get me started on Mettle of Man getting nerfed) and as far as I know you can't even find the DbD rock cover song used in the announcement trailer.

And then on top of that there's a typo in his bio and one of his outfits is mislabeled (And to this day still have not been fixed/corrected). In his bio, the part where it mentions he sees Linda Bates (from season 2) it says "her daughter" when it should say "his daughter", since Ash is the one who wants to know about the whereabouts of his daughter. Spoiler alert: Linda already knows what happened to her daughter...her daughter is dead.

The outfit labeled as "Value Stop" isn't even the Value Stop outfit. Despite having the "Value Stop" badge, the outfit is actually the Ashy Slashy's Hardware store outfit.

Many of the characters in the game feature changeable hairstyles, and although at first glance it may not seem like Ash has more than one, there is a specific way his hair looks in the finale that would have been cool to see added into the game with the finale outfit that was released.

No offense to anyone who works on the game, but it feels more like a team of people simply watched trailers and looked at promo pics and vids for research on what to add to the game instead of actually watching the tv show.

And I feel there are those of us fans who after having a show we loved get cancelled, were excited to see more content related to the show via a video game, only to be slightly let down.

This isn't a knock on Behaviour or any of the folks who work on the game, this is just an expression feeling dissatisfied of how my favorite horror franchise has been handled/represented in a game that I enjoy to play.

I apologize for this lengthy post but I just wanted t get this out there. I highly doubt anything can or will be chnaged, but if there's a possibility, that'd be groovy.

Her's a link to an old twitter thread of suggestions/ideas I had on possible AVED themed content that would be cool to see in the game if it were ever possible to add anything in the future such as maps, killers, other survivors, cosmetics, items, etc.

i don't want to say that but.

Console players .........not doing very well as a survivor.

And we can't really blame them.

they used to against to Console killer which nearly unplayable.

Now they need to face the PC killer .

it is like those who used to play very easy mode now playing the normal mode.

Most Console players now act like a new player in game.

    but the problem is.

in the history if survivors play badly

DEV would nerf killer to make badly survivors can win.

So it is sad to said that killer might be nerf in the near future.

The last hope for killer is the 20 MIN long que time to survivor.

Let's make sleeping bing bong boy be great again!!

are you seriously trying to predict a nerf solely based on console survivors? lmao, its not just console survivors that are bad, the majority of survivors on all platforms are terrible and dont know the best possible plays they could make. Ive seen supposedly good survivors on pc make stupid plays too. Just because console players never see a good nurse, doesnt mean that they cant adapt. Doubt theyll nerf killer, but if they do, im glad i stopped playing this game
