Survivor perks are fine as is. Where survivors have been nerfed way harder than killer is in the form of the maps. Dead zones galore, useless pallets, and breakable walls have basically made it so killers are spoonfed their 4ks. Killers refuse to learn to get better and it's killing the game.
-
I wanna know where y'all live if you're waiting 10 minutes for a lobby as survivor. NA East is poppin' at instant all day, every day.

@Jasix said:
Yeah because killers had it so rough before Undying. (eyeroll)
The problem is for the past few months a lot of killers have used Undying as a crutch to play. I don't even have Undying unlocked and still have no issues as killer.
This is the problem. Lol. The bottom 50% of killers just wanna M1 a few times, BBQ, and do it again. They refuse to get better and learn how to mindgame or apply pressure. Its sad.
-
When I see posts like this I honestly can't help but laugh now.
OP: Killers are spoonfed 4ks nowadays by the devs. Unless the killer is hysterically bad, there's no looping for 5 gens and into the exit gate. Pallets are basically non-existent on certain maps now and if they are they're stupidly unsafe. If you cannot function as a killer without ruin/undying when there's plenty of people that do just fine without it, then the problem is on you mate. :) Survivors have learned to get better, why do you refuse to do the same?

Ah, I see. You just an easy win. What is the point of going against a really bad killer? Or a really bad survivor? It is not fun. The game should be balanced, not easy for one side and difficult for the other. If you truly want to go against a F tier killer, then I am afraid this game is not for you.
You: "ThE gAmE sHoUlD bE bAlAnCeD"
Also you: Defends Freddy.

I agree with your first 2 points but if a killer is in the game then they have the right to play them. I honestly hate going against spirit more than any other killer for obvious reasons but I don't think bad about the person playing them because they are in the game so why shouldn't they play whatever killer they want to play as.
You can play the killer. I never said you can't. But you're getting teabagged for playing disgustingly OP killers by me at the exit gate if I survive. That's all.

Your last point makes no sense. I main Freddy, will you taunt me just because I want to play the killer that I love? This is unhealthy for the game.
He's insanely OP. So, yes, teabagged at the exit gate until he's nerfed back into F tier where he belongs.

I'd understand the nodding/shaking of the head, but the killer having a certain playstyle and playing the game how they WANT shouldn't end up acquiring toxicity just because you didn't agree with it.
Imo that's just really entitled, because if they added Freddy in the game as a killer then people are obviously going to play him & if you're going to get mad and be toxic about that, I'm genuinely shocked.
Camping and tunneling is an inherent abuse of killer power and unless you're stacked with meta perks (Which I don't run, because A) I don't need to and B) I find some meta combinations unfair) you're not getting that survivor off the hook without trading and even then that can get messy depending on the killer. Also keep in mind that I play solo queue most of the time which means my fat ass gotta get off my gen to check if the killer is camping or not. This wastes the time that I could be using to do gens to punish the killer for camping. And if you tunnel? Like legitimately tunneling. Not you ran back to a hook cuz you couldn't find a survivor at a gen and happened to come across the recently unhooked survivor instead of the one that did the unhooking kinda tunneling. You're honestly trash and deserve to be teabagged.
And Freddy/Spirit with Stridor are disgustingly OP and unhealthy for the game. If you play either of those when I make an effort to be conscious of perk choice...I'm teabagging you at the exit gate.

Honestly I love when a Killer nods, it's hilarious. Especially Victor or Ghost Face
There are funny nodding moments. But in my case its mostly I've looped the killer for 4 gens and they get me on a 50/50 T/L wall and start nodding like they made a god play or something. I'll return the favour at the exit gate.

only thing that'll get worse is queue time

This depends.
Did you:
1) Shake or nod your head at me?
2) Facecamp or tunnel?
3) Play Freddy or Spirit (with Stridor)?
If yes to any of the above and my team survives my ass is staying at the exit to teabag you for your toxicity. Toxicity is a two-way street. If not then I leave the match peacefully.

Ah, the old killer main pretending to be a survivor main to sound edgy bait. Killers just need to git gud m8. They're spoonfed 4ks nowadays.

I understand your frustration OP. You're kind of at that middle point in terms of hours played where the only place you can improve is in chases and that's kind of an awkward phase. But you'll get there. Just off the top of my head here are some suggestions that could help you improve your game:
1) Watch survivors on Twitch/YouTube that are leaps and bounds ahead of you. My personal recommendation is Fungoose solely because his channel is dedicated to education. Second contender for first place is Ussylis. Others I like are Ayrun/TheJRM/Tithi. And while I'm not a fan of his personality as he's kinda hypocritical there is Tru3ta1ent. The dude does know the game and is a very competent survivor and has the most content available on YouTube.
2) Learn to string tiles together for stronger loops. When running between objectives don't just watch out for the killer. Really observe the map and see what's available for you to loop on. This is very advanced looping, but you'd be surprised at how fast the killer gets agitated and leaves you alone. Especially if you refuse to give them a pallet out of it.
3) Run a build that is complementary to looping. My personal recommendation is Sprint Burst/Iron Will/Perk of your choice/Spine Chill. Sprint Burst will ensure that you are always in position and ready to go. Dead Heard is irrelevant if Bubba catches you out of position. SB won't let that happen. It counters a lot of killers. However my play style may not be your play style and therefore you could find another build that works.
4) This is probably the most useful piece advice that I can give you: Don't waste pallets ever. If a killer is going to hit you as you reach the pallet, even if you're gonna go down, just don't throw it. Ever. If you're healthy just take the hit and zoom away from the tile. Dropping a pallet unnecessarily essentially kills that tile for survivors. Instead, punish the killer for daring to hit you before the pallet is dropped. :) That tile will be used later to waste even more time by another survivor, or possibly yourself, and that killer will regret taking the M1. TRUST ME ON THIS.
5) Knowing every killer and how to counter them is imperative. I know you touched on this briefly in your post and feel like killer has an easier time learning how to loop but this isn't true. Every killer has their own way of managing loops and they also have to learn what perks each survivor has. Every single game. Just like survivors need to know i) Who the killer is and ii) what perks they have. And if you get a Spirit with stridor just do your best. She's OP and has no counter and hopefully the devs will address this one day. :(
6) Adapt to the killer as you play. Some examples: If you got a killer that constantly tries to mindgame, they will always try to mindgame. Punish them for this and just run away from the tile. It's hilarious and I absolutely love doing it. Lol. They'll sit there in a corner trying to hide their red stain and pop out only to find you're miles away or even lose you entirely. If you got a killer that plays into the loop, then just loop. This goes for you as well though. Don't be predictable. If you fake a vault once, don't do it again immediately as the killer will expect you to fake it.
I'm not the best survivor out there, and my advice is subject to criticism, but I do really well with it. Good luck! You'll get it eventually.
-
I've played a lot of survivor and I can count maybe on one hand the number of times someone has purposefully sandbagged me like that. You're probably just pissed off, but there's just no way in hell this is a common occurrence for you.
And even then, if it occurs, I don't give a ######### about the game anymore and will follow that player around and ensure they die first. :)

Survivor item: Smoke Bomb
When used, smoke is released covering a small area around the target location with a strong, thick smoke that lasts for 7 seconds. A killer that passes through it is unable to see scratch marks for the next 3 seconds.

It could be balanced, you could be slower at running, but the Killer would only be able to walk 5m before they drop you, so you'd be trickier to hook.

Oh please. Like the perk needs to be 60 ######### seconds. That has nothing to do with camping or tunneling. Neither does using it as locker bait
Good perk, bad design. Drop it to 25-30s seconds and it's anti-tunneling. Remove the use in end-gate area and locker abuse.
The devs have stated its design is not first and foremost anti-tunneling. Its an offensive perk.

For being the absolute worst teammates in DbD. Console players are always out for the team making saves and splitting up on gens. PC players are found digging through chests or killing themselves on hook cuz they got downed once.

The solution there is to just have a give up option.
Um, no. Lol. I'd much rather have teammates who are unable to kill themselves than to be able to give others the option of leaving through the hatch. Now some will argue that they'll just run to the killer and get downed again. But if they're wasting the killer's time like that its way more time for us to get gens done. I'm OK with that! Its when someone ragequits on first hook after being downed and screws over 3 other teammates with 3-4 gens left to do its infuriating.
-
As much as I love to let go of myself on last hook to give a teammate the hatch I'd MUCH rather this mechanic go as its often used to screw over your team way more often.
I support this.

Because the times it isn't trash (in other words, when you got lucky) this perk combo is too good and a lot of killers are relying on good RNG for ruin undying to win them the match.
Oh OK so it needed a nerf then.

That’s basically your entire build though. It won’t really help on weaker killers who want some chase or utility perks to secure downs in a timely fashion. And the strongest killers hardly even needed perks as it is.
You could drop Oppression if needed. Killers do just fine with corrupt/pop, myself included.

This is a generalization and a straw man.
My idea of balance is that against 2 sides being equally matched that:
- 2 survivors escape
- 2 survivors are killed.
- I was able to get at least 6 hooks
- I get a brutal killer.
- I didn't have to camp/slug/play scummy
- The game is actually fun and we remove bs from both sides.
Regardless of your personal beliefs and the devs "data" the actual evidence shows that in high level play nurse and spirit are the only viable killers, and even then just barely. Survivors get to use about 6 different perks and killers get to use about 8 as the rest are completely useless.
Dude you don't even know what a strawman is. Lol.
-
Killer mains idea of balance is a 4k every game. And if they lose its not because they were trash and didn't apply pressure it was the evil swf.
-
Hitboxes for survivors need to be made smaller to accomodate extremely unsafe pallets and insane server validation hits.
Bloodlust needs to be removed for killers that are 115.
Some killers should be buffed (Myers, Clown, Trapper, Wraith, and Ghostface come to mind...)
Some killers need to be nerfed or have a counter (Freddy/Spirit)
Deadzones should not be a thing and maps should have a maximum of 2 safe pallets outside of jungle gyms and the rest should be like those loops with the car on Springwood where its loopable but still mindgameable.
Extremely unsafe pallets shouldn't exist if they don't wanna fix hitboxes.

There's more to the game than rushing gens, if your team can last in a chase you don't even have to genrush to stomp, you can do it with normal play
Ya but I can't rely on PC survivors for that so.... :)

Using exhaustion perks to get into a looping position is exactly how you counter those types of killers.
The way those killers get you is by catching you out of position. So, you can either be observant to see the killer coming towards your gen, and sneak off to a more favorable position. Or you can be prepared to use an exhaustion perk to get yourself into position.
Even freddy has a tell when teleporting to your gen. You can either respect the tell by sneaking off, or stay and risk being hit if it isn't a bluff.
If you get caught out of position by any of those killers even after using an exhaustion perk, that is entirely your fault.
I don't disagree with you, but I think you read my post entirely wrong. Lol. I don't have an issue with these killers because I run Sprint Burst. But if those killers didn't exist, I wouldn't have to. Thus why I said if x, y, and z killers didn't exist then I wouldn't have to run SB.
-
Nah. PC definitely has the worst survivors. They're the ones that start the match digging through chests when that's the best time to rush gens. They're the teammates that all wanna be Noob3 and end up dying for it. They can't buy time for ######### and often just camp pallets wasting 'em for those that actually know how to loop. PC survs are useless and there are times where I have to turn crossplay off just to ensure I get into a lobby with good teammates.
-
When killers can't instadown, teleport across the map in seconds right to survivor objectives, and have no counter with just 1 perk Ill feel bad for running exhaustion perks.
Until then killers can follow my Sprint Burst into looping position.
-
Why would they touch Blight when Freddy/Spirit are sitting way too comfortably? What a waste of time and resources.
-
Killer: Stridor so Spirit has an actual counter.
Survivor: Object of Obsession
-
Hag is fine except for the camping component. All they need to do is just remove the ability for her to trap hooks and she's 100% balanced. A good hag can down survivors in seconds without much effort.

It's not meant to make you immune to aura reading. It lets you find out what aura abilities the killer is using so you can counter them accordingly afterwards. Too many survivors have the philosophy that they should be immune from killers rather than adapt to them .
Literally never said the perk needed to be buffed to the point of immunity. But thanks for putting words in my mouth! 3 uses without the ability to regain them is no longer viable in the current undying/ruin meta. It either needs more uses without the ability to regain them or some type of way to get them back during the match. You can blow your distortion stacks just by running past two totems and one hook state. Sure, you have knowledge, but game-depending I might not have been able to make use of the perk.
-
I'm sorry OP, but Freddy definitely needed a skill cap. The fact that BHVR let new Freddy into the game and waited over a year to really nerf him is kinda insulting to survivors. Freddy is the only killer in the game that has everything in his kit (Anti-Loop/Anti-Gen, etc...) with absolutely no consequences to bad play and no real counter.
I cannot wait for that nerf.
-

As a gay person, I disagree. Representation is absolutely not important in videogames. If you require representation to play a videogame comfortably then you have a problem. I hate to break it to you, but videogames are fantasy. You're not these characters. They're not you. And who they ######### should be just as irrelevant to you as who your co-workers #########. This is so silly that I debated even responding to it. I never said that people on DBD purposely mis-identifying characters of color was the biggest travesty in the world. If you think I'm racist I really don't care, because it's obvious you're trying to villainize me because you don't like my post. My problem with people who say Elodie is Claudette 2 is because they're literally inferring that two entirely different women of color are basically the same and look alike, which is inherently racist. As somebody who is half Egyptian myself, I would be extremely offended if somebody said I looked like another Egyptian who has almost no similarities to me. It's obvious through your post that YOU are the one who believes you're some kind of martyr, as somebody who isn't white I sincerely ask that you go back to whatever arrogant place you came from and actually see there IS a problem in the DBD with how people address characters if color in this game, as there has been since it's inception. You can be an ass to me all you want, but if you would like to infer there isn't a problem in the community or that I somehow am ignorant toward racism when I have literally gone through it myself is insane and you obviously shouldn't make assumptions about me personally on a forum website.
You're assuming that the people on this forum somehow believe that black people are less than for comparing two black women when others have expressed, including myself, that they've done it to white characters. Elodie and Claudette do have some similarities, but they are by and large two completely different people. It doesn't mean you can't compare. Nea and Kate look nothing alike but certain cosmetics draw similarities. Intent matters more here.
And heaven forbid that people think Claudette got a new skin and that it wasn't an entirely different character. I thought it was a new Claudette skin when I saw a thumbnail for the new chapter on DbD on YouTube showing Elodie from behind. As others have mentioned, Claudette has a similar hairstyle and we know Claudette is fashionably bold as per previous cosmetics so it isn't a far fetch to assume.
And literally nobody has said they're basically the same person. Nobody. If they did, they were trolling, blind, or dumb. For real. The people commenting on this thread have just said I thought it was Claudette at first or are drawing similarities. Which is something people do for everyone! People did the same for Kate when she was introduced. But nobody cared about that.
