My problem with her is as survivor, she does this glitchy walk thing where she fades in and out. I really think they should either remove that or tone it down because it makes it too easy for her to juke you. I'm all for making her power better too, but this is something I've noticed on the other side that bugs the hell outta me.Well, the Killer has no idea when it happens, and she's supposed to be a mindgaming Killer so that's kind of a moot point.

It's cause you're looking at the numbers from a non-statistics point of view, which is understandable cuz not everyone knows statistics well. What you need to consider is that each survivor has a 4% chance to kobe each kobe attempt, not just all of the first phase. To find out the real chance of kobeing, we need to consider it is 3 attempts in total. The best way to find this out is by figuring out the chance that the survivor will **NOT ** kobe. Because you have a 4% chance to kobe, you have a 96% chance to fail to each kobe. So 1st attempt, 96% chance to fail. But with the 2nd attempt, we have to keep in mind that you only get a 2nd attempt if you fail to first one, so the odds of failing your first 2 kobe attempts is .96 * .96, then you still have to count the third attempt meaning your total equation is .96 * .96 * .96. doing this gets you about 88.5% for failing all 3 tries, meaning each survivor really has an 11.5% chance to unhook themselves if they try all 3 times. This is just the base chance, including things such as luck offerings, Slippery Meat, and Up The Ante increase their chance of kobeing.
Actually I do know pretty well how statistics work, that's why I doubt the numbers.
Even if you break it down mathematically it happens way to often, especially if you see them kobe on the first or 2nd attempt. The fact that you think it matters if it's the first or second attempt in any given trial tells me you don't know how statistics work.
Using a binomial distribution, the odds of 1 or more successes with a 0.04 (4%) probability of success are around 11.5%.
Assuming that Survivors play 50 trials per day and get 3 attempts on each, that's 150 attempts, which brings P(X>=x) up to 99.78% - a near-certainty that they'll be able to get off the hook.
Are you kidding me?
That calculation is completely invalid for my point.
It doesn't matter how many matches they play per day. It is about them kobe in MY matches.
So you have to go from the amount of matches I play, not them.
And I do not play 50 matches a day and still happens regular to me. Especially in crucial situations.
And since most survivor don't even try to kobe or only once, your calculations are flawed again. No, you have to go by the matches that they play, since they're the ones rolling the dice. Once again, you confirm that you don't understand statistics, at all.
My assumptions were just that - assumptions. If you have a different set of conditions you'd like me to calculate, just say so.

YEAH! While we're at it lets make the trappers bear traps invisible and no noise when pig uses her lunge attack. Stupid survivors shouldn't be allowed to even attempt to counter play killer abilities! Nope no sir not in my balanced game. What else should we change? Ah make huntress completely silent when winding up a hatchet and make wraith 100% invisible! He should also be allowed to attack survivors while he's invisible.
I'm aware of how obnoxious my post sounds. But seriously asking to take away the main counter to her power without offering an alternative is a bit ridiculous.
The point of the Spirit is that she can mindgame Survivors with her ability. How do you mindgame when they know exactly when you're using your power and where you are going to be, especially given the fact that she moves slowly?

The ping is visible to them, but some people from countries with ######### Internet are so used to playing with heavy lag that they don't care it ruins the game for everyone else.

If you talk about Ragequit it's another problem. But DC is not Ragequit everytime.
PS4 server sucks and need to get fix.Lag spikes happen from time to time, they're unavoidable. If you DC every time you have a lag spike, you probably shouldn't play online at all.

Face camping isn't fun gaming. I don't get why killers do it, seems so boring. And for survivors Its annoying as [BAD WORD] to hang until you die. I want to play, not to be bored.Tunneling is pretty effective. I hate it too when I play survivor because many games you die so fast. You can try to prevent it by not healing up in front of the hook or hide near the hook. Like others said try not to throw yourself on gens right away but maybe scout a bit and look for totems, so you aren't the first one who gets spotted by the killer.
Killers tunnel because of getting players out of the game asap (three strikes out) and because of Mori. I did it too when playing Killer but I changed my playstyle. With Pig its fun to not tunnel but trying to baptism the survivor who unhooked (as kind of punishment). Also I unlocked Make Your Choice on all killers to motivate me chasing the unhooking survivor who has exposed status.
Face camping hasn't existed for a long time. Normal camping pays off 9 times out of 10 thanks to Survivors feeling entitled to the unhook and thus stopping all generator progress.

I don't get it: I've been playing a lot with Spirit, and I've been blinded maybe two times total, while managed to do flashlight evasion 10+ times. Not sure what bug you're referring to.
And, at any rate, lobby dodging is so undignified, same as purposefully deranking so you can play against less skilled players. Lame. The bug is that the Spirit is more susceptible to flashlights, from the Killer's PoV, although she is immune to the blind effect itself. In other words, while the player will quickly experience a white screen, the character herself will never be blinded.
-
No, I mean there was a time when flashlights could instantly blind Killers (visually, on the Killer's screen, but without the in-game effects). A fix to that wasn't a nerf to flashlights any more than a fix to hitboxes was a nerf to the Huntress.

Yes but since I play spirit, I do know how it will end.
And pls, dont tell me that the survivors take the flashlight to counter hag that nobody plays
Prior to this patch hag was one of the top played killers, especially at ranks 1-5 so flashlights were a pretty common sight. After this patch there's still Hag although way more Wraiths now so still Flashlights get a lot of use.
I have not seen a single hag since the patch yet. And I paly a lot atm due to double BP.
2 wraiths so far I believe.Dont fool yourself, you know why survivors bring those flashlights
Since patch came out i've had 15 or so hags, 20-30 Wraiths, 15-20 billy's less than 15 Nurses, 20 or so Trappers, 3 Bubba's, 15 or so Rins, 1 Doctor, 6 or so Clowns etc.
The only one fooling themself here is you, perhaps if you got to the rank 1-5 range you'd see that flashlights both before and after the patch are still being brought to face the usual killers.
No one is magically after 2 + years just now bringing flashlights into their matches just because there's a new killer out that has a bug.
For killer main backup I'll ask some people who've been here for 2+ years or so who'll tell you the same thing.
I'm not a Killer main, despite what you may believe, and my notifications are disabled.
I will say that I haven't noticed an increase in flashlight usage, and those who do use them seem oblivious to the bug/exploit, judging by how they use them.
I will also say that when insta-flashlights were a thing, there was a massive increase in flashlight use, obviously to exploit the bug. -
It's a fix with unintended consequences. Fixing the insta-blind flashlights wasn't a nerf to flashlights either.

On PC I had to deal with an Obsession who DC'd just as I was trying to use Rancor's Mori on his ass. It's such a cool animation, I dunno why Survivors DC.

And remember, I said it's PERCENTAGE based. That means if you only play a few times a month, you'll hit that threshold for a softban MUCH FASTER.That means, if you disconnect for a bad connection on your first game, you get an instant softban, because you are at 100% at once. Seems fair and userfriendly.
It's percentage-based, but over a certain period of time, just like every other percentage-based system in every other game ever.

Killer should receive as many points for the detached player as for the sacrifice. KYF is exception, otherwise players will farm points. Thus, disconnect is a way to surrender and admit defeat. Remaining survivors should receive a bonus to repairing speed and points. In addition, there is a small probability that a disconnected player will lose an item of high rarity from his stocks.KYF is only possible between people who are friends and doesn't award any points by default.

Most survivors never do anything wrong. I think they just need to be complex or otherwise troubled characters for the entity to choose them. Constant fighters more than anything.Indeed. Hope (and salt) feeds the Entity. Why would She bring in just a measly cheeseburger when She can bring in an all-you-can-eat buffet of Hope (and salt)?
-
Because the new movie was kinda bad and licensed Killers are always strictly inferior to the devs' own.
-
Bottom line is, you don't know what happened on the other player's side. You can't know, no matter how sure you think you are. I had a power outage in my city that lasted for some hours due to damage to the conductors. Had I been playing at the time, it would've looked like me purposefully disconnecting my Internet, when I was actually freaking out about the damage to my PC (my extension cord fried itself, thankfully, which saved my PC - may the extension cord rest in peace in extension cord Heaven).
Furthermore, I don't think there's even a system in place to return offerings, add-ons, and other items. Even if there is, can you imagine the work they'd have to do to restore something so irrelevant as offerings, items, and add-ons?
Loss of progress means people lose their entire save files. Your case is a pain in the ass, but it's not game-breaking. Get more BP, buy those again.
Everyone's had loss of items, we all just deal with it. Does that make it right? No, but the fact is, add-ons, offerings, and items are plentiful, and the time you waste sending a support ticket could be better spent playing the game. -

Granted he's still at 105% at level 1, but the basic principal is there. And that's why Michael feels good to play as and against.
That's the sort of gameplay all killers need. Otherwise, we're just instantly rewarding players for selecting to be killer. They technically don't have to use abilities to win.
That's why the Nurse is the pinnacle of DbD Killer design. Her power is punishing when you fail, but rewarding when you use it properly (with the appropriate drawbacks). A Nurse's potential is primarily determined by the skill level of all players involved.
im a nurse main brother but, she is the reason that dbd has balance issues, but she can be punished for missing a hit but landing isnt a punishment, and her perks punish survivors for being aultruistic, so i have always loved her
Landing a hit with her base kit means you were better than the Survivor you hit. That's what I mean when I say her potential is primarily determined by all players involved (Killer and Survivor).

The reward for playing the PTB comes in the form of fewer bugs making it to the live version. This would just kill the live build, and would be a pain in the ass to code. Besides, if exploits are found, it'd make it unfair to the console players and anyone else who didn't/couldn't play the PTB.
