@Orion But I am not talking about punishment. I'm talking about precautionary measures (in terms of information) to help players make the right decision.
The filter (and chat-ban) is not about correcting the wrong-doers, but to protect the other players.
Everyone knows about laws (i.e.: they have information), police, and sentences. They still commit crimes. The same principle applies here.
And come on, do you really think people don't know that sending death threats isn't OK? They just don't care because they don't think anything will happen to them (see the link I gave you).

@Orion Source on that please. I've studied some behavioural science and this doesn't resonate with what I have read.
Deter would-be criminals by using scientific evidence about human behavior and perceptions about the costs, risks and rewards of crime.Seriously, just think about it for a second. If punishment worked as a deterrent, why are there so many prisoners per capita in the USA, which boasts ######### like Guantanamo Bay?

@miaasma This is a great feature indeed, but I stand by my point that the system is reactive, rather than proactive. If you engage the players directly with the guidelines and potential consequences, at least they know where BHVR draws the line before walking over it. This could make players think twice before abusing the communication.
Research shows that neither the severity nor the knowledge of punishment serve as deterrents to crime. Only the perception that you'll get caught does. I'm guessing breaking a game's rules follows more or less the same trend.
-
@kamisen said:
Tanks for the advice! I already knew about the collapsing feature. This doesn't really address the core issue, though.
If BHVRs stance on bad behavior is more known from inside of the game, it could make post-game harassment less frequent. Today there are no readily available guidelines unless you actually visit the forums.
Just report and ignore. Report and ignore. Either they'll realize that being ######### is neither funny nor socially acceptable, or they'll move on to another game that will ban them as well.
-
Also prevents loss of progress in case you don't get enough BP to level up and decide to close the game.
If your PC is slowed by this, you need to upgrade, period.

Total area of the screen is 100%.
Middle of the screen is a line - this serves as a reference point.
They increased the detection area by 4% on the left side of the line, then another 4% on the right side of the line, for a total of 8%.
If "N" is the area that does not allow for detection, "Y" is the area that does, and "|" is the middle:
[NNNNNNNNNY|YNNNNNNNNN] (original, there are 20 "slots", so each "slot" is 5%)
[NNNNNNNNYY|YNNNNNNNNN] (5% increase in area, but only on the left side of the screen)
[NNNNNNNNYY|YYNNNNNNNN] (5% increase in area, this time on the right side of the screen, for a total of a 10% increase)
Is that clear enough?

@SkerpiTwitch said:
Does that sound logic to you?
No, but it does sound logical. I'm not sure what logic sounds like, but since you can perform meaningless and skilless tasks ad infinitum for points (see the basement example someone else provided), it's logical that points should not be a measure of skill.

Just because you personally don't use that add-on a lot doesn't mean others do not.
If people are complaining about it, they must face it a lot.
Not really, no. If they were facing it that much, they'd take a perk to help them counter it. When I suggested it, however, the response was basically "Why would I take that perk to counter this one thing?". To me, that says they're not facing it nearly as often as they claim.

If the killer leaves you alone for 60 seconds, then comes for you, that's not tunneling.

Spine Chill doesn't tell you where the killer is coming from. Premonition does (hence its cooldown). I prefer Premonition.

Doctor doesn't get slowed anymore when changing modes, they changed that a long time ago.
Doesn't get slowed beyond 110%, no, but he is slowed to 110% when switching from punishment to treatment, since his movement speed is altered from 115% to 110%. But I admit, that could've been worded better.

In what way is OP's reasoning faulty, given that the Doctor is slower in Treatment Mode and slows while changing modes?

I've seen you in a fair amount of threads about Spirit Beads and people absolutely sure that grass moves and using that as a counter argument as to why they shouldn't be changed.
"Because it has counters".
Then grass and corn should move as she moves through them while phase walking.
-
In case anyone needs video proof: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SebFz5aro5I
You can see the Spirit is Phase Walking through the grass, which doesn't move.
-
@not_Queen Can you confirm anything about this?

This is some serious Mandela effect ######### going on here.
-
Bill wasn't meant to be a PC exclusive, it's just that Valve didn't want him on console, for whatever reason. Also, more exclusive characters are bad for the game.

I distinctly remember seeing grass move when she phased through it. Maybe it was a bug they fixed and forgot to mention?

They should take away bloodpoints from killers that camp who are not engaged in a chase at the hook. Also, it would be negated if the gen number to repair is below 3 and they are near the hook. Nothing you can do about that.
camping is what it is ... but killers shouldn’t be rewarded for it. I mean we get penalized if we don’t get two off the hook. Hit them too.
The killer is doing nothing for two minutes. That's the penalty.

Samination here. The Ghostface Parody from a year ago was going to be a spin-off series where I brought in other licensed killers such as Chucky, Jason, etc. Sadly, it didn't do very well and was ignored by the developers so I dropped the idea. Ghostface (and Jason mind you) was added to the Killers Meeting ever since. There was a gag when Legion was introduced that he was their Ghostface knockoff, which I believe he was. Much like Hillbilly was their Leatherface knockoff until they actually added Leatherface.
Regardless, Ghostface will be added back in the next parody.
@samination I think I speak for everyone when I say this... Next parody when?

I literally just didn't understand what you meant. But yes, that's still realistic. You can move your legs while falling as if you're walking down invisible stairs. In fact, similar acts are usually featured in performances.

The Demogorgan isn't the result of an genetic experiment. It's orgins are unknown other then it's presumed to be an alien species that has been enslaved by an extra-dimensional powerful being known as the Mind Flayer.
Hell now that I think about it, the Mind Flayer and DbD's Entity are very similar.
I know. I watched Stranger Things too. I meant it looks like it.

Correct, because as I just explained, the concept of death does not apply to the Entity's Realm, but the standard laws of physics seem to apply.
Not sure why this is hard to understand.
It's really not hard to understand. The Entity's realms has certain rules, one of them being Newtonian mechanics, but they're not always valid, which makes no sense.

So let's start with APPLYING the standard laws of physic
That is how physics works. Water isn't magical, stuff doesn't disappear if you wash it out with water. Look up diffusion.

No, legit, not in this case. When a general consensus is in agreement on a particular thing, it becomes a factual problem. Stop, you're not going to win this one.
So tell me, how many humans must agree on something before reality shifts and incorporates those opinions of beings who are less than specks of specks of dust in the universe into factual statements? How many before the laws of logic and reasoning cease to apply?
-

Not in this case, sir. The community has spoken.
Yes in this case. The laws of logic and reasoning don't cease to apply just because you want them to. Reality doesn't shift in response to human opinion.

Opinion becomes truth when it's evident that the majority feels the same way.
Argumentum ad populum is a fallacy. Opinions, by definition, cannot be objective, and they certainly don't become truth if enough people have them.

purely opinion, they are still by far one of my favorite killers, and while this echo chamber of a forum that contains under 10% of the player base doesnt indicate it, if you actually pay attention to some of the less toxic streamers, and just the game in general, they are pretty popular overall. I didnt even like them before, because of the playstyle they encouraged, but now that thats been removed, and experienced legions focus more on the pressure playstyle, all is well.
"Annoying to go against" is also purely opinion, but you had no problem expressing it as an absolute truth.

it literally was, the thing that was adressed, was their insane ability to just tunnel and chase down a singular survivor. Their mods need to be fixed, other than that, they are in a pretty good spot, and see pretty regular play at high ranks.
Unfortunately, they also addressed what made the Legion fun to play as. And by "addressed", I mean they nerfed every single thing that made the Legion fun to play as.

Despite what some people may say, DCing is bannable. The bans for DCing are handled automatically, reports do nothing to expedite the process. However, the threshold seems to be fairly high. It will be lowered once dedicated servers come around.
-
On the one hand, there is a sort of precedence for this with the Shape at EWI. On the other hand, the Shape has a fluorescent mask that makes him very visible, whereas the Pig actually becomes somewhat stealthy when crouched. I'd say put this in a PTB and see how it goes.

What I mean by that is, if they don't come to rescue you that could mean the killer could be around you, looking for other survivors while they see you're flapping 3 times at a time, they know you want to waste his time, meaning they can continue doing gens
That's what spamming the interaction already means - don't unhook. The "why" is irrelevant, as long as people actually follow the instructions.
Again, there's no need to complicate this. Either it's safe to unhook or it's not. If it is, they should come to unhook. If it's not, they shouldn't and should instead work on generators.
-
@SirPiggy said:
We should add more tho like double flap triple flap, double could mean camper and triple could mean "don't rescue me"
If you want to be sacrificed, you can just attempt the unhooks and then let yourself die. There's no need to complicate things.
-
That's already a thing. Spamming the unhook interaction means the killer is near, doing nothing means the killer is far.

Strange how you don't include this. Sure you did.
Dude, if I know people opened threads about having been banned, why do you doubt that I also knew those results existed?
See, this is why the devs don't usually respond to threads like this. Even if they were to come in here and tell you a number, you'd just doubt its veracity. What's the point of talking to someone like that?

Find a single instance of someone getting banned on DBD console and mentioning it on the internet. I have never seen this ONCE and been a DBD console player as my main game since long before console bans got announced.
I will gladly be wrong about this but I don't think there is. They have the ABILITY to do it and simply don't. Either way if there is a chance somehow 2% of deserving bans actually got handed out. They need to up it because people are without a doubt unafraid to DC match after match after match to rank back to 15.
It took me 5 seconds to find the search terms that would produce the results I know exist. The rest is up to you.
I'm going to play some video games.

Maybe on page 20? I haven't heard of anyone unremarkable actually getting banned on console. Bing or google Dead By Daylight banned on console. Only thing that comes up is announcements or speculation on whether or not is real.
Search "i was banned" dead by daylight, with quotes around "i was banned". Enjoy.

I doubt there is anything you haven't seen here Orion....
I have never heard of anyone anywhere complaining about getting banned on DBD console. Only speculation from other players on whether or not the bans even happen outside of some MASSIVE amount of DCs. The other players in the lobby of the deranking killer? Same speculation.
There's plenty I haven't seen, trust me.
Now you have. Many people, not just myself, have seen (hilarious) complaint threads about people who were banned. Everything from "It was my brother/sister/mother/father/cousin/dog" to "OK maybe I did it, but I should still be unbanned".
But hey, don't take my word for it. Google exists, you know.
-
Ping, lag, and latency are all the same thing. It's the time it takes for the information to travel from one computer or server to another computer or server. It has nothing to do with connection quality or speed, it's not "the killer's ping", it is an unavoidable fact of internet connections brought about by the laws of physics.
-

Exactly. I dont think I've ever seen a ban topic let alone one for console DCs
I have. Several, in fact. However, if you were to look at the rules, you'd see there's one against discussing bans on the forum. Now why do you suppose those threads don't stay visible for very long?

Easiest would be Nurse, Huntress, and Spirit (I play on PC, just FYI). Hardest would probably be the Plague.
