  • So happy more people are playing different games and having a great time.

I'm not too familiar with .hack games but I've heard that they were a lot of fun.

Recently I was playing silent hill 2-3 on my ps2 as well.

I forgot that playing against a rank 1 nurse and dying within the first 2 minutes of the game is easy mode.

Killer isn't any harder than survivor and in fact, solo survivor is actually harder than killer as killers can fight back while you can't against stupid teammates.

Survivors do not get enough BP. Thats a fact. Anyone saying "lol survivor is easy mode" has either never played survivor or has only played in rank 20 lobbies.

This is a 2021 thread, over a 4 month old thread.

  • Honestly, old billy, basekit huntress, basekit blight are probably the most balanced killers imo.

  • I mean I love facing them except 1 of my top 3 killers.

I mainly play billy, oni and trickster, you can deduce who I hate vs from those 3 I play.

When I play against billy and oni, I can see what they are doing and will do, if they don't down me I can tell them why and stuff how they can counter the counter.

  • There are killers like myself that will try their hardest to have fun and play normal not tunneling no camping etc, we try to play for fun, but if we do not try and go down MMR we will play against newer survivors and then they won't have a great time then they will play against newer killers, rinse and repeat.

Idc about MMR anymore, we all know BHVR won't do ######### to it so it is reducing the fun overall because of consequences.

I play as either double engravings billy or 1 engravings and whatever or double steering, since I don't use slowdowns I can lose (though I haven't still usually 3-4k) it stopped being fun.

This "party" game wants to become a comp game but heavy RNG games should NEVER have a real comp scene only private comp scenes.

  • Screenshot_20211210-023648.jpg

Then we have these kind of survivors, maybe your region is nice but in central servers (maybe East because of streamers I've played against) are real toxic survivors, not the teabag flashlight spam but the kind that threaten your life in endgame chat and hope everyone in your family dies because they died in a videogame.

The difference is that, for me since I usually play at night time (12 a.m CT to 3ish a.m) I get these kind of players.

  • Yes, follow Cote's advice, go play something else, and I'm already 9 hours into it, mounts are OP af, weapons are decent, screw birds (in game) they are the most annoying things out there.

...that's absolutely ascended. DHing an ability that can't down them. The absolute state of survivor play...

Yeah I feel horrible for solo survivors that have to deal with that, like I'm used to seeing that but imagine yourself being the teammate that gets to see that.

  • I had teammates with 1k hours who were dead harding against feral frenzy, like......bruh you can play killer and learn what they can do so when you play survivor you can know better.

    Godspeed.

I have to wait for the ps5 release which is in 6 hours.

I hate the xbox commands so I didn't buy it on pc so here I am waiting for the PS release.

Best of luck in the game.

I have been playing dbd since the beginning of february now. I am almost iridescent 1 on killer, which I main for 80% of my games playing pyramid head, trickster, and pig. I basically only play survivor for dailies or if I have friends that want to join.

Let me explain some things in detail:

    1. I do not facecamp. Facecamping is bad strategy. It gives the other 3 survivors tons of free time to do gens and find my totems.
    2. I DO tunnel. I tunnel A LOT. If I hook someone, go check a couple of gens, then get the unhook notification, I am going to chase them both down and then choose to hit the person who is injured. Most of the time, that is the person who was just unhooked. If both are injured, I'll hit whoever is closest.
    3. If there are only 1 or 2 gens to go and I have someone on second hook, I'm not leaving. I will not stand in front of them without moving, but I'm not leaving the area. Can you convince me that there is a better play than this?
    4. If I am leaving the area to patrol gens after scoring a hook and I see someone lurking for the save, I am no longer leaving. As pyramid I can get an easy punishment of the damned collateral. With pig I can stealth around the hook and get an easy grab. That's not camping, that's the consequence of bad survivor play.
    5. If I am chasing an injured player who has been unhooked, I will completely ignore healthy survivors that are clicking flashlights or trying to block me until I down the injured survivor. If someone is actually impeding my progress by standing directly on me, I'll take the free hit. But as soon as I take that free hit I am back to chasing the original, hook stated survivor.
    6. If I am up against a team running a sabotage/flashlight save strategy, I will leave people slugged all over the place until the flashlight or toolbox holder is out of commission. Why would I not, if it just removes the effectiveness of the items that were brought? Yes, unbreakable is a risk, but I rarely see more than one person running it at a time recently. It's usually DH BT DS and then either Iron will or CoH.
    7. In conclusion, as killer every decision you make takes time. Your time is worth 4X more than a survivor's time. But kicking one player from the game as soon as possible knocks that value down to 3X. Which makes it easier to knock down to 2X. And so on, this is how the killer wins. In my eyes, this is efficient gameplay.
    8. Perks like devour hope, BBQ, and make your choice incentivize a more run and gun playstyle away from your hooks. I know that they exist, but I'm not here to farm bloodpoints with BBQ. I am here to hit rank 1 ASAP

I will await your responses, as playing like this gives me consistent 3 and 4ks, and consistent elo and mmr boosts.

I'm not a survivor main but I don't see flaws in your tactics unless you want to massively improve as a killer.

But since your goal is to hit rank 1 yeah, no a single flaw, I guess people ######### talking you but I mean that happens extremely often these days.

  • A health chapter, also a working MMR that rewards skill rather than kills/escapes.

But nah, in this hockey game we see goals rather than seeing skilled players.

  • Do, change your controller sens to 100% if you are on pc and play with m&k, do try to curve most tiles even if you miss, stay away from addons like lopro, mother's helpers, start using engravings EVERY match even if you are using yellow.

Unsure what else to tell you when Idk what you are trying to focus on besides curves.

Not much but I have about 2.5k hours on him, feel free to ask for tips or advice, I will answer when I can.

Facecamping is the optimal strategy most of the time, like it or not. Unless you think tourney players are bad at the game?

Because dbd is a competitive game right? A game that is balanced for both sides right? A game with RNG should not have a comp scene "but the swish tourney" yeah what about it? They knew what they were going to, casual gamers are only playing for fun/hang out with friends etc.

And when did I say that people in that tourney were bad? People that play "comp dbd" play to win not to have fun.

  • Without being rude, one of the problems I see is that some killers aren't as good as they think they are, nothing wrong with being bad in a videogame but they will never improve if all certain killers do is facecamp.

Another problem that I see for survivors is these days, DS is a must because of the relentless tunnel.

  • "you are bronze" because ranks matters or what color they are with the new ranks.

I forgot how entitled the dbd community can be.

"You can't use noed but I can use 2 second chance perks!1!1!1"

Oh yeah btw, you can get the person who told you to end your life banned, I believe it was @Rizzo90 who said that is unacceptable to say and that they get punished.

Sorry you had to go through stuff like that bud people like that shouldn't even be playing online games and stuff like that is extremely pathetic, hopefully you reported them.

    Who else is with me?

Doesn't it get boring to play the same maps over and over again?

I mean, come on, sometimes it takes a half a year just to get a new map yet we're being constantly bombarded with new characters.

Don't get me wrong, the killers/survivors are cool, refreshing implementations into the game, but it's about time maps receive a larger focus.

I'd even be down with old chapters that never received maps getting maps.

Or even entire chapters of just maps.

I maybe wrong but the last map we got was RPD right? And before that was dead dawg?

Oh forgot about old ormond but on sand.

So I've heard alot of people say that you don't really need slowdown perks. Scott jund has even c said downing Survivors is the beat gen regression you can have. So I've been playing demo with no slowdown.

Its been bad unless I'm playing baby Survivors it doesn't matter how fast or frequent I don't Survivors gens still fly.

My last match I was at 5 gens and had 4 hooks with minute 50 it was 1 gen 6 hooks. Now to be fair I did spend 20 seconds at a gen that bbq said there was a survivor but thats including walking there to right before getting back into chase. This was the most extreme chase but they have all been about the same even when adding pressure by downing without some fourm of gen slowdown it doesn't seem to matter how good I do gens are going to finish everytime.

While I agree with Scott in most of the things he said, he also should've mentioned that you need either to be really good or fast killers like billy, blight, nurse, other killers will struggle.

Also no slowdown means that you need to know when to slug and when to tunnel(sometimes not always).

There is not a reason not to use at least 1 slowdown perk, maybe corrupt by itself, bbq and chase perks.

Just played a few rounds as i had a daily.

For some reason i got pretty average survs and felt very strong with him - really rare these days.

I don´t know old Freddy though.

If you don't mind me telling you about old freddy, he was really bad but extremely unique, he was one of the best killers unique wise, and a really good old freddy with old dying light still haunts my dreams (no pun intended).

So you as freddy had to put the survivor asleep, you had like 7 seconds before you can hit them unless with addons which made it like 4, his playstyle was amazing for people that were good with him, I sucked with him so yeah, 1 or 2 kills TOPS.

Survivors could hear the claws and hits but if they weren't asleep they couldn't be hit, self care was a direct counter to him as well (just miss a skillcheck boom awake), many players like myself and GeneralV (maybe you know them) grew fond to the playstyle even though I was trash with freddy.

  • She literally has the same counter as most anti loop killers, you just hold W

But it also gives an unfair advantage, because stealth is part of the gameplay, and with good filters, you basicly nullify that part of the game, the same way stretched res nullyfied mindgames. I know, for some people the game is just about the chases, but not for all of us.

I mean I'm one of those chases guy for both sides, but if one side has the advantage of seeing more than intended and instead of outplaying I'm getting stretch res then it is not a fun 1v1.

The point is to make chases fun for both sides but if one has the upper hand because they decided that 1080x1080 is their "normal res" then it is just cheating.

I don't really care if they use stretch res and say "I use it for the benefits" I'm good with that but if they say that "I do it for the extra frames" but at the same time they stream that is when I have issues, like if you do it for the extra fps because your pc can't handle it then you shouldn't be streaming and playing at the same time.

Where are stretched res users crying?

I'm not doubting you I just want to bathe in their pain.

I saw a few reddit threads, a bunch of tweets and also a lot of tiktok videos of people basically complaining a lot because of the stretch res removal which is funny.

    @hiken said:

i always said Stretch gave advantage... i tried, look like ass quit immediately but filters makes this blurry dark ass mess decent looking. never going back to what it was... not even considering the game impact higher configurations have, filters do the same and better , with much better colors aswell without almost impact in performance, is a win win from every single point of view, people who blame it never used it, cuase if they did they would never go back to the blurry ass mess this game is by default... i understand stretch cause looks like ass but not filters... once you taste the honey you wont want to leave it, its like updgrading the monitor to higher resolution, no going back.

So it is possible with filters to make stretch res look good? I never gave it a try like that, when I tried it was on default.

But yeah, I cannot stop using detail filters, and more brightness, it is amazing how much it really changes, makes the game look somehow way better, as if that was the intended way of playing it, I used to say that dbd looks like a ps2 game with filters at least looks like a ps3/ps4 game.

  • Survivor requires map knowledge and more like a "should I leave this gen to go for the save?" Rather than skill that is in solo queue, for swf it is not as demanding, it is more of a map knowledge rather than thinking.

  • Nah, I don't go for anyone in particular, I go for the first one I see and wing it from there.

Also I barely remember who was who during the match, like in the lobby you can have your name cosmetics and whatever, but if you are playing Steve then you are just a Steve, Idc from which platform you are.

Unless you are a bunny feng, instead of calling you feng, you are a bunny feng.

You can see him just fine on native LOL.

You don't even have to look up, he's right there, and if you did look up you'd see pretty much exactly the same amount of the killer.

Then why are stretch res users crying about the change? If they need the fps still then they can use the black bars.

And also remember those screenshots are from before the rework, you are able to see more right now.

Where did I say PC players were to blame? Lol. That would be an odd thing to say considering they aren’t the developers.

Oh my bad, I thought you agreed with nerfing pc because they are "good"

  • Probably and hopefully, if you want to bypass it you might need to mess with the game files.

  • @El_Gingero said:

Even next gen consoles are at a disadvantage due to nonexistent controller settings, higher input latency and less visibility. It can be compensated for by skill, but we should at least have some basic controller settings and a brightness / lower graphics option.

And how is that PC players fault? We get the same visibility on default, but I do agree that there should be some controller options, Idk why they never added them but considering they recently fixed/added PS button layout I guess controller options will never be a thing.

i agree with stretch but game without filters look ugly the game graphics are terrible with good filters youy can actually make it look good, without impacting FPS almost at all.

Yeah, filters are amazing, make the game look not as bad, I was basically making fun of people that want the stretch res fps boost but also stream and use filters on the same pc, like if they admitted that they wanted the extra advantage I'm fine but they pretending it doesn't give an advantage in mcmillian and autoheaven is just plain dumb.

Do you believe it's fair to ask someone to pay again to switch platforms and also regrind just to play a 5+ year old game without "issues"?

I did it, Many have done it, and do you believe it is fair for someone to ask to nerf pc players because they are "good"?

It is not like they don't allow controllers on pc or they can just try to get a new gen console and play without issues.

  • In hockey, teams don't give up, since dbd is hockey you CAN'T give up.

There is no point in playing killer these days because if you start maining a killer or if the killer was already your main, the hockey lead designer might ask for a nerf (look at my boy billy).

You have to play killer so crybaby survivors can cry about everything you do (I'm not saying survivors are crybabies or well they are but killers are too).

You have to be the puppet so they can move and make you look like a fool for their enjoyment.

I’m not really sure people were so used to playing like that anyway. It would have probably hurt my eyes

Because somehow people said that "it looks better" when most just wanted the extra advantage, it was horrible for my eyes, I tried it and gave up because of how ugly it really looked.

    image-283-29.png image.png

Sorry, forgot "stretch res do not give an advantage, I only stream and play dbd Also with filters so I have to stretch res so I can do both"

  • @eloise said:

Like someone said I don't want to buy the game on pc because I put a lot of money on the game on my PS4 i don't want to lose my progression

So you are trying to "nerf" a platform because they play really well and you don't want to change platforms because of your progression, have you ever thought that a LOT of people have lost their progress to change from console to pc and polished their skill on pc?.

I changed from ps4 about 2 years ago, lost 2 years of progress, devotion 6, all killers up to oni P3 all perks, about 5 survivors P3 with all perks but now at least I can play without issues.

  • There is a perk that I recommend when people ask for stuff like this.

Hex: take a break for your mental health.

At T1 is kinda bad because taking a break from a game you like is hard.

But at T2 you might feel like it is working.

If you get all stacks for it, you might come back feeling refreshed and might have fun again.

  • Clearly in your hockey match you missed out on the shootouts (or whatever they are called, Idk hockey enough) you needed to throw your hockey stick and beat him up.

Jokes aside, I see that what the nemesis is doing is just plain old outskill playstyle, clearly you should play with worse teammates because he facecamping you to death = you are bad, MMR working as intended...... In a horrible way.

  • The only way to make queues better is if more people play killer, and current killers are being hated for everything they do, I've seen smaller streamers and stuff get ######### talked for everything they do when they play killer and it doesn't seem fun.

EAC is so useless that players have been caught removing environment textures from their games in tournaments. EAC never picked it up. It's apparently called "easy" anti-cheat for a reason

I shouldn't be laughing because cheaters ruin experiences in this game but damn that is hilarious that EAC is garbage if people literally remove textures.

    @Ripley said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2799523#Comment_2799523

EAC bans AutoHotkey which many use to flashlight macro but there are method to hide it from EAC.

It's not hard to find hacks for this game, they are very cheap. Why so cheap? Because there is a market and competition to drive down the prices.

I thought macro wasn't an actual cheat, I assumed it was possible by just setting a macro (I assume it works that way for free ofc) Idk how that works honestly.

And yeah I've seen a video of Choy's that he talks to a real hacker the one that makes the cheats and says that they are cheap because of market competition.

  • So basically level up perks through play? Like lets pretend I will use something like small game and to level it up I need to use it? Because that sounds harder but cheaper bp wise.

  • This might be unrelated but I've read that EAC only detects direct cheats like cheating through the game files and not like 3rd party programs/scripts.
