Serious question about stretched res

Now, when devs said stretched res is a cheating, will they ban people who try to bypass restrictions?

    the only way i can imagine bypassing it is messing with game files which would probably be bannable

    Probably and hopefully, if you want to bypass it you might need to mess with the game files.

    They said it years ago and didnt ban anyone so I doubt they will now

    Guessing it's going to be something like "we're not actively going to ban you, but we're not helping you if you get auto-banned for modded files."

    This is only acceptable if auto-ban works and detects things like this perfectly so there is 100% ban chance
