Yeah, of course. I wish it was back so badly, it ######### the Matchmaking and also lowers the quality of High Rank Games. Before you would know "A, Rank Reset is in a few days" when players who did not belong there made it to Red Ranks. Now you have this situation all the time.
And I still think that the reasoning given is simply stupid. They said it is because players who cannot play that much would not be able to achieve something other players, who play more, will get. Which is... logical? Thats the way it is in every Onlinegame.
Also if you were good enough for red ranks it didn't take long to get from rank 10 to rank 1. For me I use to work long shifts so I only could play a handful of games each month, and I always get to rank 1 from rank 10 each season.
Another benefit is if you return from a break you use to be able to play against more inexperienced players whilst you shake the rustiness off. I personally took a few months break, I was trying to adjust to the new maps, sensitivity, and killer at rank 5. Playing against an optimal a red rank SWF whilst trying to adjust to a new sensitivity wasn't fun.

It's not going to matter. The devs are developing a new matchmaking system that won't be reliant on rank.
TBH, I have no idea how an MMR system would work in Dead by Daylight.
If a killer decides to chase me for five gens and then downs me with NOED, does that make a worser survivor then the three survivors who escaped who had no interaction with the killer?
Or on the flip side, if I a 4k game by using an ebony Mori, with iridescent hatchets plus infantry belt does that me a good killer?
There's so many variables of an outcome of a game, that has no relation to skill. Pallet spawn RNG, a DC, glitches, etc.

Can I put on my steam profile im a spirit main and that makes me a killer main?
Nah fam, that doesn't work that way, anyone can do it, maybe if you would stream on twitch or something like that, but please... hillarious
Okay then. You gain more player experience from playing as killer then you do as a survivor. I've been playing DBD since June 2018 (when player levels were introduced), yet I'm only devotion level 5. If I was a killer main my devotion level would be higher.
As I said in my previous post, I shouldn't have to prove whether I'm a survivor main or not.

Ok fine. Then NOED, once active, should affect only one survivor. After that occurs then the Hex totem should cleanse itself.
I agree, I've actually thought that's how a NOED nerf should go for a while now.

You're attempting to preach to a killer main who doesn't see an issue with DS.
I don't get baited, I know who I keep tabs on.
When a DS does rarely hit me, I move on because that was MY mess up.
I'm a survivor main that has a single issue with DS. Which is that I believe DS should deactivate once the survivor starts working on a generator. As when I'm playing killer I prioritize going after the survivors working on generators. If a survivor happens to have been unhooked, that isn't tunneling that's me preventing the survivors from completing their objective.
Don't take this the wrong way but looking at your killer ranks in your print screens they are ranks 12 and 16. Even though there's issues you with match making so you'll sometimes play against red rank survivors. Playing at rank 1 as killer is a different ball game to playing at rank 12 and 16.
If you have doubts whether I'm truly a survivor main, below are images of my character levels. What kind of killer main would P3 their survivors whilst leaving a lot of their killers at level 1.

Seeing rank and character level only ever encouraged anyone to dodge their lobbies frequently and if ever possible, whenever they are matched with anyone they deemed "below their skill level" (even though, ironically many red ranks, aren't actually all that skillful)
Old Ruin was a crutch perk used in by over 80% of killers, and Balanced Landing was also being used far too frequently by comparison to the other exhaustion perks available to survivors.
The two survivors that were introduced, while cool and certainly looked the part, their voices did not. This was because for some odd reason though BHVR successfully secured the voice talents of the legendary Bruce Campbell the actual actor of Ash Williams himself, they were not able to get a hold of 20 something year old Joe Keery or Natalia Dyer nor did they ever explain why. It could have been for a myriad of innocent reasons such as conflicting schedules, or a restrictive license from netflix, but the fact they never explained any of these possibilities leads me to infer there was a worse explanation. Something that looked bad or that they don't want people to know like BHVR being too stingy to recruit the voice talents of these two actors, or maybe that they flat out rejected working with BHVR creating some bad blood.
And while the killer was cool for a multitude of reasons, he had a somewhat cool and unique power, introduced the new Oblivious status effect on the side (and also shipped with this update came the official Undetectable status effect which had numerous cool features including the killer can no longer have their aura revealed, which was a huge buff for stealth killers all around considering the resurgence of survivors using OoO after Ghostface's release), was possibly the most balanced killers straight from PTB, and was the very first official non-human but humanoid killer which was huge for the lore. All of that was well and good but this, at least for me, only caught my attention and wasn't all that captivating to hold my interest. I was never a big demogorgon guy I love the show but I'm not fond of the gameplay this killer provides, and with the benefit of hindsight there aren't that many Demogorgons around to begin with either. After the hype died down this killer, despite being very balanced and somewhat viable, very quickly fell out of the limelight and is one of the least picked killers. I personally have only seen maybe 1 demogorgon (though this may vary depending on rank, I am in red ranks) in the past couple of months.
Honestly, I had a lot more fun with the most recent chapter Chains of Hate, almost purely because of the killer alone, but also because of a great map which for the first time changed the view beyond the walls of the map and also incidentally, changed the walls themselves. Great map, super fun killer winning or losing and who I know I'll be playing for months to come even after new chapters come out, and though the survivor didn't impress too many people I like her lore.
The Stranger Things chapter might be one of the most well-rounded chapters releasing some very beloved characters into the world of Dead By Daylight, but it wasn't perfect and there was a bunch to poke holes into. The lack of support from Joe Keery and Natalia Dyer themselves was extremely disappointing and the voices they have now are at best "meh" and at worst completely ruin the immersion and take me out of playing those characters. By Comparison, Ash looks, sounds, feels, and even BREATHES Ashley J. ######### Williams: you're a bad-ass savior of humanity, and that's because that is actually bruce Campbell's voice and rounds out, finishes, and completes the character making it utterly incredible. Chapter XIII honestly might be one of those "Jack of all trades, master of none" type of chapters, it did a lot right but not everything.
Haven't been a fan of the latest chapter, I haven't enjoyed the map, it's the first DLC that I haven't bought. I actually took a break from DBD after the Chains of Hate update. It was mainly because I was getting annoyed that I was losing matches because I felt like I had to parkour to patrol the majority of the gens.

Clown was probably my favorite update. It was a pretty good period in time.
I agree, I started playing around the time the clown was released. For me it's my all time favourite update. Whilst I don't like the clown, Kate is one of my favourite survivors, and the Father Campbell's Chapel is one of my favourite maps to play on as both survivor and killer.
EDIT: Then the Legion update came, and I stopped playing DBD until April 2019.

At red ranks, I have noticed that a skilled killer rarely stands a chance against a 4 man SWF that is coordinated and communicating. And honestly it makes me want to quit this chance because killer is not viable. Gen speeds are still way too fast and SWF is OP. What are your thoughts?
Not every SWF will be an optimal SWF group. A lot SWF groups are just people that want to play with their friends. Even it isn't wasn't for SWF I would not writing this post. As the only reason why I bought DBD was because my friend got me to get it, then she taught me how to play.
However, four good solo survivors can be as effective, if not more as a SWF group.
Although whilst playing against an optimal SWF group or four good solo survivors can be as fun as nails on a chalk board, it is possible to win. Even at red ranks it's rare that you'll go against four good loopers.
If you see a survivor who you believe is a good looper, just leave them, at red ranks you can't afford to waste time trying to down a good looper. You'll probably be able to find another survivor who you will be able to down a lot quicker. Also don't be afraid to slug, it's a great way to provide pressure on the survivors. At the end of the day you're playing killer in 2020 where single miss swing can you cost you the game.
You'll be able to get the good looper once the other weaker survivors are either out of the game or slugged.
If you're unfortunate enough to be matched up against four good survivors, it's harder to give advice as it boils down to experience and game knowledge. When I'm up against four good survivors I try to drew out the game out as long as possible, slowly removing the survivors resources over time. Being constant hassle to their gen progress. Sometimes it works out and I get the 4k, sometimes all four survivors escape.

I play on PS4 too. I noticed bad matchmaking before dedicated servers. It started when they changed SWF to match killers with the highest ranked survivor in the group, which was the Stranger Things chapter. Something about this change in coding REALLY bugged things out and started a downward slope, and the changes to Rank Reset certainly didn't help.
I did enjoy the Stranger Things chapter though, and the release was a lot of fun.
The rank reset change was probably worst thing to happen to dbd. I much preferred the chore of having to get to rank 1 but then for the rest of the reason I was playing against red rank killers with competent team mates. Now the majority of red rank survivors play like green ranks, I often placed against inexperienced killers.
Although my killer experience hasn't changed much, as I've always been a red rank killer.

It's never been this bad for Xbox, it started maybe week or less ago and this is just about every game now and it is not fun at all for either party...
I'm not on Xbox, but the issues with Matchmaking on the PS4 came when dedicated servers were introduced. I might be wrong, but have dedicated servers only been implemented on the Xbox recently?
We've been having match making issues for ages (PC and PS4). It's not just low rank killers getting high ranked survivors, I've played against low rank survivors as a red rank killer.
It's an issue that's not likely to be resolved anytime soon, in the first image was taken during or just after the Halloween event.

Really?
I swore dedicated servers and dodgy match making was introduced around the time Oni was released. I remember when Demogordon was released the lowest ranked killer I would go against as a rank 1 survivor was a rank 7. Most my matches were against rank 2 killers. I did get rank 20 team mates, but that was due to them being in a SWF.
I am on the PS4, maybe it was different on console.

I honestly don't understand how people get the gratification from bullying inexperienced players.
Although matchmaking doesn't work by basing it on the average rank in the SWF group, instead it actually bases the rank on the highest ranked survivor in the group. However, matchmaking hasn't been working how it should for quite some time now.
Survivors that are toxic post game to inexperienced survivors are normally the ones that cannot play well against the killers of their rank.
EDIT: I'm a rank 1 killer, when I get a toxic swf I just let them bleed out at the end, so to let them think about their behaviour.

His abilities are a lot more unique and exciting than most of the other m1 killers (Trapper, Clown, Wraith). Most of the m1 killers only have one ability and I would argue that bear traps, cloaking, and fart clouds are nowhere near as exciting as teleports that can be mindgamed, loop-countering snares, and fake pallets. Is it because Freddy is actually strong compared to the other m1 killers? Or is it because he is percieved as simpler to play? Sure Freddy players have a reputation for slowdown perks but you can blame the genrush meta for making it a good tactic. Some claim Freddy is even OP as the best m1 killer but Nurse and Spirit are always rated higher than him (and if Nurse and Spirit deserve their place at the top due to their skill floor, I wouldn't say Spirit is that much harder to play than an m1 killer).
Considering he's more exciting and stronger than most of the other m1 killers... Why all the Freddy hate?
This reply is based on from my experience of playing AS Freddy. Freddy is one of my strongest killers despite him not being one of the killers I main. In my opinion he's a strong killer but extremely easy to use. With other killers I had to take my time and effort to learn them before I can use them optimally against red rank survivors. Meaning when I win with other killers it's much more rewarding
Whilst I don't enjoy playing against Freddy as a survivor, my main issue with Freddy is that I don't find him as rewarding to play as compared to the other killers I play.

I just play DBD by the golden rule: "do unto others as you would have them do unto you"
Survivor:
I don't teabag
I don't clicky clicky
If I stomp a Killer, I don't GGEZ them in post game - I thank them for the match. I will stick up for a Killer if my teammates do.
If I stomp the killer, but I'm sure I did enough to PIP, I get "conveniently" caught and die so they get at least one sacrifice
I don't linger on the map in end-game unless I have an actual reason to be there
I don't use the DS locker tech, nor pair it with Head-on
I don't use exhaustion perks
Killer:
I don't camp
I don't tunnel
If a team is doing particularly bad, I will find something to do on the opposite side of the map to let them reset...even if there's nothing to actually do LOL
I challenge myself to hook everyone twice before I start death hooking people (although I like playing "no-kill killer" and pipping)
I dont use insta-down addons, perks, or moris
I never slug to secure a 4k
I will slug to avoid quickly killing someone who isn't very good
Just general "don't be an #########" type stuff. I do my best to try and make everyone have a good time...unless you try and ruin my time. Then I am spicy. 😂
Back in 2018 I use to play to just double hook everyone, then let everyone escape. Going easy on bad survivors does more harm then good, as it boosts them to a rank where they don't belong. Therefore they'll continue to be into put to matches where they are out of their depth, which will have a negative affect on their enjoyment. As well as impacting the enjoyment of their fellow survivors.
Code of Honour as a Survivor:
I do not BM (T -bagging, spamming my flashlight, pointing etc) unless the killer camps, tunnels, brings a mori, or has NOED. Although I'll sometimes chain blind if I make a flash light save.
I avoid looping infinities
I never use a key.
Despite being a Jake main, I do not participate in Sabbo builds.
I never bring a Haddonfield or a Ormund offering.
I always say good game after the game.
Code of Honour as a killer:
From the start of the game I'll try and play as fair as possible I don't camp or tunnel.
I do not bring a Mori unless the survivors as a key or I see a survivor who I know to be toxic post game.
Unless I'm playing Leatherface I don't use the perk NOED
Although if I go against a toxic SWF group or a sabbo squad, I'll finish the game by letting them bleed out. Giving them a chance to think about their behaviour/actions.

I once had a match where a Survivor was standing directly behind me as I hooked his friend. I turned and whacked him, and he disconnected, then claimed I was camping in the endgame lobby. I asked if he expected me to walk away and he said 'yes', swore at me, and left.
I would have thought he was joking, if not for the swearing. I believe he was 100% convinced that he deserved a free unhook for..fairness? I guess?
And I'm not saying Killer's can't be mean. I once had a match start where the Killer (Trapper) tunneled me. Like, he ignored my SWF buddy (we were working on the same gen). My buddy even ran in front of him during his chase of me, and he just went around my friend. Did not even whack him. He then camped me and did the 'headbang' thing. He walked away to get a trap, and my friend unhooked me. He waited until I was unhooked, to avoid hitting my friend, and took a swing at me that my friend blocked. He proceeded to chase me again instead of downing my friend, who was basically tickling his butt the whole time (And Trapper has a bootay), downed me, and proceeded to hook me and attack me nonstop while my friend stood there using the 'point' emote.
I have no idea why I ticked him off so badly. I don't even run what could be considered 'toxic' builds, and I was playing Dwight, of all people. But he was determined to make my match as horrible as humanly possible. ..I mostly just laughed at the absurdity of it all. Like, I probably would have been ticked off if I was not playing with a friend, who was laughing as hard as I was.
That said, when I play Killer, if I realize an unhooking is happening, or I predict the Survivors right, I'll mostly ignore the recently unhooked guy, unless he starts healing himself, healing someone else, or working on a gen. Your 'immunity' is forfeit the moment you start doing beneficial actions other than 'run away'. But if I happen to run into the same poor sap while chasing someone ELSE, I'll still try to ignore them, unless it happens 3 times. By then, 30+ seconds have passed; they are now valid targets.
The only time I'll camp is when the gates have opened, there's nothing else I can do but guard the hook to secure the kill. I understand it when a killer does it against me when I'm playing survivor. Yet, I don't know what some survivors expect killers to do in that situation, to go to the corner the map and stay there during end game collaspe?
On the flip side I get a lot salty messages from killers. I don't BM, I refuse to use keys, I don't bring Haddonfield offerings, and before the map changes I avoided looping god loops (they were broken and didn't take any skill to use). I just play optimally.
I've even been name and shamed on a Facebook group, for being a "try hard survivor".

You having jake as a pfp doesn't mean you dont main killer.
Can I be a damn entitled killer in the forums but have yui as a pfp and not be entitled?
Still you didn't answer my questions, I get a lot of steam comment from salty killer and I dont make a thread about it, just move on damn.. we all know that you dont need to make a post about it, all this thread creates is a us vs them.
How is it a survivor vs killer post, when it was made by a survivor main talking about how some survivors are being entitled?
It's a discussion about player entitlement. I could have used other examples where some survivors believe that killers should leave an area of a hooked even if the killer believes there is another survivor nearby.
Or on the other how doing generators and looping is considered toxic. It isn't toxic, it's just playing the game.
Personally I've always had the mindset that it is not the opponents responsibility to provide me with a fun game. It's my responsibility to have a fun game. I linked my old topic where I talk about that subject in the OP.
EDIT:
This is my PSN Profile.
EDIT 2: In case anyone still has doubts whether I'm really a survivor main.
What sort of killer mains spends blood points on P3'ing their survivors whilst leaving the majority of their killers at level 1?
-
@ZeroJukes said:
Saying you're a survivor main once you start your post make me lost all the credibility that it had.
- Doing it doesn't make you're argument more valid, we dont even know if you're lying cause we really dont know which side you main.
- What you're trying to accomplish here? just make a us vs them thread? we all already know it isn't tunneling so I dont get why make a post about it.
For information purposes lot of survivors seem to think that if they get unhooked, then immediately begin working on a generator and then think that they are being tunneled. Which results in toxic behaviour.
One of the biggest issues in this game is player entitlement, it's not just survivors, there are entitled killers too. Today I was playing killer after not playing for three months. I was receiving a lot of post game toxicity from SWF groups because they thought I tunneled one of their friends despite the reason I went after them was due to them working on a generator.
I play survivor more then I play killer, and I'm also a better survivor then I am as a killer, which makes me a survivor main. Not to mention I have Jake as my profile avatar.
EDIT: The reason I mentioned I was a survivor main, is so I wouldn't be accused of being a killer main and it would save me time from having to make a reply explaining that I'm actually a survivor main.

Best Rank 1 Survivor Builds You've Seen?
Stuck at rank 3.
- Sprint Burst
- Windows of Opportunity
- Bond
- Self-Care
Other ideas:
Decisive Strike: I find for me I don't get any use out of decisive strike as I'm usually dead on first hook 80% of the time. Cant really get past rank 3 in quick match.
Adrenaline: If I get to end game its going to be me vs killer with hatch shut. So never found a use of this. Ever.
Dead Hard: Doesn't work 90% of the time. Will proc and I take the hit anyway. Forced to take something else. Happens 90% of the time with 32ms ping. Just the worst talent for reliability. Actually wish they'd rework this talent to make it be like borrowed time.
Iron-will: is nice, really nice. but I never have anyone to heal me they'd rather do gens. So I run self-care.
Spine Chill: Would love to have but the other perks are just to valuable for me.
I've been a rank 1 survivor since mid 2018 (minus times where I took breaks). The biggest issue I see with your build is self care. You don't need to use self care in 2020. It just takes too much time to heal yourself when you could be spending that time doing a generator.
For me it took me a while to stop using self care after it got nerfed, as at first I felt uncomfortable not using it. However, if you use that time to repair generators and rescue team mates off the hook, you're increasing your chances of escaping (therefore you're more likely to pip). If you are more effective with your time, the game will be shorter and you'll decrease the amount of times that you need healing.
I guarantee if you stop using self care, you'll find yourself pipping more at red ranks.
Furthermore, you use Bond so if you really need to heal yourself, you can easily find a team mate to heal you. Bond is one of the main perks I use, it's also great for avoiding running into survivors working on gens when you're being chased.
Windows of Opportunity: I actually like Windows of Opportunity, I sometimes use when there's a new map or I've come back from a long break from DBD. It's one of the best perks for planning your chase routes. However, there are better perks for increasing your survival. It's better to try and learn the map layouts, so you can use a perk that will help better.
Sprint Burst: Great perk, imo it's the best exhaustion perk in the game.
I would recommend using resilience and spine chill together, otherwise known as the vault build. It enables you the vault quicker which can be the difference between getting a hit or not. Resilience also rewards you for being injured by increasing your repair, healing, unhooking speed. Spine chill is a great counter against stealth killers.
Other perks you could consider are borrowed time, great against campers. Iron will enables you to perform techs/jukes whilst injured that you may not be able to do without it. Unbreakable is also a strong perk it can be a game changer and compliments sprint burst. I personally rare use it, as it's extremely circumstantial and I prefer perks that will help me in chases.
I will mention though if you are struggling to pip it's likely due to your playstyle, and there are areas in your game that you need to improve. My best advice is to try and play optimally. I focus on completing generators and being more effective with your time, improving your ability to plan chase routes, work on improving your looping, learn map layouts, and learn how to run jungle gyms optimally.
Below are the two perk builds that I mainly use:

Title pretty much sums it. Replacing strong loops with nothingness and getting hit for it just feels bad as you lost to RNG and me downing someone because they got unlucky just makes me feel a bit bad
I'm a survivor main but I also played killer at rank 1, so my view on the game is quite balanced.
I only came back to playing DBD after not playing since mid March. The map changes were needed, as there were certain god loops that shouldn't have been in the game. It doesn't take skill to loop to be able to loop the old god loops. It made certain maps incredibly frustrating as killer.
One of the most important things to learn as survivor is being able to plan your chase route. So if the killer spots you, you already know where you're going to run to. If you end in a dead zone, unless the dead zone was created due to pallet wastage then it's your mistake for ending up in that dead zone.
I am aware of the glitch where pallets don't spawn.

True. I think at this point they should just add in game voice chat and balance around that. They say the want to close the gap between solo and swf, the answers right in front of their eyes and would allow them to easily buff killers to match as we'd all be on the same level.
Not everyone is from North America, there are many language barriers in European and Asia servers. So even if there was in game voice chat, wouldn't mean that the players would be able understand each other.
Also I don't want to listen to some screaming kids, someone blasting music through their mic, or having to listen to someone using a broken mic.
I mostly play solo survivor or killer, but when I do SWF I'm choosing to communicate with my friend/s. I would lose that choice if there was an in built voice chat.

@Cheers said:
Majority of the loops are killer sided to compensate. Personally the map is a better one for killers than survivors but can definitely be won by survivors if they play right.
I haven't played on the new map as survivor yet, when I was playing as killer I saw that there weren't any noticeable strong loops. However, my first game on that map was incredibly frustrating, as I was spending too much time trying to regress each individual generator. Whilst I was able to down the survivors reasonably quickly, it didn't matter as I have issues pushing survivors off generators effectively.
One of my biggest strengths as killer is providing generator pressure, but on that map I was really struggling providing any kind of generator pressure.
Maybe I was just unlucky that I was going against actual optimal red rank survivors who were heavily focused on generator progression, I was unable to spend time trying to get familiar with the map.

I personally love when a survivor does it cause it just waste there time especially when they follow me and click. What do you guys think about teabagging and clicking?
The reason I find tea bagging and flash light clicking annoying, is that when I play killer I go out my way to play as fair as possible. I'll even ignore recently unhooked survivors to go after a healthy survivor, even if the unhooked survivor runs into me.
Playing fair as killer in 2020 at red ranks makes playing killer harder then it is already.
I've played against this Steve who was recently unhooked, and he ran into me, I ignored and walked around him to go after a healthy survivor. Next time I saw him he would constantly t bag me at every pallet.
Although if a Feng Min T bags me, I'll just leave them and give them the hatch. As I find t bagging Feng MIn's amusing.

Practice makes perfect my man, sometimes a game is just unwinnable with what you're given and the skill-set of the Survivors you face, but that doesn't mean you can't 1k, 2k, or even 3k if you pull of some omega brain plays.
I understand how you feel though, I too take pride as a Killer main and loath getting a 4 man escape on me, a 1k is good enough to me but a 4 man escape lets me know that I still have much to learn, even with 1.7k hours almost.
After this weeks Rank Reset with the influx of old insanely good players coming in, I learned that the meta has changed since the Ruin rework and requires a lot more fast paced game-play to stand on-top, sometimes losing 3 gens at once is unnerving and makes you waver as the Killer, but it's actually good to monitor less Generator on the map, especially if those Generators are fairly close to each other.
Overall, with the guides I gave and videos with enough practice, you should start to get the hang of it eventually. We were all new at some point in-game, nobody starts out as a god-tier Survivor/Killer.
Thank you, i was actually a rank 1 killer before rank reset. For nearly two years I just played Hillbilly and Leatherface, occassionally Myers and Hag. Only recently I started to try and get adept with the other killers.
I've gotten good with new Doctor (He's my new main) and Freddy, but Spirit is by far the hardest killer I've tried learning.

No problem, I usually just make guides on the spot for questions like these.
Glad it was able to help you out in some way!
I've started to play Spirit since rank reset, I'm currently really struggling going against good survivors. I'm losing the majority of my mind games and struggling with tracking when against good survivors.
Although dominate and steam roll against average/medicore average survivors.
My biggest challenge at the moment is that I'm a very competitive person and I hate losing, so losing games when I know would probably would have won if I was playing as one of my mains is frustrating (I use to be a semi professional hockey player when I was at University, I'm naturally a competitive person).
EDIT: I'm really liking save the best for last on spirit though. I'm going to try and unlock Stridor as I think I'll need it.

Players relying on slugging just couldnt do their objective the proper way, so they had to outdo basical game mechanics to ensure kills that wouldnt have been their else. Those are the bad ones.
Someone doesn't play killer at red ranks.

Lately it's the only way to slow down games
You got 1 hooked survivor
and at least 1-2 survivors ready for the unhook
This makes it soo 3 out of 4 survivors are not doing their objective which is great
And also with the philosophy that "oh it's almost on the 2nd phase...might as well wait a little longer...oh it's almost over...might as well wait for it to finish it"
Camping is a terrible strategy for slowing the game if you're playing against smart survivors. If you're playing at red ranks you got to assume you are going against smart survivors.
If a killer is camping the hook he is not providing any generator pressure, as the survivors can just complete the generators without being interrupted.
To sum it up camping only works against hook swarmers, but against good survivors you're basically throwing the game by camping, giving the three other survivors an easy escape.
Yes, I play killer at red ranks.

Just finished a game where I slugged 2 people to get the last person since they had a key , and right after I finished the match the survivors started calling me innaproproiate words. they also said that i had to resort to slugging to win .
Ignore what salty survivors say, often they're just being toxic due to them losing.
For example a survivor messaged me that I tunneled him. In between his second hook and his death hook, I sacrificed a survivor, hooked a Yui twice, hooked a Dwight, and he was the last survivor I downed (I got a 4k).
I try my best to play fair as a killer, I still get hate messages so just ignore them, they're just salty that they lost.

I saw many discussion and heard lot of camping issue and tunneling issue. Yes, there are toxic players but it is not all cases.
Even if you think about it its pretty simple. you knocked down survivor and you hooked survivor. Let's say you see two survivors near trying to unhook. If you are in this type of situation, do u guys think killer should go away to let those survivors easily rescue?
or survivors has repaired 4 gens and rest 3 gens are in really close range, and you hooked survivor in the middle where you can see all 3 gens. Some survivors think killer should just go away from hook and let other survivors to unhook.
For tunneling, in front of killer(not legion using skills), you have one fully healed survivor and one in dire situation. What is the reason for killers to hit fully healed survivor when you have to spend lot more time chasing?
I really don't know why, but if everyone just think about the situations little bit, It is really easy to understand.
TBH they won't get the same experience unless they're playing at red ranks. Because playing against grey, yellow, green and purple rank survivors is a walk in the park. They won't experience what makes the game frustrating for the killer at those ranks.
So it should be "survivor mains should try to play killer at red ranks".
I am a survivor main, but I was a rank 1 killer before the recent rank reset.

This morning second match SFW friends all rank 1-4 I'm very bad at the survivor side.
Ight so here I am wondering a forest right and the killer comes outta nowhere I start running but he's right on top of me and stabs me through the back !
You might think I'm DEAD right here and no but no. I'm alive AND I'm running way faster then him for alittle bit. I wave in and out some trees and loose him. I tell my mate where I'm at and he patches me up.
So I do a Generator right trying to leave before this monster gets me and a few seconds after the lights come on BAM there he is again. So he stabs me though the chest right before I hit him with some wood I found next to a tree. You might think man empty cup is DEAD but no. I toss the wood right on the guy and then run way fast. His screaming at me I'm running and eventually because I'm too dumb to hide somewhere or try to loose him he's right behind me and STABS me right in the arse!
Man this is where I'm DEAD. But NO I use this magic power called dead hard and not only does this magic let the blade pass through me I'm also alittle bit faster then he. I jump out a window and it takes him another minute to catch up.
Then my mates jump in and try to distract him but he wont have it. I've right done taken the piss outta him. So he finally gets me and I'm not running anymore... he swept the legs. I'm a goner. He picks me up in his big meaty claws and moves too a hook to sacrifice me to the dark ones... but my freinds click a flashlight at him and he drops me... now not only am I not dying on the ground my legs work and I run away !
He's running
I'm running
Im bumping into things, I cant find anymore more strategically placed wood anywhere. So he does the stabbing and I fall down again. He lifts me onto a hook . I made the mistake of running right to one. I'm DEAD
But soon as his backs turned WHAT HO it's me mates again ! They lift me off and not only am I not dying but I'm up and running again. The monster stabs at me again DEAD but I still dont go do, my mate has magic that let's me not go down called borrowed time. But I keep bumping into trees and trying not to hide he's got me again dead to rights face to face as I jump back through the window i was just in for some reason but i use deadhard and I'm STILL NoT DEAd wowza. So after alittle walk around a stump for lil bit me and killer meet again. This time he got me spack DEAD grab but for some reason...
I get this super easy skillcheck so it hit it
And bam out of the killers grasp healed once again and he's stunned and I'm off and running.
99Gates open and freinds leave.
Killer rank 2. Bbq, bitter, pop, noed
I got like 8 second chances and tbh I didnt play well at all but that's how every game I play goes more or less regardless of rank.
Are you playing survive with friends, and your friends are red ranks?
If so that is why you are getting red rank killers. With survive with friends the matchmaking bases it on the highest ranked friend rather then the average.
How matchmaking use to work with SWF was that it would base it on the average rank of the group of the survivors. This was abused by experienced players by using their lower ranked friends to get easier games to torment new killers.
If you're playing solo and you're getting red rank killers then it's due to the current issues with matchmaking.

Or addons or offerings? For killer specifically, as survivor these can be a little annoying to the rest of your team.
Ones that add negative effects or apply certain effects in exchange for more bloodpoints? I really like these perks, they help handicap you a bit, which can help you learn or make games more fair if you are the kind of player who 4ks extremely frequently as killer.
I like them because I am hella bad at the game and it takes a lot of the stress away, since I don't feel as bad for my inevitable and frequent losses when all I had was blood point perks. It's a lot easier to overlook unfair matchmaking and game breaking bugs and dedicated servers buggering you over when you are earning a decent amount of bloodpoints regardless.....but losing to people way outside of your skill range and getting like no blood points like 10 games in a row is not a lot of fun for anyone, and it's extra demoralizing.
Just more of these would go a long way, greater rewards for greater risks....I dunno, just a thought I guess. Been really enjoying the ones for nurse.
I agree, I'm a competitive person so getting forced to play a certain killer that I'm not very good with due to a daily or a challenge can be annoying.
I even prepare myself that I'm probably going to lose with my level 1 Wraith at rank 1, but I'll still be annoyed with the loss.

I always try to start off nice and fair, but with all the red rank survivors I’m paired up against, it’s almost impossible. By the time I finish chasing one of them, 3 gens pop. I leave the hook in search of another one, another gen pops and they unhook their bud.
Im then under a bunch of stress to at least get one kill when only 2 gens are left. So I basically have to tunnel and camp or slug. I don’t enjoy it so now I just hide in the basement when I realize the game matched me(rank 10-12) up with rank 1s-4s.
My killer play style is to try and cause as much generator pressure as possible, I don't commit myself to long chases, unless I believe I can down the survivor quickly.
Even against red ranks in most games, there will only be one or two good/strong loopers, I focus on the weaker survivors, then go after the strong survivors at the end of the game (I don't tunnel, but there's no point going after a strong looper if I don't have to).

Also, I love the sound Feng makes so I’m happy to chase her.
Btw, what killer do you play?
I'm a Hillbilly main but I haven't been playing him recently due to constantly getting Lery's. Currently, I've been playing a lot of Doctor, as well as Freddy, Leatherface, and Pig.

Just had a match vs three red ranks and one purple rank (Which I'm 99% sure was a SWF with coms) while I am rank 10-11. It was obvious they were much better than me and rather than hiding in the basement I decided to give it a go. They didn't want a nice game and instead wanted to flashlight click, t-bag and and use the annoying "hook tech" to hide behind a persons body and then unhook right in front of me.
I get aggravated and decided to completely throw the game and tunnel them into the ground to at least get a kill. Surprisingly it works. Two people focus gens and one tries to body block the person I am focusing. I manage to get the kill and knock someone else down since they were following me. All gens get completed and pink hair girl decides shes safe from me and starts t-bagging. BAM! NoEd! Muahahahahahaha!
Hooked the two in the basement and got my three kill. Last person t-bags and tries to blind me but ends up leaving. After the match I get told to commit suicide, which I report.
So, here is my request. The second someone tries to be toxic to you, please make the game as unfun as possible for them. Why should a Killer care about being fair, and playing by the Survivors Rulebook if the Survivors don't follow any rules what so ever? Make them suffer like they want to make you suffer.
Just don't do it to everyone, only the obvious annoying turds that don't want a nice match for all.
I wish I was good enough to play Nurse, unfortunately she gives me headaches ;_;
With the hook tech you, aim closer to the hook, you should be able to get the hit.
I had a game where I had a red rank SWF try and be toxic with me, I don't think they were expecting me to be a rank 1 killer. I sacrificed them all with four generators remaining.
When I play killer I try my best to play as fair as possible, even going out my to avoid tunneling. If they t bag, taunt, spam their flashlight, then I'll stop putting an effort into playing fair.
Unless it's a Feng Min, t bagging Feng Min's make me laugh, I normally give t bagging Feng Min's the hatch.

It would be really handy to be able to block a killer from following you through windows even if it was just once per match. It could be a Kate perk as she is from the same chapter as Clown. Either a rework or an addition to Windows of Opportunity would work quite well.
It also got me thinking are there any other perks which could be used by both survivors and killers? But I couldn't think of any...
It's already hard enough to catch a good survivor, never alone giving them the opportunity to block a window which I could use to cut them off.

You don't get yet, but I will explain: your "rank 1" means nothing except you play a lot, so I didn't care have you this rank or not, because it doesn't give any additional weight to your words. Is it clear for you? My previous messages was for trolling you and your "I am rank 1 killer" in every message.
Well to get to rank 1 as killer you have to play against red rank survivors, often you have to play against good survivors. So you have to be a somewhat decent killer to get to red ranks, currently killers are going against red ranks from the moment they reach green ranks.
Whilst with survivor rank doesn't mean anything due to current match making it's likely survivors will go against green and yellow rank killers, so ranking up as survivor is a lot easier. Along with the fact that survivors can be boosted by SWF.
Anyway I still thought it was rude and unnecessary of you to say that you think I would be an easy win in your first response to me, just because I like new ruin.
EDIT: I don't even know why I'm trying to explain to a troll.

Survivors are way too overpowered as it is. They shouldn't even be allowed to have perks cause it is unfair to the killer. 4 vs. 1 really? So stupid even to let them have perks when they have the advantage. It stupid I have to camp just to get a kill while the other 3 run borrowed time or decisive strike trying to save him. ######### this stupid BS. I won't play again until they change this.
Why ban people for using perks that are in the game?
It's the same if survivors call for people to be banned for using NOED, Rancor, Devour of Hope.
Curious how long have you been playing the game, if you're still new I can give you tips on how you can improve as killer.

They simply have more ways/chances to make survivors lives a living hell. You see too many items, bring Franklin's, take their items, and DC. See a team that may look like a SWF, that's probably not, bring Ebony Mori. Gets looped by a survivor for 5 gens because they're better than you, face camp. So many opportunities to make the game so terrible for Survivors. Sure survivors can what, Tea bag, that's it. Sure there is doing gens, their one and only objective, and flashlight clicking, most of the time to take agro off of someone being tunneled. Killers simply have more ways to make Survivors hate their lives, and they take it more often. Before you say I have a survivor biased, I don't. I play Killer and Survivor equally, have been bullied as both, and gotten to rank 1 as both. I see both sides equally, but whenever I want to be toxic, it's usually just slap on an Ebony Mori and OP addons. Survivors can't do that, all they can do is bring a key, which imo isn't toxic, just op.
Survivors have sabo squad, so survivors have it in their arsenal to make the game unfun for the killer. Sabo is a lot of fun for survivor, but it's frustrating as killer.
Dealing with a sabo squad that just aimlessly run to areas where they know you can't hook them is incredibly boring for the killer.
I once played against a sabo squad where I had sound bug issue and I couldn't hear the noise notifications that my hooks were being sabotaged. I just assumed I was unlucky with the number of hook spawns,
At high ranks, a single mistake as killer can cost you the game. So when a survivor wiggles off your shoulder due to your hooks being sabotaged it's very frustrating.

How much fun it is going against a AFK wraith or play against a killer that you make give I'm talking 2 Gens left give up make them stand in a Corner and they don't dc.
Survivors do you still have fun if the Killer just stops playing? No Chases, No Unhooks,Talking nothing not even a hit to heal.
It all depends whether the killer is a red rank killer or a rank 12 who shouldn't even be playing against me.
If I make a red rank killer disconnect because they couldn't catch me, I'll be proud as it was due to my performance as survivor. At the end of the day they are a red rank killer they should know better then to commit to chasing a strong looper.
If I make a green or yellow rank killer disconnect then I'll feel sorry for them, they should not be playing against red ranks.
People say that rank doesn't matter but you can tell the difference in the level of quality from a red, a purple, and a green rank player (survivor and killer).

That's a bit disrespectful and unnecessary.
I'm a rank 1 killer who often plays against good survivors, half the time I'll win against good teams. My biggest strength as killer is able to apply a lot of pressure to survivors, even if you do escape against me I'll highly doubt it would have been easy.

So, after two weeks, maybe a bit more, I can say that I saw ruin in maybe 10% of the games, at the most.
In the rare occasions I faced it, I faced probably the most unconsistent perk of the game, it would be a middle strength perk but it s hex nature makes it a bit more than a joke.
Now my question is, if old ruin needed a nerf cos it was too strong (???), maybe now it needs a buff being barely noticable?
I'm a rank 1 killer, and I use new ruin paired with surveillance in the majority of my killer builds, I didn't use use before it's "nerf".
What I like about new ruin is that I don't have to waste time kicking generators when it's up. When paired with surveillance it becomes a great tracking perk, and it helps me to provide generator pressure, as I know which generator is being worked on.
New Ruin is not a bad perk, it's now become one of my favourite killer perks in the game. To make the most of new Ruin you have to constantly push survivors off generators.

I don't disconnect when I see party streamers, but I do close the application during the offering screen, so no one loses their offerings, and I don't lose my rank. Survivors do it for moris, so I can do it for party streamers and map offerings I don't like.

Disagree.
High level Freddy play requires mastering mid chase gen teleport and mid chase gen teleport mind games. Against the best of the best survivors there is inherent risk in screwing that up if a player doesn’t develop the necessary judgment on when/when not to do either strategy, particularly with the large cooldown before Freddy can make such a play again.
Yes to be able be a good Freddy does a take a lot of skill and practice, although I'm not at that level as Freddy yet. I know as killer even against average/mediocre survivors, a single mistake can cost you the game. Most of the time I can pinpoint the moment that lost me the game as killer.
I'm still trying to learn how to play Freddy optimally, yet I'm doing well against good survivors. I'm even winning games where I felt I probably would not of won if I was playing as one of my mains.
Maybe it's because Freddy fits my preferred play style, as I heavily focus on trying to push survivors off generators, only committing to survivors if I believe I can down them quickly.
-
Where did I mention that he needed to be nerfed? I even said I think he's fine how he is.
This post is about that Freddy isn't hard to pick up and be able to play as Freddy at a high level. Whereas Spirit has the reputation of being easy to learn, which I disagree with. She's one of the hardest killers to learn compared to other killers.
I currently don't know how to play Spirit, I plan to try and master her after rank reset as I'm not comfortable trying to learn how to play as Spirit at rank 1. Whereas, I don't have that issue with Freddy.
I'm a Hillbilly main, it took me a lot of practice to be able to be a good Hillbilly (even then on bad days I have to resort to playing as an M1 Billy). I deranked so I could learn how to play as new Doctor.
However, I was able to just start playing as Freddy at rank 1 without too many issues. I struggled in my first few games, but after that I had no issues with him.
-
I agree.
In most high rank games the killer will ignore the strongest looper, it's unlikely the killer will commit to the strongest survivor for a long period of time. However, if the strongest looper BM's the killer it may tilt the killer, and the killer may commit to chasing that survivor against their better judgement.
I'm a rank 1 killer whilst normally I just ignore survivors bm's, as if their t bagging me they aren't doing gens. However, I've found myself getting tilted and committing to survivors I should know better not to commit to, which costs me the game.
----
Although if you're playing as Feng MIn, don't bother t bagging I don't know how anyone can get tilted by a Feng Min. I just give t bagging Feng Min's the hatch.

Please remember this is my opinion, you can say whatever you want in the comments about where you think killers go, and how you would change my opinion on certain killers
Note: I like to post and read tier lists and I hope you do to, it is fun and interesting to see what other people’s opinions are!
I'd personally put clown at C tier (low C tier), just purely how he can counter loops and in my opinion he's stronger then Legion. I've gone against some really good Clowns, where at some loops I was powerless to do anything.
I personally rate Demo higher then Myers, due to Demo's potential map pressure. I know Myers is really good for mindgames, but I really struggle to play Myers at red ranks, that's because I'm really bad with Myers.
I'd put Trapper in C tier, as he takes too long to set up. Time which often the killer doesn't have.
Other then that I'd say it's a good tier list.
