sorry about the writing, i was kind of angry when i wrote this, its quite therapudic to complain and get your emotions out, the fact that expressing emotions and being angry is looked down upon sucks. but i have been watching videos, and i have been getting a lot better, and the reason i chased them for so long is anger, the constant stuns and such makes you angry and makes you want to kill that person more, and when you try to do that and they counter it with a single skill check sucks.

Playing killer is stressful, I actually have a stress ball at hand when I play killer.

Getting stunned by pallets is actually a good thing, it means you're forcing the survivors to use pallets. Less pallets on the map the easier it is to down survivors. The journey to becoming a good killer is not respecting pallets.

Also when survivors are being ######### (flashlight clicking spam, noise notifications, t bagging) whilst it's annoying they're not doing generators. I focus on the survivors who are doing generators.

Remember try your best to stay calm when playing killer, try not let yourself get triggered. If you're stressed you're more likely to make mistakes.

Sorry for any grammar issues in this post, I have insomnia and I'm struggling to sleep.

I like this game, i have 26 hours in the past week, which is a lot for me, and theres something thats been bugging me. and its mainly about balance and toxicity. i play killer and survivor evenly, but i have to force myself to play killer, and thats because playing killer is a nightmare. you dont feel lie a strong tyrant, you feel like youre just trying as hard as possible to not get bullied. and the fact is i really dislike things about playing killer. i got ran around for 5 generators and when i finally caught them, they decisive striked me and got out. generators get done too quickly, and since they nerfed hex ruin into oblivion, theres no way to stop survivors. infinites are annyoying and you can only catch them with chase oriented killers. this means my favorite killers, (trapper and hag) are extremely hard to play. and i like a challenge yknow?, i mean dark souls is one of my favorite games of all time, but, they make dark souls fair, and fix underlying issues, you can beat the game, by just being good and knowing how to play well. but thats not how this game works, there are so many issues, and instead of fixing them, they just add a perk to counter it, then people complain about the perk, and it gets nerfed. playing killer is fun, but in the end its just going to make you feel bad. i always end the night on a game where there was toxic plays, constant looping, swf and other things that suck. just playing against swf sucks because theyre coordinating, and when that happens you get stomped. a mass murderer gets beaten by some idiots with flashlights and decisive strike, i think that decisive needs a rework, because its not fun, you give up 2 generators or more for nothing, absolutely nothing because of decisive, you dont feel like a killer, you feel helpless. and the fact that you cant counter decisive is why it needs a rework. it requires no skill, for a massive reward, and coming from tf2, that was common, and it was fixed. in summary, they need to rework decisive so that it requires skill and has a good reward, and they need to add perks for killers, that slow down generator repair rates, or just slow down the game in general.

Your post is hard to read to due to the lack of paragraphs.

From what I gathered from reading your post, you shouldn't be chasing one survivor for five generators. If you're having issues downing a particular survivor, abandon the chase and look for another survivor whose probably easier to down.

You seem to be very new to the game, whilst the game does have it's imbalance issues. I think you're biggest issue is due to your lack of experience. It's naturally that an inexperienced player will struggle against experienced players.

They're's a lot of tutorials available on Youtube to help you get better.

Why would anyone feel bad for the new guy 😂 if he’s learning the ropes still who cares he probably isn’t going to win the match anyways. Let him train. No I don’t feel bad for anyone that plays this except for survivors. I don’t feel bad for killers because YOU ARE OUT THERE BY YOURSELF. You have nobody to rely on so it’s totally on YOU not to make mistakes. As for survivors I have experienced countless times where I get hooked, unhooked immediately after and re-hooked. The game lags and my character dies on struggle phase because for some reason they would rather have us smash A or Space bar than do skill checks. There are way more frustrating things about playing survivor. Proxy hook camping, tunneling. It’s just not fun a lot of the time. But wait... we should feel bad for the killer who is learning how to play? Feel bad for people playing killer that’s getting bullied with in game items and momentum changing stun plays? No. Thats ridiculous.

I see you don't play killer (at red ran ranks).

Maybe learn to play killer properly, if you think its fine to tunnel or camp. I got to rank 1 as Trapper only without resorting to such pathetic methods. Its pretty easy.

I personally play extremely fair when I play killer, I don't camp or tunnel. Although I personally have the mindset that the killer can play however they like.

However, I always see your posting extremely survivor biased posts, which makes me not believe that you play killer at rank 1.

I think you need to watch this video by Scott Jund:

So I've been lurking these threads after these pyramid head nerfs and I keep seeing every survivor respond in the exact same way like a hivemind. I can get behind the nerf where the cage spawns elsewhere, I cannot get behind the nerf where PH cant see the aura of the cage. Can survivors begin to understand that one low rank pyramid head tunneling people does not mean that pyramid head is a killer that deserves to have their tools neutered because a possible application of their ability is tunneling/camping. An example of this is legion, Legion is not a tunneling killer because his design encourages going after groups and clumps of survivors, not individuals. I wish survivors could understand how much of a disadvantage it is to essentially not be able to see a hook, so caging people is actively giving up pressure now. If nothing else, I wish for pyramid head mains to gain compensation and buffs, Ill make a post later on a pyramid head rework/buff.

Back on the topic of survivors not contributing to conversations, survivors make no efforts to actually understand how hard these nerfs are, to survivors, these nerfs will make pyramid head hook more often. To killers, an interesting killer has been essentially lost a huge part of their pressure, and now has to play the game in a much more orthodox manner. This nerf will not end tunneling, this nerf will just make pyramid head tunnelers just throw you on hooks and then tunnel you.

Now heres WHY these nerfs are rough on pyramid head. This is not just a crippling to the option of tunneling through the nerf of the cage despawning. Removing the ability to tunnel is always rough for killers. The taking away of the cage aura is the worst part. Survivors can still see the cage aura, while the killer cant, essentially making it so the survivors have more information from the killers power than the killer. A survivor can effectively uncage someone and start stealthing and before pyramid head could at least have a good idea that now 2 survivors are coming from that cage, but now by uncaging then stealthing, 2 survivors have essentially become unknowns. This also makrd it hard for PH to properly capitalize on the potential advantage of stripping survivors of certain perks due to the Pyramid head being forced to ignore cages. Pyramid heads playstyle has become less freeform due to this, instead of choosing if to cage or not to cage, then if you should then go to the cage or patrol gens, PH will likely only cage as a last resort when surrounded by flashlights or to dodge an obvious DS. This makes his playstyle much less interesting and makes him play like an orthodox killer more often than not, which if you really think of it, Orthodox is not what you should expect from either silent hill or dead by daylight.

This all just infuriates me to no end. I remember joking about the 4th anniverary killer being pyramid head but threw the concept away because it was too far of a reach. I wanted pyramid head far more than any other killer in this game and I was excited when I saw how cool his power seemed. I find it incredibly annoying for survivors to just try to deflect the ridiculousness of the nerfs with saying things like “Just dont tunnel or play scummy” or things of that nature. Pyramid head did not need these nerfs, at all.

I've mostly only been sending people to the cage/final judgement on their final hook, so this nerf won't make much difference to my play style.

    @LetsPlayTogether said:

There is nothing to understand if you try to defend tunneling and camping. Why do Killers always want to play like a scumbag?

Seriously, I keep seeing your posts and they are always extremely survivor biased, to point I believe you're trying to troll.

I highly suggest you try playing killer at red ranks.

I personally want shaggy but I wouldn't be surprised if they chose fred as the base survivor and made the rest of the gang legendary skins

Shaggy would be too overpowered to be in the game, he'll probably have perks that will allow him to be able to use DS more then once, and one that will allow him to immediately recover from exhaustion.

Plus I heard that Shaggy use to be in the game but the Devs had to remove him.

So youre so much entitled to winning in a game that you just dont care if other players only get frustrated by your doings. Thats sad.

Where did I say that I do not care about my opponent's enjoyment?

When I play killer I'll go out of my way to play as fair as possible, how is that not caring about my opponent's enjoyment?

However, sometimes I can't afford to go by the "survivor rule book for killers" and I'll have to play more ruthless. Sometimes when you're playing against a strong team you have no choice but to play more ruthless.

    EDIT:

    @BaldursGate2 said:

Basically more than 100 hours on killer, less than 80 hours on survivor.

Not being funny but if you only have 180 hours in the game, you're still new to the game. So you're not in the position to understand the balance of the game.

Apart from Freddy there isn't any killers that need a nerf.

If anything Nurse needs a buff.

The biggest issues with the game are due to the devs balancing the game around rank 20 when they should be balancing the game around rank 1.

  • @FreezingStop321 said:

Let me preface this by saying that I am pretty bad at the game, as I have just come back for the event after about a 5 month or so break. I also do not hate Gen rushing survivors or good loopers because they are just doing their job. Whenever I play survivor and I get survivors that capitalize on Killer containment by actually doing their job I nut in my pants. I am just trying to ask the billy and nurse mains (and others, idk the meta) if a really good team is stoppable if they spread out correctly with a resourceful looper. If so, anything that you guys do to help the situation(probably won't apply to me because I don't play billy, nurse, etc.) i.e. not chasing some survivors if they are not worth the time/map pressure depending on their available tools to waste your time.

I'm asking this because I want to have the solace that I should play who's fun (Deathslinger is satisfying) and not really care about the 4 minute matches, or possibly learn to adapt. (Which is nice that the "bad" games only last a little amount of time)

Also asking in the context that it is all solo queue. Because SWF is either easy if you keep calm due to overaltruism or next to impossible due to the level of objective coordination (Though they usually don't do this from "experience" because they just want to have fun with friends).

Just something that crossed my mind, no hate towards either side. I respect the good survivors (because they are usually few and far between honestly), and salute killers that make the best of tough situations and even come on top a lot of the time.

How experienced are you at the game, as if you're still relatively inexperienced it's natural you'll struggle against experienced survivors. Likewise how inexperienced survivors struggle against experienced killers.

The biggest mistake I notice killers make even at high ranks is that they do not know when to abandon a chase. If you're in a chase where the survivor is looping optimally, whilst not using many pallets, abandon the chase, and look for someone else. There's probably a weak link, or even a strong survivor out of position you can down quickly.

With killer you got to juggle, as you got to remember it's 4v1 not a 1v1. If you focus on chasing one survivor, the other three survivors are free to work on generators without any pressure.

It's possible to win against a strong survivor team. Today I won I against a competitive SWF (The type of survivors that compete in tournaments), I was playing as Pyramid Head on Springwood.

On the other hand I've also lost to mediocre survivors, often due to the map RNG. Even the best killers (Adretha, Tru3talent, Otzdarva) lose to medicore survivors on certain maps (Disturb Ward, Ormond, Haddonfield).

EDIT: You can use any killer, to win against strong teams, if you put enough time and effort into them. For example Doctor is a B tier killer, but he's my strongest killer as he's my main. I can also do well with Leatherface and Pig who are considered quite weak, as I know they're powers well I can perform well with them.

I use to be Billy main before his bugs.

I'm rank 1 survivor and in red ranks there are a loooooot of campers and tunnelers 😂

I just don't see how a killer can afford to waste their to time stand over a slugged survivor for 60 seconds, unless it's at low ranks.

I could down a survivor extremely quickly, and carry them to the basement. The time it took me to do that two gens could have been completed.

I'm a rank 1 survivor too, but I rarely play against red rank killers that camp and tunnel (camping and tunneling are often bad strategies, often those strategies are a sure way to throw the game).

I tried the DS + Unbreakable combo, it failed because the killer camp and slug my body until my DS timer is done, or waiting for me to used Unbreakable.

But when I used other builds like Lithe + danse with me, the killer don't waste his time and change target.

Or when I used MoM, the killer think I'm dumb dehooking injured in front of him, but he don't know I can take another hit...

I can use many example but I think the best way to deal with a killer is to use unexpected perks.

PS : I don't know why but when u edited a post on this forum it delete it, so it's my third try... Sorry if you see multiple posts, Im not sure I'm respond is post.

I don't think any red rank killer can afford to stand over a slugged person for 60 seconds.

The fact that the killer is forced to slug the survivor to avoid being hit with DS, means DS is doing it's job.

Just curious are you even playing at red ranks?

azarov's resting place, i was moving from west-east what is about 40m maybe (I did some quick math)

TBH it sounds like you need to improve your killer gameplay rather then it has to do with gen rushers. Don't take this the wrong, everyone has areas to improve. I've been a rank 1 killer for nearly two years, and I know my tracking could still do with improving.

Azarov's resting place is actually quite balanced, if you're a low mobility killer you can just stay on one side of the map, somewhat neglect the other generators on the other side.

Azarov's Resting place is one of my favourite maps to play on as killer.

I personally use the Hex Ruin and Surveillance combo on the majority of my killers.

I agree there needs to be something done with gen times, but I still don't think you needed to disconnect. It sounded like they were on their way to 3/4 gen themselves.

The only thing that made you earn them was playing the game at this time. The Objectives (Hooks and Generators) were nothing special - just usual gameplay.

I guess you didn't play against Doctors that just guarded the Summer BBQ Event gens, or Kates' running to corners of the map so you couldn't put them on an event hook.

  • I remember a while ago I had a survivor DC against me at the start, so I farmed with the other 3 survivors. At the end of the game I got flamed by one of the survivors for "not playing properly".

I had a Spirit get mad at me because I said good game at the end of the match (I looped them for five gens, still it's not like I wrote "GG ez")

My personal favourite is when a survivor is looping around the hooked survivor, I'll get called a camper at the end of the game. What do they expect me to do in that situation?

hahahaha I'm not even a killer main, I play both sides.

I didn't say that survivors shouldn't be able to play with their friends, I said that SWF is easy.

If I want to play competitively I play solo, if I want to goof around I play SWF

Because I'm sure Ussylis sees a insta-saw billy with a mori and the strongest build possible and says "Aw yeah this is gonna be an amazing match"

I don't think a mori is fun on any killer. You didn't state anything with a do with Mori's in your original post.

If we're using Ussylis as an example, Ussylis often states in his videos that one of his favourite killers to play against is Hillbilly. A lot of killers at red ranks use add ons (I personally rarely use add ons), the most common addon combo people use on Hillbilly is insta saw.

Insta saw Billy is not over powered, it's easily countered by keeping to structures, and staying by loops. If you're having issues dealing with insta saw Billy then that's on you needing to improve your game.

I personally love playing against a good Hillbilly, I always feel like I'm getting adrenaline rush during those games, it's a lot of fun. Plus I use to be a Hillbilly main, so I know how they think.

  • You're right playing SWF is too easy, especially against a new player.

    Maybe play solo?

@SloppyKnockout now this is a bait thread, not my thread where I was just sharing my opinion on the new map.

  • @Raccoon said:

Lots of people complain about how the game "forces" them to play SWF (and I do SWF, too, on occasion), but I enjoy playing solo more.

The stakes are higher (you can die in 1 hook if no one wants to rescue you), randomly bumping into the killer/other survivors has more weight/entertainment value, never knowing if someone else is finishing that generator while you're being chased can be pretty tense, end game can be pretty spooky if you've only personally cleansed a couple of totems and the killer is careening towards you, you have no idea how good your teammates are/how long they can stall, you can have pretty exciting moments where a random saves you with a pallet or Head-On when you though you were donezo, etc.

It's fun to pump out easy games/wins, but for me at least, the value/fun of playing survivor stems from trying to overcome a bunch of unknown variables (killer choice/perks/teammates) while performing as well as I can.

I personally prefer playing solo to SWF too. Even when I'm playing SWF, I prefer to play in Duos then in a four man.

If I want to play competitively I'll play solo, if I want to goof around I'll play SWF. I don't really like playing SWF with players who just want to win, as I don't see the point in try harding in a SWF.

Plus a lot of survivors don't play killer, so sometimes you got to listen to "this killer is OP", "this killer is a try hard" etc.

    @Cabbage said:

I feel like people prefer to play in a swf for 2 reasons. The first being random are extremely unreliable at times, and a lot of the time I personally just get left on the hook, and secondly people just want to have fun with their friends, I don’t know about you but if I die and my friend escapes then I get more satisfaction out the match, but that’s just me.

The best way to improve as a survivor is by playing solo. If you only play SWF, you won't get better at the game.

    @Poweas said:

Try enjoying Solo Queue when you're with a team who constantly cleanses against Plague (even if she's not got her power in any of the pools) and you'll know why people hate it. ;)

I hate playing against Plague when I'm solo. Fortunately Plague is a weak killer, so not many people play as Plague.

  • @D3_destr0y3r said:

I know this sounds kind of crazy, if this were to happen(It won't) then the perk should be altered to exclusively counter tunneling and not just punish killers for getting around to another survivor before the 60 seconds was up. I Would make these changes if this were to happen.

-When another survivor is hooked DS deactivates, Unless the player is in the dying state(So killers can't just knock a survivor straight off the hook then hook the rescuer then hook the player who just got unhooked and have DS not work)

-The Stun from an successful DS would be reduced from 5 seconds to 4

-While the killer is stunned the survivor who inflicted the stun would gain a 20% haste status(for the 4 seconds)

-The DS timer decreases at double the speed when repairing a gen, and at 1.5 times the speed when healing a teammate.

-If a player body blocks/takes a protection hit DS deactivates

Survivors shouldn't have to waste a perk slot just to counter tunnelling, Killers shouldn't be punished for getting survivors downed before 60 seconds after their last hook when they already hooked somebody else.

    The Killer Side:

This is a significant survivor buff so should the killers get a buff if this were to happen? On one hand this survivor buff technically won't be a buff if the killer in a match doesn't tunnel, Which complicates things. This is a nerf to killers who tunnel, having it effect a killer who doesn't tunnel would be very rare.

I just hate tunnellers, you should too.

(This isn't realistically going to happen & despite only really affecting, tunnelling just isn't fun for either party and I think that it should be harder to tunnel people)

If you're a killer please don't tunnel, arguably some things justify tunnelling like object of obsession or things of that type. But you shouldn't tunnel somebody because they are able to loop.

(This is a crazy idea and I would much prefer seeing new perks that can counter tunnelling)

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BwSts2s4ba4

Killers can't always play nice, sometimes killers have no choice but to tunnel to have any chance to win.

If I'm playing against a strong team, but they have one weak link. Depending how the game is going I might be forced to tunnel the weak link out of the game.

If you're a red rank survivor and you find yourself consistently getting tunneled, there might be a reason to that. It might be due to your ability to loop , if you're at red ranks but don't know how to loop, then of course the killer will focus on you.

Good killers know not to waste too much time chasing a good strong survivor, so if you improve your looping you'll find yourself rarely getting tunneled.

Yeah noed would probably get nerfed too.

Honesty most killers run NOED anyways, so..fair trade.

Bad killers are the ones that mostly run NOED, are you even playing at red ranks? Low rank killers will tunnel, as they don't know any better.

you said survivors were a team and they good

but you all killed at 4gens left.. i just found paradoxy in dictionary

if you didn't played map hacking nurse and 1blink 1hit everytime with red mori

survivors were not even close to good , they are bottom of bottom players beyond potato

They all had good movement (even the weak link wasn't too bad). When you play survivor for as long as I have you can tell whether a survivor is good or not by their movement.

Whilst I was always in control throughout the game, I just had a feeling that the match would have been a lot harder on a different map.

I was using Hex: Ruin and Surveillance, and ruin stayed up for the whole game. Which enabled me to know when they were working on a generator , so I could interrupt their gen progress.

I wasn't playing as Nurse with a mori, I was playing as Doctor without addons (I main Doctor).

Monti isn't a great killer or survivor player tho. He just does fun build videos, that's literally it. If you bring up Scott, well he has an opinion that's based mostly on the sound being bad and only had a few days access to the map as well.

I mean I don't know. As killer and survivor I've both 4kd and escaped on it multiple times, I lost on this map maybe once as killer, but I didn't question the map for that loss because it was against a red squad with a full kit and I had his 3 base perks, not even maxed.. So imo, I think it's a fine map. I'm not having anywhere near the amount of trouble Monte is, that's for sure.

I used Monto as he had the same opinion as me, showing that my opinion wasn't just bait (plus Monto has been playing the game since release).

I personally initially struggled for my first games as killer playing on that map, due to having a nightmare trying to navigate it. However, whilst I still don't know the map very well I'm finding my killer games a lot easier then I would be on any other maps. Even when I go against a strong team on the Silent Hill map I'll still win comfortably.

    @Dr_doom_j2 said:

Psssshh. You cats cannot loop if you actually can't loop this new map... The registration desk to the courtyard and back has so much loop potential of you path it right, but let's just wait and see, because all these hot takes are coming out the wrong end right now

I'm actually a very strong looper, just because I don't know the map tiles to a map that has only been released doesn't make me a bad player. A key part of looping is chase route planning, it's hard to plan a chase route when you don't know the map very well.

Plus I've mainly been playing killer since the Pyramid Head's release, so I haven't had much of a chance to play on the new map as survivor.

They now the general chance is they'll be going against a much lower rank survivor which is why it's always red ranks with a yellow rank (I check profiles)

It sounds like you're still new to the game, you're going have to have rough games against more experienced players. Same for when new survivors go against experienced killers.

Rather then worrying about your rank it's best to focus on improving your game.

It'll get to the point where keeping away from rank 1 is a lot harder then getting to rank 1 as killer.

The long hallways with their god pallets that can extend chases by an additional 60 seconds, to the rooms where the killer is forced to break walls in order to even create a route to survivors, to only having four routes between floors over the incredibly spaced out generators that take minutes of a killers time to patrol?

    Mhmm, killer sided indeed.

I won't deny that the map isn't bad for survivors as well, but to claim it's killer sided? No.

TBH at first I thought the new map was going to be survivor sided, however my opinion changed when I played on it.

You shouldn't be committing to chases for that long anyway.

Granted it's hard to navigate as killer as well.

Nah mate. Maybe for stealth killers and spirit or something. But try play oni. Can't maneuver or snowball due to all the floors and walls. Nurse loses you easily. Billy can't zoom around. Huntress and deathslinger can't get good Los. Not good for some killers but good for others. As a survivor I found it relatively easy to loop. Most pallets were medium safety which actually made me have to think while looping with the occasional god pallet and safe window. I haven't lost a match on it as survivor or killer yet.

I don't play Oni, I wouldn't know. I personally haven't figured how to loop on that map, but I haven't played enough survivor on it.

Just because I'm posting an opinion that differs from your own doesn't make it bait. I got this opinion from playing killer on it, and as I mentioned in my main post I beat a strong team with four gens remaining. If it was on any other map the match would have been a lot harder.

Content creators such as Monto also have the opinion that the new map is survivor sided.

For your first point you completely forget about killer shack and basement. Any Pyramid with above a 20IQ puts down rite at the window and both exit gates. All it takes is a small amount. This means you are being warned at any range when a survivor enters the killer shack for a hook save. You may not be able to do it a certain distant from gens, but there is no issue making a circle around a hook, thereby being able to tunnel and counteract any type of D-Strike by just sending them to the cage right off the ground.

The only perk that it counters in regards to killer is BBQ and Cheater. Which doesn't matter because you are getting a very nice tradeoff in the form of countering all survivor perks, not having to pick up the survivor, and potentially having them go to a distant place, away from gens - this is especially beneficial if you are doing a 3 gen strat.

Your third point, is all subjective. Like my point about it being harder to dodge. However, his attacks can go through any object, unlike death slinger. I don't even like to compare to death slinger since deathslinger is another smooth brained anti-chase killer that is extremely easy to play. He might not have extreme map pressure, but he can shut down any chase easily and is extremely effective around hooks and very powerful with 3 gen strats.

    "BBQ and Cheater"

    Someone doesn't play killer.

So why did you use that name in the first place? It's like someone who is not racist would go out in a racist t-shirt and thinking people will just ignore it.

Are you really comparing toxicity in a video game to racism?

I created a second account, and called it Toxic Survivor. Whilst I'm a strong survivor, I rarely ever t bag, spam my flashlight, and is always respectful to the killer post game. However, the name was just an inside joke with my friends, as I made a lot of killers DC.

    76 devotion 3

I can understand your point of doctor lacking of movement but i think he gains time when you shock survivor to level 3, yeah, is not that good like tp to a gen across the map but as doctor you wont need to move to much

Spirit is like deathslinger for me, spirit is strong but you can gain time if you know she already used her power and if she predicts a little bit wrong (you reach a pallet or move unpredictable without running) so it terms of that, deathslinger is kinda the same with reeling and reloading but he does get punished for failing shots constantly but he doesnt need a mindgame so it's easier ending chases faster afterall

On certain maps, his lack of mobility really effects him if the survivors just focus on holding M1/R1 on a gen.

I've lost to some extremely mediocre survivors playing as Doctor on Springwood, Disturb Ward, Ormund. Mother's dwelling is a pain to play as Doctor too.

I've seen the best killer players (Otzdarva, Tru3talent) lose to extremely mediocre survivors on certain maps.

This is my experience while playing DBD from both sides in rank 1 on xbox:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/ROMNP99ZWKWC/my-image.png

This is a mix of gameplay from survivor perspective and killer perspective... gameplay overall , let me explain (opinion):

F R E D D Y: good addons, short and lullaby that only tells you he's near. Power to shut down loops and disable repairing gens faking tp or after unhooking.

D O C T O R: enough stall and good information, m1 killer but shut down loops making pallets drops earlier or a succesful hit when shocking in the right time.

H A G: bad gen pressure but big map control, 10 traps on the map is always risky but weak against activated traps while carrying or hitting and swf.

B I L L Y: punish people away from windows or pallets, most likely, just m1 a good survivor and juking is risky but not that effective, he has good movement speed so he put good pressure.

H U N T R E S S: bad gen pressure, good chase but mostly depends if the killer is good and if the survivors succesfuly mindgame her.

O N I: strong mid and end game, weak early but doing good mindgames in blood fury most likely gonna carry you and absorb blood where survivors healed is a good way to get your power when passing by.

G H O S T F A C E: good starting chases but he's vulnerable to looping, he punish survivors that dont pay attention with grabs, bad map pressure but snowballs optimally.

D E A T H S L I N G E R: good chase if you land your shots can snowball quickly and can bait the shots. Bad map pressure and he's predictable.

S P I R I T: like deathslinger, she has a good chase and if played correctly you end chases fast and she has good mobility so she has an acceptable pressure. She's weak with windows and pallets since they can be a mindgame and when her power is recovering.

E X E C U T I O N E R: i just play against him once but he has potential to be like the shred of demo and punish your moves if you are predictable and greedy. The torment is kinda whatever because you need to pay attention while walking or running but in chase it's more difficult but i can't explain more.

T R A P P E R: slow start, good snowball and good mid and end game, you just need to put traps around corners of loops or right in the edge of the pallet and you will have a lot of pressure. If you have been spotted the survivor will disarm your trap and dead hard avoids traps under pallets.

L E G I O N: strong early game but weak mid (good if you could stall in the start because they will spend time mending and healing or just be injured wich is easier to end chases) and end game. Punish survivors that are together and his counter is running away once he stab someone with feral frenzy to waste his whole power.

C L O W N: his buff make him one tier up, he feels dinamic and strong in chases but lacks of map pressure and mobility even being a 4.6 m/s killer, he needs to reload his bottles wich takes time and the little slowdown makes plus 1 sec.

M Y E R S: weak early but strong mid and end game, his counter is hidin in jungle gyms. Again, punish survivors that dont pay attention. Strong addons tho.

W R A I T H: purely a m1 killer and he has good addons, like ghostface he most likely gonna hit you if you dont see him but overall, he can be countered by looping or spine chill. Healing against him is good but in a safe spot otherwise you are done with a hit.

D E M O G O R G O N: he's okay, kinda slow start but has good mobility and chase potential with shred and baiting it. He's easily countered by cleansing his portals in the corners where the gens at and kinda looping.

P L A G U E: weak at the start but once everyone is infected he's like an infinite t3 myers and cleansing makes her huntress on stereoids. She's countered by the early gen rush and cleansing in the corner where nothing is there. Besides that, she's a m1 killer.

N U R S E: it's very rare seeing a good nurse, most of the time you face baby nurse or mediocre nurse and since she's the most counterable killer by moving unpredictable and taking distance makes her worst to play as.

B U B B A: worst killer by far, no map pressure, mobility and chase power, he only end chases faster, his counters are windows, pallets and tiny structures. He's better with the bulp and carbo guide add ons but then, you dont have to be greedy and dont fall for an easy mindgame so always watch him and try to figure out what he is going to do.

    Thoughts??

    Doctor S tier?

As someone who mains Doctor, Doctor is in no shape of form an S tier killer. He's a very good killer, he has great tracking and great at shutting down loops. However, due to his lack of mobility he can't be an S tier killer, he really struggles on some maps.

With Doctor, you really need to play him to know his weaknesses.

Why is spirit so low, she's the strongest killer on console (along with Freddy).

Deathslinger, is too high in my opinion. He's great at shutting down loops, however he power just takes too much time. When you hit a survivor, you have to reel them in which takes time, then you have to reload which also takes time.

Just curious what is your player level?

So I was injured running up the side of dead dawg saloon and i fast vault into the upstairs room of the saloon. Upon entering the room I was trapped all 3 doors spawned as breakable doors for the killer, killer was chasing me and vaulted the window so hes body blocking it, i literally just put the controller down cuz there was nothing I could do. Pretty good job so far

The room's fine, if the killer breaks the walls it creates an infinite.

It sounds like the killer just blocking window, keeping you in that room is just wasting the killers time. Which allows your team to work on generators.

A thing I like to do sometimes is if I'm injured I'll go into that room, jump into a locker. If the killer grabs me he can't hook me, he'll have to drop me. To break the walls so he can try to carry me to a hook. Often it allows me to wiggle free, which wastes even more of the killers time.

That room is great if you have head on too.

With killer you're constantly against an imaginary timer, a single mistake can cost you the game.

EDIT: Going by your post, it sounds like you just vaulted that window without much of a plan. It's best to plan a chase route, you'll do a lot at evading the killer if you have a chase route in mind. Rather then just running aimlessly.

For example: When I'm working on a generator I look around the area to have an idea where I'm going if the killer spots me, where I plan to run to afterwards, and so on.

  • @Orion said:

No. Nerfing SWF will not work, you need to buff solos and then either buff killers or nerf survivors on the whole.

As someone who when they play survivor mainly plays solo, solo survivor doesn't need a buff. You don't need communication to know if you're not being chased you should be working on a generator.

When it comes to unhooking in solos it's all about game sense, if there's a healthy survivor and the rest are injured they should be the ones going for the save. If I'm on the other side of the map doing a generator I shouldn't be the one going for the save.

The biggest issue with solo is you often get team mates that don't belong in red ranks, this has increased since the current rank reset system was implemented. The best way to buff solo survivors is to bring back the old rank reset system.

Personally I think SWF shouldn't be able to use OoO and maybe DS. That's how I would nerf SWF, by locking certain perks.

Yes, I know Pyramid Head has only been out for 2 days, but I think I've got a good idea of where he lies on the list. A month down the road when survivors pick up on his counterplay I might change my stance, but for right now he feels like a B to me since he lacks map pressure. What he has that makes him a B is time management & an alright anti-loop tool.

    My controversial takes explained:

Myers - he is so outdated with crap add-ons overall. Ghost Face has more reliable stalking for instadowns, & honestly stalking isn't even the effective way to play GF.

Wraith - if you don't commit to every chase, I feel like Wraith can be nasty. He is add-on dependent, but he honestly has some of the best add-ons of the killers. His playstyle is versatile as well.

Deathslinger - his power has potential in chase, but survivors seem to know how to dodge it & keep from being reeled in. He is the worst 110% killer.

Freddy - now I don't think everyone will disagree with me on where he is, but there will people who say Hillbilly is better. Freddy has crazy gen & map pressure with his teleport. He has anti-loop & mindgame abilities. He counters Borrowed Time by doing nothing. His lunge is either broken or deceptive (devs said the animation doesn't match the normal range, still a problem that needs fixing). He isn't add-on dependent, & they only just make him stronger. Hillbilly can instadown, can be dodged & looped like any other killer.

    *THIS IS MY OPINION

**Feel free to put your thoughts below

As someone who mains Doctor I would personally put Doc at B tier due to his lack of mobility. He really struggles on maps like Springwood, Ormund, and Disturb ward.

I'd put Demo lower down on the C tier list as in my opinion he's one of the weakest killers in the game.

    @Lumionesty said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/162388/tierlist-for-killers-as-of-patch-4-0-0

I’ll go through what I disagree with, meanwhile the rest I agree with

    1. Hillbilly should be switched with Freddy. Hillybilly just has so much mobility making a presence on all generators even if he isn’t in the area. He can also be a menace at loops with his curving and insta downs. While I agree Freddy is A tier he isn’t better then Billy.
    2. Move Doctor down to mid B tier. While he does significant anti loop potential, there are a lot of loops where against a good survivor his therapy is nearly useless. Combine this with the fact that he doesn’t down people very quickly and he’s not A tier quality imo. He does however have a game slowdown and a finding tool built into his kit.
    3. Move Huntress down to low B tier. This is probably always been my controversial opinion, but Huntress is honesty overrated. It’s because of the fact that survivors can do so much against her. There are many loops where a hatchets are useless and she becomes a basic 110 Killer. Survivors can just do so much to counter her. I do have to mention that her add ons are fantastic though.
    4. Move Hag right above ONI. Hag can be an absolute monster. Her ability to snowball of hooks is probably the best in the game. Watch someone like Michi play Hag and you’ll see how disgusting she is. The biggest thing with Hag is the fact that most people don’t know how to play her. Your not supposed to commit to chases with Hag, instead you’re supposed to set up a web and have survivors come to you. The only thing holding Hag back is her vulnerability to flashlights.
    5. Replace Wraith with Demo. While I believe some people do underrate Wraith a bit I thing you’re placing him to high meanwhile I believe you underage Demo. Demo for 1 has a great chase ability. His shred when use correctly is able to either gain a hit or force a pallet within a max of 10 seconds of being at loop. It just very strong when you use it zone, break pallets and force survivors to where you want them to. Meanwhile his portals when set up correctly allow him to traverse the map very quickly, which allows him to pressure survivors of gens consistently. The problem with Wraith is that he needs Windstorm to be a part of his basekit. Then the problem with including add ons on Wraith is that you then need to include them for other killers as well. Which makes this tier list very different. This means Infantry belt for Huntress, tombstone piece for Myers, rusty shackles for Hag, Topnot for ONI, black incense for Plague, etc.... I’m fine with including add ons of lower rarity when ranking a killer. However Wraith needs higher tier add ons to achieve viability which knocks him down below other killers.
    6. Rest of tier list is mostly fine with only minor changes.

Demo isn't very strong against good survivors, I'm quite a strong survivor myself I've never had much issues dealing with shred and him teleporting (due to the massive sound and animation give aways). In my opinion Demo needs a buff.

i dont want to sound dumb I just bought the game and bought the cursed legacy and demise of the faithful. Any tips on using those killers and the survivors because so far ive been unsuccessful and either everyone escapes or i get like 1 hook.

Are you on the PS4, if so I will be willing to coach you if you like (As long as you're over 18)?

Have you played the tutorials yet, they give you a basic understanding of the killer mechanics?

These videos may be old but most of it's relevant on DBD structures and how to deal with common loops.

    Structure video by Ohtofu:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p6QYjInzLeM

Painreliever video on how to deal with common loops:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Jrv7TQYg5U

If you skip to 4:14 in Painreliever video, a lot of new killers and some experienced killers often waste too much time trying to change direction on safe filler pallet loops (debris loops). This often causes the killer to waste so much time at the filler pallet without the survivor having to even drop the pallet. It sometimes works if the survivor isn't paying attention, but as mentioned in Painreliever's video it's best to just run it normally as killer (in my opinion).

Getting pallet stunned isn't a bad thing, as killer you want survivors to use up the good pallets as early as possible. Respecting pallets will allow survivors to continue using that pallet for longer. If you improve your timing you can hit the survivor as they drop the pallet.

At rank 20 most survivors you'll play against will be new as well (unless they're smurfs). However, it's best not to waste too much time chasing a good looper, you should focus on the weaker survivors that don't know how to loop. You can tell from the get go whether a survivor is good looper or not by their movement (this comes with experience).

Camping and tunneling are often bad strategies, you'll often throw the game by doing these strategies as you're wasting too much time on one survivor allowing the other survivors to work on the generators without any pressure. Also with tunneling you run the risk of being hit with DS, as you rank up you can't afford to take a DS stun.

  • @raygerrr said:

First let me start off by saying that I love playing survivor! Playing survivor has so many fun aspects, so I encourage killers to play survivor at least once. However, I saw myself getting so upset so much at killers for killing me while playing survivor, therefore I took the time to play as killer to understand the game More and to see their point of view. When I tell you I felt so horrible for getting upset at those killers that killed me after playing killer for a while, it was unsettling. Being a killer is stressful, you have four different people that have completely different ways they play the game. You have to kill them all and thats WITH a bunch of perks that you don't know if they have or not (especially if they're play with friends). I worried about focusing on downing and hooking someone before a gen popped because it seemed like they had the advantage and literally could hide in plain sight. From there, once I hit a person they got a sprint burst and was able to get to a pallet located close to them. Survivors have bushes, fog and walls to stop you from seeing them while they can see you and take that advantage to hide. I didn't realize that playing in first person was a lot more difficult than third when seeing their surroundings, therefore they have to rely more on hearing and seeing you at a glimpse hoping that they didn't just misread the situation. Once playing killer, I realized that its not as easy as it may seem to kill survivors. Yes they may more a bit faster but its for a reason. I just want to apologize to the killers I've gotten upset at in the past because now as someone thats been on the other side, its not nearly as easy as previously thought. Now when a killer kills me, I have respect for them for having the will and using game theory to foresee what the survivor may do and playing a good play to down them. To my survivors, don't be upset that someone kills you. Play as killer at least once and you will realize that its a lot harder for them to get you than you may think. Dont bully killers by t-bagging and being an annoying a-hole, knowing you have perks that will get you out of any situation, that will get you face camped because you kinda deserve it tbh. To killers, I resect your gameplay and just know I understand why you face camp and tunnel. Its because either they're being toxic or because they're getting gens done WAYYY too quick. Its smart! Survivors, if a killer face camps or tunnels while all of the gens are done and everyone BUT the one survivor are healed, would you let them go? An honest answer would be no. Personally I try to get others regardless but I understand why those people do it. I know I may get a lot of hate due to the amount of survivors vs. killers in the game but I wanted to let you all know how I feel.

    Sincerely,

    Raygerrr

Yeah, but how many matches would you have to play to do that?..... As I said, I was playing at most 3 or 4 hours per week. Some weeks it was less than that. Some weeks I didn't get to play at all. I was probably averaging 20 matches in a whole month. Seeing as there are 32 pips between 16 and 9 I would have had to average 1.6 pips per match to get from 16 to 9 in a months time. Considering I wasn't averaging 1.6 pips per match that didn't happen. I did pip most matches, but 20 matches in a month doesn't get you very far. I would actually drop 3 or 4 ranks in the very limited matches I played and then lose 3 or so to rank reset each month. That's a net gain of 1 rank per month.

I got to rank 1 from rank 5 as survivor in two nights, it's a lot harder to pip at red ranks then it is at yellow and green ranks. I probably only played 5 to 6 days as survivor last season. I just double pip a lot.

I'm not someone who plays DBD every day, I'll often go weeks without playing DBD. For me it's harder to stay away from rank 1 then it is to get to rank 1.

Anyway rank doesn't matter in this game, before the rank reset changes it's only purpose was to separate the casual players from the competitive players. With this current rank reset system it doesn't even do that, due to how easy it is to get to red ranks on both sides.

  • @WheresTheGate said:

A few months after I first started playing rank reset took me from rank 9 to 16. I didn't get to play very often back then. If I got to play 3 hours during the weekend it was a lot. It had taken me several months to get to 9. I would gain 3 or 4 ranks every month and lose 2 or 3 to rank reset. It was really frustrating. Took me almost 6 months to get back to a 9 after that. Never knew why I got pushed back so far on that one.

How does it take you 6 months to get back to rank 9?

It's incredibly easy to pip at yellow, green, purple ranks. Plus the players at that level aren't very good.

For example I got reset to rank 17 as killer, I still got back to rank 1 in the same season.

  • Oh no survivors won't be able to use communication in some games, the tragedy.

Ok, twice today, I ran the killer for 4 gens, keep looping him and then I see a pallet near an undone gen, that's the only place for me to go to keep the safe looping, I go there and a surv is hidding (no noise from gen being even started), the killer notices the other surv and OF COURSE the killer dropped the chase and chased, downed and facecamped the other survivor...

Post game messages "sandbagger AH", "You getting reported".

My answers were "I ran the killer for 4 gens, ran into you BY ACCIDENT and I'm a sandbagger? My back hurts cause of carrying the team man..."

Running into someone whyle in a chase BY ACCIDENT is not sandbagging, did they actually believe I ran the killer for 4 gens and then tried to sandbag? COME ON!

As someone spends the majority of their time being chased by the killer. The fact they were hiding instead of working on a generator, means they were more useful to the team being camped than they were in a healthy state.

It amazes me how people at red rank still don't know that they shouldn't hide at looping areas.

I had a friend who urban evaded to a jungle gym (I watched him with bond) where I was looping the killer, then complained that I sandbagged him (He's been playing DBD since 2017).

Btw you just said Nea, Megs and Claudettes are the worst teammates. Guess who are three of the most popular survivors, due in part to being free and in part because they've been in the game for years. You'll see less toxic Yuis, Zarinas, etc because they cost money or shards and are brand new therefore you'll see less of them overall.

Megs' and Claudettes' have a reputation for being bad team mates.

Nea's always seem to be the worse. It's always a Nea urban evading at the edge of the map despite being a rank 4. Or Neas' trying to be toxic but failing miserably.

I facecamp with him anyway, so highly unlikely i bump into objects.

Those addons aren't great for camping either, acceleration in this game is barely noticeable. As you're camping Begrimed chains become worthless as well as that survivor won't get off the hook to suffer from the mangled effect. You're better off using no addons then using those two addons.

The best addons to use on Leatherface for the basement bubba build are cool down addons. For example carburettor tuning guide and the primer bulb would be a better addon combo.

Going by your player level you're still relatively new to the game. Leatherface has been one of the killers I've been maining at rank 1 for nearly two years.

    EDIT:

I just noticed you were using Franklins Demise instead of Agitation. I would replace Franklins Demise with Agitation, the basement Bubba build consists of: Insideous, Agitation, Iron Grasp, Noed.

  • Leatherface is one of the killers I main.

Despite being Leatherface's rarest addons, those addons are probably Leatherface's weakest addons. You're better off playing without addons then using those two addons.

Award Winning Chilli: If you bump into an object with this addon, it's roughly five seconds of Bubba in his tantrum (bumping into an object with this addon at red ranks can cost you the game). To make things worst the benefit of this addon isn't even noticeable.

Begrimed Chain: Is kinda pointless too, as if you down a survivor you're either hooking them or slugging them. By the time they are rescued, healed, and start working on a generator the mangled status will be near it's end.

The best addons to use on Leatherface are addons that reduce the charge and cooldown time.

    EDIT:

IMO the ugliest thing in this game is the close cut hair cosmetic on Nea (Elvis hair Nea).

I would like to start, when I get game as killer, I’m jumping up and down, excited, easy win and I have a great ######### time with any killer. Easy 3/4K.

Survivor is a different story, only today did I put my finger on it as to why I don’t like it. Took me a while, as like I just said but I’ve figured it out.

You don’t know if a pallet is at a location unless you make it to the tile

Over half of the pallets on the map are what I would call “Semi Hidden” You’re in a chase, and you know a pallet can spawn somewhere to you run to the location

You turn that corner and whoops

    That pallet didn’t spawn

Or even worse, it did, but you didn’t even see it broken until you get there. That’s the annoyance. Im a Rank 3 solo survivor on Xbox, and this map still gives me the most trouble and I dread it. The loops on the map ARE STRONG

    Let me repeat

    THE. LOOPS. ARE. STRONG.

if you do make it to the pallet, it’s a strong pallet and you can loop the killer/stun them and run away. But again, on bottom or top floor You can look around and the other pallets are hidden, and it’s open area.

The only option you have on that map are pallets

This is why Lery’s Is a good map for killers, and survivors. It has pallets, which are hidden, but it gives windows as a second means of countering

    Game as so few windows.

overall the map has issues, blatant ones and I don’t know how to fix them.

If you’re a god survivor, very aware and able to to know where the pallets spawn, and how to really play the game map, by all means I give you the upmost respect,

But for the majority of the survivors it’s a map the dread when they see it

Thanks for listening to my rant.

Whilst the map is a killer sided map, it has some good loops.

I the game map use to be my least favourite map, but I learnt it's layout and now I'm very comfortable being able to loop it.

They still gonna die. I will play as scummy as necessary to make sure of that.

I created a cult dedicated the face camping Nea's with the close cut cosmetic (Elvis hair Nea). They're often bad team mates too.

Let me guess you play as the Doctor?

Even if there bad teammates you dont need to ruin there experince just because there new to the game

tunneling them and flexing about it on the fourms is a bit cringy unless this is (hopefully) a joke

Tbh if they're new to the game then they shouldn't be in red rank games.

Even if the OP isn't joking, playing killer is stressful and if he plans to target a specific character it's probably his way to blow steam. The game then becomes a lot less stressful as his only goal is to sacrifice a specific survivor, rather then caring about the result of the match.

I feel this when I play trapper.

Whenever I am a survivor and get trapped, I will struggle 13 times and never get out. LOL

Whenever I play Trapper I feel like people struggle 3 times max and they are out.

Clearly every trapper I face is using trap addons. LOL but it feelsbadman.

I can hardly ever escape from a trap when I play a survivor, but when I play Trapper the survivors get untrapped within seconds.

Same when I play against the Pig, it's always takes either 3 or four boxes before I get the trap off my head.

  • Not everyone knows how to speak English.

Plus I live in England, where often depending where someone is from it's even hard to understand someone when they are speaking English.

I was thinking that it would be a good idea or at least fairer to allow in game voice chat so survivors can communicate on SWF level if they choose, then we would be able to buff killers more to deal with communication.

What (hopefully sensible and calm) thoughts do people have around this?

I've posted something similar before, not everyone is from North America. An an in game voice chat in a European or an Asian server will have a lot of language barrier so the in game voice chat would be pointless.

Plus there's already enough toxicity when the game only has messenger or end game chat, imagine the toxicity with in game voice chat.

For me when I want to talk to other survivors I'll do it with my friends, not with some random people on the internet.
