  • "nerf ds so its a anti tunnel perk not a immunity perk"

The Majority of the time when DS and Unbreakable is most useful is when a survivor gets farmed off the hook, it might not be the killer's fault but it is still tunneling

  • It really sucks that people have this attitude.

Luckily dbd is apparently planning to implement bots that replace Dc's.

It doesn't fix those people's mindset but it's probably the best dbd can do without applying the matchmaking ban to an IP address instead of a profile.

I'd prefer to go against and have people as teammates but this is better than nothing(And at least these teammates won't troll)

Took a break from the game for a few months, started playing again recently. What in the world happened to matchmaking while I was gone? It's not too hard to find a match during the day, but both last night and tonight I just can't find survivor matches. Been playing since 9:20 PM, it is now 10:13 PM, and in that time I've only gotten to play one match. First match had like a 15 minute wait, now I've been searching for nearly a half an hour with no matches. On PS4 by the way.

I feel like during the day is when the younger people without jobs play, who I think prefer killer.

Then they don't play at night and there is a shortage of killers while also being too many survivors even if there wasn't a shortage of killers.

There are also way more survivors at red ranks than killers because they got carried by swf

New matchmaking is coming and I've played it, it is a bit better sometimes by 10 seconds sometimes by a couple minutes.(You do also get paired with players closer to your skill)

I dont think they need to be equal on what they give, as I mean it would be way to easy to just use survivor to get BP (( as you can get around 5 games in an hour if even that)) I just think that it shouldnt really be taking up a perk slot if it just does that.

They don't need to be perfectly equal but the fact bbq provides more than blood points and WGLF doesn't seems weird considering they're supposed to be the same perk for either side. It's a bit more than it just being a bit unequal

  • 1: Overwatch

    2: Minecraft

    3: Dbd

honestly though, Id love to see it have more of use. But also, that could run the issue of MAJOR stacking of perk uses. Something along the lines of everyone sees your aura when you take a protection hit would be a nice change

Even something small like that would be nice. They just aren't equal like they're supposed to be right now

  • @malatruse said:

It encourages you to play well by rewarding you for protection hits and safe hook rescues.

BBQ encourages you to play well and hook all players at least once, but still provides further benifit

  • Cool idea, but people would be buying a concept instead of a skin, with little control other than map offerings to what the skin is each game.

  • @EverflowingRiver said:

I disagree, the aura issue needs to be too priority

That has been an issue for only a few days.

The devs already said they were working on it anyway

So I was sitting in my living room playing dbd and I remembered something about the Entity the observer said. Now I'm also a big Lovecraft fan and let me tell you when I started to think about this, the more excited I got. What if the Entity is Azathoth?

The Observer did refer to the Entity as an "Old One". If you don't know what that is, the great old ones are ancient gods that roamed the earth when it was created. The oldest of these gods is Azathoth.

Now back to my theory. I have read about the Entity in the official wiki and it is shockingly similar to Azathoth. Both are primordial beings who have control over time & space and feed from pocket dimensions they create. Also, Azathoth is depicted with spider/squid-like appendages.

I might seem a little crazy for thinking this but the similarities are too perfect. What do you all think? Is this just the rambling of a mad man or am I on to something?

I would think if the entity is supposed to be connected to the lovecraft universe he would be a new creature.

Maybe an old one, not yet heard of

So another MM change, i wonder how will that turn out. None of the changes worked well so far.. Rainbow MM is still a thing.

As somebody playing with it rn, It seems to be quite a bit better.

I have better teammates, and the killers I'm getting aren't babies/terminators

  • I would say wake up but this was too fast

  • For killer playing later in the night is basically instant queues

  • Xbox seems to be the experiment hub right now, so it makes sense that there would be a bigger update.

Although idk why it would be this much bigger

So you know how fandoms have stan names such as Rihanna and the navy or Gaga and little monsters. What would be the stan names for each character killer and survivor?

I think we just call them the characters' names, I.e. The Yuis', The Janes', The blendettes'

Im glad someone gets my drift. I feel the more you can add to such a boring task is the most that the killer and survivor can do to interact. Interupting during this time would basically stop progress until someone breaks the skill wall (for lack of... well better terms)

Adding a layer of threat/consequence to the gen would make it more engaging, I feel like it should just be more fun compared to what it is

Oh yea, I heard about that! i dont know about their current use, but what im mainly focusing on here is the lobotomy of a mechanic it has become, and its been the same for over 4 years now... for people who have been playing for that long... they must have night mares of that ding coming up

Yeah, gens could definitely do with something like this, just to make it a little more exciting to be doing the objective.

Gens have seen very little changes in 4 years and I'd like to see some kind of alteration to the base functionality of repairing gens

  • This is a very weird solution to the problem you're talking about.

The Devs are supposed to be introducing a side objective according to leaks by daylight, something called "Red Glyphs"

Congratulation! Because more than half of the players do not win BP after a game.

I'm not sure if that's true, but I'm glad to be on the lucky side 😅.

Yeah, put this is bug report anyway, but it's probably already been reported, things don't get fixed in a day

I have literally downed and hooked two people, found Jake healing behind a tree after that and got DSed.

It is just a 5 second stun, and annoying..and a third life state

  • @FloofyHaru said:

Well, Myers is basically an unstoppable force of mass destruction and death, so like, rules don't apply to him? Plus, he's basically unkillable, he could take on the entity in a 1v1 lmao.

Pyramidhead, well... His whole kit kinda goes against the entities will. But they're licensed and the entity can't be bothered with copyright issues I guess.

Michael can be temporarily stunned in the movies, and because the entity is it's own realm I'm sure it could just shove him in a room that stuns him every 2 seconds

  • "Unbreakable is quite a powerful perk in the game & can literally be the sole reason the outcome of a match changes"

Being a strong perk that can influence games doesn't mean it needs a nerf.

Mot perks in the right situation can do that, unbreakable's Use is just more often a situation to come across.

  • I like for them to give the option where you can switch between either one

  • @Snowbawlzzz said:

Since Scott's new video, there have been a lot of discussions about what killers are "fun" or "unfun" to play against (fun usually just meaning "easy to bully"). I don't think the use of this metric will yield any positive changes if it's normalized and the balance team starts reading into these threads. I know I'm going to get responses along the lines of "Its not a competitive game", but the fact that it's PvP-only means that this game is, whether intentionally or not, competitive. And in a competitive setting, balance is the first priority. This game's playerbase has a lot of overlap with the fighting game community (IE Tru3ta1ent), which is about as competitive as gaming gets.

The thought of Deathslinger being changed to be more "fun" in the eyes of survivors haunts me. He's already a skill-based killer that requires movement prediction, pop-shotting and player reading to perform well with. I wouldn't put these devs above giving him a huntress-like directional terror radius to make him a straight downgrade, for the sake of "fun".

     balance is the first priority"

Yeah, but that doesn't mean there can't be other things that are wanted.

Nurse is likely the most powerful killer in the game but is still fun to play against because of counterplay.

While spirit would be fine if there was more ways to tell if she was phasing i.e. crows flying.

  • @JesterClown said:

Prolly more survivors just because 2 killers are extremely strong. Ive put extreme thought into just thinking about how strong killer combinations are, even creating a category called “A killer and their win button (nurse)”. Plague unironically becomes an amazing killer in a 2v(whatever) mode, because she enables other killers so well.

Yeah two killers can corner a survivor, making pallets useless vaults useless etc

  • @aylawell said:

Hello fellow fog runners. I've come to a conclusion that makes me sad.. people just don't get it. Or maybe its ME that doesn't get it.. I'll explain..

I play survivor and killer mostly equally, but prefer killer. I am a huge fan of the original Texas chainsaw massacre for over 20 years so obviously main Leatherface.

After 3 years of playing, I've come to a point where literally 90 percent of my matches I find myself finding a corner to stand in so survivors can get some points so the match feels worthwhile to them.

In response to the hate mssgs I received when the game was new to me, I've learned what not to do (tunnel, camp, plank ppl for no reason, etc.) Playing survivor helped me also as I never do as killer what I hate being done to me as survivor.

This is my point I guess, I can come out of a match with 60-100k on average without actually killing anyone (I run BBQ, discordance, gearhead, and beast of prey.) And I feel good that everyone got a lot of points and had fun. I like playing games w survivors to make it interesting and have got nothing but good feedback from matches in the last couple years..

So question.. am I the only one that gets it? Cuz I'm sick to my stomach with the way killers play/act. It's attrocious the things ppl do "because they can"

Wake up killers, your not only hurting your own score by playing with no concience, keep in mind that NOBODY likes getting 3k points a match. It doesn't make you good friend, and karma will get you.

    See you in the fog.

    EmptyBore76

The reason why tunneling and camping are frowned upon so much is because they don't work great but they do make the survivors life hell.

  • I think it's about time solo queue players get equal info to SWF and then killers should be buffed up to that level, Eliminating/quelling the swf problem

  • @Zaitsev said:

Terrible ranged option thats telegraphed? Check

Terrible power which denies the only good gen regression perks? Check

Tormented means nothing when the cages are useless.

And since he cant even see cages anymore, hes trash. The cage moving thing makes sense, but removing his ability to see cages? Hes got a cool p3 skin, but thats it.

"Terrible ranged option thats telegraphed? Check"

It is more useful to use for zoning, but can still be useful in some situations to actually hit.

"Terrible power which denies the only good gen regression perks? Check"

You don't really have to use it, It is more about whether you need the team to come to you or go further away & if you need pop.

    "

Tormented means nothing when the cages are useless."

Ever heard of final judgement? Also, the trails can often give away positions of survivors if they're crouching a rotating behind something.

  • "PyramidHead has a huge advantage when it comes to his abilities and even having his cage. In my opinion, he walks WAY too fast, especially for having a range ability that makes it hard with trying to vault away from him or looping. His speed needs nerfed along with his field of vision. It feels like he can see EVERYTHING, and it makes it extremely unfair as you already have a hard time out running him."

    ...False

  • I think killers as a collective are easier to buff and nerf than survivors. Survivor buffs/nerfs usually have a lot more unintended consequences.

Most things you buff killers with are going to have barely any unintended loopholes for use in situations it wasn't meant for, For example buffing the length of the lunge is always just going to increase odds of hitting a survivor with a lunge, with little way to abuse it.

Survivors are much more the type to literally use everything they have to survive. They are also more reliant on perks as they don't have special abilities like killers. So if you nerf vault speed, the vault speed build will become more popular but also meaning that 2 perk slots will be filled for survivors(Nerfing them more than intended), Buffing vaulting speed would do the opposite and make that build less popular leaving more open slots.

It isn't that much more difficult to balance survivor, but it just will usually have more unintentional effect.

Balancing killers individually is the hardest but killers as a whole is easier.

Either way I'm pretty sure it's just safer, better & more fun to buff killers

  • @ToxicMyers said:

Seriously with all these op survivor perks you literally can't anything about people being unhooked. Oh you chased someone after they were healing nearby, DS. You were patrolling a nearby gen, BT. Literally the reason this game has a camping issue is that you have so many perks that are meant for use after getting unhooked, so why let them off the hook in the first place? Also the old "just go after the one who unhooked" how am I supposed to know who saved them without seeing them which proves that statement in of itself promotes camping. Also the fundamentals of the game need an adjustment. The fact there is one objective supports the play of gen rushing. Also another thing i see when people talk about gen rush, "just use (DLC perk) or (DLC perk)" The fact you need to buy something in order to stand a chance is total (BAD WORD). It's pay to win in that case. No better than other game's that thrive on microtransactions like Madden for example. This game needs fixing because at the state it's in it's either pay to win or lose. Also using anti-gen rush perks don't slow down gen rushers at all.

Killers need a buff, survivors don't need a nerf

  • @CrusaderNella said:

The idea of being able to play with your friends is good and it isn't always abused. But those who do abuse it ruins it for everyone. I have no idea how to balance it but it is not healthy for the game, as voice comms fill the role of a multitude of different survivor perks.

    For Example, Kindred.

It is kind of going against a squad of survivors that have the equivalent of like 7 perks equipped.

Give survivors base kit kindred, bond, windows of oppurtunity near other teammates and other Aura perks.

    Then buff killers way up

How is this relevant? They have no right to monitor my communication that happens OUTSIDE the game. And in fact, they can't even do it.

I may be talking on discord with someone about things unrelated to the game, which may be sensitive information. This is a clear privacy violation.

They're not even really monitoring it, it is just whether or not there is audio coming in(I.e. if you were speaking)

It doesnt matter, they cant monitorize anything you input outside of their product even when said product is running, the microphone is not sending voice comands to DBD, they cant monitorize its activity.

    They can with permission.

Anyways that doesn't matter, I was saying that to the person who was going crazy

  • @Artick said:

DBD has no right to access my microphone outside the game and pick up what I say in Discord or whatever software. If they implemented this then it would be no better than actual malware and likely illegal.

Plus, if they somehow did it, then someone could just use Discord on their phone. What are you going to do then?

They wouldn't be monitoring it outside of when you are playing swf.

Well then you put on your big boy pants and deal with a 5 second stun.

  • I'm going to select dbd original characters for each genre

Action = Legion(He moves really fast and his ability is just SpEEd)

Horror = The Hag(She looks like 70% of horror movie creatures)

Sci-Fi = The Deathslinger(He is an inventor)/The Doctor(Sci-fi Often has a futurised element of the past i.e. electroshock therapy)

Comedy = Clown(You know why)/Doctor(He's always laughing, if he shared why maybe we'd laugh too)

Romance = ....I choose to skip

Adventure: Hillbilly(There will be a lot of adventuring because Hillbilly go ZoOm)

Animation = Wraith(It will be cheap to animate because he can just be invisible a lot of the time)

    Western = Deathslinger(You know why)

Thriller = Huntress(Something about a angry tribal lady chucking hatchets at you makes me think thriller)

Crime = Deathslinger(He is an innocent man you was framed, you can turn that into a crime drama film)

Drama = The Spirit(Rin is so Bipolar that it ought to make an interesting drama because there is always tension whether because she is mad or because of the fear she will suddenly become mad)

Mystery = The Hag(The disappearance of Lisa Sherwood)

  • Should be in 2 hours & 30 minutes

  • What if you just didn't touch the survivor that came off the hook for 60 seconds?

    Then it doesn't work.

    (COUNTERPLAY)

I have a nice lil spot for Lightborn in my main build in case i see too many Flashlights to my liking in the lobby.

I'm kind of confused about why they would literally make flashlights useless if the killer uses lightborn like this.
