And thus, the great Sylar214 was lost to time.
The loss on this day is tremendous.

If you're nothing without Iron Will, then you shouldn't have it.

I haven't noticed anything too bad about it. Most of the time I'm able to hit them pretty easily.
-
I thought Sadako was interesting until they immediately followed her up with Dredge, who is basically her but better. Dredge's version of mobility is just better and more consistent, and while his chase power isn't exactly strong, it's far better than Sadako's who has... Nothing. Even Pig can kinda use her crouch in chase sometimes.
Also, yeah, Condemned is basically useless.

Fair. That is my least favorite aspect of the perk.

it's very threatening with 115 killers, starting from 4 tokens you can catch up super fast after a hit.
After DH demise and damage boost nerf, this perk will be super strong, maybe even op on some killers.
Who do you think it will be OP on? I'm definitely interested.

I'm really bad at her. She's the only killer (other than hag because ew) that I don't have the adept for currently. Glad you enjoy her, though! I haven't gone against her enough to form the seeming hatred everybody has for her.

The official Dead By Daylight Discord literally has a #########-ton of SWF voice channels. Not only do they not care, they literally embrace it. It's not cheating, at least according to BHVR.

I guess that's not terrible for a full priced game? Would rather it be $59.99, but still.
Did the math real quick (if I'm right anyways).
All those chapters + the base game would cost around 100$ USD. Or you could get the Survivor + Killer expansion packs (which again, didn't know where a thing) which has the same content, but both of those are thirty each. Those, plus the base game, would be $80.
I agree that it should probably be the usual $59.99 for a full priced triple A game, but I guess it's better than nothing.

Yeah, but nothing should be overpriced in general.
I agree, but I have a feeling the price of the cosmetics is the main source of income of the game, and it allows the chapters to be cheaper. I've never really cared about cosmetics, but I'd much rather the super optional content be more expensive to keep the content with actual purpose cheaper.
That's just my two cents, though.

@TAG said:
The one thing I think this game should be doing but isn't is releasing more up-to-date versions of the game bundled with all the non-licensed DLC chapters/paragraphs up to a certain point (similar to fighting games). Seems pretty lame that buying the game on PC still requires you to buy ALL the DLC chapters (minus the free ones, of course) individually.
Apparently on Steam there is now a version of the game called Ultimate Edition. I had no idea this existed until I literally just took a peek. It has the base game and all non-licensed chapters up to All-Kill. It's priced at $70 USD.
-
@SimplyPixelated06 said:
What I mainly care about in terms of things being over-priced with this game, is the cosmetics. They cost SO much, I've never seen any other game with such expensive purely cosmetic outfits. Like to get a full outfit is like $15 aud. Which is just insane to me since it adds no value to the game.
I'd much rather the cosmetics be overpriced as ######### then the actual chapters.

I don't understand why people care about the ruin nerf. Are you hard tunneling someone out of the game? How often do you honestly have ruin still up at the point you've killed someone in the game? If ruin still exists at that point and you are losing, you are bad at the game.
I do believe gens do regress when blocked, if not can you please provide a source?
Killers can stack aura perks, survivors can stack them. Seems equal.
Killers can bring multiple hexs, survivors can bring multiple boons. Seems equal.
Now when you get into categories that don't match is where we start to see the difference.
Killers can stack multiple chase perks, survivors really cant. As a killer I can stack brutal, the new perk that breaks pallets when a survivor vaults a pallet but after in injure, bamboozle. A survivor can run multiple exhaustion perks, yes, but can only use one in a chase. A killer can bring four.
So no its not equal in any way.
Again, from the Wiki. Gens don't regress while blocked.
As to your other points, I don't really care about Ruin getting deleted after a survivor is dead. Sounds fair to me. The 100% regression nerf, imo, is what makes it bad.
We agree on info and totem perks, so hey, coolio.
And dor chase perks, it depends on what you count as a chase perk. If the killer does that, they are placing their entire build on chase. Nothing on regression.
But as for Survivors, they could bring a exhaustion perk. Let's say Sprint Burst, in this scenario. They can bring Windows of Opprotunity. This is a info perk, but I think it aids in extending chases pretty damn well. Let's add on Vigil to help the survivor lose exhaustion faster, and maybe Fixated (or whatever the hell it's called now). Or maybe Resilience, since I beilieve that perk still makes you vault faster. I might be wrong, though.

Gens regress while blocked afaik
From the wiki. They don't.
-
Clearly, Self-Care is incredibly overpowered. Getting all those killers the win.
/s
-
Hard disagree on Ruin still being used. Ruin is definitely not that great of a perk, now.
Other than that, yeah, stacking slow-downs is irritating but it is working as designed. It sucks, but that's how it is. There are limits to stacking perks, on both sides.
Gens don't regress while blocked. Ruin and something like Deadlock wouldn't stack.
Survivor's can stack perks too, so I'm not sure what you're getting at here. The only exception is exhaustion, but again, if a Survivor really wanted to, they could bring multiple exhaustion perks. They can bring multiple info perks, multiple boons.
-
Like the previous person mentioned, Max is like fifteen or so in the show, so it wouldn't happen. Doesn't matter how old the actress is.
Robin or Eddie is more likely, imo. Robin's perks, I have no idea. She's clever, so maybe perks focused on misdirecting the Killer?

Goofy flashlights, I'm a-okay with. It's the wannabe [insert Survivor DBD Influencer here] I have an issue with.
I'd really rather have somebody doing a gen rather then following the killer around only to get instantly downed.
With my luck that's usually followed by a DC.
-
@akaTheBARON said:
Honestly, from the title, I thought this was going to be written from the perspective of playing killer and stating how flashlights are "annoying and toxic" and all that... crybaby stuff LOL.
but yeah, while I don't want them gone, I hate wannabe flashlight gods, who simply waste time trying to get flashlight saves. Some bring empathy, and when they see someone injured in chase, they will just stop what they're doing and run that way. And heaven forbid the injured survivor actually loops the killer for a while because instead of the flighlight jocky actually getting a gen done, they're just crouching behind something waiting... and usually they're ass with the damn thing anyway LOL. So I get that annoyance.
For me its the same with CoH, certain survivors will just lean on it. They waste time finding a totem bc they don't know where they usually are, they will continuously bless the same totem after being snuffed bc they can't find another one, and people who play this way are the type who refuses to play injured. In the wrong hands its a perk thats a huge timewaster, just like flashlights LUL
A good flashlight save can be game making. Good flashlight saves happen once every ten games, as far as I've seen.
I'm also probably stuck in MMR hell, so that probably doesn't help.
CoH hasn't been too bad honestly. I have had a few survivors rush to wherever their boon is any time they get hit, or worse just bless a new totem, but it's been rare.
-
You missed the part where not having an option to play with your friends would kill a multiplayer game.
I really feel like people really overblow how often they face a super-sweaty, tryhard SWF. Is it balanced? No. Can they really do anything about it? Also no.
-
Ger lucky. Or play with a SWF.
Or worse, do nothing all game and hope the Killer just destroys the rest of your team. Left Behind will definitely help, and the new Sole Survivor, technically as it helps make your hatch opening faster.
That's really it.

If you are a player with more than a few thousands of hours, you are in 1% of the DbD players. Of course learning Nurse would be easy for you, but even you won't be able to win with her reliably against survivor players of same competence.
People who demolish with Nurse on tournaments are people with more than 5-6 thousands of hours in this game, most of which they've spent playing Nurse, of course they make her look easy, but in reality that is not the case.
Again, just a difference in experience and opinion. I never found her too difficult to play.
-
@TeleportingTurkey said:

Nurse is both hard to learn and master and it gets increasingly difficult when you're facing survivors that keep applying her counterplay by acting unpredictable and constantly breaking LoS.
I disagree. But that's just a difference of experience.
I have never found Nurse that hard to play. Yes, it get's harder on maps with lots of walls to break LoS, but even then you can learn how to predict Survivors. I've only found it hard against Survivors who use Iron Will. But that's getting nerfed next patch.
We just aren't going to agree. I think her difficulty is overrated, and that she's not very well balanced. That's about it.

This is patently false. If it were true, why would the devs not changed the way she functions long ago; and meanwhile, continuing to release perks that are arguably strongest on her?
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3054048#Comment_3054048
Nurse doesn’t ignore or negate survivor defenses. Walls, vaults, pallets, and lockers all still exist in matches with Nurse. She simply changes how you use them effectively.
Sure. Tall walls and lockers exist. Vaults still exist.
Anybody that has a brain and has practiced Nurse to at least any extent can learn to play around those too. Especially if the Iron Will nerf goes through in it's current iteration.
I will have to disagree about pallets. No Nurse is going to loop a pallet. No Nurse is going to get stunned. Pallets are nothing to a Nurse. Unless they're bad. It's the same thing with short walls. If the Nurse can see you, she can easily hit you.
-
Because a Killer that negates a good portion of Survivor mechanics probably isn't good for the game? Because her difficulty is very overblown? It isn't that hard to be a """""good"""""" Nurse.
She's unhealthy for the game. She was made when the game was hide and seek. In that case, her power makes more sense. In the current looping centric state of the game, she ignores most non-perk defenses a Survivor has.
Yes, SWF is unbalanced. The difference is, a way to play with your friends is integral to the life-span of a multiplayer game.
-
It came out during the Anniversary, if I remember correctly. Just a Teaser basically saying we're getting another RE Chapter.

And why should she be able to dominate on all maps? Take the chainsaw killers for instance, they're differently restricted by indoor maps as well. Killers are bound to have maps which they suck or perform well on, what's so bad about that?
She shouldn't be able to dominate on all maps, but there also shouldn't a map a killer loads into and knows they lose in. That's bad because that's not proper balance, at all.
Billy and Bubba can definitely still perfrom decently well on the indoor maps. Bubba definitely more so, but a Billy doesn't think they lose the second they load into Lery's or The Game. This kind of nerf would make Nurse unable to do anything on some of the indoor maps. Esepcially Lery's.
-
Not the way to do it imo. Esepcially if she keeps everything else the same.
She'd effectively just lose on indoor maps.

If they have a self unhook system it's going to come with risks and that's what the risk is, killing yourself. If they didn't want to force you they would take out the DC penalty
That's not true at all? Yes, that is the risk, but it's also a way to get out of the game.
BHVR has said multiple times that they're not trying to force anyone to stay in the game, but DCing/Killing yourself on hook tends to ruin the game for other players. The DC penalty is short, at first, because everybody has a bad game or needs to do something else every once in awhile. Repeat offenses are what get you the longer and longer bans.
Maybe BHVR see's the long-ass death animation as a suitable enough punishment, or the loss of your items/pips. That, and a killer still get's the chance to use any hook related perks at least once.
-
Those all sound pretty normal to me. This is DbD we're talking about.
-
@Maverick_74F said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3051810#Comment_3051810
Yea they do there is a DC penalty
BHVR has clearly shown they don't consider it the same. Otherwise, killing yourself on hook probably wouldn't be a thing, or would have a punishment of some kind. The DC penalty doesn't stop somebody from DCing, it punishes them. And really, it only punishes multiple time offenders. Five minutes is nothing.
-
It took me a minute to figure out what you meant, then I realized you were talking about game-ending yourself on hook.
BHVR doesn't want to force anyone to stay in a game they don't want to. And for that sweet, sweet 4%, I guess.
-
Like you already said, that's really all up to the license holders. BHVR have shown they're very willing to make licensed cosmetics.
Personally, I wouldn't mind some more Silent Hill love. The two skins Pyramid Head has are pretty dope. Cheryl doesn't have as many skins because it seems like Konami were more interested in legendary skins to make her into other characters (or whatever the hell they're called now.)
My mains Steve and Demo are left in the dark unfortunately, but in a perfect world, I would love some more skins for them.
2018 Michael and Laurie would be badass.
-
Myers is still a product of his time. A very simple power that worked when the game was still hide and seek.
I'd say Tombstone Piece probably inflates his killrates. Which, if what BHVR said is true, were below what they wanted. More so, I think other killers were in a worse state than him. Legion, Ghost Face, Bubba. I'd even say the Twins are in a current worse state. They're more powerful, but also much more unhealthy.
-
Survivors have to escape to get their masks.
Blame BHVR. This whole event is a sweat fest on both sides.
-
I mean, same thing can be said of the killers that bring flan just to tunell and facecamp. People are always going to sweat, even through events, on both sides.
Just how it is.
-
I mean- They aren't the same kind of perk at all though?
Dead Hard is used to extend chases, Prove Thyself is a perk to make the objective go faster.
That'd be like comparing BBQ with something like Enduring or Ruin. They serve very different purposes.

Does the Map bare any relation to anything seen in the series?
Apart from the main room with the growth on the wall its pretty generic 'lab' environment and could even be reused as part of the RE chapter as a NEST facility.
Unless it directly looks like something shown on TV surely just not calling it Hawkins and moving it around a bit would be OK. I'm no lawyer though.
It's got signs of the Upside-Down in it, but I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard for them to reskin the map.
The issue is, for all we know, Netflix has rights to the entire map. Structure and gameplay design included. If that's the case, BHVR won't be able to bring back the map at all.
-
@GannTM said:
Do you people not understand that it’s not BHVR’s decision whether they can keep the map or not?
I guess people just want them to skin over the map, but I'm not sure if that would get them in trouble with Netflix or not. I don't see why it would, but I'm no lawyer. It was probably part of their agreement or something.

Okay but seriously how should it be nerfed?
Honestly? No clue. If the nerf is more like a rework, then it's likely going to be worse than current Dead Hard because current Dead Hard is just that good. If they nerf it by removing too much distance, it won't be nearly as good. If they nerf it to make it distance only, it's worse.
I'd personally just re-work it. I'm not sure to what, but something fitting David's personality.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
-
When you press E, you explode and die. This action downs all the other survivors.
Seems pretty fair to me.
-
@ThatOneDemoPlayer said:
I don't think looping should be removed, but it's not the only effectige strategy Survivors have to get Generators done, there's also the ShiftW strat, which is even better than looping most of the time
That's fair, but Shift+W is also infinitely more boring. Both to do and play against.
I mean, i can't blame Survivors, but still.
-
I haven't seen this sentiment in a long while tbh. If anybody thinks looping should be removed, they just want to play a power fantasy game where their opponents have to hide from them. That may have been the original intention of the game, but it's direction changed quickly. At this point, looping has existed far longer than the original hide and seek nature of the game.
I think loops that are too strong are bad, just like I think Killers with perks or powers that are too strong are bad. But looping in general is fine. If it didn't exist, Survivor would be infinitely more boring.
