Horror is incredibly subjective. I find her creepy, but not "horrifying". I don't really find anything in this game horrifying.
-
Those darn OP perks Fixated(or whatever the hell it's called now) and Urban Evasion.
Dead Hard I get the complaints for.
DS is made to counter one thing. If you don't want to get hit with it, don't tunnel.

Ok, so what I would do with the Nurse...I would revert her.
And no, I don't mean the OG 7 blink madness.
I mean the intermediate 5 blink one. Ya know, the usual 2017-2019 Nurse.
I know you miss old DbD, and with a not of things I agree with you on, but that version of Nurse was undeniably unhealthy for the game. Nurse is already the strongest killer in the game, she doesn't need to be able to have five blinks. She doesn't.
Some things are left better changed.
-
I don't know. Nurse is and has always been one of the hardest things to balance.
I suppose I'd start by fixing her bugs, because no Killer should be that buggy. Even if she's powerful.
-
Body blocking the hook is not unintended. You literally get points for it, Survivors have perks to capitalize on it, and Killer's have perks to counter it. I don't know why people keep thinking that it is.
Exploits and glitched should be fixed, but only if they're actual exploits. Like the survivors crawling to an area they can't be picked up in, or walking in areas the killer can't get to them.
-

Maybe a perk that prevents special abilities from going through walls and windows. Because that's really most of the problem with the hold "w" meta. It's better to run in a straight line from certain killers. You have Nemesis, Pyramid Head, Nurse, Cenobite and the New Killer where they completely ignore loops.
You really think they would make a perk that wouldn't let some of the cast use their powers?

If I said to nerf Tinkerer I know a lot of people would be like "just use spine chill" thinking that the undetectable is the strong part of the perk lmao, so choice restrictions it is.
Ah yeah just like the strong part of Undying is the aura reading on dulls

The day choice restrictions for perks come into play will be the day I shall celebrate.
I think I'd rather just take Tinkerer behind the shed but I'd be satisfied with anything at this point

True. Been seeing a lot more blights in public matches but they all run 3 slowdowns tinkerer… This would drastically change if he became 110, since these people often aren’t good with blight (it’s not hard to dodge their curves) and get carried by their builds.
To he honest, the complete eradication of bad Blights using Ruindying Tinkerer would be one of the better results of nerfing him.
Still think his basekit is completely fine tho.

after 7700 blighted rush hits, I’d say that his power is playable at most loops if you hug tech (you can do it on console) and if you try to use your power as much as possible, that’s the most important part of learning blight and the reason why his skill cap is the highest in the game.
That's fair, I admittedly don't play Blight enough to know all the tricks with him.
What that doesn't change is the fact that his playrate would plummet. Judging by how rare Hag (thank god) and Nurse are, most players aren't willing to put in the time to learn a killer like that. Hell, you can even apply this to Billy somewhat, but I think his low playrate is more because he feels like ######### to play.

"This reduces his movement speed to 0.5 m/s and if he is stunned by a pallet he ######### dies. We hope this brings him in line with our other killers."
"We can't forget the Add-On pass we have for him! We won't show them all here, but here's a few examples.
- Blighted Rat: When a survivor shines a flashlight on the Blight while rushing, he moves 2% faster.
- Soul Chemical: The Blight can no longer overdose. Reduces movement speed to 4.0 m/s. "

I agree, base Blight is so fun and I hope all they do is tweak some more obnoxious addons.
Don't do a Billy to him, devs, please.
"We're satisfied with The Blights basekit but ######### it, the Blight now has a limited amount of times he can use his power before he overdoses on the Blight serum."
-
I think in between not much and quite a bit, if that's the scale we're using.
Look at Hag players or Nurse players when they can't use the killer power effectively, they're incredibly easy to play against. I don't think it's possible for Blight to use his power at every single loop in the game, so at the loops he couldn't deal with he'd just have to loop at 110% or... Leave it.

I didn't say every single one of them was a connection failure I most of them
Oh, my bad.
If "most of them" were server connection failures, I'll ask again, don't you think more people would be complaining?
People will complain about one or two. Never enough to get a six hour ban.
I don't doubt some of them are server issues, but not "most" of them.

Most of the dcs were connection failures others were my fault sure but I'm not playing against hackers/broken servers
If every single one of those was a server issue, surely there would be more people stacking up long bans like that. So how come we aren't seeing them complain?
Unless the sever issues are entirely localized on your game.
-
A better game.
-
I mean they've only got so many perks they could make.
-
I mean, yeah, sure. Remove him and see BHVR get sued.
-
They don't stack. Most of them actually mitigate each other.
Blocked gens, like with corrupt or deadlock, cannot regress. If you have either while Ruin is up, they stay the same, and you can't Pop them either.
You can't Pop a gen that's being regressed by Ruin. With how much you complain about the game, I thought you'd know at least a little about it.
What you have a problem with is players having the ability to choose what perks they want. But Survivors can do this too, technically.
If a Survivor really wanted to, they could bring both Lithe and Dead Hard, and use both during the trial. You can only use one at a time, yeah, but that's how it works with the regression perks.
Tinkerer is not a regression perk.
Undying is not a regression perk. Neither of those perks do anything to slow generators down.

Not going to lie: low-key, I was pretty sure Trapper was supposed to be nod to My Bloody Valentine.
I think some of his cosmetics definitely are, maybe even his lore, but his visual design is 100% Jason. A big, hulking bald guy with a machete and parental issues? His mask is also way closer to Jason's.
-
When Wraith is watching a Survivor while invisible, he gets stalker points. He might have even gotten them before Myers and Ghostface, but I don't know.
The first three Killers are kinda like BHVR's versions of classic Slashers.
Trapper is very obviously Jason
Hillbilly is like the most obvious being a Leatherface clone
And I think Wraith was their version of Myers. He's even got the head tilts.
-
Alright, thank you.

Lead community manager called it blackface and said it has been brought up for change
You need to provide a source if you want people to believe you.
A lot of people on this forum have said "The devs said this is that." And if just hasn't been true.
-
The bug just makes his power look wonky, right? I don't think that's an actual 'nerf' as it doesn't do anything to his power.
That being said, they should still fix it. But maybe he'll be added to the list of killers broken and buggy but left untouched. Like Nurse.
-
@Junylar said:

My point is that the same "don't support the creator" mindset was applied to Notch. And yet... Minecraft was not canceled. Proving that it can be done.
If Jeepers were bought, what would happen then?
Because if it's still "supporting the creation", then we should cancel Minecraft because it's supporting Notch.
There is a huge difference in the people and the reasons people wanted them 'cancelled.'
Notch is a guy that has ######### opinions.
Salva is a convicted child molester.

Its like saying I can't enjoy or want Cosmic Horror books because Lovecraft was a racist.
Lovecraft was born in a time where that was the norm, was likely a very sick man, and died before that was seen as negative. It doesn't excuse him for his actions, but it explains them to a certain degree.
Victor Salva is a man living in a modern world, and he still chose to do what he did. Once again, they are not comparable. One is a terrible way of thinking, the other is a literal crime that ruined a child's life.

It depends how you want to look at it. I think that all media has a practical use.
To me, it's like trying to ban The Jungle Book or Huckleberry Finn. I'm a big proponent of Death of the Author - media should be enjoyed separately from it's creator.
There is another, bigger and much more complicated issue here though, and one that's probably going to rustle some feathers.
When someone commits a crime, goes to jail and is released, completes their probation or what have you and commits no further crimes - he or she should be clear (within reason). The formerly incarcerated suffer massive prejudices in society, from a lack of voting rights to constant surveillance. I'm not a fan of that, because it's saying that offenders can never be rehabilitated and need to be punished until they die - which is a pretty dark road to go down.
Salva commited a crime. For doing that thing, he went to prison, served his probation and has never reoffended. I have no love for the man, but right now, as a society, we are way too prone to collective vigilantism.
Woof, heavy stuff for a gaming forum, but I think that it's an interesting and important topic.
Media does have its uses, but it's nowhere near as important nor impactful as things like electricity or cars.
The difference is, once again, both are over a century old at this point. They were written in a far different time. Jeepers Creepers was released in 2001. Salva was convicted for terrible crimes in 1994. I think art should be separated from the author to a certain degree, yes, but to what degree is hard to say. I've always enjoyed Lovecraft's work-- But as someone who enjoys the genre of horror he helped create, I have to recognize his blatant xenophobia and racism.
I can see where you're coming from to a degree, but nothing will change the fact that Salva is a pedophile. He ruined a child's life. He did a terrible, terrible thing and it isn't collective vigilantism. Victor Salva does not deserve to have his work put in any sort of spotlight. Nothing will change my mind, and I'm not sorry about that.
It is an important topic, and I appreciate how calmly you argue your points, but it's likely best we stop here. The mods have a history of not liking this topic.

I understand why this makes it unlikely for a developer to want to touch the franchise, but this is terrible logic.
If we discarded everything amazing that was invented by problematic people, we wouldn't have rockets, electricity or cars.
Everything you listed has a practical use, and the inventors of all have been dead for at the very least decades. We, as consumers, can do nothing about the inventors being ######### people. They're dead, and their inventions have spread all over the world.
Jeepers Creepers is just a horror movie and has no practical use.
Victor Salva is still very much alive. He's a terrible person and his work does not deserve to be put in the spotlight, even if he's not directly attached to the project.
You're comparing electricity, one of the backbones of modern society, to a dumb horror movie. They are not comparable.
-
Unless BHVR changed their mind, no.
They said they will never put the Creeper into this game. There will always be a stigma attached to the name.
-
He had Tier 10 Enduring.
-
It technically isn't broken (at least not in the literal sense.) The Killswitch is for things that are the buggy kind of broken.
Haddonfun is just bullshit.

Lol, they call following a single survivor and standing in front of him till he dies a "valid strategy".
Truly the ignorance is of the charts here.
They say that because BHVR says that.
BHVR makes the rules. If they say things like camping and tunnelling are fine, they are.
They may suck to go against, but within the rules set, they are valid. It's not ignorance.

It is canon, Seed is the movie where he even has a child so
I know what the film is, I'm asking if it's still considered Canon.
Horror movies are infamous for having multiple timelines and just straight up retconning entire plots. Just look at the messes that are the Halloween and TCM timelines.
I'm just wondering because all the new Chucky media seems to ignore Seed completely. Or at the very least, ignores his kids.
-
No.
I'm fine with Dead by Daylight being the horror adjacent game that it is. Even Cote admitted as much when he called in a "Action Survival Game" (or something along those lines) in the Resident Evil stream. The one that introduced the chapter originally, not the Anniversary stream.
-
@AkiTheKitten said:
Chucky doesn't have a son, his child is genderfluid and goes by she/her and they/them
Is Seed (gross) still even Canon? As far as I can tell, Curse and Cult completely ignore it.
I don't know about the new series though.

Yeah, I thought they were talking about the skin too.

There are also a lot of crashes at the moment. Not every single DC is on purpose.
There is a reason they were disabled.
-
It depends on the situation.
Some killers do it to spread pressure and secure multiples downs.
Some do it to ignore DS.
Some do it to get a 4k.
Some do it to be dicks (only the ones that down survivors to bleed out).

well i don't have much interest in many killers anymore due to that + sbmm, i don't play with headphones and don't have thousands of hours of experience so actually whapping people instantly out of phase actually felt like a triumph for me (or just vsing absurdly predictable survivors in which case not so triumph) - spirit's why i even picked up the game and now i'm the one being oppressed by headphone users that know exactly where i am and clap me if i dare go through a pallet, it's rough
even long before i started playing i always looked at billy as the lowest-end of the top killers and it seemed like that panned out pretty well, only just getting nerf after nerf while still keeping the completely archaic design, at least billy mains can go to space and other goofy things
at any rate i guess it's just more potatosquad for me and wondering if balance really is revolving around my gen-allergic teammates
SBMM certainly did ruin a lot of things. The only advice I could give is to use headphones, as if makes Killer in general easier. That's of course up to you.
Poor Billy can't even go to space anymore as far as I know.

ye i know i've just become superbly bitter lately over spirit/deathslinger/sbmm end results, reading the latest survivorposting takes has gotten to become a bit grating as of late
wonder if a hit to self-heal mechanic itself is more likely than a hit to circle, but i think people are correct in asserting that shadowstep is the real destroyer at higher skill levels since if really know what you're doing that can make a chase (i.e. even getting damaged) hell on earth
by the way your name is cute
That's fair. I'm also extremely bitter towards the game, but for different reasons. I think the Spirit changes were warranted, but they gave Slinger the Billy treatment, and I doubt they'll even consider the feedback. They didn't with Billy. SBMM has always been a bad idea.
I doubt they'd change anything about the self-heal mechanic itself, Circle of Healing would he the target (if they're getting changes at all.) Honestly, I can't say too much about either of the Boons as I've stopped playing the game, and I haven't gone against them.
And oh, thanks :) I legitimately don't think I've ever gotten that before.

it doesn't really work that way with survivor mechanics, even before factoring that new dlc = significant delays before any major nerf
It does though, sometimes. We can't forget MoM was nerfed heavily, a somewhat short time after it's release.
Sometimes the changes take years, but short changes have happened.
